We spent a week in this lovely studio, perfectly situated in the heart of Upper West Side NYC. Monica&Larry are extremely nice hosts, helpful, giving good advice where to shop, to eat or to got sightseeing. The facilities are excellent, the furniture match style of the old town house. Very "gemütlich" - we felt very much at home and can highly recommend this individual jewel.

This studio apartment was perfect for 2 people. It was beautifully updated and decorated. Our hostess was very helpful and knowledgeable. After many trips to the city, this location was our favorite. This area of the UWS contains fabulous restaurants only blocks away from the apartment. Grocery stores are close as well. The 85th street Central Park entrance is convenient as well. We highly recommend this group of apartments and plan to return soon.

Our first trip to New York, Larry and Monica were outstanding hosts. so much info on arrival, really helped us find everything we need to get around New York and great restaurants to eat every night. The brownstone apartment was in a great location, easy to walk to restaurants and subway, we even walked along the river to Town. There are also gourmet supermarkets close by to buy your own food to use in apartment. Felt we experienced a little of Upper West Manhattan living. We slept really well and the apartment was very clean and well looked after. Plenty of space in the one bedroom apartment, bathroom was lovely and plenty of hot water etc. I believe you get that special personal touch on your holiday staying here. Enjoy you won`t be disappointed Graham and Sue x

My husband and I had a fantastic stay in this accommodation recently. We were there for 10 days but would have liked to have stayed much longer. Larry was a marvellous and highly informed host (we didn't meet Monica as she was away) and just a genuinely lovely man. The accommodation was very quiet and homely. We had everything we needed - the bed was comfortable and pretty and the apartment was charming.

Rosa & Adriano.

Staying in this nice, charming and very cosy victorian style apartment was a wonderful experience. It felt like home from the very first moment. Also because Monica is a very warm and welcoming host. She gave us great tips and suggestions on what to do and see and she was always very kind to help us for further information. The apartment kitchen makes it even possible to cook a little dinner or prepare breakfast. There are lots of nice little restaurants close by. It is also a perfect location to visit the city. The metro ist just a few minutes from the house and it drives you easily to the city center. It was especially nice for us to stay in a residential area away from the center of the city but close to central park, where we enjoyed running in the morning. Moreover, the apartment gave us wonderful and quite moments of rest in between the exiting city exploration. We stayed in the room 4F which was very comfortable for two people. We would highly recommend the West Townhouse to anyone who wants to visit nyc and experience the lifestyle and comfort oft he Upper West Side. - We will be back!

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed a week at The West Townhouse. The location was perfect, if you want to be away from the crowds and yet close to the Metro, Central Park, and some good eateries. Monica and Larry are great hosts. If you need anything they are available, and yet you have privacy, like having your own place for a week. My husband and I would definitely return, hopefully soon, as there is so much to explore in NYC--the city that never sleeps!!!

The basics: Lovely, large, well furnished, spotlessly clean, elegantly characterful brownstone apartment, with good kitchen and very comfortable bed in a great location. (Air con would probably struggle a little in summer). The experience: Our New York week was exactly what we hoped for and more. We wanted to experience the city from a real neighbourhood rather than a hermetically sealed high-rise hotel room, and that is exactly what this location, and a great apartment provided; excellent delis and restaurants just around the corner and a large and beautiful room to retreat to. Any concerns about city noise (our apartment faced the street) disappeared behind efficient double glazing at night. The Upper West Side is vibrant, wealthy and well established, and its bohemian past still colours its atmosphere - all of which sets it above the relative superficiality of the trendy developing areas and the slightly anodyne aloofness of the Upper East Side. Difficult to imagine a better location from which to enjoy the city and Central Park. Monica gets the balance exactly right in terms of the advice and help she offers and the considerable privacy the apartments provide. Her warm welcome is genuine and Studio 4F instantly became our home from home for the week. We did most of the touristy things people do on a first visit and enjoyed them hugely - but returning to our West Townhouse apartment each day gave us an altogether more rounded connection to the city, and something more special than the category ratings can accommodate. If and when we pay a return visit to New York we’ll be hoping Monica and Larry are still offering apartments in The West Townhouse. Mick and Debbie (UK)
