What a great place to stay! Everything was wonderful and the breakfast was delicious. We will always chose this place to stay in when we come back to Folly!

For the last 3 years this has been my choice of where to spend my birthday! We love the Costa Rican cottage, complete with a porch,,artistic touches but not overdone..We enjoy the option of bicycles to explore the area, and yummy breakfast treats- informal but our cup of tea! Walking distance to the ocean or restaurants, and owners assure great accommodations and welcome. The rooms in the main house are small but cozy- good for the price I imagine, we have never stayed there, as we got spoiled being at the cottage, which is more private and has wonderful furnishings, AC, TV and a nice bath rooml Its all quite unique and charming . We recommend it highly.!

My boyfriend and I stayed here and it was everything we could have imagined. Ginger was so nice and helpful, and the breakfast she had every morning was phenomenal! You are feet away from the shops and restaurants at Folly Beach, a short 5 minute walk from the public access beach, and a 15-20 minute drive to Charleston that feels much shorter than it is. We would definitely recommend this cute little B&B and would stay here again.

My wife and I stayed a total of 3 nights in this cool Bed & Breakfast. Everything was nice. We stayed in the Shabby Chic room, which was comfortable and quiet. Ginger the inn-keeper was nice and personable. The beach is a short walk away. The B&B had bikes that are available to anyone staying there. We enjoyed riding bikes on the beach during low tide times of the day. Very comfortable. Breakfast and coffee were good. This B&B isn't for someone who is looking for a place that the Kennedy's would stay in, it is not snooty or pretentious by any means. This is a place for fun people who want to relax in a comfortable spot to enjoy the beach and have a few drinks in one of the local establishments. A++++++++++

The Beachside B&B is a unique treasure that offers an incredible experience at a great price. I stayed here with 2 friends, we are all in our mid 20s, and were incredibly impressed with the unique rooms, wonderful hospitality and service, and the convenient location. We had all been to Folly Beach before so we decided to drive further down the beach to get away from the crowds by the pier but you could easily walk to the beach as well. The house is located just a short a walk to all of the wonderful restaurants and shops. The owner was incredibly welcoming and the food was fantastic. We felt right at home and can't wait to go back!

Ginger! Ginger! Ginger! Your hospitality and knowledge of the hidden attractions around the area added the spice that set our vacation apart from all others. You all have a great thing going on down there at Folly Beach. Keep up the good work!!!

My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary. They treated us so well even giving us one night in their bungalow instead of the less expensive room we reserved. Ginger was amazing, full of information and a wonderful hostess. Mike was great showing us a great time during the happy hour. The B&B was a very short walk to the beach, and they had bikes you could borrow and Ginger would even take you in the beach by golf cart if you needed. Perfect atmosphere, cozy and comfy! We will DEFINITELY be back.

We stayed in the "70s Room", complete with round (and large) bed, 8 track machine and flowered wall paint. The room was small, but comfortable. There's a large "common area" including a full kitchen and small living room, as well as various beach toys and a number of bicycles. The breakfast was great, with not only "continental" fare, but eggs, sausage, and even shrimp and grits!. There were "happy hours" Friday and Saturday nights, with complimentary drinks and chips. The owner was personable, and his one-woman staff tireless. A whole lot of fun and lots of character. We'll never "slum it" at the Holiday Inn again. Don't miss this gem.

I'm a local but my Daughter was visiting from half way across the country so I thought, let's do this right and both of us have a vacation! Setting the reservation was easy and when we arrived, everything was so beachy and comfortable. I can't say enough about the atmosphere besides, Perfect!! Thanks Mike and Christy for a wonderful home away from home stay...

If you are looking for the real Folly Beach experience & you want to "live like a local", this is the place! It's located behind a busy restaurant, but don't let that distract you from the charm of this place. It's not the Ritz, but it has that sweet beachy laid-back feel equipped with beach cruisers and beach gear for your enjoyment! It was also very quiet and the hostess was great. The rooms are rather small (except the bungalow) but adequate. Overall, it's a great value!

