The best place in the Maritimes

We have had two exceptional stays at Trout Point over the past year and a half. This is a relaxing and romantic spot, perfect for anniversary celebrations. We have always stayed in the Fireplace Rooms, but the others look extremely nice and spacious as well. The staff lavish you with subtle service. A respite from the cares of the rest of the world!

Truly a hidden gem!

Outstanding experience. The lack of cell phone, TV and Internet fostered an environment where we were comfortable engaging in a dialog with other visitors which enhanced the overall experience. The staff were great, they catered to our every need and appeared to be enjoying it as much as we were.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location is superb--right next to a vast protected wilderness area and a nice river. We really enjoyed the kayaking and the star gazing. Sophie was an amazing waitress, and the astronomer was excllent. Trout Point is really like a mini resort, not a typical B&B!

What a hidden treasure!

Admittedly, this was the first time I had traveled solo, internationally. I was a bit trepitdatious, as I had never been to Nova Scotia before. I did very little research, and knew nothing about the area. After dodging porcupines and potholes in the foggy night (I had been thinking moose and/or bear), I was greeted by the handsome Ulysses, who was standing in the misty rain, with an umbrella. Immediately, he made me feel at ease and said he would take care of everything. I was given a hearty and heartfelt welcome by several of the staff members, and offered a complimentary glass of wine. I sat in front of the blazing fire in the great room, and allowed my cares and worries to melt away. The rest of my stay was nothing short of stellar. The staff of Trout Point Lodge surpass any I have ever encountered.Vaughn and Charlie go above and beyond to accomodate the individual requests of each guest. Every member of the staff are intelligent, and excel at multi tasking with ease. I do not want to give away too much of the secrets, but I suggest you explore, encounter, and experience them for yourself. Bienvenu! Claudia C. Swanson

The road (203) into Trout Point is bumpy and pot-holed, making for a little stress in driving, but one you arrive, it's all comfort and relaxation! the staff are very willing to please, unpretentious. Our room was gorgeous, clean and spacious! This is THE place to get away from it all.

More than exceeding expectations

Rooms are comfortable, spacious, and clean; ours had a wonderful fireplace. The main lodge has fantastic decor, and we enjoyed sitting in the Great Room. We met nice people as well, and the staff took care of every need. We really enjoyed kayaking and the wonderful cedar hot tub.

Excellent overall

The property is quiet, serene, beautiful. Dinners were lovely, the grounds and activities available are excellent. The massage by Jill and the star gazing with Rebecca were wonderful, memorable.

This lodge offers a 1st class wildness experience with Ritz Carlton comfort and Michelin 3 star cuisine! The ambiance, service and food was way beyond expectations for a beautiful lodge in the wilderness. We could have easily spent a week here doing something different every day, or just reading in peaceful surrounds with comfortable options all over the buildings and property.

Wish we could have stayed longer . . .

Last summer we visited Trout Point for 2 nights. The stay was well worth the money. We crossed over on the Nova Star ferry to Yarmouth, rented a car with Enterprise, and then drove easily to the Lodge. It's a magnificent building that suddenly appears as you crest a small hill. The rooms were everything we imagined--massive logs and handcut stones. Staff were attentive and helpful. Meals were excellent.

The best inn experience in Nova Scotia, with a wilderness twist

Everything was spectacular. Wonderful meals, including meeting and sharing conversation with the other guests. Just a spectacularly beautiful place to relax and rejuvenate. Staff were great, food was fantastic, scenery was beautiful. Star gazing, kayaking, and soups were highlights for us!
