The farm was recommended to us by a friend who returns there yearly with her grandchildren. Our stay (Tuesday September 6 through Thursday September 8, 2016) included our granddaughter, who is 20 months old, my daughter and her husband and his parents. We reserved "the apartment" which had two bedrooms, comfortable sleeping arrangements for snorers and non-snorers. It also included a full kitchen and living room. We arrived on the Tuesday afternoon after Labor Day, and immediately enjoyed the swings, the mini-house and the bike garage. There was also a golf cart available and we used it to go to the creek across the street, around which chairs encircle a fire pit. Kayaks were also available for use, which my daughter and son-in-law loved. Our granddaughter was happy to wade in the parts of the creek which were shallow, and picked up and threw stones. We fed the goats watermelon rinds and were actually able to go inside the fence to pet them. There is a chicken house, where baskets are available to collect eggs. Breakfast was a delicious home-cooked masterpiece, including, peaches and cream French toast, breakfast meats, eggs and plenty of fresh fruit, as well as many other goodies. After breakfast, many structured activities were planned, such as the tractor pull of mini carts, pony rides, and hay ride through to Yippee farms and through a covered bridge. I can definitely understand why visitors return year after year, and I would advise booking early to reserve your date, especially through the summer months since days and weekends were pretty much booked through Labor Day. It is definitely on my return list, but my son-in-law requested that we bring fishing poles for next year. Thank you so much, Eileen and Galen, for a wonderful time!

This was our first visit on the farm. It exceeded our expectations. Plenty to do, fresh air, good hosts, and happy children who did not want to leave.

My granddaughter enjoyed the opportunity to get up close and personal with the calves and the animals in the petting pen. I especially enjoyed the peaceful and relaxing time spent on the front porch swing. We also appreciated the two recommendations from our hosts to experience the nearby E-town fair one evening and Roots market the next day. An outstanding experience we're looking forward to returning. Annette M

I wish I could give this bed and breakfast 10 stars. That's what it deserves. The place is immaculate clean. It's so relaxing to be there. So much fun for kids from seeing all the animals to going on hayrides, golf carts, and the owner even took our child on a atv for a ride through the woods. The owners are so friendly and I can't say enough about how good the home cooked breakfast is. We go every year and I highly recommend it. Continue the good work our family appreciate its very much.

This was our first (of probably many future) visits to Rocky Acre Farm. The only downside comes on checkout day when you have to return to the real world from this magical place. Everything about it was just fantastic. The owners were some of the nicest people we've ever come across. The setting, on a gentle hillside overlooking the barns and fields was beautiful and calming. The rooms were simple yet elegant. The shared breakfast (a single feast for all guests at one huge table) was something from another (simpler) time. We quickly bonded with other families and felt like we'd been there for weeks. For context, I took my daughter to Costa Rica in April and Italy in June. She said that of the 3, Rocky Acre was the best. And on some level, I (reluctantly) agree. We can't wait to return, which we hope to do soon.

This was our first stay at the infamous Rocky Acre Farm Bed & Breakfast, and it was everything that we were told and more. Aside from the fantastic, fresh and plentiful breakfast, this is a one-of-a-kind family. They truly care about their guests, and they want to make sure we got everything out of it that we expected. They opened up their home and hearts to us for an adventure we won't forget.

We really enjoyed our long weekend here. The room (Guest House) was very large and worked perfectly for our family's needs. The breakfasts and farm activities were really fun. The location is also convenient to lots of area attractions, restaurants and stores.

This is the second time we have stayed at Rocky Acre and we loved it just as much as we did seven years ago. My children (ages 2, 3, 12, & 14) loved the kittens, seeing a baby cow being born, and kayaking in the nearby stream. Breakfast was amazing both mornings! It's a great area with lots to do as well, this time we spent a day at Hersheypark.

We loved that the children had the freedom to be as interactive as they like with the animals throughot the day. Our room was very cool on a hot day and exceptionally clean. I was concerned about the smell - being on a dairy farm - but there was none.

Great place to stay with kids they love the farm animals.

On the way home from a 2 night stay at Rocky Acre, my 8 year old son told us that this was "The BEST vacation ever" and my 5 year old daughter said it was "totally awesome!". This B&B is an amazing place where we all got to gather eggs, milk the cows, feed the calves, feed goats, and on our last morning we were lucky enough to watch the birth of a calf. Pony rides, tractor rides and a family hayride followed a breakfast that was nothing short of phenomenal. Mr. and Mrs. Benner have made this a very kid and family oriented vacation spot and it was so much fun to see all the kids playing together. The rooms are clean, the staff is friendly, and it truly is just a beautiful place. This was the most relaxing vacation we have every had with the kids!

Rocky Acres was everything it promised and more. The house was lovely and very cool on a hot day. Our room was just as pictured and very clean! Most of the activities were available throughout the day. River, kayaks, and play structures made it a great place for kids to play in the shade, while we relaxed. The family style breakfast was our favorite breakfast of our 7 day vacation!

It was great time; loved the Benners!

We are from the FL and came back to Rocky Acre for the second time. We love it here because we are not from the country and for us it's a different way of life for a few days. Even my 12 year old son enjoyed sitting on the porch just relaxing with the cats, when he wasn't off kayaking or we doing other things on the farm. We can't wait to go back again!!

This is the second time we've stayed at Rocky Acre Farms. We love it! Kids are welcome & it is so fun for them & us! Hay rides, tractor rides, pony rides, milk the cows, feed the goats, gather eggs, kayak or play in the creek, feed the bull calves...lots to do! Kittens everywhere! Breakfast is excellent - so much food! Best breakfast we've ever had. Rooms are extremely clean. I'm picky about cleanliness in hotels, b&b's, etc. and this place impresses me.
5 on June 26, 2016
We had two families plan the trip together. We brought food to grill out and a ball for kickball. Everything was amazing our kids aged 8 &5 loved playing with kittens and seeing all the farm activities. We loved every minute of it. All the kids said they would rather go back to the farm then to a the beach next year. We will definitely be back.

We had such a lovely stay at Rocky Acres! My husband and I traveled with our 3.5 yr old and 2 month old. The home was perfect for families with kids. Our room was very clean and did not feel like I was on a farm it was very comfy and well air conditioned and decorated tastefully which being a city girl I really appreciated. Our daughter loved playing with the kittens, playing in the playhouse and collecting eggs for breakfast. Which speaking of breakfast it was served family style and each dish was amazing. We will definitely be returning for another stay at Rocky Acres. Two days just wasn't enough!

Thankful for such an amazing family vacation. Our four children ages 11, 8, 5 and 4 absolutely loved their time on the farm. The room, breakfast and hosts were wonderful. There was so much to do and all of us enjoyed gathering the eggs, feeding the calves, goats and pony. It was also a great chance to learn about the dairy farm and visit the Lancaster/Dutch country. My kids are already asking when we can return and we have recommended it to all of our friends.

We have been coming to Rockyacre for the last 23 years. My parents vacationed here with my 3 sisters and myself since I am 9 years old ! I now vacation here with my husband and our 3 children. Holly, Eileen and Gaelin are more like family to us and we can not express our love enough for them and their beautiful farm. I highly recommended Rockyacre for anyone looking for relaxation yet fun for the whole family all tied into one. Thank you from our family to yours for yet another wonderful time and more memories with our littles. Best regards Allison Faraci- Weinmeier

We went for a weekend in May with our three young boys and had a fabulous experience. The boys loved the hayride, playing the the kitten, cuddling the the rabbits, running around, grilling marshmallows, running with the dogs on this scenic beautiful old style farm house with a charming and friendly host family. We never needed to venture outside, but Marietta and Elizabeth town nearby have nice dining, Cafes and many other child friendly venues and activities... highly recommended.

What can you say about a B and B that greets you with warm chocolate chip cookies and a clean beautiful room. We were greeted by Nancy who was wonderful and made us feel welcome and part of the family . Our room was great and our stay was way too short. Hate to have to leave as the Benner family makes you feel like part of the family . We were so lucky to be there when Mrs. Benner returned from Florida and she and Holly cooked up some delicious breakfasts . Nothing is better than their farm breakfasts. Can not wait until we go back to this place. My daughter counts the days and we both wish that we could go every weekend

We love Rocky Acre. My girls always find someone to play with, love feeding the animals and just have a great time. The rooms are amazingly clean, modern and spacious. The breakfast is AMAZZZING. These are good and kind people and I love their daily recommendations of things to do, along with the relaxing vibe of this fun, family-friendly farm. Cannot wait to go again!

All staff especially Holly, Laura and Jason were much more than great, they have found their calling and instantly make you feel like a part of their family. The rooms are immaculate and the country breakfast was fantastic. The farm experience was fun for the grand daughters and just as much fun for the grandparents. We loved everything about Rocky Acre and will return with more of the grand kids. Thank you for a great time. John, Peg, Alex and Sara

I have been taking my children here for a least 18 years. The rooms are so clean and comfortable. The owners and staff are friendly and warm. Wouldn't stay any place else when coming to Lancaster. My children love it here as well as I and my husband. We brought a family with us this last time and they absolutely loved it. I know I will always return here at least once a year and they want to come as well. Love the place and the people!

We enjoyed every minute. The farm had something wonderful for all the ages. We loved using the kayaks and the golf cart especially. The other guests were also friendly and welcoming. I only wished we had stayed longer.

We enjoyed a nice two days at Ricky Acre Farm B&B. My kids really loved the activities. Our room was clean and cozy, it had a sleeping loft which my 5 year old thought was really cool. Would like to visit again in warmer weather. The hayride took us on a beautiful tour which included two covered bridges. The cows seemed content and all the animals were friendly. The breakfast is AMAZING!!

We've been coming to Rocky Acre for eleven years and still love it as much now as we did the first time. My youngest daughter is 13 now and she still insists on getting up with the sun to feed the calves and cries when it is time to leave. We love everything about this place - from the to-die-for breakfasts, to the wonder of seeing a newborn calf being born and then feeding it a bottle for the first time, to the owners who treat you like family - Rocky Acre Farm really is a special place.

