Oasis Near I-81!

5 on August 28, 2018

What a find! We're very particular about our stays even when driving the interstate highways. Our room was very clean and well appointed to finest detail. Nice spot to sit outside on beautifully landscaped patio. The breakfast was the best that we can remember and the coffee, superb, noting we didn't have to use our own French press and coffee that we bring to avoid the usual yuck served these days. Carlisle offers good dinners, too. Bruges was recommended and excellent.

An Amazing Find!

5 on August 20, 2018

So very happy to find this hidden gem on a spur of the moment getaway. We will be back, most definitely!

Innkeeper Response

lovely visit

5 on August 19, 2018

Just a stop on our travels to Maine! We were so honored to spend a night in such a historic little place loved the barn and everything around it! Katie and Robin were delightful and very accommodating. We enjoyed sharing innkeeper stories and information as we are innkeepers as well. Carlisle was a pleasant surprise! Thanks for sharing

Truly Outstanding

5 on July 31, 2018

We don't usually give the highest rating when evaluating an accommodation or service but this B&B deserves the top grades across the board. Kit and Robin are gracious hosts and run a beautiful B&B. Breakfast is superb. This is the third time we have stayed there (once under the previous owners many years ago) and plan to go back next summer on our way to and from the Adirondacks. Horse Stayover

5 on July 28, 2018

I stayed over two nights on the way to and back from my destination. It was a short distance off of the interstate. There was an electrical hook-up for my rig and it was easy to get into and out of our spot. The paddock for our horses was roomy with grass and a nice run-in shed. Robin had the water buckets filled and cleaned up after our horses at our departure. He offered a wheel barrow to clean out our trailer and there was a water hose and trashcan right by our hook-up. We did not eat in the inn, but they were gracious with a bucket of ice for our drinks. I called Kat on the way there to ask about a tire shop near by, as we had a flat and needed the spare replaced. She didn't just give me names of shops, but made an appointment for early the day of our departure. I will definitely return. It was perfect and they went beyond the call of duty to help us out with the flat. Bonni Hannah

Exceptional service and property

5 on July 26, 2018

First of all the property is really nice! There are horse barns, a chicken coop, beautiful barns and a pond. The hosts are extremely helpful and welcoming and served the BEST breakfast. I would highly recommend this B and B

What a wonderful surprise!

5 on July 24, 2018

We stayed at this magnificent B&B in connection with a nearby wedding. Our hosts, Robin and Kit, were gracious, welcoming and helpful. Our room was charming, roomy and had all the amenities of a 5star hotel. Breakfast was yummy. The grounds were superb. Could not have asked for a better experience.

Beautiful, wonderful experience! My husband and I are so happy we chose to stay at the Pheasant Field; Kit and Robin made us feel so welcome and it was super clean and warm and welcoming! The breakfast was so good and we are definitely planning another overnight anniversary trip there! Thank you thank you.

Wish we could have stayed a week

4.6 on July 09, 2018

Needed accommodations on trip home to West Virginia from a family reunion in Syracuse New York. Have been through Carlisle many times but have never stayed overnight. So glad we found Pheasant Field B&B! Robin was so warm and welcoming when we made reservations. Kit is an excellent cook and made us feel right at home. Definitely planning to stay again next time we travel that way.

Nice Choice

Outstanding B&B

Beautiful old home, wonderfully situated on several acres with easy access to Carlisle. Absolutely delicious breakfast and wonderful hosts. Will definitely return for a stay with Kit and Robin again.

Our stay at Pheasant Field

4.2 on June 29, 2018

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The house and grounds were BEAUTIFUL. The service, food, our room, and the amenities were exceptional!!! we will be back! The home had a sign that said, "Come as guests and leave as friends"and that says it all!

Just far enough from the Interstate

5 on June 29, 2018

Exceptional get away place and still a short drive to restaurants and sites. Always a pleasure to stay here.

The Best of the Best

5 on June 27, 2018

My wife and I have stayed in many B & B's and Pheasant Field was the best stay of them all. Kit & Robin are true professionals at running a B & B but you actually feel like your staying at a family members home. They truly make you feel at home. But the COO of this business is Rehab. Without her overseeing the daily operation and greeting every guest that comes in, I don't think it would be as successful. Just kidding of course. Fantastic place to stay. 5 stars in my book.

Great stay

5 on June 25, 2018

We couldn't have been happier with our stay at Pheasant Field. Kit and Rob were wonderfully gracious hosts. The inn has loads of ambience. We strolled the property that would be a fantastic place for a party or wedding. We will certainly return if we are in the area! Highly recommend a stay.

Lovely stay

5 on June 19, 2018

Everything was wonderful - comfortable and cozy room with all amenities; lovely hosts Kit and Robin (and their sweet dog Rehab); delicious home-cooked breakfast; beautiful grounds. Hoping to come again!

Wonderful Country B&B in Carlisle

4.8 on June 17, 2018

The setting is beautiful and the house, patio, dining room and bedroom are extremely comfortable. The breakfasts were delicious. I really enjoyed sitting outside watching the birds. Kit and Robin are excellent hosts.

Doug and Mary McGaw's comments

5 on June 13, 2018

We had a wonderful visit for many reasons. Our main comment would be the warm and welcoming atmosphere made us feel at home. Our hosts were very friendly and accommodating and did everything they could to make us comfortable. Our room was very pleasing and lovely. I would gladly recommend Pheasant Field B&B to anyone wanting an ideal place to relax and enjoy themselves.

Home away from home

4.4 on June 11, 2018

If you want a quiet beautiful place to stay in the country then this is home. And you are likely to bump into friendly guests who all tend to behave like one big family.

This place is a must on your Bed and Breakfast to visit list

5 on May 16, 2018

Everything, from the beautiful and breath taking grounds,to the gorgeous detail inside the inn, to the luxury of my room and the heavenly sheets on the beds was fantastic. The inn keepers were wonderful, they at once made you feel like you were at home, so welcoming and charming and friendly. Every need was met, whether it was an extra pillow in your room, a question about what there was to do around the area, or even giving you a tour and history of the building and grounds. If you are a fan of history this place is also for you. The historic building and farmstead have a rich and vibrant history dating back to the revolutionary war as well as ties to the Underground railroad! The entire estate is filled to the brim with historic items, so if you like antiques this place is also for you. Beautiful stand alone pieces of history decorate the inn everywhere. The food is another win for this charming bed and breakfast. Every morning was a delicious delight as I would awaken to the smell of mouth watering food. The inn keepers are very accommodating if you have any allergies or dietary needs. If you enjoy the outdoors this place is also for you. Absolutely gorgeous views were all around me. I was delighted by the lush spring plants, and beautiful rolling feilds. Natural archways made by stretching limbs of trees created gorgeous tunnels that you walked through. Across the small road from the inn there sits even more nature to explore. A wide yawning lake ripples softly as swans float by, a walking labyrinth made of palm sized stones sits off to one side and Victorian era benches speckle the landscape. I cannot recommend this place any higher. If you're thinking about checking this place out, do it! You won't regret it. A very happy customer, ~Jaclyn

Quick Trip to Carlisle PA

5 on May 14, 2018

Stayed at Pheasant Field for second time. This time just a quick overnight while picking up my daughter at Dickinson College. Love this place - not only clean but owners very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast is amazing - Kit provides either a savory or sweet option. Rooms are lovely. Place is so quiet at night. Will be back again.

