Lark and Michael are extremely gracious hosts. The breakfasts were superb and Lark sets a fabulous table. They also went out of their way to guide us in exploring the Lancaster area. We enjoyed friendly conversation with them as well. We highly recommend that you stay with them. It is likely that we will stay at their Bed and Breakfast again if we are in the area but the next time we will attempt to secure a suite.

We hated to leave. Lark and Michael truly made our trip to Lancaster. Their knowledge of the area and culture clearly demonstrated the commitment to the business. But the funny thing is we felt like we were home. (OK a really beautiful, friendly version of our home with much better breakfast.) Lark's guidance for our itinerary was the difference between a tourist experience and a cultural understanding of the area. We will be forever grateful for sharing their world with us. Obviously this is now our standard for any B & B experience.

This is an outstanding example of the beautiful homes from years gone by. Breakfast (and service) was amazing and much more than expected! This was my first experience in a B&B, but I don't know where else I would rather be! We were treated as family! I have spent many nights (over the years) in hotels and NONE compare with this experience!

In some places you feel like an intruder or at least a bit awkward as you jostle with the owners and other guests for a bit of space. Then there are the few that offer a warm welcome and share their homes and their local knowledge in the spirit of genuine hospitality. Lovelace Manor has to rate among the best of the best for charm, comfort as well as location in the heart of the Amish country. Whether it's the bounteous and healthy breakfasts, the generous touches like all day tea, coffee and snacks, the comfort and elegance of the furnishings and appointments or the optional arrangement of a meal with an Amish family, it's all perfect. Lark and Michael are hosts par excellence and deserve the highest accolades of appreciation for their efforts.

Absolutely fantastic experience! Lark and Michael put their hearts into this labor of love, and welcomed us into their home as if we were one of their family members. It was beautifully appointed, clean, quiet, and very thoughtfully done. So grateful for their wonderful hospitality and I highly recommend it.

Lovelace Manor B&B has thought of everything. The innkeepers, Lark & Michael, were amazing. We stayed in the "Rose Suite" and it was so cozy, comfy & roomy. The sheets were AMAZING. We had lots of room, TV w/DVD in bedroom area and TV in sitting area The most amazing soaking tub. Everything was very clean. The breakfast was outstanding. If you go away from the breakfast table hungry it's your fault because there was ample food. They also had fresh baked cookies everyday we were there and a stocked butler pantry for our convenience. One of my favorite things was during our first morning during breakfast Lark sat with us and had coffee and shared info about the Amish community & customs that was interesting.

My wife and I spent our 3rd anniversary here. Great cute little B&B with excellent and friendly hosts. Wonderful breakfast, AMAZINGLY comfy beds and just a wonderful stay. It is located a little ways from downtown, but this is not a drawback. We rented bikes for a day trip and Lark and Michael were kind enough to let our rental place drop the bikes off early. They made it easy for us. My wife and I enjoyed our stay and would recommend this place to our friends and family.

My husband and I have stayed here 7 times and we'll definitely be back for number 8. The home is beautiful, the owners are personable and gracious and Lark's breakfast is always delicious. It's conveniently located to everything and the surrounding area is lovely. I recommend Lovelace Manor to anyone traveling through or near Lancaster.

Amazing innkeepers Lark & Michael helped make my stay memorable. They have a lovely home with decor from days gone by. Lark has Maps & directions to "off the beaten road" locations as well as tourists areas. Breakfast was amazing and so delicious. My bed was very comfortable the electric fireplace added ambiance and heat such a great amenity. This was my best B&B experience and would definitely stay again if in that area.

We really enjoyed our stay at Lovelace. From the moment you arrive you are made to feel welcome and provided all the comforts of home and then some. The location was close to everything we wanted to do in Lancaster, making the most of our unfortunately short stay. The house and room were beautifully decorated and the bed and sheets so comfortable! Breakfast was presented elegantly and very delicious; they were so kind as to make it gluten free for my wife. We felt they made our anniversary stay special.

The breakfasts were very tasty and quite filling and the availability of coffee and other refreshments was great. Definitely would stay again next trip that way!

Michael and Lark are wonderful hosts who give great directions to Amish Country. They also serve you an elegant breakfast so delicious and filling that you can skip lunch and just snack on an Amish Pretzel till dinner. We really enjoyed the porch in the morning and evening. A beautiful place to relax. Thank you!

