Stayed here twice on a last-minute whim and will be back. Priced just right and charmingly historic. This is not a snobby place with a ton of bells and whistles which suits us nicely. Very old home so no central a/c or heat. Would like to see some small details such as lotions, soaps and toiletries rather than what seems like leftovers. But truly a small issue for a great location, great hospitality and excellent breakfast.
Thank you for staying again at Faunbrook B&B! Just to clarify on a couple of your comments, there is central a/c in the guest rooms and central heat throughout the inn. The a/c is housed in a unit on the roof which is then pumped through feeds in the ceiling. This may be why you did not notice it. The heat and a/c are managed by innkeeper from two separate units in the inn. As for toiletries, in order to maintain our eco-friendly environment, we keep one large bath wash, shampoo and conditioner in each shower to avoid waste from many unused or partially used mini plastic containers. These are Arbonne products which are botanical products. Each room also has hand wash by the sink and a bar soap. We are happy to accommodate if you prefer brand new products in the rooms, and/or need to adjust room temperatures. We're glad you enjoyed your stay and hope to see you again!

I have stayed here twice before for work and each time is better than the last. The ambiance is perfect: quiet and peaceful but not too stuffy. The hosts are gracious and easy-going and everyone who works here is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is always a highlight, as well as the complimentary wine! I can't say enough about this perfect gem in West Chester, PA. I hope to stay there again. Thanks for Lori, Steve, and the whole crew.

We loved our 2-day stay at Faunbrook for our wedding anniversary. The room was the bridal suite...deep soaking tub and separate shower! The meals were delicious...all farm-to-table ingredients. It was nicely located not far from Longwood Gardens where we listened to a concert and saw the dancing giant fountains.

We had an absolutely wonderful time on our anniversary getaway! Our check-in was flawless, our room was beautiful (we stayed in the Elizabeth), brunch was delicious and we enjoyed the dinner recommendations and the history/photo albums in the living room. We loved everything to do in the surrounding area and would love to come back here for another weekend getaway. If I could live in the Faunbrook Bed and Breakfast I would!

Upon arrival I was welcomed into the B&B and given a tour of the common areas. After my return from dinner with colleagues I enjoyed a glass of wine in front of the fire, while reading about the house's intriguing history. My room was cozy and warm on a chilly morning in March and I was treated to a delicious homemade breakfast frittata, fresh coffee, fruit salad, and banana-chocolate chip bread (wow!) - the fragrance of which wafted up the stairs as I awoke that morning. What a great stay, and for a sweet price! I travel for work quite frequently and this was by far one of the best accommodations I have experienced in awhile. Thank you to Lori and Steve and the rest of the staff (Glen and Tyler). I hope to return again soon.
Thanks so much for staying with us! We look forward to hosting you again soon.

We stayed here for our anniversary as a mini-getaway. It was January and quite cold outside- but very comfortable inside! We had a fireplace in our room which was wonderful and kept our room quite warm. The bed was very comfortable. The staff was amazingly friendly. And the breakfast was absolutely delicious! We'll be back for sure!

We always choose a B&B whenever possible and Faunbrook truly did not disappoint. A couple of tiny things- I found the room uncomfortably cold and while we had a fireplace it was definitely only for ambiance. No privacy shades on the stunning bedroom windows allowed us to watch the sunrise but let in cold and, well, didn't provide privacy. Not deal breakers either one. Great location, beautiful antiques and decor, lovely host. Can accommodate a one-night weekend stay which is a must.

My wife and I returned to the Faunbrook B&B for the second time. It was as wonderful as the first time. Decorated for Christmas and complete with complimentary Christmas cookies and wine, we woke up to Eggnog French Toast and a full meal. It was a wonderful time, and I recommend Faunbrook to anyone!

The house was decorated beautifully for Christmas. When we arrived we received a tour of the house and got a seat by the fireplace with some complimentary wine. All the rooms and bathrooms were very clean. Breakfast the next morning was amazing and adjustments were made for guests with dietary restrictions...would love to come back next Christmas!

I had my bridal party book rooms at Faunbrook B&B and am SO happy I did. From the time I booked until we left the Inn, Lori was so helpful and attentive. I wanted to use the common areas of the Inn to have my bridesmaids and I get ready in and Lori made sure everything I needed was handled. She worked around our schedule for changing the rooms over, and the breakfast she served was PHENOMENAL and there was sooo much of it- everyone talked about how delicious it was for days. I can't thank Lori and the staff at Faunbrook enough for all of their help, they truly made the weekend so enjoyable!