Extremely pleasant stay, wish I could have stayed longer

5 on May 12, 2018

This is a beautiful and very large property with a great deal of attention put into every aspect of their accommodations. My dog and I enjoyed the added benefit of their "Petsylvania" room which has a separate entrance and includes several accessories available for a dog. Delightful, warm proprietors. Nice contemporary furnishings. Intelligently designed room. Very quiet while being mere miles from I-81. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to have breakfast but it looked and smelled wonderful. Will definitely return.

A day to remember

5 on May 12, 2018

We were greeted as if we were old family friends, we were given names of places to eat dinner that night and given a little history about the home, the land and how it is used for weddings. We met Robin, Kay was away for the weekend. We would go back there again for a longer weekend stay.

Perfect stay

Everything was perfect. Best breakfast ever!

First B&B experience

5 on April 18, 2018

This was my first time at a B&B, and couldn’t have picked a better one. The innkeepers were so welcoming when you got there. The rooms were really clean, the breakfast was so good! The property was beautiful, the house was clean. It was all around a GREAT experience. Highly recommend spending a weekend away here.

One of the best bed and Breakfast Inn near this area

5 on April 02, 2018

Pheasant Field B&B was one of the best place that we stayed so far near this area. Kit/Robin were amazing guys. The Hospitality of staff is really something that we should speak about. Robin and Kit made us feel at home. Our kid enjoyed so much with Rehab that she got up early before everyone of us after a tiring Appalachian Trail Hike. We will defientely recommend this and we will plan to visit this again. Breakfast is one of the best that we can speak off. Kids had more fun near the farm playing with Rehad/Quincey, lot of chickens. Kids could actually collect the eggs for the next days breakfast and lot more fun. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and very very informal. The rooms were maintained very well and the comforters are extremely clean and very nice quality. If you are looking for something to get away from the busy hours and wanted to have a relaxed nice time, this is highly recommended. We will defintely come back again. And this is very safe too..

Innkeeper Response
It was just great to have your family stay with us and Rehab really enjoyed all the attention she received from your kids. It was our pleasure to share our B&B and the surrounding Carlisle area with you and your family and we're happy you had such a good time. We look forward to your return trip!

We spent a very happy 3 days at Pheasant Field B&B. Kit and Robin were very welcoming, and offered lots of useful information about the area of Carlisle, including guidance for hiking and the Appalachian trail. Rehab the dog is very sweet and friendly. Breakfast was healthy and delicious. Our room was spacious, the bed very comfortable, we all enjoyed the tub. We will go out of our way to visit again!

Innkeeper Response
Thank you for your kind review and we're so pleased you enjoyed your stay with us! We hope you return soon for another visit!

Highly Recommended

4.8 on March 08, 2018

My wife and I needed a quiet and private place to stay for our 10th Anniversary. We came across Pheasant Field B&B in a several listings of PA B&Bs. It was always highly recommended. We now see why. We chose The Cottage although with a little reluctance because it is listed as pet friendly. We were assured there would be no issue. We arrived and were met in the parking area by Robin, one of our innkeepers. This destination was a surprise for my wife. Robin was great. The Cottage is a separate building. Kit, Robin's wife, and Rehab, the greeter/dog kept my wife entertained in the main building while I set a few things up in the cottage for my wife and I. Robin made sure I was situated. Impressions: 1) larger bedroom and living room than expected; 2) clean, clean, clean (no traces of pets at all); 3) accommodating innkeepers (went above and beyond expectations to respect our privacy, even allowing us an early check in when we called ahead); 4) Kit's breakfast was very good; 5) Rehab is a very "chill" dog. 5) Very pretty surroundings.

Innkeeper Response
It was a pleasure to have you and your wife stay with us and even better to know that your surprise anniversary get-away trip was just what you were looking for! We do our best to accommodate our guests requests, and again, it was our pleasure to have you stay with us. Thank you for your kind review and we do hope to have you as our guests again soon!

A great weekend retreat!

4.8 on January 22, 2018

From the moment we were greeted by the innkeepers, Kit and Robin (and their dog Rehab), our scrapbooking weekend retreat was fun and relaxing. From the impeccably-appointed rooms, to the top-rated restaurant-worthy cuisine, to their warm, cordial hospitality, we had zero complaints about our stay at Pheasant Field.

Innkeeper Response
Thank you for such a wonderful review! We look forward to your scrap-book weekend as much as you do! It's always a pleasure to greet your group, reconnect with everyone and marvel at the beautiful and creative work you all do with each album. We are happy you enjoy your stay with us and that you choose to come back each year taking advantage of the winter rates and the annual 'cabin fever' special prices. See you next year!!

Comfortable and warm b&b

5 on January 17, 2018

We had a great 1-night stay here on a long road trip. Warm, comfortable, quiet and clean. Much better than staying at a chain motel off the highway!

Innkeeper Response
Great to read you were comphy and cozy at Pheasant Field. We agree it's a much more enjoyable stay than a chain motel - and more personal. Hope to have the opportunity to have you as our guests again!

Awesome Stay

5 on January 17, 2018

We loved Pheasant Field B&B. Kathy was great and made sure we had everything we could possibly need. The cottage was perfect for us as we are early risers and did not have to worry about disturbing the other guest. We have already recommended Pheasant Field to all our friends that love to travel. Pet friendly is a plus an Rehab the resent pup was a sweat heart. We will stay here again on our next trip to the area.

Innkeeper Response
Thank you for a great review and for recommending us to your friends! Kathy is an excellent staff member and always so attentive to our guests. We hope to have you (and your friends) stay with us again soon!

Our stay at Pheasant Field B & B, Carlise, PA

5 on January 07, 2018

Great facility. Very nicely appointed with great attention to detail. 1805 brick, central entrance colonial - classic architecture of that period. Hosts were terrific and breakfast was excellent. Hope to return. Horses and pets are welcome as it is also a stable and riding school. Two of our fellow guests were on their way to Tennessee from Vermont and had their horse with them overnight.

Innkeeper Response
We're so pleased you stayed with us this month, and that you enjoyed the company of other guests as well. One of the many delights of staying at a B&B is the chance to meet other travelers at breakfast. Thanks for the compliments to us and we hope to have you visit us again!

