Our favorite Getaway!

5 on December 24, 2017

This was our second visit to Holmes With a View, and we have recommended it to friends who have enjoyed it equally. For a place to unwind and decompress, there is no place better. We will be returning again.

Relaxing weekend at Holmes with a View

5 on November 29, 2017

Returned to Holmes with a View for the post-Thanksgiving weekend, something we've done for several years now on and off. A real favorite for us. Beautiful views, accommodations perfect for the two of us, selection of Amish baked goods and jam, and yogurts, coffee, tea, and juices for continental breakfast and snacks. Lots to do, if one chooses, or nice to stay in the cottage and relax.

Fantastic Evening!

The hosts were very accommodating. We loved the view and the room was well designed. We will definitely be returning.

wonderful to come back to!

This was our second time here and we just love it! So beautiful and relaxing. Had so much fun watching the horses in the field below us. The food they left for us was delicious and they even gave us complimentary chocolates for our anniversary. We tell everyone about this place and can't wait to go back. I'm sure you won't be disappointed if you stay here! Julie and Tim from Manchester, Michigan

Best kept secret in Holmes County!!

5 on November 01, 2017

Peaceful and spacious, situated overlooking a farming valley. If I can't book a stay here I won't stay anywhere else in Holmes County. Never disappointed, and do not want to leave when the time comes.

Another Great Stay!

4.4 on October 29, 2017

My husband and myself have been visiting Holmes County for 10 years now with a visit yearly. We stayed in other Inns before we found Holmes With A View and nothing compared. The view from the round homes are incredible, windows everywhere. The fresh bread and cinnamon rolls are a nice touch. Homemade jam with yogurt, juice and coffee are also included. Fannie Mae is so welcoming and will do what it takes to make your stay enjoyable. Cannot wait to go back next year!

wonderful to come back to!

This was our second time staying at Holmes with a view and we just love it! Just so peaceful and relaxing and such a beautiful view. Had so much fun just taking it all in and enjoyed watching the horses in the field below us. Great goodies left for us to eat and they even gave us a gift of chocolates for our anniversary. Don't hesitate to book a room here, you won't be disappointed! Julie and Tim from Manchester, Michigan

Loved first time but not second

2.2 on October 25, 2017

We stayed in upper level last year and was thrilled and wanted to go a second time. However, the lower level was only available and since the price was the same as the upper level, we thought it would be similar. It was not at all the same as it did not have a living room, stove and the fireplace was not working properly. We wouldn’t have expected to pay the same price.

Worth Every Penny!

The Millers are wonderful people and have a beautiful property. Though we have visited the area many times before, we had never stayed here before, but we will never go anywhere else again. This was by far the CLEANEST place we have ever stayed, very comfortable and relaxing. The wrap around decks and 360 degree windows make the views from the home breathtaking beyond description. Well stocked, animals were close enough to pet, private, all around a GREAT place to stay!

5 on October 07, 2017

Always enjoy our stay here. Very relaxing. The outside view of the countryside is one of the things. Just grab our coffees and relax on the deck.

5 on October 06, 2017

Wonderful accommodations! Wonderful view! The food they provided for our in room breakfast was outanding and more than enough for the two of us. We were very impressed by everything! It was romantic and private and just what we needed for a quick getaway!

Great View, Wonderful Time

5 on September 25, 2017

Our first visit. We will be back. We had originally planned to do a hotel in Cleveland to visit, but we decided to try something different and we were so glad that we did. It's a wonderful area with a wonderful view.

Loved it

4.4 on September 14, 2017

We stayed 2 nights in a one bedroom suite and really enjoyed it. It was relaxing and quiet. We enjoyed sitting on the deck and reading as well as watching the quiet countryside. Our only complaint would be that the upstairs 2 bedroom suites have the thermostat that controlled the heat/AC in both suites. We were a little chilly since it was cool outside. Overall a very enjoyable stay

Wonderful Experience

5 on September 14, 2017

This is the first time that my wife and I tried a bed and breakfast. This experience was memorable and the location was wonderful. The view from our suite was breathtaking as we would watch the sunrise. One morning in particular was especially beautiful as the fog and dew rolled through the hills. We will be back. I just want to comment about the onsite dining. As others have mentioned, it's mostly what you bring (or purchase locally) to cook (they provide pots/pans/plates/utensils). There are some breakfast items provided (locally made bread, jam, and cinnamon roll bread along with yogurt and juice). Personally, I'd rather cook a romantic dinner for my wife, so if anything, made the experience more comfortable for us. We've already shared the experience with friends, and I think some of them will be visiting soon. Simply wonderful.

Nice Stay

4.6 on August 22, 2017

You really should remove the onsite dining category since it is bring your own food. There is a nice selection of yogurt, bread, etc. though.

Simply Amazing

4.4 on August 20, 2017

Holmes with a view is a spectacular place to lounge, relax, and enjoy the breathtaking views from the wraparound deck. My mom and I decided to take a last minute trip and couldn't find a vacant place to stay. Holmes with a View had one room available. I wouldn't have wanted to stay anywhere else. We are planning to come back just to spend more time enjoying the room and scenery. We will bring groceries and cook in our room to avoid having to leave. I took some brochures and have told several people about Holmes with a View. Can't wait to return!

Our favorite getaway!

4.6 on August 12, 2017

This is our go to place now when we need to disconnect and take time for us. The rooms are basically an apartment so we have all we need to not venture out if we desire. Rooms are peaceful and the view makes us not want to leave. It's perfect. To clarify I gave onsite dining met my expectations because there is none unless you cook yourself which is what I knew. If you want to reconnect and slow down I recommend a stay here :)

A Lovely Place to Stay

4.2 on August 04, 2017

My husband and I stayed here mid-July 2017. I booked a month and a half in advance and received a really great rate. Situated in the back roads of Ohio's Amish Country, Holmes with a View provides a quiet environment surrounded by greenery, cows, horses, and singing birds. I loved sitting on the front porch with my coffee enjoying the sights and sounds. The birds were chirping away, cows were in the field, the rooster crowed from a distance . . .I loved it! The fresh loaf of bread, yogurts, cinnamon buns, and juices, were awesomely good! The strawberry jam was delicious! I do have one bone to pick, there was a water problem while we were there (3 night stay), so this meant we couldn't enjoy the hot tub or the huge spa tub in our bathroom. It was necessary to provide us with bottled water. The gallon of water for 3 nights and 4 days for making coffee and drinking, was not enough and I didn't realize this until our 3rd night when it was too late to call or go out to buy. This was a disappointment and nothing was offered for our inconvenience.

2.2 on August 02, 2017

BEWARE! We visit Amish Country often, this was our first stay at Holmes With A View. The place was beautiful but had bad water issues. We filled the whirlpool tub twice and the water was very brown with some sort of sediments everywhere. Tried contacting the number provided and we were unable to reach anyone! I emailed the owner when we got home and he apologized and stated they were aware of the issue and that because of problems with their well they had to start purchasing water and were very unhappy with the poor quality. He stated that they try to inform guests UPON ARRIVAL of the issue! So basically once they already have taken your money they will let you know that you have water that you wouldn't even want to shower in and forget using the whirlpool tub! The home was beautiful and clean but I am curious if by Health Department standards if they can continue to rent with such bad water issues and how anyone could feel good about themselves taking money from people and not giving them what they have paid for. Make sure you ask about water issues before making reservation because these people will not be honest and let you know! We were very disappointed that we spent our 28th anniversary in a place where we didn't feel we could even shower! Bad business practice!

A wonderful place to relax!

5 on July 26, 2017

Loved everything about this place!! So peaceful with a beautiful view! ¿¿ Very clean and the extra thought in various ways made this trip so memorable!! Will def be back!

A little piece of Heaven

Super Clean, Great View of the Country, Peaceful and Quiet. This is our 2nd time at this same location. I am pretty sure we will return.

5 on June 27, 2017

This was our 3rd trip to the area. We had never stayed at Holmes with a View before. We stayed in Suite #3, an upper level, full apartment with 2 Qn bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. It was WONDERFUL! The suite had a wonderful view of a valley overlooking the Amish country, with a full wrap-a-round deck with chairs. The suite was super clean and nicely furnished. When we walked in there was a loaf of homemade Amish bread on the counter and two large containers of homemade cinnimon rolls ready to eat. There was a Keurig machine and a coffee maker on site. In the fridge was both regular and decaf coffee available, butter, cream, yogurts and various fruit juices. Guests can also request fresh brown farm eggs. We were staying 4 days, so we requested a dozen eggs and they were delivered that evening and was told more would be available on request. The suite was close to all the areas we wanted to see...so if we went to an Amish food store, we could make a quick trip back to the suite and put the food in the fridge for later. We had a very relaxing time (never turned the TV on once). Thery have satelite TV, free WiFi, books, videos and cards available for entertainment. It was right next to an Amish farm so we often heard the rooster crow and peacocks calling if we had the windows open or the screen door open. We loved the suite, the area and the slow, relaxed pace of life at Holmes with a View.

4.6 on June 24, 2017

we loved this place! The accommodations were more than adequate and extremely thoughtful and clean. The view from the porch was amazing - very restful and peaceful place to be.

Fantastic Getaway!

5 on May 02, 2017

The stay at Holmes with a view was fantastic! The view was amazing with horses and cows right there, the horses were friendly and you could let them. The hot tub was awesome! The only thing I did not like was that if you stay in a bottom unit you do not have control of the thermostat, only the top unit has control. Luckily it was still cool outside or we would be been very warm!

Perfect Getaway!

5 on April 29, 2017

My husband and I, like most people these days, have a very hectic life. Being able to spend an evening away in an environment that felt like home and be able to unplug from business was perfect to us. We had a great experience and will be back again as soon as possible!

Very nice place to stay

4.6 on April 28, 2017

We stayed at Holmes with a View on our 45 anniversary. We have been coming there the last few years on our anniversary. It is a lovely place to relax and to enjoy the great view. Would recommend it highly. Plan on making this a yearly place to go.

Peaceful and serene

5 on April 27, 2017

As always the place was spotless and we left feeling refreshed.

Best Place I have ever stayed

4.2 on April 02, 2017

My husband and I couldn't get into a hotel during the time we wanted to be here. So I searched and found Holmes with a View! Wow what a best kept secret! We loved this out of the way quaint place. We will recommend them to everyone we know. The room was spotless and beautiful as well. There was fresh baked bread, maple cinnamon rolls, coffee, tea, pop corn, home made strawberry jam, butter, juice and yogurt in our room. We didn't expect wifi or cable tv but were pleasantly surprised that the room had it all! Mrs Miller was certainly a delight upon our arrival and made us feel welcome. Next time we plan to stay in an upper room so we can see more of the wonderful view.

Beautiful Bed and Breakfast

4.8 on March 06, 2017

We couldnt be happier with our choice of where to spend our 18th anniversary! Easy check in and check out. The home and roof was beautiful and so clean. We will be back again. Thanks again John and Fannie Mae you thought of everything for a perfect stay.

Holmes with a view review

5 on January 14, 2017

This was our second time staying here and I would recommend to everyone. There is no onsite dinning but was forced to make a choice. There is a full kitchen in each room if you would rather not dine out.

MidWeek Winter Get-a-Way

4.6 on January 13, 2017

Shared Suite Number 3 with another couple for two nights between Christmas and New Years Day. Enjoyed everything about our visit. The suite was spacious, the fireplace warm and cozy, scenic view, well equipped kitchen, comfy bed and more. We will recommend "Holmes With A View" to others and we will likely return one day.

This place is just perfect!

4.8 on December 22, 2016

I have stayed in this area in December for my birthday for a while now, we usually get a suite or a cabin. This was our first time staying here and it exceeded our expectations. The owners are very nice and easy to work with, the rooms are beautifully decorated with amazing views, the fridge is stocked with juices, jam, yogurt and coffee, they also left a loaf of bread and a delicious maple cinnamon roll. This place was by far one of our favorites and we will return here next trip! I even purchased a gift certificate for my parents for Christmas. Thank you again.

another wonderful stay

5 on December 19, 2016

We have spent our Thanksgiving at Holmes with a View for several years. It is such a peaceful way to get away during the stressful holiday season.

Great Place

5 on November 21, 2016

Was our 3rd time staying at Holmes with a view in the last few years. Was nice and relaxing as always. Only small issue was coffee maker was broken. Will stay again.

Wonderful place in Holmes County

5 on November 05, 2016

This is a great place to stay in the middle of Amish country. Lovely place in the Fall. The views were amazing "in the round". No details overlooked. Accommodations were excellent! Thank you for another great stay at Holmes with a view.

5 on October 30, 2016

I have stayed here a couple of times. It is very relaxing and peaceful. Sitting on the deck with a cup of coffee over looking the rolling hills was a perfect start to my day! It is in the heart of Amish country and the owners are very nice.

Best place to stay

Living Among the Amish - But With All the Modern Conveniences

4.4 on October 03, 2016

Our cottage was exactly as advertised. Big, clean and modern right on an Amish farm. Not only did we have a flat screen TV, and jacuzzi but the kitchen was thoughtfully stocked with bread, butter, jam, yogurt and beverages. We definitely will be back.

Splendid View!!

4.0 on September 05, 2016

The name says it all! A lovely spacious accommodation with beautiful views all around looking out to farmland with horses and cattle. I sat on the porch just relaxing and gazing at the scenery. It was so peaceful!! Sweet bread, homemade bread, strawberry jelly, and drinks were left in our kitchen. It was perfect except for the tiny TV.

Awesome stay!

4.2 on August 23, 2016

Very relaxing stay! Sitting in the deck overlooking the pastures filled with cows and horses was our favorite past time! Unit was really clean. Floor to ceiling windows provide excellent views. These are condo type accommodations with a full kitchen. There are no restaurants on the property but plenty of choices 10-15 min away in nearby Berlin & Sugarcreek. This was our second stay and we will definitely be back.

Juat what we were looking for

5 on August 22, 2016

My fiancé & I wanted something quiet and comfy for our 8 year anniversary just a few weeks ago. Holmes with a view was perfect and exactly what we had in mind. The view was amazing, we loved enjoying our morning coffee and hearing the animals next to us. We will definitely be going back, hopefully even this fall.

Perfect weekend getaway!

4.2 on August 17, 2016

My husband and I stayed here for a spur of the moment weekend getaway. A little pricey, but consistent with all other places to stay in the area and I'm sure one of the best! Couldn't have asked for a cleaner room and the view was amazing. There were guests in the unit above us, which I was concerned with at first, aside from hearing some creeking when they walked around it was not an issue at all. Our room was the perfect size and the bed was very comfortable! We opted to not have access to the hottub since it was an extra cost on top of the price of the room. I wish it were included! Hospitality was amazing as we had homemade bread, jam, and cinnamon rolls; as well as a full stock of juice, tea, and coffee. I would definitely stay here again! Thank you for making our weekend so relaxing and worth every penny!

5 on August 11, 2016

We enjoyed our stay- nice & quiet! Very nice accommodations:)

Great Stay

5 on August 05, 2016

Lovely rooms, great kitchen area, bbq, huge comfortable beds, great views and scenery.

Excellent - will definitely stay again!

5 on July 26, 2016

This was my first time visiting Holmes with a View and it was amazing! I read many of the reviews before booking my weekend stay and they were spot on! It's definitely in the heart of the Amish community, very peaceful, relaxing and clean. There was homemade bread, jam, cinnamon rolls, popcorn, and coffee in the room and I asked for eggs when I was checking in so I had some for breakfast. I highly recommend this to anyone looking to stay in the heart of the Amish and/or looking for a relaxing getaway with great views.

5 on July 08, 2016

I can only describe this property as truly outstanding in all aspects. The room was light and airy with panoramic views of the rolling hills and farmland of the Amish countryside. Our evenings were spent on the wraparound porch watching incredible sunsets and listening to the sounds of nature, farm animals and the occasional clop, clop of the horses pulling an Amish buggy. This a property you could enjoy for a very long stay. We will return to this wonderful setting.

4.0 on June 30, 2016

We had very peaceful wonderful stay. Wish we had more time. I am planning to back with our extended family in the near future.

Most relaxing vacation ever!

5 on June 29, 2016

The pictures don't do this place justice. They are nice pictures, but when you put them together with the sounds of nature, OMG! You hear birds all day, the cows roam the pasture, along with the horses. You hear roosters and a peacock! We are birdies and I got to see my first Oriole in person. The room was extremely clean. We got a whole loaf of cinnamon rolls and an amish loaf of bread from a local bakery. There were other goodies in the fridge too. What a great place to truly unwind. It is set right in the middle of where all the amish live, so when they go home, they are all around you. Awsome sounds. I put an outstanding on onsite dining, but there isn't onsite dining. I was just so impressed with everything else.