Stayed for a wedding and we had almost the entire B&B booked. I was lucky and got to see many of the rooms, all of which are gorgeous! The owner was wonderful and made delicious breakfasts for us both mornings we were there. The greatest of which was the pumpkin pancakes! I live nearby but I would definitely stay again just for a weekend getaway sometime! Highly recommended!

Seven years ago we chose Faunbrook as the site of our wedding and dinner reception. We visited a dozen possible venues in PA and DE, and when we had seen them all we looked at each other and said, "There are many good choices, but only one perfect choice." And that was Faunbrook. We returned this year to celebrate our 7th anniversary and in every corner of this evocative 19th century property wonderful memories of romance and family flooded over us. Whether you are seeking a weekend getaway or a wedding site that everyone in your party will love, our experience is that Lori and her assistant innkeepers will make certain everything is perfect.

Faunbrook is not the least expensive place to stay in the area but it is the best value. This historic building is a treat inside and out, close to town, also 20 minutes to Longwood Gardens outside Kennett Square. Breakfasts are chummy, other guests we've encountered have all been hip to Faunbrook as THE place to stay in West Chester. Amiable, comfortable, well-appointed.

Our weekend away at Faunbrook Bed and Breakfast was wonderful and incredibly relaxing. The rooms are beautiful and very clean. The history of the house is preserved, but you have all the modern accommodations. The common areas each have a fireplace, and Lori and Steve provided us with wine, so that we could relax and enjoy sitting by the fire. Lori made an amazing brunch on Sunday morning. We would definitely go back! Thanks for a great weekend!

We spent 2 days at Faunbrook. It was a great location for touring the DuPont properties, Winterthur and The Hagley Museum. The house is lovely, beautifully furnished with antiques. Breakfasts were awesome and we pretty much had the run of the place as it was early in the week and no other guests were present. The room we had chosen was a little small. We could have used a 2nd comfortable chair. Wi-Fi was provided, however finding outlets for electronic devices in need of recharging was a challenge. I suppose this made me aware of the dusty corners and baseboards in the room. Overall a nice stay, only next time , one of the larger rooms would be preferable. Host and helpers were very gracious and friendly.

Faunbrook is a picture perfect Victorian home nestled just down the road from the bustle of downtown West Chester. The place is beautifully preserved and offers a place of true relaxation and respite. Lori is the innkeeper and she serves up absolutely delicious breakfast spreads that have been carefully crafted and thought out. From breakfast I could retire back to Edith's Room, which feels like home except that it has an exquisite bathroom behind French doors that I could only dream of having in my own house. The luxurious tub is fit for a queen and boy did I feel like one here. I also had a brunch here the morning after my wedding and it was just wonderful. I couldn't have imagined a better place to have it and my guests agreed. Simply perfect. I would heartily recommend Faunbrook to anyone looking for a quiet, beautiful refuge from the hectic day to day we all know so well. It really is worth every penny.

We stayed when a film we were working on rented the entire establishment for a night shoot. The location is AMAZING, the inn is full of historic charm, modern amenities and the nicest owner ever. My husband and I are already coming up with reasons to return. The food was delicious, we had both dinner and breakfast, and it was tastiest hotel I've eaten at in years. I can't wait to go back. We stayed in the Isabel room and it's my first choice for our next trip. I loved the canopy bed, the claw foot bath tub and the corner view. Can't wait to come again!

My daughter attends school in West Chester, so when I visit her for Parents' Day or other occasions, I stay at Faunbrook B&B. Last week was my 4th or 5th stay, and it included all the features that keep me coming back: a gorgeous home, a gorgeous room with all the appointments I need, and a really delicious vegetarian breakfast. The process of booking a room online, and paying, are straightforward and streamlined. What a haven, after a day of traveling, to stay here.

My wife and I stayed at the Faunbrook B & B this past weekend and had a wonderful experience. The home was beautiful and the rooms were decorated to match the home. Our room had a claw foot tub. This is a major draw for my wife. We will be sure to stay there again when we go back to that area of PA. We have also decided to ensure that we stay in B & B's whenever we travel. I was in West Chester for a short conference, and was not interested in staying at the two hotels in town recommended by the conference, so I stayed at Faunbrook instead - what a great decision that was! My room (Isabel) was beautiful, and made me feel like a queen. It had a big, comfy canopy bed, lots of space and pretty details, and a wonderful, claw foot tub in the bathroom. There is a soap/bath products store in town - Silvanus - where I purchased some wonderful lavender bubble bath to use for my evening bubble bath. The breakfast was wonderful, too. The first morning, we had fabulous raspberry pancakes and a veggie frittata (I don't eat meat). The second morning, I they made me another kind of veggie frittata along with delicious scones. The coffee was great, too! The owner is very friendly, and the downstairs area inviting with lots of books, including a photo album with photos and articles about the Darlington family and past owners of Faunbrook - not to be missed! Faunbrook is also an easy walk into West Chester, so I walked back and forth to the conference one day as well. All, in all, a perfect stay at the Faunbook and visit to West Chester.

