We just keep on coming back!

This was our fourth visit to the Hertzog suite and it is just a magical place that feels like it belongs to us — while we are there! The view from the back, the hot tub, the delightfully comfortable room, the privacy and quality of the breakfast…We love everything about this place. We will return many times!

Outstanding!

There is nothing not to like. Set in the middle of an extremely pretty setting, the Hertzog Homestead offers exactly what you'd expect from a B and B. The room was wonderfully spacious. The kitchenette more than adequate, with a well-stocked refrigerator of various organic juices and soda's. The bed was awesomely comfortable, and the bathroom was just perfect. This is our go-to place when we need to take a break from the stresses of life. Need I say that if you have any questions or needs that Scott and Kristen will do their absolute best to accommodate you.

Beautiful, relaxing location with immaculate rooms and friendly staff!

I would recommend Hertzog Homestead to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway in a serene location with beautiful country views. The staff was friendly and helpful upon arrival, the room was exceptionally clean and cozy, and the breakfast was simply delightful! I also recommend a massage at the on site spa cottage!

The BEST Bed & Breakfast ever

Love the idea of enjoying breakfast in your room/suite at your time of choosing. Beautiful and spacious accommodations. Beautiful property. Wonderful hosts. Great food. No complaints at all. Our second visit and it will not be our last. HIGHLY recommend The Hertzog Homestead B&B.

A relaxing stay

My husband and I were enjoying the celebration of 40 years of life and 4 years of marriage. We were able to relax, rest, enjoy a massage, lounge in the hot tub and eat at some amazing local restaurants, as well as a local distillery. Definitely stay here and totally check out the area - AH-MAZING.

The BEST Bed & Breakfast ever

This was our 2nd time to The Hertzog Homestead B&B. As before, an outstanding experience. So many B&Bs are tiny and almost cramped.... total opposite at Hertzog. Rooms/Suites are very clean and beautifully decorated. The in-room breakfasts are exquisite.... the BEST we've ever had at a B&B or hotel. Service is exceptional as well. We cannot say enough about the outstanding experiences we've had. We WILL be back. Give them a try. You will not be disappointed.

Anniversary Getaway

4.2 on July 27, 2018

My husband and I very much enjoyed our stay! We were in the Hertzog Suite which had an amazing view of the farm. It also had a private patio with a jacuzzi. The room was very spacious and cozy. There were many things in the room to look at, as well as books to read (including a book written by the owner about the history of the homestead), and a television. We were there in the summer and the room was kept nice and cool. They had a little propane stove for winter it looked like. The jacuzzi is placed next to some little trees and between the trees large spiders had built their webs. One spider was in the process of building a web between the tub and tree so we felt uneasy sitting on that side of the tub! They were very big spiders! However the view of the farm kept us out there. We watched the fireflies and listened to the sounds of horse and buggies going by. If you looked around the corner of the building between the trees and the barn, you could see them. But it was very private and no one could have seen us which is good because I forgot my swimsuit! Their Amish cook made treats and a breakfast. All of this was already in our room so we could eat it whenever we wanted. Muffins, shoefly pies, cinnamon rolls, Keesh, and homemade yogurt. Everything was soooo delicious. I did wish there was more though, but I’m a piggy. We bought a $50 gift card for $45 from the owner for a restaurant called Gibraltar nearby. We got there and felt underdressed so we sat on the patio. The food was good but not my favorite and it wasn’t very filling and the service took a while. . We wished we had chosen someplace more comfortable and delicious.

A wonderful place to stay!

Peaceful

Great place to rest, relax and Renew. The room was beautifully decorated and very clean. The breakfast was delicious. I took advantage of the onsite massage and was pleasantly pleased. I will be making this bed and breakfast a regular stay when I visit Lancaster in the future.

First visit looking forward to future ones.

We were there for our anniversary and we love the privacy and scenery. The breakfast was delicious. When a small problem arose, we got a quick response from Scott who solved it. Thank you. Jay and Nellie
