Oak Hill is a great place for a little get-away. A nice location for a quiet, small-town feel, hosts that go out of their way to make you feel at home, and a unique historic home make this a great B&B for anyone.

The mountains of western North Carolina are a glorious reflection of Nature's grandeur regardless the season of the year. Innkeepers, Darlene and Tony, have created a welcoming cocoon of creature comforts that is the perfect foil to such expansive beauty. Oak Hill on Love Lane is not to be missed. Linda R. Atlanta

This place is amazing and I had the best birthday here !! Tony and Darlene are the absolute best innkeepers. My fiancé and I had gotten the flu a day before we were originally supposed to visit oak hill but Darlene was so accommodating and rescheduled our stay for another weekend without any hesitation!! They did everything from scheduling our dinner reservations to helping us find the perfect hiking spot along the parkway!! Truly exceptional service and hospitality and I can not wait to go back!! Also, Darlene is an amazing cook!! Breakfast each morning was sooooo yummy !! Thanks again Tony and Darlene for an awesome and relaxing weekend !!!!!:)

This past weekend was our 2nd stay at Oak Hill. The house and grounds are wonderful, with a new outdoor firepit built with local stone and local expertise. However the real difference among B&Bs is the innkeepers. Tony and Darlene do all they can to make your stay the best time possible, and they clearly enjoy doing it. We now consider Oak Hill to be our "basecamp" for exploring Waynesville and the east side of the Smokies. If you are new to B&Bs, have no qualms about starting with Oak Hill. If you have stayed at B&Bs before you'll see why Oak Hill is top notch.

We went to celebrate our wedding anniversary and this B&B was the perfect place to reconnected and have some much needed R&R. The owners (Tony & Darlene& were UNBELIEVABLY FANTASTIC! They made us reservations, had great recommendations for places to visit and things to see. The room was huge and incredibly clean, the food and snacks were wonderful, and the view and location to town were great. We can’t wait to plan our next visit back to Oak Hill.

We stayed at Oak Hill Thur. Jan. 26 for my husband's birthday. Everything about this place is outstanding. Darlene and Tony must have gone to B & B school because they were excellent hosts. This B & B is beautiful, clean, and located close to town. We liked having the coffee available 24 hrs., enjoyed the fireplace, and view, and had a delicious breakfast. Tony and Darlene are friendly and VERY helpful, recommending restaurants and even making reservations. We would definitely stay there again.!

This lovely, historical B & B located in the mountains of western NC is delightful in every way. The rooms are beautifully appointed, the morning meals and afternoon treats delicious and the hosts eager and able to cater to the wishes of their guests. The magnificent wraparound porch has a great view of the surrounding mountains and it is but a short walk to the charming downtown of Waynesville. Our weekend here was the perfect getaway.

Oak Hill on Love Lane is a fantastic B and B! It is truly a hidden treasure and we will be going back again and again! The owners Darlene and Tony are great and treat you like family. The breakfast is superb every morning and presented so personal. Our other favorite were the late afternoon/evening treats that were always so plentiful....the brownie mint cupcakes are over the top :) The home is so quaint and homey....absolutely love this place and looking forward to going back in early spring. Oak Hill on Love Lane will be our tradition every fall. Everyone that stays here will leave with the feeling of wanting to return as soon as possible. ~Tex & Ann

We had a lovely stay with Friends and enjoyed the atmosphere with warm iced brownies on a cool November Day. The Blankenship's were very cordial and offered to help with luggage. They also suggested several Dining and Shopping locations which we enjoyed.

My husband and I just wanted a weekend to get away, slow down, relax and this was perfect! Words can't describe how lovely the home is. The rooms are updated well but still have their historical charm. I loved our room but I also enjoyed having the parlor to sit in and read as well as the porch that overlooks the town and out on the gorgeous mountains (breathtaking in the fall) and of course the awesome fire pit outback. The b&b is lovely itself but Tony and Darlene really put it over the top with their eagerness to do anything to make your trip as pleasant as possible. Breakfast was great and the fresh afternoon cookies were delicious! The b&b is located in a great area as well. It has a small town feel but has A TON of unique restaurants to choose from as well as shopping and art galleries. Looking forward to our next stay here!

This B&B was intimate, cozy, and grand. Staying there was a lovely experience and the owners were gracious and welcoming. The backyard view overlooking the town from the newly renovated landscaping was gorgeous next to the firepit. Overall, I had a great experience.

This was the first time we stayed in a bed and breakfast in the US and it was a treat. The 1800 house was restored beautifully. The rooms were very comfortable and provided amenities that were thoughtful. There were two luggage racks in the room not a big deal but never happens in a hotel. Internet and cable were available. A bathroom heater as it had turned cool. Snacks, drinks available anytime. The hosts Darlene and Tony were welcoming and knowledgeable of trails and restaurants in the area. The breakfasts were delicious and in addition they provided wonderful muffins to go for later in the day. The location and grounds were perfect. We will be back!

We enjoyed our stay at Oak Hill from start to finish. Darlene and Tony were perfect hosts, and the extra details added so much to our experience. We have avoided B and B's in recent years due to past experiences-room too noisy, not modernized, breakfast so-so. We decided to give B and B's another try, and we are glad that we did.

Beautiful century old home in Waynesvillle that the new caring owners have made as inviting as it is beautiful. Immediately upon arrival we noticed many upgrades from our previous visits at this peaceful venue. Not only the most beautiful rooms and delicious breakfasts but now includes an inviting outside area complete with a waterwheel and conversational fire pit...just the place to unwind with a glass of wine after a day of trekking thru the mountains and local shops. We will be returning again, and very soon!

I can't say enough about the Inn at Oak Hill on Love Lane. The Innkeepers Darlene an Tony are fantastic! The room was comfortable and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was delicious each day and Darlene caters to dietary restrictions. She posts the breakfast menu in the dining room every day. Her fresh baked cookies are the best! We enjoyed sitting around the fire pit and talking with the other guests. We brought my brother and sister-in-law and our friends with us this time. We have all booked rooms for next year. I would recommend this Inn...it is wonderful

SPA like B&B. The hosts are super friendly and warm people. The food is delicious and like in five stars restaurant. The B&B is crispy clean and fresh, and so stylish and cozy and real feel of historical house with style. Coming back for sure.

This was our third visit to Oak Hill, and we are already looking forward to our next! We thoroughly enjoyed the new patio and fire pit additions this year, and enjoyed a great visit around the fire with the owners and other guests after dinner one evening. One of my favorite things about Oak Hill is the quietness of the house at night. I always sleep so well when there.
5 on October 18, 2016
Exceptional hosts, very friendly and warm couple. Darlene is a Great cook, and we walked into the house that had an aroma from the homemade cupcakes. Delicious breakfasts on both mornings. Great additional treats at the butlers station. Crispy clean room. Organic soap and lotion. It felt like a spa.

Lee and I were guest at Oak Hill on Love Lane B &B and wanted to let everyone know how much we enjoyed staying there. Darlene and Tony are exceptional Inn keepers taking care to address all needs of their guests in an elegant and pleasant way. Our room was very pretty, clean and was equipped with the best bedding, linens, toiletries, ladies dressing table with lighted mirror, hair dryer and bottled water. The breakfast was outstanding and served on beautiful table and China. Darlene gave each guest a bag with muffins to be shared together by couple in their own unique sitting and emailed back to her. Tony helped with our luggage and recommendations on restaurants. Lee and I loved sitting on their front porch and time spend by the fire pit seeing the view of downtown and mountains. We plan to return again next summer. The restaurant they recommended was outstanding. So glad we made this trip to Oak Hill on Love Lane. Lee and Terry

We recently stayed two nights at Oak Hill on Love Lane in Waynesville, NC, and we will definitely return. The historical home was built in 1989 and was furnished with beautiful antiques. The room that we had was roomy and romantic. The innkeepers Tony and Darlene went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect! The 3-course breakfasts were amazing! There is not one thing about the stay that I would change. We will definitely go back again!

My husband and I stayed two nights in this charming and relaxing B&B overlooking the mountains. The building itself is solid and substantial with high ceilings and thick, sturdy wall, making us feel like we were the only guests in the house! The bed was luxurious and the furnishings impeccable. The bathroom had a huge jacuzzi style tub and was furnished with goats milk soap and shampoo. Heavenly. We were greeted with fresh baked cookies, teas and coffee on demand, snacks at our disposal. We had a gourmet breakfast each morning, which was served in a fine dining room along with four additional guests, all of whom were friendly and engaging. Tony and Darlene were so accommodating and really cared about our comfort. At the end of breakfast they sent us off with some fresh baked muffins to snack on as we went about our day. I can't say enough about their amazing hospitality and the beauty of their home and grounds. Come and stay at Oak Hill on Love Lane! You won't be disappointed!

Our two night stay at Oak Hill on Love Lane could not have been better. Darlene and Tony are the ultimate hosts, made us feel so welcome and right at home, and paid great attention to detail. The home is surrounded by ancient oaks which provide a shady and relaxing place to enjoy a drink and watch the birds from the large porch. The gazebo is another wonderful place to take in the beautiful mountain views. The B&B is located down a lane off of a quiet street and it is a pleasure to take the short walk into Waynesville to enjoy the many shops and restaurants. Oak Hill is a lovely and historic home, beautifully furnished, comforting, and welcoming. We stayed in the Bobby Brese suite with a four poster bed in luxurious linens and sumptuous soaps and lotions. The sitting room was lovely, roomy, and very comfortable. Our suite was refreshed frequently throughout the day. Darlene's breakfasts were amazing, delicious, and even included "to go" muffins! Refreshments were available throughout the day. We just can't say enough about the warmth of the B&B itself coupled with the incredible hospitality of the owners - we can't wait to return. K and D

Kudos to Darlene and Toni Blankenship! You will love Oak Hill. I booked a 4 night stay here during the WNC United Methodist Annual Conference, and I was greeted with kind, sincere, excellent service. I arrived late my first night ( 8:00 pm) and was quickly and efficiently settled into my room. Breakfasts were superb and tailored to our early morning time schedules. Rooms are exceptionally clean and tastefully decorated. The view off the porch is incredible. Take time to have morning coffee or an evening drink there!! This B & B is number 1 in Waynesville, Trip Advisor is wrong placing them at #3!!

This beautiful turn of the century home has a large shaded yard and a very comfortable wide porch with wicker chairs for relaxation or reading. The entire home is exceptionally clean and the guestrooms with baths are Extremely comfortable and well apponted. Just a short walk to downtown Waynesville. Breakfast is delicious!

Darlene and Tony were wonderful hosts. They helped us find great places to eat and things to see. The Inn is beautiful and the breakfast was out of this world. We plan to return very soon.

Tony and Darlene are the best hosts by far of all B&Bs we have ever visited. They anticipate and act. We felt they were a big part of our experience. They are very knowledgeable about the places to see and things to do in this part of western NC and very forthcoming with help. Most hosts are good at answering questions. These two seem to anticipate the questions and, without being intrusive, got right involved in our visit experience.

Darlene and Toni were great hosts. They made feel at home, yet also took care of our every need. The stay at Oak Hill was just what my wife and I needed. Their attention to detail and warm hospitality will draw us back again soon!

