Overlook on Hudson Bed and Breakfast, located on the bank of the scenic Hudson River, is just minutes from West Point and less than one hour from New York City. The B and B was built on the original foundation of financier JP Morgan's 1880 home where the fireplaces and expansive patios still exist. In the mid 1970's Overlook on Hudson was the residence of Billy Joel where he composed his popular song 'New York State of Mind'. In addition to the incredible river front property, great location, tastefully decorated rooms and original art work throughout, china, silver, crystal, and exceptional bed linens are used to pamper you further. From our B and B you can visit the Hudson Valley's many historic sites, Storm King Art Center, Woodbury Commons Premium shopping Outlets, or choose to just relax poolside and enjoy the boats passing by on our majestic Hudson River.

What a happy accident finding "Overlook in Hudson Bed and Breakfast". Wonderful hostess Jim and Roxane, have a very charming house with impecable elegance and decoration, the Hudson River breath taking views with showing off eagles while relaxing at the pool with a zen waterfall. The room was comfortable with a great taste. The yummy breakfast, service and the very interesting entertaining stories about the house and surroundings made our stay more fun. We had one of the most incredible experiences of B and B. We definitely recommend and will be back to this great jewel. Thank you Roxane and Jim for your hospitality, it was a great stay!!! My husband and I have stayed here on several occasions when visiting our son at West Point. Roxanne and Jim treated us like family. Everything from the welcome you receive from Roxanne, the beautiful accommodations, meeting the other guests, the fabulous breakfast that Jim serves and the beautiful views of the Hudson made out time there memorable. We will miss visiting regularly now that our son has moved on from West Point but we hope to get back to visit in the future. This is a gem!

We have just returned from a delightful trip to the Hudson Valley and must tell you what a fantastic experience we had at Overlook on Hudson! The view from our room was just spectacular. The home is a showcase of beautiful furnishings and decor inside and out. Roxanne and Jim were wonderful hosts. The food was delicious and served in a manner that made us feel like honored guests. The location is convenient to many points of interest and Roxanne was an excellent resource recommending places to see and experience. Thank you so much for a lovely stay!

My partner and I stayed here to celebrate her birthday. We were looking for a nice place to relax, and we found the perfect experience at overlook! Roxanne warmly greeted us and showed us around the beautiful house and property. We stayed in the eagles watch room which was decorated very nicely and had a great view of the pool area and gorgeous mountains behind. The room also had a private bath with an awesome shower (seriously, one of the best showers ever!). The common areas of the house were absolutely lovely, but the most impressive part of the house is the pool area that has a beautiful view (photos don't do it justice!) We lounged around the pool for most of the afternoon, which was so perfect. We were offered wine and coffee--all in all Roxanne was extremely accommodating throughout our stay! Breakfast the next day was superb, Roxanne and Jim made eggs Benedict (my favorite breakfast meal!) with delicious pecan muffins and fruit. We ate outside which was a lovely way to end our stay. This was our first bed and breakfast experience and I was more than pleasantly surprised. We can't wait to come back!

Last August we took our daughter shopping at Woodbury Commons, a draining experience but a beautiful day. Thinking it might be nice to stay somewhere with a view and a nice sunrise we googled "river view B&B hudson" and found Overlook on the Hudson. Pool, view, and surprisingly, a former Billy Joel residence (big fans!). ‘Summer Highland Falls’ starts playing in my head as I called Roxanne. I was concerned about booking a B&B late in the day. She laughed a little when I said 'Tonight?" but let us know the room would be ready in the time it took to drive, and the pool would be open. We found the unassuming house on a quiet cul de sac and were welcomed by Roxanne & Jim. We got the tour & history, a beautiful home that had surprises around every corner, much larger from the inside than from the approach. Our room was wonderful, with an incredibly comfortable bed and a settee that was outfitted for our daughter to sleep on. A picture window framed the view across the Hudson. We went down to the patio & pool. Lynn & I enjoyed a bottle of wine watching the full moon rise over the river while our daughter had a starlit swim in the pool. What a great setting! Morning brought breakfast poolside. I'm a chef by profession and have to say it was one of the best breakfasts we've ever had at a B&B… muffins to die for, great coffee, elegant silver tableware, just overall excellent. We were the only guests that night and we were treated like royalty. We lingered enjoying the view, playing around with the binoculars peering at the grand estates across the river. To cap it off, as we drove home by the West Point campus were stopped at a roadblock and got to watch the 1,100 odd new West Point cadets, with full band playing, coming off the mountain at the end of their 12 mile march (in full gear) back into West Point following their 6 week Cadet Basic Training. Quite a site! Big thanks to Jim & Roxanne for a wonderful stay! Randy, Lynn & Zoe
Thank you for your kind words Randy. We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay with us and look forward to seeing you again in the future.

I had a wonderful stay at this fantastic B & B! Roxanne and Jim went out of their way to make me and my son feel at home and very special! Their home is just gorgeous with fantastic views! I was there for a West Point Parents weekend and it was wonderful to relax there with my cadet son. The breakfasts were fantastic, and there were so many extras! I can't think of staying any where else! I'm already booked for next year! I can't wait! Jennifer

Stayed at the Overlook on the Hudson for the first time and had a great weekend. Jim and Roxanne were great - very personable, helpful, and gracious. The B&B is gorgeous, breakfast was GREAT, and the location is perfect. Can't wait to go back. One of the best B&Bs I've ever stayed at!!

We just returned home from Ring Weekend at West Point. The success of the weekend was definitely in a great part due to our stay at Overlook on the Hudson. From booking our reservation to the minute we left Jim and Roxanne put us completely at ease. They are the most gracious host opening up their home. The views from there patio are both magnificent and tranquil. Roxanne's knowledge about the history of the house along with her great decorating ability add to the ambiance. Jim's breakfast along with Roxanne's muffins are superb. Our only regret is that we found this place in our son's Firstie year. Had we known sooner this would have been our go to place for all our stays at West Point. Thank you Jim and Roxanne for the wonderful weekend. Sandye and Steve

My husband and I spent last weekend celebrating our 1st wedding anniversary at "Overlook on the Hudson," and had a truly wonderful stay!! It was just what we were hoping for and MORE. The grounds are gorgeous and so peaceful. We enjoyed a picnic out on the large lawn upon our arrival. Most of our time was spent lounging in the pool which overlooks the beautiful river and hills of the Hudson River Valley. We enjoyed sipping wine while lounging about the pool and watching the boats go by on the river... Jim's breakfast in the morning was exquisite! I couldn't believe the mini pecan pies were homemade, they were so yummy! We enjoyed them with our coffee, OJ, fresh fruit, and then eggs benedict to boot! And all while basking in the beautiful morning calm of the river. Our room was also superb. We stayed in the master room upstairs, the "Billy Joel Room" (where he lived for a while while working on an album), which was very comfortable, private and beautifully decorated. Lastly, Jim and Roxanne were absolutely WONDERFUL hosts with such warm hearts and attention to detail. All in all, our time at Overlook on the Hudson was lovely, and we are already talking about when we can return. Thank you again Jim and Roxanne! ~Sarah and Joseph Ryan