4.8 on June 15, 2016

We loved staying here. The View was great and it is on a quiet road .Would stay again.

Perfect PEACEFUL Getaway

4.8 on June 08, 2016

Cows, horses, rooster, peacock and more nestled in beautiful hills of Holmes county. Our suite has wrap around windows and deck to view and listen to this serene setting. Everything kept up and kept clean. I would gladly have moved right in. Pleasant! Pleasant! Pleasant!

loved it

Girls Weekend

4.6 on June 05, 2016

Have always wanted to stay at Holmes with a View and it was a nice as I anticipated. Internet pictures do not do it justice. The Views are amazing. The accommodations are perfect. Decorated in very nice furnishings. The rooms were very clean, linens very nice. There was more than enough room for my girlfriend and I as we rented the two bedroom. Homemade bread and cinnamon rolls were provided for breakfast as well as a Keurig machine and lots of juices, homemade strawberry jam and butter are provide so you can make toast with the homemade bread. Kitchen has everything you need to cook. Stop at Hershberger's on the way there and grab some fresh eggs, stop at the meat store just down the road and grab some bacon for a nice breakfast in the room. Eat at the Amish restaurants if you want the typical Amish food, there are plenty to choose from but if you want a meal you will never forgot be sure to eat at Rebecca's Bistro on rt 39 in Walnut Creek. Plenty of furniture shops/stores to choose from too. Holmes with a View is so much nicer than staying in a hotel room. It's worth the money for sure.

Better every time

We have stayed a few times and it's wonderful!!

Peaceful and Relaxing

5 on June 04, 2016

If you are looking for a peaceful vacation then this is the place to be. The peaceful sounds of the clip clopping of the horse and buggy as they travel takes you back to a time when things weren't so crazy busy. From the huge deck we enjoyed the beauty of the rolling hills and farm communities in the distance. The little round houses are so very nice and comfortable. The refrigerator is stocked with juices, yogurt, butter and even coffee. They have a Keurig coffeemaker with a huge selection of coffee, tea, and hot chocolate to choose from. Also a loaf of home made bread, home made jelly and cinnamon rolls were on the counter awaiting our arrival. Fresh brown eggs are given upon request. The bedrooms are awesome, each with it's own bathroom. The living room is very comfortable with a television and DVD player. The television is a little small but who needs television with the beauty that can be enjoyed from the deck! The only thing lacking in this beautiful place would be a freezer. The only freezer available is the top of a mini fridge that holds only 4 ice trays. We had one problem which was the smoke detector started beeping due to a low battery. We reported it and in a matter of minutes John was there and it was fixed. John and Fannie Mae Miller are the owners and are such a pleasure to chat with. I highly recommend this place if you are looking to relax and get away from the hustle and bustle of today's society.

Beautiful views - great servixw

4.2 on May 28, 2016

Our room #6 was very clean. It was a little cool when we were there so we really enjoyed the fireplace. The maple cinnamon bread was delicious. Great service and a beautiful view. The Onsite Dining was only rated okay, because their wasn't a restaurant, so this option should have been "not applicable". They did provide breads and butter, yogurts in the rooms.

Gal's Getaway to Amish Country

A truly awesome and peaceful place away from any hustle and bustle to rest and relaxation after a day of visiting shops, etc. throughout Amish Country in Holmes County OH. A fantastic view and very comfortable beds! I have stayed here twice now and already planning third stay for another Gal's Getaway. Thanks John and Fannie Mae Miller for such a great experience.

Gal's Getaway to Amish Country

4.6 on May 21, 2016

We've been wanting to stay in Amish Country and just relax and have fun. Since I have stayed at Holmes with a View before I knew this was the PERFECT beautiful peaceful place for us to stay. The Suite (3) is just amazing and there is so much room. We loved the wood floors and the cathedral ceiling. The beds are so very comfortable even though for us Shorter people you may need to include a short step for aiding us in getting up into the bed. :) The view is spectacular and the sound of the local buggies going by in the early morning is an awesome sound to wake up to. The homemade bread, cinnamon rolls, jam, yogurt and juices are wonderful and just enough to keep us satisfied. We are already planning our next Gal's Getaway for in the Fall to stay at the same exact Suite again and we all want to bring our husbands here also individually. Highly recommend Holmes with a View to anyone wanting to stay and experience Amish County in Holmes County, Ohio. You won't regret your stay!

My soon to be husband and I love to do different things and this was perfect for us. We wanted to have a little getaway before our wedding just to relax and not deal with wedding things for a few days, this was exactly what we got. Everything was wonderful from being accommodating to our late check in, to having plenty of towels to dry my hair to the breathtaking view to wake up to. We were so satisfied with our stay that we are talking about going back for our honeymoon. A+++++ Thank you to John and Fannie we will be back.

Extreme peace

Great place to relax.

5 on April 14, 2016

Wonderful place to unwind. Coffee, great sweet rolls, jelly and homemade bread for breakfast. Supplied everything you could need. We were in unit one. The only thing they could improve on is the TV was in a cabinet with doors and they did not fold completely back and you could not watch TV unless you were in front of it. Plenty of towels and was a very quiet relaxing place. This was our 2nd time there and would go back again.

A place away from home

5 on April 11, 2016

My husband and I have stayed in the Ohio Amish Country (OAC) a number of years now. We agree that there are some really nice places to stay, but none more welcoming than Holmes with a View. The name appropriately describes the accommodations. Yes, a hotel is readily available.....but if you desire a comfortable "at home" atmosphere.....then chose this. We did and we are glad we did.

My husband and I spent our 25th anniversary here and was glad we did. Our stay here was just what we needed. The room was clean, very relaxing and the view was amazing. We are looking forward to another chance to stay at this amazing place.

A Home Away From Home in Holmes County-Amish Country

4.8 on January 13, 2016

My wife and I were able to book Suite #2 for the weekend at the very last minute due to a cancellation. We needed to get away. We had been wanting to try Homes with a View for some time but it just had not worked out. Our stay exceeded our expectations. Everything was perfect; the layout, accommodations, view, privacy, and value. We finally found a home away from home when visiting Amish Country.

5 on December 30, 2015

My fiancé and I stayed here a few days before Christmas and it was such a great getaway! From the suite itself to the goodies waiting for us and the view, it was well worth the stay! We both loved it and hope to be back! Thank you! Amber and Jay from Newark

Very nice place, very good snacks and breakfast, good value and a very nice place to relax. have stayed here many times and will be back.

Great view better value!

5 on December 15, 2015

My wife and I have been coming here for years. For a family outing this Christmas season, we rented 5 of the 6 units and everyone had their own residence. My mom and my kids and their families could not have been happier! My 86 year old mother said her stay was "like dying and waking up in Heaven."

Favorite Place to Get Away

5 on November 07, 2015

We keep coming back here because of all the reasons above plus the peacefulness and quietness can't be matched by any other place around--and we've tried quite a few in the area. Now we only come here.

Great view in the fall

4.2 on November 05, 2015

I have stayed here twice now, both times in the fall and it's a lovely place. Very clean and comfortable and great views. This last time I stayed they were having trouble with their water supply and the water was brownish with things floating in the water. One of the reasons I love this place is for the whirlpool by the window (just great for relaxing), so I was very disappointed this time. When I told the owners/management they explained they were having it fixed but it was taking longer than anticipated (I was there for two nights). I understand that this was something out of their control, but I felt they should have offered me 50% off my next visit or something to make me feel that heard my concern.

Annual Amish Country Stayover

5 on October 19, 2015

My friends and I stay in Amish country every year and we having been doing this for many years. We stayed at multiple cabins until we discovered Holmes with a View. There are five of us, and the two bedroom, two bath suites meet our needs perfectly. We stay for two nights and cook one dinner and two breakfasts. The in-suite kitchen is well stocked and we appreciate the bakery and refrigerated foods that are complimentary. Unfortunately, the suite we prefer has already been booked for next year.

Great relaxing getaway

4.6 on October 19, 2015

Holmes with a view is a high quality relaxing experience. The home it self is decorated beautiful and the home is quality thru and thru. The view is quintessential Amish view. The bread, maple bread, jam, and other breakfast foods are wonderful. Guaranteed great experience!

The room was outstanding, clean and very comfortable. Well stalked kitchen, quiet and very relaxing room. The deck was serene with a beautiful view. The Inn keepers were very nice and when I had any questions, responded within the hour. I would recommend Homes with a View to anyone looking for a quiet, relaxing, private B and B

We will defiantly be back!!! We loved the view and just enjoying the quietness. Thanks for a wonderful stay!!

5 on October 04, 2015

Holmes with a View offers the utmost in serenity. Views out the huge expanse of wrap-around windows are breathtaking. This is not an ordinary hotel room type of accommodation but rather a large apartment with fully-equipped kitchen. Enjoy the fresh baked bread with jam, juice, yogurt and coffee n front of the fireplace or on the wrap-around deck. Watch the Amish horse and buggies travel down the road or the cows in the pasture. I would hope to stay here again and again and again.

Anniversary Getaway

4.4 on August 19, 2015

This was the perfect spot for a private romantic getaway. There were ample restaurant choices in the area. One night we even ordered a pizza and they were familiar to delivering to our place.

Highly Recommend

4.2 on June 23, 2015

We stayed for our anniversary. A little hard to find as the roads are not marked well. But worth the journey. Extremely clean and quiet. The lower food rating is because other than some breakfast items, there is really nothing or no where close to eat. (but the breakfast items were all home made and wonderful) If you are looking for clean, classy, and quiet, this is the place!

Peaceful escape

4.6 on June 01, 2015

We had a wonderful stay on our long weekend! Very comfortable accomodations and we had everything we could possibly need. We will definitely return!

5 on May 24, 2015

An excellent location. The view was spectacular. Everything about the accomadtions was excellent and the price was reasonable.

Romantic Anniversary

4.2 on May 19, 2015

This maybe one of the most peaceful places we have ever stayed. The room was small, cozy and romantic. The bed was very comfortable and had very nice linens. The bathroom was spacious and had a wonderful Jacuzzi tub. We loved the homemade bread and jam for breakfast and the homemade cinnamon rolls were outstanding. The view is simply breathtaking. A horse greeted us outside our door the second morning.

Great view

4.6 on May 11, 2015

We had a great time. The room was great and the view was awesome!

Fantastic B & B

5 on April 27, 2015

Everything about Holmes with a View is the best of the best. If you want a quiet and beautiful rural get-away, this is the place you want to be. The accommodations are fantastic and the view cannot be described in my mere words.

Beautiful B&B

Beautiful. Very nice room. Very peaceful setting. Good location, convenient to Charm, Millersburg and Berlin.

Holmes is a special place

5 on April 09, 2015

Holmes is a great place for a couples retreat! It takes us away from the busyness of life to a much slower pace in the heart of Amish country. We thoroughly enjoyed the quiet, the beautiful rolling hills and peacefulness of our suite. The cinnamon rolls, homemade bread and jam are awesome! Our only disappointment was scraping the last bit of jam from the jar :)

Short but sweet trip.

5 on March 23, 2015

We came just for one night and it wasn't enough!! We will be back for sure, and hopefully soon!

Holmes with a View, Suite #6

4.8 on March 18, 2015

We stayed in Suite #6 from 3/13-3/15/15. The suite was spotless when we arrived, beautifully decorated, and well-maintained. We really enjoyed using the outdoor hot tub, and thought it was well worth the additional fee. Although there isn't "onsite dining", the suite is stocked with locally made breakfast items, as well as juices and yogurts - plenty to get through a weekend stay. I had cause to contact the proprietors by email prior to our stay regarding renting the outdoor hot tub, and I was contacted promptly and cordially. We plan on returning next year, and I would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking to enjoy a relaxing stay in Amish Country.

What a great place

4.4 on March 05, 2015

We had an amazing stay. It was beautiful! I can't wait to go back!

1st stay, will be back!

4.8 on March 04, 2015

My husband and I stayed in Suite 1 this past weekend. Sadly it was only one night, but we loved it! Everything was so clean, comfy and relaxing. We can't wait to come back again and stay for a longer visit!

mental getaway

4.8 on March 04, 2015

I surprise my wife with a mental get away night! To my surprise it was me who needed to get away! We booth enjoy our stay and waking up to the view was wonderful , we are going to come back again.

a wonderful stay

3.8 on March 04, 2015

It was minus 5 degrees and the stay was fantastic. Well built and very comfortable and quiet construction. Highly recommended.

Could not imagine a better getaway in Amish Country!!

5 on February 24, 2015

What a wonderful stay we had! The only thing I regret is not booking two nights. The view from the room is spectacular. We stayed in Suite #2, a lower level, and had no problems with guests above. Quiet and peaceful location, secluded on a beautiful hilltop, our "green" suite awaited us. We ordered couples massages right in our room. He (Kendell) was fabulous and would highly recommend to anyone staying. Fresh breads and jams were available. The big kicker for me was a Keurig with assortments of coffee and tea, 100% juice products, and also popcorn!! Also- the jacuzzi tub did not disappoint! A huge thank you to John and Fannie Mae for following up with us to make sure we had a safe trip home, as we left in the midst of a snowstorm. We will be back as regulars, might try other rooms, but might not. Very excited to have booked this amazing gem for our first stay in Amish Country!

Second visit

4.4 on February 09, 2015

This was our second stay at Holmes with a View. It was just as wonderful as the first! Our only complaint is breakfast, which is in your room when you arrive (wonderful Amish bread, cinnamon rolls and yogurt) so you can then eat breakfast whenever you'd like. Our first visit was one night and it was perfect. This last visit was two nights and we were given no more food than we had on our first visit. Not realizing this would be it, we ate the cinnamon rolls and yogurt on our first morning and had nothing but bread the second morning (which was a Sunday so there was nowhere to go out to eat). Not a big deal, but plan ahead. We will be back! And many times too. It is hands down our favorite place to stay in Holmes County!

Peaceful Retreat in the Winter

3.8 on February 09, 2015

Needed to getaway from the city for a night. This was the perfect place! Beautiful, top floor suite with views all around. It was like staying in a small, updated round house. Relaxing bathtub and comfortable bed. The innkeepers left me a bottle of wine and some cheese just as I had requested. In the morning I enjoyed watching the horse and buggy go right past the house. Definitely would come back. Next time I will come in the Summer months to see the rolling green hills! I highly recommend Holmes with a View. -Sarah

Our 8th Stay at Holmes with a View

5 on January 04, 2015

My husband and I have stayed in all of the single bedroom units now! We absolutely love how homey and clean this bed and breakfast is. When we want to get away from it all or celebrate a special occasion we always book a room here. This was our first time spending two nights in a row and it will be the way we book from here on out. Thank you to the Millers for an awesome place for us to unwind. The view alone is enough to destress but add in the comfy bed, couches, fireplace and hot tub and it is dreamy! Can't wait for our next stay.

Fabulous, relaxing weekend

5 on December 25, 2014

The innkeepers were welcoming, kind, and helpful. The views are spectacular! The accomodations are amazing. We can't wait to go back. It is a hidden gem.

Winter at Holmes with a View

5 on December 09, 2014

Winter is a lovely time of year to enjoy the peace and serenity of the countryside through the panoramic views from these apartments. We particularly enjoy the gas fireplace and crawling into sheets that smell so fresh from being air dried on the line. It is a lovely winter refuge from the city. We take our books and read and cook our favorite winter meals in the well appointed kitchen.

Best View

3.6 on December 05, 2014

This place has an awesome view. The room is very clean, quite and cozy.It is very relaxing watching the livestock graze just off the deck. The only thing the room lacks is a bigger television. The one there is like a 13". Need binoculars to watch. Other than that it is a great place.

Great View

We have spent several holidays here. The view and peacefulness are just what we needed!

Very beautiful and private place.

What a fabulous find!

5 on November 24, 2014

Holmes with a View is a wonderful getaway, whether you want to explore the countryside, do some shopping, or take in a winery or two. The unique circular design of the buildings provides for spacious accommodations and beautiful views, especially if you're on an upper level suite with a wrap-around deck. The furnishings are top-notch and comfortable, and the owners have thought of everything, from fresh bread and cinnamon rolls waiting for you upon your arrival to a K-cup coffee maker, as well as juice, yogurt and homemade strawberry jam. The location is secluded, yet close to nearby towns like Berlin and Sugar Creek. If you want a relaxing, comfortable, and peaceful place to spend some time, whether a day or a week, I highly recommend Holmes with a View.

