I've read all of the reviews and in all honesty, I can't believe any of the positive ratings are real. More than likely Lewis, the host, either created the accounts or had his friends and family write them. Our room was on the first floor. There was really no security and the only way to lock the door was from the inside, and that was a $2.00 slide bolt. We travel with laptops, cameras, and cell phones. I was reluctant to leave any valuables in the room unattended and locked them up in the car. Our room was dirty beyond reasonable understanding. There were dead bugs in cobwebs on the ceiling and on the floor at the baseboard. Walls were dirty as though they had not been painted or even washed in years. They were cracked and the ancient wallpaper borders were curling up. There was a "closet" in our room that was previously padlocked but that was unsecured. On investigation, we found that it lead to the basement. Since it was unsecured, anyone could enter our room via the basement. In addition, there is a hole drilled into the wall, that one standing in that closet, can see inside the room without being detected. The bathroom had no towels or soap and the sink, soap dish, and bathtub were stained and the faucets were encrusted with what looked like a thick layer of soap scum, or mold. In fact, we didn’t hang around there. We left immediately after check in and returned late at night. We slept in our clothes on top of the bed sheets, which smelled badly, and we found that the mattress was wrapped in plastic and had duct tape holding it together. Check out the unhappy guest reviews on other booking sites and see for yourself. Read the owners incredible replies. Consider this a public service message,

My fiance and I stayed here a few months ago, and it was like staying with two old friends. Lewis and Lilia are really great. Take time to talk to them during your stay, they're very warm and friendly
We really love having this B & B and enjoy getting to know our guests - their likes, hobbies, and simple pleasure. Thanks for your kind words. Lewis and Lilia

The photos and description of this B&B set expectations that, in my opinion, were not met. The following is a list of the deficiencies: (1) My room didn't have a lock on it; (2) There were no outlets in the bathroom; (3) Many of the lighting fixtures didn't work; (4) There was no flexibility in the breakfast time; and (5) The room didn't have a serviceable mirror or a desk. Further, I selected this B&B because I thought it's price point indicated that it would be better than other B&Bs in the area. I think I paid a lot for my room (especially when I compare it to the B&B I stayed in the previous week) and it was not worth it.

A unique B&B experience. A beautiful old house with a butterfly garden. Lewis and Lilia are lovely lively people with many stories to share. Tip: Brush-up on Game theory before you go.

My boyfriend and I had a lovely stay, a good night's sleep and a nice breakfast while visiting relatives in Stamford. Stamford is a lovely small town with a gem of a B and B. Lewis and Lily are pleasant folks and lively conversationalists. We'd enjoy staying again to try another room.
It is a lovely 12x16 room - with a great view, private bath with tub and shower. Room includes dresser, king size bed, clock radio, back door hooks to hang clothes. There is no clothes closet in the room. THere are four east facing winsdows with a view if the meditation garden. *** Please note that if you are a late riser (after 8:30 am) you will hear voices at breakfast and folks coming down the stairs ***