- Kit & Robin (innkeeper)

Not often rate 5 stars, Pheasant Field is exceptional

5 on December 15, 2017

A great place to stop, we travel with horses/ cats & dog, which the Inn is able to accommodate away from the main quarters. We have stayed before and all are relaxed and comfortable. Kit's breakfast is great.

Wonderful place for people-fabulous if you travel with Dogs and/or horsrs

5 on December 05, 2017

What a delight to stop overnight here! Our Horses had two large paddocks with shelters, and we enjoyed a cottage with a kitchen, bathroom, a living room and a bedroom with our two dogs. Very clean and comfortably furnished. And the breakfast....delicious indeed! Love this place!!

A Fine Property Managed by Fine People

4.8 on November 21, 2017

This property is beautiful, well managed, and well maintained; quietly pastoral; and a short distance away from a major highway intersection. My wife and I stay regularly in traveling between Ohio and New York.

One word . . . AMAZING!

5 on November 08, 2017

I can not say enough positive things about our stay at Pheasant Field B &B. Kit was AWESOME! Her breakfast was nothing shy of FABULOUS! She made us feel welcomed and at home. Her welcoming committee "Rehab" also made us feel right at home. If you are considering staying here, look no further. You will not be disappointed.

Anniversary visit

5 on November 05, 2017

This was our second visit at Pheasant Field. We stayed in Suite Remembrance, which is a lovely and spacious room. Breakfasts were delicious. The area is beautiful in October. Kit and Robin are such friendly hosts, and we loved getting reacquainted with Rehab.

Great stay

5 on November 01, 2017

A true bed and breakfast experience. The owner, Kit was very accommodating and friendly taking time to chat with us and swap stories. Turns out we grew up in the neighboring towns. The rooms were cozy and clean. Rehab, the name of the dog was probably the most well behaved and affectionate dog I ever encountered. Great all around stay!

Anniversary visit

5 on October 25, 2017

Our second visit to Pheasant Field was even better than the first one 3 years ago. We stayed in Suite Remembrance, a lovely and spacious room. Kit and Robin are wonderful hosts, helpful but not intrusive. The breakfasts were delicious. And we love Rehab. Pheasant Field is highly recommended.

Innkeeper Response

Can’t wait to go back!

5 on October 13, 2017

We were on our way home from a business trip and decided to stop for the night. My wife called local B&B’s. She spoke to Kit and the location and price were right so we decided to give them a try. It was one of the best moves we made of the trip. We were greeted by Rehab at the door, accompanied by Robin. Check-in was quick. Our room was beautiful. Big comfortable bed and everything we needed. Robin gave us a great recommendation for dinner in town, which was only about 10 minutes away. The morning breakfast was fantastic. Delicious scones started us off. A delicious frittata made with in season locally sourced ingredients. Coffee was also very good, which is important. Kit spent some time with us and was delightful. We already told a few people about Pheasant Field and hope to be able to go back in the not to far off future.

Innkeeper Response
Isn't it great when things work out so much better than you expected!!! It was a pleasure to have you as our guests and we're happy you enjoyed your stay with us! We hope to have you as our guests again soon, and perhaps on a regular basis! We truly enjoyed chatting with you and learning about your business. Thank you for the gracious compliments and for choosing to stay at Pheasant Field Bed and Breakfast. Come back Soon!!!

A lovely last-minute getaway

4.8 on October 10, 2017

My husband and I booked a last-minute, one-night stay during a road trip to Pittsburgh. Even though we arrived at 10 pm, Robin was there to welcome us in. Our room was cozy and clean. The water pressure in the shower was a bit low, but that is to be expected with an old house! Kit's cooking was outstanding (we are going to have to try to recreate her delicious frittata) and we had time for a stroll around the beautiful property before getting back on the road. Would definitely recommend, and would stay here again - relaxing and a great value!

Innkeeper Response
Thanks for the wonderful compliments and I hope you prepare a fritatta for yourself when you get home! We are happy you chose to stay with us on your trip to Pittsburgh, and we hope to have you as our guests again soon.

Anniversary Revisit

4.8 on October 02, 2017

This particular B&B is special to me and my husband because we were married there 21 years ago. Everything about our stay was fantastic. We were even able to take our dog. The room was set up with a dog bed, pet dishes and a sheet so she could sleep on the bed. The food was fantastic and the setting is very peaceful and serene. We will be returning.

Innkeeper Response
We were excited to meet you both, and are happy that after 21 years, you still found Pheasant Field Bed and Breakfast to be fantastic! Hopefully you come see us again soon. We'd enjoy that!

The owner Robin makes this inn to be a five star place

5 on September 26, 2017

My husband and I stayed at this beautiful B&B recently and had a wonderful time! Kit and Robin were welcoming hosts and made the perfect stay, even more so! We celebrated our wedding anniversary as well as my recent US citizenship, and they were a part of that celebration. Thank You. Judy and Bob

Restful space in the country

5 on September 16, 2017

If you love the country quiet, open space to walk, breath and unwind. This might be what your looking for. Being an artist and animal lover, the gentle dog, Rehab, barn cat, friendly chickens were an unoected pleasure to pet and paint. Our room, The Appalachian was just the right amount of space to unpack, stretch out and rest. It was clean and get like home with a high bed and beautiful quilt. Breakfast was delicious including sausage, crustless quiche, fresh fruit, juice and coffee. There is a large lawn in front of the Inn with a park like area beyond a few winterberry bushes. A secluded little area with benches overlooking a large one with fountain. I'm looking forward to a return trip to just decompress from D.C.

Great B&B

4.8 on September 13, 2017

Enjoyed our stay. Great B&B with great hospitality from the innkeepers and the official greeter. Good access to the Appalachian Trail. Hope to be back soon.

Round trip

5 on September 08, 2017

We made stops on our North-South trip and return. We stayed in the Cottage and Petsylvania rooms. The rooms are exceptionally clean and the kitchenettes were very handy because we had our dog with us. They were very accommodating to our dog. They are truly pet-friendly. Sometimes pet-friendly places have so many rules and restrictions that do not make you feel welcome. We felt very comfortable because of the relaxed atmosphere.

Pheasant Field B&B

5 on September 07, 2017

We loved everything from the secluded room attached to the house, country setting, delicious breakfast and delightful hosts (including, or perhaps, especially, Rehab the sweetheart Labrador Retriever, who is the official greeter). I especially loved listening to the sounds of the country while outside, so soothing! We will definitely be back! Thank you very much.

Innkeeper Response
We're happy you enjoyed the peace and quiet of our surrounding countryside at Pheasant Field. Come back soon for another visit!

Clean friendly stay with a delightful country setting. Friendly staff and great food. Would definitely come back when in the area again. Robin and Kit were great hosts. (Bill and Jane)

The perfect Bed and Breakfast

5 on August 04, 2017

We stayed at the Pheasant Field B&B about 3 weeks when we were driving from Rhode Island to South Carolina. We only stayed one night, but wish it had been longer since it was a wonderful experience. Kit and Robin are perfect hosts. They are helpful, but unobrusive. We got a great dinner recommendation, walked the beautiful grounds, and had an absolutely superb breakfast. We will definitely route ourselves through Carlisle again. It is one of the best Bed and Breakfasts we've stayed in, and we have stayed in many.

