The Lion and The Rose B&B was simply outstanding! The owners were incredibly friendly and fun to talk to, the room was absolutely gorgeous, extremely clean, and had everything we needed, the food was fresh and delicious. it was so quaint and full of history, we really fell in love with this place and will definitely be coming back soon!

The Inn was used as a location in the Lonely Hearts episode of the TV show GRIMM. It was fun to see they changed the Inn very little for the show. The Inn is spotless, the bath products wonderful, and the food and tea selections were perfect even for someone with food restrictions. Perfect stay.

This bed and breakfast is exquisite. The history and details are well worth knowing and observing. The owners and staff are delightful and thoughtful. Stay here! Comfy beds, plethora of books, games, photos. The breakfast was perfect, and there is room for conversation inside and out. We enjoyed our time at the Lion and the Rose.

My honey and I decided to have a romantic "staycation getaway" and stayed here on a Friday night (we live in Portland!). Everything was absolutely magical!! The attention to detail is amazing, the dedication to design and Victorian decor is excellent, and the house itself has wonderful energy! Our evening and breakfast hosts were incredibly nice and informative and we had a fabulous time entertaining ourselves in each of the "parlors" in the evening. We will most certainly be back AND recommend this home to our out-of-town guests. Thank you! - Paula and Ruth

I return to Lion and the Rose at least three times a year to see family members in Portland. It has become almost a home for me. I value the pleasant atmosphere, the food, and especially the company.
5 on March 10, 2018
We stayed in the winter months, so we only had the continental breakfast but they had a good array of choices. I told Dusty that I work at a bed & breafast in wine country, I think this had to do with his very thorough tour... I enjoyed hearing about the history & stories they have! We stayed in the Victorian Apartment; I will definitely be back. Thank you so much for a wonderful mini “vacation” !!!
5 on March 05, 2018
We first stayed here during our wedding in October 2017. We were visited the region during the coldest weekend of 2018, took in a show , and dined nearby. Lion & Rose central location and coziness was very much welcome during our stay. We were easily able to leave our rental parked and walk all of our lunch and dinner choices. Of course, Dusty's breakfast was outstanding, as usual. When we have cause to overnight in PDX again, we will look to stay at Lion & Rose. - Shann & Sherrie Jones; Fairbanks, Alaska.

Dusty, Steve and their team took very good care of us during our one night in Portland. The Garden Room was impeccable. The downstairs sitting areas was perfectly peaceful on our Sunday morning.

The room and service was amazing and staff are super friendly but we went in the off season so the breakfast was just a continental breakfast.

A truly fabulous Victorian fantasy. Although the owners were not present during our stay, their assistant Kay was very sweet and helpful. We enjoyed our breakfast options, and appreciated our late afternoons in the comfortable parlor with our friends, comparing the fruits of our Williamtte Valley winery travels. Michael & Hugh

I have stayed at the Lion and the Rose on two occasions in Portland, OR. The place is just an "eye-full" for your eyes with beautiful antiques, little "treasures" historical tidbits. The two hosts/owners provide awesome customer service.
5 on January 22, 2018
The owners are onsite to greet us every time we stay. The rooms are lovely and well appointed. Food and coffee are good and the neighborhood is walking distance to good restaurants and public transport. Wonderful place. Our favorite when we stay in Portland!

My husband and I stayed at Lion & Rose for a recent anniversary, where we decided to celebrate with a staycation. We live in Portland and have driven by L&R a few times but had never stayed. When we arrived, we were blown away at the Victorian detail of the house design and decor, and impressed by the customer service and foresight given to tired, arriving guest needs. All of the details were well thought out and rooms were beautiful, comfortable and quiet. We look forward to another stay in the future and highly recommend this hidden gem for anyone coming to Portland or those looking for a romantic getaway. :)

Beautiful place and friendly stuff. Super comfortable bed and peaceful room. Only thing I would like for next time is more greens and healthier selection for breakfast. It would make my stay perfect!

I have stayed at The Lion and the Rose before and liked it so much I wanted to stay there again during my most recent visit to Portland. I was not disappointed - it is still a lovely, quaint home and the owners are very willing to try to meet their guests' needs. Breakfast was a treat. I will stay there again the next time I am in Portland!

We love to stay at Lion and the Rose whenever we are in Portland. The owners and helpers are stupendous and make us feel like this is our home too.

