Took my wife to Fredericksburg for her birthday this week. Stayed at the Magnolia B&B in the Magnolia Suite. Service and breakfast was excellent. Very clean and nice room. Little pricy, but a really good experience. This morning's breakfast with the other guests was fun and Jill's food was excellent. Thumbs up to the Magnolia!

Great B&B, owners are very friendly and helpful. Gourmet breakfast is served at 9 with other guest and meal is outstanding, a different meal each of our three mornings of the stay. Very comfortable common areas to sit and visit and have wine and cookie in the afternoon. Will go there again, soon I hope.

What an amazing stay (girls trip.) Claude and Lisa run a wonderful Bed and Breakfast. They are lovely hosts. Their attention to detail was so impressive and contributed to making our stay memorable. We wanted for nothing and completely enjoyed our two nights.. Could not have asked for more!!!

This was our first visit to the Magnolia House and we have already booked our second trip. How can you describe a perfect visit. Lisa and Claude went out of their way to make you feel at home and were the perfect hosts. Homecooked, two-course gourmet breakfast (which is becoming harder to find - most offer just coffee and muffins). Beautiful house and rooms. They have thought of everything to make your visit as special as possible. I will recommend them to everyone!!

These accommodations are first class. Good beds, great sheets, excellent service. I would recommend going in a cooler time of the year so that the outdoor spaces could also be enjoyed.

I just had my first experience at a B&B and I hit the jackpot! I was traveling alone and could not have been made to feel more at home. This historic home is beautiful both inside and out. And Lisa and Claude are so nice and personable. Also the breakfast was Amazing!. I look forward to going back... :) Kathy

My wife and I stayed here for our second anniversary and Claude and Lisa were incredibly wonderful hosts. The Magnolia House is a wonderfully maintained and charming bed and breakfast. The bluebonnet suite is very private and cozy, with a luxurious claw foot bathtub. Claude and Lisa did an excellent job of making sure my wife's food allergies were taken care of. While I'm talking about the food, Claude is an amazing cook! I didn't get to ask where he was trained, but regardless, it was fantastic, from the brownies, to a delightfully delectable two course breakfast, he left me wanting to stay longer just for the food! I very highly recommend the Magnolia House.

Could not have asked for a nicer place to stay. Friendly and gracious hosts. A varied and delicious breakfast each morning. Tasty cookies greeted us after a day of touring. The B&B is located in a quiet residential street, close to the main downtown area with shopping and restaurants. We had an enjoyable getaway.

This was one of the best experiences we have had since being in Texas. The place was nice and beautiful along with the great owners and food served.

I was looking for a romantic getaway for our second anniversary. I looked around for some recommend bed and breakfast's in the hill country. Luckily the Magnolia House had an opening for the days I was looking for. Claude called me a few days later to check on any food allergies we might have. I have never stayed in a B&B with better hospitality and attention to detail. We even had a Happy Anniversary card and chocolate on the bed on our last day! The food is wonderful, and Claude and Lisa know the area very well. They will be sure you not only have a nice stay at the house but successful outings as well. You can't go wrong with the Magnolia House!

Beautiful, immaculate house, wonderful hospitality, and absolutely delicious food. We will certainly stay there again.

Our three night stay was outstanding Lisa and Claude were very gracious hosts. Our room was more than spotless. The bedding was soooo comfortable you wanted to stay in bed all day but you didn't want to miss out on the scrumptious two course breakfasts. Claude was a master at the breakfast pastries plus more. Every afternoon we found fresh baked cookies and wine in the common area. A porch for sitting outside was available as well as a patio with a fish pond. We would recommend the Magnolia House to anyone needing to get away for a relaxing stay.

This was our 3rd time stay at Magnolia House. Lisa and Claude provide a comfortable and inviting place to stay. From the cookies and wine in the afternoon to Claude's great breakfasts... The entire stay is always fun and relaxing. You also get the opportunity to meet other travelers.

Our stay in the Blue Bonnet suite at Magnolia House was outstanding. The breakfasts were Blue Ribbon winners. Everything was yummy and the presentation was gorgeous. The owners had the room filled with all the extras a guest might need or would like to have. The fridge was filled with all kinds of beverages and the linens were ultra soft. The owners were very friendly and helpful giving us ideas and suggestions on what to do in town. One way to tell if a B&B is outstanding is how many times a guest returns. We met a couple during our stay that it was their 11 time at the Magnolia House. That says it all. Bill and Bonnie want to be return visitors too.

We had a memorable weekend getaway. The Magnolia House was comfy and cozy. We didn't want for anything...they have thought of everything! They even waited up for us when we had an unexpected arrival delay. We will be back.

Wonderful atmosphere, very delicious food, amazing host and hostess! I made this reservation thinking I was getting a room at another bed and breakfast. Turned out to be the best mistake I ever made. Can't wait to stay there again this time longer.

This was our third stay at Magnolia House and it was just as good as the first two. Claude and Lisa have put together a great B&B that sets the standard for all others. Every detail is thought of, the full breakfast is always unique and outstanding and the hospitality is truly second to none. Claude and Lisa are now on our christmas card list, and we are already planning our next visit.

What stood about about our stay at the Magnolia House, was the feeling that you were staying in a friend's home. The hospitality of Lisa and Claude was warm and friendly, not forced. The rooms were lovely, and the grounds were tranquil. We thoroughly enjoyed out stay, and will be back again some day.
5 on November 24, 2015
Even though my husband and I were only able to spend one day and night at Magnolia House, we thoroughly enjoyed every minute. Our suite was wonderful! It was cozy, comfortable and immaculate and contained all the amenities we might need. It was one of the most relaxing evenings we have ever spent away from home. The breakfast was delicious and the setting perfect for lively conversation with the other guests. The Innkeepers, Claude and Lisa, were so kind and helpful. Claude gave us some great suggestions and directions for driving back to Dallas. Consequently we saw some lovely countryside and avoided the dreaded highway construction. We are looking forward to staying at Magnolia House again next year.

The minute you meet Claude and Lisa you feel as if you have know them forever. A completely delightful experience. Our room was quite large and very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious.
5 on November 02, 2015
Great B & B experience. The owners Claude and Lisa are the most gracious host and hostess. Together they have created a most warm and welcoming atmosphere. There is perfection in every detail. The breakfast is wonderful and we love the way they describe what has been prepared for the morning meal. Wi-Fi reception is excellent, throughout the common lounging areas, including in our room. Speaking of rooms, we stayed in the Peach Blossom room. We found it to be very comfortable, and more important: very clean. The sheets are comfy, as was the bed. Good selection of TV stations. Upon booking, we were told that this room has an adjacent unattached bathroom, but we found it to be very private, as it had an exterior lock/key that matched our room key. Nobody else could use it and we were able to safely leave our medicine and toiletries there. Besides, it was not down the hall, but just directly outside of the Peach Blossom room. The TV in the room had a very good viewing selection, but we didn't watch much, there's SO MUCH to do in Fredericksburg. A bonus: daily homemade cookies, fruit, and snacks in the common area. Complimentary red and white wine, sodas, and water there as well. No refrigerators in the rooms, but even better: a large one in the main area for your use. The Magnolia House is what a B & B experience should be. They set a high bar. Weather permitting the patio off the morning room is a perfect relaxation moment. The sounds of the waterfall into the well-stocked Koi pond should not be missed. The morning room is the ideal place to start your day with a delicious cup of coffee.

I have wanted to stay at a B&B in Fredericksburg for years! This year my Fiancé surprised me for my 35th birthday on the 4th of July. He did his homework and found the best B&B in the area. The 2-course prepared breakfasts are AH-mazing and should never be missed. Please visit Claude and Lisa at the Magnolia House, you won't be disappointed!

Lisa and I enjoyed our stay, as always at the Magnolia House. That is the only place we have stayed since we started visiting Fredricksburg.
5 on September 16, 2015
My family and I had a great time at the Magnolia House. Claude and Lisa were very welcoming and made us feel comfortable. The house and bedrooms are very nicely decorated. The sheets were amazing - so soft. Breakfast was delicious too. I highly recommend it and will stay again.

I knew we were in for a treat when I saw the historic marker on the house as we entered. I love staying in a place with a story, more than just a place with great reviews -- although Magnolia House had both! We stayed in the American Beauty room (we had our own bath in our room), King bed, and nice seating area. Lisa welcomed us, shared the history, and provided a tour of the house; Claude cooked a great two-course breakfast. Everything was very clean, snacks were provided, "anything" you could have forgotten was provided (including a brand new toothbrush) ... it is snuggled in a nice neighborhood just far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the main street, yet close. The dining and living areas were large and we didn't get to spend as much time as we would have liked. We also were there only one night but have already decided to go back for a much longer trip. We travel "a lot," and we loved this place.
5 on September 10, 2015
Comfortable B&B in a quiet location which is not too far from the Main street for shopping, dining and other activities. Very nice and friendly inn keepers. Breakfast are superb with different menu each day. Thanks for your hospitalities.

My wife and I planned a short getaway to Fredricksberg and stayed at the Magnolia House. Claude and Lisa made our getaway a great experience! The house was wonderful, the hospitality was warm, the suggestions were right on. Breakfast was worth the visit alone. Stay at the Magnolia House, you wont regret it.

5 on April 16, 2015
My husband and I were in Fredericksburg over the Easter week. Claude and Lisa were exceptional hosts. The Magnolia House is only a few blocks from the main street area but in a quiet neighborhood to afford rest and relaxation. There are several sitting areas inside and out to enjoy some quiet time. The two course breakfast was outstanding and the table conversation was enjoyable. This is one of the reasons my husband and I enjoy the bed and breakfast experience. Our room was lovely with a private bath and separate living area. Plenty of room to spread out and the entire house was extremely clean. We even had our own private entrance. Lisa and Claude thought of every possible need a traveler could need. We will definitely stay with them when we are in Fredericksburg again.