Innkeeper Response

Cozy, Beautiful and Space to Roam with a 2 y/o

4.2 on July 26, 2017

We loved our little visit to Pheasant Field B&B. Robyn and Kitty were so kind, and Kitty's breakfasts are delicious. We, our 2 year old son, and 18 year old daughter all stayed together in the cottage while in town for a wedding. Our son loved visiting with Kitty and Robyn every morning, playing with Rehab (the very sweet pup) and tussling the friendly porch cat. Multiple times a day we'd walk to the pond and watch the ducks, visit the rooster and chickens - a definite highlight for our son! We felt welcomed and at home.

Wonderful Retreat!

4.2 on July 24, 2017

The Pheasant Field B&B was a wonderful place to stay after a day of hectic travel. It was a great place to unwind with many options to enjoy the beautiful setting such as the front porch or patio overlooking the paddocks. The excellent breakfast was a perfect way to start a new day! We would certainly return when in the area.

What a wonderful place to stay during a visit to Dickinson College. We were able to enjoy a reunion on campus and then get away for the peace and quiet of Pheasant Field. Rooms lovely and clean, gardens so pretty, breakfast delicious and the owners are so nice. Rehab, the dog, was a delightful bonus!

Enjoyed our stay at Pheasant Field, right outside of Carlisle. It is conveniently located just a few miles from Route 81 and Carlisle, but has a quiet country setting. Our room was clean and comfortable and our breakfast was delicious. Kit and Robin are perfect hosts.

Exceptional Inn in a beautiful setting

5 on May 24, 2017

My two night stay at Pheasant Field B&B left me wanting more. I can't wait to visit with Robin, Kitty, Kathy and Rehab again. It is one of those special Inns that make you feel as if you have just "come home". Robin was very helpful with dinner suggestions and the breakfasts were healthy, delicious and hearty. Our room was very comfortable with luxurious linens and pillows to spare. Set out of town it is a safe place for walking and a quiet area for sleeping. Just perfect!

Truly accomodating

4.6 on May 17, 2017

I originally booked a Friday evening, then found out I needed to arrive earlier at an event, and had to book for Thursday. I messed up the reservation, and ended up booking another Friday night by mistake! Kit called me within an hour, straightened it all out, and never made me inept or a klutz, (which I certainly was after screwing up the scheduling, haha). Got there on a Thursday night, had a quick tour of the fantastic barn and grounds, and got recommendations to a great restaurant in Carlisle. Room was immaculate, breakfast both mornings was perfect, and they really took an interest in making the whole stay simple, relaxing, and worthwhile.

Everything about our stay was perfect! We enjoyed the host's hospitality, their delicious breakfast and the beautiful property the house is on! The location of the B&B was wonderful- It was great being so close to the town for a plethora of dinner options. It was also just as nice being so close to nature on the Appalachian Trail. We definitely recommend this location for anyone looking to get away!

5 on May 02, 2017

Once again we thoroughly enjoyed our visit! Unfortunately, it was too short and we couldn't visit the very interesting city of Carlisle or have the opportunity of walking the lovely grounds of Pheasant Field B&B. We both have special dietary concerns and Kit always prepares a breakfast that is attractive, delicious and well-suited to our needs. We are already looking forward to our next "time away from home" and plan to stay at Pheasant Field B&B many more times.

Innkeeper Response

Perfect Getaway

4.6 on April 04, 2017

This was a getaway for my daughter, daughter-in-law and granddaughter and myself. Unfortunately my daughter pulled a muscle in her back the day before and was very uncomfortable. Kit supplied a heating pad and was very helpful. Except for our concern about my daughter we had a wonderful time. There is so much interesting history with this building and grounds. Rehab, the official greeter was the icing on the cake. I have assured everyone we will do this again next year.

The Perfect Place!!

Superb time at Pheasant Field

5 on March 30, 2017

My wife and I would like to thank Pheasant Field for an excellent B&B experience last weekend. We enjoyed very much the comfort the inn offered as well as its interesting history (we really enjoyed hearing about the history!). Innkeeper & staff hospitality in a stately but very relaxed environment served to make us to feel right at home from the moment we arrived. Accommodations were outstanding, breakfast was superb, and the folks who make it all happen were wonderful! We will for sure plan to be back, and meanwhile look forward to that next visit. Thanks Kit, Robin, Kathy, and Rehab, we look forward to seeing you all in the not too distant future.

Great Stay!

Innkeeper Response

Outstanding B&B Experience

A Real Gem

5 on February 01, 2017

About ten years ago we stayed at Pheasant Field B&B and liked it very much. Since we were attending a wedding in the area we decided to book a couple of nights there again (January 2017). The B&B was even better than we remembered. The rooms are all very well appointed, clean and cozy. The breakfast was fabulous. The new owners (three and half years now), Kit and Robin, made our stay a real joy. Their dog, Rehab, will steal your heart as well. Meeting these folks was the best part of our visit. It was great interacting and talking with them. We wish them many years of success in running this truly outstanding B&B. A GREAT value. JIm and Renate DuBois

Innkeeper Response

Our 50th Anniversary Get-away

5 on January 21, 2017

We so enjoyed our stay at the Pheasant Field B&B. Everything was beautifully decorated, warm and inviting. We found the history of the home so interesting and loved all the stories of its past. Robin and Kit were very attentive to our dietary needs and presented scrumptious gourmet breakfasts. The evenings by the fire made us feel comfortable and "at home". We couldn't have had a nicer time and look forward to our next visit.

Robin and Kit are amazingly hospitable, the breakfasts are to die for, and the B&B is cozy and comfortable. Since we are avid hikers, having this B&B so close to the Appalachian Trail for day hikes was a plus.

Perfect get away

5 on October 13, 2016

I thought my wife and I were the world's coolest couple until we met Kit and Robin. You can feel the love these two share and its makes their Inn the absolute perfect place to stay. Rehab adds such charm to the family that it is hard to imagine ever staying anywhere else in the Carlisle area again. The room was so comfortable and the entire grounds very welcoming. There are so many added treats to enjoy as well. The natural alarm clock of the roosters crow, a great little patio to enjoy a nice fire pit, wonderful conversation and other guests obviously as enthralled with the place as we were, and so willing to add friendly conversations to make the visit even more enjoyable. We stayed three nights and every breakfast was fantastic and different. We immediately booked a return trip upon our check out on our last morning. Pheasant Field is just a few minutes out of town, but so peacefully set in the Country, it will be loved by everyone who stays there. We are certainly huge fans and cannot wait for our next stay with Kitty, Robin and Rehab.