We love staying at Holmes with a View!

5 on November 22, 2014

we love staying there.

A Peaceful and Impressive Encounter

5 on October 29, 2014

This bed and breakfast was outstanding and a step above all other bed and breakfasts. Holmes with a view was not only clean and comfortable, but well stocked in the kitchen with Amish treats as well as a variety of juices, coffees, and teas. I will definitely visit again, and if word of mouth is the best advertisement, I am telling everyone I know of my experience with this place. Thank you for such an enjoyable visit!

A Truly Great View & Stay

This is our 2nd stay at Homes With A View and we have loved it every time. The view encourages our peace and relaxation. The two person whirlpool bath helped out too!

Holmes with a View

4.0 on October 27, 2014

This was our third stay at Holmes with a View and it is as charming, comfortable and clean as ever. Impressively well maintained with a great rural setting it is our preferred place to stay in Ohio Amish country.

An excellent, peaceful retreat.

4.6 on October 27, 2014

The room and hot tub were impeccably clean and well furnished. The room was well supplied with tasty treats that allowed us to linger a bit longer instead of rushing out to breakfast. The views were ablaze with the colors of fall and the sunrise was breathtaking.. The room was an excellent value. The only negative we experienced was the housekeepers chattering in the supply room prior to checkout.

Nice Time

3.2 on October 25, 2014

Fannie Mae was a very nice lady willing to help in anyway, they made our anniversary special. Next time we will get an upper room it has a bigger refridgerator for all the goodies we buy, Also the parking will be better (very steep hill). Not to many places to dine that was open past 7p-8p

Great location, not your everyday bed and breakfast, your off by yourself, come and go as you please, never see the owners unless you contact them. wake up and have horses right out your front window. So if you stay here bring some carrots or apples to feed them they come right up to you. Will go back again. Marty & Cindy

5 on October 02, 2014

This was by far one of the best getaway places we have stayed at, beautiful, clean, quiet. We will definitely be staying here again in the near future.

5 on October 01, 2014

We read the reviews before we came and we were not disappointed. We stayed in #1 and could not take our eyes off of the farm land, cows, horses and chickens. We fell in love with the Amish people ad their simple way of life. We will be backed and can't wait!!!! This place will spoil you, so come prepared. Thank you for sharing your Homes with a view with us.

My stay at Holmes with a view - September 20 2014

I had a comfortable and restfull stay and hope to come back again in the near future

Relaxing weekend

4.6 on September 29, 2014

If you are looking for peace and quite this is the place to stay. It is nice to just shut down with your spouse, and enjoy each other. I didn't score it high in the dining area, because there was no dinning area. You had a kitchnet.

An amazing escape...

5 on September 17, 2014

My wife and I stayed here on Labor Day. It was amazing. The amount of detail that was put into making our stay memorable was really sweet. From rose pedals being spread around the room to the fresh baked bread and fully stocked refrigerator was wonderful. Mrs Miller was warm and inviting when we picked up our key. We can't wait to come back.

5 on September 12, 2014

Enjoyed the weekend, but we left an item and it was returned to us in just a few days. Thank you!

The stay was very nice and relaxing. The view was great and every morning watching the sun come up was great too.

Beautiful and Relaxing!

4.0 on September 09, 2014

We had a wonderful time at Holmes with a View. Spotless clean, comfortable furniture and beds. Whirlpool tub was nice way to end the night. Rolling farm land views and oh so quiet. Wrap around deck was enjoyed in the morning watching the sun come up with morning coffee and hearing the rooster crow. Much to see in Berlin and surrounding areas. This review has one star for dining since there aren't meals encluded. But, a loaf of fresh made bread, cinnamon rolls, juice, coffee and tea are provided.

Awesome place!

4.8 on September 08, 2014

This was an unbelievably beautiful, clean, and peaceful place! Everything was perfect except for some moderately noisy people who occupied the entire building next to us---it disrupted the peace and quiet but nothing to be done about that. We loved sitting on the deck watching the farm animals graze. The apartment was super clean and neat. We made our own dinner and the breakfast rolls, bread, homemade jam and eggs were icing on the cake the next morning. I would go there againin a heartbeat. We might opt for Suite #2 which has more of a wrap around deck next time. Thanks, John and Fannie!

Holmes with a View is awesome

Lovely Getaway!!

5 on August 17, 2014

I have stayed at Holmes with a View 5 times in the past few years. I have stayed in both the 1 bedroom and also the 2 bedroom. I love the concept of the circular houses in the hillside. It is very enjoyable to sit on the balcony and look into the farmland just to watch the horses and the cows. It is very peaceful. The rooms are very clean and the cinnamon rolls and homemade bread are very tasty too. I have tried other places in Amish country, but this by far is my favorite.

Wonderful Place to Relax

4.6 on August 17, 2014

My husband and I were fortunate to be able to stay at HWAV during the recent Mennonite Relief Sale. The unit was as advertised...very comfortable, clean, and with a great view. Our only recommendation is to improve the air conditioning -- otherwise it's a great place to stay and we would definitely enjoy staying there again.

This is the second time we've gone to Holmes with a View and this time we took my parents. We had a wonderful time sitting out on the balcony watching the Amish farm fields with the cows, horses and buggy's going by. The rooms are unique (12 sided) but very clean, cozy and well stocked. Everything seems brand new since it is so clean and in such good shape.

Exceeded all expectations!!!

4.6 on May 25, 2014

This was my first experience in a bed and breakfast and I was very impressed. The suite was immaculate and the view was beautiful. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely return soon. Out of all the finest hotels I have stayed in, this rated right up there with the best. The only thing that would have made it better is a hot breakfast delivered the next morning. My stay was a gift for Mother's Day and it would have been nice to have breakfast included. Other than that it was magnificent.

Great Overnight Getaway!

4.2 on March 04, 2014

My wife and I needed a short getaway to regroup after getting through her sister's funeral. This place was secluded enough yet easy to get to. The unit we stayed in was immaculate. Having a full kitchen in the unit was a nice ammenity and allowed us flexibility for our evening meal. Being close to many tourist attractions made it convenient for exploring if we wanted to. The view over the fields on the hillside we spectacular for relaxing. After our time in the jacuzzi tube, we sat up until 1 a.m. (which we haven't done for years) in front of the fireplace sipping our wine and holding each other close. Although this place didn't provide a hot breakfast, the continental breakfast was not lacking in choices. There was a fresh loaf of homemade bread, a pan of freshly made cinnamon rolls, ample choices of fruit juices and coffees/teas, with apple butter and jelly and yogurts in the fridge. The furnishings were beautiful and the unit was spotless. We would stay here again without hesitation.

Amazing Stay!

My 1st But Not the Last Stay At Holmes

5 on December 03, 2013

Exceed my expectations. The cleanliness of Suit 1 upon arrival was impeccable. The little things like the coffee and tea maker, the basket of popcorn, the bread and cinnamon rolls took it to level that other places you can stay at do not have. I feel fortunate to have stumbled on to the “Holmes with a View” web site. I feel even more fortunate to have gone ahead and made the reservations and stayed there. I hope to return. The owners know what they are doing in this competitive hospitality industry and exceptional part of the country.

Our day was spent shopping in tge various roadside markets, and shops of nearby berlin ohio where we shop for home decor, clothing etc. we always anticipate our next trip there and never leave dissatisfied ..

just like home

relaxing area and just like home features in the unit. Saved a lot of money for our stay.

This was simply a great place to stay in Ohio Amish Country. Suites were comfortable, clean, and full of amenities. It is in a very quiet location and close to most sights in Amish Country.

weekend getaway

4.4 on May 12, 2013

This was wonderful trip for me and my husband. We have three young children and have not been away since our honeymoon. Everything about this b&b was beyond our expectations. We will definitely visit soon.

Fantastic decision

5 on May 06, 2013

A friend and I stayed here because it is the halfway point between her store and mine. What a fabulous decision! Rooms were beautiful and clean. This is the first place I've ever stayed that I felt comfortable not wearing slippers! The view is spectacular and we actually decided to work from this beautiful place instead of going in to work...great decision!! Thanks for a wonderful week!

A Quiet Gem

4.6 on April 01, 2013

We stay at Holmes with a View each year for one weekend, and have continued this tradition for the past 3 years. HWAV is something that we now gauge other B and B's from. The view, the clean and open, airy space, the amenities, the proximity to Wooster and its fabulous dining, or if you like "home cooking", there are alot of options around the area. Bring your bikes and see the country side during your stay. HWAV captures the very essence of the best of Ohio. There are a couple things folks need to know though 1) unless you plan on driving, bring your own food to cook 2) a continental breakfast is left in your suite: yogurt, cinnamon rolls, fresh bread and homemade jelly; juice and coffee 3) there is nothing open in Sundays in the area, so you really have to plan ahead. HWAV is simply marvelous. Give it a try!

Great Family Get Away

4.4 on March 12, 2013

My husband, daughter and I took my mother-in-law on a weekend away for Christmas. We have always stayed in cabins, so thought we would try something new. Holmes with a View were GREAT. My only suggestion is somehow work on the noise between each suites.

Much needed getaway!

4.8 on February 14, 2013

A delightful and relaxing retreat. A great way to reconnect and rejuvenate!

We never stay anywhere else!

5 on January 24, 2013

We go to Amish country twice a year, spring and fall, and we always look forward to staying at "Holmes with a View" . Once we discovered "Holmes with a View" five years ago, we have never stayed anywhere else. We have stayed in 3 of the six units, finding each one exceeding the last. Miriam & Paul are great hosts, making sure our every need is met, from the extreme cleanliness of the house, the excellent accommodations and the well- stocked (not to mention fresh bread and cinnamon rolls) kitchen. Stay here...you won't be disappointed!

Beautiful setting with many extras

4.6 on January 20, 2013

I spotted this while browsing BedandBreakfast.com and it looked interesting. My wife and I were amazed when we arrived. The setting and views were beautiful. The lodging is very private and quite unique. We loved the snacks that were provided. The views from inside the unit were great and the fireplace got the chill off of us when we returned from our travels. The bed and quiet provided a restful sleep and we were rewarded with a view of the beautiful sunrise through the many windows. A great place to get away from the noise and rush.

Suite #6, Breathtaking and the Perfect Getaway

5 on January 02, 2013

We are a newlywed couple who were looking for a place to spend our first New Year's Eve being married. A friend told us about Holmes with a View and we thought it looked like the perfect place for us. We called and Suite #6 was the only thing available. It was like it was waiting on us. It was the perfect suite for us. The outdoor Jacuzzi, king size bed, wood burning stove and kitchenette with the two person whirlpool in the bathroom was the perfect touch. Not to mention the breathtaking view! We were so impressed! Everything was perfectly clean, and the management were so friendly! We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. It was like a dream. So relaxing and the perfect way to bring in the New Year of 2013! We were so relaxed. It was the perfect getaway. We loved it!!! Jon and Emily Booth

Great getaway spot!

My wife and I recently celebrated our 25th anniversary and decided to look for a BnB in Holmes county Ohio. Holmes with a View was everything we were looking for and more. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The view was spectacular. Nearby shopping in the local small towns was convenient and charming. The owners were knowledgeable and helpful in making recommendations for dinner out. And the hot tub and fireplace completed the cozy ensemble of amenities for a very memorable celebration of our 25 years together. We would highly recommend a stay at Holmes with a view.

First time to Amish county

4.4 on December 18, 2012

We went on an overnight trip to the Amish country for my mom's birthday, she wanted to go in the fall 10/2012. She loved the B&B said it was the nicest place she has stayed in as of yet. We had me, my husband, mom, grown son and bother and there was plenty of room. The owners are especially nice and friendly. Was very please with the trip and would go again and highly recommend it to everybody. .It was nice having 3 generations under one roof.

October 2012 Family Vacation

5 on December 12, 2012

We were referred to Holmes with a View by a co-worker and friend. My wife and i have been coming to Amish Country for get aways and shopping for over 20 years so when we heard about Holmes with a view we booked a week for ourselves and our married kids and their spouses. We stayed in mid-October during the peak Fall color season that acentuate the incredible views from the Inn. The rooms are well appointed and meticulously maintained. Each room, we stayed in three separate rooms, were imaculate. I cannot say enough to describe the experience. Relaxing. Quiet. It exceeded my expectations. Holmes with a View will be a regular, preferred stay for lodging when we return. Many thanks to Paul and Miriam for providing such a blessed place to unwind! We loved the stay.

!0 year anniversary

4.8 on December 07, 2012

My wife and I came down to spend our 10 year anniversary and spent a wonderful weekend in Holmes with a View. The rooms were very clean and welcoming. No one bothered us, and we awoke to the cows mowing on the hill side. It was a beautiful way to wake up up and have our first coffee in the morning. I would highly recommend Holmes with a View.

Love it

4.2 on December 06, 2012

My husband and I are so glad we found this beautiful place. We stayed in November but are making plans to return in the spring. Everthimg was wonderful. The attention to detail was outstanding. Felt like home. Thanks

Home sweet Holmes! :)

5 on December 05, 2012

We chose this bed and breakfast for our annual wedding anniversary fall destination! They have always been very enjoyable trips to the area but this choice was outstanding and certainly exceeded our expectations! Right from the start, we felt very warmly welcomed by the owners, followed by the invitation of spacious rooms, wonderful breakfast foods, and views that were also a feast to the senses. The wrap around deck with surrounding windows provided a refreshing view to accompany the morning meal! Of course that was after a wonderful night sleep in very comfy beds that made me forget I was not in my own bed at home! :) We certainly will reccomended Holmes With A View to others and look forward to returning there ourselves in the future. Thanks Holmes for the memories!

Great for our 1 year anniversary

4.8 on December 05, 2012

My wife and I celebrated our first year of wedded bliss at this cozy little B&B. We really enjoyed the style of rooms and the country atmosphere. The view of the rolling hills, and the clip-clopping of horse drawn carriages as the rolled through the streets was extremely peaceful and calming. The only complaints were the water smelled a little strange to us, and we had some issues checking in, but all in all this was a great trip. Would definitely recommend.

Great Place to Just Relax!

4.2 on December 05, 2012

This was our first stay at Holmes with a View and it was awesome! We will most definitely stay here again on our return trips to Holmes County. It was so peaceful and relaxing, just looking out and seeing all the dairy cows in the field below was enjoyable for me. Everything was so clean and decorated nicely and all the treats were delicious!

A birthday celebration

4.6 on December 04, 2012

I and 3 of my friends had a celebratory birthday weekend at Holmes with a View. This was our second stay here, and it was wonderful. The units are roomy, spotlessly clean, and comfortable. We were welcomed with fresh breads, sweet rolls, yogurt, coffees and teas galore, juices and jams! The views are lovely. We did some sightseeing, but we would have been happy to just stay put for our 2 days there.

Cabin 6

2.8 on December 04, 2012

Hot tub was a two person but large and nice. Bed and Jacuzzi were good. Complaint: No forced heat (furnace) or thermostat. Room has geo thermal and radiant floor heat. Cold in winter. Can use gas fireplace but it takes a while to heat the room. Room was cold when we arrived.

Just Lovely!

5 on November 21, 2012

Warm, comfortable, inviting, cozy, romantic, private. I could go on and on. We stayed in suite 1 and it is absolutely beautiful, spotlessly clean with very good quality amenities throughout. I'm sure this is only the first of many stays at Holmes with a View.

Fall visit

4.8 on October 11, 2012

This was our 4th stay and as always the stay was fantastic. We love the view, the quiet accomodations and everything. We have already booked reservations for next year. Thank you for everything.

First visit to Holmes with a View - will come back!

5 on October 05, 2012

This was our first stay at Holmes with a View. The location overlooking the serene Doughty Valley is beautiful. The room we had was a 1 bedroom on the upper level. Very clean and well maintained. We plan to bring additional family with us on our next stay.

Wonderful place to celebrate our wedding anniversary

Pleasantly surprised by the comfort and cleanliness, would stay again!

Beautiful, quite, peacefull, relaxing Place.

5 on September 07, 2012

My wife, two of my sisters & myself spent 2 nights here & just fell in love with the place. We had suite 3, a upper level 2 bedroom suite overlooking the farm country. The main room was huge which included a Kitchen area, dineing table & couch & chairs. From anywhere in the room we had a wonderful view as we did from the wrap around deck. The owner was a very nice & personal Lady. The four of us agreed that we would love to go back, except next time we would spend at least 4 nights.