This was our second stay here but won’t be our last. The Victorian Mansion is beautifull and the hosts Steve and Dusty are great people. Very comfortable rooms and a great breakfast.
5 on October 28, 2017
Lion and The Rose is a very large Victorian filled with furniture and items from that era. Very comfortable with large indoor and porch spaces to relax. But also just a block away from a busy street with bar and restaurant choices and five minutes to the trams to all parts of Portland. Very helpful, accommodating staff.
5 on October 10, 2017
We had a family reunion here and brought snacks/ drinks/ stuff. We didn't need most of what we brought. All the little things are here. Just relax and enjoy.

Duffy and Steve! You two are the greatest of hosts. My daughter and I enjoyed our very comfortable stay.
5 on September 25, 2017
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Lion & The Rose. Everyone was welcoming and it was nice to have Steve join us for breakfast in the mornings. He was helpful with directions and advice about places to visit and to eat. They were extremely accommodating as our arrival time was delayed due to our being rear-ended by a truck (no one hurt!). They walked us through how to get in through the back door. It was nice to be in such a clean, friendly place when we finally arrived.
5 on September 23, 2017
We truly enjoyed our stay at the Lion and the Rose. The rooms were lovely, the staff were extremely helpful and Steve and Dusty were great about just sitting and sharing their suggestions regarding Portland.

I absolutely Love the Lion & the Rose! The home and its decor are stunningly beautiful! If you want to experience a true Victorian home this is it. The hosts are friendly and go above and beyond to make sure your stay is the best possble, from phones in your room, free WiFi and printer, Memory foam pillows, sleep number beds and many more extras. The 3 course breakfasts are cooked to perfection and snacks and drinks are available 24/7. The hosts are very accommodating and provide maps of the area and suggestions for your travels. The home is impecably clean which is amazing considering its size and the decor. I have traveled around the world and this is my favorite B&B. I highly recommend that you consider the Lion & the Rose for your next stay when in the Portland area and you will be glad you did.

We stayed in the Victorian Apt. It was beautiful and clean. The breakfast was amazing and the hosts were great. Plus it's within walking distance to the Mall and some great restaurants. I would definitely stay again.

My husband and I spent 3 nights at the Lion and the Rose situated in a beautiful neighborhood in Portland. The owners take great pride in welcoming us and providing all the information about the area and tourist attractions that beautiful Portland offers. Service was great, breakfasts were outstanding and the room was spectacular. This b&b is a historic site - very large house immaculately decorated in vintage furnishings. We would not hesitate to recommend staying here and would rebook if we were to travel to Portland in the future.

The Lion and the Rose Guest House has thought of everything their guests need during a visit. The bathroom is well equipped. The breakfasts are delicious, beautifully prepared, and plentiful, often with seconds available. The hosts, Steve and Dusty are friendly and helpful, as is their manager, also named Dusty, who is gracious, warm and welcoming. We would recommend Lion and the Rose to anyone visiting the Portland area.

This guest house is beautiful, with interesting items absolutely everywhere! We enjoyed our room and especially appreciated how cool the house stayed during a heat wave! Breakfasts are amazing at a beautifully set table. Conversations around that table were as good as the food!

My husband and I stayed at the Lion and the Rose 10 years ago, and the service, cleanliness, etc has not changed. Talked with Steve at breakfast, and enjoyed hearing about owning a B and B. The Lion and the Rose is a top notch place and would recommend it to anyone

Everything was great except the TV. Very little worth watching. Better to have rental movies or Netflix.
4.4 on August 02, 2017
Lovely bed and breakfast in a beautiful part of Portland. The maps made available by our hosts were very helpful. The history of the house was most interesting. No problem with parking and handy to public transportation, a plus for us.

A lovely and beautiful B&B establishment. The interior reminds you of what life must have been in the early twenties. The service is superb. The ambiance wonderful, Breakfast in the morning and for those who enjoy it, tea in the afternoon. This has been our third stay and we hope there will many more to come.
5 on July 04, 2017
Dusty and Steve and the Lion and Rose were all wonderful for hosts for our biannual reunion. This was the largest of the gatherings yet with a total of 15 coming from around the country and world. The setting was perfect! Everyone loved the front porch during the day and the atrium for evening gatherings. The rooms were sweet, the apartment below deck was great and helpful for late nights. Service was excellent. Everyone there was helpful and friendly. Breakfasts were excelllent and fostered many a great conversation. The house itself is absolutely beautiful and filled with places to sit, lots of local information and even fresh fruit and cookies. Thank you Dusty and Steve!
4.4 on July 01, 2017
Pros: large, beautiful Victorian house, charmingly decorated in lion and rose theme. Lots of extras, including beverages, treats, and in-room Amazon Alexa. Great location, near a cluster of excellent neighborhood restaurants. Short walk to light rail. Printed maps cleverly designed by innkeeper for touring the neighborhood, Portland, and region. Innkeepers live on-site. Fine hospitality. Cons: on-street parking can be a bother during local business hours. A bit too much clutter in room limits space for guests' stuff.
5 on June 25, 2017
We came for the Rose Parade and really enjoyed staying at the Lion and the Rose -- lots of rose inspiration! It is a beautiful old house full of interesting antiques and furnishings and we wished we could stay longer and look at everything in detail, but was a short weekend trip. We hope to be back and stay again!