They even catered to specific dietary needs, which was wonderful and very much appreciated!

Wonderful place to stay. This is an exceptional B&B. Claude and Lisa work very hard to make everyone feel at home and welcome. Breakfast is outstanding. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. Convenient location too. Claude was extremely helpful in giving directions and reviewing our activities to ensure our visit to Fredericksburg was all that we hoped it would be.

My boyfriend and I spent the weekend in Fredericksburg for the first time. I had heard wonderful things about shops and food, but had to take a gamble on where to stay. After doing some research, I stumbled across the Magnolia House. At first I was wary of staying somewhere a few blocks off the main strip. I must say, it was one of the best decisions we made. It was really nice to be off the beaten path a bit. The neighborhood was quiet and a quick cab ride if not wanting to walk. This felt more like being at home than in a tourist trap, which I really liked. From the moment we showed up, the owners were friendly and accommodating. They gave us a tour of the house with a history of the structure. The house was larger than I expected and quite charming. They had everything we needed, from toiletries to drinks (even free wine!), internet, robes, games, TV... the list goes on. Now for the breakfasts... each morning, we were served a handmade delicious meal. This was definitely NOT your complimentary hotel "breakfast". Made from scratch pastries, fresh fruit, meats from the local market, eggs, coffee, juice, you name it. It was delicious, and I am not even a breakfast person! I highly recommend the Magnolia House for your weekend in Fredericksburg!
5 on March 13, 2015
Lisa and Claude go over and beyond when it comes to their guests. If they do not have what you need they will help you get it. The rooms are comfortable and well decorated. Little touches are all around. A lint brush, flashlight, great robes, soft sheets and a small dish of chocolate. You can choose from a common room to a backyard pond and glider swings. The breakfast was an amazing 2 courses and we felt just like we were with family and friends at home. A peaceful place to get away and be treated like a special member of the family.
5 on March 08, 2015
There is no detail overlooked which could contribute to their guest's comfort at Magnolia House. Claude is the consummate host from the minute you check in until he serves your two course gourmet breakfast.

We keep going back to the Magnolia House because of the great accommodations and wonderful feeling of being a guest in this 5 Star B&B. Claude and Lisa really make you feel at home and are terrific hosts. In addition, we always enjoy meeting and visiting with the other guests. If you are looking for a B&B in Fredericksburg, Texas, the Magnolia House is by far your best choice.

My husband and I spent three perfect nights at the Magnolia house. Lisa greeted us on arrival and made made us feel right at home. And breakfast...Claude is amazing. Breakfast was simply delicious. We stayed in the Magnolia Suite (has a private entrance) which was very roomy and comfortable, with a separate sitting area and fireplace. Very romantic. Lisa and Claude think of everything, down to a medicine cabinet and a list of restaurants open on Sunday. We will definitely be back and would highly recommend the Magnolia House to others.

Magnolia House is the standard by which all other accommodations should be measured. Claude & Lisa not only make you feel special and at home, but provide exquisite surroundings to enjoy your stay. I especially liked the Bluebonnet Suite for comfort and privacy and the sheets, oh! the sheets, unbelievable!. Great location, wonderful hosts, beautiful accommodations, and incomparable cuisine. What's not to like. If you are into Wine Country, Becker Wineries is a HIT! If you want relaxation, look it up in the dictionary and you will find a picture of Magnolia House. Bronco Bill T. We stayed in the Magnolia Room and found it (and the entire B & B experience) to be one of the BEST places we've stayed. The room was decorated beautifully and looked "fresh" as if it had been recently renovated. Even the bathroom was up-to-date with stone tile and a new-looking bathtub/shower and pedestal sink. This particular room has the bed set back off the main part of the room so that there is "living room" big enough for a couch, love seat and several good sized tables. My husband loved the fact that we were able to put our luggage completely out of view since there was a large closet as well as a small enclosed hallway between the main room and the bathroom. And we were able to relax in the evening on a comfortable couch or love seat instead of sitting on a bed or in an uncomfortable smaller chair. The common areas were decorated beautifully as well and had several comfortable chairs to relax in. Wine and cookies (Nutella Chocolate one day and Cherry Almond another day) were set out each afternoon. In the morning, everyone dined together at the main dining table that was set with lovely china. The breakfast was delicious each day, and because we all sat together, it was easier to get to know each other. (We found out that another couple that was staying there lived in our area and even attend the same church we do.) The owners are very friendly, and have pretty much paid attention to the small details that make a stay nice such as providing sodas and snacks in addition to the wine and cookies, a cabinet filled with items you may have forgotten, bath robes with a soft flannel lining instead of heavy terry cloth, etc. And the price was very reasonable. We will definitely stay at this place again.
5 on August 30, 2014
We loved the house and the beauty of the grounds. Our "American Beauty" room and bath were perfect ... the bed was very comfortable. Our hosts, Claude and Lisa, were outstanding, as were the sumptuous and filling breakfasts. I loved that we shared the breakfast table with fellow guests - it was fun to meet and talk with total strangers. I highly recommend The Magnolia House.
5 on August 26, 2014
This was our first experience with a bed and breakfast and it was certainly a positive one. The owners are naturals as hosts, very attentive to guests needs, thoughtful and creative with amenities, knowledgeable of the town and area, and conscientious with their recommendations. The breakfasts were excellently prepared and beautifully presented in a formal table setting. Our Bluebonnet Suite included a refrigerator, microwave, granite counter top, and a cabinet which housed a basic set of dishes, flatware, and stemware for four. Besides soft drinks and drinking water, the refrigerator came stocked with a small carafe of white wine. The bed was comfortable. The whole suite was outfitted with fine, luxurious linens, including guest robes and monogrammed towels. The suite as well as common areas and grounds are all clean and in good repair. We enjoyed every minute of our 5-night stay and are already talking about how soon we think we can return for another visit.

We spent 3 nights at Magnolia House celebrating our anniversary. It was the best B&B that we have ever stayed at and we have stayed at many. Claude and Lisa were very welcoming and friendly. They make the best breakfast ever and everything was absolutely delicious. The entire house is spotless and decorated beautifully! Very centrally located, with lots to do in the area. We will can't wait to have another occasion to return.

Claude and Lisa were wonderful. Magnolia house exceeded our expectations. The breakfasts were delicious. They had several extras we have not had at other B & B's in Fredericksburg. We will be going back.
5 on August 07, 2014
We loved staying here!! Every year my husband and I stay at a B&B for our anniversary by far this one was our favorite. The Inn Keepers were so friendly and sweet, they also gave us tons of information about attractions and restaurants that were near by. The breakfast was delicious and was nice that we got to sit in a big table and talk to the other people staying there. We will definitely be back next year!!
4.8 on August 06, 2014
We stayed in the Magnolia Suite and it was wonderful. I traveled on a weekly basis on business for several years and this was far and away the most comfortable stay I had. The Magnolia House is a real B&B in Fredericksburg unlike most of the others who offer only a bed and voucher for breakfast at another business (might as well stay at Best Western!). The magic question I always ask people when they recommend something is whether or they would go back and to that I would answer a resounding YES!

We stay at the Magnolia House a few times a year to visit wineries in the Fredericksburg area. A friend recommended it highly, raving about the breakfast and the service. I'm not really a 'breakfast person' but we thought it would be fun to do a romantic getaway. We were utterly blown away by the entire experience. Claude and Lisa are friendly and helpful without being obsequious, and have the knack of being available without hovering or intruding. The rooms (we have now stayed in the Lilli Marleen and Peach Blossom rooms) are relaxing and comfortable, with plenty of charming little touches to make each unique. We love to ease into our weekend with a few of Claude's fresh-baked cookies and a glass of wine on the backyard swing, and then hit the road Saturday fortified with an amazing breakfast for our winery adventures. I mentioned not being a breakfast person? I am at Magnolia House. Every offering is a treat, from poached egg cups with sausage in, to french toast or scones. The conversation with other guests is lively and interesting. Though it's obviously a business and the owners are very professional, they've managed to cultivate the air of staying at a friend's comfortable country home for a house party, with knowledgeable local guides to point out a new winery, a favorite restaurant, or simply a great place to grab a pizza.
5 on June 01, 2014
This was our second stay at the Magnolia House, and just as before, it could not have been better. Claude and Lisa are the most wonderful hosts anyone could ask for and the food is even better. If you are looking for a great B&B experience Magnolia House is the place to be. 6 Stars!

We've stayed with Claude and Lisa 3 times now and wouldn't think of staying anywhere else in Fredricksburg! It's a home away from home. The attention to detail goes way beyond any expectation and the gourmet breakfast each morning is absolute heaven! The home is beautiful, the company delightful and we always get a great night's rest in the comfortable surroundings.

We stay at the Magnolia House every time we visit Fredericksburg--sitting out on the patio and watching the fish in the pond and listening to the birds is so relaxing! The owners make you feel right at home and have thought of every little detail when preparing the room from lint rollers, flashlights by the bedside, comfortable robes in the closet & movies and books available too. The beds & pillows are VERY comfortable but the specialty breakfasts are probably what make the whole experience at this B&B so extremely exceptional!!! Claude puts his heart and soul into everything he makes and it is served on a beautifully set table of fine china. If you are a wine lover, you will definitely love this area--there are approx.23 wineries on the main road from Johnson City to Fredericksburg and the Wildseed Farm is another intriguing place to visit too. We always leave one evening to go to Luckenbach to sit under the trees and listen to those individuals jamming and singing in a circle out in the back behind the store and hoping that one day we might get a glimpse of Willie Nelson joining that circle of friends!!!!