Took my wife to this charming and historic bed and breakfast this past weekend for her birthday and we could not have had a better time! Riddled with history, ambiance and a decadent breakfast, the charming innkeepers really know how to deliver! We highly recommend staying here. Often! Having stayed at many BnB's over the years, I can say without a doubt - this is tops! Quite and luxurious over sized rooms are just the beginning. The view from the front porch over looking downtown Waynesville cannot be oversold. It's as peaceful as it gets. We found the innkeepers to be very engaging and knowledgeable of all the right local spots to go. Even some hidden gems! Tremendous value. And the coffee...wow! If you are a coffee lover - this is the place for you! We can't wait to go back! Thank you Darlene and Tony!

Let me start by saying how welcoming Darlene and Tony were before we even arrived. Upon arrival, we were greeted, bags carried upstairs, and received an in depth tour. The accommodations and ambience of the house was amazing, including the lavender accessories and nightly turn down service. The weeping cherry trees were in full bloom and you could sit on the wrap around porch or gazebo and take it all in. Their concierge service was first rate and all recommeded restaurants were excellent. .Also, the breakfast throughout our stay was incredible. Waterfalls and hiking trails were within a short drive and you could even walk to downtown Waynesville. I enthusiastically recommend this B&B to everyone wanting location, top notch customer service, and wonderful hosts! We will definitely be back soon!

The room was spacious and beautifully designed for comfort. The new innkeepers Darlene and Tony made us feel like we were part of their family. The breakfast was delicious and the little extras like fresh baked cookies each afternoon, as well a snacks and drinks available made for a very enjoyable stay. We have already booked our next stay!

We stayed 1 night as part of our 2nd honeymoon, but we wish we would've booked more nights here. Upon arrival the "old" and "new" owners were there to greet us, unloaded our luggage, and gave us a tour of the entire home. They made us feel so special and treated us like royalty! We stayed in the Bess Ray room that had the most adorable bathroom that was actually an enclosed portion of the wrap around porch. The light coming into the room was peaceful, and we really enjoyed the clawfoot tub. Breakfast was gourmet fruit cobbler and an egg/sausage/potato skillet. The inn keepers waited on us hand and foot. We didn't want to leave, so we promise to visit again soon and stay longer next time. We thank you for your southern hospitality!

What a wonderful, relaxing stop on our trip. We were on a mission to find our perfect retirement property when we stayed overnight in this lovely, charming B and B. The hosts were not only amazing cooks but they were so sweet! Their home was warm and inviting and so beautifully decorated. When I could not locate a local laundromat they were so kind to clean and fold a few outfits for us so we would have clean clothes for the remaining days of our trip. I cannot say enough nice words about them. We will be staying there again as our new home is under construction. Looking forward to home away from home.

We have stayed in many bed and breakfasts and Oak Hill on Love Lane ranks in the highest. The home and grounds are beautiful, elegant yet comfortable, and immaculate. The owners are quintessentially inviting and delightful hosts. They made all our dining reservations, arranged for massages on property and served exquisite appealing breakfasts and their "to go" muffins each day were fabulous. The home's location is perfectly located close to area attractions.

My husband and I wanted to head to the mountains in October for a little fall getaway and we found Oak Hill on Love Lane. You never know what you're going to get in person (but that's part of the fun!), but the house and the room and the innkeepers were just as lovely in person as they were online. The bed and breakfast is very close to downtown Waynesville and just a short drive to Asheville. Our room was gorgeous and the breakfast was delicious each morning and they even give you a little take away bag with muffins that you can enjoy later in the day. Highly recommend Oak Hill on Love Lane.

My wife and I just returned from a visit to Waynesville, NC, where we stayed at the historic Oak Hill on Love Lane B&B. The innkeepers, Shell and Deb Isenberg, provide their guests a wonderful experience! The rooms are beautiful and comfortable, and we greatly looked forward to the delicious breakast each morning. Shell and Deb are attentive to every detail....they are there when you need them, but they greatly respect your privacy and allow you to enjoy the inn and the area as you please. Staying at the Oak Hill on Love Lane greatly enhanced our enjoyment of Waynesville, as well as the Blue Ridge Parkway and Great Smoky Mountains National Park (both are located just minutes away). We plan to stay with Shell and Deb the next time we're in the Waynesville area. We have traveled quite a bit, but have never enjoyed our lodging more....kudos to the Isenbergs! James S., Tampa, FL

My friend from California visited me for a getaway girlfriend weekend. She had not much experience with bed and breakfasts, since most of her traveling history was with hotels and resorts. After staying at Oak Hill on Love Lane in Waynesville, NC and being the recipient of Shell and Deb's hospitality, she is now a convert. (I already was, after having stayed with my husband there a few weeks ago.) This is a remarkable inn...first class in every way. The house is lovely, tastefully furnished, yet extremely comfortable (like being at home). Shell and Deb's attention to the needs of their guests is unusual--always available to answer questions and offer recommendations for local activities, yet non-intrusive, allowing guests their privacy. And the breakfasts are.....how can I say?...simply delicious. When Shell and Deb learned that my friend needed to eat gluten free, they prepared a special breakfast just for her. She was delighted! After having stayed at Oak Hill on Love Lane on two separate occasions, I look forward to going back yet a third, and a fourth, and a...well, you get the picture. Bravo, Shell and Deb!

Deb and Shell are wonderful hostesses. They are kind and helpful. We have stayed in many B&B's but this one exceeds them all. The rooms are clean and beautifully decorated. The breakfast table is set very attractive and Deb bakes the most delicious muffins. Thank you Deb & Shell Kurt and Pauline

This was our 5th year staying at Oak Hill on Love Lane. Shell and Deb are the best inn keepers. Deb is a fantastic cook. All of the rooms a lovely. Sitting on the front porch in the late afternoon and evening are always very enjoyable. We have met lots of interesting people. We highly recommend Oak Hill. We plan on visiting sometime next year.
5 on August 24, 2015
Room was beautiful, roomy, and comfortable. Hosts were a lovely couple who have been in the hospitality business most of their lives and it shows in everything they do for you. They went over and above the expected level of a host. For example, we traveled by motorcycle so when we were dressed up to go to dinner, they drove us to the restaurant. Never had that happen before. The food was delicious and plentiful and beautifully presented. Can't say enough about this fine home, hosts and the community they live in.

Their middle names must be 'hospitality'! We stayed in the Bess-Ray Howell room which has a lovely, original claw foot tub and a gorgeous blue crystal chandelier. We had a wonderful time here, wish we had allotted more time to stay at this B&B. My wife and I have enjoyed many B&B's in different parts of the country and I must admit that this one is by far the best yet, it is all do to the wonderful treatment Deb and Shell lavish on their guests. The location is also very nice, peaceful little town with quite abit to offer in the way of shops and local dining. We have visited the area several times before staying in Ashville, but we wanted to get out into the countryside this time and we may a great choice. We are already getting our dates settled for a fall visit and looking forward to seeing Deb and Shell again. Thanks for everything ya'll did for us while we stayed in your home, ya'll were a big part of making our stay there so enjoyable

We had a totally scrumptious stay at Oak Hill on Love Lane. We stayed two nights at the end of our three week tour. Our hosts, Shell and Deb have the most beautiful home and we were made to feel so welcome and looked after. Everything from our room to the individual cooked breakfast was first class. The view from the veranda was stunning and made very special by Shell chilling our champagne and provided champagne flutes in order that we could celebrate my birthday in the most romantic of settings. If ever we find our selves back in North Carolina we shall be sure to return to Oak Hill.

We were in the area to open up our summer home for the season and celebrate our 20th Anniversary. We thought we would give ourselves a treat and stay ant Oak Hill. What a great decision that was and we had a great time in beautiful home with good conversation with other guests. Deb and Shell were great and we even got a surprise treat for our Anniversary. This is now going to become a tradition for us!
5 on April 17, 2015
Our stay at Oak Hill on Love Lane was a real treat as Deb & Shell go to every length to make the stay as luxurious and comfortable as possible. It is like staying at a (luxury) home from home and there is real attention to detail - like giving guests a goody bag of muffins when you leave for the day and the crisp ironed sheets. We particularly loved the log fire in our room and the breakfast was delicious and different from the norm. There was a gourmet breakfast burrito, fruit smoothie, amazing cornbread and other delights on the table when we stayed. It made our trip to America from the UK all the more special, and when we left our mobile phone charger behind by accident, Deb and Shell were extremely helpful in reuniting us with it within a few days. This venue is highly recommended and we would go back and stay in a heartbeat.

I'd highly recommend Oak Hill at Love Lane to anyone who is considering staying at a B&B in Waynesville. The service is fantastic, the house is brilliantly kept, and the food is good enough to right home about. They'll certainly take care of you here and make you feel right at home.

My husband and I spend a weekend at a B&B each year for our Anniversary. We visited Waynesville for the first time in 2014 and loved the town so we returned again this year. This was our first stay at Oak Hill on Love Lane, and we couldn't have been happier with it. The innkeepers were extremely helpful and kind and made us feel right at home. They were eager to help us make reservations for restaurants, get settled in our room, provide anything we might have forgotten (which I always do!), and provide courteous service with a smile. They also go above and beyond with special touches like a sweet Anniversary card and cheesecake in our room when we returned from dinner the first night. The butler's pantry was well-stocked with delicious foods and beverages, and the breakfast each morning was top-rate. We stayed in the Mary Margaret room which was beautifully decorated, clean and spacious. We felt pampered and at home the entire time during our stay and would highly recommend this B&B to our friends and family. Thank you, Deb and Shell, for a wonderful weekend. We hope to return again! We chose Oak Hill B&B as a special place to celebrate my husband Loyd's birthday. Shell and Deb made us feel welcome and pampered. Our room was beautiful and the bed very comfortable. Shell was helpful with restaurant suggestions for dinner and sharing information about Waynesville. They even left a nice card along with a surprise birthday dessert in our room! Breakfast was delicious and a real treat. Thank you so much, Deb and Shell! Ann & Loyd

This was our first "bed and breakfast" experience and our wedding anniversary weekend. The inn was quiet, comfortable, and stylish. Our hosts were hospitable, friendly, welcoming, and helpful on every front. Staying at OAK HILL on LOVE LANE contributed significantly to the memories created on our special occasion weekend.
5 on January 25, 2015
We thoroughly enjoyed our anniversary stay. Our expectations were exceeded in every way with the service, quality of rooms, and friendliness of the hosts. My husband and I will definitely visit again.

Our recent stay was so enjoyable! What a great place to bring in the New Year! This was our second stay at this beautiful B&B. Oak Hill on Love Lane offers a relaxing setting, beautiful décor and a great place to unwind, as well as a fun get away to explore the many convenient attractions. Our room was comfortable and elegant. The entire home is filled with style and charm and was beautifully decorated for the holidays. Guest gather at a shared breakfast in a wonderfully furnished Dining Room. The hosts, Shell and Deb prepare a variety of inspiring, breakfast dishes that are served with gracious style. Guest rooms are meticulously clean and there is so much attention to details! My husband and I feel fortunate on our happenstance in finding Oak Hill, and have enjoyed coming back. Oak Hill is truly a gem and the owners, Shell and Deb, our both a wonderful couple and excellent hosts! We look forward to going back!