A Stay Like NO Other!

5 on August 12, 2012

We needed a weekend to destress and could not have picked a better place to do it. Even with a neighbor below us, the only sounds we heard were the birds, the horses and the crickets! The view and atmosphere were breathtaking! We have stayed at many other establishments in the area, but the level of excellence does not compare! Paul and Miriam have the foresight to cater to every need of their patrons (even those needs you didn't think of yourself). A great value for the peacefulness, panoramic view and pampering! Stuart and Michelle Beaton, Medina OH

Great facilities, secluded relaxation

4.2 on July 29, 2012

Wonderful secluded spot for a relaxing time away from it all. Accommodations were great also. Nicely furnished. Owners very pleasant and friendly.

Best place in the area, just one minor complaint

4.4 on July 15, 2012

We have stayed here several times. It is a very nice facility. Unique and special. We has just one issue - the room had only 2 very flat pillows for the bed, made sleep less that what it should have been.

What a view!

5 on July 15, 2012

My Husband and I spent our first anniversary in Suite 1. What a beautiful room! We loved the goodies that were provided. We have already booked for a return trip in October. My suggestion is to get up early to watch the sunrise. I took a lot of good pictures of the view and the horses are a plus. Can't wait to return!

Relax in the country and in luxury!

5 on July 06, 2012

I have traveled to all 50 states and several countries and must count this has one of my top ten greatest places to stay. Our trip was a "girls" outing to Amish Country, OH; 6 of us rented 3 of the 6 suites for one night. We all wish we could have stayed a week! The suites are beautiful, immaculate, and up-to-date in amenities. Breakfast was incredible with homemade bread, rolls, and more! Stay here! Do not miss this treat!

Homage to Holmes With A View

3.8 on July 05, 2012

The unique architecture presents a relaxing environment that is beautifully maintained, clean and welcoming! While looking for places to stay across America that would accommodate allergies, we were looking for places with wooden floors. Homes with a View met the requirement!

What a gem!

5 on July 04, 2012

It is rare to find a place that exceeds one’s expectations, especially after having read the reviews prior to making a reservation. This gem did. After picking up our key from Miriam, we found Unit 2 to be lovely and welcoming; we just stood and smiled after opening the door. The living area was spacious, the kitchen well-stocked, the bed comfortable, and the craftsmanship obvious. That first evening we sat on the deck overlooking neighboring farms, listened to the clip clop of passing buggies, and relaxed. We are both photographers, and this location was ideal because of the easy access to the back country roads, both paved and unpaved, that wind past the working farms and businesses away from the commercial tourist attractions. It is also an easy drive to the Holmes County Trail for biking. It was well worth the trip, and we will definitely return.

Relaxing Week

5 on July 03, 2012

We were looking for a location that was quiet and clean and comfortable and Holmes with a View was the perfect answer. We were able to sit on the deck and read without hearing much but the cows and the crickets. The neighbors were friendly and Miriam was always accommodating if we ever were in want for anything. We barely left-the kitchen was easy to use to cook meals and the room was clean & comfortable and a great place to relax. We'll be back often.

Holmes with a View

4.2 on July 03, 2012

Wonderfully relaxing place to rest and recharge from the demands of everyday life. Sitting on the deck watching the cows and hearing the sound of horses hooves on the pavement was a restful reminder of the simple things in life being important.

4.6 on July 02, 2012

Another great stay. We love Holmes with a View. It is always so relaxing. Great views. Love the whirlpool tub. Highly recommended!

Wonderful, relaxing weekend!

4.4 on June 17, 2012

The owner, Miriam was so pleasant and helpful. The inn was very clean and well stocked. The extras included homemade bread, jam and cinnamon rolls. They even left some chocolates in honor of my husband's birthday weekend! The view from the deck is very peaceful. No crs, phones, kids or people....priceless!

Great Amazing Views in peaceful setting

4.8 on June 16, 2012

This was our first time at Holmes with a View...wow what can we say...this place was amazing from the circular suite, amenities abound to the peaceful views of Amish country... We only had the opportunity to stay one night but wow...how relaxing... That you for the great place to stay...it was truly a blessing.

CHARMing !

4.6 on June 11, 2012

This is the 3rd time my wife and I have stayed at Holmes with a View. It is simply an outstanding place to stay. Two recommendations for folks. First, don't bother looking anywhere else, stay here ! And secondly, skip dinner one evening - get some wine, cheese, trail bologna and sit out on the deck and enjoy the quietness and great view.

So relaxing.

4.6 on June 11, 2012

I stayed there on two different occassions; once in April and once in May. Both trips were made most memorable by the peaceful accomodations. I kept thinking, "I could LIVE like this!" The hosts are the best and the staff are so friendly. Rooms are immaculently cleaned and decorated in charming, sophisticated country accents. The view is fantastic, and the location is central to all the attractions of Holmes County.

Hard to find--IMPOSSIBLE to forget

4.8 on June 03, 2012

Wow! What a find! Serenity, inner peace, tranquility and the most magnificent scenery one could put together all in one package. We are fortunate to have found this place and spent two great days and nights here. We were able to put away the hustle and bustle of our lives and watch in awe as farmers from yesteryear worked their land. Their simplistic way of working and worshiping led us to see what we should truly value in our own lives. We are grateful that Paul and Miriam shared this place with us and so many others. Very pleasant experience. Owners are outstanding.

Internet pictures don't do Holmes with a View justice.

4.8 on May 06, 2012

My daughter and I stayed overnight in Suite 3. It exceeded our expectations in size, cleanliness, the decor, and view. There was such a peace and calm to the location. We only wished we could have had a longer stay, but, we will be back.

March 8-9 stay

5 on April 06, 2012

Great place. We have stayed at many of the cabins and inns in the Berlin area before. We found this to be the best of them all (that is not to say the others were bad though). The little amenities, bread, rolls, yogurt, etc. added to our stay. I did give the dining 5 stars also. You have many Amish restaurants in the area but we always eat at least one dinner at the Millersburg Hotel. Great meals. Check out Bags Sports Bar also after a day of antiquing.

Relaxing Stay in Amish Country

5 on April 03, 2012

My wife and I stayed a night in March 2012. It was very relaxing and a great weekend getaway. Everyone was very helpful and pleasant. I would recommend this for anyone wanting to retreat from hectic life. - There are a few steep hills leading to the location. This was not a problem for us, but may be an issue in ice and snowy conditions.

HWAV Winter Getaway

5 on April 02, 2012

Spent 2 nights on a little end of winter getaway. HWAV is our favorite place to stay in Holmes County. Beautiful accommodations and view of the countryside. Everything you need to be comfortable and plenty of homemade goodies to enjoy. Especially love the hot tub to sit back and relax at the end of the day!

Perfect weekend...

5 on March 15, 2012

This was our first time staying at Holmes with a View and we were very pleased with everything. The suite was beautiful, views were fantastic, amentities were just right and the owner was very helpful and sweet. We shopped during the day and sat in front of the fireplace at night. It was a very peaceful weekend for us. Thanks.

Holmes With A View/Outstanding Experience

4.6 on March 14, 2012

My husband John and I spent the best two nights in a fantastic bed and breakfast. We were completely taken back by the breath taking view of the place as well as the cleanliness. We had never stayed in a "round" home before, let me tell you it was heavenly ! We had Suite #1 and stayed there March 7 & 8. It was definitely a moving experience! We both would recommend staying at this bed & breakfast ! It's the best one we've been to so far. We've stayed at many b & b's and this one by far is the most outstanding ! Thank you. Elizabeth and John Mramor, Parma Hts, OH

Great Bed and Breakfast

5 on February 28, 2012

My wife and I were very satisfied with our stay. Getting to the actual buildings might be a bit tricky after a winter storm (it was for us) so be mindful since the buildings are on a hill and the road can be slick! The check-in/check-out procedure was completely smooth and painless. We loved the privacy we received and the room was full of everything we needed. The breakfast food was generous and the farm fresh eggs on request made it. We brought easy to cook meals with us for some of the time and the kitchen was satisfactorily equipped including a dishwasher. The view was outstanding! If you are not familiar with the area there are fantastic restaurants within a 10-30 minute drive including the wonderful Dutch Valley Restaurant at the Carlisle Inn in Sugarcreek. We plan on returning and staying again soon!

Best Bed and Breakfast I have ever Stayed at

5 on February 06, 2012

When my wife and I planned a trip to the Rock and Roll Hall of fame we wanted to stay at a nice place that was not in Cleveland. We had always wanted to stay in a nice place and visit the Amish because my wife had never been there before. When looking for a place on line, I could not believe that we could stay in a place like Holmes for the price. We loved it. We were driving back late from Cleveland and it was very cold out said and pouring the rain. When we walked in we turned on the fireplace and wormed up. The next morning we ate the cinnamon roll and breakfast foods that were provided for us. It was great, I would go back just for the cinnamon roll! Most people think that visiting the Amish country is for the older generations but me and my wife are in are 20’s and we loved every minute of it. I would defiantly stay there again.

Perfect B&B

4.8 on December 11, 2011

My mother-in-law loves to read books about the Amish. My sister-in-laws and I decided to take her on an Amish trip. We loved Holmes with a View!!!! Very clean and decorated very nice. We had a wonderful time sitting in the opening living area, after a fun day of shopping, and chatting hours about life's ups and downs by the fire. Loved it. The only complaint would be that we were not told how to open the tricky door, but that is it. Thank you for a beautiful view and warm memories! The Collins Family

Exemplary Retreat

This was a great retreat experience - a great view from a greatly appointed room - including a whirlpool bath - made our time together there wonderful. All the kinks left us upon our exiting. Solitude, romance, relaxation, plus tourism oppys were all there - - will look to return!

Wonderful Getaway

4.2 on November 08, 2011

Four of us stayed together while we explored the area, shopped, dined and best of all came back to our lodging to relax in front of the fireplace! The decor was soothing, the view spectacular, the bed comfortable and best of all we were able to relax and unwind in comfort before retiring for the evening. Everything was supplied for breakfast if we chose to eat in and restocked quickly and unobtrusively. We will definitely stay here again.

The Best weekend ever!

4.8 on November 07, 2011

My husband and I of 21 years had our first get-away weekend from the stress, the kids and work. We stayed at Holmes with a view this past weekend Nov 4-5-6, 2011. Did not want to leave it was so relaxing. I want to go back today! I miss it already! We stayed in suite 5 , our favorite of all angles of views! I loved the accommodations, the little extra's, the goodies, the Jacuzzi, the fireplace, everything was perfect! We had beautiful weather and the cows grazing and horses to be seen in the morning, what a site! I can't wait to go back! Highly recommend this bed and breakfast. Very perfect drive into town in the middle of everything, Middlesburg, Berlin and Charm and not far from Mount Hope. We ate Amish food all weekend at the local restaurants...so good! Thank you the hosts for developing a wonderful place of retreat!

This was a much needed trip to just get away from all the chaos and breathe in some country air and relax. We couldn't have chosen a more beautiful and peaceful place than this. We have been to Holmes with a View several times and have stayed in different rooms. Each one was as nice as the other. It is our favorite bed and breakfast. There is no need to go anywhere else - staying right in our room and enjoying the view is the perfect getaway.

4.0 on October 31, 2011

We recently stayed in Suite 6. Very lovely room with access to the hot tub on an outside deck. The room was very clean with modern decor. Large bathroom with jetted tub. We did not use the jetted tub but we did use the hot tub on the deck. I have to say it was kind of small. In order to have total privacy from neighbors you have to shut the porch light off and walk in the dark to the tub. Was kind of hard to do! Once we were in the hot tub the blue light in the tub was fine for us! The heat from the water was relaxing even though not all of the jets worked. All in all the stay was relaxing however I feel it was a little high priced considering its just one room. The price stays the same throughout the year and is the same as the multi bedroom suites in the other houses and sometimes its more than those larger suites (depending on the time of year). We've paid the same for an entire cabin with several bedrooms as we did this one room. Price is the only thing that would keep me from coming back!!!

Innkeeper Response
Thank you so much for letting us know about the jets in the outdoor hot tub. It was easily remedied by reattaching a tiny hose that had come loose.

- Miriam (innkeeper)

This is now our favorite vacation spot. We will be back!!!

Perfect Peace and Tranquility

My wife and I stay here for special occasions. The view of the Doughty Valley is incredible! Imagine sitting on the porch on a summer evening while sipping a glass of wine and gradually observing nightime settling into this beautiful Amish area. There is great hiking, site seeing, and shopping in the area. The rooms at holmes With a View are immaculate! Even though we usually stay for one night longer stays would work even better.

The best of the best!

Most relaxing getaway

4.6 on October 03, 2011

Holmes with a view was the most peaceful stay we have ever had at a B&B. The surrounding area was most relaxing. I really enjoyed all of the extra amenities provided by the owners. My husband and I felt as if we were in a world of our own, being able to fully relax and enjoy the countryside and really enjoyed watching the farm animals frolicking in their pasture. I highly recommend Holmes with a view to anyone desiring a quiet peaceful getaway.

40th Anniversary

5 on October 03, 2011

We celebrated our 40th anniversary at Holmes with a view. The accomodations were fantastic, clean, nicely decorated, well equipped, centrally located to all of the happenings in Amish country. Put this together with great views from our deck ... you could not ask for more. We will definitely make plans to return.

The best place I have ever stayed

4.6 on September 20, 2011

We stayed in the largest unit at Holmes with a View. It was the most beautiful, comfortable, peaceful place I have ever stayed. You are really renting a luxury condo with a view of the rolling farm fields of Holmes County. The wood furniture is all beautiful handmade items. The two bathrooms are large and luxurious, one with a spa tub and one with a double shower. The view is pure country, facing eastward for the sunrise. This is a fantasy suite if you are looking for a place to relax with your stack of novels and contemplate the rural life. Food is cook-your-own or visit a local restaurant - we like Chalet in the Valley but there are many others.

Holmes with a "fantastic" view

5 on September 16, 2011

Loved being next to an Amish farm and having horse right in my front yard. Listening to the sounds of buggies clopping by and horses whinnying at night was very relaxing. The little extras-home made bread, cinnamon rolls, coffee, popcorn, juices etc. were a nice treat.

September Getaway

4.4 on September 13, 2011

We had a relaxing couple of days, with a beautiful view of the countryside. Holmes with a View had everything in a well maintained large rooms and plenty of space just to walk around inside. Paul and Miriam have a outstanding Bed and Breakfast one that we will surely stay at again.

Beautiful view

4.2 on September 05, 2011

Beautiful view from each of the rooms and a very beautiful place to stay.

Holmes with an amazing view

Holmes with a spectacular view!

5 on August 31, 2011

We had a thoroughly enjoyable visit to Holmes County last weekend and the best part was our stay at Holmes with a View! The suite was very cozy and comfortable and the bedrooms were as nice as any 5 star hotel! Miriam and Paul Pagrossi, the innkeepers, thought of every detail to make our stay memorable. They even shipped me home the pajamas I forgot without my even having to call!

A wonderful weekend!

4.8 on August 29, 2011

The rooms are beautiful and comfortable. The perfect place for a relaxing weekend getaway with some wine and someone special. Highly recommended!!

Wonderful Accommodations!

5 on August 29, 2011

We loved our trip to Ohio's Amish country and our stay at Holmes with a View. We enjoyed having being located right next to an actual Amish farm. The view was absolutely beautiful. We enjoyed watching the horses in the pasture only a few yards away. In the mornings, they would come up to graze right off of our deck. The accommodations were modern, clean and roomy. We loved having our own kitchen to prepare meals and snacks. We aren't the typical "Bed and Breakfast goers," so the privacy of having your own kitchen was perfect. The jacuzzi tub was great!! We had a wonderful and relaxing visit. It was the perfect place for us to celebrate our 20th anniversary. We definitately will be back.

Second Time

5 on August 07, 2011

This place is even better the second time around. So relaxing and lots of homemade goodies for breakfast. The view is spectacular. We feel like its home. It's extremely well-equipped (even a Keurig coffeemaker)!

Wonderful place

4.8 on August 04, 2011

We very much enjoyed our stay at Holmes with a View. The view was spectacular - rolling hills, green, farmland as far as you can see. It was very peaceful and serene. The suite was beautiful and very clean. We only stayed one night, but wished we could stay more. If we are ever back in the area, we will definitely stay at Holmes with a View again.

