Humble Hill Lodge and Farm Stay

467 Tallow Hill Rd , Spencer, NY 14883 USA (Show map)

Your farm getaway in the Finger Lakes awaits. Lonely Planet recommended us in their most recent book~ Wine Trails: 50 Perfect Weekends in Wine Country as one of the two places that visitors should stay when traveling in the Finger Lakes. We invite you to come and experience the Finger lakes! Humble Hill Lodge is one of Ithaca's longest running culinary agri-tourism destinations. Enjoy delicious breakfasts made from farm fresh produce and other high quality local foods. Enjoy a peaceful getaway on our small farm that sells weekly at the world famous Ithaca Farmer's Market Farm. There are no other houses within sight of the Lodge, this is your private country getaway. If you arrive in the evening after dark it may seem like nobody's around, but I’m just a ¼ mile away at my personal home and will arrive quickly once I know you’ve arrived. We are a small country inn with 3 rooms, there isn’t a 24 hour front desk and we do our best to get in touch before you drive out here and help you check in with ease. Please note late night arrivals may be self check in. In that case I’ll greet you in the morning at breakfast. Each room in the Lodge sleeps 2 adults, there are as many as 6 travelers at full occupancy. There are 2 full baths, one is a private bath connected to the Master bedroom and the other bathroom is shared between our other 2 rooms. The house has a full kitchen ready for you to cook gourmet meals in and an outdoor wood fired pizza oven. We run the inn bot

Fantastic B&B!

My fiance and I traveled back to Ithaca to attend a friend's wedding at Cornell, our alma mater. We were not interested in staying in an expensive chain hotel and found Humble Hill Lodge as an alternative. It was wonderful!! We stayed for two nights and had two delicious breakfasts. The rooms were clean and beautiful, the farm was great, and Patty Sullivan (our hostess) and her family were fantastic! The price was perfect and we would definitely come back! We highly recommend this B&B to anyone!!

Great B&B

I really like the location. It's secluded, well maintained and the breakfast, all made with organic and on-site farm grown products, was amazing. Definitely recommend booking a get-a-way here.

Wonderful and authentic

I liked this place. It was like going to visit a friend , or soon-to-be friend. It was run by a family who operates a farm and was what I'd call authentic. It is not designed to be a B&B per se, not one of those fancy indulgent places but I ended up really enjoying it. Very hospitable and a delicious breakfast! We even got a little tour of the farm by the granddaughter!!

A little hard to find, but well worth it!

My wife and I stayed here while visiting a friend in nearby Ithaca. We had a great stay. The farm/B and B are way out n the country, and so can be a little hard to find. I would recommend calling ahead to get directions as our GPS tried to send us down a-now non-existent logging road. Patty took great care of us. The room we stayed in was very comfortable, and the breakfast in the morning was delicious, fresh, and plentiful. In a moment of going-above-and-beyond, I forgot my camera in the room, and Patty tracked me down via phone and returned the camera by mail. That was remarkable to me, and I deeply appreciated it. If you are looking for a quiet place to stay in the greater Ithaca area, I would recommend a stay at Humble Hill Lodge.

Nice and cosy

We loved our tour of the farm and it was such a quiet and relaxing place to stay.

Like most other people, we at first thought that google maps was leading us on a wild goose chase, but as soon as we arrived at humble hill (even late as it was) Patty greeted us with a smile, introduced us to the guests that had already arrived, and immediately set out making us something hot to drink. We stayed up and chatted with Patty and the other guests for a bit before heading off to our very comfortable and well made rooms. A bar of fantastic smelling soap and towels for each of us were already laid out for a morning shower, and the bed was super comfortable. Breakfast the next morning was, to say the least, a-ma-zing. Fruit and yogurt, blueberry pancakes, and what tasted like homemade sausages were all on the menu. We didn't leave disappointed at all and look forward to bringing friends back for hiking and wine touring in Ithaca!

Probably what you're looking for

Everything about the stay was relaxing and easy, just like time spent in the finger lakes on vacation should be. HH was not hard to get to, we were welcomed in at a late hour, and if we had any questions or needed anything for the duration of the stay, Patty was always around. Comfortable bed, delicious food, a FANTASTIC farm tour (you'll have to go just for this), etc. We'll be back.

Cozy and Great breakfast!

The place was very nice and clean. The service and food were excellent. Patty was very helpful and kind. You would feel like home. However, the way to this place is a non-asphalt road and very quiet so you'd better come during the day or else it would be a bit scary during the night.

We can't wait to go back!

We absolutely LOVED our relaxing stay at the Humble Hill Farm. My husband and I with our infant son were attending a wedding in nearby Ithaca, NY, and the farm was the perfect choice. It was quiet and cozy. We spent one afternoon reading in the living room while the baby napped. Breakfast was delicious and we especially enjoyed the farm tour from the innkeeper's grandson! Delightful all around.

We are located on a country dirt road. The road is very well maintained, but vintage car owners may be concerned. Very Very important GPS is WRONG you WILL get LOST is you follow it. Instead we recommend Google Maps.We are one turn off the main road of Route 96. Coming from the south this will be a right, coming from the north its a left. Once on Tallow Hill you stay left and continue up the hill approximately 2.5 miles. You will drive through woods and totally undeveloped land then emerge from the woods to open fields. You will pass 2 traditional white farm houses on your left, which are close to the road . 1 contemporary white farm house again on the left, then The Lodge is the next driveway on the right #467. The lodge is set back a ways off the road, feel welcome to pull in the driveway and park near the house.