Innkeeper Response
Your review put a big smile on my face and really warmed my heart. Robin and I truly enjoy everything about Inn-keeping, from meeting guests, serving breakfasts, taking care of our property and promoting Carlisle and the surrounding area. We are thankful to have served you as our guests, and we hope to have the opportunity to have you stay with us on your return trip(s) to Carlisle! Rehab is of course, the star of the show around here, and she will be waiting - wagging - upon your next arrival!

Forever Thankful ....

4.8 on September 01, 2016

Just discovered last year and forever thankful . "Corvettes at Carlisle" is the reason we've stayed the past few years and booked for next year each time. At the end of each day we find ourselves "going home", not back to the B&B. That's how Kit & Robin make us feel - at home. The gourmet breakfasts, delicious. The house and grounds, beautiful. Knowledge of the local restaurants, spot on. One exceptional staff member is Rehab, the Black Lab, a charming, calming presence who loves all and all return in kind. Pheasant Field is a true diamond set in the green fields of Carlisle.

Peaceful Oasis

5 on August 07, 2016

We enjoyed the peaceful setting of this beautiful B&B. It was so nice to arrive to find peace and quiet after a stressful day of driving in heavy traffic. We enjoyed walking the grounds and the charm of the home. We stayed in the Library Room which was prettier than the pictures and very comfortable. The home was very clean and Kit and Robin were welcoming. I would recommend their B&B to anyone looking to relax and get away from it all.

Epitome of a Bed and Breakfast

5 on July 27, 2016

Owners Kit and Rob Stauffer ARE the Pheasant Field B&B. The experience is fantastic because they are fantastic. Even though this was our first stay, as soon as we arrived they met us at our car, helped with our luggage, and from the onset, made us feel like we were visiting close relatives. Each guest receives such personable service and very genuine warmth. The property is amazing, with well appointed rooms full of style and grace. Breakfast was truly gourmet and we enjoyed chatting with both Rob and Kit during our meal. Overall, this was perhaps the best bed and breakfast experience we've ever enjoyed, and we've traveled extensively. Again, the hosts go out of their way to make you feel at home and it is they themselves that make this a truly remarkable getaway. And of course their dog, Rehab, is definitely part of the family and most assuredly an essential part of the atmosphere. We are already planning another visit to Carlisle so we can again enjoy the warmth of Pheasant Field B&B.

Outstanding in every area. Will go back for sure!

5 on June 22, 2016

This is the second time we have patronized the Pheasant Field B&B. Once again the rooms were immaculately kept, roomy and stylishly decorated. Our breakfasts were always deliciously prepared with both a sweet or savory option to choose from. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and maintained and they generously offered us a place to park our suburban and enclosed car trailer when we returned from the car show at the fairgrounds. Most especially, are the friendliness of the innkeepers, Kit and Robin, who make you feel like their home is yours during your stay. We will definitely return when we return to Carlisle...without a question!

After 4 hours in the car in DC traffic (with a puppy - yikes!), we were about 1.5 hours late and Robin and Kit were gracious, ending each of my "we are going to be late" phone calls with "its more important to us that you get here. - drive safely!" Robin greeted us at 10PM and showed us our cottage. In the morning, Rehab greeted us with a hearty tail wag and escorted us to our table for breakfast. Kit makes WONDERFUL breakfasts! It even came with a breakfast "appetizer" baked apple that was out of this world! Our puppy, Summer, love the place. she slept on the doggie bed and saw her first horse! The property is serine and quiet and filled with well cared-for animals. We will be back for more of this. LOVE it here! -Kathy & Parry and Summer.

A great place to stay if you're in the Carlisle area. The hosts, Kit and Robin are friendly, as is Rehab the dog. The rooms are clean and well appointed and the grounds are a pleasant place to walk. Kit knows her way around a kitchen, making breakfast a delight.

A great place for a quiet weekend, right next to Carlisle , PA. Your pet will be welcomed. Kit and Robin provided help for my handicapped lifestyle, with a great menu, room, access and even a therapy dog! Area of farm is beautiful and town full of history and eateries.

Love this place!

4.8 on October 29, 2015

We travel with our dog and this is one of our best places to stay. The grounds are great. Plenty of space for our dog to explore. Have stayed here 3 times and everything is always perfect. Very clean room. Absolutely great hosts. And breakfast is always wonderful. While it would be nice to have a larger pet friendly room, just can't say enough about how nice this property is.

Altogether Outstanding

5 on October 01, 2015

Kitty and Robin are welcoming, gracious, and accommodating. Our room was spotless, the bed marvelous, and the antique furnishings both lovely and comfortable. And as for breakfast--delicious!!

A Great Place to Stay

5 on August 23, 2015

Simply a great place to stay with friendly and attentive hosts. It's not far from I81 or downtown. Breakfast was above and beyond with freshly baked bread and PA maple syrup. Make it a point to stay at Pheasant Field with its beautiful grounds and comfortable beds.

Excellent service, great value for the price

My husband and I had a very pleasant stay at this charming B&B on the way back from moving our daughter in at college this year. The bed was super comfortable, Kit and Robyn were very gracious, breakfast was absolutely yummy! We will definitely return, maybe stay in one of the suites next time.

Great getaway

5 on August 09, 2015

We stayed for just one night but wished it could have been longer. The property is lush and well maintained when you pull up. Then "Rehab" is there to greet you with a very friendly wag of her tail. The room was so nicely appointed with furnishings and as comfortable as you could want. And last but not least the breakfast was delicious. Robin and Kitty were very friendly and made the whole visit very relaxing and fun.

Excellent Bed and Breakfast in Carlisle

5 on July 01, 2015

We spent a lovely extended weekend at the Pheasant Field B&B while showing our classic car at the GM Nationals. Altho a rainy day put a bit of a damper during the car show event, our stay could not have been nicer at the B&B with the innkeepers, Robin and Kit. They made us feel right at home even tho this was our first time there and we would not hesitate to go back should we travel to Carlisle in the future. Fantastic setting, lovely accommodations, delicious breakfasts, and friendly atmosphere. Overall Five Star experience! Ronnie and Hank

We were so happy to be back to Pheasant Field! We travel with 2 horses, 2 dogs and our beloved Ragdoll cat. We love the 'Petsylvania' room as we can see the horses and we are so handy to the dog walk area. Kit and Robin are wonderfully friendly hosts and we look forward to our next visit!

Peaceful Retreat

4.4 on April 29, 2015

Pheasant Fields is a wonderful getaway whether you are attending the events in Carlisle or would just like a little quiet time. The hospitality that you receive from the innkeepers, Kit and Robin, is warm and inviting. Their dog, Rehab, will greet you on your arrival and sit with you during breakfast hoping to get a crumb or two. We always prefer to stay her over the other B&B's in the area.

