We recently stayed at the Brafferton B&B in Gettysburg and were beyond delighted with the room, the outstanding customer service & the BEST breakfast ever! The owners were extremely personable and went out of their way to provide a warm welcome & the very best hospitality during our stay. Highly recommended!!!

Location is excellent. Room was OK - had drain problem in shower and leaky faucet in Jacuzzi. Breakfast was very good with choices.

We stayed at the Brafferton twice. We stayed in the Deck Suite this time and found the accommodations perfect. At night, my husband could relax in bed while watching television and I could shut the door and sit in the adjoining room at the desk to do some work. In the morning, we could go outside and sit on the deck and enjoy the quiet. The hosts are very welcoming and informative when asked about area restaurants. The breakfasts are fabulous and served by a gracious and friendly wait staff. I love the location of this B&B, which allowed us to walk to the shops in town. Be assured we will be returning.

The building and grounds were gorgeous. Everything was walking distance. I definitely recommend.

Spent one night here and found it to be a great downtown location in a very historic building. Service was tops, beginning with our first greeting.

We had an adjoining suite w/my sister and her husband. Both suites were very roomy, clean and beautifully decorated. The owner and his mom are very friendly and turns out, we're all from the same small town in north Jersey. Breakfast was delicious and his mom makes the best muffins ever!

Wonderful first visit to Gettysburg! We loved the Brafferton Inn-so warm and welcoming. Fabulous breakfast, the best blueberry pancakes and apple muffins we've ever had! We can't wait to go back :)

This B&B was clean, the staff were friendly, and it is conveniently located! We have already booked another stay for 2018.

We stayed at the Brafferton Inn for three days while visiting Gettysburg. It is a very old building but is well maintained and our suite was clean. The breakfast here was excellent. We looked forward to coming down for breakfast everyday. The Inn also has its own parking lot about a half a block from the Inn. That was very convenient since parking can be tricky in town sometimes and the street meters are checked twelve hours a day. The Innkeepers were accommodating and we had a very nice stay there. I would definitely recommend it to others.

We stayed at the Brafferton Inn for three nights while visiting Gettysburg. The Inn has their own parking lot about a half a block away that is easy to get in and out of and they didn't charge extra for parking. That was a big plus since parking can be tricky in Gettysburg during certain times and the meters are checked 12 hours a day. The Innkeepers were very accommodating and our room was spacious and clean (we had a sitting area, bedroom and deck). The Inn is located in the heart of Gettysburg and was within walking distance of several shops and restaurants. The breakfast was excellent. We really looked forward to coming down for breakfast there and had breakfast on the lower deck by the garden on our last day there. I would definitely reccomend this Inn if you visit Gettysburg.

The Brafferton Inn was top notch! What a great place to stay in a historical town. The people were very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was one of the best we have had at a B&B as well. Highly recommend experiencing this piece of history.

We booked the Brafferton Inn while on the way to Gettysburg. We booked the Lincoln Bedroom - actually two rooms - room for sleeping, room for relaxing! Location is excellent - one block from downtown square. Parking is less than a block away, easy walk. Breakfast had several wonderful choices with freshly baked item as the keystone! We will stay here again! Owners provided wonderful welcome and are always onsite.

A great B&B. It you want to see Gettysburg it is a really convenient place. People were really nice, rooms clean, and the breakfast was outstanding. Will definitely be going back to try out the other rooms. Only issue was that our suite did not have wifi. You had to go into the lobby area.

We were very impressed with the warm welcome we received at the Inn. The Inn is lovely. Our stay was enhanced by learning about the Inns connection to Gettysburg's history. The breakfast was delicious and they are sensitive to special diets like gluten free. I regret not staying here sooner.

My fiancée and I recently stayed in the Deck Suite for a weekend getaway. The room was very clean and welcoming. It honestly felt like we were at home. The owners of the place were extremely nice as well as the rest of the staff. Breakfast was delicious. I had the crab scramble the first morning and was possibly the best breakfast I've ever had. My fiancée had the raspberry French toast and she loved it. The Brafferton is in a great location in downtown Gettysburg, within walking distance of many great places to eat and shop. I highly recommend.

Hospitality plus!!! Our room was clean, tidy and perfect in every way. Great location as well! Thank you Brafferton staff!
5 on August 15, 2017
Our second stay at the Brafferton inn and it always exceeds our expectations. We stayed in the Brafferton Suite which was very private. It does face a busy road (York St) but earplugs were on our nightstands when we arrived, so we slept like babies! breakfast is always yummy and the staff is super friendly and helpful!
5 on August 15, 2017
The authenticity of the Inn was rivaled only by the welcoming of the staff at the Brafferton. We opted to add the Wine and Cheese package at the last minute and they were more than happy to oblige. We are already planning our next trip to Gettysburg and will absolutely be staying here again. Looking forward to it!

This Inn is located right off Lincoln Square. Everything you need is within walking distance - restaurants, shopping, etc. We found it through Inns of the Gettysburg Area website, which provides a list of exclusive Gettysburg Inns that provide breakfast and “elegant, comfortable lodgings.” When we arrived, we were greeted with smiling faces. Joan & Ashley were happy to see us, gave us a quick tour of the Inn & grounds, then showed us to our room. This historical B&B is made up of 3 homes (see more details on rooms and inn on their website). We stayed in the original home in the “Michael Hoke” - an interesting room because the bedroom is in the original 1786 Stone house and the attached bathroom is in the 1843 add-on" home. All beds have firm mattresses, ornate head/foot boards, are elevated, and have period-relevant quilts and furnishings. The mattress was quite firm and we had extra pillows which were softer. The rooms were comfortable and quaint. We were very pleased with our accommodations. You truly are stepping back in time here, because a refreshing and unique feature of the Brafferton is NO TV’s! Yes, there is WiFi, so don’t panic. :) You also won’t find microwaves or mini fridges. There’s a parlor just inside the front door, an atrium seating area, and the garden for sitting and relaxing. There is a private parking lot located around the corner on Stratton Street. You can choose what time you want breakfast and on sunny mornings they offer outdoor seating on the back deck. Before eating, we’d take our morning caffeine out front to sit on the bench and watch the traffic go by. You start off the meal with fresh fruit and a homemade muffin. The muffins are to die for! After this, you have a choice of 4 breakfast entrees - also made fresh that morning. I have an all-nut allergy and they were very accommodating. The servers were all very friendly and efficient. We HIGHLY recommend this Inn.

The Brafferton Inn is a great place to stay in Gettysburg and has its own history. We had a choice of different breakfast items each day and it was hard to choose, since all sounded delicious and they were. The only issue with our room selection was that it was a front room right on the main street and during the week was a little noisy from truck traffic. But the owners did provide ear plugs in the room. The overall experience was outstanding.
5 on August 06, 2017
Our stay was wonderful and we found the suite to be perfect and spacious. Breakfast was wonderful. Only issue was no wifi in the suite. Innkeeper was personable and available when needed. Location was perfect.

This is the oldest house in Gettysburg and makes a most interesting place to stay. The rooms are very nice with up to date modern bathrooms. Nice and quiet. I can not say enough about the inn keepers and how nice they were to me and my wife. The breakfast is excellent and everyone is just so nice and friendly. You will not be disappointed staying here.

While in Gettysburg, we stayed at The Brafferton Inn, in their lovely "Pear Tree Suite", which was perfect for us, an older couple. It is a large beautifully appointed first floor suite, with parking by the private garden. Lovely to come home to, for a rest, after a day of sightseeing, before going out for dinner. Brian the Inn keeper, was most welcoming and helpful. We were served a great breakfast in their Colonial dining room. We highly recommend The Brafferton !

My girlfriend and I had a absolutely perfect stay at the Brafferton Inn. It's a beautiful inn. Brian and the other folks at the Brafferton were extremely helpful. They washed our sheets and towels in fragrance free detergent before our arrival. The breakfasts were amazing and all homemade. Definitely the best B&B breakfasts I have ever had. Our room was perfectly clean and even better than the pictures. From a location standpoint, the Brafferton is on the same block as all the downtown shops and restaurants. Couldn't have been a better location. After seeing all the other B&B's while we were walking around I can confidently say we chose the best one. Book a stay at the Brafferton with confidence, you will love it!

My husband & I spent one day & night in Gettysburg to break up the long drive from Kentucky to NY. Wish we'd had more time at the Brafferton! Absolutely loved the history of the place; the breakfast was amazing; the room (Dorothy's Hideaway) was cozy & the bed was really comfortable. Although the parking was around the corner, it was very convenient & free. We're already planning a trip to go back!

My daughter and I have stayed here at the Braffferton for 11 years, when I call to make reservations and say Annette, they know exactly who I am. They know what we do for a living, remembering from year to year, we feel very welcomed and cared for while we are there....love Brian and Joan!!!!!

The breakfast alone is reason to stay here! The owners give you a walk through and history of the house and are very attentive to all your needs. I accidentally blew a fuse in our room with my blow dryer, but they fixed it right away. My only disappointment was that I had to do my hair and makeup in the bathroom, which I don't like to do because of the humidity in there after showering. There is a mini fridge in the hallway for the second floor rooms, no tv or phone in the room, to some that may be an issue but for us we don't need it as we're out exploring most of the time.

Our stay was wonderful! Only thing that would have been nice was a pair of rails on the walls up the 2 steps to our bathroom! It was a bit hard to navigate the steps with a bad ankle and no rails! Everything else was great!

A beautiful B&B which has so much history attached. The location was perfect, less than one block from the center of Gettysburg. We walked to dinner each night. Brian, Joan, and the rest of the staff were very friendly. Dorothy's Hideaway was a fantastic room. Huge tub and relatively private. It was a bit noisy when the room upstairs had people walking loudly downstairs. Otherwise it was perfect!

This was at least our 3rd stay at The Brafferton. As usual, all aspects of our stay were outstanding. Starting with the courteousness of the Hodges and the entire staff to the outstanding accommodations in the Cordori Suite, our Gettsyburg experience was enhanced by this B and B. We are looking forward to returning there again ASAP.

We have stayed in different rooms and they are all lovely, very clean and comfortable. The breakfasts are scrumptious and satisfying, with four different entree choices. Leave your car in the Brafferton parking lot and walk to nearby shops and restaurants.

From the moment we pulled up to the Brafferton Inn, I knew I made the right choice. Brian greeted us immediately and gave us a tour of our suite, garden, parking area, and dining room along with the interesting history of the Inn. The decor was amazing. The staff was very friendly and helpful. All of the nooks and crannies of the Inn added to the charm. It was extremely clean. Breakfast was delicious and menu choices appreciated. Joan's muffins/puffs were so good, I had to buy the cookbook. Highly recommend! Hope to return/, thanks again! Karen B.

If you are looking for a relaxing comfortable place to stay in Gettysburg, than the Brafferton Inn is the place to be. Right on one of the main streets, this cozy Inn allows you the convince of walking to shops, restaurants/pubs and close to the college. The breakfast selections are different each morning and delicious to the taste buds. My husband and I have stayed here for the past 5 years when looking for a March getaway. The only complaint I would have is when requesting a breakfast blend coffee for our in room coffee maker, as I like to wake up and enjoy a cup in the morning prior to breakfast, the inn could not seem to locate this any breakfast blend. Disappointing since I requested it prior to our visit; otherwise a wonderful time.

The Brafferton Inn is a favorite place to stay when we are visiting Gettysburg. The breakfasts are delish and you get a choice of 4 different entrees each morning. It's fun choosing a room here because they all have different personalities and the lower priced rooms are just as lovely in their own right as the higher priced rooms. We have chosen different rooms each time we stayed here and enjoyed them all. The in-town location of The Brafferton Inn is ideal for us since we like stepping out to the nearby shops and restaurants. We are looking forward to our next stay at The Brafferton Inn. Many thanks to the Hodges Family for their hospitality!

There are not enough superlatives to state how much we love staying at the Brafferton. The rooms, the ambiance, the breakfasts, but mostly the great feeling of welcome engendered by the Hodges. Although our son is no longer a student at Gettysburg College we continue to return to the Brafferton and recommend at the highest level.

My husband and I booked a 2-night stay in the Lincoln Suite at the Brafferton Inn for our 29th wedding anniversary weekend. Upon arrival we were warmly greeted and given a tour of the Inn before being shown to our suite. The Lincoln suite was perfect! We felt very at home with a large sitting room, king size bed , microwave, mini frig and coffee maker and our bathroom had a spa shower. Our breakfasts were scrumptious and the homemade muffins to yummy for words! We were within walking distance to many of the fine shops and restaurants and a short drive to the historic sites. We plan on going back again since we had such a lovely experience and would highly recommend staying at the Brafferton Inn.

We stayed in the Gettys Suite over Parent's Weekend and it was perfect! Brian and the entire staff are very good at their jobs and make you feel very comfortable while at the Brafferton Inn. The breakfast bakery items are outstanding as well as the 5 choices of breakfast each morning. The Gettys Suite was perfect for us as it gave a gathering place for dinner with other family members not staying with us. We also took advantage of the tables/chairs in the garden for some wine/cheese after a long day of walking. The inn and staff are certainly a gem in Gettysburg and my only regret is we did not find this sooner in my daughter's years at Gettysburg College. At least we have our reservations for graduation in May. Thanks to Brian and staff for a wonderful weekend....as my husband put it, you felt like you were in someone's home which is so much better than a hotel.
4.8 on November 06, 2016
During our visits to see our child who attends Gettysburg College, we always try to stay at the Bafferton. We have stayed in the Brafferton Suite which is amazing, but we enjoy the Lincoln Suite the most. Brian is a wonderful host who makes you feel like you are staying in a friends home. He is also a talented cook who crafts the finest breakfasts that I have experienced. Combine the two of those things and you will have an experience to remember and share with your friends. The Brafferton is conveniently located close to all of the major attractions in the town of Gettysburg. You are able to walk throughout the town and up to parts of the battlefield. I highly recommend The Brafferton Inn.

We enjoyed our stay at the Brafferton, renting both the Old Orchard Guest House and additionally a room in the main B&B. The house was a great place to congregate; centrally located near all of the tours and restaurants we were interested in. I highly recommend the Brafferton.

My wife and I stayed there for a weekend to celebrate our first anniversary as a married couple. The owners and staff couldn't have been any nicer. The room was kept clean with a warm setting of the "Gettysburg" atmosphere. I would recommend staying here & would most definitely come back. Thank you for the perfect stay for the prefect weekend. Perfectly located near restaurants and shops in the heart of town. Our suite was big, comfortable, clean and quiet. Liked that we could park our car right behind our patio door. The breakfast was excellent and the owners/staff were very friendly and helpful.

My husband and I stayed at the Brafferton Inn for his 40th birthday. We loved that the building itself had so much history, but was clean and had modern amenities. The staff was pleasant and friendly. The breakfast each morning was delicious and we loved the perk of having five choices of entree. We would absolutely recommend!

Gettysburg is a favorite destination. We go there at least once a year. And we always stay at the Brafferton. Family owned and operated, this B&B is a joy. From the varies breakfast to the great rooms. You can't do better.

This Inn is a collection of adjacent historic buildings in downtown Gettysburg. It is a family run business, and everyone bends over backwards to make your stay comfortable. The room was great, in the older front part of the house. It overlooked the main street, but we did not find it noisy. The room had only one drawback, and that was electrical access. Between us we had two cell phones to charge and a CPAP machine. Accommodating all of those items was difficult, but we managed. The food was great, and they accommodated our food quirks, in spite of cooking for 15 rooms worth of guests.

Historic Building in the heart of Gettysburg. Centrally located to shopping, battlefield, and fine/casual dining. Innkeepers are a wealth of information. Couldn't be happier with this experience.

The Inn is absolutely charming. We loved the history of the Inn. We stayed in the Lincoln Suite. Much bigger than it looked online. Very nice. Nice to have the Keurig in the room. The "spa" shower was very nice. Comfortable bed too. Good breakfast!

This room has a civil war bullet embedded in the mantle. I cannot stress enough how big of a plus that was for me. Also I don't think I have ever in my life had a better breakfast. I would come back just for that. Amazing B&B!!!

We stayed at the Brafferton during a recent weekend trip to Gettysburg and were delighted with our accommodations. The Inn is located a block from the central square, in easy walking distance of many shops and restaurants. The breakfasts were phenomenal- something we awoke looking forward to this morning. They accommodated our dietary restrictions (gluten-free) gladly and with expertise. The breakfast casserole was mouth-watering and the muffins were among the best gluten-free options we've sampled. The only challenge was parking, which we didn't realize wasn't included in our package. There's a municipal garage directly behind the Inn, which is convenient, though there is a $10 daily charge. Will definitely return to the Brafferton in the future!

We come to Gettysburg once or twice a year to visit family and this time chose the Brafferton, frankly because it was one of the only places we could get a last minute room. What good fortune for us! We stayed in the huge and very very comfortable Cadori Suite. The location just off the square is perfect to walk to shops and eaterys and the staff is warm and hospitable. I do indeed recommend the family owned and operated Brafferton Inn. To quote the terminator... I'll be back. Mike W. Chattanooga,TN

The Brafferton Inn is the best B&B we have ever stayed in. From the moment we were greeted by Brian we felt sincerely welcomed . Our suite was outstanding - spacious with quality appointments, quiet, clean, and elegantly decorated. The breakfasts were as advertised! Delicious fresh fruit, fresh-baked pastry, and a choice of four different hot entrees greeted us in the dining room each morning at our choice of serving time. The Inn is also within walking distance of the Gettysburg square; the Inn keepers were always available for directions and recommendations. Plus, the home-made afternoon cookies were a perfect treat!

5 on August 18, 2016
The Brafferton Inn set the bar very high for any future B&B we may visit. They were very welcoming and friendly, made us feel like family. The breakfast was delicious. Every morning we had fresh fruit, fresh baked pastry (my favorite) and choice of three entrees. The location was great. Walking distance from pubs, restaraunts, shops, and more. Our room was AMAZING. It was clean and well kept. The layout and furnishings were spot on. The jacuzzi tub for two was the perfect way to relax and unwind. They had a lovely "Romance Package" that included a gift certificate for a local restaraunt, champagne, and chocolate covered strawberries - the perfect touch for our Anniversary weekend. We can't wait to go back again.

Our stay at the Brafferton Inn was wonderful. We stayed in the Brafferton Suite, which was beautiful and spacious. Our breakfasts were to die for. Brian made the best pastries I have ever eaten! Everyone was very friendly and the place was very clean. I would definitely recommend this place to others. Only issue was the amount of noise from the roadway which I had read about prior to choosing that room. That isn't something the in keepers could do anything about, next time we will choose a room further from the main traffic area. Also, because we stayed in a suite, we received a free private parking spot, which was great!

Enjoyed a mini get away here that was extremely pleasant. Out first time in Gettysburg and Joan and the team were extremely helpful. We felt at home. Brian's breakfast ensembles were amazing and Joan was such a gracious hostess to prepare dairy free pastries and baked goods everyday for my friend travelling with us - they were as awesome as the regular pastries!!! Thank you can't wait to visit again.