We knew there was something special about Oak Hill when upon booking the reservation, we received a call from Shell to confirm and find out more about our requirements. The Inn is beautifully decorated, staying true to the era while incorporating modern conveniences. The breakfast was delicious and the extras like the take away muffin were a nice touch. The attention to detail and the personalized service separate this B&B from many others we have visited. We highly recommend it and appreciate the dedication of Shell and Deb to delivering a quality experience.

Every detail is thought of during your stay. There is a butler's pantry in the dining room. It has both sweet and savory snacks available. Also, there is a nice selection of cocoa and hot tea. They even keep a Keurig with coffee available at all times. Each day a new freshly made sweet snack is available here. A genuine effort is made to not repeat breakfasts and in fact they tend to have a sweet then savory rotation. The owners act as your concierge for the local area and will happily make phone calls to make reservations and the like. They are friendly and at the same time not intrusive in the least.

I am a bit hesitant to post my review as sometimes when one finds something extraordinary - one almost is reluctant to share it with the fear that it may not be available when needing it again in the future! But I will share with the hopes that there will always be room at the inn for my husband and me. Deb & Shell treated us like family the minute we arrived right up until the hugs when saying goodbye's. Breakfast was a time of celebration around the table with great conversation, 5 star breakfast, and even a little bag of goodies to take with us for the day! We had a wonderful relaxing weekend and will definitely be back for more!
5 on December 17, 2014
Inn owners Deb and Shell do everything possible to make your stay perfect. And the breakfasts are sublime.
5 on December 15, 2014
This was a beautiful bed and breakfast with wonderful owners that treat you like family. The food was delicious and the attention to detail was wonderful. I am looking at the calendar for 2015 to see when we can go back.

My wife and I stopped through on a whim to see the ginger bread house competition at the Grove Park Inn. It was short notice during Thanksgiving weekend, so the prices were off the chart at most other establishments. We gave the Oak Hill B&B a try and were so glad we did! Shell and Deb were the most delightful hosts and the food she prepared was prepared with love! It was delicious and quite satisfying! They work as a team and are very attentive and helpful. We are looking forward to our return in the spring!

Wonderful place in the beautiful NC mountains. Town dining and shopping a must. The proprietors are a prefect fit for this B & B. An annual tradition for us.
4.6 on November 21, 2014
Deb and Shell provide excellent service. Great location being outside of Asheville but still close enough to take advantage of the city. Would and probably will stay again.
5 on November 18, 2014
This is the second time I stayed at Oak Hill B&B and I will stay there again and again. The property is beautiful and the owners are amazing they make you feel so spoiled.
5 on November 14, 2014
We are frequent travelers. We prefer to stay at a B&B rather than a chain hotel. Oak Hill on Love Lane was one of the nicest B&Bs we have ever enjoyed. The rooms and common areas were spacious, with every amenity carefully provided. The Inn was beautifully decorated but kept its sense of history. The morning sunrise over the treetops was only surpassed by the creative gourmet breakfast awaiting us. The owners provided excellent service and attention to detail. With so much to see in the world, we often don't visit the same place twice; however, we will be back to Oak Hill! There was great dining and so much to see in the area...two nights were just not enough.
5 on November 10, 2014
Great B&B large comfortable room and excellent friendly service. Very tasty breakfasts. Everyone eats together at breakfast on one table so you can meet the other guests which we enjoyed. Great location with good views from the veranda. Comfortable guest sitting room as well and Wi-Fi in rooms at no extra cost. Perfect place to stay.

This Bed and Breakfast is close to the Blue Ridge Parkway It is set in a quiet residential neighbourhood. The hoos is maginificent. We had the Bobbu Breeze suite which is enormous. The big four poster bed and the excellent furniture make for a perfect setting. The breakfast in the morning is very special. A small diner in it self.. All in all a superb B and B

We loved everything about our stay at Oak Hill. My husband and I are very laid back and casual so this was quite a step up from our usual. Even so, we felt as if we fit right in. Deb and Shell were both very gracious and helpful, even going so far as to give me a recipe that I really enjoyed. Be sure that you will be very well taken care of and comfortable here. These two really know the meaning of customer service, we will definitely be back!

We had a great first floor suite in this beautiful B&B. Everything about the place was first rate, and I would have rated the rooms outstanding but for some reason I am unable to check that box on this rating website. A couple of observations: first, the breakfasts tended to be exceedingly sweet, and we prefer a mix of savory and sweet - which is the usual makeup of breakfasts at other B&B's Second, while I hesitate to fault someone for being too service conscious, we found the innkeeper Shell to be very intense and overzealous in his desire to please. He needs to relax- people stay in B&B's partly because of the adventure, and do not need someone looking out for their happiness so assiduously.

Shell and Deb were terrific hosts, accommodating our change of plans, and assisting us with local attractions and reservations. Oak Hill was a great experience, and we can't wait to go back again!

Our room was excellent with its attached suite and everything you could need was provided. Our hosts Shell and Deb were fabulous and so generous in their knowledge and organisation and making sure all was well in what you doing and suggesting restaurants and destinations. Deb's breakfasts were wonderful and they made every aspect of our stay was catered for

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at this bed and breakfast. The rooms were very tidy and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and was served as if you were in a restaurant. Deb and Shell were accommodating, even making us a separate breakfast when we had to leave very early one morning! There was a lot of attention to detail. We couldn't have asked for a better bed and breakfast!
5 on October 08, 2014
We recently stayed two nights at Oak Hill. Before the moment we arrived, everything and I do mean everything was outstanding. A couple of weeks prior to our arrival, Shell phoned me to confirm the reservation and to inquire about any food allergies or special requests. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by Deb and Shell who explained the layout of Oak Hill and all its amenities; Shell even helped carry our luggage to the room. The room itself was nicely appointed with top-notch extras such as locally made soaps and lotions, twice daily room refresh, and turn-down service. After encountering an initial wi-fi problem, I advised Shell who immediately fixed the issue and followed up to make sure all had been correctly handled. He was quite proficient in advising us about the area, including restaurants and hiking areas. Gourmet breakfasts both mornings were like something you’d see on Food Network and unlike most establishments, were not so much that we felt stuffed afterwards. Another nice touch was the muffins that Deb supplied each morning in a to-go bag for later consumption. The town of Waynesville is small but quaint with nice shops and restaurants and is near to hiking, waterfalls and the Blue Ridge Parkway. We’ve stayed at several B&Bs, but Oak Hill is at the top of the list.

My husband and I stayed at Oak Hill for a birthday weekend getaway. We were blown away as soon as we pulled into the drive. Deb and Shell were amazing! They were so hospitable and willing to help with everything. Since the weekend was a surprise for my husband and we live several hours away, Shell made dinner reservations for us long before our stay. We just showed up and went to dinner without a second thought! It was so stress free! Breakfast and the afternoon treats were amazing. Deb's cooking is superb!! We happened to mention to Deb we enjoy pumpkin anything, and she made outstanding pumpkin pancakes for breakfast during our stay! Our room was spacious, comfortable, and very clean. We also loved the local artwork displayed in throughout the house. We cannot wait to go back and stay again!!

This was a three night honeymoon stay, and it was fantastic! The Isenbergs were wonderful hosts, and they prepared food that was consistently gourmet quality. Also, they always had excellent recommendations for activities of interest in any direction we choose! Further, the accommodations were top-tier. The fact that they have a regular clientele of business persons staying with them repeatedly also speaks volumes. We look forward to the next visit!

We throughly enjoyed our stay at Oak Hill. The bed and breakfast is five star quality all around. The furnishings are beautiful and the rooms are very comfortable. Shell and Deb were very friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to make our visit to the area special. They even let us drop our luggage early while we went on a backpacking trip in the Great Smokey Mountains. We can't wait to return.

My husband and I enjoy staying in B & Bs, and we have tried many B & Bs in different states. This is the first B & B that we have stayed in that was perfect in every detail. Shell and Deb make you feel so welcome. We enjoyed it so much that our granddaughter, who will be thirteen this year, is receiving a two night stay from us for her birthday present. She and her mother can't wait to go and experience this wonderful place. It is within walking distance to cozy downtown Waynesville. This town is surrounded by mountains and has interesting shops and many good restaurants. When we arrived back at Oak Hill in the evening, after eating dinner with friends, we enjoyed the large front porch. Shell lit the candles for us out there, and we relaxed in the rocking chairs looking at the stars. Thank you, Shell and Deb, for your southern hospitality.

My week-long stay at Oak Hill on Love Lane exceeded my expectations. It's a beautiful place, comfortable and well kept. The hospitality is genuine and welcoming. Deb and Shell love what they do and it shows. Their breakfasts are delicious. They were happy to help me choose where to eat lunch and dinner - I was delighted by the quality and innovativeness of the local restaurants. There's a lot to do in the area and they can give you great info and recommendations to suit your tastes. Friends of mine have stayed there and enjoyed their experience as well!

Love Oak Hill on Love Lane. Gracious hospitality, truly relaxed atmosphere, served up with outstanding meals and a great selection of coffee and snacks by Deb and Shell. If you want to visit the Ashville area, think Waynesville instead and stay at Oak Hill.

Oak Hill on Love Lane Bed and Breakfast We had a lovely stay with Deb and Shell on 7/23/2014. We are going back with our grandchildren for The Polar Express. What we liked: 1. Deb and Shell as innkeepers- we felt like guests, not customers 2. Oak Hill – Historic Register house completely restored and updated 3. Functionality of house – two common rooms, dining room, wraparound porch with 5 separate sitting areas and a gazebo. 4. Interior decoration of house 5. Cleanliness and comfort of house 6. Our room – large, well decorated, great bedding, bathroom 7. Setting – magnificent oak trees and plantings Our best memory: 1. Sitting on the porch during a rainstorm, hearing the rain on the leaves, smelling the rain and relaxing. Our opinion: 1. Best overall B&B experience we have ever had.

We had a wonderful stay at Oak Hill on Love Lane. As soon as we arrived, we were welcomed by our hosts, Deb and Shell, into their lovely home. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. Every question we had about the area was answered and suggestions were given with maps and directions. Deb is a wonderful cook so we enjoyed two mornings of delicious breakfasts. Oak Hill is a real find in a beautiful part of the country. We definitely plan on another visit.

Delightful bed and breakfast in charming Waynesville. We hope we return.
5 on June 18, 2014
We spent the night with Shell and Deb in their lovely home. They are the perfect hosts. Our every wish was met immediately and with a smile. In addition to being on the National Historic Register, their house is comfortable and relaxing. The spacious front porch provides a woodsy retreat, overlooking a beautifully manicured lawn, majestic oaks, and a charming gazebo. We stayed upstairs in the Ella Davis room. It had a huge bay window which provides lots of light, and a comfortable sitting area. At night, the beds were turned down, water was provided, and a chocolate appeared on our pillow. The sheets were crisply ironed, unbelievably soft, and had the scent of fresh lavender. Also impressive were the thoughtful little touches--freshed baked cookies and a small fridge of water and soft drinks for our use. Books, magazines and DVDs were provided, but we just enjoyed quietly unwinding. It was the perfect retreat. I would highly reccommend it. Thank you Shell and Deb! Your efforts are greatly appreciated!