My husband and I stayed for a weekend for a little weekend getaway and it turned out to be the best vacation ever! The hospitality of the owners (Michael and Christy) and the manager (Ginger) were overwhelming. They were so sincere in caring for all of the guests and making their trip memorable and relaxing. The location is great! It's only about a 3-5 minute walk to the beach and a 2 minute walk to downtown to the restaurants. Our favorite parts of staying here were the free bikes, happy hour, and delicious breakfast! We definitely recommend this place for a relaxing and fun vacation!

My wife and I had the pleasure of celebrating her 50th birthday with Michael, Christy, their family and Ginger. The atmosphere is fantastic, the people extremely friendly and social, the rooms stacked with personality, the service and attitude excellent! One of the most relaxing vacations I have ever taken, including parking the car from start to finish, never moving it until time to leave. The B&B, the town, the ocean and especially all of the people associated with the B&B, make this an excellent vacation destination. My wife's birthday would not have been as happy & eventful if she had chosen another destination or B&B. My only regret is that too many people may see the value in this excellent place and we may lose our ability to escape here at free will. In this case, the people and atmosphere make the place and I eagerly look forward to returning. Thank you Michael, Christy & Ginger for making my wife's birthday enjoyable and a lifetime memory!

We loved our romantic getaway to Beachside! We stayed in the Tree House room which was great for our anniversary trip! I have never slept so well away from home and felt refreshed when we left. We felt like family to Mike, Christy, and Ginger. And they all gave great recommendations on where to eat! We wont stay anywhere else when we visit Folley Beach and will recommend to all of our friends!

My wife and I celebrated our five year anniversary at Beachside and absolutely loved it! Ginger, the innkeeper was awesome. She made us feel very welcome and answered any questions we had about the area, getting us information whenever we needed it. Her cooking is superb. The beach cruisers were a highlight of our trip. You can take those to the beach, literally seconds away from your room, and ride right on the sand. It was amazing. The rooms are very clean, sheets super soft and smelled great. The towels are very thick and plush. Our bed slept great. We had a fridge full of juice and water at our disposal. Early morning coffee before breakfast was a nice touch. We stayed in the bungalow and fell in LOVE... It's such a charming little house to itself. We had our own front porch to sit and read at night, then have breakfast on the next morning. Michael and Christy, the owners, were great as well. They were super friendly, always stopping by to say hello and offering "local" info. The town is just a slow pace and relaxed. We never felt we had to rush to do anything. If you're looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of life, slow down and relax, THIS is your place.

Staying at the Beachside Bed and Breakfast in Folly Beach was like a segue from the hustle and bustle of work to a quiet slice of peace and harmony just a minute's walk from the beach. The bed was draped with a lace canopy and so comfortable. The stone shower included plants and marble walls just off the kitchen with a wide selection of breakfast foods, gourmet coffee and fresh fruit. Next time I will get there early enough for the Tiki bar. The owners and the hostess Ginger were very laid back and courteous. I felt right at home and wished I could stay longer.

I found the accommodations during my stay from April 28-30, 2009 to be very comfortable. The interior decor was very "homey" and the patio, hammock, and firepit were just what the doctor ordered. Less than a block from restaurants and convenience store and only a 15-20 min drive into historic downtown Charleston itself. Ya' can't beat it!

