We stayed at the Berherhof B&B during a recent trip to see the fall foliage in NH, and could not have been more pleased with our choice! From the moment we walked in the front door, we knew we chose the right place to stay. Steve greeted us at the door, took us on a tour of the inn, and gave us fantastic meal recommendations for dinner. The accommodations both in our room and in the common areas are beautiful, comfortable, and clean! We enjoyed some time hanging out in the living room with other couples also staying at the inn... and Steve had both evening snacks (yummy), 24x7 coffee/tea available, and even an honor bar should guests over 21 want it. The breakfast the next morning was the best we had on our trip to Maine & NH. We had our choice of 3 entrees expertly prepared onsite by Steve and his family, enjoyed fantastic coffee, and enjoyed nice warm showers and the heat from our in-room fireplace! We will most definitely choose the Bernerhof next time we are in the White Mountains of NH!
From the moment we arrived Steve & Katey welcomed us and truly made us feel at home. The place was beautiful. The rooms were incredible. We met so many people there and had such a great time. Relaxing, enjoying food and being pampered
Great service! The two room combo worked great for parents + daughter and was very reasonable compared to getting two room elsewhere! Room was quiet and clean. Bed was so comfy! Easy walk to downtown. Would definitely return. Hot breakfast was basic.
Highly recommend the Bernerhof Inn - we took a two week trip from VA to NY - CT -MA - RI - ME - NH - VT - NY - Niagra Falls - PA., we stayed in mostly Bed and Breakfasts and the Bernerhof Inn was our favorite. The price - the service - the room and the food. The Breakfast was the literally the best we had on the entire trip. We had hoped to stay longer but it was booked. I would highly recommend staying - even for one night.!! And don't miss the breakfast.!!!
We had such a nice stay! Gorgeous property and very comfortable rooms. The garden sitting area is wonderful! We enjoyed delicious breakfasts, excellent staff, and goodconversation with the charming owners. The horseback riding was our favorite!
We had a very nice and comfortable two day stay. We were made to feel very welcomed by Christopher when we checked in. He showed us around and to our room and explained the breakfast hours. In the afternoon, coffee, tea, and cookies are set up in one of the parlors from 3-6. Nice little relaxation time. The next time we stay there we will request a room towards the back of the house, as the truck noise can be quite loud during the early mornings! The only suggestions I have for Christopher and Eddie would be to set up coffee in the mornings for the guests to help themselves without having to disrupt their morning routine for those who like some early morning coffee. It is a beautiful house and North Conway is a beautiful area. Shopping and eating is an easy walk from the Cranmore.
I'm not typically a B&B kind of traveler, In this case, I found the experience exceptional. The owner Steve is a wonderful host and is always working to make his guests happy. Steve aided in our regional travel and exploration agenda. He is a cool fellow that aimed to please. The accommodations were perfect and comfortable. The breakfast was made to order, and delicious. They had treats sitting out including cookies and caramel apples. It was just a wonderful stay.
We have stayed at the Buttonwood 3 times and will certainly visit again. Bill & Paula are so hospitable. Paula prepares a different delicious breakfast each day and her craisin scones are the best! Bill is very knowledgeable about restaurants and activities in the area and there are discount coupons for some restaurants. It is a great location if you want to visit the Fryeburg Fair in October as we have done twice. Our favorite rooms are rooms 6 & 7 which are Deluxe+ with a separate sitting area. Both are on the second floor and look out on the front and back of the property.
My fiance and I recently visited the area and loved staying at Old Red Inn and Cottages. If you're looking for fancy, you won't find it here. However, we felt very cozy and welcomed. The breakfasts were great and the inn owners were more than happy to help us navigate around the area. The rooms could use a bit of updating- new carpets would be great, but everything was clean. We would definitely return!
The Lion and Rose was a beautiful Victorian house. The rooms were very clean and well maintained. Loved our bathroom with the clawfoot tub! The innkeepers were great. They provided good local information and we especially liked that they introduced everyone at breakfast. It was an ice-breaker which resulted in very enjoyable breakfast conversation. The breakfast was excellent. We would definitely stay at the Lion and Rose again.
My husband and I recently visited the White Mountains in New Hampshire. North Conway was a great place to have a "base" from where we could make multiple day trips to waterfalls, the Conway Scenic Railway, the Kancamagus Hwy, Franconia Notch State Park and many other sites. The home was warm and welcoming and felt like we had our own "house" in the mountains to come back to. Charlene and Rick were wonderful hosts, friendly, and full of suggestions for places to visit. We also enjoyed a wonderful horseback ride on property (they have 22 horses and 70 acres that run along the Saco River). I would highly recommend the Farm by the River to anyone traveling in that area!
The room was spacious, comfortable and tastefully decorated. The host was welcoming, charming and entertaining. The breakfast was outstanding, probably the best breakfast ever. So where is the downside you may ask, well it's that we only stayed two nights.
My wife and I stayed overnight at the Bernerhoff Inn. We loved it and plan to return. Steve was a fabulous host and sent us to a great dinner right up the road. When we returned, we had a glass of wine outside around the fire pit and went inside to warm up even more in the hot tub bath in our room. We truly enjoyed visiting with Steve and breakfast was amazing!!!
Our two night stay at The Bernerhof Inn was a breath of fresh air. We left our three kids (under the age of 7) with the grandparents and came here for some freedom and luxury. Every moment of our stay was decadent, indulgent and utterly relaxing. We stayed in the Fryeburg Suite and took advantage of the whirlpool tub. The food was impeccable, and Steve was a hoot and a half. We had planned on hibernating for two days but he made everything so welcoming we couldn't resist coming out and partaking in afternoon snacks, and watching the presidential debate with everybody. This is my new happy place, and I don't think too much time will pass before we visit again.
Staying with Bob and Emily made our stay in the White mountains. North Conway offers easy access to everywhere you would want to visit and is has good food and locally brewed beer nearby! We had a lovely welcome - wildflowers is spacious, clean, comfortable and has fresh cookies and coffee always waiting for you! The breakfast was delicious, varied, home cooked and offered plenty of choice and we didn't even need to eat lunch. We got great advice on things to do and how to do it and it all paid off - we had a glorious stay. The view of mount Washington from the terrace and the breakfast room was beautiful. As Bob says, he can't guarantee you the weather for the view but they can guarantee pretty much everything else - friendly hospitality, a comfortable room, delicious food and really everything you could need. Easy to find too and with plenty of parking. We would highly recommend staying here!! And if we return then we will be back!
My wife and I spent a couple nights at the Bernerhof for our honeymoon and couldn't have been happier with our stay. Steve, Katey and the family were incredibly professional yet warm and inviting. The food was delicious and the room was very comfortable. Even their dog, Holly, came for a hike around the property with us. Needless to say, we will be making this an every-year event.
Hosts Bob and Emily are always cheerful, friendly, and helpful - just what you would want at a bed and breakfast. Some of the rooms and the bathrooms are smallish, but even the smallest room is adequate, and more importantly, all are pleasant, clean, and comfortable. Wildflowers Inn is a hidden gem among the bigger and flashier places to stay in the North Conway area. And they don't charge an arm and a leg!