5 stars does not adequately describe this venue. The owners bend over backwards to make sure that your stay is perfect. We stayed two nights, were overwhelmed with the quality of the food, and would go back in a flash.
5 on June 05, 2014
We chose early-Spring for our 13th visit to Oak Hill. We certainly couldn't have picked a better week. The weather was perfect. Cool mornings and sunny, comfortable days. Sitting on the front porch gives you the opportunity to watch spring arrive in the mountains. Deb and Shell and their wonderful home, Oak Hill, continue to live up to the high expectations that we have been afforded over the past years. The house itself remains in tip/top shape and is the perfect place to recharge your batteries. It is such a pleasure to be the beneficiaries of the care and attention to detail that is evident in everything Deb and Shell do. They remain the consummate hosts and innkeepers.

This inn has become the standard to which we rate all others. Located just outside Asheville and on the outskirts (walking distance) to charming Frog's Leap we always feel rejuvenated and pampered after a stay at Oak Hill. Hands-down the best hospitality in North Carolina.
4.8 on April 09, 2014
Oak Hill on Love Lane is a gem. My husband is not always sure about staying at B&B's but he loved this one. It was super clean, quaint, and the hospitality was wonderful. We felt welcomed when we arrived and that carried right through the stay. The butler's pantry has coffee, tea, sodas, water, snacks, delicious cookies - 24/7. You will feel pampered each morning sitting in the handsome dining room eating a scrumptious breakfast that Debbie has prepared. Shell will make sure you have all the information you need to find a great restaurant for dinner or a picturesque waterfall. Turn down service with bedside bottled water and chocolates on the pillow was sweet and unexpected. Extras: Ipod dock in bedroom, goat's milk lotion, luxurious linens, and so much more. Don't hesitate making your reservation for this B&B- you won't be disappointed.

Oak Hill on Love Lane was a wonderful stay for me and my girlfriend. Deb and Shell provided a lovely and comfortable environment to have a weekend getaway. They provided us with directions and any information at all to anywhere we wanted to go. They also gave us our own space but engaged us in conversation when appropriate. The food was simply amazing and I felt like I was at a home away from home.

Deb and Shel make you feel at home. Such a beautiful room and wonderful breakfast!
5 on November 12, 2013
First let me start off by we (myself and wife) have stayed at a lot of places but NEVER have we ever been greeted and treated with such great hospitality as we were during our stay at Oak Hill. While staying at Oak Hill both Shell and Deb make you feel as though you are their only priority. The home is beautifully restored, keeping a lot of the original historic feel, without compromising with modern day amenities. The home was also EXTREMLY clean and comfortable. Breakfast was amazing, and tasted great! Everything was very fresh, and more than we could possibly eat! Everything from; Insisting happily to make any reservations, take your bags, light candles as you and your significant other want to enjoy some time on the beautiful porch while drinking a glass of wine or hot coco and bringing any blankets or other items to ensure your comfort. They ensured everything was perfectly taken care of without making you feel that they were ever there. This truly is an art that they have managed to master beautifully. Our only issue with the entire stay was the fact that we ever had to leave. My regret, my wife keeps asking, when can we go back? A small price to pay for such a great time! Thank you Shell and Deb for a wonderful visit, and the wonderful hospitality. Look forward to our next visit! --N & A

Shell andDeb go out of their way to meet your every need. Always a pleasure.

This is a fabulous bed and breakfast in Waynesville. The room was perfect and the service is amazing. The owners Shell and Deb made sure we had a perfect stay. There was tea and coffee offered anytime of day, and the breakfast was so delicious. We are very picky about where we stay and this place met our every need. Everything was perfectly clean and the bed was so comfortable in the Bobby Breese Room. We found Waynesville to be a quaint town with lots of great restaurants. The owners offered to help with reservations and one night when we were running a little late, Shell called ahead and he let them know we were on our way. This kind of service is not found just anywhere. We can't wait to go back. Marshall and Tracie

I went to Oak Hill for a half-week get away. The house is beautiful, clean and comfortable! The owners' eye to detail is spot-on. They are kind, helpful, and ready to do what they can to make your stay relaxing and enjoyable. The food is excellent and beautifully presented (this coming from someone who edits cookbooks). I know where I will be going the next time I need a relaxing get away!

We are fellow B&B owners so the bar must be fairly high to meet our expectations. So, this review will be quite simple. Our bar was exceeded. From the moment we stepped foot on the property, We were taken care of and given all the info we could ask for. The amenities were above average as well as the cleanliness. Make sure to leave time in your trip to just sit on the front porch. Thank you Shell and Deb for an enjoyable relaxing couple of days. We will be back!

My wife and I spent the July 4th weekend (July 3-7) at the Oak Hill B&B on Love Lane to celebrate our 26th wedding anniversary. Just a terrific experience. Shel and Deb are an awesome team that make you feel at home while you vacation. Shel is so eager and willing to help with any plans you have to explore the Western NC area. He also made some terrific restaurant recommendations for dinner that made each evening even more enjoyable. Deb is a real gem...she makes the most creative breakfasts you will find anywhere. We would never have ordered what they served, and yet found everything they made so interesting and delicious. Oh yeah, her chocolate muffins that she sent for a midday snack...OMG...wow were those good. By the way, it rained a lot during our stay but we had a great time anyway. Had a great place to come back to even if the weather "dampened" plans. Enthusiastic thumbs up for this B&B. Scott & Beth Reddig

I stayed here for business but this place was so charming that I will come back for vacation. My room was beautiful, clean and quite. Breakfast was sooooo good. The owners went above and beyond and were so nice.

My first time to stay in a Bed and Breakfast, and it couldn't have been a better experience. Outstanding attention to detail, comfort of guests and providing a wonderful, friendly atmosphere.

Couldn't have found a better place to spend Father's Day. This is the thirteenth year my wonderful wife has scheduled a golf and relaxation getaway for us on Father's day. Everything about the trip was a pleasure thanks to the all out effort of Deb and Shell at the Oak Hill on Love Lane. They will provide you with a wonderful experience that you shouldn't miss.

My wife and I decided to get out of Charlotte for the weekend to cap off our celebration of our 24th wedding anniversary. I found out about Oak Hill just from the on-line Trip Adviser site. From our arrival Friday afternoon to our departure both Deb and Shell provided exquisite service in every area to make our stay comfortable! They have a unique gift of working together to bring you a relaxing atmosphere, fine dining and a true knowledge of every possible thing you would like to experience in the area. Deb and Shell you have truly set the bar a lot higher when you compare Oak Hill with establishments in the area!! We'll be back. David Hutchings

Oak Hill was probably the best B&B I have ever stayed in. Deb and Shell are warm and welcoming, amenities are excellent and Deb is a fabulous cook. The delicious muffins to go every morning were my favourite along with the fresh fruit juice - to say nothing of the warm chocolate chip cookies for a mid day or late night snack!. Marlene

We planned a trip to Asheville and we decided for the first time to stay at a Bed and Breakfast. We ended up choosing Oak Hill on Love Lane Bed and Breakfast. Our stay was absolutely wonderful! For us it was very special to sit down in the morning for a delicious breakfast at a very well set table. It was a wonder change of pace from our normal cup of coffee and cereal before running out the door to get the kids to school. But what really made our stay that this antique Victorian setting was the attention to details from the hosts, Dave and Shell. Anything you can possibly think of to ask, they can answer or more than willing to find the answer. We are looking forward to our next visit to Asheville and the mountains. We already know that we plan to return to Oak Hill.

Wow, what a weekend! Our son graduated with a Master's from WCU and proposed to his girlfriend all on the same night! Oak Hill provided the perfect place to land after a very eventful day. Deb and Shell were the best! They were attentive to our every need and made the weekend so special for all of us. We were able to gather on the porch that evening with our son, his fiancee and her family for a glass of wine and snacks. Deb and Shell had everything set up for us when we arrived that evening. Breakfast was outstanding as well as the muffins they bag for you for your trip home! We could not have picked a better place for this special occasion. We will be recommending Oak Hill to all of our family and friends and hope to return soon ourselves!

We only stayed one night but the B&B was excellent from beginning to end. We will definitely come back again. Shell and Barb were very gracious hosts who worked very hard to please the guests.
5 on April 24, 2013
We stayed at the Oak Hill for three nights. The 3 course breakfasts were amazing!!! Deb is great about working around food allergies - which a lot of B&B owners are not. The house and grounds are lovely. Shell and Deb are great about giving directions and recommendations for things in the area and surrounding areas as well. They called ahead to the restaurants we wanted to eat at and made sure there was a table waiting for us. They are very warm and inviting but also respectful of personal space and privacy. We will definitely go back there again.

Where do I begin?...My wife and I were looking for something different to do for our 2nd anniversary, but weren't sure about what. I randomly suggested something in the mountains of NC and maybe doing a B&B, which we had never done before. My wife was the one who found Oak Hill and saw it's stellar reviews, this being extremely influential in our decision to make our arrangements here. It turned out to be one of the best choices we have made as man and wife so far. Immediately upon arrival, it felt like we had come to the warmest, safest, and coziest home there is in America. It felt like Christmas in March. We walked in and took a tour of all the most beautiful and picturesque rooms the home had to offer. We stayed in the Bess Ray-Howell room and were in awe. I wanted to stay forever. Deb and Shell were so very sweet and wonderful. They knew everything about everything; I felt like I could ask how to get to the moon. Now, our anniversary falls right in between the offseason and when it begins, so we were limited on what we could fill our day with. However, they made it seem like we had arrived at the perfect time and could have done just about anything. And the food was scrumptious and delicious. They, also, made extra specific accommodations for my wife because of her special diet needs. I, nor my wife, would have changed a thing and could not have wished for a better experience. Thank you Oak Hill, Deb and Shell, for such a great and wonderful time and for making our anniversary impeccable. We will most definitely be going back.

We recently spent 3 nights in the Clyde Ray Suite at this B&B and had a fantastic experience! Deb & Shell were wonderful! We felt they were friends instead of just the proprietors. The house is beautiful, the rooms immaculate and we can't say enough about the breakfasts. They were not only delicious but beautiful in their presentation! At the end of breakfast you will leave with one of Deb's "little white bags," with a special treat for later. Attention to detail was in evidence during our entire stay. We highly recommend that everyone experience Oak Hill on Love Lane, as well as, the charming town of Waynesville, NC. Our many thanks to Deb and Shell for their wonderful hospitality!

We truly enjoyed our stay as always! It is impeccable!

My wife and I literally had zero complaints on our stay. We explained that though we are only a half hour away, we were looking for a quite night to have a mini-get away. We were treated to exceptional hospitality, a wonderful bed, and then the breakfast was out of this world. The owners were very kind. They showed hospitality without being overbearing and provided us with plenty of suggestions as to where to eat and what to do for fun. We will return to this B and B. We recommend it without any hesitation.

