The place to stay

5 on August 31, 2018

This is a beautiful and well kept property. The interior has the real feel of an old country estate but with all the modern amenities integrated into the décor. The grounds are quiet and relaxing. The morning breakfasts are a real treat, especially as you can choose the time to be served rather than a fixed schedule. The hosts are very congenial but also respectful of your privacy. The only comment or suggestion I would make is that in the evening it would be nice if some music and lights were left on downstairs so that it is more welcoming as you return from dinner at one of the wonderful Jacksonville or Ashland restaurants. This is only my feeling others may like the quiet and peace akin to returning home after a night out. Overall this is a wonderful place to stay and makes a great base for exploring the area. if you want something more exciting that visiting wineries I suggest making a visit to the Woodrat mountain Paragliding launch site, sitting two thousand feet above the Applegate valley with it's magnificent views and if the wind and weather cooperate you can see the Paragliders launch and fly away. You could also take a tandem ride if feeling adventurous. We have been visiting the Jacksonville area for many years and this is really the place to stay if you appreciate the quiet ambiance of lovely old world charm.

Our second stay at the Willows!

5 on August 02, 2018

We have stayed at The Willows while attending the 4-day Country Crossings Music Festival in 2017 and 2018. It is a very comfortable and charming home with congenial hosts Joe and Sandy, and their pups Stuart Little and Minnie. Thrilled by Sandy's outstanding breakfasts, every morning! Bonus--convenience to Jacksonville shopping and Applegate Valley vineyards, as well as Table Rock hiking trails.

Friendly, helpful, great food, great view. Especially liked sitting on the back patio at the end of our busy days. Highly recommend this for your next stay.

Review of the Willows

Home is lovingly restored inside.....perfection. Grounds looked "tired" and run down. Pond overcome with sludge and plants dying. Greeting was less than pleasant by owners but breakfast devine and gourmet. It is for sale and owners seem very ready to sell and leave it behind. Joe never even said 'hello' let alone thank you.

We had never been to Oregon and had no idea what to expect. We were just staying the one night and it turned out to be a perfect choice. The grounds and the house are beautiful. Joe and Sandy were perfect host and hostess and we really enjoyed talking to them both. The breakfast that Sandy prepared that morning was excellent and a perfect start for our day. The room was cozy and very inviting. We didn't get to use the big tub in the bathroom but it gives us a reason to go back. The area in Oregon is a perfect example of the fall season. Thank you both for making us feel so welcome. The Hill's from Corpus Christi

What a charming place to stay! Cute room in a beautiful old house sitting on an idyllic property located within an easy drive of Medford, the river and Jacksonville. And the breakfast? Spectacular! This is our favorite place to stay when we visit the Rogue Valley.

Love the Willows!

The owners Joe and Sandy Dowling are very hospitable! Due to time constraints we couldn't stay for breakfast. Sandy made sure we had breakfast to go. Our room was delightful. We wish we could have stayed longer.

Lovely historic home.

Breakfast Surprises Await You!
Our European-trained chef uses only locally sourced, fresh ingredients and seasonal selections. Consequently, Willows breakfasts are always a delicious surprize at the inn! In the Fall, it could be fresh-picked Oregon apples, sauteed in agave and butter and glazed to perfection, atop a light and airy Dutch baby; in the Spring, it might be baby spinach greens topped with a smoked salmon, chive & egg timbale-smooth and perfectly seasoned, with some roasted Oregon baby reds; in the Winter, it could be some delicious spiced pumpkin flapjacks, with a plum jam sauce from a Willows tree, and freshly whipped cream; in the summer we might have some melt-in-your-mouth 49er peach beignets, lightly dusted with powdered sugar--each of the 3-course breakfasts is a unique mouth-watering dish, just awaiting the sensation it will create on your sophisticated palate!