Outstanding B & B Experience

5 on April 22, 2015

As always our stay at Pheasant Field exceeds our expectations. We arrive tired from a long days drive, with horses, dog and cats in tow and Kit and Robin greet us with all in perfect readiness! It is truly our home away from home when we travel! C. & D. Rees-Potter

Our second stay at Pheasant Field B & B

Worth going out of your way to have a stay here

5 on April 02, 2015

We're regulars here and when traveling to friends or family on the East Coast always plan our travel to have a stopover at the Pheasant Field. Even a one-night stand recharges the batteries. It's all good.

Nice quiet getaway

4.6 on April 01, 2015

It was our first time staying at this B&B, and it was more than what we expected. It was very quiet and privet, yet the inn keeper was very personable and genuine. The breakfast was beautiful and flavorful. We only wished we had stayed there more than one night. Highly recommend this place!

Wonderful B&B close to our home.

5 on March 12, 2015

The accommodations and customer service here is wonderful. The stay was quiet and peaceful, the breakfast was delicious, and the atmosphere is very comfortable.

Traveling through with horses.

5 on February 17, 2015

We were traveling from Maine to SC and needed a half-way point to rest for the night. 3 people and 3 horses. We sleep in the trailer but the horses had great accommodations. Large, airy stalls and private barn. The owners, Kit and Robin, were friendly and helpful. They were prepared for us to pull the rig in, stalls were clean, walks sanded, and water in the stalls. A great place to stop on the way through.

My B&B in Carlisle, PA

5 on December 18, 2014

This is a adorable, historic B&B just outside of Carlisle, PA! Everything about my stay was exceptional - the room, amenities, friendliness of the owners all the way to a custom-cooked breakfast. Wow! Really can't wait until I'm in the area again and can stay over - it's that nice...

Beautiful Setting, adorable home, relaxing stay

4.4 on September 24, 2014

We were warmly welcomes by the owner and his quiet but friendly and courteous dog when we arrived, and were given A+ treatment as we settled in for the evening. Breakfast was simply amazing, and the owners were courteous, respectful, and helpful in every way we needed. The room we stayed in was cozy but spacious. We chose a room for its affordability, and though it didn't have the best view in the house, it was a fine view, allowing plenty of sunlight in when desired. We would definitely stay here again, and would highly recommend this B&B!

Beautiful B&B with Excellent Service! :)

5 on September 17, 2014

I always have my dog (a Doberman) with me, I'm typically looking for a pet-friendly hotel. While some are quite nice, they are hotels, and traveling dogs like to bark at every single noise. I found Pheasant Field Bed & Breakfast on and decided to check them out. We arrived on Sunday, August 31st; the Innkeeper, Robin, came out to greet us, offer help, and show us to our room. He made sure to get my dog's and my mom's name, and showed me the room. We stayed in the Pet-sylvania room (one of three pet-friendly rooms). Adorable room, with microwave, coffee maker, dishware and cutlery, even a dog bowl! All very nice, antique furnishings. Heat/air controllable in the room. A spacious bathroom well-stocked with their custom toiletries, extras in the bathroom cabinet so we didn't have to ask. The spacious dog walking area was right outside of our room. They also own two acres across the street with walking trails, a fountain, and a Labyrinth. Well away from high traffic areas, it is incredibly peaceful and relaxing. We left the window open at night to hear the crickets (I love them) and frogs. Up early the next morning for breakfast, I was greeted at the door by Rehab, their mixed lab. A wonderful dog, he stayed with me through breakfast, leaning against my leg while I pet him part of the time and then laying at my feet while I ate. The main house is beautiful, and I believe about 200 years old. It was originally part of the Underground Railroad. Kit, the other Innkeeper, had made fresh orange-cranberry scones. Dusted with powdered sugar, an excellent way to start with a glass of fresh orange juice. Then came a zucchini-potato frittata with tomatoes and a poached egg (fresh this morning from their chickens!), and bacon. Coffee and toast were also available. I HIGHLY recommend Pheasant Field B&B!!!! If you are traveling with horses, they also board horses for your stay. A beautiful inn, out in the peaceful countryside!! :)

Innkeeper Response
Thank you for your wonderful review and we are very happy you enjoyed your stay with us! We try our best to cater to all our guests, and make it a good stay for pets too. It's a pleasure to serve breakfast - our happy chickens provide us especially delicious eggs to go with our home grown vegetables! We look forward to your next visit.

The Corvette Car Show in Carlisle is the reason we started staying at Pheasant Field Bed and Breakfast many years ago. While we still attend the show, it is Pheasant. Field itself that calls us back the last weekend of every August. A beautiful brick home built in 1802 (part of the Underground Railroad) awaits us. Whether it is quietly contemplating the wonders of it all on a bench over by the pond, or swinging peacefully on the front porch swing with a good book or walking parts of the Appalachian Trail (only 1/4 mile from the house), it all takes hold of you and for a few days you are at peace with the world. Have to mention the delicious breakfast that awaits you each morning, served cheerfully by Kit and Robin. You must do yourself a favor and visit with the wonderful folks at Pheasant Field Bed and Breakfast. Julie and John Vasalani, Pittsburgh, PA

Innkeeper Response
We thoroughly enjoy having you as our guests each August for the Corvette Car Show. We take care in maintaining our grounds so you and other guests can enjoy the beautiful gardens, patio areas and our surrounding property. Thank you for the feedback on our breakfasts - it's great knowing you enjoy the selections! We look forward to your return in years to come!

Pleasant Stay

4.8 on June 30, 2014

We were greeted by a very pleasant owner and the official Pheasant Field B&B ambassador. (Their well behaved, tail wagging, happy dog. We were asked what time we preferred to have breakfast prepared and a menu was provided so we could choose beverages and an entree. The room was clean, comfortable and tastefully decorated with period correct antique furniture. The bathroom was clean and user friendly, fluffy towels, shampoo, conditioner, soap, blow dryer, etc. The breakfast area was bright and cheerful. The breakfast was delicious, served with coffee or tea, choice of juice and ice water. Would definitely recommend visiting their B&B.

Innkeeper Response
We are so pleased you had a great experience at Pheasant Field and thank you for your kind words. We want our guests to feel welcomed upon arrival, relaxed during their stay and satisfied with a specially prepared breakfast. Thank you for your visit!

This was our first bed and breakfast ever and we could not have asked for a better experience. Our room was perfect. We stayed in the Lady Pheasant and it was better than what we were expecting. It was very clean and very comfortable. The property is beautiful. The owners went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect. We will definitely be returning.

A wonderful place to relax!

5 on April 23, 2014

From the moment we arrived and were greeted by Robin and Rehab, we knew we would love this b and b. We were not disappointed. The dog friendly room was great for our needs and had all the amenities one would need. Breakfast each morning, prepared by Kit, was a testimony to her culinary excellence. The innkeepers were attentive to all of our needs, whether it be recommending a place for dinner or giving directions. We cannot wait to go back!