I visited rocky acres over spring break with my sister and two 4 year olds. We had so much fun doing all the activities on the farm from feeding calves, milking cows, collecting eggs, to horseback rides and an outstanding breakfast. The kids had a blast. So much to do but time to relax and takes in the beautiful farm. We are all already talking about a return visit.

Perfect experience for my family. Perfect location, size and feel. Feels like home from the moment you step in. Many things for kids to do and see. Their favorite was all the stray cats jumping on their laps by the front porch. Being a working farm we got to get eggs from the hen house, ride a pony, feed the goats and see the cows. We also enjoyed the hayride through the covered bridge and the "train cars" pulled by a 4-wheeler. Also have a golf cart, basketball hoop, bikes to use and water activities.

A must for a family farm visit. It will likely become an annual or bi annual trip. All the activities included and breakfast in the morning make the pricing appropriate. Pony rides, tractor ride, hay ride, cow milking, calf feeding, chicken egg collecting, bike riding, basketball, swings, stream, mountain climbing, and game room. Kids entertained for hours on end!

My kids have been all over the country...Hawaii (twice), New York, San Francisco, Disney, and countless other places. The number one place they always want to re-visit is Rocky Acre. There is just something special about it. It's relaxing and fun. There are animals. The breakfast is amazing. But it's more than that, and I'm not even sure what that is. Just that we will return, again and again.
5 on September 15, 2015
Rocky Acre is a slice of heaven! It's a great place to take the extended family for a few days. The kids have a great time with all the kid-friendly activities, they learn about farm life, they interact with cows, goats, a pony and kittens, and can enjoy free play in the fresh air. Adults also have a great time--of course, they enjoy watching the kids have a great time, but this is a place to unwind, relax, swing on the porch, visit with friends if you take more than one room, and enjoy Amish country. There is so much to do that you can't do it all in one visit...so you make choices, and can come back again and again. Their rooms are pristine, with private baths, and the hosts will do whatever it takes to make you happy..what more can you ask?? Oh, and did I mention the huge, fresh farmer's breakfast? Better come hungry..it's plentiful and delicious! My family has visited many times, and this time we were lucky enough to be there when a cow was giving birth, which was amazing! If you are considering Rocky Acre for your next vacation, don't walk...run! You will not be disappointed!
5 on August 29, 2015
The hosts were amazing and loving people. We had so much fun on the dairy farm that no one in our family wanted to leave. We saw baby calves born and then got to bottle feed them the next day. We stayed right in the middle of Amish country. It was absolutely breathtaking. We have already rebooked for next year.

My husband and I and our two daughters (5 and 7) stayed at Rocky Acre recently for our first time. The kids loved it so much, they cried that we had to go home. The family and staff are so friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere is laid back and relaxing. It's close to lots of fun Lancaster area activities. Great place to stay!

From the farm animals to the river to the fun of riding around bikes and tractors, the farm offers it all in a welcoming, beautiful setting. The breakfasts are huge and accommodating to all palates, the rooms are tidy, and we will be back next year!

We have been visiting Rocky Acres since 1986. Every time is just as relaxing as the last. The breakfast table is even better, as everyone has more time for fellowship, always fun to hear which animal is the favorite (almost always the cats!) and how long you have been visiting. This farm B&B is a sure thing.

The inn keepers and staff were great. We especially enjoyed Jason, the farm helper who took the kids and families on the train and hay ride. This is the perfect place for children. You must enjoy being on a farm. The smell of manure is a little over whelming at first but by the next day we didn't really notice it anymore. We stayed in the "apartment" room and it was perfect in every way. Speaking of perfect, you will LOVE the breakfast. Delicious and PLENTIFUL. The hot chocolate is amazing! We took our 14 month old here and she loved the animals. There is a pony in the meadow named "Cupcake" whom she won't stop talking about :) We definitely would like to return again.

I cannot say enough about Rocky Acre and the Benner family. My family has been visiting for about 20 years, from when the kids were in preschool. They are teens and twenties, but we keep coming, because it's like coming home! So now we come with friends, some with young children, and everyone has a great time on the farm! The kids enjoy kid-friendly activities, and the adults enjoy the relaxation. The Benners are amazing hosts! The game room is a nice addition, too. All the reviews tell the story...great place, great people, great fun!

I went to Rocky Acre Farm for the first time over Easter weekend. I took my teen-aged daughter and we both had an amazing time! The place is immaculate and comes with tons of great, free activities to do on-site! The room was VERY reasonably priced and includes breakfast. What we did: We milked cows (the B&B is on a dairy farm), fed goats, WATCHED A CALF BEING BORN(!), brushed a horse, played with kittens, took a hayride, drove a golf cart to a meadow, hung out by a stream and swung on a tire swing. What fun!! We could have taken out a kayak or canoe for free, but we're saving that for next time. The breakfast they serve was to die for. The staff were very sweet and some went way beyond the call of duty for us many times! We could not have been happier. I booked our next stay as soon as I got home. What a get-away from our city lives! We loved our room, the B&B house, the porch and all the swings, and the nice people we met. The rural setting is beautiful and close to many Amish farms, where you can get a buggy ride if you choose. We did a back roads tour that the Rocky Acre folks recommended and saw amazing Amish landscapes, one-room school houses, and lots more. I Highly recommend Rocky Acre for anyone - folks with small children, couples who don't take themselves to seriously, or parents with teens. if you want an escape from city life, this is the place for you. Remember it is a working Dairy farm and it has that 'farm smell', which I almost miss already. Hard to find availability in the summer here, but you can get on a cancellation list. I love Rocky Acre!
5 on April 15, 2015
All I can say is that my husband went here as a child (and loved it) & we have just come back from taking our kids there. I was hesitant at first, because who knows how well its been maintained after 30 years. Well, WOW! It was such a special place. Not to be missed if you have small kids. The innkeepers are so sweet & the food and rooms were fantastic. Really can not wait to go back!

We had the pleasure of staying at Rocky Acre for two nights after Easter this past month and we had an amazing time! I had known for some time that I wanted to do a farmstay vacation but was overwhelmed trying to select a farm. It was only when a friend overheard me talking about it and mentioned her experience at Rocky Acre that I found this outstanding location! Everything you read in the reviews is spot on! The rooms are SO CLEAN! The Breakfast is HUGE and SO YUMMY! The kids can do lots of farm "chores" and love to feel included. My only suggestion would be to have a more formal check in process as it did feel a bit odd to me to just be walking around not knowing who was a guest and who was a member of the B&B family but I was prepared for that from reading other reviews. This place is a must visit for families wanting to just unwind for a bit. It should also be noted that there are farm kittens all around and they are looking to be played with, so adorable!

We LOVE Rocky Acre Farm B&B! This was our second visit and we are already planning our next trip. The daily breakfast is outstanding and you genuinely feel like part of the family. This time was extra special because we got to experience the birth of a baby calf! This farm is a place for all ages and interests! A great family getaway!

Each day started with the most delicious breakfast ever with many different dishes to try and each one better than the last one. After breakfast there is pony ride, tractor ride and hayride. All throughout the day there are many animals to visit, milking of cows, petting area, gathering of eggs, and cuddling of kittens. Our visit was days of rain on & off and cold( for April), but it didn't stop us from doing whatever we wished to do. The game room was a hit and the driving of the golf cart was special to my grandsons. There are also many attractions in the area. We visited Strasburg railroad museum , Laser tag, Science museum.

Spent the last weekend with my family at the farm for the third time. My kids, ages 3 and 5, have so much fun here. Our room was great. We had the fireplace room with plenty of space for the four of us. The morning breakfast is fabulous. It's a big country breakfast with tons of food. You will never go hungry. Once breakfast is over, guests head outside for a pony ride, a train ride and a hayride. In addition, we fed a day old calf, a lamb and picked chicken eggs. There were several cows ready to give birth but none went into labor while we were there. We went to a bonfire and had smores at night. There is a game room we played in at night and my kids slept like babies all night long. As we left the farm at the end of our stay, I immediately put my request in for another weekend stay. It's a fun family place.

Our family visited Rocky Acre on the 2015 opening weekend and had a great time, even though it was cold in the morning. The staff was amazing, especially with our young kids, and our accommodations were even better than mentioned in other reviews. On their first farm experience, our kids got to feed a baby lamb and calves, milk cows, ride the miniature horse, pet the goats, collect chicken eggs, and ride the train and tractor rides. They can't wait to come back!

Kids played with the kitties, used the updated game room (ping pong, air hockey and shuffle board) - t we saw a calf being born - a first for all of us - and enjoyed the huge farm breakfast.

I returned this past weekend to Rocky Acre after my last visit 10 years ago. the only thing that changed is that I forgot how awesome a place this is!! My wife and I stayed in the Efficiency room with our 2 year old son. we had a great time and my wife stated we will be returning on a yearly basis. My wife has a food allergy and the breakfast was catered to her allergies. the farm setting of rocky acre is a great environment for adults and children. thank you to the benner's for opening their home and farm to us!!

Galen and Eileen Benner could not be more gracious hosts! We chose to stay in the Founder's Suite, but you can't really go wrong with any of the rooms at Rocky Acre. They are all meticulously kept as well as comfortable and affordable. My family has been coming to the farm since my three children were little (4, 3 and 2 years old). Now they are teenagers, they still beg us to go back to visit, year after year. There is always something new to discover or do- whether it's bottle feeding a baby calf or playing air hockey in the game room, there is truly something for everyone. And the breakfast by the way- can't be beat. Delicious!

Once again, we experienced an outstanding three days at our favorite B&B. Nothing beats the Benner Breakfast, and the warm and friendly atmosphere of Rocky Acre. The farm offers plenty of activities for families, and plenty of peace and quiet for the traveler seeking a get away from everyday activities. Every guest is made to feel welcome. The farm setting is truly unique and beautiful.

We just got back from our first stay at Rocky Acre and it did not disappoint!! Galen, Eileen, and their family and staff were incredible. The premise was immaculately kept, rooms were updated, extremely clean, and inviting, and the food was amazing. Our kids had a blast with the kittens and all of the tractor rides, pony rides, and other activities they had planned for the day. The only problem was that we weren't ready to leave! We will definitely return in the future!