Our two night stay at Lovelace Manor was exceptionally enjoyable. There wasn't anything I didn't love about it. The Manor and rooms are beautifully decorated. The McCarley's are wonderful hosts. The breakfast is served in a beautiful dining room. We spent the better part of one evening on the veranda chatting with the other guests and Lark. Lark is well versed on the historic info of Lancaster County, and served up much interesting information. The rooms are immaculate and very comfortable. The breakfasts were ample and delicious. The location is convenient to everything the area has to offer. I highly recommend Lovelace Manor. It's the most wonderful B&B we've stayed in.
Thank you so much for your kind review. I truly enjoyed our evening on the porch with all of the guests. We're so happy you enjoyed your stay and we appreciate your recommendation.

My husband and I recently stayed at Lovelace and it was wonderful. The room (Athea) although was there smallest is actually quiet large. The bed was comfortable and they provided everything you could need. The breakfast was delicious. I am Gluten Intolerant and Lark & Michael had muffins that were gluten free for me and she also makes her own granola which was amazing :) It was very wonderful. Lark and Michel were exceptional hosts. They had lots of information about where to go and what to do and where to eat that was helpful. (We ate dinner at The Aussie and the Fox one night...very good). My husband and I would definitely stay here again if we make it back up to lancaster :)

Our room was warm and comfortable and the breakfast was superb! We are going to return!

We stayed at Lovelace Manor mid-week for one night as part of a business trip. It was perfect. Centrally located, reasonable price, relaxing and way more fun than the usual chain. Lark and Michael adjusted breakfast time so I could make a meeting the next morning. Think about it . . . . David Basri www.pointent.com

We have been staying at the Lovelace Manor for 6 years. Every year we are more than pleased with the quality of the rooms, the cleanliness and the hospitality of the Inn Keepers! Every year we bring more of our friends with us to share the experience. If you are thinking of visiting Lancaster, you don't want to miss this place!

Lovelace Manor provided a delightful stay. The room was comfortable. The house was attractive. And the Innkeepers worked to make the stay memorable. Breakfasts were attractive, original and social; the innkeepers sat with the guests at breakfast and offered local insight into visiting the Amish country. There is little doubt that we would stay again at Lovelace Manor on our next visit to Lancaster.

We are a middle aged couple and visited for six nights on our honeymoon. We could not have picked a more perfect inn. Lark and Michael were wonderful hosts, and saw to our every need. The breakfast was delicious, and the presentation was second to none. I realized shortly after arriving that I had not brought a charger for my smartphone, and Michael had one he let me use during our stay. Lark has put together a back roads route, with many Amish owned businesses highlighted, which we fully enjoyed. They also lined up a meal at one of their Amish friends' homes for us, which was priceless. We would not hesitate to stay at Lovelace Manor again. Try it; you will not be disappointed!

Great room, great food, and great area! We are a younger couple with a taste for charming B&B's and it is hard to find one with it all. The Lovelace has a balance of Victorian decor with modern touches. The Innkeepers are fabulous, and very helpful! Lancaster has a lot to offer and the Innkeepers have a whole room full of suggestions from places to eat, to museums, and other great things to do while you are there. The house is flawless, and breakfast service is amazing and the price is right; we couldn't have asked for more on our honeymoon and wouldn't think twice about staying here again the next time we are in the area! It's just a GREAT place to get away!

We arrived in the middle of the Arctic freeze this January to find all the other clients had cancelled. Lark and Michael welcomed us into their B & B, sorted us out with a car and within 3 hours of meeting them, we were all on our way to dinner and a show at the local theatre. The following day having spent the day out in appalling weather we came home early to dry out and plan the evening. There was a tap on the door inviting us down to supper, and Lark and Michael shared their meal with us. And so the rest of our stay passed. We learnt a lot about the area, the best places to eat, visit and shop. But most of all about each other and each others cultures. A thoroughly relaxing and enjoyable stay with a friendly, accommodating couple. The room was grand and the property itself full of history and beautifully decorated with antiques and no less that 4 Christmas trees.

My wife and I were taking a one-day vacation while the kids stayed with their grandparents. We had a wonderful time at Lovelace Manor. We were warmly welcomed by Lark (Lark and Michael are the innkeepers), and our room, Lucasta, was beautifully appointed! Breakfast in the morning was delicious, and at the end of the meal we enjoyed a relaxing time talking with the innkeepers and the other guests. We would definitely return should we plan another B&B visit to Lancaster.

Just as good the second visit.. Mike and Lark go out of their way to make your stay as memorable and enjoyable as possible. The hospitality is wonderful; the breakfasts make you want to stay for another morning: and the total ambiance encourages you to just move in. Thanks for a wonderful stay and we enjoyed visiting with the other guests during breakfast. I think we all wanted to just sit, talk and have another cup of your special coffee.