My husband and I stayed here in early October, visiting our daughter at her boarding school nearby. The B&B itself is gorgeous: the big yard, giving a feeling of being out in the country, the lovingly restored and maintained historic house, and the beautiful, luxuriously-appointed guest rooms. But the icing on the cake (literally) was the extra effort our hosts went to for us. It was our daughter's birthday, and they let us stage a little celebration for her in the dining room that night; we brought the cake and candles, and they supplied plates, napkins, forks, cake server, etc, and cleaned up afterwards. It was her first birthday away from home, and it really helped to be able to celebrate it in a beautiful, home-like setting. Then they got up quite early the next morning, to serve us breakfast before we had to leave for the Parents' Day activities. Thank you so much!

My husband and I were married at the Faunbrook in October, 2008 and it was just the most perfect, personal, warm atmosphere to celebrate with our friends and family. We originally had booked with the previous innkeeper whom was just a wonderful woman and a big part of our reason for booking, shortly after the inn changed management and we were very pleasantly reassured by the current innkeepers Lori and Steve who helped make our day special and unique. We then again stayed on our wedding anniversary in 2011 which was a surprise by my husband, whom did not remember the name of the room we had stayed in. There must have been some confusion because all rooms were previously booked under our names so Lori did the best she could from memory. When we arrived my husband was devastated that it was not the same room and although I was still so happy just to be back there, he wanted to make this special as we were expecting our first baby at the time. He mentioned it to Lori to see if we could switch the rooms, and unfortunately it had been booked for sometime. This did not at all ruin the wonderful memories we were able to share and Lori was such a wonderful hostess she comped the room entirely for the misunderstanding! The rooms and detail of this location are absolutely beautiful, it is extremely clean and breakfast is always wonderful. We had an amazing breakfast the day after our wedding with our entire family and it was just as memorable during our revisit. Thanks again Lori and Steve for being such gracious hosts! Stayed October 2011

Not wanting to spend Christmas in a hotel room, my husband, daughter and I decided to book rooms at Faunbrook. Best decision we ever made! Faunbrook was gloriously decorated inside and out and was a wonderful place to bring family & friends to spend time in the many living spaces on the first floor. Very warm and welcoming! The rooms were comfortable and spacious, all with full private bathrooms. Steve & Lori were wonderful hosts. We liked the fact that the breakfasts were made with farm-fresh eggs and meats. The cinnamon bread was to die for and we highly recommend Lori's pastries....AWESOME! Anytime we come back to the West Chester, PA area, we will be making reservations at Faunbrook. For the value and the comfort (and the best Bananas Foster French Toast that I have ever had), we highly recommend it.

We were married at Faunbrook B&B last Saturday, 8/13/11 amid our dearest friends and family. Lori and Steve were so easy to work with, and very flexible for meetings and walkthroughs with our photographer, caterer, and my future in-laws. We had guests staying there Wed~Sunday nights, and had rented the whole B&B for Friday and Saturday nights, for the ceremony and catered reception to be held there. I really don't know where to begin in complimenting/reviewing them, and if you would like to speak to us directly, ask Lori or Steve for our phone number. Whilst the B&B has lovely period furnishings, we did do some decorating and they were very easy to work with in our ideas. The photos from our stay and the ceremony/reception showcased the lovely environment very nicely. Lori is an amazing chef -- the lemon scones are really to die for! And both Lori and Steve are very friendly, hospitable, professional, and checked in just enough with us to know that they were there if we needed them, and they were not at all intrusive in any way, at any time. We live literally 5 blocks away from Faunbrook and we will be singing its high praises to all our friends and family. Two of our wedding party have already booked their own weekend getaway having enjoyed the experience so much! I am hoping to snag a couple of rooms last minute for a mini-Junior High reunion over Labor Day weekend since our wedding was so micro -- 14 people total including the officiant, photographer, and flutist -- I couldn't invite two of my best friends. Lori and Steve also worked well with our caterer (Olive Branch of West Chester), Bob Wood Photography, and Officiant, Taya Shepard of AlteredVows -- each and all of whom I also highly recommend. Thank you Lori and Steve for making our special day even more so! Everyone loved your space and you! Valerie & Kyle