We have been going to Rocky Acre Farm B&B since our son was 2. He is now 7 and still loves it! The Benners make you feel like one of the family. They are special people, and it has been a privilege to spend time in their home.

Rocky acres was a wonderful experience! We are farmers from Georgia and had a blast experiencing 'farm life' on a Pennsylvania dairy farm! The breakfasts were unbelievable and hospitality even better!!!

We love this place! We are a family of 7. There was something for everyone. Our little ones played with kittens, collected eggs, fed the bull calves. Our other kids milked cows, fed the goats, drove the golf cart, and played in the game room. The breakfast was delicious, the staff was great! We stayed in the apartment, the oldest part of the farm. The rooms were great (we loved the feel in the living room). We would def stay here again.

My family (2 x adults & 2 kids (10 and 8)) stayed and had a really great time. We had the efficiency room, which while was at the top of 2 narrow flights of stairs, was great. Large clean room, queen + 2 x singles + spa like ensuite. Great local recommendation for dinner. Breakfast was awesome. couldn't eat anymore. After breakfast the owner gave free rides on ponies, hay rides, ATV rides, etc. to show off his farm. I could not have asked for more. Strongly recommend for anyone with kids! We'll be back!!!

Truly enjoyed our longer labor day weekend stay at the Rocky Acre Farm B&B. Our top picks were the activities offered for the kids and the entire family, i.e. pony and barrel and hey tractor rides. My daughter has spent most of her time playing with kittens, loved the kids playhouse and game room. great breakfast, clean rooms and caring staff. great location to explore the area, however you could also just spend the entire stay at the B&B too!

I wanted to take our two kids (8 & 10) to a farm to experience something different than our typical beach trips we take. When I was about 10 I spent two weeks on my Uncles farm and those great memories are still with me nearly 35 years later. This place came highly recommended by a friend and the reviews were fantastic. The room was great. It was modern inside, yet had the charm of a century ago. We stayed for two days and we planned to stay on the farm the whole time (except for dinner). Our kids enjoy getting the eggs from the hen house and they even milked the cows. I was hoping they would have enjoyed the farms animals a little more, but the kitttens stole the show. The golf cart they have there for guests use was also a big hit with my son. The reviews of the breakfast set the bar extremely high, but although I enjoyed the breakfast, I was not blown away. Don't get me wrong, breakfast is very good there, but I did not get the same experience as the other guests who left reviews. Because we spent all the time at the Farm, a major factory in how much fun the kids will have is the other guests that are there. When we arrived, most of the kids were older (about 7 years old to teens) which was great for our family. The kids and adults have alot of fun playing basketball, etc. When we were leaving, there were infants/todlers. Babies crying is not what you want to hear on vacation (especially at a bed & breakfast where you are all so close) plus not many kids for my kids to play with. They have a great (FREE) game room with plenty to to do in the evening or when raining. They have air hockey, pool, ping pong, skeeball and shuffle board...all free. Our family had a wonderful time and plan to go back. As long as there are other kids close to my kids age, they will have a great time!
5 on August 18, 2014
This is a place you'll go back to year after year. We do. Just relax on a working farm, take in the sights or visit HersheyPark. There's no lack of either relaxation or things to do. You'll be treated like visiting friends and family. But, don't delay, they sell out a year in advance.

The farm was amazing with lots of activities all included in your stay-hay ride each morning, pony rides, milk cows, pick eggs from hen house, kayacking, feed the goats, and more! Perfect family-friendly farm. We already booked for next year!

We stayed at Rocky Acre at the beginning of August and the stay far exceeded my expectations. The staff and other guests were so friendly that it felt that you were part of the family. It was so great for the kids to experience some aspects of farm life like collecting eggs and feeding the calves. We were even lucky enough to see a calf being born. My kids enjoyed playing with the other children, and there was so much to keep them occupied. I was so happy to see them get away from the electronic games. I can't wait to visit again!

We took our granchildren, ages 8 and 5 and spent three nights at Rocky Acre. It was so much fun and the children were thrilled. They loved the animals, the hayride, the pony ride, etc. They loved exploring the farm area and getting the eggs from the hen house. It is a great location for venturing out to Dutch Wonderland, Lancaster, and Cherry Crest Adventure Farm. Our stay couldn't have been better. Ray and Sue Kelton of East Brunswick, N.J.

My 8 year old daughter and I have been going to Rocky Acre Farm B&B for 8 years and love it more and more each time we visit. The Benner family (owners) have welcomed us just as if we were part of their family. We have made great friendships with the guests over the years and look forward to our visits each year. I am sure that my family will be visiting for generations to come.
5 on July 15, 2014
We stayed in the guesthouse 2 years in a row. We are the newbies. Most are repeat guests on their 5 plus visit. We booked next year so we are guaranteed the weekend we want. Delicious family style breakfast. The kids didn't want to leave the farm to visit Lancaster county. They are happy to hang outside the main house and cuddle with the kittens! My children are in elementary and preschool but we have met older kids and teens that continue to go with their parents.

We love this B&B, in fact this was our third year going there, and next year we plan to make it our fourth. The owners and employees are wonderful, the food is terrific, and there is so much to see and do around the B&B. Also, the B&B is a working farm, so the kids can gather eggs, try their hand at milking cows, play with the goats and pony, go on hay rides, etc., etc. it's just a teriffic place for families to stay - I couldn't recommend highly enough!! Julie Feldman
5 on July 04, 2014
My wife and I celebrated our 45th anniversary there. It is perfect for couples with or without children. It is a working farm with a lot of animals including cows, goats, cats (lots of kittens), calfs, etc. There is a tractor-train for kids and a great tractor pulled hayride through the backcountry farms. If you like a laid back farm atmosphere, this is the place to be. The other guest's children (ages about 4 to 14) really seemed to enjoy the farm. The host family (not just innkeepers but FAMILY) were wonderful also. This is a farm that is going to celebrate its' 100th anniversary of being in the same family. I would recommend this B&B to anyone that wants to go to a really really good place. I look forward to going back again next year!! Steve & Lorene D

5 on June 17, 2014
We stayed at the Rocky Acre Farm for 2 nights in mid-June 2014. We found ourselves staying with many repeat guests at this charming B&B, and we could see why. It is terrific for families with children. Aside from the fact that it is a working dairy farm with lots of milk cows and calves, they have chickens, goats, a sheep, a pony, and kittens. Our party consisted of 3 generations (including a senior citizen and a 3-year-old), and we all were drawn in by the ease and idyll of Rocky Acre. The animals are so accustomed to being handled that they're tame and friendly. My preschooler loved feeding the chickens, gathering eggs, and feeding the goats and sheep. The breakfast is incredible-- eggs, bacon or ham, waffles or French toast, fruit, coffee, juice and more. Our whole family enjoyed the farm activities, including pony rides, a "tractor train" ride, and a hayride that stopped at an Amish farm. The Rocky Acre activities lasted until about 11am, after which we took day trips to Dutch Wonderland, the Strasburg Railroad, and Turkey Hill ice cream factory. Our room was immaculately clean and quiet. We stayed in the Efficiency, and slept peacefully with plenty of hot water, a refrigerator for our personal use, and no noise from other guests. We hope to return next year for another fun stay at Rocky Acre. We do not have a farm like this in our extended family anymore, so being able to go to Rocky Acre and give my child an experience in rural life is the next best thing.

Following the best breakfasts, the activities for our Grand Kids each morning were great. They quickly made friends with other children staying there. Enjoyable was the egg collections from the chicken coop and the attempts to milk a cow. It was a fabulous change of pace - peaceful and quiet and the B&B was not far from attending nearby local events and sights.

We have come back to this B&B for several years. Nobody walks away hungry from breakfast. The rooms are clean and well decorated. But most of all, there are so many activities for the children - cart ride, hay ride, bikes, basketball court, pony ride, golf cart that the family can use, livestock for all to enjoy, a new game room with ping pong, pool table, ski ball, shuffleboard, and air hockey, and a little house for the kittens. Your kids will not want to leave.

We had a wonderful time during our stay at Rocky Acres. My two girls (4 and 6) were asking when we could come back even before lunchtime the first day we were there. Before arriving, I had searched the local area on the internet to see what we might go out and do during the daytime, but we never even left (aside from running to the grocery store in town to pick up a picnic lunch). There were so many things available for us to do on our own time, as we wanted to. We paddled the boat together in the stream, made a fire in the fire pit to roast marshmallows in the evening, fed the goats & calves, collected eggs, played on the swings, took part in the milking - everything. And the Benner family did so many personal things that made our visit special just by being who they are. Farmer Galen could not have been more generous with his attention to the kids -- with pony rides & hay rides, and even card tricks at breakfast. I understand there's even a game room for evenings and rainy days, but we never even saw it! We really want to go back soon. If you're interested in this kind of thing at all, we highly recommend Rocky Acres for a stay.

This was our second visit to Rocky Acre and it was just as wonderful as we remembered it. The Benners, including their children and grandchildren, are so welcoming, warm, and friendly and go out of their way to make everyone feel at home. The farm house and surrounding area are absolutely gorgeous and the kids had a blast. We can't wait to go back!!!

This is not a BnB for those who want to be pampered, but you can be comfortable and feel at home here. Nice experience for city slickers. Sort of an eye-opener about the happenings in the dairy business, too. You can be as involved in the activities as you'd like. Game room, animals galore, a breakfast that can't be beat! Loved meeting our hosts and the other guests. The kids have already talked of returning for another stay.

Rocky Acre B & B is a fun experience for the whole family...especially for kids who love animals. Located in a beautiful setting, the working farm has a variety of animals and chores to be done in which you can participate. You can collect eggs from the henhouse, feed the sheep or new calves a bottle, watch the cows being milked, or ride a pony! Rooms are very clean and breakfast is delicious! It was our first time, but we met many families who had been coming for years! A fun few days for us! Many people stay for the whole week!