I took my sister to Lovelace Manor (Rose Room) for her birthday gift. We spent two nights in a place that was just wonderful! I Lovelace Manor and WOW!! what a wonderful experience! I spoke with Lark the first time and she was very pleasant, personable, helpful and I just felt very good about our conversation. I called again when I was sure of dates and spoke with Michael...again, he couldn't have been more helpful! My 3rd call was answered by Lark and I booked our stay. She gave me all kinds of helpful information and said she would have maps of out of the way places we might like to visit (and we did). She also booked seats for us to see NOAH at a discounted price. You are still always leery! We arrived to a warm welcome by Lark and Michael and were given a tour of their beautiful home. Our room was absolutely beautiful with a little sitting room to read. Everything you see on line is exactly what we experienced. Then there was breakfast! WOW again...it was simply delicious...both mornings! We met great people and shared in nice conversation not only with other guests, but with Lark and Michael. I would highly recommend Lovelace Manor, not only is it beautiful but Lark and Michael are by far, the best innkeepers I have ever experienced! Thank You

We spent (unfortunately) only one night in this beautiful 1882 house and we had a very enjoyable stay. Lark and Michael were simply great host and made us feel home immediately. Since the very first contact by email, they were extremely thoughtful by providing us with a number of useful info, including tours and activities in the area. The room we stayed at was spacious, well furnished (with very nice details) and very clean. Delicious "tailored" breakfast. Parking is available, nice quiet area, great hospitality. To be recommended!

The owners, Lark and Michael, have made every visit of ours over the past 11 years a stellar stay. We have visited other B&B's over the years, but none can compare to Lovelace. Lark and Michael have thought of everything, from gorgeous Victorian decor, fireplaces in the rooms, a gameroom, and gorgeous gardens. The food is fantastic, and Lark and Michael are the kindest, most considerate innkeepers we've met. Prepare to be pampered at Lovelace Manor!

Lark and Micheal are the perfect hosts! Their home is beautiful and inviting. Th Lovelace Manor has all the charm of an antique home and all the amenities of a modern 5 star hotel. We will eagerly visit PA again and stay NOWHERE else.

We frequently visit B&B's after many years of business travel staying in chain hotels. I'm looking for comfort, ambience, quality and surroundings that I aspire to have in my own home at a reasonable price. Lovelace Manor has it all. But even more. At first I was a skeptic of so many high ratings when I reviewed this and other sites regarding Lovelace Manor. Having stayed here only two nights (they were full), I understand why so many guests rated it highly and are "repeat guests". Lark and Michael simply keep the Manor in wonderful condition and continually attend to the smallest of details to ensure your stay is perfect. The wraparound porch and garden are perfect for sipping wine from the nearby vineyards after a day of touring. There is so much to do in this area; it requires more than one trip. We stayed in the Rose Room with a king size bed and attached full antique bathroom, all decorated beautifully with old and new amenities. The suite had wonderful cross ventilation, sunshine and moonlight if you just wanted to open windows versus use fans, air conditioning, heating or fireplace (electric/gas, not sure). It had so many temperature choices! It included an attached reading/living room with second TV. and fireplace We are planning a second stay in the near future and will bring our Mom. I know now to reserve well in advance. This place is a secret to "those in the know"!

We had a really wonderful stay at the Lovelace Manor. The whole inn is beautiful, and we really loved our room. The innkeepers are definitely in the right business. You forget that it is a business. They are genuinely gracious, friendly, and helpful. We really enjoyed our breakfast, and we plan to visit there again in the future.

You would never know my pancakes were gluten free---they almost floated off the plate! Wonderfully comfortable beds! Lark and Michael are lovely folks with the gift of hospitality! Look forward to a return visit!! Sharon

Rich, warm, elegant, and relaxing are just a few words to describe my experience at the Lovelace B & B. My girlfriend and I had the pleasure of staying in both the Ellinda and Lucasta rooms. Both were exemplary - radiating an air of Victorian opulence and remarkable comfort. Not to mention the mouth-watering breakfasts which were extremely delectable and filling. The owners Lark and Michael showed great hospitality and worked diligently to make out experience a pleasant one - reminiscent of a stay at your grandparents' home.

We took our first trip back east from Seattle and stayed two nights at Lovelace Manor B&B. From the moment we drove up, we knew we had made a right choice! It is everything and more that they promise! Michael and Lark made us feel at home the moment we walked in. We were impressed with how beautiful their home is! Every room is a sanctuary and we just loved how it was decorated! Our rooms were amazing. So clean and the beds were SO comfortable! The port wine in our rooms were a special treat and we loved Michael's cookies! Lark's breakfast in the mornings were absolutely delicious, not to mention the lovely presentation of each dish she served. We loved sitting on the 'wrap around porch' each evening and to my surprise, the lawn lit up with firefly's at dusk and I was smiling ear to ear. It was here I saw my 1st Firefly! Being from Seattle, this was a Big deal for me. In fact it was on my bucket list. We loved the Amish tour they provided us with and wish we would have planned differently and stayed longer in Lancaster and less time in New York. Well...now we know! By the time we left, we felt like we had known Michael and Lark forever. You will not be sorry if you book with them! We can't wait to return!