By far the best B&B in Gettysburg. Historic rooms, lovely owners, and great breakfast offerings make the Brafferton Inn the only place to stay on your visit to Gettysburg. The staff of Brian, AmyBeth and Joan are so nice and really want your stay to be a pleasant one. The Inn is located half a block from downtown and only minutes away from the National Military Park. I've stayed there several times and it never fails to be a great experience. Tim Watts

I hadn't stayed in a B&B since I lived in Germany many years ago, was always the best vacations and left me with amazing memories. Staying at the Brafferton was top notch!! The rooms were fantastic, clean, comfortable and very well decorated. The breakfast each morning was fresh, home made and just to die for!! The owners were extremely friendly, helpful with any questions we had for them from dinner suggestions or local shops etc.. If you are looking to spend time in Gettysburg forgo the hotels and book your stay at the INN. Thank you for everything you made our stay fantastic!!

I recently traveled to Gettysburg for a conference and stayed at the Brafferton for five nights. The room was clean and quiet. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable, and Brian cooks a fantastic breakfast. (Fruit, a muffin and your choice of 3-4 entrees daily.) Just one tip: some rooms do not have wifi and others do not have tv, so it may be best to phone for a reservation in order to ensure that you get exactly what you're looking for. I enjoyed my stay and would definitely return!

We spent two evenings at The Brafferton on July 15 and 16 while visiting the National Park. We were cordially greeted by Brian on arrival and he promptly showed us around the common area and dining room, giving a brief history of the inn. Cindy showed us to our room (The Pear Tree Suite). The suite was better than I had imagined from viewing the pictures on Brafferton's website. It was more than enough space for two adults. Inside, the kitchenette was well appointed with microwave, under counter fridge and a Keurig brewer. The jacuzzi tub was perfect for relaxing in at the end of the day's walking. While there were some pictures hanging in the suite, there was a lot of wall space not being used. The private patio was great for sitting and relaxing. The trellis provided a small degree of refuge from the sun...my thought was that a grape vine or wisteria would have provided much more shade on the hot afternoons. Breakfast was great! The choices of the main course were delicious and Joan's baked goods were everything I had read on previous reviews. The location in the heart of town could not be better....allowing for short walks to dining and shopping. I highly recommend the Brafferton Inn and would not hesitate to visit again.

The Brafferton is a Gettyburg Gem. My husband and visit Gettysburg often and this was our first stay (hopefully not our last) at the Brafferton. A short walk to the Square, and all of downtown Gettysburg's history, unique shops, galleries and restaurants. The staff at the Inn make you feel welcome and comfortable from the moment you walk in the door. The Inn has great history and clean, quiet, comfortable rooms. Breakfast was truly outstanding - easily one of best breakfasts of any B&B I've visited. Parking is easy in the parking garage located across the alley behind the inn. For convenience and comfort pick the Pear Tree Suite. Modern central air, 2 TVs, mini fridge/microwave, plumbing, and free parking space with privacy (no rooms on 3 sides) super quiet and spacious. Add on History Package for best value so you don't have to wait in line for tickets.

The Brafferton was an unexpected gem for us. We were in Gettysburg with friends and we got connected rooms. When we arrived we discovered that we had an entire floor to ourselves with our own entries. It was very clean, elegant to the time period. A very quiet place to stay with it's own garden in the back. The hot water wasn't always as hot as we like it but that is our only complaint. The breakfasts were always amazing, Gary is a great cook! It was easy access to all the Gettysburg sites and within walking distance to downtown, and they also were able to provide us with packages that included tours, dinning, etc.

The place is very charming. Love the rooms with the whirlpool tubs. Walking distance to everything. When coming to Gettysburg will always stay at the Brafferton Inn

We have stayed at the Brafferton many times, and there are so many reasons to keep going back. This was our first stay in the Pear Tree Suite, which is like a lovely apartment with a kitchenette (microwave oven only.). We especially appreciated the gas fireplace and the extra large whirlpool tub. We were traveling alone, but there's a separate room with a daybed that would accomodate a child or traveling companion. The breakfast is superb -- and large enough to last until dinnertime. The Pear Tree Suite is in an adjacent building that the Brafferton has acquired, but the main inn is the oldest extant house in Gettysburg and has impressive history. One of the bedrooms has a bullet hole from the battle in its wall. The proprietors are both very professional and very caring. Its located in the centerof town and you can walk to most of the historic sites, or take a free trolley. I consider the Brafferton the best way to experience Gettysburg,
Thank you so much for your review. I am so glad you enjoyed the Pear Tree Suite. I feel this is the best room in all of Gettysburg! We hope to see you again soon!

We couldn't have been more pleased with our stay. It's the oldest house of the square and rich with history with every step you take within its walls. The location is fabulous. The host were very friendly and immediately we felt at home. The room was spacious and comfortable. We felt it was a little over price however we are glad we had the experience. Considering the price, we might not stay again. We enjoyed the breakfast!
We are so glad your found your room to be spacious and comfortable, and enjoyed our home cooked hot breakfast. As far as room rates, we are priced extremely well against other bed and breakfasts in the Gettysburg area, and our prices are actually lower than many other inns. Being in the downtown historic area has its advantages of being able to park your car and walk the town, which you cannot do with many inns on the outskirts of town.

This was my second trip to the Brafferton Inn and I was as impressed the second time as I was the first. The historical value of the Inn all on its own makes it a worthwhile location, but the exceptional breakfasts, impeccably clean rooms and friendly staff make it a must-stay location in Gettysburg. I can't stay enough about all of the little extras, like fresh-baked cookies and coffee available at all hours, small candies at all of the tables in the common/sitting area and various books and art on display (as well as for sale on site if you are really interested in them). The fresh-cooked breakfasts are spectacular, and you always walk away with a full belly and satisfied taste buds! The Inn is literally a part of Gettysburg history, and a top-notch B&B as well. You won't be disappointed with your stay.

We had 3 wonderful days at the Brafferton Inn. A beautiful historically restored inn with all the modern amenities. Everyone was friendly, and breakfast each morning was delicious. We enjoyed being able to walk all around downtown. We recommend the Nation Riding Stables, Gallop Through Gettysburg. What a wonder experience to see the battlefield on horseback with a very informative guide. So much fun ! If you happen to be their on a rainy day, not to worry. Pick up an Audio Guide of Gettysburg Battlefield and take the car tour. What a wonderful way to go through the park. We also, recommend stopping at the Seminary Hill Museum for a look at how the local people were impacted by these short three days in history, We were truly touched by this representation of the war.

Joan and Brian provide a wonderful atmosphere for this in-town B&B. The breakfast was very good and accommodating. Our room was not in the main house but very nice. The 5 buildings are next to one another, connected but access to the main house requires you to leave your building and walk down the street to the main house. Not a problem for us, but we thought access to the main house was connected without going out to the street or the alley. We would probably stay at the main house next time. The gardens looked beautiful but weather did not permit enjoying them. Joan is very knowledgeable about the area (Gettysburg) and provided a local map to help us out. Her dining recommendations were spot on. Thanks Joan! And Brian for a good breakfast.

I'm so happy I decided to try a B&B versus a hotel like I normally choose ..... when in Gettysburg I like to be conveniently located to the downtown area where the pubs and shops are located and the Brafferton Inn is just steps away from the action. The Inn has perfectly maintained the civil war era ambiance but added very modern bathrooms. The Lincoln suite had a very comfortable roomy bathroom with a big walk-in beautifully tiled shower and double vanity. The bed had a high quality mattress as well as high quality sheets and pillows. ... The host Joan is a sweetheart and very laid back ... Her son is also there and very pleasant. To top if off you get a breakfast which I found outstanding .... A warm freshly baked lemon poppy muffin with a cream cheese filling was waiting on the table ... Followed by your choice of 4 different breakfast entrees. ... I choose a breakfast casserole which was awsome. .... Like I mentioned earlier I'm so happy I choose the Brafferton Inn and highly recommend it ... Vinnie

This was our first stay ever in a B & B and we loved it! The location was perfect. Outside of a horseback riding tour, we were perfectly comfortable parking the car and leaving it for the whole weekend. The only thing I'd suggest is to maybe bring a fan. The staff may have one, we didn't ask, but it did get a tad warm overnight. At least for us. We were in the Battlefield Room.

Historic 1700s building was absolutely beautiful. There are many places to sit and relax, inside and out. My favorite spot was a covered area just outside the main building. We stayed in the Getty's Suite and loved it. Fully modern bathroom (wish my shower at home was that awesome with two shower heads and a corner seat) with full kitchen and living room. Was perfect for our family of 4. Two bedrooms in this suite, and the extra room had twin beds which my teenage boys loved. They hate having to share a bed! Only downside was the wifi doesn't reach that far. Morning breakfast was delicious; I believe we had four meal options to choose from each day, and while we were waiting for our food there was a bowl of fresh fruit and a delicious popover to enjoy. Afternoon cookies were a welcome treat after a day of sightseeing. Will definitely stay again!

We were taken back when we first arrived by the quaint feel of the town. The feeling got even better when we went into the Inn and met Brian. The charm and allure of the home was incredible. The fresh made afternoon cookies were a treat all to itself. Our room was great, comfy, inviting, and warm. We settled right in as if we were in our own home. We got some great advice on a local place to eat and have some drinks. The GarryOwen Pub was fantastic. Atmosphere, drinks, food all top notch. The next morning we went to the dining room for breakfast and we were blown away again. The place settings, fresh cut fruit and warmth were enough but then came the food......4 options and none of them would have disappointed. It was scrumptious. Topped it all off with daily fresh made pastry, lemon curd muffin was so delicate and tasty. The Brafferton was recommended to us and we would certainly recommend it to anyone. We will be back in the fall to take in more sites and enjoy the hospitality.

We had a great suite named Dorothys Hideaway. It was very comfortable, just the right size, and had an amazing bathroom with 2 person jacuzzi. The owner is on premises and they serve an amazing home cooked breakfast. They cater to food allergies aswell, I have celiac disease and my fiancé is alergic to all dairy and they made us home cooked muffins, pancakes, along with some great egg dishes. Just a great place to stay!!! Adam

My wife and I were looking for a nice bed and breakfast in Gettysburg to celebrate her birthday when we found the Brafferton Bed and Breakfast with a simple Google search. Staff at Brafferton were helpful with check in and showing us the property and where are room was. We stayed in the Brafferton Suite which is located to the front of the Bed and Breakfast and had been warned that the street noise can be a nuisance but it really didn't bother us as the room was cozy and the bed was neat and comfortable giving us a good nights rest. We were delightfully surprised with the excellent breakfast provided by the Brafferton staff and the amazing muffins they serve. The entire stay was worth it just for the breakfast in the morning. We look forward to returning to the Brafferton Bed and Breakfast in the future.

You will not regret it!

We had Dorothy's Suite. Beautiful room. We decided on this for the jacuzzi and we also had a cozy shaded balcony (definitely would be nice in the summer). The room had everything you would expect, except for a firdge. Our room was a building over from the Main Lobby, so that was unusual, but not inconvenient. Parking hours are tricky, or there is a parking garage that costs $10/day behind the building, but no included parking convenience in your stay. I met Brian and Joan and they were very nice people. Breakfast was delightful.. Would happily stay there any time.

Our second visit to the Brafferton and already scheduled for a third. Visiting is like taking a step back in time. Service, accommodations, acces to downtown, personality of owners and support staff are excellent. The owner, Brian, boasts the "best breakfast in Gettysburg" and, he's absolutely right. Can't be more relaxed than when your at the Brafferton.

We stayed in the Brafferton Suite. The room was wonderful. It has a fireplace and a tub. The owners are really friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was wonderful!!! Laurel & Tom from Freeland

Well appointed room and the breakfast was a gourmets delite.

From the moment we walked into the historic Brafferton Inn, we felt like we were home. Joanne greeted us and helped us with parking and Cindy gave us a tour and showed us to our room. The room was lovely and updated, with beautiful wood floors and a big, comfy bed. The bathroom had a large whirlpool tub. That night, when we found that most restaurants within walking distance had hour-plus waits, we asked Brian for advice and ended up having a marvelous meal at Gettysburg Eddie's as he suggested. Breakfast in the morning was delectable! Brian is a great and creative cook and we were waited on by very attentive ladies. Thank you for a very special weekend!

My husband and I went to Gettysburg for a weekend getaway. The Brafferton Inn was a delight - the Lincoln Suite was beautifully appointed, breakfast was delicious and Brian and Joan were wonderful hosts. We'll be back to try another room!

We enjoyed a lovely 2 night stay here just this month. We stayed in the Battle Room.. It is a truly great room with its own bathroom. Lots of room, great décor, wonderful old creaky floors loved it! We were served a truly fantastic breakfast every morning with the friendliest smiles and good nature. I looked forward to coming down for breakfast was such a wonderful way to start the day. Was just a bit noisy 1 night due to Emergency fire trucks passing by but was not a bother at all. I highly recommend staying here! The Kapps

Everything about our stay at The Brafferton Inn exceeded our expectations. The Room was beautiful and very clean. The entire Staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast was out of this world. I liked the private parking and off street access. We Are Planning A Return In The Summer. I recommend anyone Visiting Gettysburg to stay here.

What a wonderful stay we had at the Brafferton! The Hodges were so welcoming and it was clear that they truly put their all into making our stay such a great experience! Beautiful rooms in a beautiful home...plus the breakfasts were second to none! We will definitely be back!

Enjoyed our second stay at the Brafferton and highly recommend this charming and historic B&B. The breakfasts are satisfying and and delicious, with four choices of the main entree. Brian and Joan are both very gracious, friendly and helpful, as are all the staff. The common areas are cozy and comfortable. Loved the Eisenhower Room on the third floor with the gas fireplace and window seat. Staying in town is convenient since many restaurants and shops are within walking distance. We parked in the public garage behind the inn without any problems.

This was our second time staying here. The rooms are very quaint. I know they want to keep the rooms traditional but the addition of a small refrigerator would be nice. I definately will stay there again. Breakfast was delicious!!
5 on December 17, 2015
I sometimes get myself lost-locked out-confused with the traffic-ect., but all was good because I knew in the end I had a wonderful room waiting for me and a hot cup of coffee...Everyone was very nice and I totally enjoyed my mini vacation and relaxed like I have not done in years.

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving experience at the Brafferton Inn.
5 on December 03, 2015
My wife and I have stayed at the Brafferton Inn at least five times with the most recent being over the Thanksgiving Holiday 2015. I have also recommended this venue to friends who travel to Gettysburg. The inn is centrally located in town, which speaks for itself. The rooms are comfortable and a fair size for the cost. The breakfasts are delicious and filling with several choices offered. We are already looking forward to our next stay.
5 on November 26, 2015
Our visit to The Brafferton Inn was fantastic. Everyone was so hospitable and the room was awesome. The breakfasts were unlike anything we've had before. Excellent! We are planning to return soon! Thanks so much!
4.6 on November 26, 2015
I stayed here during the 2015 Gettysburg Remembrance Weekend, and chose this inn because even three months out, it was the only downtown Gettysburg venue that had a room left! The morning breakfast was superb, and it was clear that the innkeepers were very accustomed to handling a fully-booked property! The Deck Suite is the perfect room to book if you are a light sleeper, as it looks out on the backyard and Race Horse Alley. It is one of the more expensive rooms, so when I stay here next time, I'll make sure to book one of the smaller, cheaper rooms.
5 on November 18, 2015
This was our second stay in the Loft Suite, and fourth stay at the Brafferton. It is by far our favorite place to stay when we visit Gettysburg. The breakfast, as always, was wonderful. The room nice and warm and cozy. Brian and Joan were both very helpful when asked questions or when we needed extra towels. We look forward to staying here again in the very near future!

My boyfriend and I came to Gettysburg for a weekend getaway. Staff was pleasant, place was clean. Room was larger than I thought it would be, which is always a nice surprise. Location is great too, right down town. Walking distance to bars, restaurants and shops! The best part of this place was breakfast. Everything was wonderful. Service and food. Great thing I loved is they offer 4-5 options and you can decide what you want. Most b&b's don't do this. They offer a wide variety of items, something to appeal to everything. They also made a fresh pastry every morning which were so good! I'd 100% suggest this place to anyone traveling to this area. Wonderful experience.

Outstanding little place, the owners son and mom are very nice, only wish there was a little fridge in the Catherine room. Overall it is a great place, very historic and right in the heart of downtown. I would stay again for sure!
5 on November 08, 2015
Although we made last minute reservations, Brian and his staff made our stay another pleasurable experience. As usual, breakfast was beyond expectations. Our favorite place to stay while in Gettysburg.
5 on November 08, 2015
There are reasons why we keep coming back to the Brafferton - Joan, Brian, etc. being huge. We are always WELCOMED! We love the Lincoln Suite. It is spacious, inviting, great any time, but with the lovely fireplace in the fall -wow! - Fabulous bathroom! The breakfasts are terrific. How Brian manages to give such great choices on the spot is a mystery to me. The Brafferton offers history, pristine housekeeping and LOCATION! It is in this charming town - most convenient to restaurants, shopping and theater. Brafferton rocks!

5 on November 03, 2015
Beautiful inn. Very welcoming hosts. A motel with a Continental breakfast does not compare to a bed and breakfast. Same price, better value. Better accommodations. Better customer service. This is one of the best there is, in my opinion.

We stayed in the Lincoln Suite and it was incredible. There was a beautiful fireplace, huge comfy bed, and a spa shower that had 5 shower heads. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The breakfast each morning was delicious. You would receive a homemade pastry and fruit plus a choice of 4 different entrees. It was the best meal we received while in Gettysburg!

5 on October 25, 2015
We stay here every fall during the week. The Brafferton Inn offers great hospitality, scrumptious breakfasts, history, easy walking distance to the circle and downtown shops and restaurants, and the wonderful Pear Tree Suite. We prefer the Pear Tree because it's always spotlessly clean, offers two separate rooms (both with TVs) for sleeping when you're taking a girls' trip and don't want to sleep in the same bed. When you stay at the Pear Tree you get private parking, a private entrance and a nice outside porch to relax and enjoy a Happy Hour after a long day. There's a large living room with a huge comfy king-sized bed, a gas fireplace and flat screen TV, mini kitchen with a Keurig coffee machine (they even provide Half 'n Half), sink, microwave and small refrigerator, plus a separate dining area. The bathroom is huge with a shower and spa tub, plus two separate sinks/mirrors, robes and private toilet. Brian and Joan are so friendly and helpful. Cookies and coffee/tea are provided in the afternoon. And, last, but not least, Brian's breakfasts are to die for...you have a choice of three different times, are seated at your own table and served fresh coffee, juice, fruit, homemade pastry, then your choice of one of three entrees, savory or sweet, which can include a cheese/egg strata, pancakes, scrambled eggs with feta and spinach or salmon, with sausage and potatoes! Truly one of our favorite parts of our trip. There are 17 rooms of all sizes, so take your pick and enjoy a nice cozy visit to Gettysburg and the Brafferton!

Great location. Just a couple of minutes from town center. The breakfast was very good with a lot of selection. The room was nice. The only real problem was the parking. It's payed parking in a parking garage behind the building. Any of the other ones in town that I know of have their own parking.
5 on October 23, 2015
You will not be disappointed! We stayed in the Peach tree Suite. It is the perfect. Everything about this inn exudes Gettysburg charm. The breakfasts are top notch and the i nnkeepers make you feel comfortable...at home.

