This was my first time staying at a bed and breakfast. I have to say it was absolutely awesome! The staff, the surroundings, the room, it all was amazing. My wife and I stayed here for our 2 year anniversary and it was stunning. I would highly recommend staying at The Lion and the Rose!

A lovely basecamp for exploring Portland and the surrounding area. Breakfast was phenomenal, and the perfect way to start a leisurely day away from home.
So glad you enjoyed Portland and our breakfasts.

This is an excellent B&B. The Innkeepers were very helpful with dinner suggestions and travel planning ideas. They actually suggested that we change our plans. As it turned out, that was an excellent suggestion. The breakfast was very nice. The best review that I could give would be that if we are ever in Portland again, we would definitely stay and the Lion and Rose B&B. John and Sue T.

The staff is exceptional in providing advice and counsel about how to match your interests with the wonders of Portland. They provide excellent maps, directions, historical information, etc. Do not fail to sign up for the excellent breakfast!

The B&B is obviously very nice, and the breakfast is up to expectations but, what really distinguish this B&B, is the professionalism of its staff and management. They make sure everything runs smoothly and will allow you to get the most out of your stay. It's pleasantly surprising, nowadays, to find people that know their business and mean it.

The decor and history are worth exploring. The hosts were entertaining and helpful. Each room was a different theme and a calm, peaceful haven. The room we stayed in was very comfortable, every comfort was thought of. The breakfast was served promptly, was hot, and delicious! The chef was willing to share recipes, and there was plenty for all. Snacks were available; the cookies were yummy and much appreciated at the end of the evening.

The Lion and the Rose is a wonderful B&B. Great neiborhood and close to restaurants. Steve and Dusty were a great resource for what to do and see. They have several maps as well. I cannot say enough about the guest house. Very welcoming.