Our stay at Oak Hill on Love Lane was a wonderful experience. Deb and Shell are WONDERFUL cooks and the hospitality was above and beyond our expectations. The house is warm and inviting and they know so much interesting history for the house that it made it that much more interesting. Everything was clean and very well maintained. It was so nice to "make ourselves at home" with the coffee and homemade goodies provided each day. It was also a special treat to be sent on your way for the day after breakfast with a homemade "snack" to go ! I would definitely stay at this B&B again and I would recommend it to friends and strangers alike !

From the minute you walk in the door to the time you sadly say good-bye it was a wonderful experience. The breakfast was wonderful and even custom made for my husband and I, which was a special touch for us. I can see us going back in the near future. It made for a very romantic Valentine weekend for us.

Deb and Shell were outstanding hosts. The house and rooms are spacious and very comfortable with all appointed handsomely. House sits on a hill with views into downtown Waynesville with mountain views in the distance. While Downtown Waynesville looks charming we were extremey disappointed in the shops' merchandise selection.

My husband and I stayed at Oak Hill several years ago when the doors first opened! It was such an amazing and memorable experience, that 4 1/2 years, 2 kids, and many sleepless nights later we were thrilled to be able to go back! What a TREAT!!! The food is amazing! The rooms are beautiful and tranquil! Best of all, the service is top-notch! This is one place you don't want to miss. One night with Deb and Shell and you will never want to go back to a regular hotel again!!
5 on January 20, 2013
Deb and Shell are fantastic hosts, and their service is out of this world. This was our first stay at a bed and breakfast and it makes us not want to stay at a hotel again! We were greeted by Shell who showed us around this beautiful house. All rooms are very spacious with their own private bathrooms. The beds are amazing, all tempur-pedic with high thread count sheets...we couldn't have asked for a better nights sleep! Deb is a FANTASTIC cook. The multi-course breakfast was the best we have ever had. Deb also prepares snacks for throughout the day that are so delicious! Oak Hill is within minutes to downtown Waynesville and it is easily accessible to Asheville. There are also a ton of hiking trails nearby. Definitely recommend this to anyone who is looking for top notch service and a unique experience. We will definitely be back!

We've stayed at Oak Hill a few times (multiple nights each stay) and have always had wonderful experiences. We are NOT bed and breakfast people but this place is our exception! The owners are friendly and thoughtful folks with ridiculous attention to detail. They've thought of everything! The beds are the most comfortable I've ever slept in and the breakfasts are always delish!!! They send you on your day with goodie/snack bags and when you come home for the night, there are fresh baked homemade cookies waiting for you. The owners have always given spot on recommendations on local food and activities. They go above and beyond to accommodate and serve...treat you like family! Super relaxing, comfortable, and clean! We absolutely recommend this amazing b&b!!!

Me and my husband love staying at bed and breakfasts and Oak Hill has by far been the best! Deb and Shell had special touches that went a long way and the breakfast was outstanding! This is most definitely a bed and breakfast we will be re-visiting! It made our vacation!

Bonnie (my wife) and I have been staying at B&Bs since 1978, both in many of the states and across Europe. We chose Oak hill because of the location and their web site - we'll return because of the Isenbergs. Shell & Debi are without a doubt the best hosts we've ever encountered and the B&B they present is outstanding in every way. Our 4 day stay was superb! The room was immaculate and Shell did a turn-down service every evening, complete with chocolate on each pillow. Debi's breakfasts were culinary delights and they catered in an exceptional way to my vegetarian diet. And the 3rd course muffin snacks to take with you duiring the day put the breakfast over the top. We highly recommend Oak Hill Ron & Bonnie Howell Fairborn, OH

You should plan to spend several days at warm and friendly Oak Hill on Love Lane. It's just a short drive to the Smoky Mts. and the Blue Ridge Parkway with many places to visit. We loved the short walk to downtown quaint Waynesville for dinner or to shop. You'll want to relax in your lovely room or sitting rooms and on the porch sipping coffee and munching fresh baked cookies. Make friends with Deb and Shell as we did. We just returned from our 2nd visit and plan to return again.

My husband and I just spent 6 days at Oak Hill on Love Lane and it was truly perfect. Deb & Shell are gracious hosts, the house itself was perfect and better than the pictures depict. From the comfortable rooms to the front porch with a view of the mountains, this B& B has it all. The fabulous breakfasts were terrific with a different menu every day, Deb is an excellent cook and Shell is extremely accommodating. Wonderful Bed and Breakfast! The rooms are spacious and beautiful, the beds are a dream to sleep on. This was our second three night stay at Oak Hill on Love Lane. It is as nice as I remembered it being a couple of years ago. The owners are accommodating and thoughtful. I have dietary issues and they were able to meet my needs as well as treating my husband to wonderful breakfasts each morning. I would highly recommend Oak Hill to anyone wanting to have a relaxing and restful stay in beautiful Maggie Valley.

Our time with Deb and Shell at Oak Hill was above and beyond our expectations of a bed and breakfast specializing in quality service. Deb and Shell are rare jems and did everything possible to fine tune our stay with them. The essence of service! The inn is breathtaking, cozy and grand at the same time. Exquisite view of mountains from the front porch. Every room is a winner and truly designed for a restful stay down to the tiny details only a close friend would think of. The breakfasts each morning were absolutely delicious, creative and satisfying. The "third course" a fun and thoughtful touch. Waynesville and the outlying towns are quaint and packed with opportunities; you won't find better guides than Deb and Shell, from restaurants to shops to nature. We will definitely return time and time again!! Can't say enough about this couple and their establishment. We consider them friends for life. J & R June 2012

Impeccably decorated, superbly hosted, Oak Hill provided us with an ideal nest to investigate retirement roosts in the Carolina mountains. Outstanding creative breakfasts (break-feasts!)provided us with a satisfying start to our daily explorations. Care packages of snack muffins sustained us through the morning hours. This is a not to be missed B&B!
5 on June 18, 2012
We have lived and traveled in Europe for many years and have stayed in many, many B&Bs. This is one of the top that we have ever visited. The hosts were unfailingly gracious, helpful, and eager to make sure our stay in the area was easy and pleasurable. The breakfasts were imaginative and delicious, and they made accommodations for medical issues in such a way that we never felt we were causing an inconvenience. We never needed a map anywhere; we were provided with detailed instructions for hiking, sightseeing, etc. The house is beautifully restored; rooms are immaculate and the grounds are lovely. Truly outstanding and we will definitely be visiting again.

My husband and I found Oak Hill B&B by chance a few years ago when we were planning a vacation to western North Carolina. We have stayed at many B&Bs over the years and have to say that this one is our favorite! Words truly cannot express the excellent rooms, the delicious breakfasts and treats, the beautiful scenery, and the numerous activities available within the surrounding areas. Most of all, it is the owners, Deb and Shell, that make every trip back outstanding. From their attention to every detail of service, their accommodation of my personal needs (I require a gluten-free diet), and their willingness to go above and beyond in assisting you in any aspect of your daily itinerary, they provide all of their guests an amazing experience. A stay at Oak Hill B&B will offer you a wonderful visit and exceed all of your expectations!

We had the good fortune of staying at Oak Hill on Love Lane the weekend before Christmas 2011. From before our arrival to the days following our departure we felt like we had re-discovered some "old friends" in the inn keepers, Shell and Deb. The Inn itself was the most comfortable, cozy, charming B&B we have ever experienced. The food was fabulous and great care was taken to accomodate our specific preferences. We WILL be back!

Well run B&B with great inn keepers Deb & Shel. Very accomodating on providing information about the area. Luscious unique breakfasts and all of the fine amenities that give it this top rating. amenities such as comfortable beds, top of the line linens, turn down service, well sticked refreshment bar.

My husband and I stayed at Oak Hill for a one night getaway. The only thing disappointing was it was only for one night. Shell and Deb were the perfect host and hostess-very friendly, knowledgable about the area, and fantastic! The house is decorated to perfection but very comfortable. Our breakfast was splendid. We can't say enough about how perfect our stay was. We are already thinking about when we can visit again.

This B&B was the most pleasant one I have ever stayed at. It is a beautiful historic house with a view of the mountains, and it is conveniently located in Waynesville, so that you can enjoy a trip to the Asheville area without having to stay in the busy town itself. The hosts were very friendly and helpful, and make you feel right at home. My wife and I will definitely be staying here again.

Beautiful period house, full of period furniture. All of the facilities are new and blend in with the old style of the house. The shared breakfast table was new to us, but is an excellent idea and after a few minutes, guests began to share experiences and enjoy each others company. The B&B is only a few minutes walk from the beautiful Main street of Waynsville, allowing us to walk into town enjoy an evening meal and have a drink safely without driving. Would definitely stay at the B&B again if in the area.

We had such an amazing stay at Oak Hill this past weekend. Deb and Shell were wonderful hosts who provided us with such a perfect first bed & breakfast experience. From assisting with dinner reservations, to the sweet anniversary surprise we found when we returned in the evening, and the delicious breakfast on Sunday morning, we were truly spoiled for our anniversary weekend getaway. We stayed in the Clyde Ray Sr. Suite and were astounded by its comfort and amenities. We look forward to returning to Oak Hill as soon as we can! Thanks for a great weekend. -Tyler & Eric

We spent 4th of July weekend with Oak Hill innkeepers Deb and Shel and had a fantastic time. While my husband and I have stayed at Oak Hill before (Margaret Mary Room…great and romantic) this time we brought our teenage kids for their first B&B experience. Our 14 year old son didn't want to leave and our 12 year old daughter milked every luxury. We ziplined at Navitat, white water rafted at Nantahala Outdoor Center, and ate amazing food at Sweet Onion and Tipping Point. All the while, Deb and Shel catered to our every scheduling need. Their service at Oak Hill is bar none and the house is luxuriously, beautifully, and practically appointed…even for kids of all ages. They accommodated our boarding needs and we took over the Clyde Ray and adjoining Bess Ray suites on the ground floor. It could not have been a more perfect arrangement - privacy for everyone, 2 bathrooms with fun tubs, plenty of space, a common area for our stuff, across the hall from the butler pantry, and 1st floor so we didn't have to worry about them trampling over anyone's head - all for a VERY reasonable rate. And I haven't even mentioned Deb's cooking!!! I am writing this review as I am enjoying Amish Baked Oatmeal I made from Deb's recipe Deb. Every breakfast we've ever had there has been outstanding, huge and delicious. We couldn't even pick a favorite. Needless to say, we all want to go back as often as we can to enjoy the hospitality and accommodations, wonderful downtown Waynesville, and all the family activities we can stand….snow skiing is next!

We stayed here on Friday night before our race the next morning. Deb and Shell are always so welcoming and accomodating. We asked if we could have an early breakfast before the race. They graciously agreed and served us a beautiful breakfast of oatmeal, honey, nuts and fresh fruit with coffee and water...oh yeah...that was at 5am! We returned from the race, took our showers and came down to breakfast #2....even more wonderful than breakfast #1. We stayed upstairs in the Margaret Mary Room. What a beautiful and comfortable room. The beds are the most comfortable of any hotel I've ever stayed. I could have stayed several more days! If you are looking for a beautiful, comfortable place with delicious food and the kindest of hosts, then Oak Hill on Love Lane is the place to come.