Fantastic Stay: A-

4.2 on March 16, 2014

The Suite Remembrance truly provided sweet memories for my wife and me, who hadn't had a get-a-way in many years. I enjoyed the fireplace and the fine care and craftsmanship taken with the room. Extremely cozy, clean, cheerful, and private. My only concern was that, even though check out was at 11:00 AM, when we returned from a nice walk around the pond at about 9:30 AM, someone was in our room already cleaning up trash and draining the nice bath I had prepared for myself upon returning from my walk. Yet my brief annoyance was overwhelmed by the welcoming gestures of Robin and Kitty and the amazing breakfast that they prepared for us.

Beautifully appointed room for my husband and I, plus our two dogs, as well as lovely accommodations for our two horses! And then there was breakfast...even serves it as early as 6:30 am for those of us who have to get up and get was delicious! Did I mention the grounds? Stunning, especially the private island and park like setting across the street! We will be back and spend a few days with our animals there next time!

Pheasant Field is THE place to stay..!!

5 on May 03, 2013

Chuck & Dee do an amazing job of not only making you feel welcome & comfortable, but right at home as well!! The place has tons of character, is a quintessential piece of Pennsylvania architecture, is always immaculate and just completely charming! The horse overnight accommodations are most handy as well!! Consistently wonderful experience!

I've stayed with Dee and Chuck several times on trips from North Carolina to Massachusetts and back with my dogs. Pheasant Field B&B is my favorite place to stay. The rooms are warm and welcoming and all the pet rooms have outside doors so I disturb anyone else. Dee's breakfasts are great. The B&B is so pretty and the land around it is beautiful. Dee and Chuck have been very accommodating and I can't recommend Pheasant Field enough.

A wonderful time

5 on April 09, 2013

We had a brief, but wonderful time. We stopped on our way north from South Carolina. We plan to stay at Pheasant Field B&B again this fall when we head south again. We would recommend this B&B without reservation.

home away from home

5 on March 21, 2013

A recent stay here was so relaxing and enjoyable. The innkeepers, Dee & Chuck welcomed us in with open arms. If I could give more stars I would. The rooms are lovely and comfortable. Breakfast was out of this world!! Although the weather was not good for exploring the property, we were able to stay in doors and still had plenty to do. I would recommend the Pheasant Field Bed & Breakfast to everyone who wants to feel like they are “home away from home.” Love it! Sincerely, “Reba”

Photos don't do the room justice!

5 on March 12, 2013

Although I picked the "Suite Rememberance" because it looked fabulous and cozy from the website, there was so much more that made the room. The private cozy deck had a retractable awning with a gorgeous view of the sunset over the horse farm and took my breath away. The room was so nicely furnished and decorated, I felt very at home. They seemed to think of every possible thing you could need away from home, including the adorable kitchenette in the antique chest stocked with dishes and such. I spent a long time in the Jacuzzi with the specialty bath salts supplied and used the towel warmer after. I would highly recommed this room! It also seemed very private, located at the other end of the house from most of the rooms. Also we got a great deal in January with a free night so it was that much better. The Innkeepers were away for a yearly trip but we were well taken care of by a friend of theirs who cooked an amazing breakfast every morning and made us feel at home!

Beautiful and Historic Setting, Warm Welcome

Veterans day weekend 2012 was a wonderful time. We met (3 couples) which live in different areas of the country, that we served in the United States Navy with some years ago. It was a special time made more special by the wonderful service we had during our stay at Pheasant Field B & B. The rooms are spacious and very clean. The breakfast was absolutely awesome, and the staff accommodated all our special needs. We had such a nice time, that we all already booked next year. Looks like another tradition has been started. Thanks D 7 Chuck for all the hospitality and a meaningful weekend.

Best B&B in the area

This was not our first stay at Pheasant Field and it won't be our last. It is our place of choice when traveling to the Carlisle area for events and family visits. The only problem is if you are lucky enough to get a room! Dee & Chuck are wonderful innkeepers and make you feel welcome. You won't be disappointed with the quanity and quality of any breakfast that they whip up for you and you'll never be more comfortable in your surroundings. Beautiful B&B and truly a home away from home. You'll want to keep their number handy for all your Carlisle stays!

The Pheasant Field B and B is wonderful.

5 on August 25, 2012

My husband and I have stayed at the beautiful Pheasant Field B and B for many years. Everything about the Inn is wonderful. The owners, Dee and Chuck are very nice and treat you like your part of their family and make you feel right at home. Their attention to details are excellence. Their breakfasts are so delicious. The rooms are very clean and have everything that you need in them. They are quiet, relaxing, and comfortable. If you need something special they will help you get it. In the kitchen area there is a small refrigerator with bottles of juice, water and soda and a snack bar for their guests. The gardens all around the Inn and the lake are beautiful. Of all the places that we have stayed, we love the Pheasant Field B and B the best and would recommend it to everyone. It is a very special B and B.

Pheasant Field cozy and comfortable like home

5 on August 18, 2012

Pheasant Field is like coming home for us every time we stay. We are in route to a Horse show and layover for one night here. My horse is truly at home and comfortable with her own paddock and nice, well bedded, large stall. She has a quiet rest before we resume our travel the next day. This makes a long journey so much easier on her. As for the humans, our room is very comfortable with everything we need , especially a very nice shower! Our breakfast in the AM is delicious and healthy with lots of coffee and tea to get us up for the next journey ahead. Dee and Chuck seem like family to us now, and we will always stay at Pheasant Field when we journey thru Pa.and up North.

BOOK IT! Do not hesitate.

5 on May 07, 2012

BOOK IT! Do not hesitate. Dee and Chuck were wonderful Innkeepers. We have stayed in several B&B's. The place was spotless. We were traveling through on the PA turnpike headed to Piitsburg and googled a place to stay half way that was not far off the turnpike to rest for the night and planned on leaving the next morning early. We got off later than expected because we could not resist taking a walk on the one of the routes that they had printed out for us to follow! It was great! The breakfast was delicious and the grounds were well kept with horses and roaming fields. We will for sure be visiting again and maybe stay a little longer next time :)

Our Favorite Weekend Getaway

5 on March 09, 2012

We've been going to Pheasant Field for nearly 16 years and always look forward to our next visit. Dee and Chuck are great innkeepers; they're warm and welcoming and they always take an interest in their guests. We've stayed at many B&Bs over the years and there have been times we've never even met the innkeepers. Dee and Chuck always come out to greet us when we pull into their driveway. They help us carry in our luggage and from the minute we arrive to the minute we leave, we feel pampered. We've come to know them well over the years and cherish our friendship. We'll continue to visit them every few months for as long as they'll have us. :-) (M, J, and S.)

Innkeeper Response
Thank you for much for telling other potential guests how much you enjoy staying at Pheasant Field! The fact that you return again and again says that our efforts to "do it right" are working! We look forward to the opportunity to serve you and your family again in the near future!