Michael and Lark provided for us more than we could have hoped for in our first B&B experience. Lovelace Manor is elegantly beautiful yet quietly comfortable. This is a remarkable achievement in a home filled with gorgeous antiques and complete strangers. Yet Michael and Lark with their professional acuity and gracious hospitality make it seem effortless. We travelled north to look at a school for graduate studies and stayed in the Rose Suite with the sitting room. The three of us had our own bed and plenty of room to relax for the several days we were there. Michael and Lark were quite helpful to us in making our travel plans and arranging a meal in the home of an Amish family, which was a highlight! The breakfasts were delicious ... we still talk about them! and the opportunities to meet other guests from across the country was enjoyable as well. We sincerely hope to return!

We normally stay at B & Bs and we found the Lovelace Manor to be one of the our top B & B experiences. The inn keepers are welcoming and helpful and they assisted us in planning our visit in the area. The guest rooms are lovely, gourmet breakfast each morning, elegant but comfortable common rooms - Lovelace Manor is truly a jewel.

We broke our 14 hour drive from Raleigh to Lake George, NY in half with a one night stay at Lovelace. We haven't done B&B's for almost 2 decades. When we knocked on the door, I thought, what did I get us into. It felt like we were intruding on their living space, and would be stuck in our room. But, after a warm welcome, they gave us the tour. They live on the third floor, guest bedrooms are on the second floor, and the first floor living and dining areas are for the guests. Snacks and drinks are available 24/7 in the butler's pantry area. Very nice setup. Enjoyed a great conversation with Michael. Found we had both lived in several SoCal areas (Temecula, Vista, Escondido, Rancho Bernardo). Breakfast was wonderful (eggs benedict, fruit, pastry), and a no-meat version for me. Met some great people (other guests) as well. Will do more B&B's in the future, and hope to visit Lovelace again.

Upon arrival at this gorgeous Victorian B&B we were met by both Lark and Michael McCarley owners of Lovelace Manor. The beauty of this home was only topped by Lark's Southern Charm. We were most fortunate in that we had the opportunity to visit with Lark and Michael and to learn about the history of both the house and the Lovelace family. Lark and Michael were most generous of their time and knowledgeable of the area as we sat in the most lovely of Parlours planning our next day's trip to Gettysburg. The charm of our room and the house in general was equally matched by Michael's Eggs Benedict breakfast the next morning. This unforgetable experience has ensured a return visit to Lovelace Manor

I researched like crazy trying to find the perfect place for my husband and I to stay in the Lancaster area for our anniversary trip and Lovelace Manor Bed and Breakfast completely lived up to my high expectations. The minute we arrived Lark was so sweet and so welcoming and gave us a tour of the house. All the rooms were absolutely gorgeous and we felt at home right away. We booked the Rose Suite which was absolutely fabulous! When Lark brought us to our room she surprised us with putting rose petals on the bed in the shape of a heart and a bottle of sparkling cider with chocolates. The room also had a huge king size bed, separate sitting room, a gorgeous bathroom with claw foot tub, 2 TV's and 2 fireplaces. It was definitely fabulous and perfect for us! All the rooms of the house were decorated so beautifully you could really tell the love they have for their home. Lark and Michael were so helpful with recommendations for places to eat, things to do, etc. Now lets get to the yumminess of breakfast! It was truly out of this world and such a treat. Every morning was something different and presented with such class. She would set the table with pretty linens and fine china. You would have your choice of multiple juices (pineapple passion fruit was amazing), fresh brewed coffee, then start with fruit and move onto the main breakfast entree. Each breakfast was better then the next! It kept us full for hours! Then you have access to the pantry all day where you can have coffee, tea, water, soda, etc. She also made the most delicious chocolate chip cookies that she kept in the pantry every day. Then one evening Lark arranged for us to have massages in our suite, and the massage therapist Steve was fantastic! He brought his table, blankets, sheets, spa music, etc. It was a real treat. So I would completely recommend Lovelace Manor to anyone looking to get away for a fabulous trip. Thank you again Lark and Michael for such an amazing stay!

Our visit exceeded our expectations. Accomodations were much more comfortable than staying in a hotel. The bed was most comfortable and the food was outstanding in taste and presentation. They also went out of their way to pick up my camera after I left it at a museum and mailed it to me. They were gracious hosts and helpful in every way. Their dinner recommendation was outstanding.
