Overall this was a very nice place. The room was lovely and it was great to have a porch to sit on. The negative is that the rooms are not soundproofed. You hear everything from the hallways and other rooms. We stayed there for business, and made a call at 9:30 am , we walked out of our room to a person in the room next door screaming and cursing at us that we woke her up and how rude we were and that we should go outside to make calls. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone that needs to conduct business from their room or has children that could make noises.

We have stayed at the Inn at Ion twice over the past two years, and both visits were wonderful. The rooms are lovely and very clean, and the views from the rocking chairs on our porch were beautiful. The Inn is less than 0.25 miles away from an amazing coffee shop in Mt Pleasant - Collective Coffee. After walking through the lovely Ion Community in the mornings, which includes stunning nature trails along the marshland, we walked over to get a fantastic coffee and breakfast/brunch at Collective Coffee. Since Ion is close to the bridge over to Charleston, we had easy access to both downtown Charleston in addition to Mt. Pleasant and Sullivan's Island. We look forward to our next stay!

I had wanted to stay at this inn for a long time. Usually when we go to Charleston its for business and we stay in the historic district. However, certain times of year it is more expensive than other times. Getting a room for over $300 a night makes no sense unless its a special occasion. This last trip was during a peak season, the Ion Inn had rooms available, so we gave it a try. I can honestly say that this is where I will be staying from now on when visiting Charleston. Mt. Pleasant is a really nice area with plenty of good restaurants, and about 10 minutes over the bridge your in Charleston. The Inn at Ion is part of a beautiful quaint village. That we enjoyed walking around in. The Inn itself is equally as beautiful and quaint. We had a private parking space. The room was large and well decorated. After an exhausting day we especially liked the porch attached to our room with rocking chairs for relaxing. Service and staff were exceptional. There is a new Italian restaurant on site that we visited for a complimentary glass of wine and appetizer that the Inn offered since they no longer offer a complimentary breakfast with the room. We had a large lunch before checking in so we didn't do dinner. However, I definitely plan to on our next visit. Their menu sounded wonderful. This is a hidden gem just over the bridge from Charleston in the quiet Ion village of Mt. Pleasant. Worth checking out!

Very disappointed that breakfast was not on site especially with no appropriate restaurants nearby.......while a delightful place to stay, even having fruit, hot water /coffee and protein bars would have improved my stay.

We enjoyed our stay. Very nice room with a great balcony over the street. Our visit got cut short by the hurricane, but the hotel refunded the extra day. Vouchers for appetizers / drinks at two local joints is a very nice touch, much appreciated. Thanks, we will be back!

Originally I booked it as a B&B but they have discontinued breakfast. I would not call this a B&B. It is a hotel run inn with sporadic interaction. The room was roomy, well maintained and clean. It was quiet and a good location to Charleston if you'd prefer to stay out of town. People were friendly and the appetizer/drink coupons were a nice touch. Overall I would stay here again even though I prefer a true B&B. Also, having an assigned parking spot was great.

Enjoyed our recent stay at the Inn at Ion. Have stayed there a few times now. Clean rooms. Great on-site parking. We really miss the breakfast in the mornings. Overall, a good stay.

The food at the restaurant was not "Charleston" quality. The Inn use to have a fantastic breakfast, but now has nothing in the morning. Don't know how you can call it a bed and breakfast without breakfast. Otherwise it is the "best" place to stay in Charleston for quite, restful stay within a beautiful community.

My husband and I along with another couple recently stayed at the Inn and this would be our home base for our three day tour of Charlestown. Great choice : ). The town or Mt. Pleasant is just off Rt. 17 and a fifteen minute drive to Charlestown. There are two nice restaurants, swimming pools, tennis courts and a fitness center at the Inn that we also enjoyed during our stay. Bottom line, we will return to this great little Inn on our next visit to Charlestown.