Step off York Street (busy US 30) in downtown Gettysburg and go back in time to the town's beginnings. Comfortable rooms (ours was in the building two doors down) with excellent service and a wonderful breakfast made for a very nice one night stop in Gettysburg. The inn is very close to the national battlefield visitor center and museum and several highly regarded restaurants and pubs.
5 on October 13, 2015
We always have the best service, cleanliness and breakfasts at the brafferton inn! We wish we could duplicate the breakfasts on our own! It is also in a convinient location in walking distance of many shops, restaurants and wineries!
5 on October 11, 2015
What a wonderful place to stay. The hosts were friendly and very knowledgeable about the history of the inn, provided us with a clean comfy room, chocolate chip cookies, a place to park and the location is perfect, right by Lincoln Square. Breakfast was delicious. The best lemon poppyseed muffin ever, fresh fruit and a a choice of entrees that all sounded so delicious it was hard to choose. The room you eat breakfast in has a story of its own, check out the hand painted walls with the battle of Gettysburg on them. Highly recommended, hope to make it back again soon.

Our room at the Brafferton was delightful. It was comfortable and cozy after a long day of sightseeing. The staff could not have been more welcoming and helpful. One of the things I most enjoy while staying at a bed and breakfast is the food, which exceeded our expectations. It was a wonderful weekend.

The room was BEAUTIFUL and the breakfasts were always delicious with many choices. We will never stay anywhere else when visiting Gettysburg! We would recommend this to anyone and everyone
5 on September 24, 2015
Brafferton Inn met our expectations. Downtown location is convenient to shops, restaurants and to the transit center. Our room was in a quiet location with plenty of space to stretch out after our busy days of sightseeing. Can't thank Brian and Joan enough for their wonderful hospitality and those awesome egg white breakfasts. Looking forward to a return trip in the near future.

Stayed at the Brafferton Inn last weekend. Awesome staff, nice place, great breakfast. Our only complaint was the room air conditioning was super loud. It sounded like an airplane turning on its engines and woke us up every time it cycled. Not too great for sleeping.
5 on September 23, 2015
Fantastic B&B, well maintained, friendly and great food. Well worth the trip, would stay here again.
5 on September 17, 2015
We chose to stay at The Brafferton Inn, because we were looking for a great historical connection to the city of Gettysburg. Wonderful service, cozy and spacious room (we stayed in the Battle room), and the breakfasts were delicious. Perfect location, too, as you simply walk out the front door and you're right downtown. I would highly recommend anyone stay here, and we will definitely be back for any future visits to the city. We had a lovely time.

I was driving acroos country to take my daughter to college and stopped over in Gettysburg for one night. Our stay at the Brafferton was perfect. Very warm and hospitable. Highly recommend this and we will stop in again if we make that drive again!

The hosts were friendly and very helpful (especially about the parking rules) and the location was very handy to both the historical sites and restaurants. The breakfast was everything I had heard about and more. I look forward to staying there again.

Stayed in Tillie's Room. Greeted by owner's son who explained EVERYTHING, doors, parking, breakfast, showed us to our room, even the history of the Inn. Breakfast was delicious, staff was friendly, and leaving was sad. Also, Inn is located in a GREAT central location. If/when we return to Gettysburg, I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else.

We made our reservation with very short notice and were very pleased with our selection. The room was lovely - we just didn't realize the bathroom for the Master Bedroom was across the hall (I didn't read the details very well). The breakfast was absolutely the best we've experienced in bed & breakfast stays. Location was great - within walking distance to quite a few restaurants/grills and not too far from the battlefield sites. Would welcome a longer stay in the future.

Parking is the only issue. If you leave your car behind the B&B in the metered space make sure to feed the meter at 8:00AM sharp. Got a ticket at 8:15AM, they must be looking for that infraction.

My wife and I stayed here on July 29th as part of our 10th anniversary trip to Gettysburg. The experience was great from the moment we walked in to the moment we left. The room was great and the bed and linens gave us one of our best nights sleep in a very long time. The breakfast in the morning was top notch and one of the best we had at any B & B that we have ever stayed at. This is going to be a must stay again when we do a return trip to Gettysburg.

We had a choice of several breakfasts each morning. It was hard to choose as everything sounded delicious! Both Brian and Joan were very helpful in recommending excellent restaurants and providing answers about tours and directions. The Brafferton Inn is charming, beautiful, welcoming and ideally located. No less so is the Old Orchard Guest House, an extension of the traditional B&B that is just a few blocks away (closer to the battlefields and Dobbin House restaurant and Victorian Photography Studio, both Gettysburg MUSTS). OOGH offers three bedrooms, two living rooms, 1.5 baths, a well-appointed kitchen, laundry AND a beautiful backyard with covered patio for about the same price as a premium B&B room. Perfect for a family weekend (or longer) stay. We visited on a record cold Valentine's Day and the thoughtful owners made sure the house was warmed up before our arrival and that the snow from a surprise Saturday night storm was vanished before we awoke on Sunday. How's that for service? Cooking is something we love to do together and we had everything we needed to do that, but there are great restaurants within easy walking distance, too. The Old Orchard Guest House sounds too good to be true, but it right there, waiting for you to visit -- and us to come back. No traditional B&B breakfast at the house, but it mattered not to us. The website requires a rating for "dining" and with the kitchen plus restaurants, I don't think it's exaggeration to say "outstanding."

Our stay was wonderful and we could not have asked for a more beautiful suite!!! My husband and I stayed at the Brafferton Inn for our anniversary and we will definitely go back! From check-in to check-out our family had a terrific stay! There were six of us so we stayed in The Loft Suite and Codori Suite. The size ,comfort, and historic charm of the Loft Suite were so much more than we expected. The Codori Suite was so charming and a perfect stay for my husband and two children. The breakfast was amazing! Shopping, restaurants and historic sites are a short walk from the Brafferton Inn. This was our second stay at the Inn and we cannot wait to come back!

My wife and I wanted to have a post-holiday gettaway weekend and opted to give the Brafferton Inn a try. We are so glad we did. Everything about the Brafferton Inn was perfect from the warm reception from Brian Hodges, owner and Innkeeper, to the accomodations and the best breakfast in Gettysburg! We were able to enjoy the local attractions and do the things we wanted to and the retreat to our suite (The Gettys Suite) and simply relax. Another benefit of the Brafferton Inn is the location. Right in the heart of downtown Gettysburg and within walking distance of so many shops and businesses. The Brafferton Inn was our real first Bed and Breakfast experience and it was everything and more than we hoped it would be. It well exceeded our expectations and we are looking forward a return visit. Brian and Jayne Pampuro Annapolis, Maryland

The Brafferton Inn was perfectly situated for our needs on York Street; a mere 1/2 block from the fireworks display that went off at midnight to welcome in 2015!! The Inn hosts were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good (delicious muffins); would have like to linger a bit more over coffee at the dining table, but a third seating prevented this (was able to overflow into the living room).

We booked the Pear Tree Suite and it was beautiful, spacious and private. I loved the decor. The owners were friendly and the breakfast was delicious. We plan to stay there again.

We only live 10 miles from Gettysburg but we wanted to stay near the square for all the festivities. The Brafferton was the perfect place. We plan on spending other special nights there in the future.

We love the Brafferton Inn. It is such a quaint and lovely place to stay. We stayed in the Guest House this time. It was perfect for 5 guests. There was plenty of room and it was equipped to cook, which we did one evening. New Year's Eve was a blast.

Not typically a bed and breakfast type but really enjoyed our stay at the Brafferton Inn. We definitely stay there again next time in Gettysburg.

Recently we stayed at the Brafferton Inn in Gettysburg as we have many times. Each time, we are greeted at the door and feel right at home. The staff is incredibly helpful and offers up suggestions when asked of the area. While we have stayed in several different rooms, the Eisenhower Room was our favorite. The spacious room is clean and well set-up for a few days stay. We love Gettysburg and it would not be a complete overnight visit without Brian's amazing breakfasts. From the fresh fruit, to the delicious muffins and the main breakfast options, you will not go away hungry. The location makes it convenient for walking in town and exploring the area. We are grateful to both Brian and Joan for sharing their Gettysburg home with us. We look forward to our next visit!

Very nice place to stay and the owners were fantastic. We were coming to Gettysburg for a ghost tour and stayed here and did the inn tour during the day also. Will definitely come back again, and the breakfast was awesome.

The breakfasts were amazing; the service was excellent; and the location is perfect, in the center of town near dining and shopping, and also only a few minutes from the battlefield.

Three couples stayed at the Orchard Street House part of the Brafferton Inn properties. The house were perfectly located within walking distance of everything in town and very convenient to the visitors center and battlefield. The house was beautifully decorated, very comfortable and will appointed.

For my sister's birthday, I treated her to a three day visit to Gettysburg. We both love history! Staying at the Brafferton Inn was the best decision of the weekend! The historic flair to the entire Inn, the roominess of the suite, the delicious and beautifully served breakfasts, and the friendly staff who made us feel like family. We were close to everything we wanted to see and do! We will be back...the sooner the better! It was a memorable long weekend! Cynthia S., Grantville, PA

The Brafferton Inn was our first experience staying at a B&B. You have raised the bar so high, it will be difficult to find anything better. Your service, unbelievable breakfasts, and the beautiful, clean, well-equipped rooms were beyond expectations. We will be back. Thank you for a great experience. The Stedman's.

Having stayed at The Brafferton Inn before, we jumped at the chance to stay there again. It is a charming and well run establishment, and Joan and Brian are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the area. The breakfasts served are nothing less than spectacular with a homey and warm atmosphere. The rooms we stayed in were comfortable and inviting. I would definitely recommend this place.

I wanted our group to stay at a convenient location in downtown Gettysburg. The Brafferton Inn exceeded my expectations. It was warm and inviting. The staff was helpful and interested in making our stay enjoyable. Breakfast was delightful. Our suite had 2 bedrooms, a large but cozy sitting room and an equipped kitchen, all of which were perfect for 2 couples. We had a special time in Gettysburg and at the Brafferton Inn.

We stayed in the Old Orchard Guesthouse for a weekend in October with my daughter and 3 of her friends to celebrate her 17th birthday. The house was absolutely beautiful. It was extremely clean and periodically decorated to fit the civil war theme of Gettysburg. The full kitchen was a big plus and we were able to cook breakfasts to save a little money. We have visited Gettysburg several times but this was our first time staying there but will most definitely return. The location was great, we could walk almost everywhere. We had a wonderful time! Everything was perfect! Johnna

The Brafferton Inn is a very old building that has been kept up true to its period. If you like historical buildings, you will enjoy your stay. It was kept fairly clean and was very well decorated and furnished. The staff worked very hard to ensure that all my needs were met. There was always good coffee and tea available, at any time of the day. Apart from this historical experience of the stay the true highlights were the hosts and the food. Every morning we were treated to new dishes and pastries, all of which were unique and succulent. I would most certainly stay there again if I were to travel back into the area.

We stayed for two nights in the Lincoln Suite, lovely two rooms, comfortable king bed. Fireplace in the living room, period furnishings. Very quiet. Skylights in both the living room and bedroom where you can see the stars on a clear night. We were given a 2 CD self guided tour of Gettysburg Battleground which was excellent and we really appreciated the owners lending it to us. Best home cooked breakfast ever!! Rob & Linda Telford

Brian and Joan were great hosts for our stay in Gettysburg! They are very knowledgeable about the surrounding area and made an amazing breakfast in the morning. They even let us borrow the audio tour for Gettysburg so we didn't have to purchase it at the visitors center. We enjoyed the hot chocolate and coffee set out in the dining room and the entire inn is very clean and welcoming. We definitely want to come back!

Can't say enough about how much we enjoy staying at The Brafferton Inn. Brian and Joan are so hospitable! Their breakfasts are always delicious and they offer at least 3-4 main entree choices every morning. We always stay in the Pear Tree Suite because it offers 2 separate beds (for a girls' weekend away), a free parking space, gas fireplace, flatscreen TVs in both rooms, mini kitchen w/ Keurig coffeemaker and refrigerator, plus a nice outside porch to sit and relax. The location is right in the heart of Gettysburg, so you're within walking distance of shops and restaurants. Coffee/tea and homemade cookies are offered in the afternoon. They also offer discounts if you stay more than once or book on weekdays.

Our daughter is a student at Gettysburg College and we have stayed at the Brafferton Inn every family weekend (in the fall) and once every spring. I love this place. The staff is excellent, friendly and attentive. The rooms are comfortable and clean and the breakfast is amazing. Make sure to try the lemon poppy seed muffin! Words cannot describe...

We drove to Gettysburg for one night/day in late October 2014. Lovely time of year to take in history. We arrived late to the Brafferton and Joan was able to meet us because we called to tell her we would be late. She helped us plan our activities for the next day. We found the hotel convenient to downtown, and to the national park. The room was comfortable, food was excellent, and everything was clean.

After an exhausting day in Gettysburg, it was nice to return to a relaxing room that gave us the feeling of home. Visiting a historic place like Gettysburg, deserves to spend the evening in a historic place like the Brafferton Inn. In the morning, we were surprised with a lovely prepared breakfast with three main breakfast choices, a delicious pastry and fresh fruits. Thank you!

The Brafferton Inn has much to recommend it. The location is outstanding, and the breakfast is one you'll remember fondly. The operators are genuinely helpful and enthusiastic. Our room was a bit plain and quirky and perhaps not as special as some other inn rooms I've had, but there was nothing wrong with it. I'd definitely return.
Thank you for your wonderful review. We are so happy you enjoyed our location and our full cooked breakfast. As far as rooms, we do have 17 different options, which are all unique in their own way. From queen bedrooms in the 1786 house, to queen suites, or king suites with Jacuzzi tubs and gas fireplaces. Maybe on your next visit we can set you up with a different room. Thanks again and we hope to host you again soon.

The Inn was exceptional. The location was great and the innkeepers were extremely accommodating. We had an appointment to meet our guide at the battleground for 8:00 a.m. and they packed us an "on the go" breakfast since we wouldn't be joining the other visitors in the morning. They met us at the door, took us on a tour of the entire house and were available for questions

Spacious bathroom with a shower that has 2 shower heads and a double vanity. Breakfast was incredible and filling. They provided 3-4 options each morning and even were able to accommodate food allergies. I highly recommend this place for your stay in Gettysburg. Perfect location and lovely stay!

The Loft Room has high ceilings with exposed beams, original floors and exposed brick & stone walls. This suite is in the attic on the third floor and very private as no other guests on the third floor. Breakfast was delicious. Joan and Brian and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. Location right in town was convenient to shops and restaurants. We parked in the public garage located just a few steps behind the inn. We completely enjoyed our stay at the Brafferton Inn.

We had a wonderful overnight stay at The Brafferton Inn on August 28th. We received a tour and history of the inn, and were able to upgrade to the Cordori Suite for a nominal charge. Breakfast was included and it was VERY good! I ordered quiche and my husband had an egg bake with blue cheese. Just wish I could have tried the blueberry pancakes - they looked delicious. It was a great way for us to start our Pennsylvania vacation.

Recently stayed at the Bed and Breakfast. Upon check in I was immediately disappointed that there was no parking or parking vouchers provided. Getting checked in was a hassle, the woman who checked us in gave us a speech about how lovely the facility was and gave us a mandatory 'tour' of 2 rooms; the parlor where the furniture was badly worn out and the dining room, where the cloth placements are never changed between breakfast seating's. Please be aware, breakfast requires a "reservation" with 3 seating and its a lovely day, the patio and gardens they brag about are not an option unless advanced notice is given, one cannot even take coffee into the garden area for breakfast. In the three days we were there the garden area and tables were always emptied. The rear entrance and exit to the parking garage is through the facility's garage where one light bulb offers light during the dark evening. One did not eve feel save entering and exiting the property. In addition, you get lovely view of storage and debris. The most disappointing experience was having to kill roaches in our room, yes roaches. Upon making the owner's know about this, an apology was not even offered or a refund so we could go elsewhere. We were charged the full amount and treated very rudely thereafter. I fully question the reviews that have been posted here since they all are excellent with no complaints. Something does not seem right comparing our stay to the stay of others.
We have owned this bed and breakfast for 10 years, and truly love all our guests who have stayed with us over the years. This guest, however, is very mean spirited and this is a very hateful review. The review is full of inaccuracies and false accusations. We fully explain on our website about parking, and the check in process is easy and not a hassle at all. Our parlor has new furniture, not old and worn out, and breakfast to all our other guests is a delight. The garden area and outside deck can be used 24 hours a day, yes you can bring your coffee outside, and we do serve breakfast outside with a simple request. We have never is our 10 years seen any "roaches", and when these guests brought it to our attention, we stripped all of there linens and thoroughly cleaned their room. We asked them if they needed anything else, and they said they were fine. We absolutely never treated them rudely. They stayed here three days and never complained again, or asked to switch rooms or leave etc. They actually never checked out with us and left without paying or turning in the key. Please read our 350 other reviews on this site for an accurate description our us and our inn. Thank You

My husband and I absolutely loved the Brafferton Inn! The hospitality was unlike any experience we have had before. Our room was adorably decorated, and very romantic. The Inn was located perfectly within the city for easy access and walking to multiple dining options, stores, attractions, etc. Breakfast was elegantly displayed and absolutely delicious! We can not wait to visit again!

My fiancé and I stayed at The Brafferton Inn for a weekend getaway two weeks ago. The B&B is absolutely beautiful, historic and very clean. We stayed in the Garden Room and we loved it! Breakfast every morning was delicious and the service was outstanding. The owners were extremely inviting, friendly and made us feel at HOME. The Inn is located within walking distance to everything. We did not get back in our car until it was time for us to go home, which we loved. We can't wait to go back to Gettysburg, in fact we are hoping to go again in October, and when we do The Brafferton Inn will be the only place we will stay. FIVE STARS ALL THE WAY!!!!! Room was nicely done, but had a few disappointments. The A/C was right over our headboard woke us up a lot during the night. Mattress very soft so had a bad back in the morning. View from the balcony was a brick wall. Breakfast was lovely, we would probably come back, but use a different room.

Staying at Brafferton Inn is such a delight. Each room is unique and you can choose from a great array of accommodations. The staff is so warm and welcoming. The breakfast is amazing including delicious fresh fruit, baked pastry and a choice of breakfast entree. When you check in, there are homemade cookies and coffee. It is a treat to stay in a historic property, especially when there are indoor and outdoor common spaces. Love it! It is the only place I stay in Gettysburg. Plus you have the added convenience of being in the historic downtown.

The friendly staff, clean room (with a view from the deck!), amazing breakfast (my belly is still full!) and great location made our stay at the Brafferton Inn B&B a memorable one. We stayed in the Deck Suite in the original stone house. It's a small room, but that didn't matter because it was: 1) clean; 2) had a deck; and 3) we were busy enjoying all that Gettysburg has to offer...our suite was a place to relax and unwind before, in between, and after all of the fun we had! Innkeeper Brian was top-notch - as friendly and helpful as anyone I've encountered while staying in a hotel/resort/B&B. We enjoyed the Brafferton breakfast twice...and it puts the cereal I'm going to have for breakfast tomorrow to shame. The breakfast was the perfect way to start off the day, and it rivals any breakfast I've had anywhere. We had an awesome weekend! Our next trip to Gettysburg is very likely going to include a stay at the Brafferton.

