Sugar Hill Suites offers an elegant taste of New York City unlike any other hotel or bed and breakfast. Come indulge in pure late 19th century Victorian elegance. You will feel more than at home when you stay with us – in fact, we guarantee that you won’t want to leave! Newly renovated and equipped with plush beds, Wi-Fi services, kitchenettes, private bathrooms, and décor that House & Beauty would rave about, the rooms at Sugar Hill Bed & Breakfast are simply unparalleled. Featuring eight private suites for your distinct pleasure, you can experience classic New York in the finest tradition. And the convenience and price are unparalleled! Located at West 141st between Amsterdam and Convent, we are located a stone’s throw from the subway, a sleepwalking excursion to the buses, and a mere fifteen-minute auto transit to mid-town Manhattan. You will find yourself conveniently located in the historic district only minutes away from Columbia University, one of the crème de la crème of the Ivy League. The area is home to many of the city’s elite jazz clubs, music halls, theaters, and old-style speakeasys (believe it or not they were once called blind pigs and blind tigers). Most visitors to Central Park never see its northern reaches, which is a pity. Some of the most interesting and challenging terrain can be found here, and a bike ride around the area is well worth the time. Begin by walking north on Lenox Avenue, renamed Malcolm X Boulevard after one of Harlem’s most famous sons. Hope you enjoy but always keep in mind…there’s so much more to see!

Went to this place a few hours after first landing in NY with my boyfriend. We had our suitcases with us, and looked like a mess only because we had just got off a red eye flight and waited patiently in a nearby fast food location to get to Sugar Hills around 930am. I had made a reservation about a month in advanced. I called the day before our flight to confirm that they could do an early check in for 10am as we landed at JFK at 6am and knew we would be extremly tired if we were to get no sleep. On the phone, owner said we would be able to have early check in. As soon as we rang the door bell, the owner looked at us as if we were crazy for going there at 930 in the morning. I explained to her that we had a reservation, and had called the day before and spoken to a woman who told us we could get early check in. The OWNER THEN INSULTED US and accussed us of being out all night drinking alcohol. Mind you, we had our suitcases with us and were straight off a plane with ZERO hours of sleep. Owner told us that we were crazy and would have to come back in 2 hours. We then went back to the nearest fast food location and waited 2 hours. We go back to the hotel, ring doorbell and OWNER YELLS AT US AND TELLS US TO COME BACK IN TWO MORE HOURS as a room would not be ready. My boyfriend and I decided to leave and take our money elsewhere where we would not be INSULTED for looking presentable but somewhat like a mess from once again getting ZERO HOURS OF SLEEP and coming straight off a red eye flight from Los Angeles. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. DISRESPECT ALL AROUND. Just because we are in our 20s does not mean you can insult a customer who decided to bring their money to your establishment like that, and accuse them of lying and calling them crazy, and also telling them multiple times that a room would be ready in a few hours and that was not the case. DONT STAY HERE.

These wonderful people took my son in at 1 AM when he arrived in New York and the place he had lined up to stay at fell through. He told me if he could live there he would. The room was beautiful and clean and had everything he needed. When we come to visit New York we will come here. Why spend 5 or 600 dollars for an average hotel room when you could have a gorgeous suite that makes you feel at home for 1/3 of the price?