My friend and I heard about this Guest House by watching our favorite tv show, Grimm. It was used in season 1, episode 4. We were so impressed from seeing it on the show that when we planned a trip to Portland, we knew we had to stay there for the full Grimm experience! We were very happy we chose this place because everyone there was very friendly and helpful! They showed us all of the locations used for Grimm and we happened to stay in the room used for filming! We could not have asked for a more wonderful visit at this beautiful Victorian Guest House! Even if you have never watched Grimm, this is a wonderful and friendly place to stay!

The House being in a historic neighborhood gave us a wonderful walking experience. The inside and outside of the House made us feel at home. Starting our day with a gourmet breakfast was a wonderful surprise. We look forward to both visiting the Portland area again and experiencing the Lion and the Rose. Thank You !

We were supposed to get a room with a private bath but due to a glitch in their system we got a room where the bathroom was across the hall. The room was tiny but decorated well and the bathroom was spacious. The whole house looked like it was right out of a movie. The innkeepers were incredible hosts and breakfast was delicious!
2.4 on May 24, 2017
My husband and I received a gift certificate for the Lion and Rose and we were really excited to try it out based on all the reviews. The house was beautiful and the grounds and location was nice. We were really disappointed by breakfast . It was a slice of just ok quiche, small side of fruit and a biscuit. Based on the price for breakfast the value and quality was not worth it. The beds and sheets were nice though.

The Lion and the Rose Victorian B&B was decorated by an interior decorator. Each room is well appointed, comfortable and luxurious.
5 on May 13, 2017
My husband and I stayed at this B&B in Portland Oregon during a west coast roadtrip. We have stayed in many B&Bs and I have to say this one is one of the best! The Innkeepers, Steve and Dusty, run an efficient inn which is full of antiques and history. Everything is looked after and thought of. The inn is located in a beautiful residential area which is full of gorgeous homes. It is also walking distance to some of the best restaurants we have eaten in. It is also walking distance to public transit, so there is no need to drive around Portland. The rooms are immaculate, clean, well appointed and the breakfast is wonderful. Tea, coffee, drinks and goodies are always available. I do not hesitate to recommend this B&B inn and would definitely stay there again! There is a reason that this inn gets 5 stars consistently.