I would recommend The Brafferton Inn to anyone! The Inn was relaxing, spacious, and very clean. Upon arrival, we were greeted with friendly staff who provided a tour of the bed and breakfast. Our room was very big, even for a basic room, and well decorated-we felt like as if we were at home. The best part was the hot tub which was surprisingly big enough for 2 people to fit comfortably. The breakfast in the morning was delicious-better food than any other bed and breakfast in the area! Everyone was kind, thoughtful, and the customer service is amazing. We will be back!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Brafferton. The Innkeepers and staff were beyond friendly--they made us feel right at home the moment we stepped through the door. And knowing we stayed in such a historical Civil War home made the stay even more enjoyable. We would not hesitate to stay at The Brafferton again when we return for another visit to Gettysburg!!

My husband had wanted to visit the Gettysburg battle fields for several years. Although I was not too interested I decided to surprise him and booked the trip. I found the Brafferton Inn on trip advisor and based on the reviews thought it would be a safe choice. The Brafferton exceeded our expectations! We stayed in the Garden suite and it was perfect. We brought our son along and all of us agreed that it was top notch. The suite was spacious, impeccably clean and the beds in the both the king and twin bedrooms were the most comfortable of any place we've stayed. The suite was air conditioned and always felt comfortable. The kitchen was fully stocked--right down to coffee for the Keurig as well as fresh creamer in the fridge! Breakfast was delicious and cooked to order every morning. You were given a choice of three entrées in addition to fresh fruit, orange juice and wonderful muffins. The innkeepers- Joan, Brian & AmyBeth were so welcoming, always available but never intrusive. The Brafferton is centrally located. Walk out the front door and there are shops and restaurants only steps away. The battle field and other key historical sites are all within 10-15mins drive. Also, the Majestic Theater is a 5 minute walk from the back of the inn which we enjoyed a movie at. We chose to see the battle fields via scooters, which was my husband’s idea. I was leery of the novel idea but it turned out to be the best option. GettyPeds is located just up the street from the inn and it was a blast. My husband rented a scooter and my son and I rented scoot coupe. We had a tour guide and he was fantastic. Be sure to go to the Diorama and Seminary prior to touring the battle field. I would go back in a heartbeat and highly recommend the Brafferton Inn. Gail O. Halifax, MA

My sister and I stayed at the Brafferton Inn at the beginning of August and I have absolutely no complaints about the Inn. It is located right by the town square, so it is incredibly convenient if you want to walk around and explore the town of Gettysburg. Despite its central location, the inn is very quiet. It was clean, and all the staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfasts served were good. I really enjoyed my stay and recommend it to anyone looking to stay in Gettysburg for a few nights.

As part of our vacation this year, I wanted to stay in downtown Gettysburg. Historically, I have not had the best of experiences with bed and breakfasts, but we decided this time it would be worth trying. From welcome to departure, the experience was everything we were looking forward to - the lodging was as advertised (yes the bed in the Pear Tree suite is amazingly comfortable), and the ambience of being in a historic environment just added to the experience. The small private patio was an amazingly comfortable place to wind down our first night in town. Breakfast was comfortable and fast but not rushed. Each day we had selection from three main dishes, and each was excellent - the stuffed French toast and the pastries were amazing. I can’t imagine not staying at the Brafferton Inn the next time we are in Gettysburg. I highly recommend them.

We have stayed here numerous times. The owners know me by name when I call to book a room. We have stayed in 3 different rooms in the inn and have loved them all!!

What a wonderful Inn this is. We made our reservation only a few days before our arrival having never been to Gettysburg. The historic building is classic with all the comfortable updates one would want. We were greeted immediately with a smile and welcome, even tho we arrived before check in time. Parking is not "on site" and if you are not familiar with the area is a little confusing at first but Brian gave us great details of where to find parking. Our room was fabulous, super comfy bed. The breakfasts were fabulous, the absolute best home made muffins I've ever had. The local is right in historic Gettysburg with plenty to see and do within walking distance. This is a gem!

We lived the Brafferton Inn. Almost more like a boutique hotel than B&B, the rooms were beautiful. It was a great deal and we were offered an upgrade for a very minimal fee. Well worth it! We will definitely stay there again!

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at the Brafferton Inn. Even as a couple in our late 20s, we felt welcome in this historic hotel right at the heart of downtown Gettysburg. The staff were wonderful and the rooms were warm and welcoming. The room we stayed in, Dorothy's Hideaway, provided the perfect mixture of intimate and modern for our needs. The Brafferton Inn has wonderful rooms, but it is known for its amazing breakfasts. The owner makes it breakfast different and with care like he was cooking for his own family because when you stay at the Inn you are family.

A great place to stay! We enjoyed the fact it was in the middle of historic Gettysburg and had its own bit of history. The hosts were super friendly and made our stay all the more special. We look forward to coming to Gettysburg again and will begin by reserving a room at The Brafferton.

Everything about our stay was perfect. If I could give more stars for the dining especially I would.

Our room was in a quiet area, very clean; had a terrific bathroom;and we enjoyed wonderful breakfasts for 3 mornings. The room had a comfortable king size bed and a full size pull out sofa bed. The sofa bed was not very comfortable. The room also had sky lights which added wonderful natural light throughout the day; however, at 5 a.m. it also provided wonderful light, but it would have been nice to have a blind or shade to cover them for the early morning hours. Other than that it was really very nice. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful.

Historic Inn, clean rooms, excellent breakfast. Considerations not in control of the Inn associated with the downtown location: Did not expect a $10.00 overnight parking fee; Inn is tight to Baltimore St. with relatively high traffic including noisy truck traffic. On the positive side, Inn is centrally located to shops and restaurants and just a ten minute drive to the Gettysburg Visitor Center and Museum. Would consider a repeat visit.

Super location, food was really good (bought the cookbook). No complaints about lodging or food. All very nice. Central location right off traffic circle in the main part of town. Cannot understand why the police/town does not do something about the hot-rods guys who cruise in and out of the traffic circle with LOUD mufflers. One old truck with a new orange sparkle paint job with pumpkins painted on the tailgate went through many times Fri night -- very obnoxious. Felt sorry for the families eating outside at the restaurants and pubs.

Great place. Variety of rooms, food excellent, very friendly staff and service.

This B&B is wonderful. The staff and owners are informative and accommodating. The location is absolutely outstanding! The property is literally one block from the Lincoln Square roundabout and quaint shops & restaurants await immediately outside the front door. There is a parking garage directly behind the inn and ample street parking, although metered 8am-8pm on weekdays. The inn has a lovely courtyard with beautiful gardens that complement any stay. Will certainly stay here again; great experience!

I have stayed here several times now, and have never once been disappointed. The rooms are beautiful, and spotless. The breakfasts are fantastic. Well worth splurging on every so often!

Brian and Joan were great and the Inn was lovely. When Brian learned that we were going to miss breakfast one morning due to a horseback ride, he kindly offered to put a takeaway breakfast together for us. Very thoughtful act and breakfast to go!

We stayed at the Old Orchard Guest House at 313 Baltimore St. - and it was perfect and definitely the pleasant surprise was how BIG it was. The pictures do it no justice. We were 3 adults and a 12 yr old and we could have had another couple with us easily. Having the entire house was great, especially for the price. The backyard and the two car garage made it even more roomy and hassle free. It is centrally located to walk around town too. The beds are very comfortable and the bathrooms are new. Every room is spacious - not typical for such an old house. There are only a few really good restaurants in Gettysburg and they fill-up quick, so we preferred cooking breakfast and dinner one night. The kitchen is new, but there is little that has been left behind from previous renters in the respect of incidentals - so if you plan on cooking, bring everything. A few pots and pans are there, but more utensils and silverware would have been better. Other than that, the place is a 10. We travel to Gettysburg once a year and this is definitely our default location from now on, even if its just my wife and I.

We had a wonderful experience at the Brafferton Inn. Our room was clean and a perfect size. The breakfasts were amazing, especially the muffins and pancakes. The location was perfect. When we return to Gettysburg we'll be staying here again!

The staff at the Brafferton Inn is friendly and absolutely wonderful!! This was our first trip to Gettysburg, and they were helpful in making sure it was a perfect. We will definitely go back and stay at the Brafferton!! The Inn is beautiful, service perfect, and staff absolutely incredible!

I cannot say enough great things about this Bed and Breakfast. It is such a beautiful place to stay, close to everything. The hosts are extremely hospitable and the food is out of this world wonderful. I have been there twice and it will be the only place I stay when in Gettysburg!

Very enjoyable, everyone went out of their way to be helpful and friendly.
3.4 on July 08, 2014
Need more electrical in bedroom. My husband uses a CPAP and had climb around to find an outlet. The only other issue is the noise from the busy street. I would highly recommend that the businesses of Gettysburg lobby for a bypass. Having trucks, semi trailers and loud Harley's drive through downtown really detracts from what Gettysburg is all about. History and reflection of what happened there that determined the course of the country.
4.8 on July 08, 2014
We spent some time meeting old friends from Texas who were also visiting Gettysburg. We toured the Seminary museum. We decided to stay within the historical area so a nice bed / breakfast was what we wanted. Breakfast was outstanding, more than just filling, and had a great, restful night's sleep! We will book it again in the future.

5 on July 06, 2014
This was our first trip to Gettysburg and the Brafferton Inn made it amazing. The Brian cooks top breakfasts in the morning and the cookies in the afternoon are amazing. The location is key. Your only a few doors down from Lincoln square; where all the good food and drinks are at night. When we checked in we were told the two nights we were there their Pear Suite was empty and we could upgrade at a VERY inexpensive rate and we did. The room was a dream. I'm a freak about neatness... this place is spotless. I'd gladly pay double just for their cleanliness :) my husband and I cannot wait to return.

Joan and Brian welcoming, informative hosts who really know how to make your stay comfortable. Inn is conveniently in center of town, walking distances to many restaurants. Rooms clean spacious well appointed. Breakfast is FABULOUS! No parking but garage directly behind and free parking spaces over night.

This was our 5th or 6th time staying at The Brafferton. It has always been a great experience. It's perfectly situated within the town near many shops and restaurants. The rooms are always immaculate and a nice blend of antiquities and modern furnishings. And Brian's breakfast - AWESOME! Joan's pastries - INCREDIBLE! If you're looking for quiet weekend getaway, this is the place. They never disappoint!

5 on June 19, 2014
From the minute we walked in the door we were impressed. Greeted by the owners in the living room in a manner that made us feel at home. We were given a history of the Inn, a tour of the property and escorted to our room. The breakfasts with fresh delicious muffins and a hearty entree was impressive. Our room was decorated with period furniture, paintings and accessories. The mattress was firm and provided for a restful night's sleep. This is the perfect place to stay when visiting Gettysburg. A real treat. Jim & Joan Smith

The Pear Tree Suite is the largest room we've ever stayed in anywhere - more like a small appartment, with a private entrance and private parking spot, plus its own patio. This suite is well worth the price. The B&B location is located in the historic section of Gettysburgh, with easy access to shopping and dining. The Brafferton hosts are very cordial and accomodating. The breakfast was adequate but not exceptional...

My husband and I stayed in the Pear Tree Suite and it was beautiful. Private entrance, patio and your own parking spot. It was in the rear of the building so very quiet. The bed was so comfortable that my husband wanted to bring it home. The room is very large and extremely clean. We can't wait to go back and stay. The Brafferton Inn is in the center of town and within walking distance to all the shops. The main part of the Inn is so beautiful. Loved the mural in the dining area. Quite an exceptional B & B.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Gettysburg at the Brafferton Inn! We highly recommended it!
4.8 on May 08, 2014
The inn is beautiful and couldn't be in a better location at the center of town. Parking is super convenient, just out the backdoor. The innkeepers were welcoming, friendly, and helpful. The Loft Suite was as advertised--stone, wood, and rustic. As the innkeepers note, the historic room at the top of the stairs can have some slightly cramped areas, such as the toilet stall, for large, modern Americans. The only little negative, which could be easily fixed, is that the Wi-Fi was spotty in this room. We will visit again.
4.2 on May 02, 2014
Very nice place to stay. I would recommend that you'd visit during the cooler months. The sun comes right in the windows and does a good job of heating the room up. Breakfast was very good as well.
5 on April 24, 2014
The Brafferton Inn is a lovely combination of preserved history and updated accomodations. The rooms have many period pieces and comfortable beds and furniture. We have stayed in almost all the rooms and they are all different, some with ammenities such as gas fireplaces, spacious sitting areas, modern bathrooms with gorgeous tiling, skylights, and so on. The owners, Joan and Brian, go out of their way to accomodate their visitors. The staff that serve at breakfast and take care of the rooms are among the nicest and most friendly people we have found in guest lodging. The breakfasts are not to be missed. There are always four or five choices for main courses, along with muffins and fresh fruit. Brian is very careful to adapt a guest's breakfast if their are any dietary restrictions for that person. The Brafferton Inn is very centrally located in the downtown area of Gettysburg, and given the quality of the rooms, the delcious breakfasts, and the location we feel it is outstanding value as a Bed and Breakfast. We will continue to stay there on our visits to Gettysburg and are looking forward to hosting a small family reunion there in May 2014.

We recently took a trip to Gettyburg to celebrate my husband's birthday and to get some much needed relaxation from the daily grind. The Brafferton is our "go to" home away from home whenever we get the chance. This B&B is beautiful from top to bottom with attention paid to every detail. The rooms are immaculate, inviting and perfectly appointed. The Innkeepers are always gracious and accommodating. Oh - and let's not forget the amazing breakfast with baked goods that are truly to die for!!! You will be hard pressed to find a better place to stay in the Gettysburg area. We can't wait to return! For the price of the room, I was somewhat surprised at the lack of expected amenities. Not only was the room we stayed in not in the main building but two doors down, the room had no coffee, no wi-fi, no ice machine or common area. You had to go outside and down to the main building for any of that. It was a busy weekend in the area so it was hard to find rooms. I think we ended up with on of the lesser rooms because of that.

My husband and I stayed at the Brafferton Inn the first weekend in April to celebrate our anniversary. I was looking for something romantic, with good food, and a great location. I looked at many B&Bs online, and decided that the Codori suite at Brafferton was exactly what I was looking for. And I was right! We couldn't have been happier. The staff were all very welcoming and kind, the room was gorgeous, and breakfast was delicious. I would definitely stay there again, and would recommend it to anyone looking for an elegant getaway.

We really enjoyed our stay. The B & B is spacious, you can't even tell there are other guests around. The food and hospitality was amazing. Really enjoyed it!

This was our first trip to Gettysburg and our first bed and breakfast. We could not have asked for a better experience. We stayed in the Pear Tree Suite which was beautiful and spacious. The Pear Tree Suite had a private patio that locked so we were able to keep my husband's scooter in the patio and it even had an outside electric outlet to charge the scooter. This suite was perfect because we were able to park right outside the suite so my husband did not have to walk too far. The location of the Brafferton in right on the Main Street so you can walk to restaurants and shops. The breakfast prepared by Brian was delicious. The staff at the Brafferton were friendly and helpful. Sad to say that it rained all weekend but the good thing is that we will be visiting Gettysburg again to do the things we could not due because of the rain. We will definitely book at the Brafferton again.

I booked this as a weekend getaway for my husband and I to enjoy some much needed relaxation. It was the ideal location. The home is beautiful with all of its historic beauty. The town is exceptional. We really enjoyed all the small shops and the wineries and battlefields. The inn owners were very personable and the breakfast was great. The pastries are phenomenal. We stayed in the Eisenhower room. It was on the third floor, which we were forewarned. However, we loved it. Spacious and private. It is not in the main house, which concerned me, but it turned out to be great, with its fireplace, mini fridge, coffee pot and microwave. Thank you and Enjoy!!
5 on March 18, 2014
Booked this for early March as an offseason getaway for my boyfriend and I. It was perfect! Because it was a slow time of the year, we got our room upgraded to a suite and it was amazing. The owners and staff are wonderful and the location is great. It is within walking distance of anything in downtown historic Gettysburg you'd want to do. The breakfasts were fantastic- my boyfriend is still talking about how good it was. Everything was clean and comfortable. It truly was a home away from home. We will definitely be back. To make this more affordable (depending on your budget) try and plan your trip around times just outside peak seasons. Definitely a perfect place to go for a relaxing weekend.

We went for my birthday, only one night. We loved our room. The fireplace and Jacuzzi tub were amazing. The history of the building helps enhance the experience. We had to leave the main building and walk a few doors up to get to our room and we thought this was fun and unique. The owners were very nice and breakfast was excellent. We can’t wait until we can return and spend more than one night in Gettysburg. Parking is an issue, but not in the off season.

February 2014. I would recommend this B and B to anyone. Brain and Joan do a wonderful job in making guests feel welcome in this historic building in Gettysburg. The rooms are exceptionally clean and cozy, the bedding smells divine, as does the breakfast that awaits you the next day. Thank you for everything, Kath and Clive

We stayed at the Brafferton for one night on a weekend getaway, and really enjoyed everything. Gorgeous rooms and common areas (we came in January so we couldn't enjoy the outside, but it looked like it would be lovely in the summer) and friendly, helpful staff. It's well-located, just a block away from the center of town, and has plenty of parking. Only small complaint is that we requested our eggs well-done in the morning, and they came runny, but other than that small thing we enjoyed every part. Particularly impressed with the way the rooms have been done- keeping their old-fashioned charm while having all the amenities of a modern hotel room. Thanks very much.

Bar non, this was the best breakfast I have ever had. I was happy with every part of the experience at this inn. The hosts were most gracious and very nice. I recommend this place to anyone who wants a awesome breakfast and a get away from the normal hotel. The rooms were clean and the atmosphere was quite nice. There was always something interesting to look at.

This was our 5th time staying at the Brafferton Inn. Each time has been wonderful. We have stayed in 3 different suites and each one had something special. The owners Joan and Brian are wonderful host. They make us feel like family each time. Brain makes the breakfasts each morning. They always have at least 3 that you can chose from. I know that you will not go away hungry. We love the suites that have gas fireplaces. They are so warm and inviting. We will be staying at the Brafferton three more times this year. We stayed in the Bafferton Suite in the Bafferton Inn in Gettysburg on December 29th, our anniversary. In Inn is perfectly located a few dozen yards from the town square and walking distance to nice restaurants, shopping, etc. The suite was wonderful with a two-person jacuzzi, king bed, and sitting room. We added a "romance package," which included dinner at the Dobbin House and campaign and chocolate dipped strawberries. I expected maybe four strawberries and a cheap wine, but the bubbly was nice and the innkeepers gave us 12 (yes, 12!) beautiful and decadent chocolate strawberries. There goes the diet! Breakfast the next day was excellent. We had a wonderful time for our anniversary and we'll be back.

On December 14 my boyfriend and I stayed at this beautiful historic BnB. We chose the Battle room! Upon arrival we where pleasantly greeted by Inn’s Owner, he was very nice and made us feel instantly at home. The inn was decorated beautifully with amazing period furniture. The integrity of this historic home was kept beautifully. We where over all satisfied with absolutely everything! Key positive Points: Our room was immaculate- cleanliness is very important to the both of us. There was not a speck of dust or dirt to be found! The sheets where amazing and the bathroom was as clean as I keep mine at home! It was very nice to have the Keurig down stairs with great selections of coffees, teas, hot coco and cookies for us to enjoy for FREE!! The breakfast we were served was outstanding! I can’t even begin to explain the muffins!!!!! These pastry like muffins where like something neither me nor my boyfriend have ever had! They where honestly out of this world! There where two things this stay was lacking. Water and a brief explanation as to what the Brafferton’s history was. It would have been much appreciated to have small bottles of water next to the coffee selection down stairs. I found myself several times in search of a simple glass of water! Being that this was my boyfriends first trip to Gettysburg we where in search of all the history we could get our hands on. We where both a little disappointed to leave this amazing BnB and not know its significance until researching it on our own. It would have been great to have some history to read in our room! Despite or two tiny complaints this was over all an amazing experience and we will 100% be returning this summer! My Boyfriend and I will always remember our first trip to Gettysburg together. Sincerely thank you Brafferton Inn for making our weekend getaway so special!