My children (11 & 8) had a great time! Very kid oriented. The staff was amazing. Food was wonderful. My son has a gluten intolerance and they made him gluten free food. I couldn't have asked for more. Great location as well. We were very impressed by how clean it was. Plenty to do which made it hard to leave and site see. :) I definitely recommend this B&B.

We stayed at Rocky Acre just for one night after attending a show at Sight and Sound Theatre. It was wonderfully relaxing even for the one night and our family had so much fun. Our 9 year old dubbed it the "best bed and breakfast ever!" From the moment we arrived and Nancy helped with our bags and offered for us to eat the pizza we had brought with us at the kitchen table, to the well stocked game room, to the wonderful breakfast and fellowship with other guests in the morning - everything was great. Our farm activities included, collecting eggs, feeding the calves in the morning, riding a pony and a "train ride". The location is perfect, quiet, and relaxing. We felt at home the entire time. We'll definitely be back in warmer months!

We really could not ask for any better of an experience than our 2 day stay at the Rocky Acre Farm B & B. The breakfast was beyond fabulous both mornings. I am a chef/baker and trust me when I say, that they do a wonderful job with their breakfast! The rooms were cozy and adorable, the atmosphere in the house was bubbling and fun, very ideal for families but enough privacy for a romantic getaway. Our party was an all-girls trip with 3 adults and 2 children ages 5 and 8. They loved their experience. The game room, playground, playhouse, cow milking experience, pony ride, tractor ride and tour, and of course the morning barrel train ride all added to the experience. There was so much for the kids to do and explore. Everyone is very friendly and accommodating. We definitely hope to come back some time in the near future!

When we pulled up to the farm on Halloween, it was already dark out so we didn't get to appreciate the beauty of the property until the morning. However, as we got out of our car, we were greeted by the most loving kitties we've ever met. We stayed in the "Fireplace Room" which was very clean, spacious and had a roaring fireplace, comfortable bed and relaxing Jacuzzi in the bathroom. Field stone and pine were everywhere, along with decorative built ins and lots of antiques. We sat on the porch with our coffee admiring the scenery. The day was just breaking and the parlor was lit only by another enormous fireplace. We sat in comfortable rocking chairs and finished our coffee in front of the fire until it was time for Eileen's never-ending breakfast! We started with some fresh fruit, Shoo-Fly Cake, muffins, eggs, potatoes, turkey bacon, waffles; it just kept coming; everything delicious! After breakfast, we visited the cows & chickens. Galen then invited us, along with other guests, to go on a hay ride. Galen introduced us into their game room which had billiards, air hockey, shuffleboard, Skee-Ball, and lots of games & puzzles. Galen treated us to a private hay ride to see other areas in his luxury 4 person trailer that has comfortable bench van seats, and the entire apparatus raised and lowered for exit and entry. It was a grand tour! Eileen suggested we take a golf cart and explore the meadow across the road. We played with the baby goats and miniature horse. The hidden meadow had picnic tables, a fire pit, a tire swing and a boat launch for their canoes and kayaks. They also told us the stream was full of trout and bass! As we were leaving, Eileen showered us with gifts in celebration of our 8th wedding anniversary. It was then we asked them to adopt us! We found a little piece of Heaven right here in PA & we'll be back next Summer! Thank you so much for your hospitality Eileen & Galen! With Love, Greg & Wendy Zangari Chester, PA

Our family has stayed at Rocky Acre Farm Bed & Breakfast several times. A working Mennonite farm, there are all kinds of learning opportunities for kids, from milking the cows, to gathering eggs, to hearing about the rich history of the underground railroad. Daily activities include a huge breakfast, hayride, pony ride, use of the golf carts, a "cat house" for kitty lovers, and a new gameroom. The B&B is close to Lancaster and provides a perfect place to stay while attending Sight & Sound productions. The only improvement would be to better inform first-time visitors of the check-in procedure. The Farm is very laid back with no formal "Office" at which to check in. Upon arrival, you simply locate your room (they are all unlocked) and make yourselves to home. While exploring the property, you will generally run into a family or staff member in order to let them know you've arrived. The check-out procedure consists of finding your way to the kitchen, where a family or staff member will collect your money (cash or checks only--no credit/debit cards) and send you on your way. The family & staff are very friendly and will give you any information you need about the Farm or neighboring attractions. The rooms are rather high-priced, but the overall experience is well worth it.

Our family had an amazing time here! I really can't express on paper how wonderful the family that owns the place are! The food is outstanding and there is lots of it! If you leave hungry it is totally your fault! We didn't even have time to explore Hershey or Amish Country because we couldn't peel our kids away from the farm. We really didn't mind because we were having so much fun also! We just figured we would have to go back to see the things we missed the first time! Sounds like a plan!!!

It is not often that you get to experience the true level and meaning of hospitality that Rocky Acres affords the traveler. The time we spent at his bed and breakfast, was one of the best examples of inn keeping that we have seen in a very long time. I would return at any time, and as a former hotelier, this kind of review is hard to get from me! Don't miss out on a fun time for anyone looking for a peaceful, calm and beautiful environment for both adults and children.

Next time I would book it for a full week. Wonderful hospitality. The owners truly love what they do and it shows..

5 on September 25, 2013
This was our 8th trip to the farm! We all love it so much! From mom and dad down to our kids ages 12,10, 4, 2, and 1, it's our favorite getaway by far.

My family stayed for 3 nights at Rocy Acre Farm and it was great. The room (Founders') was better than any I've stayed at (clean, plenty of room, new). Breakfast was plentiful and absolutely delicious. The kids greatly enjoyed the activities (pony rides, train ride, hay ride, animals etc.) My only criticism is a little more guidance would have helped since this was our first visit.

Came to show my adult daughter the farm, unfortuntaly she injured her leg before we came so was mobile limited. All the staff was kind and helpful beyond anything expected. They made special efforts at breakfast and she enjoyed her stay so much more because of the staff consideration. Eileen also borrowed special equipment just to acomadate her. Thank you and your staff soo much, The apartment is wonderful and my grandchildren are so free they love the cows, calfs, chicken house all the rides, my 2 year old grandaughter thought she moved there and on the hayride she used straw in her mouth as she felt a farmer would . Love rocky acre farm, also my daughter's favorate, your horse, All these ammenaties and the special wonderful breakfasts too..I cannot forget to mention Galen and his caring for our children tiredless everyday with his pony rides hay rides 4x4 rides. Thank you so much. jb

This has been my 52nd time coming here and I'm 14 years old. The farm life experience is one that truly is untouchable anywhere else. My mom and I had always enjoyed the farm experience since I was 3, and learned how to drive a tractor, by Galin Benner. Something about Rocky Acre that is noticeably different is the breakfast. For the people that have not yet visited but are looking into places, the breakfast is an exquisite combonation of authentic home style cooking and food for the kids, too.. And the best part is you collect the eggs in the morning. Overall, if you have stayed their and have thought that no one is their working, just know that if you see any of the teenage girls they are relatives, to the owners Ileen and Galen Benner, that know the drill! They will help get you squared away. And if I happen to be visiting, which is 4 times a year at key times such ass right before school, right after it and a few others, I will she you struggling with all your bags, help you carry them, I know all the rooms, so I, Ben Goldsmith, will help if you are there when I am. Don't feel lost, relax, for some that need the extra mile, there is a scheduled masseuse that periodic makes a visit, just inquire about it to Ileen Benner. Owners: Ileen Benner and Galen Benner Don't know what to do at the farm? Well you can easily ask Ileen or Holly Benner(daughter), they know what goes on around there. Also big tip, inquire about rutz pronounced routzzz. Say Ben Goldsmith recommended it and they will know me well. Enjoy your stay at ROCKY ACRE FARM, BED AND BREAKFAST. By Ben Goldsmith. The owners of the bed n breakfast where very friendly and made us feel very welcome. Atmosphere very homey. Enjoyed the animals and the activities available. Other guests very friendly. The breakfast was wonderful and a great way to start the day.
5 on September 09, 2013
The bed and breakfast was one of the cleanest placest I've ever stayed. My kids are already begging to go back there again. Guests were friendly and hosts had tractor rides, hay rides, and pony rides for the kids. The food was absolutely delicious and it was a vacation that we will remember forever!

Rocky Acre has plenty to see and do for a few days stay without even leaving the farm. Milking cows, collecting eggs, game room, rope swing by the creek, hay rides and pony rides to mention the few. The Benners welcome you into their home and are available to answer questions and to relay stories about their farm and Mount Joy. The breakfast is fantastic and all the people who work there are friendly. My kids are ready to book another stay "as soon as possible."

This family run farmhouse B&B was the highlight of our stay, We stopped in the Guesthouse 10 minutes walk away which was great, almost home from home, separate living room / full kitchen. Everyone really friendly and helpful, breakfast superb - what a choice each morning. Our kids loved the farm rides and pony, the hay ride is a great way to see the local area. New games room in the garage with plenty of fun stuff - air hockey, table tennis, bowling and more. This place is simply far better value and superior to a typical hotel, especially when you sampled the hospitality and breakfast! There is a very good reason why families return year after year to Rocky Acre, we will hopefully be another family to add to that list.

We pulled into the parking lot at Dutch Wonderland with our five year old. He threw a fit because he wanted to go to Rocky Acre Farm first! So we went on to the farm and went to DW the following day.

We loved it! The rooms are large and provide a feeling of privacy within the home. Breakfast was great with so many options. We visited several farm stay sites and this is the best. I can't even explain why, but the large farm, activities and relaxing atmosphere make it a trip worth repeating every year!
4.4 on August 19, 2013
Fun and relaxing for families. This was our second stay here and the kids had just as much fun at ages 14 and 10 as they did 7 years ago. We enjoyed the "farm stay" and we felt very much at home.
5 on August 19, 2013
My son and I stayed one night at the farm after spending the day at Hershey Park. We thought we would stay there instead of a hotel. We only stayed one night, and it wasn't nearly long enough. Neither of us wanted to leave. It is so peaceful and tranquil on the farm, with so much to do and see. The Benners are wonderful people who were felt like family by the time we left (and we were only there for one night!). The breakfast was amazing, my son loved the corn soup!! We plan to make it an annual trip. My only complaint is that we had to leave!!!