I recently had my sister's baby shower at this lovely place- it was perfectly wonderful. The owners, Chuck and Dee, are really very pleasant and accomodating. They truly helped this special day be as lovely and memorable as possible. It is a really cozy and inviting place- the grounds are gorgeous as well. It wasn't difficult to find and was accessible to people coming from all directions. In addition- Dee makes delicious blueberry pancakes!! All our guests remarked what a great place it was. My sister smiled the whole time- she remarked "This place gives me a warm feeling inside." Couldn't have been better!

Lovely Place

4.4 on May 17, 2011

I was there for a spinning retreat and everything was great! Our group basically took over the inn, and were treated like queens during our stay. I loved the refrigerator with drinks available any time. Dee and Chuck were helpful with everything. Although I'm really impressed with their recycling, I hate low flow shower heads. Its just a personal thing (I took the regulators out of mine!). I will definitely stop again when I'm up that way.

Getaway for our One Year Anniversary

5 on May 01, 2011

An overnight stay in the Suite Remembrance was a wedding gift we received from our friends. We decided to save it for our one year anniversary. We have never been to a B&B before, and even though this was only 15 minutes from our house, it was the perfect romantic getaway. Dee and Chuck are super innkeepers, and Flea the cat is happy to greet you when you arrive. Breakfast was scrumptious - fresh fruit, orange juice, coffee, fresh out of the oven apple-cinnamon spice muffins and persimmon bread. The broccoli and feta quiche was perfect! All of this and a side of country ham. Wow, we were stuffed. I would highly recommend this B&B to everyone.

Beautiful & Friendly!

4.0 on December 31, 2010

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our one-night stay at Pheasant Field. Dee & Chuck were very friendly and accommodating. They readily showed us around the place, sharing the history of the house, which includes a hiding place for the Underground Railroad and a barn that goes back to the French and Indian War. The house was very clean and nicely decorated for the Christmas season. Breakfast was delicious and filling, and there were cookies and drinks available for snacking.

A Must See and Stay

5 on August 03, 2010

My husband and I just spent a weekend at Pheasant Field B&B. It was fantastic, and our room, General Miller's Retreat was amazing. It was so warm and cozy, and more like a suite than a room. The king size bed was so comfortable! Dee and Chuck are wonderful Innkeepers, and Dee was right on target with her recommdations for lunch and dinner and her breakfasts were just delightful. We walked the grounds and I can see why one would want to have a wedding reception there, heck, I'd get married on the grounds, that s how beautiful they are. The pond and the bridge across the street are so romantic, just a great place to sit, enjoy the quiet and get away from it all. We will defintely be back - sooner rather than later if I have any say in the matter. Definitely pay a visit to the Pheasant Filed B&B and you will not be disappointed.

I was in Carlisle on business and decided to stay in a B&B instead of my normal practice of a chain hotel - what a great choice. The house is full of history and beautifully decorated and the grounds are very well kept and a joy to walk. And if you really want to walk (or jog) the Appalachian Trail is only 1/2 mile away. The only downside was that because of work, I didn't have near enough time to thoroughly enjoy the B&B and the surrounding area, but I will be back.

got everything

GoogleEarth makes it look like it's on a big road. It's NOT! Very quiet. Very friendly. Close to town. All the usual amenities, plus a little thing of tooth paste! How nice is that? I loved it!

Lovely rooms, delicious food

My second visit was as good as the first: clean, lovely rooms, great breakfasts, and gracious, relaxed hosts who give great advice on restaurants, hiking, and other things to do in the area. I'll be glad if I have the opportunity to return.

Exceptional B & B!!

5 on April 28, 2009

My husband and I were traveling home to Connecticut from South Carolina after attending the graduation of our nephew from Marine boot camp in Parris Island. It was a very long, hot ride and we were looking for a hotel for the night. I looked through the AAA book we had for Pennsylvania and Pheasant Field B & B was listed so we decided to call. We are so thankful we did. Our stay with Chuck and Dee was the best experience we've had in a B & B. And is sure does beat staying at a hotel!! Chuck is so helpful in getting you settled and pointing out the various information offered in their library and Dee is a great cook!! We are so impressed with their B & B and their hospitality that we already booked our anniversary weekend and can't wait to get back!! We both highly recommend Pheasant Field B & B to anyone looking for a place to stay!!

Great place

My wife and I stayed in Lady Amherst's library for two nights as part of a birthday celebration for my wife. It was everything I hoped for. Chuck and Dee were great hosts and made my wife feel very welcome. The room was marvelous. The king bed was comfortably firm (a king mattress on two twin frames). The bathroom was amazing; beautiful dark wood that was well light by a skylight above the Jacuzzi tub. It made for a perfect relaxation spot, which was important to my wife. It took a little inspection to find the Jacuzzi controls and it had the weird characteristic of restarting itself again after being shut off (just once each time...I might have misunderstood how to shut it down properly). The tub had the tendency to overflow a little behind the occupant, but the construction was such that it never became a problem...unless you have magazines next to you in the tub. :) The first floor location of the Lady Amherst room was located in secluded manner off the sitting room, which did not see general use although we did not rent that space. The only downside was that voices from the kitchen hallway could be heard clearly in the room, so it is better for early risers. An alarm clock was provided with nature noises that effectively masked the issue, so I would not hesitate to take the room again, regardless. Chuck and Dee also own a beautiful pond across the street with well maintained gardens and a bridge to a small island with contemplation benches and more gardens. My wife and I would go over to simply sit or walk every evening. It was gorgeous. I can see why they get a lot of wedding bookings. Overall, this a wonderful place to stay. Very convenient to Carlisle restaurants and shops. Oh, and Dee's breakfasts were a delight every time.

Best wedding EVER!!

On Sept. 27th my husband, Greg and I were married and had our reception at Pheasant Field B&B. Our families stayed at the B&B for the entire event. We were so happy with everything. Dee and Chuck are fantastic! Bubba is a great dog and is always checking to see if you might have a treat for him! The rooms are spacious and clean, the food is amazing (thanks Dee!) and the grounds are beautiful! If your looking for a place to host your wedding or just the reception like we did, look no further! This is absolutely the best there is! It is worth every penny. Actually, its a steal for the experience you'll have here. I can't say enough! If your on vacation and just need a place to rest your feet, stop here! You will feel so welcome that it could just be the highlight of your trip! The memories that have been made here are amazing and Dee, Chuck, and Bubba (and the cats) make you feel like your stopping in to visit with family! Thank you for an amazing wedding reception Dee and Chuck, we'll see you next September! Nicole and Greg Abel

What a FIND!

My husband is the typical type A personality and Pheasant Field took him down about 10 degrees. We had such a wonderful time and would recommend this establishment to anyone. It's away from the hustle and bustle but close enough to enjoy small town conveniences. We would be glad to communicate with anyone that would like a personal recommendation. We will definitely return to see Dee, Chuck and Bubba. FAGiron