The Brafferton is a great historical B&B located in the heart of Gettysburg. The room, food and staff were all AAA+++. I am glad we were able to experience this great Inn and will be there again next year. Nice job.

We two couples were enchanted to be tucked away in the carriage house (attached to the house), with both room suites very large and comfortable with gas fireplaces, one with two bathrooms including a jacuzzi. We had on-site parking in the back and loved Brian's delicious breakfast scrambles and Joan's delicious pastry puffs. We were not supposed to call them muffins, but they were muffins with a creamy filling in the middle and lively toppings. Enthusiastically recommended!!

My husband and I had the pleasure of our first B & B experience at the Brafferton for our one year anniversary. Having never been to Gettysburg, we agreed that the Brafferton provided the perfect central location for our stay, with all the perks and whistles to accompany! The initial greeting was quite welcoming, with a continued warmth of service to follow. We were captivated by the history of the Inn and clean, uniquely themed rooms. Ironically, my husband and I are not big consumers at breakfast, but Brian's dishes made it very hard not to clean our plates. His homemade breakfast breads and pastries were simply to die for! Surely, we were geared up for the long day of shopping and sightseeing ahead of us. The freshly baked afternoon cookies were a nice treat, as well, upon our return. Thanks to the Brafferton, the Blackfords are lifetime B & B lovers and will continue our newfound anniversary tradition. Surely, we will return and forever recommend this Inn to our family and friends!

My girlfriend and I wanted to get away from the DC scene for a night and decided to head to Gettysburg. I basically stumbled across the Brafferton Inn randomly on the internet, but am I glad that I did! The Brafferton Inn crew (Brian and Joan) were super friendly and welcoming. Our room was very clean and the jacuzzi tub compensated nicely for the cold winds outside. Its location near the town center is perfect and its size is big enough to feel a sense of privacy while small enough to feel intimate. In the morning, Brian displayed excellent skills in the kitchen as he prepared a tasty breakfast and really went out of his way to accommodate my girlfriend (who is vegan). If thinking about a trip to Gettysburg, then definitely check this place out!

My husband and I spent Veteran's Day weekend at the Brafferton Inn. We wanted to sightsee in Gettysburg and found this Inn online. It was AMAZING. We stayed in the Eisenhower Room and it was perfect! A large spacious room with nice bathroom, little kitchen area with my FAVORITE Keurig coffee, window seat, comfy bed, and nice TV. But the best part was the two cozy reading chairs next to the gas fireplace. It was so nice to get up on a chilly November morning, sip coffee by the fire and read a good book until we went down for a scrumptious breakfast. We have never stayed in a B&B with so many choices for breakfast. The location was great for walking to shopping and restaurants and some siteseeing. We also went to a fun play at the historic Majestic theater around the corner. The Innkeeper lent us a driving tour CD of the historic battlefields and we spent a nice afternoon learning and taking photos. We walked to delcious dinners at an Irish Pub and a Historic Tavern. Great location! Fantastic weekend! We will certainly return to the Brafferton Inn!!

My husband and I went to Gettysburg for our late honeymoon this last summer. We wanted to be somewhere where we could park our car and be near everything. The room we had was the Brafferton Suite, it was a great room. It had space to move around and enjoyed the surroundings. The room is on a busy street so you will hear traffic noise but it was still a great room. It was nice to have the parking space also that came with the room because everywhere you go there is metered parking. I would go back to this inn again. Loved the place and people who own/run it.

We're frequent Gettysburg visitors. We've stayed in other places but found that there's none that we prefer more than the Brafferton Inn so now we just go directly there. Every room that we've stayed in is charming and cozy. The beds are super comfortable. It's situated in an area that's convenient to access parking and shopping. Joan and Brian (and the rest of the staff) are so nice and not at all phony. The environment of the Inn is casual and comfortable and always smells like something yummy is baking in the kitchen. The breakfasts are always delicious with enough variety to suit everyone's taste. We consider it our home away from home.

Stayed here after proposing to my now fiancée. The staff was incredibly personable and welcoming. I had mentioned the situation surrounding our visit when making the reservation, and the staff quickly congratulated us once we arrived. We were also on a tight schedule, and Joan let us check in early, which was really helpful. Upon arriving, they gave us a quick but comprehensive tour of the area we were staying. The room itself was gorgeous. (We legitimately took pictures of the bathroom to use as a model for our own.) The bedroom and living room we're spacious. The decor had a antique feel, but it wasn't tacky. The layout of the actual space was actually quite modern, which was nice. Food was all home cooked and delicious. The muffins were out of this world. It is on the pricey side, but well worth every penny. We will definitely be returning.

We stayed for three nights at the Brafferton Inn, and it was a highlight of our trip. The location is perfect, and you are able to walk, or get public transportation to any of the attractions in Gettysburg. The Inn is very charming and the rooms are well appointed, comfortable, and nicely decorated. Breakfast was outstanding, with good selections and delicious food. The afternoon cookies were a real treat, as well. We highly recommend the Brafferton Inn, and hope to return someday.

My husband and I had the pleasure of spending three nights at the Brafferton Inn in late September 2013. We called to see if we could arrive one day early, which Brian graciously arranged. We were in a one bedroom suite with 2 bathrooms the first night! The second and third night we transferred to the Pear Tree, another one bedroom suite with lovely outside private garden. Both rooms had flat screen TVs, fireplaces, were huge and had whirlpool bathtubs, lots of counter space, separate showers. The inn is spotless, located nearly at the center of Gettysburg and within walking distance of everything. The inn owners were very helpful with suggestions of restaurants and things to do in town. Brian's breakfasts were the most impressive, with fresh fruit, fresh baked pastry each morning, and a choice of a breakfast casserole, two different scrambled egg dishes and pancakes or French toast every morning. I highly recommend a long stay at the inn.

Our experience at The Brafferton Inn exceeded our expectations as the setting for three siblings and spouses to reconnect and enjoy the Gettysburg area. We found Joan and Brian to be professional, pleasant, helpful, and willing to answer questions and to give recommendations for a variety of restaurants. The setting in downtown Gettysburg was an added benefit. Breakfasts were delicious with a fresh pastry made by Joan and several savory choices cooked to perfection by Brian each morning. Absolutely, we would recommend The Brafferton to friends who desire first class accommodations in an historic setting.

We stayed here for our 48th. Everything was so wonderful. Very nicely decorated and very clean. Brian & Joan make your stay relaxing and most welcoming . The staff is wonderful and friendly. Breakfast was outstanding. The town is very nice, with wonderful shops and places to eat. We just loved our time there. We will be back again. The Walkers

We stayed at the Brafferton for 2 nights and everything was great. They even let me put my trike in the owners garage. They are close to lots of things to do on foot and the Codori Suite we had was just super. Breakfast both morning was out of this world. We will stay with them again.

Highly recommend this well-situated, impeccably run, wonderfully friendly inn. A beautiful, historic premises is only a small part of the appeal. The mother-son proprietors go out of their way to make your stay memorable and the breakfast is THE BEST I've ever experienced in any B&B (and I travel a lot!) This should definitely be your pick in Gettysburg.

My husband & I, along with my mother, stayed in the Pear Tree Suite for two nights. The suite was very spacious, beautifully decorated and far larger than we had expected. We loved the private entrance with parking and the patio garden was perfect for relaxing. The downtown location gave a true feel of the city and was just steps from the wonderful shops and activities. I was surprised how quiet it was even in downtown. The breakfast selection provided each morning was incredible and absolutely huge. Fresh fruit, pastries, entrées….no one leaves here hungry! Brian and his family were a joy to meet and we will definitely be staying at the Brafferton Inn again.

The owner and his family we super nice , Brain also was considerate to the fact that I was a Afghanistan vet and had medical limitations. Thanks Brain we plan to return

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The lovely decorated rooms were quiet, immaculately clean and the breakfasts were delicious. Brian and Joan are proud owners of a centrally located B&B in Gettysburg. JUST GO! You will not be disappointed.

The staff is friendly and attentive, our room was beautiful and spotless, and the breakfast was consistently delicious. I can't praise The Brafferton enough. It is the only place I'll stay when I return to Gettysburg.

We came for bike week the second weekend in July. All the other hotels had risen the rates sky high for the reenactment and the events going on. We found such a deal in the Brafferton Inn. We had a lovely suite all to ourselves in the loft. My husband and I enjoyed the homey feel with fresh coffee any time of the day, an outstanding breakfast and our room was more than we had ever expected. We will definitely be back again maybe this winter to see more of the town and sight see!
Thank you so much for your review. We are so happy that you had a good time here, and we look forward to hosting you again in the future!

This was our third stay in the past seven years. As always the innkeepers were friendly and helpful. Making dinner reservations and letting us borrow their battlefield audio guide. They have updated their rooms to suites which works wonderfully for family vacations, the Getty Suite was a perfect fit for us.

Stayed 4 nights during the Gettysburg 150th Anniversary. They raised their normal rates a bit, but not horribly much as some other facilities did. Room was very nice (Deck Suite), we looked into some others that looked good as well. One thing to highlight, the breakfast was wonderful! Well organized and served, with gourmet-quality food. In an interesting note for a place that is going for an upscale presentation, they only had one-ply toilet paper. Rougher than we expected, but they said it was due to the age of their plumbing. :)
Thank you for your review. We really had a great time getting to know you, and are very happy you enjoyed your stay and our breakfasts. A note on toilet paper: our pipes and plumbing are very old, and unfortunately we have had major issues mainly due to guests flushing things down the toilets that should not be flushed. Plumbers have repeatedly told us to use thinner toilet paper that will disintegrate. One of the downfalls of an old house.

We probably didn't pick the best time to make our first trip to Gettysburg being over the July 4th holiday on the 150th anniversary of the battle. While we enjoyed staying at The Brafferton Inn we did have a few concerns. Here are the pros and cons. Pros: beautiful well maintained historic building, rooms were clean, staff was accommodating, convenient location, good breakfast, health conscience menu, nice deck and several nice peaceful locations around the grounds to relax, good security. Cons: we stayed in the North Suite which is located in the back of the building up many narrow stairs outside. Thank goodness we brought a small cooler, for we would have never gotten the big one to our room. Again the stairs lugging a big heavy suitcase was difficult. WIFI was only available in the small lobby area, but the electrical outlets were not compatible with a grounded plug, so no way of having your laptop on charge while online. The lobby was kept very warm: even though I love warm weather and keep my house 78 degrees year around, it was hot and stuffy in the lobby. Overall, it was a good stay and it is difficult to compare a stay on the road to the convenience of home. I would rate our stay an 8 of 10, with 10 being the best.

Our first trip to Gettysburg was made even better by our luck of finding the Brafferton. Right where you want to be in such a historical town. The inn is very comfortable, food delicious and the innkeepers very professional. We love staying at B&B's and this one is ideal.
Thank you so much for your kind review. We had a great time getting to meet you and hope to host you again in the future!

The room was beautiful and romantic! Just what I would want when going to Gettysburg and being dressed period style. The bathroom was perfect for us (even though it was across the hall) The food defies description! Brian was ready and able to cater to my vegetarian needs, and Joan always had cookies waiting at the end of the day. The other guest are as gracious as our hosts and the mood was peaceful. I will always stay at the Brafferton. Can't wait til next time!! Joy Perrin

We have stayed at The Brafferton Inn three times in the last six years and we absolutely love it! The rooms are clean and exceptionally comfortable. The breakfast is outstanding and the owners are like family to us. You will be welcome with open arms. The location of The Brafferton Inn is ideal, if you have a choice to make you should without question stay here!

I would definitely recommend this B&B for anyone looking for a quiet, relaxing getaway. There are many rooms here, yet I felt like we were the only guests; it has a great small-town atmosphere. We stayed in the North Suite. It was very private and overlooked the garden in the back. The staff was warm and friendly, the room was clean and looked just like it did in the pictures. The food was delicious, and the inn is within walking distance from downtown Gettysburg. It was worth every penny we spent for one night. My only regret is that we couldn't be there longer!
Thank you so much! We are so glad you enjoyed your room, our garden, and our breakfast! Maybe next time you can stay a little longer!

My husband and I was celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary. It was our first time ever staying in a BB so we didn't know what to expect. We loved it the charm of being in one of the oldest buildings in Gettysburg, thought we would mind no tv but we didn't miss it. Loved being only 1/2 block from square. They even offered to feed the parking meter at 8 AM for us so we wouldn't get a ticket. Everyone was very friendly, breakfast was so good and a lot of choices. Would go back another time

Stayed at Brafferton this past weekend and loved it! The food was especially memorable...the chef had 3-4 choices of breakfast entries and at least one was vegetarian (which we are). Usually wanted more than one of the choices! We stayed in the Brafferton Suite and the only complaint I had was that it was right on the street and it was pretty noisy with trucks, motorcycles, etc. So if you stay there in that room or others right on the street, bring a white noise machine or earplugs. The Inn is very conveniently located near tourist attractions, the college where we were attending a reunion, and restaurants. Would definitely stay there again!

We arrived on Thursday afternoon and had a wonderful welcome and tour to explain the inn to us. This is the only B&B we have ever stayed at the offers choices for breakfast other than cereal or muffins. The choices are really hard to decide - they all sounded amazing. Every day the meal was out of this world. Joan, Brian and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. We were given great choices of places to dine and all were great. We will be returning.

We visited Gettysburg for the first time and stayed at the Brafferton in the pear tree suite. Gettysburg is beautiful and The Brafferton was perfect from check in to check out. The suite was comfy, clean and beautiful. The breakfast was scrumptious! We will definitely be going back to Gettysburg and staying at the Brafferton! They have set the standards high for all B&B's!

We had to reschedule our trip to Gettysburg from last Fall. The innkeeper was most accommodating, and we arrived on our new day we were welcomed with open arms. The innkeeper even asked how my wife's recovery was progressing. How very thoughtful! She even upgraded us to the Lincoln Suite. The breakfast was beyond compare. This is the place to say in Gettysburg without a doubt!

I have stayed at the Brafferton many times and the one thing that impresses me is their excellence. Every trip is wonderful from the greeting I receive, to the room I stay in, to the fantastic breakfast in the morning. There are many places in Gettysburg to stay, but I can't find a reason to go elsewhere. It is in a perfect location too. Each time I visit they have made improvements and upgrades and I am looking forward to my next visit. Thank you Joan and Brian!

We recently celebrated our 36th wedding anniversary at the Brafferton Inn. The room was spacious and nicely appointed. Breakfast each morning was a delight. We were greeted warmly and taken great care of. We enjoyed the Inn's close proximity to downtown and Gettysburg Battlefield. We will stay again.
5 on March 17, 2013
After much research into different B&B's in the area we decided on 2. After talking with each of the places on the phone we decided to stay at the Brafferton. I could not have been any more happier staying any place else. Brian, his family and everybody else made our stay one we will never forget. We stayed from March 10 - 15th. We were greeted the moment we parked the car and was offered help with our luggage. We were upgraded to a bigger room without extra cost. The room itself was outstanding. Fireplace, large sitting area, balcony, and 2 person jacuzzi. The perfect place to stay. Staff we wonderful in helping plan our visitation sites and offering other areas of interest. The food was fabulous. I had to buy the cookbook to get some of the recipes. There were only two downsides I could find and they were pretty minor. There is no wifi in the buildings of the B&B outside the main building and the other is the parking. We were lucky enough to have a private parking place at the B&B but if you don't get those particular rooms there is a parking garage directly behind the B&B. Overall, we had a fantastic stay during spring break and if we are able to return to this area we will definitely be staying at the Brafferton Inn again. Brian, Joan and all - thank you for a wonderful stay.

We have stayed at the Brafferton Inn a few times and loved it but this visit was very special to us. We rented the Old Orchard House and got married in the cozy parlor with our closest family as guests. The house was very comfortable and Brian and Joan did everything they could to make our special day perfect.

Little late posting as we stayed in Mid-January, but no less enthusistic. We have stayed there before and will do so again. It's exactly what a BB should be, quaint, quiet and comfortable. The staff go out of their way to help, the breakfasts are home cooked and mouth watering. The rooms are delightful and comfortable. The sitting rooms are perfect for relaxing. Thanks again to the staff for another wonderful time.

Helpfull & caring innkeepers, delicious food & friendly guest make this a wonderful, historic place to stay. We loved our suite with gas fireplace & TV for time away from touring the chilly battleground & town in February. We will recommend this B&B to our friends. Looking forward to a return trip!

I took my girlfriend here for valentines day weekend and we were both really impressed at how great our stay was. The staff was incredibly friendly, the room was spacious and clean, and the breakfast was delicious! Located right next to the downtown roundabout, it's pretty perfect. A bit pricey but I would certainly consider going back.

Outstanding for what it is - a historic country inn. Extremely comfortable quarters. We enjoyed the small sitting room adjoining our bedroom. Very clean. The breakfast was great and included four or five choices. We especially appreciated the delicious home made cookies in the afternoon. Can't beat the location.

My wife and I stayed at the Codori Suite for a weekend & I honestly cant think of anything that could have made our stay any more enjoyable ! The Inn sits at a perfect location for dinning, shopping, & all the fun things that downtown Gettysburg has to offer. The room is amazing ! The entire Inn has all the vintage charm that an 18th century home should, but all the modern accommodations that make a 3 day 2 night stay pleasant. Everything from the furniture, to the lighting, the K-Cup coffee selection, even the bedding was an A+ ! The building has fantastic history, as Brian pointed out that it's one of the oldest buildings in Gettysburg. The breakfast is top-notch, consisting of several courses, amazing food & a pleasant dinning atmosphere. Lastly, Brian, Joan, and the staff at the Inn were great, very outgoing, always there to serve, but hardly noticable. I found Brian to be particular engaging & a pleasure to chat with. Can't wait untill our next get-away to the Brafferton, a first class establishment from top to bottom !

My husband and stayed in the battle room for a night last weekend and had a wonderful time. The staff was friendly and the room was wonderful. The bed was comfortable and the bedroom was beautifully decorated. The battle room was one of the less costly rooms so it didn't have a jetted tub or fireplace, which was fine considering the low price and that we were only there one night. Our bathroom was a little on the worn side and didn't really match up to the greatness of the bedroom. The bathroom was a little worn and had some water stains on the lower section of the walls. However, that was just one small note because everything else was fantastic and well worth the cost! I've read some complaints about the parking, but it didn't bother us one bit, our spot ended up being free and if u did need to pay to park it's not very much at all. Great place! Would highly recommend this b&b to anyone interested in a relaxing weekend. We're definitely coming back!

My husband and I stayed at the Brafferton Inn in the Brafferton Suite and were so pleased with our stay. The staff and owners were so curteous and kind. Our room was beautiful and so clean and tidy. Breakfast was served right on schedule and absolutely delicious. Joan's pastries are phenominal!! You are given a choice of two to three entrees...you will really struggle to choose one because they all sound delicious. The personal touches are great, such as freshly baked cookies any time after 3:00pm and coffee any time of the day or night. I will definitely be staying here again and highly recommend it for your next trip to Gettysburg!