My husband and I have traveled many places and make it our habit to research and stay and bed and breakfasts and/or small inns. Oak Hill is a beautiful home, decorated in the style of the day but offering all the comfortable ammenties as well. The personal style offered by Deb and Shell, down to lighting citronella candles to ward of bugs so we could enjoy the evening on the beautiful veranda, was gracious without being overbearing. They provided excellent choices for restaurants and shopping and will also take you to town and pick you up should you not want to walk (although certainly within walking distance) or bother with parking downtown. Should we ever be in Waynesville or nearby we would most definitely stay with them again. Debby and Wayne Griffin, Louisville, KY.

Deb and Shell are innkeepers extraordinaire!! Every detail is attended to cheerfully and with precision! We felt that we were honored guests in their home! Breakfast and snacks are DELICIOUS!!! The accomodations are spotlessly clean! The house, grounds and the rooms are beautifully restored to their original elegance, and yet they contain our modern conveniences! I've been to Oak Hill 3 times, and HIGHLY recommend it, as a truly outstanding B&B! Bonnie

We were greeted with fresh baked cookes and belhop service by the owners. The room was very spacious and so many touches made it special. They even sprayed lavender on our very comfortable bed at night and gave us delicious chocolate (also had treats available throughout the house) on our pillows. The room was very quiet, we didn't hear any of the other guests. Perfect location, a quick walk to downtown. The breakfast was amazing. Started with a sweet fruit dish, followed by a delicious egg bake, and then a muffin for the road. Always had treats (both sweet or salty choices) available and a fresh baked item. They were also very knowledgeable and helpful about what to see and do around the area. Absolutely perfect stay!

I would definitely stay here again. Deb and Shell provided a welcoming yet private environment where one can relax and reflect. The breakfasts were delicious, nutritious and considerate of individual guests' needs and preferences. My husband and I particularly appreciated the "third course", which was a home made muffin or brownie or apple (if one preferred), in a to- go bag. We relied on this snack daily in the afternoon, while we traversed the NC hills. Deb and Shell offered assistance with our trip's needs before and during our visit. Overall, both of them were efficient, gracious, and responsive, with a great attention to detail.

My sister and I live on opposite sides of the country and have an annual sisters only getaway. This year we stayed at Oak Hill on Love Lane and visited Waynesville and Cherokee. Oak Hill was outstanding. Our room was spotless and beautifully decorated. The Innkeepers, Deb and Shell made us feel special and right at home. Shell even drove us two nights in a row to our dinner destination! The three course breakfasts were absolutely delicious, as were the homemade brownies, macaroons and cinnamon crumb muffins that Deb baked and packed in to-go bags for us each day. This was bar-none the nicest B&B we two sisters have ever stayed in and made for the best sisters getaway ever! We will definitely be back, next time with our husbands.

Food was outstanding and not at all your average food or options. Short walking distance to Waynesville downtown for great restaurants and shopping. Shell and Deb make a great team and are wonderful hosts, with lots of information about the local area and attractions. the rooms are as wonderful as they look on the website. Well done and thank you for a great weekend.

I have stayed at a lot of B&B's. This is BY FAR the best one I've ever stayed at. Everything was perfect. The house is beautiful, it is decorated superbly (no "fru-fru" like is frequently found at B&B's) There is gorgeous artwork on the walls by local artists, the bed was the most comfortable bed we've ever slept in. The sheets and towels were super soft, breakfast was delicious and hearty, the evening dessert was amazing, there is a small fridge and "snack cupboard" open for guests all the time, the location is excellent, very close walk to town. The innkeepers were so friendly and helpful. Also very accomodating - it was no problem to have breakfast ready an hour earlier than normal so we could get a head start on our 13 hour drive home. I cannot say enough good things about this place. Stay there, you will not regret it!!! I wish we could have stayed for a week instead of just one night. If we lived closer we'd take a weekend trip to Waynesville just to stay at this place. Unfortunately we live 800 miles away so that probably won't happen. I am amazed at how great this place is!!!

We made the reservation after seeing the pictures on the website, and we were not disappointed: we had a wonderful time at the Oak Hill on Love Lane! The house and the garden are lovely. Our room was decorated with taste, very clean and the bed was so comfortable, we slept like babies. We stayed only one night, and nevertheless were welcomed so warmly. Deb & Shell are great hosts! In the morning, we shared a very nice breakfast with the other guests, and even got a small bag with two muffins for the way back home! We absolutely recommend this B&B!

I made reservations at Oak Hill on Love Lane for the end of my husband and I's road trip. I wasn't sure what to expect because I've never really thought of myself as a B&B person (we are both in our early 30s and introverted types). But let me just say that Deb and Shel are amazing innkeepers!! I'm a clean freak, and even I could feel comfortable in my spotless room--Deb cleaned it twice a day. There was also the three-course breakfasts (AMAZING!!), freshly baked sweets in the afternoon, lavender sprayed on our pillows during the nightly bed turn-down (chocolates and ice water left on our bed stand), and superior concierge service as Deb and Shel continually went above and beyond our expectations. Shel even loaned us an ice chest so we could have lunch on our hike! Don't look any further. STAY HERE.

What a fabulous stay we had! Shell and Deb made us feel like family, and their dedication to their guests is the best I have ever encountered at any hotel or bed and breakfast! A delightful few days with great friends and family! Can't wait to return in the fall! Mark and Charlotte Harrison

We were fortunately referred to Oak Hill by good friends in Waynesville, NC. We were on a road trip and staying in a number of generic roadside hotels so staying at Oak Hill was a real treat. Deb and Shell, the Oak Hill owners, are long time hospitality people. They brought experience, knowledge, attention to detail and their warm personalities to make our Oak Hill experience very satisfying.

Just returned from a 2nd visit at this beautiful home. I just love this place! Just when I thought the service, food, conversation, peace, quiet, comfort...(as you can see I could go on and on), couldn't possibly get any better, it did. How can you improve on perfection? I'm not sure but Deb and Shell definitely get it right. Having stayed a number of B&Bs I would suggest all owners visit this place to really learn how to treat their guests. You must visit if you want to be treated like a king and queen, yet with personal and casual elegance. Thanks Deb and Shell. See you again soon. Ken and Annette

Shell and Deb - the owners and hosts - were kind, welcoming, accomodating...and just plain hospitable! The home was beautiful and spotless - the breakfast was delicious....and the daily treat/refreshments were an extra special touch for this on-the-go family! We loved our stay and hope to have an excuse to go back to Waynesville and stay with them again!!

I couldn't imagine a better place to spend some time for rest and relaxation. I received an outstanding room, information, food, and anything/everything I could have ever wanted. Best Stay ever!

I found Oak Hill while browsing for a place to take my wife for her birthday, and the discovery of Oak Hill was amazing. The food, service, hospitality, and accommodations far exceeded anything I could have expected. My wife and I are both in our late 60's and have traveled all over the US, and in England and France. I've never found another place like this. I highly recommend it to you. My wife and I look forward to staying there again. CW & SW

My wife and I spent two days/nights at this historic, beautiful home. We found Deb and Shell to be gracious hosts. They were helpful in every sense of the word. The breakfast was great! We had to leave early on our day of departure. We were sent off with a bags of goodies for breakfast. Thank you so much, Isenbergs for a very nice experience.

We used a bed and breakfast.com gift certificate that our friends gave us for our wedding and wow was it worth it. This B&B was the perfect getaway for us. The owners were very friendly and accommodating, and the rooms were beautiful. We were not only amazed by the quality and comfort of the room, but also the fact that it was such a deal price wise for what we were getting. In the morning, the owners cooked us a delicious 3 course breakfast. They also gave us plenty of recommendations for things to do in town, and made reservations for us at a regularly booked solid restaurant. The entire experience left us wanting to spend an additional night or two, and we would have if we did not have any commitments back home. If you're looking for a beautiful winter getaway (though I am sure it's lovely in the summer as well) this is the place to go.

Deb & Shell made us feel right at home during our two night stay. They gave us directions around the city and recommended local restaurants every night. They even provided menus ahead of time! We woke each morning to a three course gourmet breakfast that was absolutely delicious, and returned each night to a chocolate on our pillows. We are already planning an anniversary trip there for next year!

We couldn't have asked for anything more from our stay at Oak Hill on Love Lane. It was just the relaxing experience we were hoping for. Shell set us up for a delicious dinner at Chef's Table, and afterwards we relaxed in our comfortable and cozy room eating divine cupcakes that Deb made and enjoying the warm fire. The breakfast was delicious, and they even sent us away with brownies for the road. Such a kind couple! We were so thankful for this getaway, and we definitely plan to come back.

At the beginning of November we again had the opportunity to visit Oak Hill on Love Lane for the sixth time! A great calmness descends on us as we drive up the driveway and walk through the door. Happily greeting us with open arms, Shell and Deb make us feel like we are finally home! Each time we visit it is fun to see all the little upgrades that have appeared since our last visit. New artwork, a new pillow here and there, fabulous new recipes to anticipate at the great relaxing breakfasts. Shell & Deb are constantly working to bring their level of hospitality well above anyone's expectations. Their love of the inn and each and every guest is so evident. You will never be disappointed with your accomodations - from the ever so comfortable and cozy beds to the great relaxation areas throughout the house. Wonderful places to visit with new friends or quiet places to renew yourself. We look forward to our next visit with great anticipation and expectation. Oak Hill is a true retreat and a blessing to visit. The Emrich's.

My husband and I stayed here and we loved it. It was the first time that we have stayed at a B&B so we didn't know if we would enjoy it or not. But then we met Deb & Shell and they were great! The inn is beautifully decorated AND it was immaculate. The food was great and if we are going to be in the Ashville area again we know where we will be staying.

Fellow husbands, this is for you to read. No doubt the person in your family who cares most about where you stay while you’re on vacation is your wife, right? And if the place where you’re staying doesn’t measure up, well, that vacation already has two strikes against it, right? That’s why it was music to my ears when my wife got her sister on the phone the first night of our recent stay at Oak Hill on Love Lane in Waynesville, N.C., and pronounced it “adorable.” I knew that this vacation was already a success. The hosts, Deb and Shell Isenberg, somehow manage to keep the required ingredients of a successful B&B in perfect balance, or at least they did during our stay: They are friendly and helpful without being intrusive. Their menu is excellent – not to mention interactive. (They post the breakfast menu the day before. If you don’t like mushrooms, for example, you can tell them, and your individually prepared dish will be mushroom-free.) And their home is beautiful but also comfortable, historic but also bright and airy. (Husbands, don't be afraid of the "Love Lane" reference in the name. Yes, it sounds cheesy, but the street really is called Love Lane.) The Isenbergs seem to truly love being innkeepers and love living in Waynesville. You’ll love being their guests.

My wife and I had seen this Bed and Breakfast on the website and fell in love with it before we arrived. Although we had not made reservations, Shell and Deb were able to accomodate our request for lodging. We are so happy about that. It was our first stay in a Bed and Breakfst and it was absolutely wonderful. The rooms are all so well kept and bright and cheery. They have preserved all of the old house faithfully and with great care. Their hospitality is exceptional and the food was top notch. I slept great and could not wait to get to breakfast. Shell and Deb are two of the nicest people we have ever met. If you have the opportunity to stay here, take it. You will find yourself rewarded on a scale that is unsurpassed.