Two Best Friends

5 on August 04, 2011

My friend and I decided we wanted to "celebrate" our friendship of 42 years by doing something special. Both of us enjoy visiting Amish Country, and we decided to stay two nights, and picked Holmes With a View because I have always wanted to stay in the round houses! We had such a great time! Everything about our stay was really wonderful, relaxing, pleasant, quiet, and we were close to everything we wanted to do! I can't wait until the next time I can get down there with friends and family for a very relaxing time! Thank you for having us!

First stay......definitely NOT last!!

4.4 on August 03, 2011

We stayed here for our anniversary and everything about it was outstanding. It was exceptionally clean, nicely decorated and the view was spectacular. We have been recommending it to everybody we know!!

Lovely getaway

4.4 on August 03, 2011

Very unique circular design - quite and peaceful. Loved the horses down below and serene Amish country hillside. Great place to escape and rediscover whatever it is you have been missing

Our favorite place!

4.4 on August 03, 2011

This is our 3rd time at Holmes with a View, and we can't wait to go back! The view is awesome! It's truly a peaceful get-a-way for us. We've been spending our anniversaries there, and wish we could increase the frequency of our visits and the length of our stay. We enjoy the view so much that we actually hate to leave for our meals. This last time we enjoyed fixing our meals in the cabin. Thanks for a wonderful experience! Sonny & Elaine

Epitome of Relaxation

4.2 on August 03, 2011

I have made multiple visits here with my husband and a friend and am never disappointed. Yes, it is pricey, but the "rooms" are spacious and impeccable. Miriam and Paul are fantastic!

Relaxing with a view

4.4 on July 16, 2011

I have tried different places in the Amish area, and I have to say this is a favorite. I wish I had more time there. We had plenty of room with our grown children and the owners thought of everything. I would highly recommend it and encourage you to allow time to enjoy a little pasture peace.

Wonderful Getaway

4.6 on July 16, 2011

We recently spent 2 nights at Holmes With a View. What a wonderful getaway. Very clean, very peaceful. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful and peaceful

4.8 on July 15, 2011

My husband & I, and my sister & her husband, stayed in the 2-bedroom Suite #3 for 2 nights. We wish we could have stayed longer! The suite was spacious, very clean, and had everything we needed. The homemade cinnamon rolls and bread were delicious. We just loved all the windows, and the wrap-around deck with an awesome view! It was so peaceful and relaxing. The location is great, close to everything, but up on the hill where it is quiet and beautiful. We didn’t get the opportunity to meet Paul, but Miriam was so friendly, and check-in/out, was fast and easy. I highly recommend Holmes with a View, and hope to come back again!

5 on July 15, 2011

Wow!! What a wonderful place to sit and reflect on your life. This place was spectacular, very clean and the view was amazing. Will definitely be back to visit

Love, love, love, love it......

5 on July 15, 2011

This is the best of both worlds. The hospitality of a b & b and more privacy than a hotel. We have stayed at several places in Holmes county and this is by far the best. Spacious accomodations, spotless, incredible views, yummy treats and complete privacy. We absolutely can't wait to come back and have passed out the brochures to family and friends.

An Idyllic Retreat from the World!

4.4 on July 15, 2011

We recently stayed at Homes with a View for a weekend and were absolutely blown away by the tremendous view of the peaceful Amish countryside. In addition, the circular design of the suite and tasteful decorating enhanced our appreciation of the surroundings. Miriam was very helpful in resolving a small issue that we had with the DVD player. We would love to come back again and get away from the hustle and bustle of the "real world."

It was a stormy night.....

4.0 on June 21, 2011

My wife and I decided to spend a night away for her birthday. Although we only spent one night, we highly enjoyed the time. I was pouring as we pulled up and we were soaked. Very relaxful, hope to stay longer on our next stop.

holmes with a view

5 on June 02, 2011

this was our second time staying at Holmes with a view. Needless to say we are very happy. The owners are very pleasant, the rooms are amazing. It is well worth the trip.

Mother and daughters get a way weekend.

4.6 on May 30, 2011

Once a year the 5 of us come and shop and stay in Holmes County. We enjoy everything, the shopping, the restaurants and the peaceful setting at the Holmes with a View has to offer. We have stayed other places over the years, but this is the best place for the 5 of us, it has everything and more than we need. We love it and hope to be back next year.

a wonderful stay at Holmes with a View

4.8 on May 27, 2011

This was a delightful, comfortable, breathtaking, place to stay. The views of the valley with the cows in the pasture was so relaxing, the Amish families on their way to church Sunday morning, The fun shops in the area, Three generations (grandma, daughters, granddaughters) having silly laughing fun together. Perfect weather. How could you beat that for a wonderful time in a delightful place that is as nice as the brochure shows! Thanks for a great time!

Holmes with a View - we will return

4.8 on May 07, 2011

Two night stay to celebrate my mother's 80th birthday. We loved this stay! It was clean, away from the center of the town's congestion, yet close enough to get to it all quickly when for shopping and exploring. We would love to visit again. It is unique, nestled in the hills among farmland. The view was beautiful and relaxing. The stress just melted away , mom really enjoyed the peaceful rest.

quality and peacefulness all in one

4.2 on May 01, 2011

These unique homes offer quality, and a peaceful stay at a fair price. We went in April, and were fortunate to see the Amish planting their fields with horse drawn plows, right below our unit. Kept my husbands attention, since as a boy he was a farmer. This was our second stay, and we will go back to Holmes with a View.

Chicken soup for the soul!

5 on April 29, 2011

Our first stay at Holmes with a View was such an unexpected delight and leaves us longing to go back! It certainly felt like a home away from home, minus the chaos and hectic pace of our "real" life. The suite was absolutely immaculate and so welcoming with the fresh bread and cinnamon rolls from the nearby market... and even a Keurig coffee maker that was such a treat! Our stay there was much too short, but we have memories for a lifetime.

The Best

4.8 on April 26, 2011

Consistently the cleanest and most relaxing place to stay. Outstanding!

1st time at Holmes with a view

4.6 on April 26, 2011

Absolutely a wonderful place to stay! Very clean, and lots of extras. This was our first time in the area. We had reservations to stay in a cabin for Friday and Saturday night, then we decided to make it a longer weekend and add Thursday night. The cabin was already booked so we found Holmes with a view to stay at on Thursday. We really wished we would have found this B&B before the cabin!! We will definately be back for another visit to the area and we will be staying at Holmes with a view.

Great Place

5 on April 05, 2011

We go to the Holmes county area 2-3 times a year, we had been staying the berlin at one of the hotels, and decided that we would try holmes with a view, thought it would be something different, needless to say when we go back we WILL BE STAYING HERE!!!! it is great, quite, paul & miriam are great, excellent place to stay!!!!! A+++++

Anniversary get-away

5 on April 03, 2011

This was our first visit. We celebrated our anniversary there with friends and had a wonderful time. We enjoyed the view of the snow. Amish country makes a great get-away from our daily lives. The accomodations were great and clean. We will certainly return for another visit soon I hope! Thanks for a great time!

Refreshing as always...

5 on April 02, 2011

We always enjoy our stay, and we love the way in which we have access to help if we need it but are not bothered by calls, etc., while we are there. It is so relaxing and we always come away feeling refreshed and pampered.

Yet another great stay!!

5 on March 31, 2011

We love Holmes with a View. This was our third time staying here. We can't wait for the next time. So relaxing. Love the cinnamon rolls. Can't understand the negative reviews.

5 on March 29, 2011

I took my wife to HWAV view for her BD. We had suite #1. Great view of the valley. Peacefull and quiet. Close to everything in amish country. The room was perfect and the food/beverages in the room are yummy. We would highly recommend HWAV and plan to go back again.

Relaxing weekend

4.2 on March 14, 2011

Perfect 2-night stay in Suite 6. Needed to get away from every day stress and this was the perfect place to do so. Everything was clean and well kept. We only had a few problems, could not get the TV/dish to turn on, but the innkeeper came down to our Suite right away when we called. Also the speakers to the stereo were not hooked up and could not listen to music (good thing we brought our own stereo). One more thing...the garbage disposal did not work. Great scenery and wonderful weekend.

Innkeeper Response
We always appreciate when our guests let us know about a problem during their stay. Sometimes that's the only way we find out about it. The garbage disposal was easily fixed by unclogging it first and then hitting the "reset" button. Electronics are sometimes a challenge. In this case, with the TV it was as easy as adjusting a plug. The sound system required an "expert". Thanks for taking the time to let us know!

Holmes with a View was great. Easy check in and out everything outstanding!!

Worth a return trip

4.4 on March 01, 2011

Very relaxing and enjoyable stay. Beautiful views and ideal location. Stayed in #6; little smaller than anticipated but still extremely nice. Hot tub an extra perk with this suite, unfortunately it decided to quit working after one night! No big deal, though. We would definately return.

Worth the View

4.4 on January 07, 2011

The view alone is worth your time and money. Nice surprise to find coffee and juices in the frig at arrival., not to mention the homemade bread and cinnamon rolls. Had a very relaxing and enjoyable weekend with friends where everyone was comfortable and cozy. Would love to visit again in the spring and fall!

The Perfect Getaway!

4.6 on January 06, 2011

The Innkeepers Paul & Miriam are perfect hosts. The view is gorgeous! The accomodations were very clean, comfortable, and relaxing. The perfect getaway for a special occasion. Highly recommended!

Another great visit....

4.8 on January 04, 2011

My husband & I stayed for 2 nights over New Years for a completely relaxing visit. This was our second visit & we enjoyed it even more than the first! We stayed in Suite #2 which was very recently renovated & is very nice. We loved all the extra touches as well as the well-stocked fridge. My only suggestion would be a dresser or wardrobe for clothing--everything else was excellent!

5 on January 04, 2011

This was our third visit to Holmes with a View. Would recommend this B&B to anyone wishing to stay more than one night---only because one night is not long enough. Absolutely amazing views and outstanding hospitality from Paul & Miriam.

relaxing thanksgiving

4.8 on December 03, 2010

My daughter, son-in-law, husband and myself stayed here several days over Thanksgiving. It was wonderful to escape the stress of everyday life and spend the holiday relaxing and unwinding. We stayed in suite 4, and were very happy with our choice. Unit was immaculate, and Miriam was a wonderful host who kept us supplied with cinnamon rolls. Suite was very well thought out, comfortable, and private. You won't go wrong staying here.

An Excellent Escape from Hustle and Bustle

4.0 on December 02, 2010

We were very impressed with the decor, amenities and condition of our suite. The views were spectacular and the atmosphere was extremely relaxing. We would unreservedly recommend this fine inn to anyone interested in scenic and historic Holmes County.

Wonderful place for a getaway

5 on December 02, 2010

We had a wonderful stay. Immaculate room with fridge, hot tub and satellite TV. Great view of the rolling hills. Close proximity to all the shopping, etc. you are looking for in Ohio Amish country. The perfect place to do not much of anything for a couple days. We will be back. The breakfast goods and treats were great too. For those negative reviewers out there - get a grip. It's a little country cottage not the Four Seasons. Don't change a thing Mr. and Mrs. Grossi.

Our Favorite Place to Be

5 on December 02, 2010

We try to visit Holmes with a View twice a year. The suites sit on a hill over looking miles and miles of Amish farmland. The rooms are meticulous, comfortable, and feel like home. The inn keepers are gracious and will do whatever they can to make your stay comfortable. We enjoy going into the small towns and shopping and eating a wonderful Amish cooked meal, but we also enjoy returning to the serenity of our room to enjoy a peaceful evening in the country. We recommend Holmes with a View to all our friends and family.

Extremely Relaxing

4.4 on December 02, 2010

We stayed at Holmes with a View for our 3rd anniversary and we absolutely enjoyed our time there. The view was beautiful, and it was a very relaxing and enjoyable setting.

A Beautiful Halloween Weekend

4.8 on November 09, 2010

My boyfirend Ken and I decided we wanted a beautiful quiet & relaxing weekend away from all the hustle and bustle of everyday life and that is exactly what we got from staying at Holmes with a View!! Innkeeper Miriam greeted us so warmly on our arrival - giving us the scoop on her favorite restuarants. Innkeeper Paul had seen that we could not park right next to our unit because another guest had us blocked off from our drive and he quickly rectified that problem with in minutes. We had stayed in unit #5 and it was a very cozy retreat that enabed us to snuggle under the covers while watching tv til the early afternoon. What was so nice was when you opened the blinds it was to view a beautiful sprawling countryside. Sunday morning we woke to horses grazing in the adjoining pasture right out side our unit. The Jacuzzi outside was a great addition- although a short brief but briskful cold walk out to it - we wished it had a entrance directly from inside the unit. The goodies that were left for us in the refrigerator was a welcomed surprise ! Just wished that fridge was bigger. We had brought a few things with us and found it hard to get everything in it. The homemade bread and cinnamon rolls were yummy! Upon checking out Miriam was so kind to show us Unit #1 / 2 and 6. The stay at Holmes with a view was so refreshing we are planning a visit back to stay in Unit 1 or 2 in June of 2011!!

Amazing Stay 11/5/10

5 on November 07, 2010

If you are looking for a great place to stay, look no further. We stayed in the honeymoon suite #6. This was such a relaxing stay, after last minute reservations of calling all the others. The comfort & cleanliness of this suite was amazing, including the jacuzzi, fireplace and wonderful homemade goods for breakfast. Such a great view of the rolling hills of Amish Country. The hospitality of the hosts, Paul & Miriam, were outstanding. Such great memories to make a remarkable stay. Thanks! Jason & Mindy Simons--Springfield, OH

Best place to stay in Amish country

5 on November 03, 2010

We stayed at Holmes with a View in October. It was our 3rd time staying there. We had a relaxing and enjoyable stay. Miriam and Paul are always very friendly and willing to help if you need anything during your stay. The suite is always very clean. We love the little extras that are included (bread, popcorn, hot chocolate, cinnamon buns) to name a few and are much appreciated. The view from the suite is amazing! There are restaurants and shopping near by so you don't have to travel very far. I would definitely recommend staying at Holmes with a View!

What a Wonderful Weekend!!

4.2 on November 03, 2010

What a place! This was our first experience with Holmes with a View, but it certainly will not be our last! We stayed in "Suite 6". From the moment we arrived, we knew it was a special place. The view was spectacular, the room was well appointed, looked like a page out of a magazine, and was spotless. The fridge, although very small, was well stocked with drinks and a few surprises, and the bread and cinnamon rolls were "to die for". The Grossi's are the ultimate hosts, and have a first class property. We asked for a peek at the other suites, and they are ALL impeccable. We are already planning our next trip, which will be in the spring. We are hoping tp stay in Suite 1. Don't miss the chance to stay here---WELL WORTH THE TRIP!!!!

Truly a wonderful place

4.8 on November 03, 2010

A great place. Very clean. Room 2 came with a king size bed and tub for 2 along with clean bath with a shower. Lots of room which was great for a stay of a few nights. Kitchen area was wonderful with dishwasher and refrigerators along with toaster, stove and microwave. The view was wonderful from the deck which surrounded our room. Very quiet and very peaceful. Close to all Holmes county offers with a short drive.

Fantastic weekend!

4.8 on November 02, 2010

What a perfect place perfectly sited! Tucked into a hillside with a gorgeous view over a rolling farm valley. Our suite was gorgeously furnished and the cinnamon rolls were a special treat, as were the horses nuzzling the fence just beyond our deck. Two couples were extremely comfortable in a spacious two-bedroom suite. Would love to go back.

Our favorite

4.2 on November 02, 2010

My husband and I have stayed in many B&Bs in Ohio, and this is our favorite. It is private and peaceful with beautiful views of the countryside. The rooms are spacious, clean, and bright. It is the place to go for a one or two night getaway that seems much longer.

4.4 on November 02, 2010

Enjoyed staying in Unit #2. The view was incredible as the leaves were changing. We sat on the ceck in the evening and enjoyed the sound of the horses & buggies in the distance. The next morning we had our coffee on the deck as the sun came up. The clip-clop of the horses and the early morning birds were a wonderful way to start the day. We will return :)

What a great view !!!

