We recently stayed at PP for several nights and were delighted to have done so. Lori is an exemplary host - she describes herself as an "enthusiast," a handle that's easily empirically verifiable. As you'd expect of a professional innkeeper, she's a mine of information on the property, the neighborhood, the town - the very nice little town of Greenville, with its splendid river park and county art museum - local doings, restaurants, etc. Most accommodating arrangements: when would you like breakfast? When the wine and cheese? Water in the fridge. Ice upstairs, along with commercial Keurig brewer, 24/7 (with freshly baked cookies), little nibbles in the rooms. And on and on. The rooms are uniformly spectacular, beautifully appointed, with comfortable mattresses and pillows, many with places to sit and/or set up your laptop (yes, Wifi). Impeccably clean bathrooms, overhead showers, bathrobes, thick, thick towels, lovely soaps, etc., simply perfect. And then the breakfasts: "gourmet" is tossed around fairly cheaply in the B&B world. PP takes the phrase seriously and then simply goes over the top; yes, the breakfasts are sufficiently ample to satisfy a Fred Flintstone. But souffles? Tomato pies? Artisanal breakfast meats? Fresh fruit and freshly squeezed juices daily. The only breakfast downside - and this is easily addressable - was PP's coffee, which was weak to the point of insipidity: we found ourselves sneaking upstairs for Keurig shots to add to the morning brew. And there was a single curious note: we arrived early and were greeted by a friendly, chatty staffer who announced "you're rooms are ready, but I'm not ready for you." We kind of understood, but at the same time would like to have unloaded the car and maybe decompressed in the parlor after a long drive. Our interlocutor seemed to have the "service" equation backwards.) But we have no reservation about PP or recommending it wholeheartedly to any and all, and we hope to return. PP is tops.
It's always nice to be compared to Mary Poppins! Although, our singing would probably be detrimental to the comfort of our guests. Thank you for the kind words, we love that you were pleased with our bed and breakfast as well as our lovely city. The staff is instructed to not allow check ins if the whole house isn't ready, but we certainly don't ever want our guests to feel put out. I am sorry. When you come again tell me about your dark coffee preference and I will make sure we take care of it. Thank you for staying with us, we look forward to your next visit.

Such a lovely and inviting place. Greeted with wine and cheese! The most amazing banana pudding waffles for breakfast. Rivaled any fancy restaurant around. Well worth the price.
We are so glad you enjoyed your stay with us, but it almost feels like cheating. Who could say anything bad after having our banana pudding French toast with caramel sauce and thick cut bacon? If you would like a copy of the recipe, just send us an email. We look forward to impressing you with something equally delicious on our next visit .

For the most amazing stay in Greenville's Historic District, you must stay here. You are made so welcome it feels like you are visiting family. Lori & Jeanette run a first class B & B. The cookies are totally addicting!! (They leave a cookie jar outside your door. Mistake for dieters!!) The meals are 5 star quality. You really don't need lunch if you eat a late breakfast. A small snack and a few cookies did us until dinner. Dinner....yeah, there's an amazing array of fine restaurants in Greenville, and Pettigru Place is literally 5 blocks from Downtown. We walked everywhere. Anyway, if you want a really fun, relaxing, delicious, and comfortable stay in a great city with tons to offer, YOU MUST STAY HERE!!!

We have been traveling to Greenville for 4 years to visit our children at college. We have stayed at the best hotels and decided to try this for a change. We will never go anywhere else! The service is amazing the the food is outstanding. My husband is a gourmet cook and was truly impressed at the breakfast!

My husband and I enjoy staying at B&Bs and will often get away just for the weekend so, over the years, we've see the good, bad, and the ugly. Lori's Pettigru Place is so far above good, I am straining for the words to give the potential guest an accurate picture. Her hospitality, the little touches in the rooms, extra special (wine and cheese in the late afternoon) services, amenities--and the fantastic gourmet breakfast. I would have to rank this B&B above any others we have enjoyed--and certainly for the price! We will DEFINITELY return.

This is a lovely appointed B&B. The staff is very friendly and hospitable. Their goal is to pamper you. I have never been so well rested in my life. The stay was relaxing and enjoyable. Breakfast was excellent. I will go stay as often as possible.