For the 10th year in a row we stayed at the Magnolia House for out Easter Weekend mini-vacation. It was as wonderful as ever. Claude and Lisa are perfect hosts and Claude's cooking gets better each year. The accommodations are excellent and the location is close to all the Main St. activities, but far enough away to avoid the hustle-bustle. The loudest sound you hear is the call of the mourning doves each morning. The daily cookies are not to be missed.

My husband and I received a gift of two nights at The Magnolia House in beautiful Fredericksburg, TX. On arrival, our host, Claude, greeted us and shared the history of this lovely home. He then introduced us to other guests that had arrived earlier and were enjoying coffee, tea and fresh baked brownies!! We were shown to our room which was much bigger than expected, with LOTS of extra little additions that made our stay so very enjoyable. The suite was clean, neat, not overdone and had LOTS OF CHARM!! The private bathroom was spic and span...and the bed and bedding, so VERY COMFORTABLE. Coffee and tea are always available...also a lovely supply of soft drinks, water and wine. BUT THE BEST PART...are the FANTASTIC, DELICIOUS BREAKFASTS, and the beautiful way that they are presented each morning. Truly, they are made fresh, with much thought and care... and served at a beautifully set table. Our host and hostess, Claude and Lisa, went to great pains to make sure our stay was most enjoyable. ..even before our arrival. They made suggestions of what to see and do while in the area...and could even make reservations if asked. Guess you can tell that our trip was a special time for my husband and I...and the thing that made it so was The Magnolia House and the lovely new friends that we made while there. We only have one question for our host and hostess... Is a 3 pound weight gain NORMAL after a visit to The Magnolia House??? Just asking!!! Sharon Knolls

We have stayed at many B & B's and the Magnolia House is definitely our favorite. Claude & Lisa were wonderful hosts. We are planning another trip to Fredricksburg in the Fall and wouldn't think of staying anywhere else. Pat & Ken Moore

We are reluctant to share our wonderful experience with anyone for fear that there will not be a room available for us the next time we want to stay. Everything was perfect! Every possible need was anticipated...from treats upon arrival to other amenities such as even a lint roller in our room! The accommocations and breakfast were outstanding. We look forward to a return visit of a longer duration.

Sight unseen and booking this site online of course gives one a wee bit of trepidation. However, upon arrival. meeting our host and going through the arrival process, we were both made to feel at ease and welcomed much to our delight. I have nothing but good words about our experience. We will definitely stay here again the next time we are in this area. The breakfast was delightful both in content and presentation. I will recommend this B&B to all with whomever asks!

We spent the weekend at Magnolia House and had a marvelous time. I honestly could have just stayed there all day and relaxed. Claude and Lisa were charming and professional, very helpful and thoughtful. I chose this B&B partly because of the advertised gourmet breakfasts and it more than lived up to expectations.

We have stayed numerous times at The Magnolia House over the years. Lisa and Claude provide a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the hill country. Their hospitality and excellent breakfast service is not to be missed. We return all the time due to their location, the home size( five rooms/suites), food quality, and their hospitality. On this last trip, Lisa recommended we drive on route #1376 for a scenic tour of the hill country. It is was wonderful. We highly recommend the Magnolia House.

Claude and Lisa very gracious host. Outstanding facilities, bedroom and common areas. Relaxed each afternoon in one of the two sitting rooms. Very helpful providing information for our first visit to Fredericksburg, restaurant recommendations great! Gourmet breakfast was creative and delicious. Will stay there again.

This was one of our top stays in Fredericksburg to date. What you really notice when you are out-and-about in town is that you see other big B&Bs completely dark and empty you know Magnolia is where you belong. It's the same thing in many industries, even when there is significant competition, the real winners are busy as can be. There are lots of attorneys but few who get lots of business, same with Dentists, Doctors, Veterinarians, Car repair shops - you name it - the best ones are busy because they deliver Value. Magnolia delivers lots of value. The house is perfectly clean, the service is luxurious, and they have little details like reading glasses and earplugs. Not to mention DVD's, games, cookies, chocolates everywhere...nice handmade soaps. Why stay anywhere else? All the big chain hotels cost about the same, but the experience at Magnolia is truly luxurious.

My wife & I decided to try something different this year since the kids were out of town. We tried this delightful B&B in Frederickburg. I have many good things to say, so let's start with the house: Really nice and cozy setting. It is off of the main street, which is something we wanted. My wife is a light sleeper and the noise off of the main street would have been too much for a restful sleep. We walked the neighborhood and to the downtown area. At night we saw three deer a block or two away from the house on our way home from downtown. The hosts were great. I got up early and went downstairs to coffee and got a chance to chat a little with Claude and Lisa. These are two really great folks who did all they could to make our stay great. They were there when we needed and out of the house when they weren't - this is a good thing, almost like a good referee in a basketball game, the best ones are the those that you don't even notice. I loved listening to their stories about the town and the house. For Thanksgiving dinner we were planning on eating in one of the downtown eateries. The night before we drove 15 minutes to Luckenbach, TX to listen to some guitar picking. As we were leaving everyone was so nice and invited us (and anyone else for that matter) to the Thanksgiving get together the next day. It was a "pot luck" type of dinner with the local providing the Turkey and serving. There was a small donation to the veterans. We brought some pies and had one of the best Thanksgivings ever. The folks were great, there was some really good local guitar music and singing for all. I would highly recommend this B&B. We are already planning on going back in the spring to do some cycling. Absolutely beautiful area..

We stayed in the Magnolia Suite this past weekend, and it was such a treat! The owners, Lisa and Claude, treated us like family. The room was beautiful and clean. The breakfast each morning was delicious, and we enjoyed visiting with the other guests during our stay. If you appreciate all of the little details that make a B&B stay special, the Magnolia House is for you. It was a memorable weekend in Fredericksburg! We'll be back!!

Located away from the brouhaha of Main Street and yet so close, we found this charming and peaceful home away from home. Beautifully decorated, impeccably clean, quiet with access to a delightful patio where one can enjoy reading a glass of wine and/or meditate. All that coupled with a delicious healthy breakfast, served with the most delicate dishes by wonderful and attentive to details hosts. Driving away, we felt a sense of leaving something precious, something special that we were so lucky to experience. We are looking to come back very soon.

A professionally handled B&B, far about the normally good B&B. Breakfasts are chef quality, and the time the owners put into detail assures that all of the needs of the guest are taken into account.

We loved staying at this beautiful home in Fredericksburg TX. The home is very quiet and beautifully appointed. The American Beauty room was great. The owners, Claude and Lisa are wonderful hosts, and made us feel very welcome and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. We highly recommend the Magnolia House!

the owners thought of absolutely everything to make our stay a wonderful experience right down to a nite lite in the bathroom and comfy bathrobes in the closet. It was as if they were going to stay there themselves. Courtesy beyond our expectations and the breakfasts can only be described as "gourmet"

Why anyone would want to stay in a sterile motel room when they could stay at Magnolia House for around the same cost is puzzling.

The Lilli Marleen room was beautifully appointed and using a detached bathroom was not inconvenient. The temperature in the room was warm and sleeping on the polyester sheets kept us a little too warm during the night. The overhead fan really helped. The afternoon cookies were delicious. Breakfast was adequate and tasty. There was a sense of serenity in being further from the hustle and bustle of downtown Fredericksburg. Overall, our experience was relaxing and refreshing. We appreciated the hospitality of Lisa and Claude. Larry and Sandra Good

The Magnolia House was an excellent choice for our first Bed and Breakfast experience. Upon our arrival we were greeted with utmost warmth and congeniality. The charm of the southern decor made us feel at home. The soothing colors, the feel of the linens, the bath amenities, soft drinks/wine in the refrig and most importantly the immaculate condition of our suite. The Bluebonnet Suite seemed like it was designed with us in mind. Having beautiful 2 course gourmet breakfasts served to us with the other friendly house guest also enhanced our stay. Our plan is to return someday thanks to Lisa and Claude.

My husband and I love all of the things to do and see in Fredericksburg, but this last trip was all about rest and relaxation. We booked our stay at the Magnolia House, because we wanted something warm and cozy and not right on the main strip. We could not have been more pleased with our decision. This place was all that we had hoped for and more. Claude and Lisa the owners were wonderful. You can really tell they love what they are doing. I have never seen more attention to detail with the amenities any where else. There were fresh warm cookies out every day and a fridge stocked full of drinks for the guests, including wines. The breakfast every morning was heavenly. Claude and Lisa cook a two course breakfast that would rival any fine dining restaurant. We stayed in our room most of the time just to rejuvenate and really never knew anyone else was there. Claude and Lisa always took care to keep the place quiet and relaxing. The Magnolia House had such a warm and homey feeling to it. The stay there was just what the doctor ordered.

