Beverly was very helpful and informative regarding places of interest

We stayed while there was renovation being done. Absolutely every effort was made so that this did not negatively impact our stay. Beverly greeted us, gave us a tour and then took us to our suite. Mrs. Sheppard had quite the comfy boudoir and the updates have only added to the comfort factor. After a long day hiking Gettysburg Battlefield we were ready to relax. Laying back on the bed was like laying on a cloud - and the pillows? A perfect match of soft and support. My old bones appreciated the deep soaking tub and lovely toiletries. A great sleep followed by a trio of delicious breakfasts created by Beverly provided gastronomic delight as well as the energy for more hiking. We will be returning as soon as scheduling permits. I personally recommend a visit to the Carriage house for the ladies - you will not be sorry!

A great memory was created for us by staying there. In true Mansion.

We loved the space offered to us in our room/ suite as well as our being able to use the parlor for our wine before dinner. Great attention was paid to all the details for a great stay.

This place is amazing. I'm a native of Hanover, and I've always wanted to see the inside of this house. Not only is the building itself absolutely gorgeous (and most of the furnishings are original), the service was spectacular. The innkeeper, Beverly, is friendly, pleasant, and an absolute delight. Plus, the gourmet breakfast she provides for the guests is one of the best meals I've ever had! I cannot recommend this place highly enough. It's comfortable, clean, beautiful, and the service is top-notch. Worth absolutely every penny!

This B & B really transported us to another era. I kept expecting the butler to greet us whenever we returned from an outing. I was plesantly surpirsed at how quiet it was as the mansion sits on a main road. The breakfast far exceeded our expectations. We we expecting a simple egg or pancake dish and were awed by the level of the meal served. And the innkeeper was very friendly and helpful. We would recommend this place to anyone who wants to experience living in the elegance of another time.

Originally, my husband and I had planned to only spend one night at the Sheppard Mansion. But after meeting the staff who were so helpful and kind, and tasting the wonderful dishes prepared by the chef and other staff, we both fell in love with the mansion. The warmth, beauty and comfort of the Mansion was breathtaking and we had succumbed to it's spell. Both my husband and I spent an additional two nights at this magnifiscent home that felt like home. We plan to return in the future. Many thanks to the staff at Sheppard Mansion. -- Ted & Juliet H.

We had a very nice stay at the Sheppard Mansion, the dinner was wonderful and the new carriage market shop had a lot of nice foods and housewares. We requested a different room after the first night due to the "Horsehair" mattress in our original room, some people love it, we did not. Everything else was fantastic, including the breakfast in the morning. We would stay again.

Hanover is a quaint little town; the Mansion is breathtaking. I recommend this place to anyone who just needs a change of venue, or for the Civil War buffs. It rained for a good part of the weekend my husband and I were there; but there happened to be no other guests that weekend, so we were free to explore the place. The portraiture, the books, the artifacts were all very interesting.

We had a great experience and appreciated our morning conversations with the Proprietor. We definitely appreciated all she did for us to make our stay very enjoyable. We will definitely be back!

Our room was very spacious and had a nice bathroom. Breakfast the next morning was excellent. The highlight of our visit was dinner at the restaurant which we both agreed was one of the best meals we have experienced. The chef uses fresh local ingredients in unusual but outstanding combinations. Every one we encountered provided outstanding service. We would go back.

Although we only dined at the Mansion, the owner and her staff made our Anniversary one of the most memorable in our 35 years of marriage. Making special arrangements was no issue to them, and they all worked hard to impress us. The ambiance and food are second to none. We've traveled this country and dined in many fine dining establishments, but they all pale in comparison to the Sheppard Mansion. I will never be able to thank them enough, except to say, "We WILL be back".

This place is unbelievable. We live nearby, but came for a weekend away from everything. From the moment we entered the magnificent doors, through a tasting menu in the dining room, and a delicious breakfast the next morning, everything was perfect! No detail was overlooked, including proper table settings, wine service, and beds that were more comfortable than my own! We'll be back for certain, and can't wait to tell everyone we know. It's the best kept secret around! And for a few dollars more than another chain hotel OR your average lacey-doiley B and B, you get a totally unique experience that we haven't had since our last trip to Europe. Just amazing!