Oak Hill on Love Lane is a fabulous place to stay. The innkeepers are extremely helpful and curteous. They were able to direct us anywhere we wanted to visit or eat. Their recommendations were great. The home is beautifully decorated and allows for privacy. Breakfast is out of this world. We will definitely be visiting again!
5 on October 14, 2010
Our group of friends reserved the entire house for a long weekend get-away in October. The house was so beautiful and comfortable that it was difficult to leave at the end of the trip! Deb and Shell, the innkeepers, made all of our dining arrangements with various excellent restaurants in the area. They arranged a wine tasting that was the most fun!! Also arranged was a Navitat zip-line canopy tour. (I am "chicken" when it comes to adventure in the treetops. But I must say, I had a BLAST!!) Our group loved the Waynesville area. We plan to come back next fall. Deb and Shell made our experience in the mountains fabulous. We heartily recommend Oak Hill on Love Lane!

Thanks so much! Our stay here was amazing! The beauty, the cleanliness, the decor, and most of all the incredible care and service. Would do it again and again.

The Oak Hill on Love Lane Bed and Breakfast is without a doubt, the best bed and breakfast I have stayed at. My wife and and I decided to come to Asheville, NC for our honeymoon and we chose Oak Hill based on budget and the reviews. It was raining when we arrived and Deb met us outside with an umbrella, we were pampered, attended to and given privacy all at the same time. The accommodations were impeccable, the service was flawless and the food... words cant describe. We look forward to coming back here as long as Deb and Shell are the Innkeepers, for many anniversaries to come. Thank you so much for a memorable honeymoon experience.

This was the first stay in a B&B for my wife and me. Deb and Shell were very gracious and accomodating hosts, the rooms are lovely, and the grounds are very well kept. It was a wonderful place to stay.

This was our first trip to Waynesville and first time staying in a B & B. We absolutely loved both. We had a rare weekend without our 2 yr old and loved staying in such a beautiful house. Deb and Shell are so sweet and accomodating, they think of everything. I expected just the usual breakfast "buffet" style food, but we had gourmet meals, and when we were too full for the 3rd course, Deb packed it up for us to eat later. Loved the Butler Pantry and all the fresh backed goodies. The bed was very comfy and the sheets/blankets were so soft! Spotlessly clean everywhere. Can't wait to get a babysitter and go back one weekend!
5 on August 30, 2010
Shell and Deb, the innkeepers, have definately raised the bar on service and hospitality. Their B&B is perfection. We were going to be in town for a bike ride and by chance found out about this inn. What incredible luck. The house has been beautifully restored, the common rooms are elegant but inviting and the food it pure heaven. Shell and Deb went beyond the call by providing us the use of their kitchen for a pre-ride group dinnner, they adjusted to our crazy time constaints and made us all feel incredibly welcome. It could not have been a nicer weekend. So great that we have booked the whole house for next year's bike event.

This historic Bed & Breakfast is a must. If you are seeking a place where your soul can be restored this is it. The mountain view that greets you each morning as you sit on the porch is breath taking! A good night's rest?? Amazing! Quality mattresses and linens . . so comfortable I would have been content to spend the entire day in bed. If you like great art and great food, there is an artist in the kitchen and her creations are a delight to the eye and one's taste buds too! Yum . . yum There is something for everyone to do in downtown Waynesville. It is a quaint little town where if you like to shop your heart will be delighted. . where the hectic pace of life slows down and you are introduced to a style of life that use to be. They even have benches to along the streets beckoning you to "come and sit for awhile" .. my husband loved these!!! Oak Hill is a treasure that I am so thankful to have discovered!!

This was our first B&B experience. We were not exactly sure what to expect but we were blown away by the amount of service and attention to details that were put forth by the owners. From making a dinner reservation at the perfect restaurant or finding a nice plate of chocolate covered strawberries waiting for us in our room. The service couldn't have been better. A wonderful memory that we will treasure forever as the spot in which we celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary.

Our two days were great: 5-star service, a beautifully appointed and furnished old family home (yet with wi-fi!); the wrap-around porch was one of the most restful places I've been - with great view of spring-time in the mountains; convenient location for places we wanted to see in the area; breakfast far exceeded our expectations for a B&B.
5 on April 30, 2010
My wife and I had the good fortune of spending a weekend at Oak Hill which was recommended to us as one of the finest B&Bs in the South. We frequently stay in Bed and Breakfast places and small country inns but nothing compares to Oak Hill on Love Lane: the inn is immaculately clean and in mint condition, the rooms are spacious, elegantly furnished, heavenly bedding and luxurious amenities one would find only in five star hotels. The ambiance, the public areas and porches assures the highest level of comfort. Most exceptional, however, is the hospitality extended by Debbie and Shell; their attention to detail is amazing, the anticipation of their guests' need and their caring demeanor made for a perfect stay. As if this is not enough, the breakfast is out of this world, skillfully prepared and simply delicious. We can't wait to come back.

My wife and myself stayed at the Oak Hill on Love Lane for a family wedding. I can't begin to tell how great the stay was. Shell and Deb are great hosts and make an outstanding breakfast. They attended to our smallest need and were very attentive. Having stayed at B&B throughout Europe, we felt this one to be one of the very best. We would highly recommend this B&B for anyone traveling in this area of Western NC.

We found this B&B online. The website was very accurate. The rooms were beautifully appointed, the food was picture perfect and delicious and the innkeepers were friendly and warm. From the moment we arrived, we were treated as very special guest. Deb and Shell went out of their way to make our stay wonderful. We will definitely share information about their place with family and friends and plan to return in the future.

My husband and I have stayed at Oak Hill on Love Lane three times and it is such an amazing B&B. The rooms are perfectly decorated and lovely, with soaps and lotions made locally especially for the B&B. The innkeepers, Deb and Shell, go out of their way to make sure that every need is met and are the nicest, most accommodating hosts. The breakfast is always gourmet and always delicious. We are already looking forward to our next stay there!

My wife and I recently had the pleasure of visting Oak Hill on Love Lane and I can honestly say that it was the most wonderful stay we have ever experienced - anywhere! The view is beautiful, the home is lovely, the decor is incredible, the rooms are inviting (and beyond comfortable), and the breakfast was absolutely delicious. But the best part of the visit was the service. Deb and Shell are the consummate hosts and went over the top in making us feel welcome and completely at home, ensuring that we had everything we needed for a perfect stay. From the moment we left, all we've been able to talk about is the anticipation of returning this summer for an even longer visit.

Just returned from a weekend stay at Oak Hill and what a wonderful weekend it was! The excellent service started from the moment I called to make a last minute reservation and then met at the door to help retrieve the bags. The beautifully decorated house and rooms were immaculate and the breakfasts were fantastic! Deb and Shell, the owners, have mastered the art of excellent service from again assisting with bags, making restaurant recommendations and reservations, providing afternoon treats and desserts and coffee after dinner. I could go on and on but rest assured you will not be disappointed. It's a shame I can't give them 10 stars in every category as it is well deserved. Deb and Shell thank you for a much needed restful weekend and I will definitely be back soon! Ken

Beautiful, clean inn. Gracious hosts and excellent breakfasts. However, it was quite drafty and cold! Would definitely go back, but in the warmer months!

Deb and Shell run a first rate B&B. The home itself was outstanding. All of the rooms were in excellent condition and very well docorated. Our hosts were extremely attentive, making sure we had everything we needed for a great stay. I am afraid they may have spoiled me for other B&B trips. The No Kids, No Pets, No Smoking policy is something I really liked. Some examples of their hospitality... My girlfriend and I were playing Trivial Pursuit in the sitting room one evening and Shell brought us two freshly baked chocolate chip muffins from Deb...Deb said we had to try these right out of the oven. Shell got us directions whenever we mentioned destinations, as well as check on availbility for dinner at local restaurants. All in all, excellent hosts and an excellent home.

Very low-key weekend for us. Enjoyed the room with the fireplace. The bath was nicely updated and had some counter space which was very nice. The bath was updated nicely too. The innkeepers seemed to promote other businesses a little too much -- otherwise, they were very nice, helpful, and accommodating. Great recommendations for restaurants and always available to assist. Food was plentiful and excellent! Overall excellent stay.
5 on February 21, 2010
The most impressive service we have ever received in an exquisitely decorated, spotless home. Convenient location matched with privacy and charm...truly a rare find. Deb and Shell were an immense help with our wedding preparations and so gracious and welcoming to our family. We will be back to celebrate with you every year!! Until then...

My stay at Oak Hill was by far an outstanding experience. Debbie and Shel are warm, kind, caring people who welcomed me into their lovely, clean home and made me so comfortable.
5 on January 10, 2010
The home is lovely and the service is impeccable. The bed was luxurious-- pillow top mattress, 600+ threadcount sheets, toasty duvet-- all of these ensured an excellent night's sleep. I was there during an unusual cold snap and the room was so cozy-- the gas logs were easy to use and heated the room nicely. Deb and Shell provide exceptional service-- my car was always scraped free of frost when I left in the morning, they provided easy and clear directions along with maps and guides to local attractions, and were always warm and welcoming. The food was also great: fresh homemade cookies available every day, innovative and tasty breakfasts with a wide selection of morning teas, and they graciously accommodated dietary issues. Not enough good things can be said about Oak Hill on Love Lane and Deb and Shell-- I would recommend a visit to Waynesville JUST to stay here (although Waynesville and the surrrounding areas are really great, too).
5 on January 07, 2010
The house was in immaculate condition. Sophisticated and cozy at the same time. The food was amazing. The owners were down to earth, very knowledgeable of the area and made us feel very at home. They definitely have making a warm, romantic environment down to a science.

As personable as Europe's finest boutique hotels, service to make the Ritz envious, comfy beds, great food, a beautifully restored period house and the two nicest inn keepers you will ever meet. They anticipated our every whim. Even met us at the door with a tray of cold beer (our friends passion) and always had wine glasses waiting for my wife. This is definitely the place to stay.