3.6 on October 24, 2010

My wife and I stayed overnight for our 11th Anniersary. This will be our 5th B&B that we have stayed at over the years. The cleaniness was amazing along with the view of the countryside. We enjoyed the homemade breakfast items and the other items that were available for us :) There were only acouple of complaints that we had... 1) There was a light left on in the bedroom closet that was locked and shown through the door frame. Unfortuanlly we didn't have any cell phone reception and it was later in the evening, so we didn't think it was a good idea to go back up to the house and tell the inn keepers...we would have to drive there... Having a phone in the room what of been helpful. 2) There were clumps of coffee in our sugar bowl... 3) The bed was way to hard for us...but maybe not for others.. They were little things, but we felt that the owners should know. Overall it was a very nice place and I would still recommend it !!

Simply The Best!

5 on October 23, 2010

We stayed at Holmes With A View for 4 nights and we still didn't want to leave. The view is just spectacular! The suite was very clean and the goodies were very much appreciated. From the wide array of coffees, teas, hot chocolate, fresh bakery, yogurts and homemade jam that were available to us. The early morning walks in the country made our trip even more enjoyable. What else can I say, "Simply The Best"! We will be visiting again!

This was a wonderful experience for us! Everything was just right! Beautiful surroundings inside and out. Our only regret was we only had reserved one night! You must stay for at least two so you have time to really enjoy it! Every detail was taken care of for you. We stayed in #4.

Outstanding weekend!

The morning sunrise view was the highlight of our trip. Everything was perfect! We enjoyed the jacuzzi with candlelight and a glass of wine, lazy mornings with coffee and the wonderful fresh baked goods. Definately a "do-over".

outstanding Holmes with a View!

5 on September 04, 2010

We were bound and determined to find the Polish Pottery Niche just because it sounded fun. It was closed but we found Holmes With a View by accident. Paul invited us in and we registered for a stay. We saw the quilt that Miriam was finishing and knew the Bed and Breakfast would be fantastic! We loved the rooms, the jacuzzi, the round design, the jam and bread, watching movies, the sunrise, the cows and horses. It was the very best mother/daughter getaway before college starts trip. We had a fantastic time!!

Clean, spacious, gorgeous view, wheelchair accessible,

4.4 on September 04, 2010

If you like peace and quiet and a clean, spacious home in beautiful surroundings, this is the place for you. It is better value than any other B&B I have ever been in. The owners have put a lot of thoughtfulness and generosity into every detail of the place and have really good taste in the way they have furnished it (just the idea of round hillside homes should point to their sense of beauty). The breakfast items (yogurt, juices, bread, jams, cinnamon rolls, teas, coffee, even a Brita water filter) are all waiting for you in the fridge. The balcony outside and the fabulous view even from the living area made us want to just stay here all day and not go anywhere else. For anyone who cares, I also want to say that I was impressed that the place is heated by geothermal and radiant heat (as well as a fireplace) so they are ahead of the curve as far as energy use goes. I have only two suggestions: one is to replace the much scratched Teflon coated skillet so that guests can safely make themselves hot breakfast. The second is probably impossible to do. Though the place is wonderful in terms of wheelchair accessibility, it was impossible for my mother to get from the wheelchair to the bed, which is a very comfortable King size bed, but is extremely high, so that it was impossible for her to "climb" up to the bed (or for us to hoist her up to it) and she ended up spending the night on the sofa. If one of the 2BR suites could be identified specifically as the wheelchair accessible ones and it had a lower bed, this place would be completely perfect for our family. Even having said that, there's no question that we will be coming back again and again.

Innkeeper Response
Your kind comments are appreciated. The scratched teflon coated skillet has now been replaced with new ones. Thank you so much for bringing that to our attention. The issue with the bed is not as easy to take care of. We've considered putting in a step stool, but that would not necessarily resolve the issue for our handicapped or senior guests. We'll have to give it more thought and see what we can come up with.

- Miriam (innkeeper)

A wonderful 25th anniversary stay.

4.8 on September 03, 2010

My husband and I are world travelers and have lived abroad as well. Holmes with a View is a wonderful, peaceful and beautiful respite from the hectic of everyday life. The room/property was spotless, the setting serene, the little amenities (stocked refrigerator, awesome 1 cup coffee maker, etc) thoughtful. I have raved about it to my family and friends. Our 2 day celebration here for our anniversary was so memorable in large part thanks to the wonderful setting!!

Dale & Emily's favorite view & getaway

5 on August 14, 2010

First the owners Miriam & Paul our the most pleasant people we have met, go out of their way to make you feel at home, arriving to be greeted, in the rooms when you enter you fine juice, homemade bread, rolls, jellies, I can't think of another place we have been that offers so much. The fireplace, the flatscreen tv, the comfortable beds, the relaxing hot tub, the round porch to sit on, the window view of the whole area is just breath taking, we tell our friends & family its are other home!

Peaceful and Romantic Getaway

4.6 on August 13, 2010

The peaceful setting and beautiful, romantic, clean and up to date accomodations exceeded our expectations. We especially loved that we could enjoy our entire time there without leaving the suite by cooking our own anniversary dinner together like we did when we were dating! Would love to go back during the winter to compare the view!

Most relaxing time

4.6 on August 13, 2010

Our stay was the most relaxing vacation we have ever had. We truly enjoyed our trip and found ourselves returning from visiting Amish Country early just so we could sit on the balcony and take in the beautiful view and the quite calm of the countryside. We have told all our family and friends that this is a must for them to try.

Simply beautiful...the view was amazing, so peaceful! Very clean. We'll definitely visit again!

breathtaking peace

5 on July 22, 2010

It is sometimes hard to describe a feeling because sometimes words aren't enough. To just sit and enjoy the valley..the farm animals, the sky, watch the buggies cloppity clop past and the neighbour Amish boy manage the horses and cows...well, it's just so refreshing. The valley has to be prettiest in the whole county and yet, is close by to area farm stores like Herschbergers, Miller's Bakery and Guggisberg Cheese and restaurant Chalet in the Valley (the best cheese fondue) . Stepping inside, so spotlessly clean and well constructed. Everything you needed was there and enjoyed making a few suppers there. We enjoyed very comfortable sleep in the beds and very nice bathroom conveniences. Paul and Miriam Grossi and very gracious hosts concerned everything is perfect, which it was, and very easy to talk with and learn about the area. This is our 5th time to return to this area and won't be our last but we now know where Holme is.....with a View. Kevin, Chris, Dale and Jean from Ontario.

We had a 2BR suite and it was very nice. The view was pretty and peaceful, the suite was equipped with lots of nice extra touches (magazines, Keurig coffee maker (!), Bath & Body Works bathroom items, etc.), and the food items/drinks were a nice touch. We had a great stay and will definitely stay there again.

cool time in the heat

My husband and I booked a suite for our anniversary. It was not our first visit to the Ohio Amish area, but it was our first stay at Holmes with a View. We were quite pleased with all the Inn had to offer! Very quiet and peaceful surroundings and an altogether enjoyable experience! If there were any negatives at all, it was in the lack of directions to get to the place. It is in the country and therefore a few landmark directions would help (besides anything sent on mapquest). The television, although a new led screen, was a bit difficult to view as it was smaller and the angle was bad. But these things pale in comparison to the atmosphere and charm of the hosts and the place itself! So yes....go and be refreshed! Debbie Codori

2nd Timer

4.2 on July 06, 2010

This was my and my mother's second time to stay at Holmes with a View. We stayed at the smaller room than the last time but our experience was still the same. The innkeepers are really nice and friendly. They made our stay more homey. 2-bedroom unit seems to be more luxurious than 1-bedroom unit based on our experiences. Amenities and breakfast are my favorite part of the stay but the best thing is the view. You cannot imagine you can get that kind of magnificent view in the morning in OH. I would recommend people that they should stay there a couple of nights and do nothing but reading, lounging, or enjoy the quietness with your family, friends, or lover.

What a place, what a view!

5 on July 03, 2010

We were overwhelmed the moment we walked in, better than any resort we have vacationed in. The atmosphere and peace, the view, the countryside, comfort, everything we could need or hope for was there for our convenience to make our stay a pleasure. We enjoyed ourselves to the max! They thought of it all!

43rd Wedding Anniversary

4.6 on June 30, 2010

My wife and I stayed two nights on 6/9 and 6/10/2010. It rained our first night but the view was still spectacular through the cloudy skies. I contacted Miriam before the visit and asked if she could arrange for cut flowers in the room. She was very accommodating and arranged with a flower shop to provide a beautiful bouquet. We enjoyed are visit so much that we immediately made reservations for October. Thank you for your great location and service.

Serenity and Comfort!

5 on June 30, 2010

Our 3 night stay at HWAV was absolutely rejuvenating. We are somewhat picky about our accommodations but our Suite was immaculate and tastefully decorated. Paul and Miriam Grossi stock the kitchen with homemade breads, cinammon rolls, yogurts, etc etc. Sitting on the deck, we were amazed at the beauty of the pastures with the cows and horses. Listening to the birds and simply the stillness was such a treat! We hope to return again soon. If you are looking for a beautiful suite with all the amenities plus some homemade breakfast foods, HWAV won't disappoint!

Peace, Freedom and Coziness in beautiful country

4.6 on June 30, 2010

Every year my husband and I visit Holmes with a View to unwind and get a fresh perspective on life. The place is immaculate, the decor is inviting and simple and has a beautiful view of the rolling hills and an Amish farm next door. There are many places to eat nearby and you're provided some baked goods from local Amish bakeries that are delicious! I love the coziness of the place and the serenity I feel the moment I get there. When I walk in I feel as if there's no other place in the world - I've never felt that with any other place I've stayed. With Miriam, Innkeeper, you feel like you're talking to a family member.

Very nice units in Amish Country

4.0 on June 30, 2010

My husband and I just happened to see Holmes with a view as we were touring in the area and were lucky enough to book a room for the nite. The units are very well done with a kitchen, fireplace, interior jetted tub and nice deck. You can tell the care taken by the owners in the maintenance - it looked brand new although I think the buildings are about 10 years old. Everything in the units was high quality and they thought about the little things that make a stay special. A continental breakfast is supplied in each of the rooms. Although it was more than generous, I did somewhat miss the opportunity to go to breakfast with other guests - totally a personal preference thing. The view was wonderful and serene and the photos on the website do not do it justice in my opinion. The only thing that was a problem was the dog at the neighboring farm - bark, bark, bark, bark! I'm not sure what the owners can do about that but if it is an ongoing problem, I think I would suggest a talk with the neighbors. From a unit perspective, if we had been staying longer, I would have appreciated a closet or more space for clothing. This was not an issue for a shorter stay. I would recommend this place and would go back myself.

Innkeeper Response
Thank you for your kind comments. In an effort to remain good neighbors, we have attempted to resolve the issue of barking dogs in a positive fashion and hope that this will no longer be a negative factor should you return for a second visit.

Even though a strom came thru and we were w/ out power for a few hours we still had water and were able to check in. Then tour the town, by the time we came back the power was on, and we were able to relax. Loved the tub the jets on my toes felt refreshing. We'll be back again.

Best B&B in Holmes county

5 on May 29, 2010

My sister and I stayed for three nights the beginning of May 2010 and had a wonderful experience. The two bedroom/two bath suite was beautiful, everything we needed was available, the breakfast items were out of this world as well as the view from our porch. We highly recommend Holmes with a View as part of your visit to Holmes county Ohio.

Great day at Holmes with a view

A Girl Friends Get-Away

4.6 on May 11, 2010

Our stay at Holmes with a View in April was the second time my sister and I had been there. We were so impressed with the tranquility, view, accommodations, etc., the first time we stayed there we brought some girl friends for a much needed get-away from the "real" world. They were as impressed as my sister and me, and we all plan on returning the first chance we get. All have had problems, worries, sickness, etc., over the past winter and were able to relax and forget their troubles for a few hours. We laughed like we hadn't laughed in years and all left much refreshed and ready to face the world again.

Outstanding bed and breakfast.

4.8 on May 09, 2010

We stayed here over the weekend last minute and were highly pleased. The suite smelled clean upon walking in and the service was beyond our expectations. The little extras, such as, teas, coffees, juices, and breakfast made us feel special. We will be returning. -Brynn Nibert

No better place

4.6 on May 02, 2010

We really enjoyed ourselves... why anyone would stay in a hotel over this is beyond me. We stayed in # 2 for two nights. The view was amazing, we got up early to watch the sun rise and watch the cows come out to eat. I enjoyed petting the horses in the pasture. It was quiet, serene but still had all the comforts of home. Tea, juice, bread, jam, coffee, yummy cinnamon rolls that I devoured. The movies, cards and music were nice and so were the Bath & body works products. Miriam arranged an in room massage for us and that was a delight. I was able to borrow Miriam's phone so that I could touch base with my daughter at home. These innkeepers go above and beyond.... awesome.. can't wait to go back

Just one word...PERFECT!

4.6 on May 02, 2010

A suggestion on Trip Advisor lead me to check out Holmes with a View. It sounded great for our 2 sisters plus husbands (in our 60s) tour of OHIO. But it was so much more. We decided to stay 3 days. My husband said later we should have made it 4. He is a walker and found the area grand for "walking and talking" to the amish neighbors. Suite #3 was so clean and comfortable. The rooms colors and light level from all the windows made it so relaxing. We have stayed in many B&Bs and this may be the best. If you are in the area and looking for lodging that is quiet and PERFECT, do look at staying with Paul and Miriam; Holmes with a View.

Wonderful and Delightful Experience

4.4 on April 30, 2010

Holmes With A View was outstanding. The peaceful atmosphere made you relax. The suite was nicely decorated and very clean. I would recommend this place to anyone. Very cozy and comfortable and close to everything. A tremendous two days. Made our visit to Amish Country a great experience.

Beautifully quaint!

4.2 on April 29, 2010

This was a lovely stay for my fiance' and myself. We needed a little getaway, and this place was perfect. The unusual style of being in a round room was very unique, and we loved the first-class amenities and the beautiful wraparound porch. We may be planning another getaway with children later this year. A little out of the way, but so beautifully quiet at night. We've stayed at many other places, but this one was the most memorable. The only thing I would have wanted different was the ability to have either a full, hot breakfast or a coupon for one. Heavy carbs and juice were available and, while they were delicious, a dozen of eggs in the fridge and some fresh fruit would have rounded out the menu nicely.

Innkeeper Response
Thank you for your kind comments. We are in the process of adding to the items already in the suite, as well as offering coupons to local restaurants for a hot breakfast. Hopefully, by the next time you visit, this will all be in place. We greatly appreciate your suggestions which help us better provide for all of our guests' expectations.

- Miriam (innkeeper)

We could retire here.

5 on April 13, 2010

We have stayed at Holmes with a View numerous times. This time we brought another couple with us and enjoyed the privacy of having a two-bedroom, two-bath suite. Everything in this B&B is top quality - from the sheets on the bed, the towels in the bath, the toiletries provided, the fireplace, the comfortable beds, the view.... Every detail is cared for to provide the best hospitality for the Grossi's guests. If you want a relaxing time in a quiet, top-notch B&B, this is the place for you.

Wonderful, Relaxing Trip!

5 on April 12, 2010

My husband and I came to Holmes with a View for our 15th Wedding Anniversary. It was a wonderful, relaxing trip. We stayed in suite 6 and it was beautifully decorated, very romantic. It was clean and comfortable. When we got there, we had homemade bread, cinnamon rolls, jam and a variety of juices, teas and coffee. We also had popcorn for snacks. There are movies and CD's in the room to enjoy. Suite 6 has a Jacuzzi bath in the bathroom and a hot tub on the porch. Both were great. We enjoyed the piece and quite and they outstanding view. Paul and Miriam were very kind giving us directions, tips for good places to eat and visit. This trip was everything we had hoped for and can't wait to come back!

Beautiful rooms, beautiful view!! This was our second stay at Holmes With a View and already planning to return, maybe with the kids next time. Just a wonderful place to stay; calm, quiet but with all of the modern amenities we are accustomed to. And the snacks in the room were fabulous, nice unexpected touch. Highly recommended!

Blown Away

5 on March 15, 2010

This was a geteaway weekend that the Inn and Innkeepers made outstanding. We had never stayed at a bed and breakfast before and was a bit hesitant. The Grossi's exceeded our expectations by far. We used the wireless internet in our suite to not only book our next stay at Holmes With a View but we also book and Anniversary trip fpr my future in-laws. The cleanest accomodations I have ever stayed in and at a fraction of the cost of some of the places I've stayed. If you are going to do Amish Country and not stay at Holmes with a View......you are doing yourself a disservice!!!!