We had a wonderful time in Portland last week; Steve and Dusty are terrific hosts. My partner and I bid on this B&B stay at our Temple auction. Steve's sister was the donor. The room was lovely and the sheets outstandingly soft. Breakfast was great as were our fellow guests. Can't wait to go back.
4.8 on May 09, 2017
My sister came down to visit unexpectedly. We chose to come here at the spur of the moment as I had grown up seeing this amazing house but had never been inside. Phenomenal people and so easy to go walking for everything. Great hospitality, just what I wanted on our house tour. Very happy.
4.8 on May 01, 2017
Out stay at the Lion and the Rose was very comfortable and so much more enjoyable than past stays in Portland in Hotels, even VRBO. The owners and the staff were just great and helped us in every way. While we weren't there during full breakfast service, the buffet was excellent and a fine start to each of our days. We have nothing but "good" to say about the Lion and Rose Guest House.
5 on May 01, 2017
My girlfriend and I stayed here for our anniversary and it was absolutely amazing. The staff was so nice and we loved our little conversations with Steve, Dusty and Dusty to get to know them a little bit more. The rooms were always clean and tidy and the owners were such a treat and so friendly the entire time. It was close enough to walk pretty much everywhere since Portland isn't too big and it was so quiet that it was a nice break from the busy loud life of LA. We are definitely staying here again on our next trip to Portland! Thank you Steve, Dusty, Dusty and the rest of the Staff!
4.6 on April 23, 2017
Steve and Dusty are outstanding hosts. They gave helpful suggestions on local sights, a historic walk and restaurants. We stayed 3 nights. Our room was the Garden Room. It was beautifully furnished and quiet. The breakfast was delicious. I would recommend this guesthouse to any visitor to Portland in preference to a hotel experience. The overall attention to detail by our hosts and the standard of the Victorian furnishing was remarkable. We felt completely at home during our stay and would visit again anytime.
5 on April 20, 2017
I don't think there could have been a better bed and breakfast experience for my girlfriend and I. The rooms are absolutely fantastic, (they look exactly like the pictures) the staff is by far the nicest people I have come across in a long time, the location is quiet and nothing is too far to get to because we walked almost everywhwere. I cannot thank Steve, Dusty, Dusty and the rest of the staff for such a memorable and amazing experience. Definitely will book another stay with them when we visit Portland again!
5 on April 12, 2017
Steve and Dusty have developed a wonderful respite from the cares of the world, if that’s what you need. A lovely room in a restored Victorian close to the convention center. The parlors are welcoming and an invitation to meeting with the many people who stay as well as the friendly owners and staff who are committed to their B+B. Dining is always a small miracle with wonderfully folded napkins by one of the staff. He knows over 100! There is also a small but charming garden. Many places to eat within 3 blocks. The building is on the edge of an historic district of beautifully kept Victorian and Arts and Craft style homes. Worth a walk around with a copy of a house tour booklet that is kept at Lion and Rose. A short walk to a cinema and TriMet trolley that takes you across the river to downtown, museums, zoo, gardens, and Powell’s bookstore.
5 on April 06, 2017
This is one of the most comfortable places I have ever stayed. The staff were all extremely friendly, very accommodating, and some of the best I have ever interacted with. The gift boxes are superb, and the breakfast spread is delicious. The Victorian Apartment is a place that I hope to stay again in the future, as it was one of the most wonderful experiences I have ever had! I can't wait to stay again!

We loved our stay there. In the Rose Room the bed was so high I had to use the stool with two steps to get into it. However, getting out of it was a cinch as when I swung my legs over to get up I found I was already in a standing position. The dining table was elegant. I’ve always been a nut for lovely china and glassware. And the kitchen setup for food and drinks was just right. Hard boiled eggs, ham and cheese and blueberries was a perfect breakfast for me. The soaps in the bathroom added a nice touch, one with lion’s head and the other with a rose. You done good, boys. Thanks for the hospitality. Esther Snyder

A delightful and lovely home. Close to many activities and transportation
3.4 on April 02, 2017
I had the most modest room in the house and it was lovely, albeit small and the bathroom was across the hall. The bathroom was the largest in the house and really wonderful. Scented soaps were great. Bed comfortable. Very little street noise. Proprietors very nice and helpful. Food, including snacks, were plentiful and good quality. Not the season for a cooked breakfast. The house is excellently maintained and meticulously accurate to its era. The 3 ratings I marked above are good because I have high expectations.

This B&B is beautiful. It has so much character, both in the building's architecture and the over-the-top Victorian decor. It feels friendly and welcoming. The room I had (Rose room) was a mix of old world and high tech. I say it met my expectations (rather than surpass) only because I had already seen photos of the room before booking. You can see exactly what you will get.

We could not have asked for a better place to stay! I highly recommend you stay here. The owners are amazing; from start to finish they were always making sure we had just what we needed and the rooms are both beautiful decorated with all the modern amenities you'd need! We've stayed in a few B and B's in the Portland area and this is hands down our favorite. We'll be back!!

The common areas were beautiful and had to take pictures to share with friends. Always wanted to stay in a B&B like this and so glad I picked this one. Unfortunately my stay was when Portland got snow so was unable to explore the area close by on foot, but did go to a restaurant recommended by staff and had the best fried oysters I have ever had at a reasonable price. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Our Garden room was warm and inviting. My husband who got sick was comfortable in bed most of the week. We loved the location. It is within easy reach in the city. Even public transport is just around the corner. We will return in season and enjoy the full breakfast which in January was not the case but there was ample food available in the kitchen at all times.

