About

Welcome to Domaine du Moulin, a romantic Bed & Breakfast in the Provence. This hidden gem is located between the lavender fields and vineyards of the Provence, in a small village called St Laurent-des-Arbres a medieval village that once belonged to the Popes of Avignon. It is perfect for exploring the Provence as it is situated in the middle of the famous vineyards of Tavel, Lirac, Côte du Rhone and Chateau-Neuf du Pape. You can also stay at the domain and enjoy the peace and quiet, walk the beautiful grounds or enjoy the sunshine on the sundeck by the swimming pool. The city of Avignon is located only 15 minutes by car. Here you can visit the famous Palais des Papes with it’s rich culture and history, dance sur le Pont d’Avignon, or just stroll around the beautiful city with it’s many shops and delicious restaurants. The domain has been updated to offer modern comfort in typical Provence style. The main house offers 5 rooms, all beautifully renovated, and come with private bathrooms, airconditioning, small personal refrigerator, etc. The main house offers a large terrace overlooking the river Nizon. The surrounding Parc covers well over 4 hectares (10 acres), and offers many fruit trees, weaping willows, olive trees, a beautiful alley of century-old plantanes, a vegetable garden as well as many flowers, including a small lavender field. Furthermore, you will find a pool of 17x6 metres, several private terraces, and a pond with terrace for picknick or BBQ.

Amazing Stay!

5 on February 19, 2017

We came across Domaine du Moulin by chance online and thought we'd try it. It's our first time in Provence and we really didn't know much about the region. Arriving here after a long drive from Sweden we were welcomed as if we were coming home, and the hospitality of Antoinette and her husband really made our stay here so lovely. The house and the grounds are incredibly well kept, clean, charming and very Provençal! Everything has been made in consideration of those seeking a getaway from the hustle and bustle of summer-peak tourist season in the region - quiet spots on the property to sit and have a candle-lit dinner, Bbq facilities for those not wanting to venture out (understandable if you've been in the car all day!) and playground and lots of space for kids to run around. Location of the property was also great; we used it as a launchpad into the other parts of Provençal as day trips and loved coming back to Domaine du Moulin each afternoon for a swim and quiet dinner here. The town nearby (Saint-Laurent des Arbres) is also a pleasant 10min walk away, offering cobblestone roads and historic buildings, and a great boulangerie and a few restaurants. All in all, a brilliant find, highly recommended and will definitely come back next time we're in Provence!

Best Stay in the Provence!

Did not want to leave Domain du Moulin. It is wonderful, Antoinette is a delightful host. The Alexandre room has the most amazing view. Breakfast, wow, this sets you up for the day. Nothing is too much trouble for Antoinette and her staff. The domain has beautiful grounds to wander. A glorious swimming pool and a lake with the most enormous fish! Make the effort and stay here at Domain du Moulin instead of some run of the mill hotel in Avignon. It is only a 15 minute drive to the centre of Avignon. You will not regret it!

Perfect Romantic Getaway in the Provence

We stayed here for almost a week and did not want to leave! Lovely hosts who make you feel right at home and make sure you have a wonderful stay. Beautiful romantic and clean rooms with good beds ( Tip: if it is not already booked choose the Juliette). Beautiful grounds to walk and a perfect pool for the warmer days. Avignon is only a 15 min. drive by car and the Domaine is surrounded by wonderful little (and bigger) vineyards to visit. Can't find a more perfect romantic getaway in the Provence!!

Visit to Domaine du Moulin

We were pleasantly surprised with Domaine du Moulin. It is more than you see on the internet. It is picture perfect. We came for the day and the owner was happy to show us the property, not only that she offered coffee and cookies which was very nice of her. We came from Melbourne and would come back for a holiday.I highly recommend this property. Thanks Antoinette for allowing us to visit your property. The three of us came in July.We will came back again. Regards, Jas

A perfect place to stay.

We could not have picked a nicer place. Nothing was too much trouble for our hostess Antoinette and her husband Otto. The staff were polite and friendly. The house is beautiful and the rooms comfortable we stayed in both Juliette and Alexandre rooms. It is a great venue for both single couples and also families too. The breakfast was plentiful and tasty and thanks to Antoinette's advice we visited a different place each day and were never disappointed. It was just what we needed. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and would love to go back again someday soon. Thanks again. Regards Des and Dawn

Een prachtige week bij Antoinette en Otto. Wat een geweldige mensen en wat een mooie omgeving rondom hun domaine. We hebben genoten, vooral van het ontbijt. Het geheel is een plaatje. De gastvrijheid is van een hoog niveau.

Welcome to paradise !

An incredible place, beyond our expectations. The large-size "Juliette" room (named after the owner's daughter) was very quiet and charmingly decorated, with a spacious en-suite bathroom and lovely "terrasse". The whole property is very peaceful and beautiful, with its canal that turns into a small stream, its grounds and flowers. You will always find a lovely, quiet place to read or just doze off in the shade - as we did all weekend ! We didn't even feel the need to go visit any other place - just stayed there. The owner Antoinette and her husband Otto pay great attention to details and do their utmost to please you. Breakfast is good value for money (15 euros per person - although this additional cost does not show on booking.com for instance, so be prepared) and it is a special delight when taken outdoors. We'll be back !

You won't want to leave the luxury, the food, the relaxation!

Everything exceeded our expectations. If you are looking for history, linens, furnishings and antiques, a library, cupid rod iron statues, a river running under your french windows, an owner who prefers nature over luxury but has it all, a lavender garden, the tour of a 15th century mill in the basement...breakfast on the patio overlooking both the river and the pool. Oh, the pool. A sleepy french medieval town with one restaurant that you can walk to..seems deserted at night..the most spectacular drive in a convertible to Uzes to catch the farmers market, stopping for the tasty pizza at the Pizza cart on the way back..Drive down to the "big city" of Avignon for some real excitement...and, best of all, if you get lost....no one speaks English!! This is the best chateau in the world. We would move there if we could..!

Fabulous!