The innkeepers were very friendly and welcoming - made you feel right at home. The building itself is in keeping with the historic era and was quaint and cozy. I didn't much care for the incense or candle that fills the main space, but overall it was a very pleasant stay. Note that there are no TV's in the rooms which is a nice reprieve from normal life, but I thought it would be even nicer if they had a card table or cozy nook downstairs and offered some puzzles, board games or playing cards for guests to use during down time. The serve yourself tea and coffee setup and afternoon cookies were a great added amenity that we enjoyed. But the morning breakfasts were this inn's best comfort - nothing like home cooking and fresh juice to get your day going! We would recommend this inn to friends and family.
Thank you for your review of our inn. Just a few notes. We do not burn candles or use incense, so we are not quite sure what this guest is talking about as far as smells in our parlor area. And only three of our guest rooms do not have televisions, as they are period rooms from 1786. We are so glad these guests enjoyed our breakfast! We truly enjoy cooking a variety of different and unique hearty breakfasts to start our guests mornings!

We stayed at the Brafferton Inn last Friday night when we went to Gettysburg to see a show at the Majestic theatre and were very pleasantly surprised at the overall stay at there. From the one doorway on the main York St., Route 30, you get overwhelmed when you enter that doorway. The owner greeted us immediately and her assistant showed us through the facility which is awsome. They immediately provided us with all the information that we could want for that area. At 4 p.m., there were delicious cookies available and we were given dinner recommendations. Another owner greeted us so we knew we were in great hands. The Lincoln suite with its own air control and incredible 5 faucet shower was large, immaculate and very accommodating. The culminating experience was a three entree choice for breakfast all of which was sumptuous. We definitely will return to the Brafferton Inn in the spring of 2013 and recommend it highly for anyone who visits Gettysburg. With all their rooms, there is definitely one for all tastes and desires.

Dorothy's Hideaway has everything you need in a room for a weekend getaway including a superb bed and Jacuzzi tub. The inn is lovely, well-maintained and convenient to the area's attractions. Joan, Brian and the rest of the staff were uniformly cordial and helpful with information on dining options. Excellent breakfasts with a variety of options. We visited in mid-December, but the Brafferton seems like it would be splendid at any time of the year. Would definitely return.

Wonderful! We stayed at the Brafferton Inn's Old Orchard Guest House on November 17-18, 2012. Outstanding accommodations, impeccably clean, and the staff were attentive and easy to work with. The gardens were beautiful and serene. We will definitely be staying here again.

We have been coming to the Brafferton even before Brian and Joan bought the inn, and each time we stay there, we are amazed and delighted at all the nice extras and rooms they have added! In my opinion, the Brafferton's Codori Suite and Pear Tree Suite are the two best rooms in Gettysburg...and absolutely NOTHING beats the wonderful breakfasts the Hodges' cook up each each morning! Looking forward to going back in the near future and see what else they have added!

A friend had recommended the Brafferton Inn to me for a girls getaway weekend and I was extremely pleased with the B&B. We stayed in the Codori Suite and it exceeded my expectations. It had all the comforts of a modern day place with the charm of a historic building. Everything was extremely clean and tidy and we were lacking nothing in our room. The service was superb and I can't stop talking about how wonderful breakfast was. I would highly recommend this B&B to others!!

My husband and I stayed in the Codori Suite October 22-24. This was our first trip alone without the kids since our honeymoon 7 years ago. We had an amazing time!!! The Brafferton Inn was so lovely and the Cordori Suite was very romantic! The staff was very courtious and helpful, they met all of our every needs. The suite was very clean and well appointed. We loved having our own jacuzzi tub, spa shower, private parking space, coffee Keurig and a livingroom with a TV and fireplace. The Inn was very conveniently located downtown in walking distance of shops, restuaunts and attractions. The food was amazing, especially the breakfast muffins. We actually bought one of their cookbooks so we could make the muffins ourself. We definitely will go back to Gettysburg again. We will stay at the Brafferton Inn and in the Cordori Suite again. We would like to thank the staff at the Brafferton Inn for making our first trip to Gettysburg a very memerable and special one. We will be sure to recommend you to our family and friends. This is a very charming inn close to downtown shops and restaurants in Gettysburg. One of the amenities listed is WiFI, but this is only available in the lobby and rooms in the main building. We stayed in a room over a shop that did not have WiFi, but didn't know that before arrival. We had a wonderful visit; comfortable beds, very clean rooms every day. Nice owners.

We just stayed at the Brafferton for the second time in the Pear Tree Suite. What a comfortable, large and well-appointed space. Large king-sized bed in living room area, with small kitchen which included a refrigerator, microwave and Kurig coffee maker. There was also a gas fireplace, and flat-screen TV. Adjacent was a dining area with table and chairs and separate bedroom with daybed and another smaller flat-screen TV. The bathroom was huge with two sinks, robes, spa shower and tub. There is a gated patio which makes for a nice, relaxing cup of coffee or tea in the morning or drinks later in the day, weather permitting. One of the best amenities is you have your own parking space in the back. No worries about finding a parking spot on the street or in the garage which makes for easy access. Plus, no stairs to climb if that's an issue. We can't say enough how scrumptious the breakfasts were! Best ever we've had at any B&B in G'burg. Many choices ranging from egg casseroles to stiffed French toast, pancakes or delicious scrambled eggs, all served with juice, coffee, fresh fruit and a fantastic baked muffin. Believe me, you won't need to eat lunch. Coffee is also served in the waiting area and in the afternoon with fresh-baked cookies. The owners are always friendly and accommodating, and if you're a repeat customer, they give you a discount. As many times as we come to G'burg and stayed at many B&Bs, we decided this is the one we'll be booking from now on. Their other rooms are great, too! It's a wonderful historic inn, I believe the oldest, which is what we like.

Our stay at the Inn was very nice and the inkeepers were very curteous. Breakfast was phenomenal (especially the lemon poppyseed puff pastries). However, my only complaint is about the menus that the Inn has for local restaurants. We picked two restaurants to go to based on the menus that we saw at the Inn, and at both places the menus were different and VERY dissapointing. I would recommend for them to get copies of the current menus.

My Mother, two sisters and myself enjoyed four nights in the Gettys Suite! We were all surprised how roomy this suite was and each time we returned it was like entering our own apartment. My older sister remarked that this room just seemed to fit us like no other. Having our own private parking spot to use was another plus. The breakfasts each morning were tasty and something to look forward to. It was wonderful to be given such a selection of choice so there was something for everyone. Even though the dining room is small it has a quaint atmosphere. Sad to say there were two drawbacks for us. The first is the step leading in to the Gettys Suite. My Mother and sister are both in their eighties so it was very hard on them while entering and leaving our suite. The other thing is the noisiness of the pipes in the bedroom with the twin beds. The clicking through the night and early morning is disturbing but we realize this is a historic building. Even with all that we hope to return next year God willing. The Brafferton is very clean and the location is just right. Thank you once again to the owners and staff!

We stayed in the Dorothy room which is in a building a few doors down from the main inn. The room was nicely appointed, private & spacious. However, was disappointed when we saw the porch was facing the side of another building. We were also surprised to find the windows only had think white curtains for privacy in lieu of shades. The breakfast were outstanding and sell the inn day after day. The pastries are out of this world and the main dish selections are mouthwatering. Between the prime downtown location, and the breakfast this is the perfect stay.

If I could give the Brafferton Inn more than 5 stars on Dining I would. Breakfast was more than excellent on all counts (taste, variety, and portion). The Inn itself is beautiful inside and out and the staff was wonderful. It would be nice if the Inn had private parking, but you're not going to find that anywhere in downtown Gettysburg, especially with this location (walking distance to everything in town, including the battlefields and college.) Plus, there's a parking garage within a few feet of the Inn, so you really can't complain. We loved our stay there and would absolutely stay again.

What a great place to stay. We had a Sat and Sun night reservation. We were greeted immediately and shown around the house and to our rooms. The room was just right, we stayed in the Loft Suite. I need to mention that the breakfasts were out of this world. Always had four choices when it came to the main meal. All of which were as good as the one you picked. Highly recommend to all.

I had been wanting to see the Gettysburg battlefield site and other Civil War areas for the past 20 years. I finally decided it was time to do it, with my husband finally agreeing to get off the golf course and accompany me. I researched different places to stay for our 9-day trip and picked three in different places in Pennslyvania and Marlyand. Of the three, hands down, the Brafferton was the best! We stayed in the Gettys Suite. It was decorated beautifully, located in the rear portion of the inn (nice and quiet), and was very cozy and inviting. Brian and Joan couldn't have been any nicer or accomodating. They directed us to eating locations for dinner, supermarkets, and even scheduled a day trip to Washington DC for us. Breakfasts were out of this world, and Joan is the greatest baker on earth. Thankfully, we walked all around the battlefield in order to work off the meals. We had to meet the bus for the Washington DC trip very early in the morning, so they provided a bagged breakfast! We can't convey in words what a great time we had. We strongly recommend this inn for anyone who wants to experience what a historical bed and breakfast is all about!

I took my husband to the Brafferton for his 50th Birthday. This was our 3rd stay in this Bed & Breakfast. First time we stayed in the Lincoln Suite which was very nice and big. Our last 2 times we stayed in the Codori Suite which is just gorgeous! The Innkeepers are just so nice and so accommodating. For my husband's birthday weekend I decided to have them add a birthday cake, chocolate covered strawberries, wine and cheese/crackers to our room. The spread they put out was nothing like I could have imagined. Everything was so perfect and delicious!!!! They really did an excellent job in making our weekend and his birthday so special. This is one Gem of a Bed & Breakfast and speaking of Breakfast.........YUM........that about sums it up. We will go back as often as we can !

My husband and I traveled with our daughter and her friend (13 yr olds) over labor day weekened. We stayed in the Pear Tree suite which was perfect for our family! We were first greeted by Brian who gave us a tour of the Inn and informed us that he was baking fresh cookies (these quickly became a favorite of the girls). The Suite was beautiful, clean and very comfortable! The girls called the sheets "amazing" and loved the spacious bathroom and the seperate room with twin bed and trundle pull out. Breakfast were fantastic as well, each morning we had a choice of 4 different breakfasts as well as fresh fruit and homeade pasteries. We would certainly recommend this B&B and would certainly return! Thank you for a lovely weekend! The Howards

What an excellent B&B! Our room was clean and the staff was VERY courteous. Breakfast was excellent. The fact that we stayed in the oldest building in Gettysburg was special too. We will be back.

I arrived at the Brafferton Inn and was given a tour of the beautiful 18th century B & B and explained the parking and the different options available. I was then shown to my lodgings, located above a shop. I had my own entrance on York street, just a few blocks from Lincoln Square. My room had a charming sitting area over looking York street, and a bathtub with jets -like a whirlpool. The bathroom window was covered with a blind, and I would have felt more comfortable with half shutters, since it faced another window. My children had ordered gifts- which the Inn placed in my rooms and provided the necessary items to enjoy these gifts. Any reservations needed they offered to make for me. My first morning I had an appointment, missing my breakfast and was offered a take away breakfast. I found the tables in the dining area were set up for each guest. I had my own table situated nicely and already laden with a small bowl of fresh cut up fruit and a homemade muffin. The chef would offer 3 choices for our entree-It was luxury. Recommend by the B&B was the Shriver home museum offering the civilian's point of view during the great battle of July 1,2 & 3 of 1863. Each day my room was freshened up and each night I slept soundly under the soft covers as the A/C kept the room at a perfect temperature. I truly enjoyed my stay, and any questions I had or directions would be quickly answered. Important to know since it can be easily missed- is the parking is the responsibility of the guest since there is limited parking-but if you need quarters, the Inn can exchange your bills for quarters. One other note- the Inn was up front with the charges- and I inquired about AAA and they accepted it- I liked receiving emails concerning the needed deposit- and close to my trip what my balance was-no hidden charges. . From the start we felt right at home. We stayed in the Codori Suite which was very spacious, clean and decorated very nicely. We were at street level in the front and had private parking included with the room. The breakfast was outstanding both mornings during our stay. Joan and Brian provided us with a wonderful experience and we hope to return soon! Thank you so very much! Harry & Sue

My husband and I just stayed here last weekend in the Battle Room. The staff are exceedingly friendly and helpful, the Inn is very well maintained especially considering it was the first deeded house in Gettysburg. And the included breakfast was AMAZING! They essentially provide you with a freshly cooked 3 course meal! You will NOT be disappointed after your stay here!

We just finished our second stay at the Brafferton, this time in the Brafferton Suite. We couldn't be happier. Great big room, great big bed, great big breakfast, and great big hospitality. We'll be back for Valentine's Day -- in fact, we've already booked our room!

We hadn't been to Gettysburg or the Brafferton since the late 1980's and we were pleasantly surprised on all counts. The Brafferton was actually nicer and the breakfasts better than we had remembered. Joan and Brian were very cordial and helpful hosts - thanks for the tip on Thymes Remembered. The breakfasts were just delicious. The Brafferton is truly an icon of Gettysburg - if you love historic buildings, comfort, and great food this is the B&B to stay at. Larry & JoAnn

My mother and I decided to take a weekend trip to Gettysburg...just her and I and without my kids. It was a much needed trip away to relax and take in the history and sights. The Brafferton is beautiful! Our room, the garden room, was perfect. It was clean, comfortable, and the garden theme gave off a refreshing vibe. Our breakfasts were delicious! The fresh fruit and homemade muffins were so good! They were also accomodating when I asked for plain french toast instead of french toast with raspberry filling. :) Overall, our stay was wonderful. We had a great trip and would definitely recommend the Brafferton Inn!
Thank you for your kind review. We had a wonderful time meeting you and your Mother. We hope to host you again sometime again in the future!

This was our first stay at the Brafferton and we were very pleased. The Gettys Suite was perfect for our family of four. The suite was very clean and comfortable. We appreciated that a parking spot was included with this suite so we didn't have to worry about where we were going to park. The best part of our stay were the breakfasts--they were outstanding! The food and service were superb. We will definitely stay at the Brafferton again if our travels take us back to Gettysburg.
Thank you so much for your review. It was wonderful getting to meet you and your family. The Gettys Suite is perfect for families or couples to use when visiting Gettysburg. Our breakfasts are a big part of what we enjoy, and we always try to serve some unique dishes. Hope to host you again soon!

This was the second stay at the Brafferton Inn in the Pear Tree Suite for my husband and myself. We absolutely adore the Bed and Breakfast! The room was exceptionally clean and the bed is absolute heaven! The breakfast, especially the pastries, is devine, and the staff is so friendly it is like being home away from home. My husband and I plan to visit Gettysburg on a regular basis and we plan to stay at the Brafferton each time. I cannot imagine staying anywhere else. We have only wonderful things to say about this Inn and always recommend it to friends!
Thank you so much for visiting us again! The Pear Tree Suite has been a big hit since we renovated the room a couple of years ago. The bed is very comfortable! Also, or breakfast pastries have been our most requested recipes over the years. We are still trying to come up with new flavor combinations. Thanks again!

A wonderful place to stay in Gettysburg. Right on the square and within walking distance of many shops and the battlefield. The owners are excellent host. We have stayed here twice and will be back.
Thank you for your review. One of the best parts of our inn is the location in the center of downtown Gettysburg. Everything is within walking distance! Just park your car and walk to all the downtown shops and restaurants. We hope to see you again soon!

We wanted to relax in a quiet and lovely spot. Even in the middle of town with thousands of bikers around, that is what happened. The all-inclusive package allowed us to just enjoy everything without having to figure it out. We'd do it again in a moment and probably will. Thank you Brafferton Inn for a wonderful getaway!

This is the second time that we stayed at the Brafferton Inn and the innkeepers could not have been nicer, but we were disappointed that we could not enjoy our breakfast outdoors on the patio as we did last year. We were also surprised the there was only one table that could seat 4 people and on our second day could not be seated with the couple we were traveling with.
It was wonderful to see you and your friends again here for the annual bike weekend. As far as breakfast, we generally do not serve outside when temps are 90+ degrees, and since we were in the middle of a huge east coast heatwave, did not feel is was appropriate. Our dining room inside is very quaint, since it is the originally dining room of the house. We do have six tables, most set up for two and one set up for four. If there are different families of four traveling here at the house, if is just not physically possable for everyone to sit together. It must be noted that you did sit together for breakfast on your first breakfast. Thanks again!

Wonderful property with friendly staff, knowledgeable about the area and breakfast was worth getting up for. The muffins were the best I may have ever had, especially the lemon poppy seed encrusted! Mattresses were not up to the quality of the rest of the property, but were not bad either. We would stay there again in a heartbeat, and highly recommend it!
Thank you so much for your review. Our lemon poppy seed puffs have been our most requested recipe throughout the years. Can you also please contact me directly to let me know which room you stayed in so the mattress can be checked. Obviously a comfortable night's sleep is of utmost importance to us. Thank You

Everything was great - from the orientation given by our host, Joan, to the hearty breakfast served in the morning. We stayed in the loft suite which was two bedrooms and 1 bathroom. It was extremely roomy and even included a small fridge. The location can't be beat for walking around town. It is in the center of everything. The only negative would be that the bed wasn't super comfortable - but that is really a personal thing.

This is our second visit to Gettysburg and of course we stayed at the Brafferton Inn... This time it was our 15 year Anniversary and we choose to do the Pear Tree Suite... WOW!!!! What a GREAT room... separate parking area, private garden area, wonderful shower, jacuzzi tub, clean clean clean, Keurig coffee maker, fridge, very comfortable bed, 1/2 a block from the town circle where you'll find almost everything you need, an ice scream shop across the street too cool off and Lincoln Dinner 1.5 blocks away for a 24 hour snack attack! Breakfast was on it's own level of greatness! Absolutely perfect breakfast to get your day started and gourmet to the max... Foodies you'll love this place! The owners were attentive and remembered us, even after 5 years! I HIGHLY recommend this place! A+++ :-)

Spent two nights in the Getty's Suite. This is a full service two bedroom suite in which one could essentially live permanently. Can't imagine a nicer place to stay while in Gettysburg. Great property full of history. Incredible breakfast each morning and fresh cookies when we returned from the Battlefield. Great location and the inn is very well run and maintained. Hope to return when we can. A highlight of our trip. ~California Family

Our three days in Gettysburg were memorable because we had the Inn to return to each evening. The ambience is beautiful and well-cared for. The breakfasts are truly gourmet and kept us going well into the afternoon touring the battlefield. The interiors are welcoming and very tasteful and the diningroom's painted walls, and pretty placesettings are unusually creative. The Hodges attend to every detail with care and love. See you again, Kathy & Harry

My wife and I stayed here on a trip south from New England. I had researched several different inns but the age and history made this one the most appealing. Our stay was great and the room was huge and comfortable (we were upgraded to the Lincoln Suite). If was clean and we were allowed to keep our bike in their Garage for the evening. The breakfast was very good as well with several options to choose from (which is not always typical in a B & B), so that was a nice change. The staff was helpful and welcoming. My only complaint with my stay was this: When I booked the room, I had originally wanted the loft room, it seemed very unique and was part of the original home. It was not available, so I took the Olde Master room. It was not as expensive and was still part of the original home. I made a comment when I booked the room, that if, for some reason the loft became available, that I would like that room instead. I did not ask for an upgrade. When I checked in, they mentioned that I was able to be upgraded, but not to the loft, to the Lincoln Suite. They did not mention any added expense. After working in the travel industry, I took this to mean that a better room was available and I could take it. When I checked I out I was under the impression that I had the balance for the romance package I requested. I was then told that that did not include the cost of the upgrade. The added cost was not relayed to me when I checked in. It should have been. As I mentioned, I asked for the loft, if available, not a suite. I did not argue and the suite was a very nice room, but it was almost 100 extra dollars I did not plan on spending, unless for the loft. Overall I liked the inn and my wife and I enjoyed our stay, but I should have been told about the added expense of the new room.

