Memorable Mother/Daughter Weekend in June

4.8 on August 09, 2018

We have stayed at the Quill Haven once or twice each year (may have missed a year or two) since 2008. My daughters and I were pleased to meet new owners Katie and Craig Mathis. Katie did a very nice job with my new preferred plant based food plan, creating scrambles and steel cut oats that were tasty and attractive. It was our first time staying in the Bridal Suite room which was very fun.

Innkeeper Response
So happy you had a wonderful time with us! The Bridal Suite is definitely a nice room to have! It was my pleasure - I was able to create some new recipes for the B&B!

Comfortable B&B in Somerset, PA

5 on July 31, 2018

Our hostess greeted us upon arrival and offered us the Rose Room on the first floor, so that my 93 year old mom would not have to climb stairs. In the living room, wine was available for the guests as well as snacks and apple pie. Our bed was extremely comfortable and breakfast was yummy! I would definitely recommend this B&B!

Innkeeper Response
Thank you so much for the wonderful review! I remember you and your mom - it was such a pleasure to meet you both on your yearly getaway!

Needs Little Improvements

2.4 on July 30, 2018

FOR THE PRICE OF OUR STAY AND EXTRA CHARGED FOR A LATE CHECKOUT, I THOUGHT THE BREAKFAST WAS MISSING THE HOME COOKED PAMPERING. IT WAS BASIC AND NOTHING SPECIAL. THE OWNERS WERE ACCOMODATING WHEN YOU MADE A REQUEST BUT RELIED MORE ON YOUR ASKING INSTEAD OF OFFERING OR MAKING SUGGESTIONS TO GIVE THE GUEST OPTIONS. OLD CARPET NEEDS TO BE REMOVED IN ROOM TO GIVE IT A CLEANER FEEL. LIGHTING WAS NOT ADEQUATE. LITTLE DRESSER SPACE FOR CLOTHES. NO CLOSET. TV NEEDS TO BE ELEVATED FOR VIEWING FROM BED. WE WERE IN TOWN FOR AN ANNUAL EVENT AND IT MADE IT DIFFICULT. OWNERS WERE VERY PLEASANT THOUGH AND JUST NEED A LITTLE MORE EXPERIENCE MAYBE.

Innkeeper Response
We are so sorry to hear about the lasting impressions you have about our country B&B. We urge our guests to address any issues that they have during their stay while they are here - we would have been more than happy to raise the t.v. for you, add an extra lamp or offer a room change. We truly try to accommodate every person that stays at our B&B. Please feel free to contact us directly if you would like to discuss your concerns.

Katie was very accommodating and a real joy to talk with. We won’t stay anywhere else when in town. You can tell she has a love for this and that made our stay terrific! Great setting and beautiful home! Robin and James

Very nice bed and breakfast

5 on July 10, 2018

This is right there in Somerset off the main road off of the turnpike. Katie is extremely welcoming and accommodating!!! I was supposed to be by myself for a night but unfortunately both my kids ended up staying as well. The Rose room is very nice with a private bath. It is right off the front porch and entryway and can get a little noisy but we all slept well! Breakfast was very nice! Much better than area hotels in the area! Scrambled eggs, muffins, fruit and bacon! It was a great breakfast! Thanks Katie! Hope to see you again next year!!

Innkeeper Response
It was a pleasure having you and your kids stay with us - they were such wonderful and nice kids! Hope to see you next year! (Hopefully some mommy alone time!!!)

Great place to stay in Somerset, PA!

5 on October 28, 2017

We were at Quill Haven Country Inn on the last day of Carol and Rowland's tenure as owner/operators. We so enjoyed being there -- so quiet and peaceful -- a lovely breakfast. As the Inn continues under new ownership, we wish it the best and will surely stay there again, when the opportunity presents itself.

An absolute must!

Quill Haven Country Inn was such an amazing experience! From the moment that my husband and I walked in, we felt as comfortable as possible. I’ve never stayed at a B&B before, so I was very nervous not knowing what to expect. The whole house was very clean, the rooms were perfectly put together, and the breakfast was amazingly delicious. Anyone who needs some time away, this place is an absolute must!
