We had tickets to "The Caverns" to see Bluegrass Underground and wanted to stay nearby so we didn't have a long drive home. I wasn't sure how easy it would be to stay in Monteagle and go to the Caverns in Pelham but it was very easy and convenient. And very much worth it. Every single thing, from the friendliness of the staff and extra efforts they made to put a little surprise in the room for my husband while we were out to dinner... the bed (those sheets are amazing!), the balcony overlooking the courtyard... every single thing was perfect. The breakfast was amazing and even though this was on the higher side of what we would have normally paid for an overnight stay, we felt that it was worth every single penny. We stayed in the Laurel Falls room with a king size bed and a balcony where my husband could enjoy a smoke. The Inn was full when we were there and we never heard or saw any other guests except for at breakfast. It was like our own private retreat. We will definitely return to Monteagle Inn and we highly recommend it. Deborah was very accommodating with our special requests and we even met the Innkeeper, Jim Harmon. By the way, do not hesitate to eat at High Point. Again, a terrific recommendation by our friends at Monteagle Inn and it was romantic and delicious and very reasonably priced for what you got. Lots of history there (Al Capone's hideaway). I cannot say enough about our entire experience. We had fun at the event but equally wonderful was our short stay at the Monteagle Inn. We will definitely make a point to get there again. Soon, I hope!

I came to the Monteagle Inn for a wedding, so my overnight stay was very brief. However, everyone I met was delightfully service minded. Ready coffee, comfortable and well-lit room, some of the softest sheets ever, and a delicious breakfast. It is a place I will keep in mind if a group needs accommodations for a retreat.

1. The Southern hospitality of owners Lee and Jim was evident everyday day and night. Their assistant Lauren was an exceptional person who catered to everyneed. I can't spell or pronounce her name, but Brigeta (?) was also exceptional. The chef for breakfast was very talented and would prepare anything for you. Except Southern "grits" were missing!! I'm sure they can fix this, they had everything else. Plentiful fruit, which was superb! They also catered breakfast to my wife whom suffers with Fibromyalgia and needs help sometimes. Tulula's Lounge was an excellent meeting place for our Class of 1965 socials. Jim organized a cash bar and had two large TV's for our Belmont Stakes party for the Triple Crown race. A Blast!!!