We just returned from our second stay at the Magnolia House which has become one of our favorite Bed & Breakfast. Very Relaxing weekend with friends. Magnolia is located close to Town. Exquisite rooms and Home. Beds very comfortable and sheets dreamy. Amazed by owners attention to every detail. Stayed in a Suite which had all the comforts of home. Claude continued to amaze us with his culinary skills providing a sumptuous breakfast each morning. Grounds meticulously kept with outside patio which has a koi pond and waterfall. Surrounded by sounds of nature, birds singing and a visit one evening by a doe. Walking distance to Main St shopping, restaurants and close drive to Wineries and Vineyards on Hwy 290 and the Wine trail. Close to Nimitz Museum, Rockbox Theatre and Main Street Fredericksburg. We have already made a future reservation. Well done Claude and Lisa! Sharon & Bob G Dallas, Tx

We returned from our enjoyable visit to Fredericksburg, TX, and The Magnolia House two weeks ago. Every positive thing that others have written we more than agree with. Claude, Lisa and Maggie were so nice and helpful with suggestions and directions. The House itself was full of history and charm. Our room, The Bluebonnet Suite, was perfect for the three of us. We had all the comforts of home without any of the cooking and cleaning. Claude did it all! The location of The Magnolia House was close to everything. One of the things we enjoyed the most was our conversations with other guests that we met in the evenings or over breakfast. During our two night stay we met people from Wisconsin, New York, Florida, Arizonia and France. The French couple could not speak English but we could all laugh and enjoy each other just the same. Our girls week-end was terrific! I will and have recommended The Magnolia House to anyone who enjoys the homey feeling of bed and breakfasts. We hope to return!

My husband and I decided to take a vacation to Fredericksburg as one last get away before having our first child. Being 7 1/2 months pregnant, I was a little apprehensive about traveling and not being able to sleep in my own bed. My nerves were immediately put to ease right when we stepped inside the Magnolia House. We were greeted with a smile and delicious chocolate chip mint cookies. We were then shown to our room, which was immaculate and the bed was so comfortable. Every minute of our stay at the Magnolia House was perfect and I highly recommend it!

Our stay at Magnolia House was perfect. It was a girls' getaway to celebrate my daughter's 40th birthday. Lisa and Claude were the consummate hosts. The breakfasts were a feast for the eye as well as the palate. The camaraderie around the beautifully laid table was a wonderful beginning to our day. I have stayed in lots of B&B's but this one tops them all with the extra little touches these hosts provide. We looked forward to our afternoon freshly baked cookies- they even provided my gluten free daughters with their very own treats. We enjoyed a glass of their complimentary wine in the parlor before heading out to dinner. They have thought of everything... spa robes, toiletries and amenities, movies and books to borrow... if you want to be pampered and catered to don't miss Magnolia House. They even left my daughter candy and a birthday card in our room! We will all remember this as the best b'day celebration ever! Can't wait to go back!

I have been going to the Magnolia House for eighteen years and it just keeps getting better. Recently spent three nights there and Claude & Lisa have continued to set the bar high for hospitality and service. The two-course breakfasts are exceptional - as good as one would find in a 5-star establishment! The afternoon baked goods are a favorite treat of mine - Claude has the hands of an angel, his baked goods are so light and delicious! The linens and rooms are superb and they truly make you feel like you are home with family!

My husband and I were thrilled with our stay at Magnolia House to celebrate our one year anniversary. We stayed in the Magnolia Suite and loved it. The room is impeccable. It is beautifully decorated and furnished, and it has its own convenient entrance on the side of the house. The owners, Claude and Lisa, were incredibly hospitable. They gave us great tips and literature for the happenings around Fredericksburg. Also, the breakfasts were delicious and, at other times besides breakfast, there was always a home-cooked snack, coffee, tea, water, and wine available. Know that Magnolia House is not right on Main Street and is not within walking distance of it, but we found parking easily and enjoyed getting away from the busy street at the end of the day. We definitely recommend Magnolia House.

We enjoyed our stay at the Magnolia House so much. Claude is a fantastic cook, and breakfast was amazing!! The table was always set so beautifully and we totally enjoyed enjoyed the company at the table too. Lisa it's a great hostess and thinks of everything.. Even aloe for sunburns! This is a wonderful place to stay and I hope we can come back again soon.

The Magnolia House exceeded our expectations in every way. A delightful home just blocks from Main Street, Magnolia House was an exquisite interlude for my wife and I. Owners Claude and Lisa Saunders were the perfect hosts. No, hosts is not the right word..."Friends you can't wait to see again" would be a more appropriate expression. From the sumptious homemade breakfasts to the impeccable decor, Magnolia House is THE bed and breakfaxt to book for visiting the quaint town of Fredericksburg, Texas, deep in the heart of the Texas Hill Country. Our stay in the Bluebonnet Suite immediately necessitated planning for our next visit! From the afternoon wine in the common room/ and or garden patio to the fresh baked treats to the heavenly sheets on the beds, no detail is missed. Our only sadness was when we had to leave! I heartily recommend Magnolia House to all those who want to experience true bed and breakfast hospitality.

Wonderful weekend away for two exhausted parents of twin 3 year olds who were fortunate enough to have grandma and grandpa give them a 2 day pass to freedom :) The Magnolia House was the perfect B&B for us. No detail was overlooked. The owners were incredible hosts who thought of absolutely everything to make our stay a great one. The home and room was neat, clean and comfortable. Breakfast and afternoon treats were delicious. Location was perfect for us - not too close to the main street noise, but only about 5 blocks away. We drove to Main St., but parking was free everywhere, so this was very convenient. We look forward to going back to Fredericksburg, TX and definitely look forward to going back to the Magnolia House B&B!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Very clean. We were not presented with a lot of dos and don'ts. The owners were very helpful & accommodating with our schedule. I would recommend this B& B. We stayed upstairs in the American Beauty room. The bathroom was very spacious compared to other B & B.

Four couples visited Fredericksburg last week -- the girls to play in a Mah Jongg tournament, the guys to play the newly refurbished Lady Bird Johnson golf course. We chose to stay at the Magnolia House. Lisa and Claude have thought of EVERYTHING -- there are even reading glasses on the dining room table, flashlights by every bedside, and games, books and movies available. The Magnolia House is not only beautiful and tastefully furnished with period antiques, but it has some amazing architectural details that Lisa showed us. And the place is SPOTLESS. Our hosts were so gracious and accommodating - they moved breakfast up an hour so we could stick to our schedules - how nice was that of them? And boy oh boy, that breakfast! Banana pancakes, homemade cherry scones, baked eggs, wonderful sausage, and great coffee. We were asking Claude and Lisa to adopt us! And if you stay with them at Magnolia House, you will feel like a spoiled child and an honored guest. If you're going to the charming little town of Fredericksburg, you should definitely give these lovely people a call. You'll not be disappointed! Allison and Steve, Liberty Hill, TX

Staying in the Bluebonnet Suite was a perfect fit for our 4 day stay. It is like a small well appointed apt. The Saunders' paid attention to every detail in the room and in the home its self. Delicious breakfast, always presented in a special way. Delightful cookies and pie treats in the afternoon. Coffees, teas and nibbles at the ready for all the guests. Just a mere mention of a need and it was seen too. We left, planning our return stay.

From the friendly greeting at the door to the warm wishes for a safe trip home, the folks at Magnolia Inn did everything right. The host showed us around the property, and made us feel at home. They had all sorts of wonderful touches to make our stay special - drinks and snacks available all day, extra toiletries in case we forgot anything, a very comfortable living room and sitting room where we could relax, a pleasant porch with a fountain - everything was wonderful! Our room was very nice, and I loved the very soft sheets and comfortable mattress. And the breakfast? Absolutely great! We will definitely come back to Magnolia Inn - it was a wonderful experience at a very fair price!

Our stay at MH was great from the moment we arrived on the picturesque grounds. We were greeted by a most cheerful host that had a smile for as she led to what would be our place of solitude for our stay. Now as you enter this home you realize that Claude and Lisa have given this labour of love all the comforts that they have found to be most important when you are away from your home. There are so many final touches that come down to one important character that the Saunders both willing live out and that is hospitality. I have and would continue to recommend MH to anyone who takes interest in staying in Bed and Breakfasts that are willing to make sure that you feel as though you are always welcome.

We just spent four memorable days in Fredericksburg celebrating our anniversary and the experience was made all the greater by the accommodations we had at the Magnolia House. This is a well-appointed old Texan home that's on the historical record right in the heart of Fredericksburg. We stayed three nights and enjoyed three great breakfasts by Claude who provided us with a creative gluten-free menu while he served all the other guests a new and different breakfast each morning. The house affords its guest spacious living areas with an outside patio for relaxing and enjoying good wine and conversation. I think the sleeping accommodations are about the most comfortable I've experienced, especially the Comfy sheets. It's a five-star B&B in our estimation. The hosts, Claude and Lisa, are very welcoming and think of everything.

My wife and I have stayed at over a 100 B&B's throughout the US and Europe over the past 40 years and I would place the Magnolia in the top 3. Everything was perfect - the hosts, the room, the amenities, and the food. We think they've thought of everything. A really great experience that we would highly recommend.

My daughter and I stayed last weekend for my birthday celebration. Very lovely and large home. Lisa and Claude were wonderful hosts. We were very appreciative that they accommodated my daughter’s gluten free diet and the breakfasts were such a gourmet treat. I’m enjoying the cookbook they have for purchase, can’t wait to try their Vanilla Corn Bread! Had fun picking out a movie to watch from their extensive collection. Magnolia House is located in a quiet neighborhood just a few blocks from Main Street. This home should be your number one pick!

If you read even some of the other reviews posted about the Magnolia House you will pretty much get the picture, "Claude and Lisa are perfect!" Hence there is no reason for me to be long winded the other reviewers have already said all there is to say. This is the best B&B you could ever stay at and out of the dozen or so my wife and I have vacationed at it is our favorite. Before Tripadvisor reformatted their website so you could only see the top attractions/hotels/restaurants etc in a certain city not only was the Magnolia House the number one B&B in Fredericksburg but it was the NUMBER one B&B in the entire state! Deservedly so! Enough said. Stay here, enjoy and say hi to Claude and Lisa!!!