4.6 on January 21, 2017
The Lion and Rose is such a beautiful place to stay that every detail enchanted our experience. We thoroughly enjoyed our brief, but memorable stay. The view from the turret in our room (The Lavonne) left for a breathtaking evening of watching passers by, the wind through the trees, and the full moon illuminating the night. We look forward to staying there again, and would recommend the place to all our friends.
5 on January 18, 2017
First, this house is absolutely gorgeous! We were awed by the architecture and the decor. Second, our hostess (the owners were out of town) was extremely helpful and gracious. Third, it was immaculately clean. Fourth, it's location is very convenient and super close to a great restaurants and coffee places—even a vegan restaurant that was truly wonderful. Our only regret is that our trip was extremely short and we were only there for a one night stay. But we will definitely be back when we're back in Portland—hopefully soon!
3.8 on January 10, 2017
This is a charming and well-run BnB. It is within walking distance of several good restaurants and it is on a major bus route to downtown and/or the Max train. During our stay in January, the owners were away on vacation so the "second string" team presided over our stay. We were disappointed that there was no breakfast served, but a continental service was provided. The only discomfort I experienced was the fact that the walls are paper thin and you can hear people talking in the next room. That said, I would gladly book another stay.
4.6 on January 09, 2017
I booked myself for a stay over Christmas Eve, since I wasn't visiting family until after Christmas. It was a perfect plan, to keep from feeling sad and lonely! I walked up and down Broadway (the street one block south) and shopped in boutiques and stores like Kitchen Kaboodle. I took a long bubble bath with lavender scented bubbles supplied by Lion and Rose. I walked to a Christmas Eve service in a nearby church, then slept well. They gave me late-late checkout on Christmas, so I was able to stay until the dinner I'd been invited to (plus I had early check in). So the staff went out of its way to accommodate me. In the winter, the B&B offers a wide variety of options for self-serve breakfast. Fine, but nothing to rave about. Actually, probably healthier . . .! I will go back to the Lion and Rose if I have a chance. Definitely.
4.6 on January 07, 2017
The Lion and the Rose is charming. Clean and comfortable. The staff is friendly and helpful. The location is awesome. I will stay here again as well as recommend it to family and friends.

This is a lovely historic Queen Anne mansion in a convenient location in Northeast Portland. My only knock on our experience is that breakfast was self-serve cereal and toast. I would have expected and appreciated a hot breakfast served by staff.
We are sorry that breakfast did not meet your expectations. During the Summer and Fall (from May - October) we offer our Bed & Breakfast Service and do serve an optional full plated breakfast. However, during the Winter and Spring (from November - April) we offer our Guest House service with a complimentary continental breakfast. This is described in detail on our websie.

Outstanding accommodations. Dining is self serve continental. A little frustration booking my room. Tried online and was unable to book. Sent an email to the innkeeper with no response. Called at 9pm and was asked to call back in the morning after an existing appointment. Time I called back, the room I wanted had been reserved by someone else. I will say that all interactions upon our arrival were great: efficient, informative and hospitable. I would definitely return.
We are sorry you had trouble booking a reservation. Our usual reservationist was out on medical leave for a few weeks. About breakfast, during the Summer and Fall (from May thru October) we offer our Bed & Breakfast Service with an optional full plated breakfast. However, during the Winter and Spring (from November through April) we offer our Guest House Service with a complimentary Continental Breakfast. For readers, this is fully described on our website: www.lionrose.com .

My wife and I spent two great nights at this B&B. It was splendid on all fronts. The decor was just perfect enough to make you feel that you had just been thrust back into the 19th century. We will try to plan another visit to this wonderful inn.

What a great place to stay. Close to everything. Wonderful room and bed, great breakfast and snacks available during the evening. These folks thought of everything, maps of the area, suggestions of things to do and see. Recommendations of local restaurant's etc. If you looking to stay in Portland you will not go wrong staying here.

We were two sisters traveling to Portland for a relaxing summer getaway in the beautiful Northwest. We looked into a variety of accommodations, but after speaking on multiple occasions to the innkeepers at The Lion and the Rose, it was an easy decision to pick this beautiful Portland gem, which is nestled in a lovely historic neighborhood, just a stone's throw from Downtown. Traveling from the Inn to wherever we needed to go was a breeze with the easily accessible public transportation. Even before we made our decision to stay, the innkeepers were generous and helpful in providing guidance and information. This was just the beginning. Once we arrived, Dusty and Steve were there to greet us warmly, making us instantly feel like we had reached our home away from home. The inn was elegant yet cozy, with every amenity one would need. Once you've experienced the impossibly soft sheets, the elaborate breakfasts, the fresh-baked cookies, and the surrounding beauty viewed from the comfort of their porch swing, you may never want to leave. We've stayed in numerous B&B's, but what truly distinguished The Lion and the Rose was its owners. Their thoughtful, kind, and generous spirits remains our fondest memory of a wonderful vacation.

