We had a delightful stay at Storm King Lodge which is very conveniently located for a trip to the fabulous Storm King Art Center. Hal is a wonderful host and a great conversationalist. He also makes great bacon!

Our first vacation in the Hudson Valley area. Wonderful accommodations and hospitality. Highly recommend to those who want a friendly environment with first class service. The breakfast was outstanding!

The place is very nice. It truly reflects the country setting it is in. The innkeeper, Hal, goes out of his way to make things just right. The photos shown are as it REALLY is! The next time I'm in the Cornwall area, which is at least twice a year for 3 to 4 days, I will more than likely stay there again. (Marcel Francisco - NYMA '74)

My stay was great. The lodge is in a beautiful converted barn with great views of the rolling mountains. The host was friendly, accommodating, and charming. The food was great. And I slept like a baby.

The very best, most unique, grand, comfortable second home you could ever ask for! Eight of us for a family reunion, Hal saw to all our needs...which were many, varied and....well... This is the place for meeting other thoughtful people from all walks of life! Rooms were spotless, filled with goodies, beds were comfey, breakfast bountiful and delicious. Hall saw to it tickets were purchased, cars repaired and just everything. Right on top of world class art, great American history and natural history which will make you want to change your major! BRAVO! ( not to mention the cottage! )

I chose this B&B because of its proximity to Storm King Art Center, and it was wonderful! Very gracious host, Hal, who had written directions plus verbal advice about all the restaurants and "to do " items in the area. He personalized breakfast requests beautifully, plus an entire shelf and fridge full of snacks. His library had lovely art books, and that porch! Loved sitting there with coffee cup each am.

We rented the entire cottage (two rooms and common area) for a long weekend visit to West Point in Oct 2014. The B&B was convenient and the hospitality and friendliness of the owner, Hal, and his staff was heartwarming. We will come back.

My boyfriend and I had a lovely stay at Hal's place, just five minutes away from the Storm King Arts Center. Hal was accommodating, friendly and made us feel at home in his lodge. We look forward to going back to stay there again! This is a great place to have a relaxing time away from the city for a weekend, or for longer!

Great views, clean rooms, and close proximity to Storm King and West Point make this a great place to stay for the weekend. It's minutes away from Storm King Art Center. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty and Hal the inkeeper was helpfully armed with restaurant and activity recommendations.

I had a lovely weekend staying here. The nearby Storm King sculpture garden was awesome! Breakfast was wonderful. Rooms are clean and relaxing. It is a quick drive to West Point if you are there for West Point events or to see your cadet.

We had a wonderful time at the Storm King Lodge B&B. Hal was jovial and helpful! Breakfast each morning was delicious. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfy. A lovely escape from the city for the weekend. You must see the Storm King Art Center if you make the trip!

This is a beautiful and historic lodge, spacious, sunny and full of history. Our room was spacious, comfortable, the food was delicious and generous. They graciously accommodated my special diet.

My boyfriend and I really loved this place. Warm, friendly people (Hal is full of stories and recommendations for local restaurants, attractions, etc); very comfortable rooms; great breakfasts (french toast one day, frittatas the next); nestled amidst fields and trees with beautiful foliage this time of year, a few minutes' drive to Storm King sculpture park.

hal was a great host and good cook. the common room really was lodge-like; it made just sitting worthwhile. the open porch (with barn swallows) was almost as inviting. the 60-foot pool was just big enough for a desperate lap swimmer and a blessing. gay was away on weekend we stayed, but we expect she would have made the stay even better.

It was in such a lovely area, far from the madding crowd, but close enough to sites and places to visit to make it interesting. And the pool was an absolute joy on a hot day!

We recently stayed at the Storm King Lodge in Mountainville, NY just outside Cornwall and it was terrific. Great rooms, fantastic pool and a great breakfast. The innkeeper friendly and funny and is willing and ready to give you all kind of info on local things to or and places to eat. My wife and i will cant wait to go back. There are many, many Bed and Breakfasts in the Hudson Valley.....this one is a real gem. (the pool is fantastic.)

Lovely relaxing setting with hospitable, companionable innkeepers. Would be hard to find a nicer combination. Breakfast was fresh delicious varied and available at the time we requested. Minutes from Storm King which is what took us to this part of New York.

If you stay during the summer be sure to make time for the pool. It's big, clean, painted black to retain heat and looks totally bad-assed. The room was more than big enough and the food was unique and tasty. Great place.

Wonderful location. Views and scenery beautiful.. Only outdone by the gracious and attentive inn-keeper Hal. He , not only prepared wonderful meals, but acted as a local tour guide, with maps and suggestions for day trips etc. We stayed 3 days and felt at home every single one. WIll return, and will recommend this Inn to each person we know. Especially visitors to West Point , as Hal has a special connection Matt and Colleen (Atlanta)

Had a great time at Storm King Lodge after going to Storm King Art Center nearby. If the weather had been better and warmer, we would have taken a dip in the lovely pool surrounded by trees! Hal provided a delicious breakfast and it was a great getaway only a little over an hour from NYC! Thanks again!

We had a great one night stay here at the separate guest cottage. The space was clean and comfortable, and had it's own private bathroom. Hal was very welcoming and accommodating, and made a delicious breakfast in the morning too. We would love to come back again!

We had a very nice one-night stay at Storm King Lodge. Pretty, clean, and comfortable, with a friendly and helpful proprietor--and an excellent breakfast. We were there before peak season started and had the place to ourselves. The reasonable price makes it even better. I certainly recommend.