We spent our anniversary weekend at this gem, Magnolia House. It was immaculate, peaceful and restorative. Jill, the Innkeeper was there to assist us while the Owners were vacationing. She treated the Inn as if it were her own, and she treated us like family, not just guests. Our breakfasts were of gourmet caliber. We went to Magnolia House at the recommendation of our friends, who stayed there in July. We certainly will return and we will refer others to this wonderful Inn in Fredericksburg, TX.

Last Thursday my two sisters and I checked in at the charming Magnolia House Bed and Breakfast on Hackberry Street in Fredericksburg, Tx, and were surprised at how lovely the 1923, 4,000 square foot house that awaited us looked. The pictures we had seen on the internet did hold justice to how beautiful the house was furnished and decorated with matching drapes, bed and wall decor. The room was filled with all the amenities a weary traveler needs such as robes hanging in the closet, fresh towels and room service daily each morning. In the Bluebonnet Suite we had a 1948 refrigerator with a carafe filled with wine, canned drinks, and bottles of cold water! There was even the nice touch such as a lint brush hanging on the bedroom door. Cookies and wine were sit out in the living room for all the guests to share in the afternoon. Breakfast was divine! Lisa and Claude were our hosts and they were the most gracious couple. Claude was the chef and Lisa did about everything else. Each morning the table would be decorated in a different manner, maybe different colors or porcelain animals and always fresh flowers everywhere, even the rooms. It was such fun meeting travelers from different parts of Texas and leaving Magnolia House with new friends, just over a few cups of coffee a scone, and maybe a waffle. I plan to go back again. I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else in Fredricksburg now and this was my first time to experience a B&B. I told may husband he has got to experience the Magnolia House!

This was the most wonderful experience. Claude and Lisa have created a warm, inviting atmosphere. The entire house was very clean and expertly maintained in a historical period setting. Claude is superb chef, the breakfast meals were better than what We have had in 5 star hotels. They keep all the details in mind and made us feel as welcome as old friends in their home. We recommend Magnolia House to everyone who is visiting Fredricksburg, TX

Simply put, the Magnolia House was the best B&B at which we had ever stayed. Claude and Lisa both are master innkeepers and they work together to cover every contigency, all to give their guests an outstanding experience.

There are no words to describe the outstanding hospitality my sister Michelle and I received during our stay at the Magnolia House. This was our very first time at a B&B. I don't think I would ever want to stay at a hotel again. Claude and Lisa are wonderful hosts. Our room was very clean, adorable and spacious. The bathroom was clean and spacious as well. They thought of everything a guest should have or need. Loved the complimentary drinks , wine and snacks. It's definitely a home away from home. The breakfast was delicious. Claude should be a professional chef. It was my birthday weekend and this stay really made it extra special. I am definitely coming back to Magnolia House whenever I am in Fredericksburg or near the area. On a scale of 1-10 , this place is an 11! If you ever get to travel to Fredericksburg , stay at the Magnolia House. You will not be disappointed. Thaks again , Claude and Lisa! - Patricia Van Leur

We spent two nights in the Lilli Marleen room at Magnolia House to celebrate our anniversary. It couldn't have been more perfect! The hosts, Lisa and Claude, are delightful people--gourmet cooks, hospitable hosts and wonderful stewards of this turn of the century home. Visit them and see for yourself!

My husband and I just returned home from a wonderful stay at the Magnolia House. Our visit could not have been better. The accomodations were immaculate and comfortable. The sheets were heavenly!!! From the lavendar bubble bath to a supply of drinks, coffee, tea and wine in the room made the stay even better. The breakfasts were OUTSTANDING!! I purchased the cookbook and hope to replicate the dishes that we had. We thoroughly enjoyed visiting with the other guests and found we all had lots in common. We heard we had some storm damage to our home while we were gone and arrived to a sweet e-mail from Lisa wishing us well. We highly recommend the Magnolia House.

We lucked out on our first outing to Fredericksburg, Tx. By chance, I booked two rooms for my husband and myself and our dear friends from New Jersey at the Magnolia House. We were all more than pleased to meet Lisa and Claude and view our beautiful, spacious rooms. The warm decor, immaculate bathrooms and beautiful garden were more than we could have hoped for. Claude's gormet cookies and breakfasts were truly a treat. If you are planning a trip to Fredericksburg in the future, I stronly suggest that you stay at the Magnolia House. You will not be disappointed. We hope to go back soon.

The Magnolia Houst has a quiet and lovely setting in a comfortable home. The breakfast and amenities are outstanding. Owners live in a small cottage behind the house and can be called upon if needed. Soft music plays in the morning room to relax with a glass of wine in the evening, or coffee and the paper in the morning. Comfortable beds and all necessary provisions are supplied. Privacy is good, even for the rooms with detached baths.

The Magnolia House is truly home away from home! Claude & Lisa made our stay so enjoyable. The gourmet breakfast was absolutely delicious. We enjoyed sitting out by the Koi Pond having our cheese & wine. The Magnolia House is located in a quiet neighborhood not far the Main Street action. The beds were so comfy!!!!! You have to try the Magnolia House when you visit Fredericksburg, I know we ladies will definetly be back!!!!

The Magnolia House is unparalleled in quality, attention to detail, value, cleanliness and service. Lisa and Claude are gracious hosts and they made us feel like we were visiting old friends, instead of paying guests. A few friends and myself were on a one day shopping trip in Fredericksburg and decided to stay at this B & B due to the excellent ratings. This B & B lives up to those ratings and then some! There is nothing Lisa and Claude have not thought of. When you think of Southern charm and hospitality...you will think of the Magnolia House after your stay. Claude's culinary skills are amazing and you can tell he loves what he does. Each dish was beautifully plated on pretty china, delicious and served in the beautiful dining room. The common areas are equally impressive and the property is very nice. Much to our surprise on this Thursday, we had the whole B & B to ourselves. We checked out every room for future stays and each one was charming and cozy. The Bluebonnet and Magnolia Suites are the true epitome of Southern Charm. The sheets are something to experience and you will want a set for your very own. The afternoon home made cookies, wine, sodas and soft music playing in the living room is just a sample of what this B & B has to offer their guests for a wonderful experience. I would not hesitate to stay there again and would recommend it to everyone. Go visit Lisa and Claude's beautiful home and all it has to offer. We are already planning another trip.

Being a road warrior, I am used to staying in sterile, chain hotels so the Magnolia House was a special treat while in Fredericksburg on business. What a special place! Calude and Lisa were fantastic hosts and made my stay special. I loved the coffee bar set-up in the dining room so that I could indulge my coffee habit at will and my room was spacious and accomodating to the business traveler as well as tourist. I would highly recommend the Magnolia House to anyone visiting Fredericksburg for any reason!

The home was beautiful. We very much enjoyed our room (Peach Blossom), and especially the bath tub, which was so nice it made us run late for check-out time! :-) The innkeepers were fantastic from start to finish. Making reservations was easy, and I really appreciated them letting me make them by phone. I received several reminders of my stay. We were warmly greeted upon arrival and shown the house and our room. Huge perks like the use of a refrigerator, free wine for the taking, and if we had forgotten something (razor, toothbrush, etc), they had those complimentary. The breakfast was FANTASTIC. The service was outstanding. We will certainly be back for another stay. I would (and already have done so) recommend this B&B to anyone I know. Have I said fantastic? I have? Good, it's worth repeating!

Claude and Lisa are a team and make sure you are taking care of in many ways. The home is very clean and nice. They have fresh baked cookies and coffee in the evening. Other beverages are available for the guest anytime during the day. The comfy sheets are the best I have ever slept on. They can be purchased through Lisa. Claude's breakfasts are Oh My are out of this world. Several sitting rooms for you to relax with movies, books and music. The grounds are fun. Sitting areas for you to enjoy your coffee that is freshly prepared for you in mornings. Calude and Lisa go the extra mile to help you feel right at home.

The hosts seem to have thought of everything - luxurious sheets and towels, bathrobes, game collection, DVD collection. There were freshly baked evening cookies, and the breakfast was scrumptious - unusual flavors such as lemon pancakes, eggnog French toast, poached pears, blackberries...we were blown away. When we asked about a restaurant in Marble Falls, they found a quiet, reasonably-priced Italian place that was perfect for meeting a friend. Highly recommended!

The stay at Magnolia House was part of a birthday celebration. The weather was perfect which gave us the opportunity to have a glass of wine in the evening outside by the gold fish pond. The room was larger than expected and the bed was quite comfortable. Both of the breakfasts were outstanding. We enjoyed sharing conversation with several of the other guests during both breakfasts.

This was our first time at a Bed and Breakfast. We couldn't have been more please with our stay. We were pleasantly surprised with their breakfast, it was like having a personal chef. Claude was truly amazing with his cooking skills. Claude and Lisa were great. The Magnolia house is very roomy and the out door space is very nice. We will be back! I highly recommend it to everyone. You will not be dissappointed.

Our most recent trip to Magnolia House was a family event to celebrate my Dad's 80th birthday. My husband and I had stayed there before, but my Mom, Dad and sister had not been there. They had heard us rave about it, and agreed that it absolutely lived up to our gushing. The rooms are great, and Claude and Lisa have taken care of every detail. Claude's breakfasts are exceptional, with amazing choices that make each day very special. If you're ever going to Fredericksburg, you MUST stay at Magnolia House!

