Barons CreekSide featured in the HILL COUNTRY MAGAZINE: "....stands out as extra-special" ! And CABELAS has chosen the property to shoot their fashion catalog for the last three years. Two creeks are running trough 26 rolling acres. Listen to the sounds of nature on your porch ..and if you are ready for downtown Fredericksburg: its only a 2 minute drive. The best of both worlds. The "Swiss Log Cabins" were reconstructed from a 250 year old farmhouse that was shipped from Switzerland to Fredericksburg. Rustic elegance at its best. Whether you want a romantic weekend or gather with friends. All cabins have their own kitchenette or full kitchen(..the gentlemen usually sneak into town early in the morning to get some fresh goodies from one of the German bakeries). We can accommodate up to 53 guests in 16 different cabins and the Big Lodge. Great fishing just steps away from the cabins.

We stayed in the Lucerne sweet for a romantic getaway and it did not disappoint. Bring some extra food for the super friendly ducks. They'll come right up to your door and hang out. Also, make sure to wake up early at least one morning to catch the sunrise from your front porch. It is quite peaceful

Stayed in the Baron's Wagon with one of my best friends from college, and my two daughters, ages 7 and 12. It was like getting to be on the Oregon Trail, but way more comfortable and full of the cutest and most thoughtful little accents. The queen bed was incredibly comfortable, and the bunk beds were solidly built. In addition, the owners were incredibly friendly. Daniel came to meet us when we arrived and gave us a tour of the property, introducing the cats, and showing my girls where they could wade in the creek. The girls had an amazing adventure hiking through the creek and attempting to fish with the sticks they found along the way. Deborah came to check-in in the the morning to make sure everything had been great. I would be slightly concerned about staying in the Wagon when it is too hot, but the AC unit in the wagon did a surprisingly good job of keeping it cool. Overall it was a grand adventure, and no one died of dysentery or cholera. (If you never played Oregon Trail ignore the reference to dying!) We did partake in the onsite dining, but could not post a review without giving a score.

We didn't use any on-site dining so can not rate that one. The accommodations were awesome. We plan on returning.

Lovely cabins and property. Soothing bubbling stream in front of cabins, nice area to hike nearby. Bed was very comfortable , cute decorative items in cabin gave it authentic feel. Feel like tub and bathroom toilet needed updated. Toilet needed tighten up as it was loose. Would also prefer a larger tv.

We live in Austin but I've never been to Fredericksburg, so I looked for a place for my husband and I to get away from SXSW and Spring Break crowds. I could not have been more delighted by the setting, our cabin (Zug, the newest), and the hospitality of Daniel and Deborah. While we enjoyed Fredericksburg, it always felt like home when we came back. We also recommend the Club for excellent food, wine, food, and service.

Service was excellent! Rooms were very clean and charmingly decorated. Bed linens were okay, but slippery over mattress pad. It's a bit pricey but you get a private porch and a view of a wonderfully natural, yet man-made stream. Onsite dining had a very nice cheese plate and the complimentary glass of champagne was delicious.
The original old 2 bedroom farmhouse. The deck overlooks large mesquite trees. Private outdoor" Hot tub" under the stars and a fire pit. Lots of privacy and pet friendly. The Mesquite Farmhouse offers lots of privacy and it has a private dog run, so its truly PET FRIENDLY. Closest to our famous fish hole. You always have the whole house for yourself !
The original Kentucky Log Cabin from the 17th century, very private and cozy, ok with kids and pets as well. The most private of our Log Cabins with a fireplace. Kids and pet friendly. An original hand-crafted bed is the focal point of this romantic bedroom. The bed has rustic wood posts with an old iron gate as a headboard. Special touches include a stained glass window found in the highest point of the eve over the bed.

Daniel is from Switzerland where he still lives half the year. He started to create "Barons CreekSide" the little Swiss village 5 years ago which is now one of if not THE most desired romantic getaway in the Hill Country. Several TV shows and fashion catalogs were produced at Barons CreekSide.