Was greeted by a drill sargent. Absolutlely no warmth was displayed. Was barked at and told the rules of the house. Parking was extremely confusing. Once I got to my room I found out that the bathroom was across the hall and they were" kind enough to provide me a robe" The web site was very misleading in that the clear implication was that the room had a private bath. I would have chosen another room if I would have known the bathroom situation. Was too tired to argue and did not want to deal with the drill sargent. In travelling around the city noticed many other B&B's. I am positive that one could do much better. Unless you yearn to be in the army and barked at like a private avoid this place.
I am so sorry this guest was unhappy with his/her experience here at the Brafferton Inn. We take great pride in providing a comfortable and friendly experience here at our inn, as our other reviews state. We certainly try not to bark orders at our guests at check in time, but guests do need to know how to get in and out of the house, and where we serve breakfast etc. As far as our rooms, we do provide 17 different types of rooms, ranging from older 1786 bedrooms, to luxury suites with Jacuzzi tubs and gas fireplaces. This guest chose a bedroom in our 1786 house that clearly states on our website that the bathroom is across the hall and is private to this room. This is the only room in our entire complex that does not have the bathroom inside the room. We could certainly have moved this guest to another room if they were that unhappy. Please remember to read all reviews posted here on bedandbreakfast.com to get a feel for what we truly do offer as a guest experience. Thank You

My niece and I recently stayed at The Brafferton Inn and our visit was wonderful. Joan and Brian make you feel at home. We stayed in the Pear Tree Suite which has its own private courtyard. The suite was spacious, beautiful and very charming. Our breakfast choices each morning were wonderful. The meals were generous as well as delicious. Joan was very helpful in recommending local restaurants for lunch and dinner. We were not disappointed with her recommendations. We asked Joan where she buys her flowers and plants and she shared this information with us as well. When we left Gettysburg, our car was full of local art work, gifts as well as trees and plants! Gettysburg is one of our favorite stops not only for the history but also for the friendliness shown by all we met. Our stay at The Brafferton made our visit extra special. Joan and Brian we thank you for your hospitality. Gettyburg, we thank you for a wonderful stay. We can't wait to visit again.

The Brafferton .... what can we say .... we LOVE this beautiful Inn! We have stayed here on several occasions over the past few years and we can't get enough time spent at this quiet & charming retreat in historic Gettysburg. The suites and rooms are perfectly appointed (we have stayed in a variety of each) and offer complete comfort & relaxation after a day of sightseeing or shopping. They have managed the perfect mix of modern day luxury (spa showers, jacuzzi baths, flat-screen tv, etc) while keeping with the look and feel of being in a historic home. A great night's sleep is followed by a gourmet breakfast - complete with homemade pastries that are to die for! If we could sneak extra, we would! If you have questions about tours, dining, shopping etc - just ask Joan, Brian or AmyBeth - they are gracious and accommodating when it comes to the needs of their guests and have a wealth of knowledge about the community. The only downside to the visit is that you do eventually have to check-out. If you haven't had the opportunity to stay at the Brafferton, try it - we guarantee you won't be disappointed. We look forward to returning this summer! The Schlegels
Thank you so much. We look forward to hosting you again soon!

My boyfriend and I were looking for a weekend getaway from the DC area, so on a whim I booked us the Brafferton Suite and was not disappointed. From the moment we checked in, everyone was friendly and helpful. Our suite was absolutely beautiful. Between the enormous. comfortable king bed, fireplace, Jacuzzi for two, and Keurig machine in our room, we experienced the perfect space to relax and recharge. We were not located in the main house, and so there was no noise from neighbors. Both breakfasts were incredible. The owners cook completely different menus every morning and offer fresh fruit and scrumptious pastries in addition to the main dish. Gettysburg itself is a very friendly town where the local shop and restaurant owners treat you like friends rather than strangers. When you're done shopping and dining. I recommend touring the battlefield. It is a truly humbling experience. If you run out of places to visit in Gettysburg proper, there are several wineries and vineyards in the area. It's only a 45 minute drive from Hershey and Indian Echo Caverns (both are really cool places to visit!), and about an hour from the Turkey Hill Ice cream factory. I would rate the overall experience higher than Outstanding if I could. I highly recommend this Inn and will be returning regularly!
Thank you for your kind review. We hope to host you again soon!

The accommodations at this Inn were superb. The innkeepers were extremely gracious and friendly, real down to earth folks, not stuffy. The breakfasts were not our usual morning fare, very unique and delicious. The staff was also very accommodating, willing to offer suggestions in regard to the most interesting places to visit since our stay was only two days. The rooms and bathrooms were immaculately clean, and the decor and furniture were tasteful and appropriate to the Civil War era. Besides the Battlefield, there are many more interesting and historic sites to visit in this Civil War town. Great shopping, antiquing, great restaurants and also plenty of ghost sighting tours. There certainly is enough tourist attractions year round. My husband and I will be back next year to continue on! Thanks again Brian and Joan. FRD

So much to love at this historic B&B! The Codori Suite in which we stayed was a great combination of historic beauty and modern amenities - plenty of hot water, adjustable room heating and cooling that work right away, flat screen tv with cable above the fireplace - don't have to use it if you don't want to but nice to have it there. Excellent breakfasts. We LOVED having our own parking spot and also enjoyed being right downtown near so many eateries, shops, and entertainment. The inkeepers were very hospitable, responsive, and helpful, especially with making dinner reservations and clueing us in on interesting events. Great experience! We'll be staying there again!

I had the good fortune of staying at this charming Inn. The Codori Suite is beautiful with a lovely sitting room where I enjoyed watching TV on a large screen. The two bathrooms are "over the top." The king-size bed was dressed in fine linens. The Innkeepers and staff are welcoming and friendly. Breakfast each morning was a treat as I was served my choice of three delicious selections. I was spoiled and can't wait to go back. The Inn is also located right downtown so it if very convenient. I recommend it.

What a pleasant way to experience Gettysburg, PA. The innkeeper Joan, made sure we had all the tools we needed to explore Gettysburg. Maps, tours, places to eat and explore. She answered all our of our questions. We loved our room, which was delightfuly decorated. We especially enjoyed the air conditioning with the heat wave. Breakfast was a complete surprise. This was our first time at a bed and breakfast and we were pleasantly surprised. Our suite was very comfortable, roomy and docorated according to what we would have expected for a civil war town. Any requests we made of the innkeepers were immediately met and always with a smile. They were very accomodating and had great suggestions for us as to where to go and what to do. The next time we travel to Gettysburg, we will not hesitate to book a room at the Brafferton Inn.

We couldn’t have been happier with our stay at the Brafferton. It was beautifully maintained. The staff was friendly and helpful but not overbearing. They gave great suggestions for local activities. We had requested their All Inclusive Package, and when we arrived everything was set up just as they said it would be. We enjoyed two wonderful dinners at the restaurants they chose for us, and found the audio cd's they loaned us to be an informative guide for our auto tour of the Gettysburg Battlefield. Our room (Garden Room) was beautifully decorated and immaculately clean. The only thing we felt could have improved the room was the addition of a mini-fridge. Other than that, the room exceeded our expectations and we loved spending time there. The breakfasts at the inn were delicious and efficiently served. We had the option of 3 seating times each day. When we arrived at the dining room each morning, breakfast was served right on time. We were greeted with dishes of fresh fruit, glasses of orange juice, and freshly baked pastries that were probably the highlight of the meals. We were then given a choice of three entrees each day. Every entree we chose was delicious and perfectly portioned. The inn is conveniently located in town. It is surrounded by quaint shops and plenty of eateries within 1 to 2 blocks, and is within 5 to 10 minute driving time of the battlefield visitors center. The only drawback to the stay was that there is no reserved off-street parking for guests. Directly behind the inn is a row of metered off-street spots and a parking garage, and the location of those is convenient. However, the metered spots fill up fast in the evening (they are free after 8 pm), so some good luck and good timing was required in obtaining free parking one night. We weren't so lucky the other night, and ended up paying for the garage (75 cents/hour). But our enjoyment of the inn outweighed the parking hassle and we will definitely return for future visits.

This is our favorite B&B. We stayed here for our honeymoon and again for our 5th Anniversary. The Deck Suite offers superb privacy. Brian and Joan are a pleasure to interact with. Brian is an excellent chef and can adjust his breakfast options to meet your tastes (I'm a picky eater and had no problems).
It was great getting to see you again, and happy anniversary. Hopefully it does not take another 5 years for you to visit us!

This was my first time staying at a bed and breakfast. It was absolutely lovely. I stayed in the Garden Room which was very nice. The room is very spacious and has a lot of character and charm. They offer 24hr hot beverages in the living room which I thought was very nice. I loved how my stay felt homey and welcoming and not like I was just a guest. The breakfast was amazing!!! I would love to stay there again.
Thank you so much. We hope to host you again soon!

The inn has a homespun feeling without forsaking privacy. The housekeeping staff deserves kudos for doing their work thoroughly. Breakfast is presented nicely -- and is very good.

Would definitely stay here again. A very lovely inn, beautifully maintained, in a perfect location. We have stayed at many of the B & B's in Gettysburg and this was our first time at the Brafferton. The innkeepers and staff were readily available and more than happy to offer information about the area and suggestions about what to see and do. Great cookies and outstanding breakfasts too!

My husband and I stayed at The Brafferton for the second time the weekend of 6/24/11 and it was just as wonderful as the first!!! We stayed in the Cordori Suite located on the first floor fo the main house. This suite came w/ private free parking spot right out back of the inn. I loved not running around feeding meters all weekend. The inn is centrally located and you can nearly walk where ever you are exporing. The breakfasts are too die for!!! We will be staying there on our next getaway to Gettysburg for sure!!! Thanks for the great weekend!!! Julia Hollis
Thank you so much! We hope to host you again sometime soon!

I found the Inn at bedandbreakfast.com and was pleased by the reviews and photos. Being there in person was EVEN BETTER! Owners and staff were so friendly and helpful. Suite was perfect and other areas of the Inn were so quaint and quiet. Very relaxing. Great B&B experience. The food was AMAZING!!! Would definitely go back for a repeat stay to see what other rooms are like! Parked our car Friday and did everything we wanted to do within walking distance and didn't move our car until we left on Sunday. HIGHLY recommended!!!
Thank you so much for your kind words. We had a great time getting to meet you, and hope to host you again soon!

We spent 3 nights here in the dead of winter to celebrate my birthday. The suite we stayed in was clean, comfortable and cozy. We really liked that we could have our own private table for breakfast and the puffs were amazing. The location was perfect! Being right in town we walked to almost everything. We have already decided that this is going to be our regular "get-a-way" place.

Thank you!! We really enjoy cooking and serving breakfast, and are so glad you enjoyed it too!

My husband and I spent out 2nd Anniversary weekend at the Brafferon Inn in Gettysburg, PA. When we arrived, we were greeted by the owner, Brian. He showed us our room and went over the map of Gettysburg with us, and he also recommended some great restaurants and things to do. The inn itself has a nice colonial charm about it, with a lot of the original features still in tact. There is beautiful artwork throughout the inn, notably a mural of old Gettysburg in the dining room. Our suite was large and very clean. We were pleased with the bathroom/shower as well as the bed. We also had access to an outside deck/balcony (unfortunately it was February and very cold so we didn't get to use it!) We ate breakfast at the inn on both Sat and Sun morning. We were greeted with fresh pastries (blueberry almond muffins and lemon poppyseed muffins... yum!) and fresh fruit. We had three choices each day, some of which included: scrambled eggs with fresh mozzarella, basil and cherry tomatoes; sausage casserole; banana nut pancackes. All of the food was fresh cooked and was delicious! The inn was located right in downtown Gettysburg and was within walking distance of local bars, shops, and restaurants. Overall, we were very satisfied with our choice of B&Bs and we would definitely go back again!

My husband and I wanted to do something special for our first Valentine's weekend as a married couple. By luck I found The Brafferton Inn online and my husband and I decided to go all out and reserve the Pear Tree Suite. We can't say enough about our weekend. Everyone was wonderful, check in was so personal (as was the check out although we were sad to have to check out), our room was amazing, the chocolate covered strawberries I requested were delicious, and the breakfast was amazing. We are already trying to figure out another weekend to visit (sadly the Pear Tree Suite will have to be saved for a special weekend). Thank you for everything!
Thank you so much for your review. We truly enjoyed meeting you and are so glad you enjoyed your Valentine's Day getaway!

My wife and I stayed in the Brafferton Suite for two nights in January after a good snow storm. When we arrived Brian had already shoveled out a parking spot for us which we would use for the entire stay. The Inn is in a great location, right down town and an easy 10 minute drive to the museum. It is very clean and well maintained. At breakfast there are many options and as a diabetic felt very comfortable with the choices available for me. The food was wonderful, especially the lemon muffins. The room was more than we could hope for with a gas fire place that opens to both the bedroom and a nice little sitting area where you can watch your very own copy of Gettysburg or Gods and Generals before going out on the battlefield. I highly recommend this Inn and we certainly will be staying here again in the near future.

My girlfriend and I have stayed at this wonderful Bed and Breakfast two times - both stays were in the winter months, and we absolutely love it! The rooms are very quaint, comfortable, and clean. The food is wonderful. The owners come across more like family than someone you are doing business with. With all the things to see and do in the Gettysburg area, we still find ourselves wanting to spend a great amount of time in B&B itself. It has a great history, and we cannot recommend it enough to friends and relatives. It was our first choice of lodging when we attended the most recent Inkeeper's Civil War Ball, just down the street, at the Gettysburg Hotel. Book a room - seriously!! You will not be disappointed.

My boyfriend and I decided to take a weekend getaway in Gettysburg to get out of the big city and chose the Brafferton Inn as our final destination. The innkeeper was extremely nice and welcoming, the food was amazing, and the house itself is a Civil War gem. Our only complaint was the bed--it was terrible! We stayed in the South Suite and were very displeased with our bed; the mattress was uncomfortable, sank in the middle, and caused us both a lot of back pain. Excluding the bed, our trip was wonderful and we would stay here again.
Thank you for your comments on your stay with us. We had a great time meeting and getting to know you. As far as the bed, it seems the bar that sits under the mattress, which is part of the bed frame, had fallen off under the bed. That is probably why the mattress felt like it was sinking in the middle. Anyway, the frame and bar are all back together, and the bed and mattress are fine. Thanks for letting us know so we could address the situation. Hope to host you again soon!

Great romantic Inn and the location in downtown Gettysburg was great. We walked everywhere except the vistors center, and it was a quick drive there. The new vistors center is only 4 years old. It is fantastic and you feel like you have gone back in time. This is a fantastic place for civil war buffs. The battle of Gettysburg was only 3 days and when you go on a tour of the battlefieds and just drive through you can't believe that it was only 3 days. Such rich history. A sad time in America's history. The Inn was fantastic, it was built 100 years before the war!!!! The Hodges are great people and we met some lovely people who were staying there also. The breakfasts were so good, some of the best we have had. My husband and I have stayed at many B&B's and Inns and we would definately come back again and again.
Thank you so much for your kind words. We had a great time getting to know you. Hopefully we can host you again in the future!

My recent stay at the Brafferton Inn was awesome! The Innkeepers are lovely and v sweet. I liked the privacy, I didn't really see other guests except when dining for breakfast. The various private entrances really help limit this. The parking space provided was a huge bonus. Located right in the center of town, so you can walk to various cafes & shops. The building is beautiful and breakfast was charming (the pastries were amazing). I would recommend this as a go-to place to stay in Gettysburg. Check out any promotions on their website- they offered half off 2nd & 3rd nights off-season, great deal!

My girlfriend and I visited this bed & breakfast for a three-day weekend and we could not have been more pleased with every aspect of our visit. We were greeted warmly by the innkeepers and given a detailed and historic tour of the inn while being assisted in moving into our suite. We took advantage of a free auto tour cds and a booklet that the inn has on file and toured the battle sites. The staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the history of the Battle of Gettysburg and we were not afraid to ask questions. Perhaps the most enjoyable part of the stay were the breakfast -- fresh fruit, mouthwatering pastries, and a choice of various egg dishes, casseroles, or pancakes. The food was prepared according to our dietary needs. When we came back for an afternoon nap each day, we found the room to be taintless and tidy. We know we will be coming back to the Brafferton Inn next time that we are in Gettysburg and could not recommend it more highly!
Thank you so much for the kind words. We had a great time getting to meet you and your girlfriend, and look forward to hosting you again soon!

We stayed in the Coduri Suite, which was outstanding!!!! The suite is very spacious with 2 full bathrooms, one of which is huge with a giant shower. The room looked almost new. The bed was very comfortable, the room was quiet, and it was spotlessly clean. Included a mini fridge & microwave, which was a nice touch. The only drawbacks were no TV in the bedroom area d/t layout of suite (did have a large flat screen TV in living area) and we could not figure out how to get the heated towel rack & jets for the tub to work (I'm sure if we asked, the staff would have been happy to assist though). The suite came with one private parking spot, which was a little rough getting in & out of d/t uneven asphalt, but a great benefit of the suite. The staff was friendly and gave us several great tips for dining, shopping, & activities. The breakfasts were very good. The daily breakfast pastry selections were the best food we had on the entire trip. The Inn has an abundadance of charm and a great location (we were able to walk to almost everything). Comparing this to other B&Bs we have stayed at, we would highly recommend and will definitely book the Coduri Suite again if we return to Gettysburg.

It isn't home, but it's the next best thing to it! Our suite was a wonderful, relaxing oasis to come home to after long days of wandering around town and the battlefields. All four breakfasts we were treated to were outstanding! The fresh fruit and scrumptious bakery were an eagerly awaited delite every morning followed by Bryan's delicious special entrees! The Brafferton will be our home away from home whenever we visit the Gettysburg area in the future! Thank you Joan and Bryan! Regards, Vicki and George Cleveland, Ohio

My daughter and I stayed at the Brafferton for two nights. The staff was very gracious and welcoming. My daughter was the only child in the inn but was treated as a welcome guest. Our room (The Chamberlain) was perfect for us with one double and one twin bed. Our bathroom was tiny but clean and cozy and directly across the hall. There is no private parking available and I managed to avoid getting a ticket at the meters behind the inn. This is an historic inn, so expect lots of stairs and narrow passageways and doors - normal for a building of the era. I have dietary restrictions and they gave me great choices for breakfast. I would definitely recommend The Brafferton.

My husband and I stayed in the Pear Tree suite. The room was more fabulous than the pictures on the website! It was such a nice getaway for us (and probably our last one for a while), as we have twins at home, with another one on the way. Breakfast was delicious and very filling. Excellent service with the most kind innkeepers! Before we ran across The Brafferton, we had been looking at this one golf resort in York, which would've been about the same price. It wouldn't have held a candle to this place though!! We got SO much more for our money by coming to The Brafferton! Everything was very clean as well!