An amazing family vacation every time! The hospitality of the Benner family makes you at ease. Parents can relax and enjoy the scenery, while the kids have fun and stay busy.
5 on August 04, 2013
This was our second stay in the Apartment at Rocky Acre and we loved every minute of it. Kids got to see a calf being born our first night and enjoyed a hayride to an Amish farm through covered bridges. We did a Hershey Park day (waterpark) and Turkey Hill Experience on other days but the kids just wanted to hang out on the farm. They gathered eggs for breakfast, loved grooming Cupcake the pony and playing with the friendly goats, golf cart rides to the stream (and kayaking or searching the creek for crayfish), bonfires with smores, playing in the game room (shuffleboard, pool, ping pong, skeeball) with their new friends. We just watched from our porch swings as they ran back and forth to all the activities around the farm with new found friends from all different states. This really is a wonderful family experience- the Benner family (all of them) make the stay very laid back and fun for everyone. Especially the kids. The breakfast is fabulous and the good old-fashioned family fun makes you wish you lived in the country all year round.

We stayed with our two daughters, ages 7&8, and had a great time. The breakfast is great , the rooms are comfortable, and there is lots to do at the farm and in that area of PA. Definately recommend this to any family with or without children. Cost the same as a hotel, even cheaper then what I've paid with much more unique things to do.

Not much to do at the farm, plan on finding tourist locations in the area. Sick little kitty should have been removed from all the children man-handling it. Never got to use "train", it was off site. No hayride. Milking cows is at a time when you are probably out and about on a tourist activity. They should have a couple cows on a different milking schedule so the children could try it after breakfast. Gavin is the grampa you wish you had.

I had been to Rocky Acre many years ago and always wanted to return. I finally got to take my 11 year old for a few days and we both loved it. The farm is a wonderful place to stay and there is so much to do both there and in the vicinity. We hope to go back next year for a longer stay.
4.8 on July 19, 2013
There were 10 of us in our group, and everyone had a great time! We had 3 young children with us, and they thoroughly enjoyed everything Rocky Acre had to offer - the pony rides, the kittens, the numerous toys, the hay ride, and the tractor ride! They also loved all the farm animals - the cows, chickens, and goats were all exciting for them (especially picking eggs from the chicken coop). I can't write a review without giving numerous compliemtns to the breakfast that Rocky Acre provides. It's amazing! The owners and staff go above & beyond to make sure that everyone is well-fed and the food is delicious! During breakfast, they are always happy to talk about Lancaster and the things to do there. Their suggestions were perfect! Some of our group stayed in the Guesthouse. It was a great place for a larger group, as the living room area provided us space to hang out if anyone was sleeping in the bedroom. It was also nice having a kitchen area with a refridgerator. Overall, I can honestly say that I love Rocky Acre B&B. I loved it as a child, and still love it as an adult!
5 on July 16, 2013
I only have one suggestion, have hand sanitizer dispensers out by the animals so children can clean their hands after playing with the many cats at the farm.
5 on July 13, 2013
We love everything about this place!
5 on July 12, 2013
We had a great time at Rocky Acre Farm, breakfast was out of this world. Kids loved all the cool things to do at the farm. And the family were fabulous.

Rocky Acre is a slice of Heaven! Breakfast is delicious!
5 on July 10, 2013
We had a great time at the Bed and Breakfast, and we can't wait to return again. Kevin and his daughter were extremely friendly and helpful. There were tons of activities for kids at the farm. My 2 year old daughter loved petting the animals, gathering eggs from the chicken coop, riding in the golf cart to visit the cows, and playing with the kittens.
5 on July 09, 2013
Our family traveled to PA for the first time last week and took a chance on this B&B. It exceeded our expectations in every way. It is family owned and operated, and each person there makes you feel welcomed and part of the family. We stayed in the Guesthouse which is just a short walk or drive from the main house but joined all guests for breakfast and morning activities each day. Breakfast was a FEAST each day with fresh fruits, baked goods, eggs, turkey bacon, waffles, pancakes, hashbrowns, etc., etc, etc. We didn't need to eat again until late afternoon. It was FANTASTIC! We traveled to PA to enjoy Hershey which we did but we found there were so many more things to explore when we were there. The B&B was only 20 - 40 minutes from everything we wanted to see. It was a perfect spot. The B&B has so many activities on site you really do not have to venture out at all. For the animal lovers, they have cats, chickens, cows, goats, and ponies. For the nature lovers, they have a beautiful creek for kayaking and corn fields for miles. It was amazing! One of the highlights of our trip to PA!
4.8 on July 07, 2013
This was one of hte best B&B's we have stayed at. Not only was the B&B comfortable and lovely to stay in - it turned into part of our vacation adventure as well; from feeding cows, to petting horses & goats, to collecting fresh eggs, playing on the playground, and petting kittens - our daughters enjoyed every minute of it! The breakfast was absolutely fabulous - served "family style" at one long table with the blessing said every morning. We will definitely return. The only complaint is when we came to check in - we didn't know who was an owner and who was a guest - as everyone was so friendly!
4.4 on July 04, 2013
Our third stay at this B&B was as good as ever. The kids always have a blast playing on the farm with the other kids and the animals. The rooms are clean and well kept and the breakfast never disappoints.

Our family had a great time at Rocky Acre...we have 4-year-old twins and a 6-year-old who didn't want to leave! The kittens were certainly a favorite but the goats and pony were also very friendly and fun to feed/visit. Fantastic hot chocolate straight from the cows for breakfast...beautifully clean rooms...kayaks and tire swing at the creek...run by a very nice family who truly want you to enjoy yourselves. We will be back!
5 on July 02, 2013
We had 4 generations on our trip and everyone enjoyed themselves! We stayed in the "aparrtment" which was like a home away from home. The kids would have been content not to do any excursions and just stay on the farm all day. The girls would have been more than happy to cuddle with the kittens while the boys fished in the meadow. We will definitely be returning. The kids loved the breakfasts made with the eggs they gathered!!
5 on June 29, 2013
Our three children, ages 6, 9, and 12 loved our stay. We managed to reserve a last minute one night stay and I am so glad we did. The host family (generations) are so wonderful. Our kids loved playing with the cats, exploring the playhouse, feeding and talking to the goats, checking out the cows, meeting and riding (for the 6 year old) the miniature horse, a small train ride, and a hay ride. Not to mention the walk down to the creek and the tire swing. Sealing the deal was the most wonderful breakfast. We are vegetarian and there was plenty for our picky eaters to eat. Right after breakfast, they asked when we could come back to the farm. Best place for kids where everyone can relax and enjoy a bit of rural life.
5 on June 29, 2013
Our family vacation at Rocky Acre Farm Bed and Breakfast was great! The rooms were beautiful and very clean. The family atmosphere was enjoyable. It was so nice to relax on the farm. We loved petting the kittens, collecting the eggs and playing with the baby billy goat. Laura was a great host and we can't wait to go back again !

Found this place by chance. Amazing family experience. Super friendly, laid back hosts. Great farm experience for an urban family. Beware of the kitten litters, they are addictive! Highly recommended.
5 on June 19, 2013
We go every year, and the children have the best time. They never even want to leave the property. There is so much to do, and everyone is nice. The breakfasts are incredible, and the Benners always have a good story to share! We highly recommend Rocky Acre Farm to anyone, especially with children!

We really liked our stay! My son enjoyed all farm activities! Very nice house and area around, friendly people. We will return !
4.6 on June 17, 2013
The rooms are very nice, clean, and charming. The farm is really a fantastic experience for kids, with plenty of kittens to play with, tractor rides, cows to visit (the milking process can be observed or attempted!), goats and chicken to feed, eggs to be collected... A delicious, elaborate, homemade, family-style breakfast is served every morning.

Gathering eggs from the hen house, hay rides, feeding bull calves, and an amazing breakfast you'll die for!
5 on June 15, 2013
Great interactive bed and breakfasts. Wonderful time with family for all ages. Very very clean house overall and very clean rooms (most updated with new fixtures, decor). Microwave for use for whole house downstairs. Breakfast is not to be missed. All home cooked fresh food and fruit. Hearty breakfast, no one in my family ever left hungry and they love to eat. Hayrides for families, pony rides for kids, gather eggs from hen house, milk goats, fed/pet goats. Very fun time had by all.
5 on June 15, 2013
The house, farm, activities, and especially the breakfast exceeded my exceptations. My son loved milking the cows, feeding the calves, collecting eggs from the hen house and playing with the other children. Don't forget the also have a creek, golf cart, game room (new & very cool). My 7 year old said "I'm going to miss the farm." The house and rooms were exceptional. I couldn't gloat more about this treasure in Pennsylvania Dutch Country.
5 on June 11, 2013
We had a fantastic time and we plan to travel all the way back from California to visit again! All of the staff were very welcoming and helpful. Our kids loved all the farm activities. This was one of our favorite vacations ever! We would highly recommend Rocky Acre Farm to families.
5 on June 10, 2013
we loved every minute at the farm. from the amazing breakfast to the farm experiences of gathering eggs, feeding the cows, milking the cows, playing with the kittens, the lake, the hayride, just everything was perfect. We will keep coming back. Our children are so sad when we leave the farm and talk about it all the time. Thanks again for a memorable, wonderful vacation!

We've stayed here several times and keep coming back because of the child friendly nature ( our 2 boys love it ) awesome breakfasts and the friendly owners and staff! The rooms are clean and well kept too!

I have been coming to Rocky Acres since 1986 and have enjoyed every visit. Have been hear with a friend and her grandson the last two years, he likes the new gameroom, but he LOVES to ride the golf cart, especially down to the stream. The breakfast is out of this world, don't miss the fresh hot chocolate!
5 on May 24, 2013
We had a wonderful time on the farm, and our son loved all the activities for the kids. He enjoyed collecting chicken eggs, tractor rides, 4wheeler rides, and feeding all the animals. He especially liked riding the pony. The breakfast was fantastic and provided time to get and know the owners and interact with them. Galin and Eileen were superb hosts, and made us feel very welcome on their farm and in their home. The support staff were equally as welcoming and helpful, I want to include them because without them the experience wouldn't be the same. A special recognition to Jason, he made our sons day with his extra attention to all the little ones who never seemed to tire of pony or tractor rides.

