Featured in the New York Times, this lovely farm and quiet setting captures the essence and heart of Lancaster County. You will enjoy a homemade family-style breakfast followed by a hayride with Farmer Jim. Relax on the porch or play in the spacious yard. Your family can also experience the farm life by feeding the sheep and goats, playing with the cats and kittens, or gathering the eggs from the henhouse. The antique shops in Columbia and the Northwest Lancaster County River Trail for hiking and biking are 10 minutes away. Our bed and breakfast is conveniently located between Hershey and Amish country and 15 minutes from Spooky Nook Sports Complex! Formerly owned by Jim and Mim Brubaker, Country Log House Farm is now owned and operated by Jim’s daughter, Jodi, and her husband Jay. The farm was originally purchased by the Brubaker family in 1945. The farm was a dairy farm which milked about 80 cows. Jodi’s father, Jim, sold the cows and started the bed and breakfast in 1994. The farm was named Country Log House Farm because the guest section of the house was a log home built in the 1800’s. Jay and Jodi have three grown children who live in the area. Over the years, all three of their children have helped at the bed and breakfast. Jodi’s father, Jim, drives the hayride (weather permitting) and continues to help with other farm chores. All three of our newly restored guest rooms are air-conditioned and equipped with complimentary wireless Internet.

Family friendly fun. We loved the tractor ride by Farmer Jim, feeding the goats and gathering the eggs. The setting, the immaculately clean home and the fantastic breakfasts added to an enjoyable and relaxing time. Jody and Jim are most hospitable and recommended places to go in the area.

My daughters and I have been coming to Country Log House Farm every summer for over ten years. They are 16 and 17 years old now, but they still insist on coming back every year. They love to play with the kittens, feed the sheep and goats, collect eggs from the henhouse, and go on hay rides with Farmer Jim, Jodi’s father. The hearty breakfasts are delicious, and include eggs collected from the hens the day before. The bed and breakfast is located between Hershey and Lancaster, close to many area attractions. But plan to spend a couple of hours in the morning after breakfast doing the farm chores and hayride. There’s also a nice covered porch with rocking chairs to relax in. The farm is a calm and peaceful respite from the noise, traffic, and hustle and bustle of ordinary life.

The location is very close to Hershey and Amish country. The breakfast was amazing, the owners are lovely, and my family loved playing with the animals at the farm. We would recommend this beautiful bed and breakfast.

We just got home from a 2 day wonderful weekend. I will list the pros and cons. Pros- Home is very clean and beautiful Great fun for the kids- the hayrides "chores" swing set and resident kittens will leave your kids busy for hours and adults will enjoy it just as much! Breakfast- An over abundance of food. Even though we were served almost identical breakfasts on both days.it was tasty and filling. The menu consisted of berry oatmeal, regular and chocolate chip pancakes and an egg dish. The difference was day one we had potatoes and day two yummy french toast, The pillows- 2 of the pillows in the room were absolutely amazing. Cons- We stayed in sweet escape and the beds are FIRM,if you have a bad back or use to a softer bed you will wake up sore There were no snacks or homemade goodies offered during the day for guests There is a keurig but no cream/milk available

I took two of our grandkids to this delightful farm for two nights in June and we absolutely loved it. I had trouble getting them to leave for a few minutes even to have dinner. Jay and Jodi AND Farmer Jim are amazing hosts! Our little ones loved the kittens in the barn, and helping with the chores The hayride, too! The breakfasts were amazing and started both days out perfectly. All three of us want to go back and I'm hoping to take two more of our grandkids there later this summer
