The spa is lovely to hang out in, the pool is a bit cool and small but the steam and sauna provide sweating room and then hanging out by the pool with fabulous views... the changing but always excellent afternoon tea and breakfast each morning varieties are wonderfully good quality, from their local bakery. Henry's restaurant on the property is excellent too but leave space for the amazing desserts, which we missed and will be back for.

Quaint and comfortable B and B. Very attentive staff. Great free breakfast and lunch. Stunning location. Easy to get to. Henry's has a great menu and wine list. Cats.

We planned this as a birthday getaway for my partner's birthday...and we participated with great happiness in a special event-tasting dinner organized by the onsite restaurant, Henry's at the Farm. We stayed only one nigh at the INN, but I feel it is a "discovery" and would highly recommend it to others...

We visited on a Sunday overnight- the weather was not nice, but the inn was great. Warm and inviting, fireplace burning. They had champagne waiting in out beautifully decorated room. We stayed in the main in, rooms are not large but very nicely appointed. Ours had a fireplace at the end of the bed and a jetted tub in the bathroom. We had a nice patio facing the gardens .Breakfast was excellent as was the afternoon tea and pastries. Although the weather was not nice (we visited in early December) we walked the grounds which were very pretty. We will definately be back.

Loved that you could order a healthy lunch at the spa and just relax and hang out all day before and after your treatment. We stayed in the Winterberry room which was beautiful but next time maybe would have done one of the most secluded cottages. Breakfast in the morning was great! Very easy getaway if you're looking to just relax for a couple of days. Loved dinner 5 minutes away at the Shipyard!

I cannot even begin to describe how beautiful the Buttermilk Falls Inn & Spa truly is. My husband and I decided to take a quick weekend getaway from NYC and, outside of how close it was from the City, the Inn's charm (not to mention the incredible restaurant) was an experience we will never forget. We went in October (I definitely recommend this time of year for the foliage). We will be making this a regular weekend spot!

We stayed at Buttermilk just for one night-wish it could have been more. We stayed in a house (River Birch?) which was wonderfully comfortable for our gang. The property is beautiful, and spectacular in the fall. Tea was great, as was breakfast.

I found Buttermilk Falls upon an extensive search of this area on the Hudson after reading "Boys in the Boat". We are from the UK, and were looking for a unique bed and breakfast experience in New York State to explore the river valley and were pleased with the beauty and comfort of the accommodation and restaurant. My only recommendation to Buttermilk Falls is to better publicise the Hudson's rowing history and make a feature of this within the living and dining areas. Walking down to the Hudson and imagining the University crews racing with spectators of 150,000 people was very emotional for me. The Poughkeepsie annual university regatta of the late 1800s and early 1900s was the largest spectator sport in the USA at that time - and the train line that travels just below Buttermilk Falls once held moving bleachers to follow the race as the teams competed for 4 miles on the Hudson. The competitors included teams from likes of Harvard, Yale, Cornell and of course the famous University of Washington 8 that went on to win the Berlin Olympics just before the start of WWII. Truly fabulous history and one that Buttermilk Falls would benefit greatly from in targeting history tourists from around the world like myself.