Our first time at Rocky Acres will definitely not be our last! What an amazing time we had! The kids found plenty to do by roaming the farm, riding the golf cart, kayaking, and spending time with the animals. They spent all day outside! And my 17 year old is still raving about the breakfast! Our room was beautiful and perfect for a family of 5. We left there feeling relaxed and refreshed, with a wonderful appreciation of farm life. Thank you!

This was our second time coming. Even though the weather was bad on the first day - our second day made up for it. Our three grandkids loved it as much this time as the first.
4.8 on April 27, 2013
This was our 2nd stay at Rocky Acre. Our first was 3 years ago when our kids were 2 and 4. My 2 year-old could not stop talking about it for 3 years and I finally looked ahead enough to snag a room for a few nights when we were available. It is even better. The first time we stayed at the apartment off property and while it was nice, being at the house is sooooo much better. Feeding the calves, interacting with the baby goats, being a part of the good vibes given by the inn keepers and other families was WONDERFUL. If you want a great time for the kids, an opportunity to connect with nature that is nestled in a great location, this is the place for your family. My son is already asking to go back next year and this time, I'm on it.
5 on April 26, 2013
We recently stayed here with my 4 year old son and 6 year old niece. They had the time of their lives! They were able to bottle feed the lamb and calves, collect eggs each morning and milk a cow. The tire swing was a big hit as was riding the golf cart around the farm. They also enjoyed the tractor and pony rides. Our room was beautiful and clean. We had a chance to look at all the rooms and would stay in any one of them. Breakfast was delicious. We will be going back for sure!

You will love this bed and breakfast. The staff is wonderful. The breakfast is out of this world. My grandchildren loved everything from milking the cows to collecting eggs to taking a pony ride to taking a hay ride to taking other rides on farm equipment to using the game room. Rocky Acres is must to stay if you have children or grandchildren. Hope to come back with my other grandchildren.

The staff of Rocky Acre Farm B&B were amazing. They gave my two children a memorable farm experience. My children gathered eggs in the hen house each day, fed a lamb with a baby bottle, held newborn goats and fed older ones. They saw how the the cows were milked 3 times a day. They were too chicken to participate though!!! Best of all they watched a calf take its first steps. After two nights we really did not want to leave. We all had a great time on tractor rides, playing basketball and having fun in the new rec room. We are all looking forward to going back sometime soon!!

It was outstanding will stay here in future.
3.6 on April 08, 2013
The staff was very friendly. There was a lot to do and the freedom to do it. Just wish there was more conversation about how to care for the cows (feeding, milking, lodging...). I feel they could have used a farm hands person to answer questions and show people the proper way to do things (like picking up the chickens and rooster, and more details about milking the cows). The fresh fruit and hot chocolate were great additions to our breakfast.
5 on April 07, 2013
Everything about our stay was wonderful. I'd highly recommend it to those with younger children as it really gives a "farm experience" to those of us who have never been on a farm. The family is terrific and helpful.
5 on April 07, 2013
All in all one of the best organised B&B we have been in. Yhe people especially made the place. Free access to all the faem annimals. Ver, very good.

Our family stay 3 days at Rocky Acre Farm over Spring Break. The Breakfasts were the best with more than we could eat. Great service and experience for our kids.
5 on April 03, 2013
I had a great time during my recent stay. The hosts were very friendly and the breakfast was one of the best I've ever had. The B&B and my room (Fireplace Room) in particular were lovely. Though I didn't spend much time on the farm itself due to other obligations, it seems like a great place for the whole family to enjoy.
5 on April 01, 2013
We stayed for three nights and two and half days at Rock Acre Farms. I picked the farm based on good reviews, so I felt I should add our own review to the mix. We have a range of ages with our three kids (almost 2, 6, 11) and it can be hard to find activities that suit everyone. Rocky Acres had something for everyone. Our youngest fell in love with the pony, Cookie and loved the hayrides, tractor rides, kitty cats, baby goats and baby lamb. She was in heaven. Our older kids loved the pack of kids that were there with their families, playing basketball, the hay rides, tractor rides, bonfire, bikes and just generally being on the farm. Collecting eggs from the hen house was a highlight for each of them, and watching the milking was fascinating. Our accomodations in the guesthouse were clean, well kept and comfortable. The breakfast was amazing, and the staff is very helpful and kind. We especially appreciated Nancy, who was managing most things while the owners were on vacation, and Jason, who organized the kids' activites in the mornings (pony ride, tractor rides, hayride). Very polite, very good with the kids. We really look forward to when we will be able to return. We also found lots of things to do in the surrounding area so much so that there were things we didn't get to that we will try next time. I almost hate to write this review as I don't want it to become even harder to book a vacation there, but really they deserve recognition for providing a warm family atmosphere and generous hospitality.

This was an amazing experience for my whole family!! The accommodations were amazing and comfortable. The activities were more than expected and the breakfast? Well... I have never seen a breakfast like this before! It was large and delicious! Good enough for my teen to not miss it once! lol I would highly recommend this B&B. We are planning our return visit for sometime next year! (We are 9 hours away from this location) Thanks Rocky Acre Farm for the fantastic memories!

This is our 4th time returning to Rocky Acres. The rooms are getting renivated and are so cozy and inviting. Our room was the latest to get updated (The Efficiency). It is clean and welcoming. I have a fetish with hotel rooms and get wigged out. Not at Rocky Acrea. Super clean. The food is amazing. Eileen is a wonderful cook and like to fill you up till you are stuffed. My kids are in high school and they love returning each year. The Benner's know the area like the back of their hand and they give us suggestions on what to do and where to go around town. If you have small children there are bikes, wagons, balls, get eggs from the hens, hay rides, and a many many more things to keep kids happy and busy. I highly recommend Rocky Acres to anyone. It's the place to be.

We have stayed at Rocky Acre Farm Bed and Breakfast several times. Our 9 year old son calls it the Kitten Farm because he loves the ever-present collection of cats and kittens. The hospitality at Rocky Acre is outstanding, and it is great to be on a working dairy farm. We watched a calf being born on our last stay - what a rare gift for suburbanites! Rocky Acre is a great place to build family memories.

We just returned from our stay with our 2 small children, ages 3 years and 6 months. This is a lovely home set in a great location. We stayed in the Farmer's Suite which was nice and cozy for the four of us. The homemade breakfasts were wonderful! My 3 year old loved all the activities for the kids, especially the hay ride and pony ride. It really was a nice experience for a family getaway. The only drawback I found was that when we arrived we were not made to feel all that welcome by the owners. In fact, we didn't even meet them until the following morning at breakfast. Also, even though my daughter enjoyed playing with all of the cats, I was a little put off by the droppings left all over the kid's playhouse. Overall, we had a wonderful time and plan on returning in the future.

We just got back from our Farm Stay earlier this week. I knew it would be fun, but it exceeded my expectations! Our room and the whole house was extremely clean. The homemade breakfast in the morning was wonderful, we felt like we were part of the family. Don't even get me started on the animals!!! We loved them all. My 20 month old daughter was even able to interact with them, which was fun to see. When I look back at the pictures, I really long to go back and experience it all again. The atmosphere is extremely family and kid friendly - they even have all kinds of toys to play with outside. Our girls had permanent smiles on their faces :). I highly recommend this bed and breakfast!!!

Rocky Acre was fun and entertaining for the whole family. We were able to gather eggs from the chickens, feed the goats, ride the pony, feed the calves and enjoy a hayride. The home is well maintained and the farmers breakfast was awesome - a real feast. We will definately be back!

The room was wonderful and the people were very friendly and hospitable! We enjoyed the beautiful setting and the delicious feast for breakfast! It was a nice get-away and we would recommend it to anyone.

Rocky Acre Farm has everything you need for the perfect mini-vacation with your family. B&B is always full of kids who quickly become friends while their parents watch them sipping glass of wine. You get to milk cows, get eggs in the chicken coop, feed the pony, sheep and goats or just ride bicycles. Also, there are various activities like hayrides, pony rides, golf carts. You can spend the whole day at the farm or go visit nearby Amish villages. We will definitely be back soon.

If you are looking for a beautiful place where to spend a couple of days in tranquillity with your family, Rocky Acre is it. Set on beautiful grounds, this lovely B&B offers great activities for children. My daughter decided to celebrate her 12th birthday there and brought her two best friends with her. Favorite activities was bottlefeeding the baby calves and looking for fresh eggs in the early morning. The owners are just fabulous, so very friendly and accommodating.... and their breakfast is the best, never seen so much delicious choices.

We had a lovely stay here. The best parts were the lovely atmosphere and the wonderful, hearty, delicous breakfast. There were so many fun things for children, even toddlers. It was also enlightening to see a working dairy farm in operation, something that could be educational for older kids. I would definitely recommend this for families with children. If we had to change anything, we'd plan to stay the whole time on or near the farm and not even bother with venturing out to the tourist side of Lancaster.

Lovely setting, room, and hospitality! Convenient location for Amish country, Lancaster, Strasburg, and Hershey. The traditional breakfast/feast starts the morning activities and surprises that just keep coming. Fantastic opportunities for families with children of all ages. We met families that have returned for over a decade. We will definately be back!

We were only able to book one nite because this place is so popular -- we all loved it - kids 6 and 8 years old can't wait to go back.