Private and relaxing in the countryside

5 on March 15, 2010

If you wish to visit Amish country and stay in a quiet and private B&B, this is the place to do it. This is not your usual B&B, as you will stay in a free standing, octagonal, fully functional apartment. We stayed in a two bedroom. two bath unit, with a gas fireplace, full kitchen, beautiful sweeping views and great privacy. I would recommend this place to anyone and will surely return myself.

Place to get away

5 on March 10, 2010

I was looking for a place for my wife & myself to get away for a night from work, teenage kids & every day life. Found Holmes with a View on the internet, not knowing what to expect by the pictures. When we pulled up, my wife, which did not know where we were staying, was really surprised on how nice the place was. Very clean, nice views, delicious bread. Hope to visit in the future. Great place Don't pass the place up

The rooms are always clean and the owners have thought about what their guests might need. The Amish baked goods in the room are always good, but it would be nice to see some variety to the food choices.

Highly recommended, you WON'T be disappointed.

This place is fantastic. I've lost count of how many times I've been here but the last 2 trips have been girls' weekends- one with my mom, aunt and cousin and the most recent one with just my mom. We had a great time and the amenities are just fantastic from the comfy mattress to the REAL sheets and towels to the fully stocked kitchen to the yummy bread and sweet rolls left in the room- it's like no place I've ever stayed. The views are fantastic too and Paul and Miriam are the nicest people ever. You can't go wrong staying here!

Our 4th Wedding Anniversary brought us to Holmes with a View. We stayed in (Suite #2) and found from the check-in with Paul & Miriam to our departure two days later to be seamless and pleasant. The view is amazing of the rolling hills and we sat on the balcony to watch several horses run and play within close proximity to us. The suite was very clean and up-to-date in its decor. It rained the two days we were there and it added to the cozy, comfortable feel of the place. We enjoyed the fireplace and jacuzzi tub. (very romantic) The cinnamon rolls were delicious and the added surprises like juice, coffee and snacks were a nice touch! We travel quite a bit and websites aren't always true to what you get. You will NOT be disappointed!! It truly was wonderful...we didn't want to leave.

We always love to sit on the wrap around porch and catch up on our lives. The rooms are beautiful. I love to relax in the jacuzzi at night. I love the home made bread left for us in our fully equiped kitchen. We would never go anywhere else for a weekend get-a-way. Thanks to our wonderful hosts for having the vision for this wonderful place.

The Perfect Getaway

5 on November 16, 2009

We just spent a mid-November weekend at Holmes with a View (suite 2), celebrating our anniversary. We found the accommodations to be exceptional. From the ease of reservation, to the explicit directions from Paul and Miriam, to the peace and quiet ... all were very special. The location is ideal, as it is only a short distance from Berlin and Charm and so easy to come and go as you please. Much to our surprise, a loaf of bread, breakfast rolls, and beverages were provided in our suite! We highly recommend Holmes with a View, and hope to return soon.

A must see and stay inn!

5 on October 29, 2009

The internet photos do not do this wonderful inn justice. You must see with your own eyes what you are missing out on. Peace and tranquility await you along with fantastic heart warming views. Neat as a pin with a lot of love and care given to detail and making their guests feel welcome and at home. Without a doubt one of the best inn's I have stayed at in a long time; close to town and shops yet tucked beautifully into the countryside...the window views are enough to keep you coming back again and again. Miriam could not have been friendlier. This is a must see...we enjoyed it! Terri

This place is awesome! It was so clean and up to date in the decor. Every t has been crossed and it leaves nothing to be desired. I loved the brand named toiletries and the juice stocked refrigerator! We have stayed at Holmes with a View three times now and expect to go back again. It sits outside of town, on the edge of a pasture, and we love to sit on the deck, eat cheese and crackers, drink wine, and watch the horses play! It's in Amish/Mennonite country and it's enjoyable just to drive the back country roads and watch the people. The children have an innocence about them that our children don't have. The rooms are large, clean, comfortable and there are always rolls, coffee, etc. on hand. If you're looking for a place to relax and get away from it all -- this is the place! Food is available close by and it's always good -- and inexpensive. Try it -- you'll like it!!!!!

Holmes With A View

Incredible Experience

We live about an 1 1/2 away from Holmes County. There are many B & B's around but we only stay at Holmes with a View. The suite is perfect no hussle and bussle just pure country. There is nothing like sitting out on the porch listening to the country or waking up in the morning looking outside and see the hillside covered with snow. We have done both and we will do it again. This place is absolutely wonderful to get away and enjoy.

The views were as beautiful as described by others, and our sunrise was just what the doctor ordered. Miriam is one of the most thoughtful and caring individuals we've ever met and her graciousness made our stay truly special. Our two bedroom suite was spacious, clean and comfortable. The locally baked cinammon rolls waiting for us on the kitchent counter were a delightful touch, and tasty also. A fully stocked coffee service was also a pleasant surprise. Being just south of Berlin, placed us very close to all of the shops & restaurants that we usually visit. All of the electronics worked well and the satellite service worked without any issues. A wireless internet connection is available and we were able to connect with no problems. We are looking forward to staying with Miriam & Paul again.

Great Getaway

My fiance and I went to Holmes with a View for the second time around (suite #2), and this time was even better than the first. I must say that Paul and Miriam (innkeepers) set a pretty high standard with regards to the upkeep of the property - it is just beautiful, inside and out. Okay, to start, there's a great sense of privacy, as each suite has its own car port area near the suite entrance. Upon entering the suite, you get the immediate feeling of cleanliness, coziness and warmth - the furnishings and appliances are up-to-date and of exceptional quality. Since the first time we visited in October of 2008, there have been upgrades to a number of amenities, including the TV (new flat screen) and the king-size bed. Paul and Miriam really had a great vision when they created Holmes with a View, and they keep the guests in mind, considering the upgrades. They even provide a book that has a synopsis bio of themselves and Holmes with a View. It lists local activities and grocery stores as well. This review is being submitted thanks to the free internet access provided. There are no in-suite telephones, but for us, that was an addded bonus. The kitchen in our suite was stocked with continental breakfast items - the cinnnamon rolls from Hershberger's Farm & Bakery are phenomenal! I'll definitely be calling in special orders to them. We appreciated the in-suite whirlpool tub. There's a fireplace for colder times of the year. Now to the View... It's just beautiful...rolling countryside. Dotted with small farmhouses, a wheat field (I think), and trees that fade off into the distance, you get caught up in the serenity of the view. This B&B is definitely appropriately named. As I sat on the wrap-around deck, it was so tranquil watching the horses as they grazed the fields. The setting is very picturesque - I kept snapping away using my camera. Holmes with a View is postcard pretty. Many thanks to Paul and Miriam for a wonderful and relaxing stay.

Innkeeper Response
We appreciate each and every review written by our guests, making us aware of what is appreciated about Holmes with a View along with suggestions for improvement. We do our best to keep everything in pristine condition and update amenities to keep things current. Thanks to ALL our guests for choosing to stay at Holmes with a View and spreading the word to friends a families. You're our best form of advertising.

Holmes with a View - Refreshing retreat

4.4 on June 30, 2009

My husband and I stayed at Holmes with a View in May 09 to celebrate our anniversary. The view was truly lovely, and the room was spotless and welcoming. Because our arrival was late evening and after many area restaurants were close, we were able to bring food and wine to prepare in the kitchen that was adequately equiped for such a purpose. Fresh bread, cinnamon rolls, jams, butter, and juice were provided for a continental breakfast. The innkeepers were accomodating and helpful in guiding us to area sights and restaurants. We highly recommend Holmes with View.

Tranquil B&B

4.6 on June 27, 2009

First stay and we are returning in the fall to see the colors of this beautiful view. Extremely relaxing. Was met with a birthday gift by Miriam which was not necessary, but goes to show you what you can expect of the accomodations.

Weekend escape to the country

4.0 on June 26, 2009

A Saturday night stay for my husband and myself, our daughter and her husband. We had space to be together for eating and relaxing as well as private bed and bath for each couple. We all enjoyed the view from the porches and the passing Amish buggies.

Holmes worth a visit

4.2 on June 25, 2009

We have stayed at Holmes with a View twice, once in winter and recently in the spring. The views are spectacular. The suites are very pleasant and well equipped. They are also impeccably clean and fresh. we love staying at Holmes with a view and plan to return.

A place you will want to return to.

4.6 on June 24, 2009

Holmes with a View is an exceptional place to stay. It is very peaceful and a good place to get away from it all. It is also nicer when you get there than what you see in the photo's. We will definitely go back again.

We love it!

4.6 on June 24, 2009

My hubby and I have been here several times. This visit we brought friends from Charlotte and they too can't wait to go back. So relaxing and hosts are great.

Mother's Day Memory

4.6 on June 24, 2009

Instead of the regular gift-giving of Mother's Day, I decided to treat Mom to a stay. We enjoyed the spaciousness of the place and the terrific view. We love coffee, and the Keurig was a wonderful surprise. Many extras were provided in the fridge so that we didn't have to shop for water, etc. Most of all, Mom felt it was the best present she has received-the time together alone was priceless to me.

Great get-away

4.8 on June 24, 2009

We had the greatest get-away at Holmes with a View. Everything about it was fantastic. We needed a quiet, beautiful, relaxing place to spend together and this was the perfect place. We can't wait to visit again!

Picture Window Portal'd into Holmes County

5 on June 22, 2009

Suite #1 won our hearts. Truly, the view is breathtaking. Spacious. Comfy. (comfy bed; comfy chair; comfy quilt.) We raised the windows to hear the beautiful sounds - particularly "clip clop, clip clop."

A wonderful place with a beautiful view of the Amish country

5 on May 26, 2009

What a wonderful place to stay! The suite was very clean and equally comfortable with a beautiful view.

weekend with friends

4.0 on May 19, 2009

This was the 2nd time at hwav with friends. All 4 of us have always enjoyed the house and the activities we found to do. We always say we will come back again. We love having the kitchen available to us for our long relaxing mornings of coffee and breakfast goodies you leave for quests plus our own staples we bring, before hitting the road to visit Lehman's, Heini's, the amish bakeries, craft stores, restaurants and wineries and just driving the back roads. We will always find hwav a special place that we share with our friends. We have stayed in suite 3 & 4 and have enjoyed them both.

A wonderful gift from my dad!

4.8 on April 06, 2009

My dad gave my sister, my mother and I this weekend stay as a Christmas gift. I have never stayed in a "B&B" before and did not think I would like it. HWAV proved me wrong! It was the most serene setting I could ever imagine but close enough to several towns to enjoy the area. The accomodations are terrific, BEAUTIFULLY decorated, spacious rooms, and clean beyond comparison. I did not have the opportunity to meet the owners but the facilities speak for themselves. The baked goods from Harshbargers just down the road are terrific, and it was so wonderful to have fresh o.j. ready and waiting. From what I understand, it is not your typical B&B, but in my book that is a good thing. I will go back at the first chance I get, or the next time my dad agrees to pay!

50th Anniversary Getaway

5 on March 30, 2009

What a charming and unique place to complete the celebration of my parents' 50th wedding anniversary. My mother loved the circular design of the cottages that provided windows from every angle of the building. She enjoyed the sun streaming through early in the morning and the majestic view of the countryside as everything was preparing to turn green for planning season. The owners welcomed my parents with a pleasant surprise-a gift of thoughtful treats. They loved the whirlpool tub and the two person shower. It was so spacious and clean. The decor was the perfect balance of ultra modern and country quaint. It is also very eco-friendly with large windows and a skylight that allows you to conserve electricity until it gets dark. I knew my mother would love this place, but my father was overly impressed by Holmes with a View. When we first entered he kept saying, "This is nice. This is really something else."

Comfort and Privacy with a Wonderful View

5 on March 30, 2009

Although the weather was not great, we really were able to relax and enjoy our home with a view. It was very clean, and everything we wanted was there. Also, we enjoyed the restaurants Miriam Grossi recommended.

My family stayed here 2/27/2009, and we were very pleased. The room was very spacious and very clean. The view was awesome. It's location is wonderful. It's very quiet and peaceful. We will definitely return!!!

A delightful surprise!

4.4 on March 27, 2009

My husband and I wanted a quiet "get away" night after several hectic weeks with work, income tax preparation, and family crises. This B & B had one unit left and we were invited to see it before we made a decision. WOW!! When we walked in the door, saw the beautiful view, warm comfortable decor and the Wonderful Whirlpool tub.... we called to confirm our stay immediately! We ended up staying in for dinner so we could soak up as much of this restful place as possible. We took several brochures and have given them to friends and family!

Disappointed in the Vlaue

2.8 on March 27, 2009

We have stayed here on 2 other occasions and enjoyed our stays. This was our 30th wedding anniversary and we book the more expensive suite thinking it would be even nicer. Although the hot tub on the deck was nice we were disappointed that the room itself. It was much smaller and then the other suites and much more expensive. The kitchenette was barely adequate and there was little room in the living/bedroom. The people in the room above us were very noisy and woke us up at 6 in the morning. I would not recommend staying in the lower level suites.

Great Place with a Great View

4.8 on March 26, 2009

Everything was exceptional. The cleanliness of the room was out of this world.

4.0 on March 26, 2009

We were very pleased with our stay at HWAV! I was looking for a nice quiet weekend away from preparing taxes and wanted to take my wife on one last romantic getaway before our baby comes. It couldn't have been more perfect. The room was beautiful and the view was spectacular. We only wish we could have stayed a little longer. We enjoyed the extra little things left by the owners. We will definitely be back in the future!

What a Peaceful Retreat!

4.8 on March 26, 2009

Spent three glorious days and two nights and we just loved the ambiance and tranquility of Holmes with a View. Views from the units are spectacular (rolling green farm pastures with horses & cattle predominantly on display. Lots of quality merchandise shops for the ladies and good food served at the Amish restaurants. If your looking for some quality "quiet time", you will surely fine it here....

Best Location

4.6 on March 26, 2009

We stayed at homes with a view. The owners were so nice and the place was beautiful. It was the cutest place I have ever stayed. It was so clean and decorated so cute. We are planning to go back this summer.

Perfect Romantic Getaway!

5 on March 26, 2009

My husband and I wanted an affordable 3-day getaway to recharge. Holmes with a View winter discount rates were just the ticket! The unique octogonal unit had a breathtaking view of Amish farmland. The unit is compact but very well designed and extremely comfortable, and we really enjoyed the fireplace. We were delighted to find the unit stocked with wonderful cinnamon rolls, jams, juice and more! Every element was tasteful and the innkeepers thought of everything from reading material to a selection of CDs to a snuggly afghan. While the unit has an oven, microwave, frig and outdoor grille, we ate lunches and dinner out and particularly enjoyed a wonderful gourmet dinner at the nearby Inn at Honey Run. If we had visited in summer, I would have enjoyed cooking steaks on the grill and lounging on the deck. We did see many, many stars on our first evening. The sound of horse-drawn buggys clip-clopping by occasionally added to the atmosphere. We were within an easy drive of many attractions and Warther's was our favorite. Visiting off-season allowed us to avoid the crowds. Our mini-vacation was a perfect blend of interesting things to do and time to just relax. We'll definitely be back!

4.8 on February 11, 2009

The rooms were exactly like the picture but the view was spectacular, the rooms were emaculate, and every detail was thought out. I am booking for the summer this bed and breakfast is a must see... I truly appreciated Paul & Miriam Grossi who were on vacation and still took care of my every need. truly this place is 5 STAR quality.

Wonderful Holiday Vacation

4.8 on January 21, 2009

My husband and I decided to treat ourselves with a little romantic trip before Christmas. I knew that I wanted to go to Amish Country and do some shopping so I decided to look online and book a place for us to stay. While looking for places online, Holmes with a View really stuck with me and it looked like a very nice place to get some well deserved rest and relaxation! We got more than what we were looking for. We could not have been happier with our stay and our accomodations! We were more than comfortable and very much at home in our suite, not to mention that extras that Paul and Miriam provide in your room such as fresh baked bread and cinnamon rolls, a nice DVD selection, and the Bath & Body Works soap and lotion! We know that we want to take a trip down to Amish Country again in the fall and we already know where we will be staying! I recommend this place to everyone and pass out Holmes with a View brochures all the time!

Rested and Refreshed

A Wonderful Getaway

My husband and I stayed at Holmes with a View in November 2008 for our fourth wedding anniversary. This was our first time at a Bed & Breakfast, and we're so glad we went. We stayed in Suite #6, and it was spectacular! It was immaculate and very roomy. The whirlpool was great and the fireplace made the suite very cozy. We truly enjoyed ourselves, and had a wonderful romantic getaway.

