My husband and I stayed at the inn recently in our trip to see a show at the Theater by the sea. The place is Wonderfull the rooms are immaculate and confortable. Walking distance to the beach, convenience store, ice cream shop, bar and restaurante and a five minute drive to the Theater. Loved the front porch rocking chairs and the brieze from the ocean. Levon, the owner, is a incredible host very friendly he made us feel at home. He also cooks an outstanding homemade and delicious breakfast hot from the oven. Highly Recommended. Will be back...

this is a beautiful inn located close to just about everything. we came to visit our son and the Admiral was right around the corner. it was a great find. we found it to be charming, quiet and very comfortable. the rooms are very clean and nicely decorated. the common areas and grounds are well kept too. my wife and i enjoyed talking with the inn keeper Joan and are already looking forward to a return visit. thanks for a great trip.....will and laurie

Admirable time

Close to the beach, chairs/towels provided. Fun innkeeper -- goofy "Pinky" character to cart around & take pics of. Lots to do not far from Newport, Block Island, Watch Hill.

Wonderful Inn/Great Location

We highly recommend the Admiral Dewey Inn. My husband and I have enjoyed several stays. Many wonderful qualities: nicely decorated with many antiques, relaxed atmosphere and Joan the innkeeper is lively and fun to be around. There is much laughter at the breakfast table. Joan is very knowledgeable and helpful about the region.

Home Away from Home...and then some!

We have been coming to the Dewey for over 15 years, couldn't wait to come back in 2010....and wouldn't go anywhere else! We already have planned for 4 additional visits this summer. Joan is congenial, intelligent, witty and is "worth the price of admission" with her cosmopolitan attitude, and ongoing banter adding to the overal experience.

A Great Getaway!

Staying at the Admiral Dewey was perfect. Beautiful room - delicious baked goods. View of the ocean and a very entertaining hostess.

Did We Show Up Uninvited to This Mean, Cranky Woman's Home?

If I could have, I would have stayed at another hotel or bed and breakfast. Unless you want to get yelled at every time you pass Joan, the inn keeper, or just for someone to be plain mean to you (Guest: wow, the salads are great next door at the deli - Joan: what, like I don't know that), I would suggest going to a different place. She yelled at me for asking for an iron, yelled at the bride’s brother for ironing his shirt, and yelled at the bride for having too many people in her room helping her get ready for the wedding. We felt like she was annoyed that anyone was staying in her house, not that we had paid for a nice bed and breakfast (bed not so comfortable and breakfast consisted of bagels and English muffins left out).

The Dewey Experience

The "Dewey Experience" can't be beat -- Joan, the proprietor, is a great raconteur. The inn is beautifully decorated with antiques but is cozy and comfortable, and the food is fantastic! None better anywhere!

The admiral Dewey is a gem near the ocean in R.I. This beautiful victorian inn is owned by captain Joan, who runs a tight ship. From the beautiful antiques to the beautiful breakfast, it is a delight.

RI coastal escape

An enjoyable, though brief stay in an area of RI that we didn't know. Innkeeper Joan was a B&B veteran, with many interesting stories and a wealth of local knowledge. Great baking!

We came here in 1999 for "one night" on our honeymoon and stayed the week. Never missed a summer since - plus a few spring and falls! A quiet gem and Joan's the best!!

This inn is filled with beautiful antiques, some which take you back to your childhood. The staff and owner, Joan Label, were gracious and truly concerned that your visit be one to remember. Definitely a return required.

auntie Joan, the proprietor, is a generous, kind, grandmotherly, soul, who goes out of her way to make her "children" feel at home.