What a wonderful and welcoming stay. Owner Lori was accomodaring beyond compare. From not sweating it when I arrived three hours before check in to finding me an old towel I could take with me to an outdoor event where rain was expected, she was incredibly service oriented. I would have to say that we had a terrific time at Faunbrook! It was a beautiful place and the love and care that Lori and Steve put into the place is quite evident. Neither are rich Barons or seated royalty. Their labor of love for the mansion is one that allows the world to glimpse a view of the past and enjoy such! This couple is wonderful with a smile of fun and caring. As a former White House Chef and Camp David Resort Manager, I enjoyed the baked quiche dish with Mornay sauce, for breakfast. Since we also own the #1 ranked B&B for history, we evaluated Faunbrook from a keen eye and found lots of love, tons of care and plenty of smiles! We also were extremely jealous over the beautiful pieces of furniture in the rooms, WOW! What special antiques they have. Martin CJ Mongiello The Inn of the Patriots B & B

I had the opportunity to stay at Faunbrook on an extended business trip recently and I could not have asked for a more comfortable stay or better hosts than Steve & Lori. They are both excellent authorities on local restaurants and attractions and newcomers to the area will not be disappointed with their recommendations. The inn itself is a delightful combination of historically authentic architecture that they have made warm & inviting. Those who feel that elegant bathrooms are an important part of a stay away from home will not be disappointed. Faunbrook has several rooms with baths that are sinfully sensuous. Although my stay this time was for business I would not hesitate to return for a weekend of fun. George Ryan Alpharetta, GA

My stay at Faunbrook was disappointing to say the least. First, the breakfast had skimpy proportions. We also did not like how their dog came up to the tables while we were eating. The rooms was somewhat clean, but we saw what appeared to be animal paw print stains on the carpet, something we did not see when another proprietor owned the B&B a few years ago. We also did not appreciate the fact that the proprietors did not make themselves available during an event we had there along with showing attitude to our guests when making requests. There was also a lack of communication of when we had to check out of our rooms making us feel rushed. The bottom line is, we are the customer and if you cannot provide a service then you have no business having a business.
5 on August 05, 2009
Faunbrook B&B is run by its newest owners, Lori and Steve, a younger couple who really have their heart in the business. When we arrived they offered us a variety of local wines which we enjoyed as we strolled the grounds stopping at several water features and admiring the historic 1850 mansion. Lori gave us a tour of the many rooms, each just as elegant as the website had shown. The breakfasts were excellent and filling. While there, QVC video-taped a future show displaying oriental carpets; QVC frequently tapes shows at Faunbrook where a Victorian setting is the preferred backdrop. The taping did not interfere with our stay but added some interesting variety. Both Lori and Steve made us feel at home and made suggestions regarding places to eat and local attractions.

My work takes me to many locales and for accomodations I usually seek out small inns. For years I have been privileged to stay in many fine establishments. I recently stayed at Faunbrook (1/27 & 1/28/09). This historic B&B offers character, comfort, charm, and luxurious rooms. Lori & Steve, Faunbrook's hosts, could not be more helpful or welcoming. This is one of those places where you can be more productive simply being there. I highly recommend it.

I attended my cousins wedding there last week and I was extremely impressed! My husband and I love B&B's and have stayed in many. This B&B is MAGNIFICANT in appearance. My cousin and his new wife took us on a tour of the bedrooms and everyone in it's own way was BEAUTIFUL. As for the wedding itself, the bride came down an elaborate staircase while her groom waited for her in a beautiful living room with a grand piano and a fireplace. It was so moving and elegant to say the least. Our brunch took place on the property's porch and the view was gorgeous!! I am hoping to get back there for a weekend getaway so I can enjoy comfort in one of those beautiful rooms. If you are looking to get away for a nice romantic weekend or if you are having a wedding/party, this B&B is the place for it.

I was so fortunate to have selected Faunbrook B&B for my overnight business stay in West Chester last week. The proprietors - Lori & Steve - were just as nice as they could be. The property is beautiful, well appointed, and so historic! Steve gave me a great tour of the place and the background on it's history, and then was kind enough to suggest a wonderful restaurant for dinner and then call and make a reservation for me! I will definitely be going back again to stay again when I have business in the area. In fact, I'm really looking forward to it! It's one of the nicest B&B's I've stayed in.

Wow, this place was amazing. Beautiful property, absolutely fantastic food, and wonder hostess (Pat). Everything was wonderful. Can't wait to come back!