We just returned from a weekend trip to the Storm King Lodge. It was the most relaxing time we've had in ages. Hal made us feel welcomed from the moment we arrived. He's a fun and helpful host, and he made some mean blueberry/plum french toast! We were in town for the wedding, and we're so thankful that it gave us an excuse to spend a few days here. We took full advantage of the pool, and we're already planning our next trip. Highly, highly recommended.

Hal and Gay run a perfect place to wind down or, if you wish, use as a headquarters to run off to see all the many attractions in the area. The rooms are large with comfortable beds and you wake up i the morning to a sumptuous breakfast. My wife and I had a wonderful time.

Storm King lodge is a delightful place and one that I would recommend to others. The surroundings are beautiful and numerous activities are easily assessable from the Lodge. However I have one comment and one that if you are there for a lesiurely stay may not matter to you. As guests of the lodge, we requested our breakfast seating for 0900 and planned our day accordingly based on leaving the lodge right after eating. Unfortunately, breakfast wasn't ready for us at 0900 and we had to wait until 0925 which caused us to have to shorten our day in the area. I believe with additional help and/or planning, breakfast seatings might go smoother in the future.

My wife, son and I stayed at the Storm King Lodge for one night as we were traveling south. Wonderful place (cozy room and private bath), warm hosts, great breakfast (frittata, etc.), satisfying sleep... Great room allowed us to lounge around and read/talk... We'll be back!!

We arrived with a scant three hours notice and were warmly welcomed by Hal, our stellar host. Our room had a lovely fireplace, the ambience was perfect. The post and beam barn had been converted beautifully and was a great space to relax in front of the large fireplace in the great room with the Sunday Times. When you stay there ask for the frittata, it is delicious! We look forward to going back in the summer to enjoy the gorgeous gardens and pool. We travel constantly and Stormking stands out as a "we must go back" place to stay, a rare thing in our lives.

We had a wonderful experience staying in the guest house adjacent to the main house. My family including my 80 year old parents and two sons found the accomodations to be absolutely comfortable, clean and most relaxing. The breakfast and service along with the attention to detail from the owners and staff was outstanding. We're going back!

Enjoying the warmth in front of the grand old fireplace was our favorite gathering place. A wonderful experience!

The Storm King Inn was the gem of the Hudson Valley, and gave our romantic getaway loads of charming memories. Biggest regret??? Stay was too short. Innkeeper Hal, was the the absolute best. Although quite the entertaining gentleman, he gave excellent recommendatios ( and directions )to superior dining establishemants. Would definitley stay again.

My husband and I have visited the Storm King Lodge three times and plan to return soon. Coming from the big city, we are always happy to find a place where we can sleep soundly and awake to birdsong and fresh air. The lodge is surrounded by trees and green grass, featuring an outdoor pool for summertime swims and a well-tuned grand piano in the common room. We also love visiting in the winter when snow blankets the fields. The Storm King Art Center is located just minutes away, and Dia:Beacon is also conveniently close. This is a great place to come home to a cozy evening in front of the fire with a good book after a day of walking among breath-taking artworks outside. The rooms at Storm King Lodge are spacious, clean, and homey. Each one has a slightly different feel. Our favorite is the Pine Room with its wood-covered floors, walls, and ceilings - like a private log cabin, but more comfortable. Hal and Gay Janks are kind and discreet hosts, providing a delicious home-cooked breakfast buffet and interesting conversation without being too intrusive. Highly recommended!

Our experience at Storm King was wonderful. The setting is beautiful and peaceful, and the hosts were lovely. They were knowledgeable of the area and eager to help make our experience the best. The Pine room is more charming that the pictures depict. Plenty of nice dining and shopping in the area and the Storm King Sculpture grounds are a must see! We spent a large part of the day there. Local wineries, and incredible hiking nearby were other highlights of our weekend.

I stayed at the Stormking Lodge last weekend with my girlfriend. Upon arrival at this charming renovated barn, Hal, the owner, greeted us with a glass of wine to go with his cheesy orientation. Just kidding. It was a great orientation, because he help us pick out which restaurants (out of his spot on recommendations) we wanted to eat at during our stay, and then provided us with copies of detailed directions, which was a nice touch. We chose to eat at the River Bank on Friday night, which was wonderful and only five minutes away. Great food, great drinks, and great service. Came back to the lodge that night and cozied up to a romantic fire in our bedroom (the Pine Room). The next day we woke to hot coffee and a wonderful breakfast; fruit, granola, gourmet French toast, and apple chicken sausage. We went to the Stormking Art Center to see the Caulders in the morning, and then stopped at the Brotherhood Winery in the early evening. Unfortunately, we chose not to eat dinner at Hal's recommendation of Cena 2000 that night, but chose to eat at Torches in Newburg. Torches was okay at best. We'll definitely try Cena 2000 the next time. Back to the lodge for another romantic fire in the bedroom, and another wonderful breakfast the next day; fruit, granola, frittatas and bacon. Yummm. On our way home that day, we stopped at Harriman State Park for a great day hike to see the fall colors. It turned out to be a very special weekend.

The hosts are congenial and very knowledgable about the area. They gave us good advice about local restaurants and directions to various sites. The location has natural beauty and is convenient to the area's attractions. The conversation around the breakfast table was interesting and varied, and the atmosphere all around the inn was relaxed.
