We stayed here for the first time for a week and loved it. Wonderful location, structure and most of all, wonderful hosts. We will be going back. Karen & Jack Coughlan

Always wonderful!

Stayed at Alpenhof again for a weekend. It is a wonderful place to stay. This was about my sixth visit there, and I think it only gets better and better. The innkeepers are wonderful. The breakfast is fabulous, from homemade baked goods, to pretty much any breakfast you desire. It is always clean, and very comfortable. I highly recommend a stay at Alpenhof. It’s a great experience and a relaxing stay.

The best place to stay in Media/Around Philly

We stayed two nights and were really impressed with the converted barn thoroughly and tastefully decorated with art and artistic touches at every turn. The room was spotless and equipped with every little thing you could need. We didn’t find time to enjoy the deck, the pool or the gardens but they all looked lovely. Breakfast was definitely for champions: loads of mixed berries, yoghurt, scones, coffee...and then omelette or eggs to order or french toast, waffles, etc. with all the sides. The owners are super friendly and accommodating and provide a great experience overall. No more hotels for me - it’s B&Bs from now on.

What a find!

I was very fortunate to find Alpenhof as I was on business concluding a business dinner at a restaurant nearby. I knew this establishment was something special the moment I arrived and was graciously greeted by the owner/operator, Roland. His establishment is beautiful, inside and out and I could not have enjoyed my stay more, including the wonderful conversation with Roland, learning some of his families amazing history. I come to the Philadelphia area often and whether on business or pleasure, I have found my "home away from home." I can't recommend this beautiful Bed & Breakfast more highly. You'll love it!! My new "go to" in the Media area !!

5 on May 02, 2018

May 1, 2018 I was looking for a place to stay when coming to Media for some family business. I checked the area of hotels etc, and only found typical hotel chains that appeared rather bland. I decided to look into boutique hotels or Bed and Breakfast and the Alpenhof came to my attention! It looked wonderful online, but in reality it was so much better. I decided to get the Grand Master suite even though I was only a party of one, but I thought the price was still very reasonable for the accommodations. When I arrived, and saw the room, I was very pleased with my decision. It is huge, with unique furnishings, a wonderful view from the sliding glass doors and deck. The high stone wall is dramatic, yet provides a warmth to the room as well. The bathroom is like entering into your own spa, and has everything you could want. This suite has its own entrance which made my space feels as if I had my own little "out of town" home. It was private, calming and a delightful place to come after a busy day. Each morning is started with a delicious, healthy breakfast made to order from a menu of many choices. It is all presented in a gorgeous dining rooms and served on beautiful pottery. All in all, if you are looking to break out of the typical "vanilla" of chain hotels, please run to the Alpenhof B&B.... it is a delight !!! WHY would you go anywhere else when coming to Media!!!

My new favorite

Roland and Anh are the best!! The converted barn is filled with art and is a beautiful space, open and with a lot of character. It's the perfect spot if your business takes you to the Philly area or a romantic weekend getaway. Also the breakfast is first rate!! Comfy beds a big plus. I love this place and can't wait to go back.

Innkeeper Response
If this is you, Gary --- thank you so much for taking the time to review your stay with us. Anh & I really appreciate the fact that you bring your musical gifts to the area for the Haverford School district and all the kids that you instruct while here. We look forward to your return; and meeting your wife in May --- when all the flowers are in full bloom and the property has again come alive! All our best. We'll see you soon. R&A

Renewed peace!

Roland and his lovely wife Anh went over and above to make our short weekend stay at the Alphenhof Bed and Breakfast an amazing experience despite a short stay in the winter. Our room was intricately decorated, just the right size for my husband and myself. It is clear that our hosts care about details, from the a towel just for make up, fragrant shampoo and conditioner, a variety of lighting, heated air in the bathroom, excellent breakfast (and I am a food snob!). Roland was very generous with his time, he patiently provided map and train details, suggestions for great places to visit, restaurants to try. We had a little bit of snow and Roland tirelessly worked to keep the paths and driveway clear and salted. We came with no expectations because of it being winter, wanting some time to ourselves away from the kids and left feeling better connected to each other, well rested and happy because of their hospitality and kindness. The house comes alive when you learn of its history and there is love in every inch of it because of the Muller family!!

Innkeeper Response
This review is a testament to why we do what we do! Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a lovely review --- we are so happy that you enjoyed yourselves and look forward to your return! All our best. Roland & Anh

The Alpenhof Bed and Breakfast exceeded our expectations in every way. It is absolutely beautiful with stained glass windows, fireplace and flowering plants through out. My daughter said the inside reminded her of a Bavarian castle we had stayed in. The hosts were very welcoming, offering wine glasses and serving an amazing breakfast. The gardens were just beginning to show the beauty that they will become in a few weeks. We will have to return to enjoy them.