Thank you for the stellar hospitality. The house is beautiful, the surrounds lovely (despite the drought) and a very nice quiet neighbourhood made for great sleeping - not to mention those incredibly comfortable sheets. If it wasn't so darn hot I'm sure we would have enjoyed many a walk around the neighbourhood or down to Main Street but given the 100+ temps we opted for the air-conditioned car most days. Breakfasts were great, I wish I could have finished them!

This was our first B&B, but if all of them are like this, we are definitely doing this again. It is more expensive than a hotel room, but the beautifully decorated cozy feeling room and quaint old home charm make it seem worth it. Claude and Lisa were very gracious hosts and tried to make us feel right at home (literally). Claude is an amazing cook, so breakfast was beyond our hopes. Even though we want to try other B&Bs, we will more than likely be going back to Magnolia House again as well, only this time we will stay longer.

My wife and I stayed in the bluebonnet suite. We loved it! Claude and Lisa were excellent hosts and breakfast was awesome and very filling (we only needed to snack before dinner)! The location is a little far to walk to Main St for shopping but it's a short car ride or perfect bike riding distance. They also provide refreshments like wine and cokes, coffee and tea for you to grab during the day (or night). We would definitely stay at Magnolia House again and will recommend it to friends.

The Magnolia House was a wonderful two days of elegance and peaceful rest. The Bluebonnet Suite was tastefully decorated, with wonderful bedding , totally private, quite and peaceful surroundings. We have stayed in many B&Bs, but this one will be the only one we stay at in Fredricksburg from now on. The Innkeepers were delightful. The gardens were pristine with lovely spots throughout for just sitting and enjoying the flowers, water pond, fountains, koi fish, shade trees....If you must connect your dread computer - they have internet connection but if you need rest this is the spot. The afternoon handmade snacks and beverages were a surprise as were the delicious breakfasts. The Innkeepers thought of all the details from lavendar bath salts to jars of chocolates in the rooms. The libraries both books, dvds, cd's and magazine/newspapers were lavish compared to some B&B's. The complimentary wine caraf of delicious wine was a special treat. We highly recommend this delightful inn.

We stayed three nights at the Magnolia House, starting Sunday May 29, 2011. Since this was our second stay in 13 months, we decided to try a different Suite - the Magnolia Suite. I recently stayed at the Magnolia House Bed and Breakfast while I was in Fredericksburg on a Girls Weekend Away with two friends. Our visit and stay could not possibly have been better. Claude and Lisa are the most charming hosts and we felt so welcomed in this lovely home. They have not missed a single detail in making the Magnolia House the best Bed and Breakfast that I have ever stayed in. The linens on the bed are divine - I didn't want to come home to the ones on my bed! There are wonderful robes provided in the rooms. All rooms have a television with a DVD player and Claude and Lisa have a closet full of DVD's from which to chose. The bathrooms have every amenity needed, including a hair dryer. Claude and Lisa leave wine, sodas and water in a refrigerator for guests to take, at no additional charge. And at 3 pm every day a wonderful treat appears. We had brownies and cookies and they were so yummy. The breakfast is beyond outstanding. There is a beautiful first course of fruit and a pastry followed by the main course. The two days that we were there the breakfasts had a delicious egg dish, pancakes and sausage one day and a spinach, mushroom casserole, french toast and local ham the next day. We go to Fredericksburg frequently and from now on our stay will always be at the Magnolia House. Next time my husband and I will take our bicycles to ride the beautiful Texas Hill Country and they can be safely placed in the garage at the Magnolia House. Every moment of our stay here was absolutely fantastic!

The Magnolia House provides the extras that make this bed and breakfast a cut above the rest. It starts with the cookies and continues with the extras especially with the robes and bathroom accessories. The room was perfect very clean with a comfortable bed and furnished just right. You feel like home there and Lisa and Claude are there if you need them for anything. The breakfast is simply the best Claude can cook with the best of them. We will return again and again.

This was our second visit since our honeymoon in 1995. The new owners, Claude & Lisa, have really done some outstanding changes to all aspects of what a B&B is suppose to be all about. The grounds are beautiful to enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning. The gorgeous interior is very welcoming and has a good spirit. The owners are very pleasing and are on top of everything to the smallest detail. Wow, the breakfast is absolutely wonderful and they even have a book of recipes available. Too bad we only had a few days stay. Will be back as soon as possible. Highly, highly recommend this B&B. It's the Best!

Claude and Lisa are wonderful hosts. They have thought of everything you might need and have prepared for it. They are knowledgeable about the area, the restaurants and festivals in the area. We stayed July 4 weekend and went to a local winery they recommended and enjoyed the best fireworks! This trip we were there to see bluebonnets and there were none, but they had information on many other things going on in the area. Claude's cooking is amazing! There is something for everyone and it all ties in so nicely together to complete the breakfast. They are lovely people, so friendly and want you to enjoy your stay with them as well as your stay in the area. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The patio is so peaceful. The home is comfortable and there is plenty of room. Don't pass this one up! Stay here if you are in the Fredericksburg area!

I went up to Fredericksburg for a long weekend and booked Magnolia House based on reviews I found online. Lisa and Claude run a great B&B, and Claude's food is great. Everything he made tasted wonderful and there was a lot of it! I only had to eat 2 meals a day, since breakfast was so filling. The suite I stayed in was large and so pretty, but the walls are pretty thin, so if your neighbor is snoring loud, you will hear it! I would definitely come back here on my next trip.

This is was our second trip to Magnoila House Bed & Breakfast and it was just as perfect as the first trip. We felt peaceful and relaxed from the moment we got there until the moment we left. We've stayed at many b&b's through the years and have generally loved every one of them. In addition to the beautiful room, fantastic food, cleanliness, etc., what made this one particularly outstanding was the friendliness and the helpfulness of the owners: they gave us ideas for where to eat, what to do, etc., and were so responsive to little details about us, such as noticing that I like several cups of coffee early in the morning with lots of half and half, both of which they provided generously! We would definitely stay there again!

Magnolia House was by far the best experience I've ever had at a B&B. First, it was a lovely, and lovingly cared for, old home. Lisa and Claude are in the right business as they made me and my sister feel so welcome, comfortable and "at home". Lisa gave the welcoming tour and Claude did the cooking. His breakfasts rival anything you will find in any of the "finer" restaurants or Hotels anywhere. They were beautiful, delicious, interesting and unique. Every afternoon, there would be goodies on the buffet in the form of brownies, lemon-ginger cookies or chocolate chip-oatmeal cookies. Coffee and tea were always available. Our room was lovely and charming, not to mention comfortable. And the sheets were the softest I have ever felt. I will visit there again one day and will recommend Magnolia House to everyone looking for a lovely, quiet and charming place to go for a get-away.

Ok, I don't like B&B's. I've only stayed at 6 or so and have never been pleased with them. I prefer anonymity to intimacy when I'm on vacation and find that the inconveniences of B&B's far outweigh any charm or marginal breakfast they provide. I called to check availability and spoke to Claude. I was immediately impressed with his friendliness and reasonable cancellation policies. The house is deceptively large. The first thing I noticed when Lisa was giving us the tour was the condition of the house. This house is amazingly maintained. All the doors that I used were smooth and tight and the walls were free of settle cracks. The paint was fresh and bright and carpets clean and in good condition. But, the thing that is most impressive for me is the cleanliness. This place is super clean. I didn't see any dust or dirt anywhere. The bedroom and bath were spotless. Even the vents and registers looked new. It almost had a "new construction" clean about everything, nothing collected in corners or out of the way places. The second thing I noticed was a tremendous attention to detail. They pay very close attention to even the smallest details and everything that can, has their name on it from towels and robes to soap and ink pens as well as full candy dishes all throughout the house and rooms. Now for the charm of inconvenience. Some rooms have baths in the room but ours actually had separate toilet and shower area. We had to go through a small common hall to access the toilet on the right or shower on the left. So, we had to don robes to go to bathroom or take a bath. Not my favorite feature, but what can you do. Breakfast: The food at the Magnolia House is higher end restaurant quality. We ate 3 meals and never had the same thing twice. T Another really nice touch is an old icebox that’s converted to a community fridge. They keep water bottles and soft drinks on hand and there’s space for you to store you leftovers from restaurants.

I have stayed at many B & B's and this one is at the top of my list. Very clean, private and comfortable. I only had one breakfast there and it was amazing, but my husband and son ate every morning and said breakfast was the best ever. If you are looking for a clean, comfortable place to stay close to town this is the place.

My husband and I had never been to a B&B before, and we enjoyed our stay imensley. This past weekend was our 2 year aniversary. The idea of being in a home away from home was comforting. Claude and Lisa were very sweet and attentive. Breakfast was five star. The sheets and the Robes were UH-mazing!! The living spaces downstairs and the outside patio were so inviting and relaxing. The home is full of character and the other couples were a delight to meet. The only thing I would change is the mattress. It was a bit firm for me, but maybe some are ok with that. The sheets definetley made up for it. We have been ruined. B&B's are the best way to go when traveling or even a staycation. I would definetley visit and recommend Magnolia House!! This will be an aniversary we will never forget. Thank You again Claude and Lisa. Chad and Zana

Lisa and Claude provide a wonderful atmosphere that is like staying in the elegant home of a good friend. Wine and cookies in the "family room" every afternoon and evening. Open refrigerator with wine, juice and water available at all times. Wonderful, full breakfasts prepared by Claude, e.g., homemade raspberry scones one morning. Decorations are exquisite. The smallest details are taken care of. Very charming home, nice backyard, good location - about 1/2 mile from the main street of Fredericksburg.

The Magnolia House was one of the best B&B’s we have ever stayed in. I took my wife there – without her knowing where we were going. It was a great surprise and our hosts, Claude and Lisa were great. The breakfasts were awesome and it is located right down the block from the square. We will definitely be going back again.