As always we have a wonderful 4 night stay at Rocky Acre. Sumptumous breakfasts, tractor rides, pony rides, hay rides and picking up eggs from the hen house my children ages 2 and 5 were in delight every day. So close to Dutch, Hershey and Cherry Crest Farms this is a perfect location for our annual summer vacation. From staff to guests every one bears smiles every morning. People are open to conversation and helpful with ideas for dinner dining and shopping. Our 4th return and will continue to be an annual destination stop for our family.
5 on August 12, 2012
This was our 4th visit to Rocky Acre. My oldest is 17 so I wanted to squeeze in one more farm stay before she heads off to college. This time we stayed in the guest house which was perfect, as our 3 children are 11, 16 and 17 and we were beginning to outgrow the main house, plus they liked having a bit more privacy and the ability to come and go (quick hike through the woods connects the properties). We simply love everything about Rocky Acre, from the graciousness of our hosts to the bountiful breakfasts, golf cart rides, kittens, and proximity to Hershey. We are a typical suburban family, but my kids never miss TV or the computer when we are here--there's actually a TV in the guesthouse but we didn't even use it. We first visited about 8 years ago and not a thing has changed, not even the farmer's card tricks at breakfast every morning. As we drove away my husband commented that maybe we'll come back with grandchildren one day . . . .it's that kind of place.

Great family destination for a true to life experience on a working dairy farm. Unplug and enjoy the simple things in life like front porch sitting while holding a purring kitten.

What a wonderful surprise of a B & B with apparently a very large following of devoted return customers. A very special place.

I really hesitate writing a review - I don't want anyone else to find this place, and keep me from getting a reservation the next time. A delightful family B&B - kids rule here. The rooms have multiple beds to fit parents and kids. There are pony rides, rides in an adorable "tractor", a nice long hay ride through the neighborhood farms, a swing set, playhouse, bikes, wagons and other riding toys, a petting farm with goats, sheep and a pony. There is a golf cart families can take out to tool around the farm. A hen house and lots of baskets for the kids to take to collect the eggs. If you get up early enough you can help feed the new born calves, stay up until 9pm and assist with the evening milking. Prime ages for kids to visit Rocky Acre fall between 2-10, any younger and they won't get anything out of it. Any older and they may be too cool. Older kids are given extra privileges and are made to feel important. The breakfast was INCREDIBLE. Mrs. Benner and her daughters (and granddaughter) put out a spread at 8:15am to feed an army. I think I counted at least 10 dishes every morning. Go - if you can get a reservation.

My husband and I stayed at Rocky Acre B&B while on a trip with our twelve-year-old granddaughter. We have stayed in many B&Bs, but this was our granddaughter's first experience. Since she lives in a city, she was enchanted by the real working dairy farm! She loved feeding the baby calves, and she enjoyed all the activities with the other young guests. We all loved getting to know the Benner family and eating the sumptious breakfasts! We will definitely recommend Rocky Acre to our Texas and Oklahoma friends!

This is the most amazing experience that a city person can ever have. We watched two calves born. My son saw a hen lay an egg. He loved driving the golf car (with my foot ready for the break). My son had the most fun of his young life especially since he had the freedom to explore. I was able to enjoy relaxation and an amazing (I mean amazing) breakfast each morning. I will now make sure to book a vacation there at least once a year.

My daughter & family plan to spend several days at this B & B in a few weeks. We were traveling through PA on our way to another destination, so we stayed at the farm B & B, just to see what our grandchildren would be seeing. They are going to have a great time.

5 on May 24, 2012
All around great farm bed and breakfast. We have two boys (8 and 6) who love to stay there and we literally do nothing for a full day except watch them fish, take hay and tractor rides, ride the pony, and play with other kids. This was our third trip to the farm and we have already reserved for next year. Also, it is a great staging area for day trips to Hershey Park and Dutch Wonderland. That says it all.

We had a great time at Rocky Acre! Our 22 month old son loved the animals and the tractor/4 wheeler/golf cart/pony rides. The property was very well kept, our room was very clean and bright and the breakfasts were fantastic. I would highly recommend Rocky Acre!! Thank you!!

I took my two children 3 & 4...they absolutely loved it....they fed a baby lamb with a bottle, milked cows, rode the pony, played with a baby goat, collected eggs from the chickens, and Mr. Benner took them on fun rides around the farm. We will go again!

Convenient location with much to do in nearby Lancaster. A simple and constant delight for small children (under 10). Our kids were constantly on the go from breakfast to bedtime. Half the value of the stay were the others who stayed as well and who provided interesting stories of how they came to the farm and why they keep coming back.

My family loved every minute of our visit in July. I had no idea there would be so much to do; we will stay for three nights next time. My kids, 7 and 5, loved sleeping in a loft bed. They gathered eggs, milked a cow, rode the bikes and scooters and tractors. We all went for a hay ride past beautiful farms and fields and through a covered bridge. The kids rode a pony and an adorable train made out of 55-gallon drums. (Okay, I admit I rode it, too.) My son rode up front on the four-wheeler with other kids, surrounding the farmer, who obviously enjoys the children. Row boat, tire swing, playset, porch swings and a charming play house made us feel like it must have been a great place to raise children. My daughter fell in love with the many kittens, and we met some wonderful families. The breakfast was fabulous -- both the food and the sense of community. We plan to become one of the many families who return year after year.

We've been going to Rocky Acre, annually, for several years now, often more than once a year. That in and of itself should say a lot. It is an excellent place to relax and unwind from the daily "rat race". Seem to meet really nice families each time we go. If you leave the breakfast hungry it's you own fault, but I don't think that has ever happened.
5 on August 01, 2011
It was our first visit to Rocky Acre and we had a great time. We have two children-a 13 year old daughter and 10 year old son, and I was a little concerend that the teenager might not appreciate the experience...I was wrong! Both kids loved the farm-all of the critters, especially the kittens, they loved exploring in the golf cart, the stream w/ boats, the bikes, balls....there was a lot for them to do. We loved our room, the Founders Suite was was just beautiful-clean and spacious. The breakfast was absolutely delicious with such a huge amount of homemade food that kept coming!! After breakfast Galen gave us a wonderful hayride thru two counties and covered bridges. Galen has the patience of a saint-it was extremely hot and after the hayride my son wanted an ATV ride, Galen was happy to give ATV rides! The farm was a wonderful and relaxing, yet fun getaway for all ages!
5 on August 01, 2011
You get to ride golf carts even if your a kid. There's big, really good Amish type breakfasts. You get to help around the farm doing chores such has feeding the calves, milking the cows, feeding the goat, and collecting chicken eggs. There are really nice people, cats and sometimes adorable little kittens.

Our family of four (children 7 and 8) stayed 2 nights at Rocky Acre. Not much had changed since I stayed there as a child 25 years ago. This is a good thing! My children enjoyed the same opportunities to play with the animals, learn about dairy farming and eat the wonderful breakfast as I had. There is an open and welcoming environment that makes you feel at home. Mr. Benner is a pleasant and engaging man who clearly enjoys his job and interacting with children. A very enjoyable stay! Thank you.

Exceedingly kid friendly. Breakfast was incredible every day, and they made a real effort to accomodate our dietary needs. Everyone we met, from staff to guests, was happy and friendly. Quiet location, but close to many attractions. We would gladly return. Some of the other guests were there on their 4th, 6th, or even 8th visit.

We just returned from an 8 day adventure through PA. Rocky Acre Farm was by far, the highlight of the trip. There was plenty for our four kids (aged 2-9) to do. Play with kittens, explore the stream, go on a hayride, ride a pony, feed baby calves, I could go on and on. The house was wonderful, room was clean and well appointed. The Innkeepers and staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was unbelievable. We will definitely be returning to Rocky Acre Farm.
5 on July 07, 2011
Started staying there when my daughter was an infant and have been going back ever since. Worth going just for the family owners (the Benners and their progeny) and breakfast, but the tractor ride, hay ride, pony ride, cow milking and chance to see a calf being born are additional reasons to stay.
5 on July 07, 2011
We had visited the farm a few times when our 5 children were small and we all loved it. Recently, they asked if we could all go back for a family get-a-way. My husband and I were nervous wondering if the magic would still be there for our kids now that they are older (11,13,15,17,19). Well, we shouldn't have worried - we all had a blast! Although our kids no longer played in the "doll house" there were so many other activities that we all enjoyed (driving the golf cart, the creek, the delicious breakfast, etc) Thank you to the Benners for giving our family a beautiful setting where we could reconnect as a family.

Rocky Acre is a wonderful family retreat! We went sight seeing while there and the kids consisently asked "When are we going back to the farm?" There was so much to do on the property. The owners truly opened their wonderful home for us to visit. The girl's favorites: kittens in the play house, bottle feeding baby cows, and collecting eggs for breakfast. Parent favorites: golf cart, kayak in the stream, ATV ride, hayride through the counrty, and visiting with other wonderful families during our stay. We love Rocky Acre!

My wife, two grandchildren and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The accomodations were quite nice and 'homey' and the hosts warm and very hospitable. We really enjoyed the farm..gathering eggs, helping milk cows, etc. This was a wonderful respite from our urban life!

We stayed here and drove up to Sesame Place. The best vacation we hve ever had as it was perfectly well-rounded with farm relaxation and tourist opportunities throughout Lancaster area and surrounding. The Brenner's were very friendly and we were blown away by the AWESOME breakfast. I went to bed every night looking forward to not cooking but enjoying a home-style breakfast packed with everything your family could possibly want to eat. We are a family with a sever peanut-allergy and were completely comfortable with the food.

We have a seven year old son, who absolutely LOVES Rocky Acre Farm. At the top of his list: driving the golf cart and playing with the kittens. There are plenty of activities to keep him happy all day on the property, and many options for side trips. Mom and Dad love it too - great breakfast, a chance to relax in a farm setting, and very comfortable accommodations. We enjoyed getting to know the other guests, but you could easily stay private if you like.
5 on June 23, 2011
We love love love this farm. The kids have so much fun and the breakfast is one of the best we have had. The hospitality is over the top. We are moving due to the military, but if we were not moving, we would go back again and again.

We have visited Rocky Acre twice, and it seems most people staying there are repeat customers. This is truly a special place to relax and create beautiful memories for your children...milking a cow, bottle-feeding a 3-hour-old calf, collecting fresh eggs from the hens, kayaking down a picturesque creek, taking a hayride through the farms of Lancaster, etc. The biggest draw for the kids, and most moms, is playing with the numerous sweet kittens roaming the farm. The bountiful breakfast is incredibly fresh and delicious, and I know we'll be back next summer for more memories.