Going to amish country for a few days is always relaxing to me but staying at Holmes with a View took relaxing to a whole new level!!! The countryside is beautiful. I am looking forward to my next trip, hope to go back in the spring.

Holmes With A View is not given justice by the photos. It is much better in person, and the View from our suite was fabulous! Also, Paul and Miriam were wonderful to deal with! They not only satisfied our requests, but they also offered information about the area and activities taking place, which made our stay even more enjoyable. Marsha S.

Paul and Miriam were wonderful to deal with, the accommodations are absolutely beautiful and all the little extra touches provided were so very nice. We cannot wait to return to this little slice of heaven.

Lovely, Pastoral Setting

4.6 on October 13, 2008

Our room was beautiful! Wooden floors, the peaceful sound of Amish buggies going past on the country road nearby, comfortable furniture. The only thing I would change is we were in the building closest to the neighbors and they had a dog that barked a lot - it was quiet at night, though

Holmes with a View-Best Place to stay!

5 on October 13, 2008

We have visited many times and this is the only place we will stay while in amish country. The rooms and amenities are beyond expectations-our hosts Paul & Miriam are also spectacular. I highly recommend you consider staying in one of these beautiful suites.

End of August

3.6 on September 02, 2008

The breakfast provided was cinnamon roll, orange juice and bread left in the apartment for you.

Innkeeper Response
It's certainly understandable that a guest might be disappointed were he to expect a full course hot breakfast. Holmes with a View is not your typical B&B in that the Innkeepers do not live on site, but rather a very short distance away, and we provide "Continental" breakfast items already in the suite upon the guest's arrival. This is stated on our web site. When given the opportunity, this is also explained when potential guests make telephone or email enquiries. (We are sometimes classified as an "Inn" or "cottages".) We provide coffee (reg & decaf)/cream, assorted teas, hot chocolate, orange juice, homemade bread and cinnamon rolls from local Amish bakeries, butter and homemade freezer jam. Microwave popcorn is also provided for snacking. We are also happy to accommodate anyone with dietary restrictions if given that info in advance of the reservation. Our suites also provide fully-equipped kitchens for those who would like to supplement the food items already available to them. Two restaurants are within a mile of our facility and we do also offer specials with breakfast included at local restaurants. Thanks for choosing to stay with us and for reviewing Holmes with a View

- Miriam (innkeeper)

Worth a return visit

4.2 on August 12, 2008

We have a few favorite destinations. Holmes county is definitely one of them. Holmes with a View is the perfect Amish country get-a-way. The clip-clop of the passing buggies combined with the pastoral setting and amazing view of the countryside can remove you from the bustle of everyday life in mere seconds once. We've stayed there twice and will return again!

The Perfect Get Away

5 on August 09, 2008

Paul & Miriam, we want to say thank you for the most perfect place to saty. This was our first visit to Holmes with a View and definetly will not be our last. Everything was just perfect, from the gorgeous vie on the wrap around deck, to the awesome suite itself. We didn't want to leave. It was so peaceful and relaxing. The only sound heard from time to time was a buggy passing thru from time to time and even that to us was relaxing to hear. I think about our visit almost every day and can't wait to come back and stay longer. The people were friendly, the places easy to get to. There is not enough words to express how much we loved our stay. Thank you both for the perfect get away. Hope to see you soon. P.S. we are recommending Holmes with a view to everyone.

superior! simply superior!

4.8 on August 08, 2008

We went for the weekend just to get away, on the recommendation of a friend. It was the most unique place we had every been to. The "apartment" was absolutely spotless! It had all modern, upscale amenities...granite countertops, kohler bath, etc. 360 degree wrap-around porch gives you a view for miles and miles. (We kept saying we felt like we were sitting in the middle of a jigsaw puzzle.) Farmland and wildlife all around us. Just breath taking. Perfectly located so that we could go to all the little towns to shop, eat, walk, and chat with the people who are lucky enough to live there. We absolutely did not want to leave. I felt that the cost was very very reasonable considering the size of the place and the quality of the facility. Just a beautiful weekend. One we will not forget for a long time. Truely a slice of heaven for us. A gift!

Give It a Ten

4.8 on August 07, 2008

Four couples from three different states met for a reunion and were more than happy with our stay, our accommodations. our view and our hosts. It was a perfect and convenient place to get together. The location was right in the middle of what we wanted to do and where we wanted to go. We couldn't have asked for anything more and would return in a minute !! One member of the group even wrote an "Ode" regarding our visit which will go right along with our picture albums.

This was our first stay at Holmes with a View. The two bedroom house was perfect since we had another couple with us. We are planning another trip in the fall and will definitely stay again.

Summer Get-away

Two couples stayed for 2 nights early in June. Our visit though short, was relaxing with all the comforts of home. Beautifull view and a very nice place to stay..we would definitely go back!

Peaceful Haven

4.6 on July 02, 2008

This was our second visit to Holmes With a View, which is quickly becoming our peaceful haven, that "home-away-from-home" place to relax, unwind, and commune with God's masterpiece of gently rolling hills and a slower pace from our everyday lives. Thank you, Paul & Miriam, for creating such a restful and unique oasis where we can recharge our batteries from time to time. From a practical standpoint, we would offer up a suggestion: to our middle-aged spines, it seemed as if the mattress we slept on has gotten beyond its useful life. A firmer mattress without the "sway" in the middle would have made our latest visit even more perfect.

Innkeeper Response
Thank you so much for your kind comments regarding your recent stay. We also appreciate very much your letting us know about the mattress. If you could, please let us know which suite it was so we will know which mattress to replace. The comfort of our guests is of utmost importance to us and this problem will be addressed immediately.

Wonderful Place for Relaxation

4.6 on July 02, 2008

We found Holmes With A View to be a wonderful place for relaxation. The suite was extremely spacious with an open and airy feel. The decor was clean and classic, with lovely simple touches. Nothing was overly "fussy". All the furniture was very comfortable, especially the bed! The kitchen was very well supplied and easy to cook in. There were cinnamon rolls and a loaf of fresh bread provided for breakfast. The fridge was stocked with butter and jam for toast as well as cream for coffee/tea. There was an extensive DVD collection as well as a lot of TV channels via satellite. The only problem we had was that we could not figure out how to turn on the fireplace, and did not want to bother Paul and Miriam at 10 at night for such a little thing. The view was indeed lovely and we thoroughly enjoyed watching the horses in the pasture on the hill below. The best part of the stay however was the privacy. Holmes was extremely private and peaceful. We wanted a place to get away from everything, and found that at Holmes with a View!

Excellent! Excellent! Excellent!

5 on July 02, 2008

My friend and I went for a weekend retreat away from the hustle and bustle of our everyday life and our jobs. This place was like a breath of fresh air. Everything was perfect and peaceful. The hospitality and food were the greatest and we could not have been more pleased. We were so pleased that we booked another retreat for the fall. We had everything we needed for a delightful stay. The cleanliness was superb. A great place for a quiet get-away.

Girl's Getaway Weekend

4.8 on May 30, 2008

The four of us good friends love flea-marketing, antiquing, etc. and made a one-day trip down to Amish country last year. As we were driving, we saw a sign posted for pottery. We took off down the trail and passed these wonderful units. We all immediately screamed "we need to come back and stay here"! - which is exactly what we did this year. What a wonderful experience! It felt as if we had returned home after a trip. Fresh-baked bread and cinnamon rolls waiting in the kitchen; charming decor to relax in; and a view that doesn't quit! We are planning on going back next year in the Fall to enjoy the foilage. Thanks Miriam and Paul!

Holmes with a View

2 Days of Peace and Harmony

5 on May 20, 2008

My husband and I recently spent a couple of days at Holmes With a View. This was a return visit after quite a few years and we were not disappointed by the passing of years. We had originally booked for one night and then decided that we needed to treat ourselves to a second night but found that the same 1 bedroom suite we had requested was not available the second night. Miriam Grossi, one of our hosts graciously put us in a 2 bedroom suite (much larger)for the 2 nights and just locked one of the bedrooms. From the minute we arrived it was a wonderful 2 days. Luscious Amish cinnamon rolls, bread, Amish jam, juice and coffee were in the frig. for our breakfast plus all the snacks one could possibly want. The decor of the suite is eclectic with the use of muted greens with accent colors that blend right into the wrap-a-round view of the Amish Doughty Valley below us. Creature comforts abound with plump sofas and pillows, plush towels, Amish crafted cherry kitchen cabinets, a comfy bed, TV, cable, VCR-DVD players with remotes and a nice deep jacuzzi tub. We thoroughly enjoyed the clip-clop sound of the Amish buggys on the road above us and very little other sound. If you are looking for a place to recharge your batteries and pamper yourself by doing just what you want, I highly recommend the oasis Paul and Miriam Grossi have created at Holmes With a View!

GREAT Getaway!

We stayed for our second wedding anniversary and will definitely be back. We were looking for a beautiful, relaxing retreat and we were more than satisfied. We've already recommended this great getaway to others.

Our Experience at Holmes with a View

THe cabin was very clean, well equipped and comfortable. The setting was quiet and we had a nice view - snow! Price was reasonable. We will stay there again and have already recommended it to others.

Privacy with pampering

It is so enjoyable to stay in such a lovely place, with such an amazing view. Greeted by homemade cinnamon rolls. We knew that if we needed something, you would be very accomodating, yet you respected our privacy so much, that we never feel as though our space is being invaded. I think that would be hard to do and you do it well. It was such a wonderfully relaxing weekend. We will definitely be back.

We have stayed at Homes with a View several times because it is a quiet, tranquil place. Each suite is a private, nicely furnished unit. The kitchen is well equiped.

A Slice of Serenity!

4.8 on May 16, 2008

My husband and I have been here on previous occasions. So, I suggested it to my dear friend as a Mother's Day treat for the two of us recently. She was amazed at the uniqueness of it, the quality of everything, and the spectacular views of the countryside!

Want a relaxing, fun and romantic weekend?

4.6 on May 15, 2008

We recently spent a long weekend with friends at 'Holmes with A View' and we loved it. It let us have privacy while still enjoying the company of our friends. The owners were so nice. They left us cinnamon rolls and a loaf of fresh bread. We plan to return again and again.

3.8 on May 15, 2008

The owner went out of his way to come and get us because of an emergency phone call we received during our stay. He even let us come back up and use his phone to make another call and it was late at night. The amenities were wonderful. We really enjoyed the peace and quiet.

Breath Taking!!!

5 on May 15, 2008

We stayed at Holmes with a View during the worst Winter storm in 2008 and the view of the valley in the snow was breath taking. The owners brought us a nice home cooked meal because everything around us was closed. (Very thoughtful people) It is a very romantic place to stay. Can't wait to come back.

We will do it again!

4.6 on May 15, 2008

My husband took me to Holmes co. for my birthday, and we decided to stay at Holmes with a View. I was very much surprised. I had many reservations about our lodging. I'm the type of person who doesn't want the bed and breakfast thing, staying in a stranger home is not for me. But this was so much different. We both got much needed rest and enjoyed the Amish and their lifestyles. Mr and Mrs Grossi are wonderful inn keepers. The home was exceptionally clean and neat, they provided us with snacks etc. Again it was a wonderful experience.

We will be back again and again. The best B&B in the area.

4.2 on May 15, 2008

Loved the view! Loved how remote and private it felt-we had whole house to ourselves. Rooms are beautiful. We had house with hot tub outside. Had really enjoyable relaxing time. Instead of staying one night we should've stayed couple of nights. This what we are going to do next time. We felt sorry to leave.

Wonderful getaway

4.4 on May 15, 2008

What a lovely view it was when we arrived...both inside and outside. The furnishings and cleanliness were top notch. There were even fresh bread and cinnamon rolls awaiting us in the kitchen. And the view overlooking the valley was so serene...we wish we could have stayed longer. I brought my mother and aunt as an early Mother's Day present...they were so happy with the accommodations. I would suggest reserving a top floor unit, though, because I could hear alot of noise above my bedroom since we were on the lower level. We definitely plan to return!

Incredible stay

4.6 on May 15, 2008

My husband and I stayed here for his birthday in May. We have stayed in Ohio's Amish country before at several other places, but have not yet found a place that we immediately said we would go back to. I think we finally did! Starting with the booking process, the owners (Paul and Miriam) were fantastic about answering questions (email and telephone) and doing everything they could to make it a special trip for us. When we got there, our room was just as it looked online at the website - beautiful! In the kitchen area, the owners were wonderful and left us various snacks and breakfast items, allowing us to sleep in as late as we wanted and not worry that we would miss breakfast. They left us fresh baked cinnamon rolls, fresh Amish bread, orange juice, water, coffee and tea, along with various jellies and butter and also hot chocolate & microwave popcorn. The in room jacuzzi was incredible (there is no view from this jacuzzi though (Suite #6) so that was the ONLY thing I would change). There is a flat screen TV in the room where they left instructions for all the channels received (around 100) as well as about 20 DVD movies for us. Go figure that my favorite movie was there!! Our suite also had the only outdoor hottub. You do have to go outside onto your deck for the hottub, but it was worth it. Once you are there, it is very private and overlooks the Amish countryside. The bed was very comfortable and waking up in the morning surrounded by the view was just incredible. We will definitely go back!!!

Awesome place to stay in Amish country

Holmes With a View

What a wonderful place to enjoy the beautiful scenery and really relax. Our suite was just beautiful and the views our of every window were so pretty. We spent 5 hours into the evening just sitting on the balcony, relaxing, enjoying the birds and beautiful view for miles. We have stayed several other places in this area, but found this to be the most enjoyable.

Our favorite romantic getaway

5 on May 14, 2008

It is a very peaceful setting. The decor is very cozy in each of the three suites we stayed in. Love the baked goods from the local Amish bakeries that are waiting for you when you arrive. We were lucky enough to catch a great view of the sunrise as well as the views of the rolling hills. The owners go out of their way to make you feel at home and include many little extras. One of the few places we can go to get away and feel completely relaxed,

We have stayed at Holmes with a view 4 times and loved every visit. During the summer months there are more local activities. Very relaxing! Paul & Miriam are great folks.

Great view

3.6 on May 14, 2008

The situation of these rooms overlooking the peaceful countryside is ideal for a weekend of retreat from stress and bustle. The town of Charm is indeed charming, and in this cozy retreat you can feel trivial aggravations washing away. The rooms themselves are modern and minimalistic, very comfortable.

4.8 on May 14, 2008

The room was very clean and cozy. Decorated beautifully. The view was spectacular and the hosts were awesome. We stayed on a weekend where we were snowed in, and the hosts brought food to everyone that was there....spaghetti and meatballs, fresh peaches, cake....they went above and beyond and it was very appreciated. We look forward to our next trip back.

A Place to Reconnect!

4.8 on May 14, 2008

Whether your looking for a place to get away from the children or just a breath taking view, you have found it. Paul and Miriam know how to treat guest and make you feel like you are family. Their B&B has all the accomodations of home and a view you won't soon forget. My wife of 17 years and I fell in love with Holmes with a View and each other all over again. Don't forget to ask about a massage, their pricing is outstanding.

Charming Bed & Breakfast

Wonderfully Relaxing Get-A-Way

4.8 on May 14, 2008

Holmes with a View is truely wonderful. We have been twice now and plan to go back many more times. The owner's are fabulous - from the home made strawberry jam to the awesome suites they provide - you could not ask for anything more. The suites are super clean, very spacious yet very comfortable. Holmes with a View is the perfect get a way when you need a break from the hustle of the city and life. We have and will continue to recommend HWAV to our friends and family.

We stayed at Holmes with a View with another couple and really enjoyed the stay. The suite was very roomy and well maintained. We would definitely stay there again.

5 on May 13, 2008

Holmes with a View was far above what my husband and I expected. We knew from the pictures it would be a nice place, but when you walked into the home, it felt like you belonged. Everything was just right and the view was breathtaking. The next morning was wonderful because the juice was fresh, and the homemade bread and jam was wonderful. We enjoyed eating breakfast and drinking our coffee overlooking the countryside. We really hated to leave, but are planning on visiting in the summer.

A nice getaway

This is the place I chose to share with my 4 daughters as a girls' weekend. My husband and I have been there several times and found Holmes with a View spectacular. When my 24 year old daughter was accepted to the Peace Corps for 27 months, I was determined to have a weekend that we would all remember. Holmes with a view was PERFECT !!! I can't even begin to tell you the memories we savored and the wonderful times we shared. Only know that as a mother....I will cherish this time that I had with my adult daughters.