We relied on the positive reviews of this B and B so chose the Magnolia Suite for our two-day visit to Fredericksburg. We were not disappointed. The only "drawback" was that Fredericksburg is such an interesting destination that we didn't have enough time to enjoy the comfort and attractiveness of Magnolia House! Claude and Lisa especially emphasize the serving of a wonderful breakfast - unique recipes, beautifully presented. The house is a well-constructed and maintained and historic Arts and Craft home which has maintained its original charm over the years.

Absolutely stellar B&B from the delicious elaborate breakfasts, warm homemade cookies in the afternoon, calm & inviting backyard koi pond patio area, home full of history and beautifully appointed rooms, close location to Main, accurate and insightful restaurant suggestions, free wi-fi, accessibility to biking routes, incredibly soft linens on the beds and nice selection of DVD's to watch after a full day exploring Fredericksburg. Claude & Lisa's attention to detail and anticipating their guests needs without being intrusive make this our favorite B&B experience yet. We will be back!

The Magnolia House is a wonderful place to relax and get away...my wife had a wonderful experience there and really enjoyed the surrounding area too. Close enough to walk to downtown main street, and Fredricksburg is a great weekend spot.

Everything from the food to the accomadating and warm hosts makes this b and b one of our favorites by far We will definitely return.

My boyfriend took me to Fredericksburg for a romantic weekend getaway. We got engaged while we were there and Lisa and Claude made our stay very special. I couldn't have asked for more thoughtful and accommodating innkeepers!

We found Magnolia House on TA and booked it based on previous reviews. It far exceeded our expectations. So many nice little touches that made this B&B our favorite to date. The Blue Bonnet Suite is great...a sitting area and kitchen! The breakfast was outstanding and the bed linens...well I ordered a set for home! :) So glad we decided to stop in on a whim! When in Fredericksburg, the Magnolia House is a must!

My husband and I had our first experience at a Bed and Breakfast at the Magnolia House in Fredricksberg, Texas and couldn't have picked a more pleasant place to stay. Claude and Lisa Saunders were fantastic hosts and made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in the door. We learned the history of the house that was built in the 1920's and about the original owners. The house was immaculate and grounds were very well kept. The four huge Manolia trees in the front yard were evidently the source of the name of the house. The breakfasts were beyond compare and all the attention to details from refillable water bottles, to forgotten neccesities, to afternoon treats was marvelous. We were definately pampered without being overwhelmed. We hope to be guests at this home again...maybe to celebrate our next anniversary.

Claude and Lisa were fabulous hosts, very welcoming. They were also able to answer all our questions about the area. They recommended two wonderful restaurants for our evening dining. The B&B was very relaxing, lots of extra special touches to make it feel homey and enhance the stay. Claude is a outstanding and creative cook - he combines local flavor to make the special breakfasts. The afternoon baked goodies are a neat extra.
5 on July 07, 2010
We had a great stay with Lisa and Claude. Breakfasts were delicious and delightfully served. Attention to extra details were not overlooked - from freshly baked cookies each afternoon to wine carafes filled for guests enjoyment, this couple sure knows how to make someone feel welcome.

My husband and I received a gift certificate to Magnolia House and were so pleased with our stay. We frequently stay at bed and breakfast inns when we travel and both agree that Magnolia House rates near the top of our experiences. The inn is very thoughtfully equipped with snacks, drinks, and movies, and both innkeepers gave us a warm and personal welcome. My husband and I both have dietary restrictions that have caused other innkeepers concern in the past, but Claude and Lisa took it all perfectly in stride and made us each individual meals that satisfied all of our dietary restrictions and were absolutely delicious. We hope to stay at Magnolia House again for another getaway soon now that we know such a comfortable stay is available to us.

The other guests were pleasant people and we enjoyed visiting with them.We also enjoyed the very large assortment of movies and music. We were in the morning room every morning early so we could enjoy the dieliious smells coming from the baking that Claude was doing. The upkeep of the grounds was great, very neat and enjoyable.

The Magnolia House is a fabulous bed & breakfast. I have been about 7 times, with hubby, girlfriends and family. It is ALWAYS very clean, very comfortable. Great house with character and history. Friendly hosts and a "to die for " gourmet breakfast! The best part:) Would recommend this B&B to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway.

Excellent bed and breakfast - close to everything in Fredericksburg, TX - breakfast was very good and filling (excellent chef) - hospitality was superb - premises were very well kept and the home felt just like that ... a home. My wife and I were traveling for our 25th anniversary (2nd honeymoon) and we stayed 2 nights at the Magnolia House. That's the best decision I have made in choosing places to stay. It was perfect.

This was a girls weekend of shopping in Fredericksburg. We stayed at The Magnolia House and it was a wonderful experience. This was a great find. We've never stayed in a bed and breakfast before, but this one exceeded our expectations. We stayed in The Bluebonnet Suite which was quite roomy. It had a little kitchen which was quit convenient. The breakfast was wonderful each morning. We were staying at the bed and breakfast with other family members to celebrate my parents 60th wedding anniversary. Claude and Lisa even made reservations to a restaurant they suggested and my parents had a wonderful time.

The setting of Magnolia House in Fredericksburg, TX is not only beautiful, but is peaceful and tranquil as well. The owners, Claude and Lisa provided outstanding hospitality and guest service. They have truly gone the extra mile to appoint the house with all a guest might need and warmly welcomed us initially and throughout our stay, letting us know they were available for any question or need that might arise. Claude prepares the most delicious gourmet breakfast that you can imagine. Let’s just leave it at that so you too can be surprised, but let me just say, “yum”! We stayed in the Lilli Marleen room. It is beautiful, warm and cozy. The owners were also kind enough to allow us to see unoccupied rooms and suites before we left. We found all of them to be fabulous, each unique and inviting. We learned that Magnolia House was built is the 1920’s by it’s original owner Edward Stein who was an architect. He took great pains to pay attention to every detail. The results are outstanding! I thoroughly enjoyed the home’s architecture with old style built-ins and nooks throughout the home including gorgeous fireplaces and glass cabinetry. The furnishings are gorgeous and distinctive, yet every single place I sat was “oh so comfortable” as well. I found not only one but several favorite places to sit, relax and take in the beauty of the home and grounds. In the evenings and mornings, one favorite was relaxing at the covered patio table by the koi pond. In the afternoons, I enjoyed the warmth of the sun on the front porch in a very comfortable wicker chaise. The porch is the perfect outdoor reading spot as you can feel the warmth of the sun, yet you are shaded. In addition, the way the porch is designed the opening between the bottom railing and the roof is huge; this creates a truly awesome panoramic view of the grounds’ Magnolia trees. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Magnolia House and highly recommend to others.

Our visit to Magnolia House was lovely! The house itself is charming and the facilities were excellent. What made the visit outstanding, though, was the hosts! Lisa and Claude are creative, gracious, and thoughtful. Our visit featured many little "extras" and "surprises" designed to make guests feel at home. I really cannot think of anything they could have done to make our visit more enjoyable than it was! The breakfasts were a treat, and the hospitality was wonderful. We highly recommend it!

This was the first time for our "girls" trip. We couldn't have found a more wonderful place to stay. The breakfast's by Claude, with Lisa's help, were incredible and something to look forward to each morning. The house is historic with beauty and charm. The owners have thought of everything to make a guests' stay perfect and just like they had the amenities of home. Our BlueBonnett suite was perfect and we had the freedom to move around the main house as we wanted, to sit and talk, play games, sit outside or pick up a sweet goodie around 3 pm. We loved everything about our time at the Magnolia House and Fredericksburg. Lisa and Claude are knowledgeable about the area and are the perfect host and hostess. Thank you!!!

This was my 2nd visit (stayed with a friend last fall) to Magnolia and the 1st for my husband - everything was wonderful and as I expected my husband loved it too! Claude & Lisa run a first-rate B&B - you can depend on it! The gourmet breakfast was superb - fresh juice, homemade scones, scrambled egg casserole, german sausage & blueberry pancakes! The sitting areas and our room were perfectly clean and organized with wonderful little touches which we appreciated: freshly baked cookies at arrival, wines, teas, cider, sodas & water always available, flashlights near the bed, cabinet stocked with necessities in case we forgot something. If you're not a fan of claw-foot tubs, rest assured they have done a terrifice job with the shower attachment - the best I've seen! At breakfast, we were impressed but not surprised that several of the others had been coming to the Magnolia for years - one couple has come twice a year for 9 years! P.S. Don't miss a visit to Wildseed Farms just outside of town & Rather Sweet Bakery on the main street! We enjoyed dinner at the Cabernet Grill too.

The Magnolia House Bed and Breakfast was one of the best I have ever stayed and. My husband I always try to stay at a bed and breakfast when we travel and this one was GREAT. The food was wonderful and there was more than enough to fill you up and all home cooking. There were always mid afternoon homemade baked goods for a snack and there were always drinks of all kinds any time you wanted. My husband and I enjoyed borrowing a movie from their collection and relaxing on our room in the evening watching a movie. The owners were very knowledgeable about the town and things to see and do. It was very clean and very much like home you are made to feel VERY WELCOME. I would recomend this to anyone traveling to Fredericksburg.

The house is just down the street from all of the shopping. A must stay if in Fredericksburg...

Lisa and Claude were very hospitable from the moment we arrived. We received a historical, logistical tour of the house and its amenities along with recommendations for dinner. Our quarters were just beautiful and clean, clean, clean. Breakfast the next morning was outstanding and gourmet served on antique china with crystal and silver sides. They enabled us to chat at leisure with our fellow travelers and we all left feeling the better for it! Would definitely return to Magnolia House!

