We drove up from Annapolis specifically to spend some time at the Brandywine Valley Art Museum to visit the Wyeth displays, homes and studios. This B&B was just 10 minutes from the museum and we gave it a shot based on the reviews and we are so glad we did. Historic and elegant home, in a setting that seems farther away from civilization than it really is. We had the large room with the antique 10-foot bed and a nice "balcony" overlooking the woods on which we had wine and a snack upon arrival, then played some pool and sipped a sherry. Stayed two nights, both nights the innkeepers took care of reservations (they know everyone), the first night at Brandywine Prime, a fantastic steak place, and a very nice Italian restaurant the second night. The innkeepers own a horse farm right next door so if you choose you can feed them or play with them or I suppose ride I'm not sure. And being a B&B of course breakfast was featured and what breakfasts they were, delicious ... first was a poached pear with cheese and cream, then a nice omelet and sides; second was blueberry upside down pancakes, a new one on me but so delicious. Next time we are within 30 minutes of Hamanassett we will definitely stay again.

We stayed at Hamanassett from January 19-23, 2017 for the first time and do plan to return for more visits. I was searching for a B&B in the area and am delighted to find this Old English Manor style B&B here. It is huge, gorgeous, exquisitely appointed. The rooms are all beautiful with attached baths. The main house has three levels by staircase (very elegant). There are separate cottages, as well. And a horse barn and pasture. Its magical. The rooms are large, very well appointed and stocked with the finest linens and toiletries. The innkeepers are a delight and went out of their way to accommodate all of our needs. The staff is unobtrusive and delightful. Breakfast is gourmet and to die for. We received a surprise upgrade on our room when they found out it was a celebration visit. The innkeepers, Ashley and Glenn, could not have gone out of their way for us any more than they did. Our stay felt like home and I don't look forward to leaving. I highly recommend Hamanassett, especially if you are looking for this style B&B. It is PERFECT for an entire wedding or corporate stay (I am a former meeting planner). Don't miss this magical place.

A party of four (three brothers and our father) stayed for two nights recently, and we very much enjoyed the experience. The brothers shared the Carriage house (beds were huge so more than enough room to share, but a pull-out couch was available) and our father stayed in the gorgeous Windsor room. Arriving late, we were greeted as expected with a map and key to the residence, and everything was perfect. The grounds, architecture and warm but sumptuous decor were wonderful and the hosts/proprietors charming. Being mid-spring, the setting was impressive with all the greenery. Breakfasts were well thought-out and high quality and it was clear that the hosts paid great attention to special diets. The only detraction would have been that a stronger coffee option would have been appreciated. Highly recommended!

We were beyond pleased at what we got from the owners, to staff experience. the owner/innkeepers were so friendly down to earth people. I would highly recommend staying.

My family and I had an amazing stay at Hamanassett. My new husband and I arranged to get married there through their intimate wedding package option and with that took the opportunity for most of our family to stay on site with us. The accommodation was lovely, the beds were comfortable, the breakfasts were divine and the service was exceptional. We felt that Ashley and Glenn were very accommodating and made our wedding day very memorable. The grounds were beautiful and even though we live close by we feel we were truly transported somewhere else. The small touches add to the stay as well and I know we will be going back routinely.

My husband and I spent our anniversary weekend here. Glen, Ashley and Corinne were fabulous. We stayed in the Windsor room which was extremely nice. The building and grounds are beautiful and welcoming and close enough to many sites such as Longwood Gardens and Winterthur. Breakfast was a culinary treat and my husband thoroughly enjoyed the homemade chocolate cookies each day. Looking forward to returning to this lovely B&B.

For the last two weeks in May we had the great fortune to stay in the Meadows Cottage at the Hamanassett Bed and Breakfast near Media, PA. We needed to find a furnished rental/lease that would accommodate two adults and two older yellow labradors. Ashley and Glenn Mon go out of their way to attend to the needs of all guests. On a few occasions, B&B staff member Corine was made available to feed and walk our dogs. One day, yours truly allowed his wife to take off in the running Sienna without the key for the keyless ignition. A simple inquiry to Glenn evolved quickly into Glenn providing me with the keys to his LR3 Land Rover. Glenn didn’t even give it a second thought. There are many sights and wonderful place to eat in the Brandywine Valley. Glenn and Ashley are on top of them all and enjoy special relationships with many of the locations. Our time was otherwise occupied but we’ll look to them for help the next trip up. The cable TV and WiFi worked perfectly. There wasn’t any appliance, pot, pan or kitchen utensil we could think of that they didn’t have. Just bring groceries and you’re good to go. My one disappointment was that we only managed to make it up to the main B&B twice for breakfast. A reviewer from the New York Times had highlighted their breakfast and he was right on. Our last Sunday there we enjoyed fresh waffles with melted butter and Pecan Bourbon Maple Syrup. Ashley gave us the recipe. Hamanassett is a perfect place to come for a romantic weekend getaway from New England or Washington DC. Glenn and Ashley host special getaway packages that with room and board included are a steal. Periodically they have cooking classes run by a professional chef. We will definitely go back again, with or without the dogs. And if your travels take you to the greater Philadelphia area and you’re looking for fully furnished accommodations why on earth would you go to a Residence Inn or one of those suite hotels?!

I had the most wonderful night and was blown away by the attention to detail. Ashley and Glenn Mon have certainly taken the fine art of hosting to a higher level. Hamanassett is located close to many wonderful sites and attractions, but we choose to spend the evening on our balcony enjoy the quiet splendor of the evening sun, and the view of a lovely garden and coy fish pond. The food was wonderful, and when you take into account everything that you get as a guest of Hamanassett, the price is truly a steal.

We celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary at Hamanassett. Ashley and glenn could not have been more gracious or more helpful. Our room was beautiful, breakfast was fantastic, and we enjoyed the game room and the grounds. We have stayed at a number of very nice B&Bs in the past, but this was truly exceptional.

Begin Your Day with Breakfast
Breakfast always begins with a fruit dish such as praline bananas, baked pears in an almond cream sauce, poached pear (pictured to the right) or berries brulee. This is followed by an enticing sweet or savory main course (chef’s choice) with different side dishes each day as well as a choice of several juices and freshly brewed LaColombe coffee served in a warmed mug. Entrees may be waffles with a bourbon pecan maple syrup, eggs roulade with spinach and sundried tomatoes (pictured above) or eggs a la goldenrod, one of our guests’ favorite. Even on days when our main course is a sweet, it is always served with our special scrambled eggs as well as a meat course.