The best place to go for a weekend or a vacation . The Benner Family knows hospitality ! The rooms are great, breakfast is terrific and the kids love the rides, the kittens, the chickens and the cows. Nothing can compare to a weekend at Rocky Acres

We just stayed for one night but we had a wonderful time! We will definitely go back! It is all very simple country fun. The kids got to do all the little things, gather chicken eggs, milk the cows, bottle feed the baby calves etc. They loved the little pony ride, the John Deer "train" ride, riding the bicycles and playing in the little play house. The whole family enjoyed the hay ride through the country side. It was very nice visiting with other families, there are tables and chairs outside where you can sit and watch the children play. The breakfast meal did not disappoint! As we were leaving we saw the owner, and our 5 year old son told her (without any prompting): "On a scale or 1-10, with 10 being the highest, I would rate this place a 10!"

Make yourself at home was the feel we got there. All the guests sit outside on the porch talking while our kids play together. After the amazing breakfast they serve us, the owner has hay rides, pony rides, and tractor and ATV rides. We gathered eggs from the chicken coop each morning. We got to milk the cows. The kids LOVED the farm life. Down the road is a meadow with a river to fish or go boating. There's a tire swing which the kids loved. There's also a fire pit to make smores. We loved this place and will definately return!

The room we stayed in (Hideaway) was very clean with great linens, etc. Tons of places to sleep and the bathroom was super nice! I have to say I loved my stay here..breakfast was excellent, homemade! The Benner's were awesome people to spend time with, Christians, and it shows! How nice to be able to trust people with my kids. We felt like family the moment we met them. The kids thoroughly enjoyed the farm, and Mr Benner treated them like grandkids. He took them on tractors, 4-wheelers, golf carts. He showed them where to collect eggs, and feed baby calves, and milk many cows. My kids loved him. They were sad to go, and are already begging me to make reservations for next year, seeing as how they are booked this summer! We miss Rocky Acres already! :)))) Cant wait to go back!

The farm was lovely. Breakfast was indulgent and plentiful. There were just a couple of things to note; there was no one from the B&B to check us in when we arrived, not a big deal if you don't mind making yourself at home. They provide a binder in each room with detailed directions and instructions to "farm life." There is no way to secure the items in your room, ie, no keys to the different rooms. The owner has very strong opinions about many topics, if you are looking for a demure hostess or someone to have an exchange of ideas with, you will be disappointed.
5 on May 10, 2011
What's not to like? The proprietors are warm and inviting and love to feed their guests tons of great tasting food! We stayed at the guest house and had an absolutely restful (for us) and exciting (for the kids) time. Lots of room to run and play -- a kid's dream come true. The animals are also entertaining with quirky personalities that endeared them to our family. We look forward to our return visit in the autumn. - Cheryl Henderson-Khalid

We had a wonderful time, but the staff were not easily available. No one was there when we got there and we werent even sure where to go. We actually never met the owners until breakfast the next morning. So, my only complaint is that. We were pretty much, on our own. Nothing was explained to us and we didn't know where the creek or anything was until another guest told us the third day we were there.

The kids had a wonderful time, as did my husband and I. They collected eggs from the hen house, watched the cows getting milked, bottle fed a calf, fed the breakfast leftovers to the cats, pony and goat, went on pony rides, a "train" ride, and a hay ride. Breakfasts were delicious, and huge. Be warned that you probably won't want any lunch. Follow the back-roads tours suggested by the staff and you will get a great tour through the heart of Amish country. We look forward to going back again soon.

We wanted to see in Lancaster and found this B&B online. It was beyond my wildest expectations. My 2-year-old son loved every minute of staying there. So did I. We loved it. We woke up the next morning to a giant home cooked breakfast with all the other guests. We will be back. It was one of the highlights to our stay in Lancaster. Everyone was nice. It was a little pricy but the room we had was huge. Worth the money 100% A lot of B&B don't accept kids. Here they embrace them. My son loved the tractor ride and I got to go with him

Rocky Acre is a wonderful place to take your children, or anyone who likes a farm. This was our second time going and we took my parents this time. We all loved the homey feeling of being there, and the activities that you can do. The breakfast is awesome, better than any restaurant I've ever been too! The rooms we've stayed in are very clean, there are "lived in" parts of the house that are a little messy but I guess that comes with being on a farm. We would definitely recommend Rocky Acre, and will prob go back again sometime.

This was our second visit. The Efficiency room was perfect for a family of 4. Our kids (14 & 13) enjoyed canoeing in the river, tire swing, evening bon fire, golf cart rides from here to there and so much more. We have been present for the birthing of a calf and got a chance to milk a cow. The breakfast was awesome and we all left the table stuffed. From the house we traveled a short distance to eat dinner. During the day we went antiquing, found covered bridges, shopped at the many outlet malls and enjoyed shopping in Bird-in-Hand (Amish shops). Highly recommend Rocky Acres!!

Each one from age 3 to age 10 had a great time and the only time there were sad faces was when we told them it was time to leave. Will recomend this place to all of my family and friends young and old.

We found the Rocky Acre farm 9 years ago when our children were 4 and 7 years old. It fast became a family favorite get away spot. We have always loved the Lancaster area for exploring, shopping and eating and adding Rocky Acre to the experience just put it over the top. Our son cried all the way home after our first trip. He didn't want to leave. He is now 16 and still loves 'going to the farm'. He has since graduated from pony rides and homemade train rides to driving the golf cart on his own and has a ball doing it. My daughter and I had the wonderfully unique experience of feeding a baby bull calf, newly born. We had this opportunity on our last two visits and my daughter talks about it often. I can't say enough about Mr. and Mrs. Benner. They are wonderful hosts that make you feel like you've just come home from a long stay away. The morning breakfast is out of this world delicious and very plentiful. Mrs. Benner takes great pride in feeding you well. It is always so much fun sitting around the dining room table with the other house guests and seeing where everyone is from. It never seems to matter where they're from, what their family status is or what their religious beliefs are. When you're there you are all one big family praying around the breakfast table for each other and giving thanks for this special experience. In a time where families are busy running in many directions keeping up with everyone's activities, a stay at Rocky Acre Farm is the perfect way to slow down, reconnect and spend some real quality time together. Thank you Benner Family for providing this wonderful opportunity.

We returned for a family farm stay at Rocky Acres Farm Bed and Breakfast last weekend and the warm welcome and well-planned family activities far exceeded our expectations. Rooms were spacious and clean, breakfast was delicious and bountiful and the activities, from collecting farm-fresh eggs in the chicken coop to a hayride to kayaking, made it a perfect family weekend getaway. We can't wait to return. All vacations should be this perfect!

Fabulous place to stay! Our 2 year old loved it and didn't want to leave. From the time we ate a delicious breakfast (pancakes, fresh eggs, turkey bacon, fruit, custard, oatmeal & more), we were busy on the farm. There were pony rides, a "train" ride behind a tractor, a 30 minute hayride, four-wheeler rides, and more. It was so much fun and the Benner's were great hosts.

My children and I stayed at Rocky Acre Farm for one night. We wished we had more time there. The farm was so much fun. The kids had a blast playing with the kittens, milking the cows, feeding the newborn calfs, and collecting the eggs for breakfast. We had to drag them away. They both said that it was the highlight of their trip to Pennsylvania. The food was wonderful! The only complaint we had was there was some sort of bugs crawling around the ceiling in our room. Perhaps coming in from the cold weather outside. Otherwise the room was immaculate and we all enjoyed the fireplace. The beds were very comfortable. We look forward to returning soon.
Thank you for visiting with us at Rocky Acre. We are glad you were able to experience the farm life and enjoy the farmers breakfast. We apologize for the "stinkbugs" on the ceiling. The Lancaster area had been bombarded with them and we were trying to do our best to eliminate them. We are thankful they have gone and appreciate your enthusiasm to visit with us again.

We stayed in the Century Room, which was small but clean and nicely arranged and offered a very cool amenity: a loft bed up in the rafters! Our 3yo was a bit young to want to sleep up there, but in a year or two I can see her refusing to get down. Breakfast was really, really good. After breakfast, the activities began... and I think it ruined vacations for my daughter for life! That night we got out of the car at our motel the next night, she looked around and said "Where are all the kids? Where's the pony?" Most of the guests at Rocky Acres had young children, and the activity experience is definitely geared towards the young and the young at heart. Pony rides on a miniature pony, a ride around the farm in a "train" made of barrels, a hayride, milking cows, collecting eggs. And the oodles of cats and kittens happy to be pet and played with! I have a 3yo and an 18mo and they both had an absolute blast. There were two slightly older girls (tween/young teen?) and they were having a great time too... I definitely don't mean to imply that this is a toddler-only trip. The owners were very friendly and very much made us feel at home. Even after we checked out they let us borrow one of the golf carts and drive down to the creek, where they have some boats and a tire swing and it was very peaceful and nice. This was a great find and I already can't wait to go back. It's very telling that we were the only guests who were staying there for the first time: every other family was a repeat visitor who made the trip at least annually. What a great tradition. (A note: this IS a working dairy farm. If you're not into dirt, animals, cats, cows, or normal farming practices you might want to skip this place. Inside the inn is very clean, but if you're not going to enjoy the farm activities then there isn't much point to staying there)

Eileen and Galen are the BEST Hosts! They welcome you to the B&B as if it were your own home! Eileen and her staff prepare the most hearty delicious breakfast you ever had! Galen is wonderful with all the kids, he takes them on pony and tractor rides always with a smile! Prepare to meet wonderful people and relax in the beautiful countryside. We go there twice a year. Have been going for the past six years. My oldest is now 17 and still looks forward to going!! God Bless the Benners

So excited to finally bring my children to a Bed & Breakfast where they are clearly welcome! The innkeepers are fabulous with kids and go out of their way make each one of them feel special. The breakfast is huge and tastes fantastic. Great family get away at an affordable price. We've gone back every year since we first discovered Rocky Acres and plan on continuing..