Our stay at Magnolia House was a surprise birthday present for me. We had never stayed at a B&B before and did not know what to expect. WOW!! The home and the grounds are in excellent condition. Claude and Lisa are wonderful hosts. We had one of the suites and it felt almost like home with a private entrance and private bathroom. Claude and Lisa had beverages & snacks available at all times. There were cookies as an afternoon/evening treat. The breakfasts were very good. The one drawback with Magnolia House being our first experience with a B&B is we are now so spoiled I don't know how many others can meet our expectations. We were spoiled rotten.

Claude Saunders did an amazing job with gourmet 2-course breakfast served on different china each morning of our stay. The antiques in each room are complimented by modern amenities and luxurious linens. Don't miss the small dishes of chocolate in every room or the home made snacks every afternoon. Whenever we are in Fredericksburg, Texas again, the Magnolia House will definitely be our first choice for accommodations!

We would definitely stay there when we visit again. The rooms and bathrooms are very nice and roomy also.

I have no problem recommending the Magnolia House to anyone -- especially those leary of staying in someone else's home.

This was our first experience at a bed and breakfast so we were not sure what to expect. What we got was a wonderful experience which has turned us on to B&B's versus the mainstream hotel/motel route. We were put to ease from the moment we walked in the door. We were greeted with warmth and given a tour of the facilities which were much nicer than we ever would have imagined. The facilities were top notch from the bedrooms, to the common areas both inside (full of snacks, reading and movie materials) and outside (wonderful garden area complete with coy pond and outdoor fireplace). The Bedrooms we stayed in had a separate living room and bathroom areas and were decorated beautifully. We had a full suite of bathroom items all ready in the room in case we had forgotten anything. The Breakfast Service was included as was phenomenal as each morning we were greeted with new and exciting meals which were absolutely wonderful. Claude and Lisa (The Owners) were extremely helpful long before we got there as they made the reservation process smooth and got us all of our dinner reservations throughout our stay well ahead of time, thanks to them listing all of the dining options on their website. Fredericksburg is a quiet little getaway in wine country in which you can take a wine tour to any of the 20 local wineries, or just enjoy the multitude of shopping available in all the shops around town, we did both! The B&B is located just off the Main street and is very close to everything you need to enjoy your weekend getaway, if you can pull yourself away from the amenities the B&B's offers!

Claude and Lisa are incredible hosts who see to your every need and think of everything - snacks, beverages, toiletries far beyond what other places make available, plush robes, comfortable and well-appointed rooms, reading materials, movies, tourist information, the list goes on and on! And the breakfasts!!!! We got to enjoy a homemade gourmet breakfast every morning that was better than any other B&B and better than most upscale restaurants. My husband and I planned to sleep in while we were there, but once we tasted breakfast, we were at the table each morning! We stayed in the Bluebonnet Suite, which was a lovely, comfortable, and roomy place to call our home away from home. While not decorated in our personal style, it had everything we could possibly want or need including a great view of the pretty backyard. We will definitely be back!

My husband and I and another couple visited Magnolia House on May 1-3, 2009. With it just being off the Main Street of Fredericksberg, I thought it might be noisy. What a delight to find the property well maintained, beautiful, quiet with comfortable outdoor seating around a pond of fish. The accommodations were fantastic, the breakfasts were delicious and well presented and the hosts so very accommodating. An overall wonderful experience, and one we will repeat.

Our visit to Magnolia House was unbelievable! Nearly impossible to describe the beauty of this home and the thoughtfulness of the hosts, Claude and Lisa! They haven't missed a beat! The house itself is gorgeous, yet comfy and cozy. The backyard gardens are serene and inviting. Guests can enjoy motion furniture, a fish pond, water fall and fountain! There were so many special touches all day long....free-flowing red and white wine, treats in the afternoon, cold soft drinks, plush robes, flashlights at bedside! The breakfasts are enormous and absolutely delicious! Beautiful presentation on antique china, accompanied by crystal stemware and sterling silver flatware. A lovely way to start your day! We can hardly wait to return! A truly incredible experience. Thank you so much, Claude and Lisa, for turning your business into so much more than that....a loving retreat for all who are lucky enough to come to Magnolia House.

Everything was outstanding. The host and hostess were charming and personable. Chef Claude could work in a 5 star restaurant with his culinary skills for breakfast. It was clean, convenient to downtown, quiet and overall very pleasing and relaxing. We stayed in the Lili Marleen room pictured at right. It was spacious enough to accommodate the three of us quite comfortably.

Even though it was not Spring yet, the outdoor area was very attractive and enjoyable as we sat and had a drink by the waterfall with gold fish swimming in it and rocked in the double seated rod iron swings. In our room, the windows were open because it was a beautiful day and I love having the fresh air sweep through the beautiful room. Every evening, a fresh batch of homemade cookies were made for the guest and you could enjoy a glass of wine as well.

The week's stay at this B&B far exceeded my expectations. Lisa & Claude were the ultimate hostess and host. They personally greeted us, took us on a tour of the house and showed us to the room where a every afternoon snack is available along with a refrigerator stocked full of water, cans of sodas and white wine. Claude is a master in the kitchen and his creations are just wonderful. We only needed that meal and dinner. They recommended restaurants for each night and those also were excellent. They obviously have all the secrets of what it takes to make a visit to their "home" extremely special. Nothing is missing!!! I have already recommended this B&B to several people and I will certainly be back. Thanks to Claude and Lisa for making this trip so special.

We had a wonderful time in Fredricksburg, TX and loved our stay at the Magnolia House. The house was very clean and comfortable. We stayed in the Bluebonnet room that has a private entrance as well as a small kitchenette that was stocked with a fridge full of drinks and a coffee pot with coffee, tea or hot chocolate. There was also a separate living area from the bedroom that allowed my early rising husband to watch the news while I got a few extra minutes of beauty rest. Claude and Lisa Saunders were perfect hosts. They were very knowledgeable about the local points of interest and while being very friendly, they were not intrusive. We would recommend the Magnolia House to anyone planning a visit to Fredricksburg! Kim and Steve Ford

Our first experience at a B&B was at The Magnolia House in Fredericksburg and it definitely won't be our last visit! Not knowing what to expect, we received a warm welcome from Claude and Lisa. Everything from the chocolate kisses in our room to the homemade cookies and hot chocolate before bed gave us a cozy feeling of spending the weekend with friends. Our room was spacious, clean, and very bright and overlooked the fish pond in the backyard. My favorite part of the room was the attached attic bathroom! Lunch was never needed as Claude prepared a huge breakfast each morning (I bought the cookbook so that I might attempt to re-create some of his recipes!). Claude and Lisa have created a "Home away from home" with their Magnolia House. J&B from Kingwood, Texas

The best B&B in Fredericksburg! Guests are pampered beyond belief! We walked in, end of a hot day, and there were homemade cookies waiting for us, cold drinks in the frig, and wine was waiting. Our room was fully stocked with everything you'd want in a nice hotel, including beautiful robes in the closet. The B&B was spotless. Guests have the whole house to enjoy. The breakfasts rank as fine dining. This is a first class operation and you won't be disapponted. Very quiet neighborhood away from the main drag, which has a lot of traffic.

This was the best B&B experience we've ever had. From the moment of contacting the owners directly to book a room, until check-out, everything was flawless. Magnolia House is a 1920's country home perfectly converted into a B&B. This house has 5 rooms, each with a private bath. Room values are very good. You are made to feel at home from the moment you step inside. Everything was spotless. The property has a garden and koi pond where guests can relax as if they were in their own backyard. Snacks, refreshments, and wine were complimentary in the afternoons and evenings. In the morning with the other guests we had the most delightful 2 course breakfast prepared by the owner himself. Fresh pinnapple with blackberries and pasteries for the 1st course, and the most delicious fresh strawberry country-style pancakes with a poached eggs and ham for the 2nd course. i highly recommend this gem in Fredericksburg, TX.

My husband and I stayed at the Magnolia House in Dec. and I highly recommend this B&B to anyone wanting to stay in the Fredericksburg TX area. We stayed in the Bluebonnet Suite, which was wonderful, but we were also able to tour most of the other rooms. Claude and Lisa Saunders are truly inkeepers extraordinaire. The attention to detail in each and every room is incredible. While we were there the Inn was decorated for the holidays, and even the bathrooms had holiday decor! Our room was totally charming, cozy, warm and extremely comfortable. The breakfast was absolutely incredible. No continental breakfast here, but the kind of breakfast that would be served in a fine restaurant. The homemade coffee cake, served warm, was to die for, as were the fresh fruit and the eggs. After two bites we knew we wanted to buy the Magnolia House cookbook, and have already made a few of the recipes at home. If you want a bed and breakfast in Fredericksburg TX, the Magnolia House is THE place to stay. You won't be disappointed by the lodging, and you will love the wonderful hospitality supplied by its hosts, Claude and Lisa Saunders. Five stars!!

We three women found this b&b on a lark, and luckily there was a room available for one night. The hosts were so friendly and the house was a dream. It provided the ideal experience.

Our trip to Fredericksburg in early February, 2007 was so special and it was made complete by our stay at The Magnolia House. Claude and Lisa Saunders are perfect hosts and their lovely home is comfortable and tastefully decorated. We can't say enough about Claude's delicious gourmet breakfasts; the table setting, presentation and the expertly prepared breakfasts were fabulous. The American Beauty Room was beautifully decorated and met all of our needs. We have stayed in several B&B establishments and this ranks at the top.
