Gettysburg Getaway

5 on October 11, 2017

From the minute we walked into this B&B we fell in love. From the beautiful sitting areas, dining rooms, staircase, and our room (General Meade) it all was amazing. But it was the special touches that made our stay memorable. Our check in was incredible due to Kyle who was in time period dress gave us a tour of the house and history and gave us plenty of suggestions for dinners and activities. The breakfasts were amazing and delicious as well. The location of the B&B was perfect and within walking distance to great little restaurants and pubs. I would highly recommend this place to anyone!

Outstanding B&B

We have always enjoyed our stays the many times we have visited Gettysburg. Recently friends joined us in a visit and their impressions mirror ours. The Swope is incredibly convenient to key points in town, parking and the battlefield. The staff are unfailingly welcoming and helpful and the breakfasts are always wonderful. The house is beautiful and so are the rooms. You couldn't ask for more.

Charming B&B

We have stayed in a few B&B's but have found Swope Manor to be the Best by far. Arrived Sept 21st, by having staff dressed in period clothing to welcome us and gave a history of the manor. The breakfasts were wonderful and very filling...so accommodating. Spent some romantic time on the deck with a quiet fire and a glass of wine. Made our time memorable and we will return... Loved the Northern Spy Chamber. Thank you

Stayed at Swope manor over Labor Day weekend (gettysburg suite and northern spy room). Honestly could not have been more pleased. Beautiful decor, comfortable rooms, delicious breakfasts, friendly/helpful staff, and most importantly to me, pristine clean. Loved it! Williams family Liberty, Ky

Everything was top notch and we had a great time. The location is perfect...it is right where you want to be. Restaurants and shops are steps from this beautiful B&B.

Excellent B&B

Swope Manor was a wonderful place to stay in Gettysburg. It will be our first choice each year when we travel to this enjoyable small town.

Perfect choice

We are from California and had no idea what kind of place Swope Manor would be. But from the moment we were greeted by Kyle in her earlier American dress until her hug goodbye we had all of the comforts and companionship of family. The rooms were above average, beautifully decorated and the breakfasts were outstanding. Too many B&B's serve too much food, Swope's was just right, but tasty and well presented. The free coffee, cookies and glass of wine were perfect after a long day in the Civil War battlefield. I cannot recommend it more. Barry Schulman

Always Perfect!

Great location, impeccable accommodations and a flavorful breakfast. Add the spirit of Gettysburg and you have a prefect retreat. Third visit to the Swope and we'll be back.

just outstanding - everything about it

We had a wonderful time and loved everything about Swope Manor

Continues to improve

5 on December 17, 2016

Our 3rd stay at the Swope and it's better each time. Last weekend we toured the Christmas Holiday House Tour & Tasting at various B&Bs. Others had a little bit of charm, but the Swope is in a total different class, and we proved why we'll never stay any place else. Not only is it the most charming, classy, comfortable, and elegant, it's a block from the square! And then you have a staff so friendly you feel like you're with family. Bruce's experience in the business shines thru with kindness, the ability to pick a perfect staff, and cook a meal like the best chef in town! Kudos to the owner! Chuck & Kris