We felt like we were among friends from the minute we stepped into the house. Everything was perfect, the place is lovely, the food was great, the innkeepers were friendly. I am a very fussy traveler and the Lion and the Rose was perfect in every way.

We had great stay in this lovely home. The Victorian Apartment affords all the comforts of home and was perfect for our family of four. We were there for a full week and had everything we needed. Our hosts were generous and friendly and full of useful information about Portland and the surrounding area. I look forward to a return visit to the Lion and Rose.

Everything a B&B should be. Well maintained by people who clearly love it. Friendly people, both staff and guests. The neighborhood is also quite lovely.

What a wonderful place to stay - we had such a wonderful time; the food was great and so was the service. This place is located in a great area to walk to shops, restaurants and bars - you won't be disappointed !

I have stayed at this B&B twice and have reservations for this April. I stayed in the Turret room the first time and stayed in the Victorian apartment over christmas. Both were extremely pleasant and every detail was attended to. The apartment was so wonderful that I decided right away to plan a trip with my sister. The staff and owners are very pleasant and help with any need you have. Though I am a very picky eater I did try the breakfast on my 1st stay. They and a nice spread and had no problem cooking me up something I would like. Overall would recommend this B&B in a heart beat and actually have to my friends and coworkers.

We only spent one night and wished we had time for more. Beautiful, old house with scrumptious breakfast.

A beautiful place to stay, great attention to detail, fascinating furniture and objects all around... Hosts are very welcoming, ready to talk about the house and the city, and breakfast was superb. Really enjoyed the chance to mingle with other guests and hosts...that's why we choose B&B's and not impersonal hotels... A find!

Absolutely beautiful Bed & Breakfast! It was much bigger than expected, and really felt like staying in an old Victorian home. The innkeepers and all the staff were very friendly and informative. We would definitely stay there again!

This B & B is lovely but not the place for a romantic get away. The innkeepers are nice but their schedule is inflexible. There is only one time for breakfast: 8:30 (or 9:00 on weekends). If you want to go out for weekend entertainment, there is no chance of sleeping in if you want to eat. Check out is 11:00 which is simply too early and unexpected. Be prepared to sit together with everyone else at the inn for breakfast whether you feel like be conversational or not.
While we orient to a single-seating at 8:30am Monday - Thrusday morning, and 9am on Sudnays, we also tell guests that we can offer a full breakfast a half-hour earlier, a more limited breakfast an hour earlier, and "to go" items before that. Also, if guests wish to come down 30 - 45 mintues later that is also fine. We also offer check-out as late as Noon. Mostly we need time time make up the room for the next check-in.

We loved the Lion and the Rose. Everything was beautifully furnished and decorated, the rooms were large and comfortable, all amenities, the food wonderful, but for us the best part was breakfast. All guests meet in the dining room at 8:30 (9 on Sunday) and eat together at one large table. We heard, and told, great stories, shared sightseeing suggestions, and got to know each other. Steve (innkeeper) joined us when he could. We will certainly go back again.

Whilst this may not be the best ‘value’ in town it surely is the nicest. The owners are two of the kindest B&B owners I’ve ever met. Their home is stunningly beautiful. They make you feel like you are welcome in their home without feeling overbearing or that you are imposing. The food was simply magnificent. The regional material they make available, which includes a 7 minute Power Point presentation on the sights around Portland (if you want to watch it) is fantastic. They have perfect maps (which they designed themselves), great suggestions and are available for questions at all times of the day and evening. The location is perfect for walking to restaurants or a quick drive to any of the local attractions. I would definitely stay at this B&B again though I would recommend staying on one of the upper floors. The other visitors sometimes do not realize that there are guest rooms right off the parlor and tend to talk too loudly in the early morning. The owners are masters of detail. They had non-scented soaps and my coffee was ready for me in the morning exactly like I like it.

My daughter and I stayed just one night at the Lion and Rose and we were very pleased. It was one of the best nights we had slept on our trip. The bed was comfortable and the breakfast was wonderful. They also provide you with maps and detailed information about Portland and major sites not to miss. We will definately return!

The service was beyond any I have ever experienced at a B & B. The rooms are beautiful, the food divine and plentiful. Free snacks and drinks available all day. No stone unturned in restoration and service. Got a historical tour of the house from the owners. My best B & B experience to date.

Our first experience with a Bed and Breakfast and it was the most enjoyable stay I've had in my life! I hated to leave! The attention given by the staff and the way everyone was made to feel like they were in their own home was extra special! Truly an expereince that will never be forgotten!!
