The 1850 House Inn & Tavern would be recognizable to visitors not only by its brick exterior but also due to the loving preservation of the Inn's original old wood and brick in the nook-and-cranny filled floor plan. Inside the ten guest rooms- which includes a two bedroom suite- await fine linens, WiFi and beverage coolers. Views of the Rondout and of Main Street are accented by the carefully selected photographic enlargements feel like gigantic windows into the Rosendale of a bygone era. Scenes take guests back in time during the days of the vibrant cement industry and forward to the rockin' days of the late 1950's and 1960's. An onsite Tavern, waterfront deck and restaurant complete your experience here in Rosendale, N.Y.

I could not have been happier with my stay at the 1850 House. It is a beautiful, charming old building that has been tastefully modernized without ruining the integrity of its history. They have a beautiful brand new deck out back overlooking the creek. Service was wonderful and breakfast was delicious every day. I loved exploring Rosendale, a charming little town. And the 1850 House is close to other sites such as New Paltz and the Tuthilltown Distillery. I cannot recommend this bed and breakfast enough.

After a long drive from Cape Cod, Mass., it was refreshing to arrive at the 1850 House and find such wonderful accommodations and a very friendly staff. We would recommend this establishment to our friends and family.

Tastefully renovated, nice attention to detail, good food. Not much to do in the surrounding town tho. Great potential if someone puts in some shops and restaurants in Rosendale, this B&B will flourish.

I loved the 1850 House...beautifully restored, retaining the best features of the original, historic building with attractive new furniture, comfortable beds, spotless modern bathrooms, windows that open (with screens) and fully controllable air conditioner/heater unit. Incredible thoughtful touches like a stocked beverage cooler, TVs that can be seen from anywhere in the room, bathrobes and bathroom amenities. The pretzel croissants at breakfast are delicious. The staff and owner are incredibly welcoming and helpful. I loved everything about this place.
