My wife and I love to stay in B&Bs when we travel for the opportunity they provide to meet different people and share the individual charm they each bring to their accommodations. The Van Cleef Homestead was clean, comfortable and relaxing and the Gibbs' couldn't have been friendlier or more accommodating.

Innkeeper Response
Thanks you, sincerely, for offering a review about your stay at our B&B. We enjoy meeting all the wonderful people who come stay with us, and it is very gratifying when we can meet all of your expectations - and beyond. Thanks again, and we hope we have the opportunity to host stay in the future.

Sweet stay

Kids and I had a brief visit to move my son to college. I loved it and that’s what matters! We will return for college functions etc. I always prefer the B and B to a hotel. The VanCleef was perfect!

Innkeeper Response
Thank you for your kind words about your stay with us. We had three college students and their parents in one week, and it brought great memories of when we were taking our son and daughter to college. We will look forward to your return over the next 4 years! Thanks, again!

A Beautiful Home with a Great Host and Convenient Location

5 on August 21, 2018

This beautiful and comfortable home was exactly what my friend and I needed for a girls' getaway. The beds were comfortable. The room was very spacious and I loved that we had control over the temperature. The private bath had great water pressure - something that doesn't always happen on the second floor of an old home. We loved talking to Carol about the history of the home. The garden, which she tends, is stunning. The weather didn't allow us to use the pool (next time!) but we really enjoyed the porch. Breakfast was both delicious and ample - we did not need to eat again until 3:30 p.m.! That allowed us to fit in a lot of sight seeing. Speaking of which, you can walk to the heart of Seneca Falls, so long as it isn't storming. And if you need any recommendations, Carol knows the community well. We had a lovely time! Thank you, Carol!

Innkeeper Response
Thanks so much for taking the time to tell others about our B&B and your experience with us. You pointed out things that most don't mention, like room temp, water pressure and gardens. When seeing a review of this nature, it makes working hard so worth it. We want to give our guests the best experience at our B&B, and knowing your enjoyed your stay and appreciated the little things is very gratifying. Thank you!

Perfect Haven

5 on August 09, 2018

Our arrival was late due to a delayed flight, but Carol was there to greet us when we walked onto the porch. We felt very welcome. In the morning, breakfast was bountiful and delicious. The Inn is spotlessly clean and very comfortable. They also have a "welcoming puppy", Cady, who is a perfect greeter. We highly recommend this B & B.

Innkeeper Response
It is sincerely appreciated when delayed guests keep us informed, so thank you for that! Short of tucking people in, we make sure our guests arrive safely and get a proper introduction to their room and the B&B. Thank you for letting other travelers know about your positive experience. Cady now thinks she is the official greeter, so expect lots of licks and wagging tale!

Fun, beautiful stay - close to everything!

4.0 on August 02, 2018

Our stay at the VanCleef Homestead BnB was clean and comfortable. It was a super easy to walk into town for a delicious pub meal and to visit the Historical Women’s Park and Museum. Our hostess, Carol was very helpful with winery advice, giving us coupons and making sure we stayed safe through our travels. Carol is friendly and personable - not to mention she just got an adorable puppy named Cady and let us play with her like she was our own! We would highly recommend this BnB to anyone and would love to return in the future. Thank you Carol for your hospitality and if you choose to stay here give Cady a cuddle for us!

Everything a. B&B should be!!

5 on April 25, 2018

Our stay at the Van Cleef was too short! Carol was a wonderful hostess who has thought of every detail to make the inn a delightful place to spend some time. The lovely living room with fireplace gave us a cozy spot to wind down the day of travel. The bed was perfect. Loved the claw foot bath tub! And breakfast was scrumptious. Looking forward to traveling that way again! Thank you Carol.

Innkeeper Response
It is always nice to know that our guests enjoyed a stay at our B&B and that we are doing it right! Thank you for the time spent telling others about your experience. It is wonderful having guests who enjoy the little things we do. Our B&B is not just a "bed", but it is the whole package with a personal touch. We offer an experience that is exactly what we would want from a stay at a B&B. Thank you!

Lovely stay at Christmas

4.6 on December 31, 2017

It is awesome that this B&B was available Christmas Day, when we headed home from our family visit, and stayed in Seneca Falls as our half-way point. Carol was also very accommodating for us to have a couple of local friends join us at breakfast for what was a long time reunion with a college roommate. We loved our room, and she left a key available in case we arrived when she was out. Will return if in the area again.

Innkeeper Response
It is such a great pleasure to have guests return, and return, and return for another visit! They become like old friends passing through!! It is also our pleasure to make staying here convenient, even if on a holiday. It is so very kind of you to make the extra effort to review our B&B and tell folks what we are all about. We were so happy to see you again and make our home a place for you to greet old friends. We look forward to your return!!

Signature Dish

Baked French Toast
French Toast made with Amish homemade bread, baked with fresh fruit, such as blueberries, apples, or peaches. Our guests have told us we should find another name for this dish, as the term "French Toast" doesn't do it justice!