My boyfriend and I stayed here back in March 2009. There wasn't much going on at Folly Beach during that time of year so we had the B & B to ourselves.:) We were welcomed into the 70s room with a platter of cheese and fruit, an open bottle of delicious wine, and 70s rock and roll playing on the radio. It was a wonderful welcome to the 70s room, where we stayed 2 nights and did not want to leave! The atmoshpere was so chill, and we really felt like we escaped into the 70s all weekend. (the round bed is so comfortable!!) Although we did not meet Mike and Christy, we felt their positive vibes throughout our stay. They were excellent hosts, with coffee and breakfast each morning. We highly reccomend the Beachside to you and are going back this weekend ourselves.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for three nights in late May 2009, after visiting Charleston. We had heard about Folly Beach from a friend, who correctly described it as a beach town with personality. The B&B was wonderful. Michael and Christy bought these two small cottages and renovated them with very careful taste. Each room is a different theme, and it's evident that lots of thought was put into choosing the decor. We stayed one night in the 70s room, and two nights in the Treehouse Room. Both were fun in different ways-- the 70s room had a round bed (surprisingly spacious!) and a functional 8-track! That room has a bathroom en suite. The Treehouse Room has a lovely canopy bed. It also has a private bathroom (meant to feel like showering in the jungle-- very nice), though the bathroom is outside of the bedroom. I actually recommend the 70s room; it is slightly less expensive, and you don't have to leave the bedroom for the bathroom. A great perk: the B&B has bikes for you to use. We biked most of the length of the small island to a famous lighthouse. Michael is a generally congenial guy, and we and some of the other guests had drinks with him one night on the deck. Ginger, the third employee, is also great, and made sure that all of our needs were met-- and then some. For example, she packed up the extra fruit from breakfast so that we could take it to the beach. :) A small thing, but it was sweet. Another example of the owners' kindness: Michael drove us to the airport on our last day! The only downsides of the B&B were minor: (1) The breakfast was nothing to write home about. There was fresh fruit, which I thoroughly enjoyed, but the scrambled eggs and pastries were pretty bland. (2) In the morning, as people woke up and got breakfast, there was some low-level noise outside the bedrooms. Still, we got up at 9 a.m. or later all three mornings. In sum: fun, charming, cute place.

My short stay at the Beachside B&B was the highlight of a ten day road trip. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Breakfast was plentiful and the atmosphere very relaxed. With the ocean a short five minute walk away, and the Crab Shack restaurant on the corner, the evenings after site-seeing in Charleston were spent winding down in a leisurely fashion. Did I mention it is only 15-20 minutes to historic Charleston? All in all I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a down to earth, easy going place to hang ten.

My husband and I stayed here for two nights and did not want to leave. Owners Mike and Christy have created a home away from home at the Beachside Bed and Breakfast. We stayed in the Tree House guest room and loved it. The inn was clean and decorated beautifully. Wine and cheese are served on the porch in the evening, breakfast in the morning; such a great vibe. It is walking distance to everything or you can grab a bike and explore the island! This is really a great value for all you get! We highly recommend Beachside B&B and will definitely go back again and again.

Beachside Bed and Breakfast in the Charleston area is the most clever, delightful, friendly and peaceful place I've ever stayed. The towells smelled so good I buried my face in them. Soft...not used a thousand times. Much like the sheets. (the seceret is downy - the purple bottle) The television had more channels on it than I've ever seen. And no dirt-rental channels either, so I knew my sheets were clean! The bed was so magnificentally comfortable that if it had been smaller, I would have stolen it. The Price - $99. Where can you find that in this day and age and still bury your face in the towels? The Golf Cart was so charged up and ready for guest use, we almost used it (had it not been for the motorcycle with a sidecar to taxi us around the beach) The Costa Rican style was so mellow and tastefully crafted, I've taken some of the same designs and used them in my own home. The Privacy - you can stay in a divided up house downtown with a bunch of strangers, creaky floors and a creaky owner or you can have your own bungalo, your own large porch, some wine in the eavning, and of course...breakfast...wonderful breakfast. The Owners - Michael and Christy are friends you don't realize you have yet... but I guarantee you will walk away calling them friends. You could walk away as I did, with a new dentist (Dr. Christy Richardson owns the dental practice next door - Folly's own - Smile) or a new contractor (Michael Riffert) Its a beautiful family, a beautiful vibe, and as far as Charleston hotels go, I'll never stay anywhere else.
