When you need a break from the city, this place is perfect. The spa on site is wonderful, and getting to hang out by the pool in the sun-filled solarium when it’s 30 degrees out is so relaxing. Henry’s, the farm-to-table restaurant on the property has really delicious food. The breakfast and tea options in the inn are also really nice.

Our stay at Buttermilk Falls was exceptional. It was in celebration of our 30th anniversary. The Grand Laurel room was spacious and beautiful. The food at the Inn was delectable. We enjoyed walking about the farm and going hiking. Everything about the trip was awe inspiring. We look forward to going back in the spring.

We stayed in the Grand Laurel for our 30th Anniversary. It was a beautiful experience! I loved the atmosphere in the Inn, especially the 3 pm tea and cakes! The fireplace and soaking tub made our stay even more relaxing. The workers were accommodating and welcoming. It was fun hiking and observing the animals on the farm. We had a blessed time!

We rented the river knoll house with 3 bedrooms and 31/2 baths and with a Hudson River view. It was a beautiful house in every regard. It is a very modern house, unlike the rustic main house. I would say that the house could use improvements in the following ways- kitchen lacked some equipment/supplies like bar accessories, Martnez ni glasses shaker, Tupperware, higher grade towels and sheets. These to me did not reflect the the level of accommodations of high end hotels etc elsewhere for the price. Th vanity in my room had brok n drawers, there were several recessed lights that were out, shortage of firewood that was not automatically replaced but was eventually done n the middle of the afternoon. This may seem negative but was still an excellent stay. One couple in our group found the mattress completely unacceptable. After a call that complain, it was promptly replaced with a New mattress and a complimentary bottle of Prosecco. This was a really nice touch and very impressive. But these types of things that I’ve shar d above really should be vetted prior to a customer having to complain. Breakfast was great. Really Cozy place and good food. Service people were very nice. Henri’s was incredible. It was an amazing restaurant. I would return and recommend but hope those proactive touches are in place next time.

I stayed here for their Summer Sojourn in August 2017 - I should have posted this sooner but it's totally my fault that I didn't. This is a beautiful and sweet place to get away from it all. Their grounds are so pretty, their rooms are charming (I stayed in Rook's Nest and can heartily recommend it), their spa was wonderful and, OMG, their farm to table breakfasts were so delicious!! Every single staff member - including the bar and wait staff at Henry's - was so dedicated to making my stay the best it could be. I felt super valued as their guest! I recommend this to anyone who wants a nice getaway that's off the beaten track but not so far off that you can't get there easily.

This was a last minute impromptu overnight weekday getaway from NYC to clear away the cobwebs and midwinter ennui. An overnight snowfall completed the beauty of the setting.