The owner(s) and employees of the Brafferton Inn were very friendly and helpful. They made us feel at home and took time to go over the history of the town and the inn and pointed out landmarks that we were interested in visiting. The room was very cozy and in impeccable condition. We were thoroughly impressed with everything from the room to the service and most of all the delicious breakfast we were served! We highly recommend staying here and definitely plan to stay here again if and when we come back to Gettysburg.

I will definitely be going back to the Brafferton

The breakfast was beyond delicious, best muffins we ever ate. The room was so spotless, very nicely decorated, and the sheets were so soft. It is a wonderful Inn. We stayed there before and we will stay there again. I highly recommend this place!! The only problem with Gettysburg is the parking meters!! Take your change. At the Brafferton, the parking garage in the rear is the best bet, so another plus for the Inn.

Perfect location and greeted at the curb by our innkeeper, a personable and accommodating host. The inn is meticulously decorated with era appropriate decor. Room was spacious, lovely and just as represented. Cleanliness was obvious and the inn is well maintained. Breakfasts consisted of three gourmet selections and all included fresh fruit, juice, muffins and copious coffee. An easy walk to historic Gettysburg, quick drive to the national park and other sites, one hour from Amish Country, Brafferton was a treasure which we will revisit and recommend willingly. G. We recently stayed in the Deck Suite at the Brafferton Inn during our first visit to Gettysburg. The suite was clean & cozy, having everything that you would want for a stay including a nice deck overlooking the garden area. The inn is ideally located, right in town and within driving minutes of the battlefield. There is a clearly marked parking space right in front of the inn to use during check-in. It being off-season, after check-in we were able to park in one of the two inn’s spaces that was right behind the inn. The parking garage, to use when the inn is more fully occupied, is right across the street, again behind the inn. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful, telling us about the inn and its history, the restaurants in town, and the available Ghost Walks (if in Gettysburg, why would you not take a Ghost walk). And yes, the breakfast was delightful. A fresh fruit plate, a scrumptious crumb cake pastry, and a choice of 4 (!) different breakfast plates. My wife & I couldn’t resist the raspberry stuffed French toast. The Brafferton will be a stop off place for us, whether visiting Gettysburg again or on our way to a further destination.

This was our first stay at a B&B and I must admit I was a little bit wary initially. I planned this as a surprise getaway weekend for my wife. I can say with assurance now that selecting the Brafferton was by far the best choice I could have made. We stayed in the Loft Suite which was beautiful and gave us that "historic" feel. The Inn's location is perfect for walking around town and is just a few minutes drive from the Battlefield Museum & Visitor Center. The Food was to die for! Easily the best breakfast that I've ever had. And with friendly and hospitable service to match it. A top notch experience!

My boyfriend and I decided to go to Gettysburg for the weekend and this is the first place we looked. The place looked wonderful and even though the price was a bit high, we decided to book it. When we got to the bed and breakfast we were greeted by Brian and Joan and were given a tour of the building. We had no idea that we would be staying in the oldest inn in the city. Breakfast was indescribable. You'll never understand how awesome it is until you stay here. Parking is available at meters or the parking garage behind the building. You don't have to drive anywhere because all of the shops and resturants are within walking distance. All in all, I would give this place a 100% and would recommend it to EVERYONE. If you are thinking about going somewhere else to stay because the price is too high, please reconsider. The service is super friendly, the food is amazing and you'll feel right at home at this inn.

Breakfast provided several choices and it was delicious. Coffee is available at any time with homemade cookies. Yum!

My husband and I just spent his Birthday weekend at The Brafferton Inn on reccomendations from friends. Now we will reccomend this Inn! The Hodges family was just as warm and accomodating as could be - we felt at home as soon as we walked into this very old, historic and lovely Inn. Our room was large and we loved having the sitting room with fireplace as it was very cold outside. I have been to a few Bed and Breakfasts but NEVER - and I mean NEVER have I had such an amazing -cooked to order breakfast. Now we are spoiled as they have set the bar for all B&Bs we shall visit!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and this very historic inn!! The location is perfect to be able to shop, eat, tour, etc. The room was extremely clean and well-kept, and we felt right at home. The only disappointment was the mattress on the bed.....it looked great while the bed was made, but as soon as the two of us got into bed, we both rolled right to the middle on top of each other. Not a complaint, if only for one night. Would be difficult if more than that. Thank you for a very enjoyable stay!

The cookies and coffee in the lounge were excellent.

As a teacher, I am unable to take time off for a honeymoon during the school year. So, my husband and I decided to make a little "get-away" to Gettysburg. This Inn came recommended to me by a friend, and I am so glad I took his advice! The Hodges Family were extremely understanding when an accident on the turnpike caused to us to have a very late check-in. We stayed in the Brafferton Suite and it was beautiful. Chocolate-covered strawberries and champagne awaited us in our room. The bed was extremely comfortable and the jucuzzi was a wonderful bonus! The breakfast, however, far exceeded anything I could have imagined. Each morning you are presented with fresh fruit, o.j. and coffee, a delicious "danish of the day" and a choice of three entrees. We were blown away by the food. We plan on coming back during the summer and we'll be sure to stay at the Brafferton Inn!

My husband and I are seasoned travelers, and after some thorough research, decided to stay at the Brafferton Inn in Gettysburg for a lovely fall weekend. The Innkeepers were very warm and friendly, but also unobtrusive. The Inn itself was beautiful, warm and incredibly clean. We stayed in the Codori Suite and were beyond thrilled with it's beauty, size and ammenities. Also, the breakfast service was excellent as the food was great. The next time we visit Gettysburg, we will only stay at the Brafferton Inn!

This was our third stay at the Brafferton, but the first since the Hodges Family became the proprietors. They make you feel like family, and added tremendously to our visit to Gettysburg. The Inn is historic, and the food is wonderful! The Brafferton Inn is a special treat.

We stayed at the Brafferton Inn last weekend. Our trip was wonderful. We stayed in the Getty Suite. It was beautifully decorated and large. It had two seperate bedrooms as well as a full kitchen and sitting/dining area. It was very comfortable and immaculately maintained. The Inn itself is also lovely and very quaint. Everyone there was friendly and helpful. The location of the Inn is perfect. It is right off the square in the center of town. I will definitely book a room again the next time we visit Gettysburg.

We had a wonderful time at the Brafferton Inn. We were traveling with two teenage girls & they loved their room, the history of the inn & town, and the not so secret passage from their room to the stairs. The breakfast was excellent and the host and owner were very attentive.

Wife and I had a wonderful stay. Room accomodations were great. We were given a choice of two entrees in the morning for breakfast which was nice. The Brafferton Suite was an elegant room. Windows on main street side made for some noise but the inn had that on there website. King bed, jacuzzi tub awesome for anniversary. The innkeepers, the Hodges family very pleasant and helpful. Great stay

Lovely sitting rooms--and the most amazing B&B breakfast I've ever had. Only regret is that we didn't have time to use the outdoor terrace. Loft suite was spacious and cute--though the bathroom was cramped and nothing special or charming. Would definitely stay here again!

We stayed at the Brafferton Inn for two nights to give our 15 year old Daughter a feel for the battle of Gettysburg. It was a wonderful time for all of us. Staying at the Inn enhances the whole Gettysburg experience. The rooms are clean and well kept. The breakfast is exceptional. Location is in the center of the old City of Gettysburg. The room prices are reasonable. Our family will remember this vacation for a long time to come.

My husband and I took another couple and spent three nights at the Brafferton Inn in Gettysburg. The hospitality was warm and genuine, the atmosphere peaceful and the breakfasts are feasts. Lovely hosts and great accommodations. We will definitely stay with them again.

Truly special InnKeepers with exceptional knowledge and passion for making a historical visit a most memorable event. Recently celebrated our 20th Anniversary here for the weekend. Food was absolutely delicious, our suite was spacious, very private, and extremely comfortable. Perfect location to visit all the sites in Gettysburg. Highly recommend staying here!

Having a daughter who graduated from Gettysburg College, we have stayed many times before at this wonderful inn when it was under the previous owners. The Hodge family has taken all the good things we remembered about the inn and made them outstanding, plus they added their own special touches! Breakfasts are delicious and filling and any questions that we had were quickly answered. We will definitely be back!

...were made at the Brafferton! The room was small, but lovely. The sheets were incredibly soft and luxurious! Offering cookies and 24 hr. Keurig coffee was a treat. Breakfasts were delicious (although we're not salt users and found the potatoes over salted..but that wasn't a big problem). Cordial hosts. If we go back to Gettysburg, we'll be sure to stay at this inn.

The Brafferton Inn is a wonderful place to stay when seeing historic Gettysburg! It is close to and within walking distance to most of the attractions. The inn keepers are wonderful and caring and their breakfasts are absolutely awesome! Try staying at this bed and breakfast. You will love it as much as we did.

We recently spent five nights at the Brafferton in the Lincoln Room. Absolutely loved it. The Hodges are great hosts, very knowledgeable about the area of Gettysburg, and so helpful. The Inn is beautiful and quiet - an exceptional retreat. Good food, good company, and a great location. Definately plan to revisit.

My husband and I found the Hodges family to be very nice; the room was very clean and comfortable and the breakfast was outstanding. The location gave us easy access to shops, museums, restaurants and the battlefield. We would stay here again and would highly recommend the Brafferton Inn.

We stayed at the Brafferton over the holiday and it was a very pleasant experience. The rooms are clean and airy, the breakfasts were wonderful and the owners were very helpful and genuinely cared whether we were seeing everything we wanted to see and if we were comfortable. The location is right near the center of town and it was easy to get around to see all the sites.

My family and I had one of the best vacations ever at the Brafferton Inn.Not only were the rooms exceptional, but the breakfasts were delicious, distinct every day, and the baked goodies before the meal were to die for.The location is another factor selection as it is in walking distance of the entire Gettysburg experience. The Inn keepers were helpful with much needed information about town. We gave it a !0!!!! Lois krebs

We stayed for a weekend in the Codori Suite and the website just does not do the Inn justice. The suite was very big and very clean with luxury towels and bedding. It's very hard to prepare food that has to please a large amount of people but the Hodges have managed to do just that, the food was delicious, the setting very nice and the service was very friendly and welcoming! The Inn is so unique and we highly recommend it, not to mention it is right in the square and within walking distance of just about everything!! The Hodges have been in the business for over 20 years and it is easy to tell why people keep returning, we will definantly be visiting in the future. Dave & Tracey Laughery

We decided to head to Gettysburg for our 15th Wedding Anniversary this past weekend and booked out room at The Brafferton Inn after an online search. We had never stayed at a B and B before and were truly amazed at the hospitality, service and hominess of the inn. Brian's assistance about tours and things to see as well as his breakfasts were top notch. Joans home baked goodies in the afternoon as well as her morning pastries were outstanding! We felt welcomed and also enjoyed the tour of the house and hearing the history of it. We will definitely recommend it to others and will plan to return again in the future. The Hayden's Endicott, NY

We just returned from a 2 night stay at the Brafferton Inn. This is a beautiful B & B in the heart of Gettysburg, with thoughtful, caring owners. We couldn't have felt more welcome. The rooms were beautiful and spotlessly clean, with comfy beds, good linens, and nice towels. Best of all was the gourmet breakfast - truly a labor of love! We had worried about parking due to the city center location, but there are ample meters, as well as garage parking, directly behind the inn. In sum, we could not have been more pleased, and hope to stay here again. We highly recommend the Brafferton to anyone visiting Gettysburg who are looking for comfortable, convenient accomodations with added luxury and period charm.

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Brafferton Inn. We stayed for 2 nights in their Brafferton Suite. The room was gorgeous...nicely decorated, very comfortable bed, and a wonderful 2 person jacuzzi tub which was wonderful after walking across the battlefields! The room was very clean. The staff was inviting and knowledgable of the area. The B&B itself in the heart of Gettysburg and within walking distance of many shops and restaurants. We will definitely be back again.

Quaint, colonial rooms make you feel as though you've traveled back in time. Excellent breakfast selection with much care and attention to detail. Centrally located, the inn is close to several downtown pubs and local restaurants. Looking forward to another stay in the fall.

We are two couples who enjoyed our version of a two night Spring Break March 2009 at The Brafferton Inn. We stayed in the Battle Room and the Hoke Room which are in the main house. It was nice to see that this B&B has kept the original style and character from when it was built. The Battle Room had a bullet in the fireplace mantel from the war which was unique. The bed linens were luxurious, slept very well. The Hodges Family are excellent innkeepers, very polite and knowledgeable about Gettysburg, and anxious to do anything to make your stay enjoyable. The three course breakfasts are incredible as well as Joan's afternoon treats! The Inn is convenient to the downtown and an easy walk to shopping and restaurants. We look forward to returning to The Brafferton Inn and staying in one of the other guest rooms. The new visitor's center is wonderful, so educational - recommend everyone leave 3-4 hours during their visit to tour the center.

My husband took me here for my 35th birthday. I had never been to Gettysburg before. We went to the new museum, which was an amazing experience. We also enjoyed the auto tour of the battlefield especially since we could go at our own pace. Due to the convenient location right in the middle of town we dined at the Pub, went shopping and sampled the beers at the local brewery. Our Inn was very accommodating with breakfast and anything else we needed for our stay. We will definitely visit the Brafferton Inn at Gettysburg again!

I especially enjoyed all the available history books around on the tables. The decor was very period and added to our visit to Gettysburg. Loved the bed. The breakfast was a bit plainer than other inns we have stayed at, but tasty. Also, we would have liked a social hour in the early evening, like the other inns where we have stayed. Wine, snacks, people to meet!Parking convenient in a very crowded town...that helped a lot! Needs to have TV, or at least internet access.
Thank you for your opinions and comments. We would like to state that are parlor and back deck area are open 24 hours a day for guests to socialize and mingle with each other. We have 24 hour coffee and tea service, and cook homemade snacks every afternoon. We have 18 bedrooms in total, and 9 of those rooms have televisions, so they are available if you want a room with a television. We also have free wi-fi, so internet service is provided to our guests. Thanks again for your comments!! The Hodges Family

The old home is historic and interesting, but the floors are creaky and the skylight in our room woke us at the crack of dawn, after being out late the night before. We heard every move people down the hallway made. I thought the hostess was kind of curt and condescending to us, certainly different than our other experiences at B&Bs. We had to cross the hallway to get to our bathroom. The breakfast was very good. There is no parking so you have to get up early to go out and feed the meter or get a ticket. Just up the street is a building with a cannon ball in it from the great battle. Gettysburg is a wonderful place to visit, and I am glad that I stayed there just to say that I did, but I would never stay at this place again. I had a much better time a few years ago when I stayed at a B&B on battlefield.
5 on July 21, 2008
My sister and I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay than the Brafferton Inn. The staff were helpful and went out of their way to do whatever they could for us. The breakfast served was a three course meal and a great way to start the day. The Inn itself captured the ambiance of Gettysburg perfectly. We would love to go back and stay again over and over.

When we pulled into the Brafferton we knew this B&B was a good fit for us. Our hosts were awesome! You could always find them in the parlor area and they were a great source of info. The breakfast choices have made us want to return again. We stayed in the Battle room, the bullet in the mantle was very cool, however the spotlights that light the inn's sign kept our room aglow all night. We look forward to returning but will choose a room at the back of the inn. We definitely reccommend.

Excellent location, friendly knowledgeable hosts. Parking (none provided by Inn) a hassel . You can park on the street free after 6 PM. But if you don't feed the meter ($.25 per 1/4 hour) after 8 am you will get aq ticket for sure ... I did and it cost me $20.

We spent two wonderful nights in the Chamberlain room at the Brafferton Inn. When we arrived, we were shown around the old historic house, the beautiful garden to enjoy, and told of the Inn's history. Our breakfast, both mornings, so delicious, with wonderful baked goodies. I would go back again and will recommend the Inn to anyone thinking of travelling to Gettysburg. J/J Yeomans

We are two couples who stayed at the Brafferton June 1-June 4, 2008. It was our first experience in a B&B and it was amazing. From the moment we arrived we were treated as special guests. Joan was so helpful with information about the area and gave us a wonderful tour of the Inn. Brian's breakfasts are incredible! Our rooms were so lovely and rich with history, and kept clean and fresh. The Inn is so convenient to the downtown Gettysburg area that we could walk to the shops and restaurants. During our time in Gettysburg we took note of other B&B's that we'd considered and we all agreed that the Brafferton was the ideal choice. I know that we will all be returning to enjoy the Brafferton again in the future.

The Brafferton in Gettysburg is a great place to stay. The owners are incredibly friendly and helpful and the breakfast is awesome! We stayed in the Gettys room and it was quaint and delightful. I only have 2 small complaints...1 there is no TV in the room. I don't watch a ton of TV, especially while on vacation but I do enjoy catching the news and sports at night before I go to sleep and of course we couldn't do that because there was no tv...2 there is a skylight in the ceiling of that room and as soon as the sun comes up the room gets as bright as mid-day and I didn't like that. I like to sleep in a little in total darkness and that was a problem in this room. Overall though, I have no other complaints about our stay at this very nice b&b. If my 2 minor complaints were not a factor, it would be a perfect rating.

The noise from the road was a bit annoying at 6am, but the room itself with the fabulous bed, fireplace, and two person jacuzzi made it easy to forget! The breakfast was out of this world and learning the history of the inn from the innkeeper was very interesting! The location is great as well for walking and shopping the historic downtown area! We had a fabulous time!

This was my husband and myself first time at a Bed and Breakfast. We wanted to to something extra special for our tenth anniversary. Staying here at the Brafferton B&B was more special than I expected. We were taken to our room personally and given a complete tour of the inn. I was surprised by flowers, wine and chocolate covered strawberries (requested in advance by my husband). We spent a wonderful time in Gettysburg but the morning breakfast was the best. I wish we could have them make us breakfast everyday. I don't think I have had a better breakfast anywhere ever. The restaurant recommendatations were great along with touring information. We will definately come again. The Brafferton Inn spoiled us and we will always compare other B&B and hotels to their high standards.

My husband & I were on Spring break. We hadn't made any plans concerning where to go & at the last minute he said 'Let's go to Gettysburg & let's stay some where nice this time.' Much to our surprise there was a room available at The Brafferton, and what a room it was! Beautiful, warm & comfortable are the words that come to mind, not only concering the room, but the Breakfast as well. The home made cookies, coffee, tea & hot choclate that they leave out for you at night in the parlor are a wonderful touch as well. I wish we had stayed for more than one night! Highly recomended.

We stayed at The Brafferton Inn in 2005 and it remains among our favorite of many B & B experiences. Our Innkeepers were delightful, our rooms were cozy and comfortable, the ambience was historical and inviting and the breakfast was FANTASTIC! We traveled on motorcycles and our hosts even allowed us to park in their garage rather than having to park our bikes in the community parking garage behind the inn. We are planning another trip to Gettysburg in the near future and we will introduce another couple to this charming establishment and to the richest historical community in the country.

This family owned Inn is outstanding. If you have any questions about touring Gettysburg they have the answers. The rooms are clean, very cute and have a lot of history. If there is any problem with the room you are staying in they will put you in another room with no extra cost. The three course breakfast is more then you could ever expect, it is by far the best breakfast I have ever had at a B&B. I would definitely stay here again, it was a fabulous experience.