It has become our tradition to visit Oak Hill twice a year. It is our favorite destination. When you walk in the door it feels like “home”. Our first stop is the front veranda. A few minutes resting in a comfy chair and taking in the mountain view is immediately relaxing. Deb & Shell are Innkeepers Supreme! No detail is overlooked. You can always expect a warm welcome. A low key, friendly atmosphere abounds with 5 spacious, yet cozy and comfortable rooms to choose from, as well as private sitting areas, both on the first and second floors. From the exceptionally comfortable beds, covered in lovely linens, to all the bath amenities you would require, no detail is left undone. There are refreshments and freshly baked sweets awaiting in the dining room. It is always a pleasant surprise to peruse the menu for the next day’s breakfast – we can hardly wait to arise in the morning to enjoy that special meal and meet the other guests who have chosen Oak Hill. Each day as you leave to sightsee, Deb is happy to pack freshly baked muffins for your mid-morning snack. If your choice is Oak Hill for a short or long getaway you will not be disappointed. We are counting down the days to our next visit. Jan & Lee Emrich

My husband and I just arrived back home after a wonderful four night stay with Shell & Deb. We were celebrating our 1-year wedding anniversary and staying at Oak Hill on Love Lane was the best decision I could have made! Deb & Shell honestly helped to make our special occasion perfect. It was better than I could have imagined. To say they are accomodating would be a gross understatement. I really felt as if we were visiting family. The breakfasts were amazing! Our room was romantic & beautiful. Their attention to detail is like no other. This was our first stay at a B & B and I can honestly say I cannot wait to go back to Waynesville and stay with Shell & Deb again. I could go on and on about how perfect our stay was but I have a feeling there is a character limit on this entry. Thank you Shell & Deb for making our 1st Anniversary so special and beautiful. My husband and I love this part of NC and have vacationed in the area every Fall for the past few years. This year was our first time staying at Oak Hill and I honestly don't think I could bear to stay anywhere else now! The inn itself is exquisite: immaculately kept and elegantly appointed, yet comfortable and unpretentious. The amenities were plentiful (rooms refreshed daily and turn-down service every evening, most comfortable bed ever, boutique toiletries, fresh baked goods every day, complimentary butler's pantry, the list goes on...) and the breakfasts were sublime. Deb and Shell are amazing hosts. They are warm and welcoming and are truly committed to making your stay enjoyable (right down to the smallest detail). Get ready to get spoiled at Oak Hill!

With the help of Deb and Shell, my husband surprised me with two nights at the Oak Hill on Love Lane for our 24th anniversary. We had a fabulous time! The Inn is beautifully restored and our room was gorgeous! Deb and Shell have excellent taste! The bed was the most comfortable one we've ever slept in. In the evening our sheets were turned down , perfumed with lavender and chocolates were on our pillow (chocolate covered strawberries were beside our bed the first night!) The breakfasts were delicious as well! Deb had homemade treats, a cabinet full of drinks and snacks available during the day. Deb and Shell were both very knowledgeable about the area and gave us directions to see the waterfalls and made reservations for us for dinner at the Sweet Onion. We had a lovely time and look forward to a return visit.

The rooms are elegant; the service was that of a 5 star hotel and the Paula Dean french toast just melted in your mouth. We loved the porch and visiting with other guest, we made new friends and plan to return next year together. Deb and Shell are some of the kindest people you will ever meet. If you choose this Bed and Breakfast you will not have any regrets and prepare to be pampered. Denise & Mike Brinson Knoxville, TN

My girlfriend and I wanted to take a romantic trip to the North Carolina mountains and raft. We chose Oak Hill based on their website alone, and boy, were we overwhelmed. Shell and Debbie were more kind, warm, and service oriented than we could have asked for. And the breakfast was spectacular. Complimentary coffee by the cup, and homemade baked goods in the afternoon made the trip so wonderful. We really wanted for nothing. Our room was beautiful, the bathroom and toiletries were luxurious. It was my girlfriend's first time in a b&b, and it made the weekend great.

I grew up in this home as it was in my family from 1899 to 1979. The house has been meticulously maintained & preserved; yet updated w/ all of the modern conveniences. The Isenbergs define gracious southern hospitality---in the bed & breakfast world these accommodations are indeed world class!!!

The Oak Hill B&B was a pleasure to stay at! Deb and Shell make sure that every request that is given or accommodation that is needed is fulfilled! We were very impressed with the way Deb and Shell got up in the early morning hours to accommodate breakfast for us all. The house is beautiful, welcoming, and gives an old time Victorian feel. The food was delicious and the house is only a short walk from the town. It is also a short distance from the Nantahala white water rafting center! The B&B is very triathlete friendly and is a great place to stay for an early race! We had an excellent time and cannot wait to come back!

If you were to look up the word "perfection" in the B&B Dictionary -- "Oak Hill on Love Lane" would surely be the definition. As seasoned B&B travelers (2 decades), we agree that Oak Hill is our #1 choice and we will return. From the owners to the food to the rooms, cleanliness & attention to detail; unsurpassed.

Oak Hill on Love Lane in Waynesville, NC is a relatively new bed and breakfast and is probably one of the best inns that I have ever visited because of the owners. I stay in bed & breakfasts almost exclusively when I travel. The owners, Shell & Deb, go out of their way to make sure that your stay is memorable. From all of the details throughout the B&B to your spacious and lovely guest accommodation, they have thought of just about everything. They have beautiful but comfortable indoor common areas, plus a large wrap around porch (my favorite spot to enjoy the great mountain view and cooler evening temps) that looks out over the grounds. Wooded and private, this is a place that is being tended to by caring and loving hearts. Traveling on my own to meet up with friends a bit farther North, I felt so relaxed. This is a quiet and serene spot which was perfect for me to let go of all the stresses of business. A great spot to use as a base to visit Asheville and the Biltmore Estate, too. The guest rooms are very tasteful in decor and the textiles are just lovely. The bathrooms are immaculate as well as pretty. The bath amenities that are made especially for Oak Hill are great. Wonderful thick towels to wrap up in and comfy robes to lounge in can also be found in the baths. Many complimentary amenities: free Wifi (which worked very well everywhere); bottled water, sodas, iced tea and coffee, snacks, Deb's yummy afternoon treats are in the dining room; evening turndown service; concierge services. Breakfast was delicious and so filling that I had to have my muffin "to-go". Wonderful presentation with plenty of great coffee, too. The best part about Oak Hill on Love Lane is the attentive and amiable hosts who make you feel like you've known them all your life. This is the secret to a great bed and breakfast! I only wish that I could have stayed longer. I will be back with my husband to visit Oak Hill and the area because of these nice folks!

This was me and my husband's first time at a bed and breakfast. The owners of Oak Hill were wonderful people who take pride in great hospitality. The location is quaint, clean and refreshing. Rooms are beautiful-exactly as shown in its website photos. I can't imagine anyone being disappointed. -Mr. and Mrs. Wingate

Oak Hill is the Ritz Carlton of B&B's. This magnificent North Carolina historical house has been newly renovated and it is magnificent. Every room is decorated to its own uniqueness and one room is more exquisite then the next. The beds are extremely luxurious and comfortable. I cannot remember the last time we slept so good. In the morning we were treated to a delicious gourmet breakfast and great conversation with the owners and the other guests. Afternoon tea was served with freshly home baked goods that we enjoyed out on the veranda overlooking the mountains. Shell and Deb are warm, wonderful and talented people with years of experience in the hotel industry. They will cater to your every need. It is no wonder the visit was a five star experience. We also loved Waynesville and everything the town and surrounding area had to offer. Wish we could have stayed longer and cannot wait to return. Kerstin and Danny

I loved every moment spent at Oak Hill. It's the greatest and most hospitable place I have ever had the chance to stay at! Everyone should go to Oak Hill!

It's a lovely home, very welcoming. The owners, Deb and Shell, treat you like a dear friend. I felt very pampered. The bed was so comfortable and the breakfast was delicious! I hope you treat yourself to a visit!

Wow! We absolutely loved this B&B. Wonderfully furnished, friendly, kind innkeepers, immaculate, all in a sleepy town close to everything, minutes to breathtaking Blue Ridge Parkway.

The only reason why we rated Oak Hill 5’s was because there were no 10’s. The accommodations surpassed our expectations; the cleanest room we have ever occupied hands down. The three morning meals were the best breakfasts that we’ve ever had. As good as the accommodations and food were, the hospitality shown by Deb and Shell was even better. They attended to our every need, were eager to suggest fun activities and provided much needed maps and directions (I get lost in my own backyard). Deb and Shell made us feel as if we were part of a family, not just guests at a hotel. We look forward to a repeat visit soon. Regards, Tony and Carla.

Oak Hill was the first Bed and Breakfast I have had the pleasure of staying at. I was so impressed with the service and sincerity of the innkeepers Deb and Shell.

We had the great pleasure of returning to Oak Hill for the third time over the Memorial Day holiday. Each time we visit our expectations are well exceeded! Each guest suite has its own personality and Deb & Shell are expert on helping to determine the best suite for each guest. They are there to please from morning til night. Breakfasts are outstanding; fresh baked goodies to go as you leave for the day; upon returning from sightseeing a welcome seat on the front veranda is so restful. The gardens and the mountains in the distance give great peace. When turning in at night your room has been refreshed, beds turned down, and chocolates on your pillow are waiting. The inn is very quiet and restful even with a full house. Oak Hill is a special retreat and we look forward to our next trip. The home is lovely, but the innkeepers are the very best. Awesome! It could be an 11, but we will settle for a 10! J&L

How can I go back to staying in a regular hotel ever again? I’ve stayed at some of the best including the Ritz Carlton in Naples, the Mandarin Oriental in San Francisco, and The Francis Marion in Charleston yet they all pale in comparison to Oak Hill. Deb and Shell are much more than innkeepers. Convivial, engaging and professional; there is no questioning their desire to ensure your visit is unforgettable. It’s like visiting your favorite Aunt and Uncle. The service is unmatched, the food, all from scratch and served with enthusiasm, is worth a visit in and of itself, and the rooms have every conceivable detail accounted for. There isn't enough room here to describe how comfortable the beds are. If you travel extensively, be prepared to experience a new standard in guest accommodations and dread the day you have to stay anywhere else.

This bed and breakfast is not to be missed if you are visiting the Blue Ridge Mountains. Deb and Shell are the quintessential hosts. They are lovely to talk to, and their accommodations reflect their unique spirit and perspective of what a home away from home should be. Deb's cookies and pumpkin bread are reason enough. Most important though, you feel comfortable just being there. I hope to return soon.

This was by far the best bed and breakfast we have ever stayed in! Shell and Deb were so attentive and personable. We truly felt we were in a "home away from home". So much so that we did not want to leave. Their attention to detail was impeccable. All of the rooms were beautifully decorated and spacious. The three course breakfasts were simply delicious. They were very accommodating with reservations and area activities. They left us with little to do but enjoy our restful vacation. Thank you Deb and Shell for a vacation of rest, relaxation, and fun. We will definitely return and suggest this B&B to all our friends and relatives.

Oak Hill is a beautiful, Victorian home with ALL the modern touches. Shell and Deb were the most fantastic hosts. We recommend this place and will surely go again!

From the outside Oak Hill is beautiful. In the inside it is even more so. Very elegantly and tastefully decorated. The rooms are spacious. Deb and Shell do everything to make you feel comfortable and welcome. The food is superb. The place is immaculate. Gorgeous views of the mountains and town of Waynesville. I can't wait to return!

My wife and I were fortunate to have chanced upon Oak Hill in a recent trip to Waynesville. Deb and Shell were absolutely the perfect host and helpful in every way. We will always know where we'll be staying when in this part of western North Carolina. Boy, I'm sure glad we found this gem of a B & B and no doubt we will will return! Royce and Annette Branan

I've had the opportunity to travel around the world and visit numerous luxury hotels, properties, and resorts. This is a real jewel in a quaint small southern mountain town. Deb and Shell are the complete hosts! They are very welcoming and display true southern hospitality. The Inn is a an old home restored and refined to reflect luxury accomodations. The rooms are large, well appointed with fireplaces, flat screen tv's, and local art. The breakfast is quite nice. You won't be disappointed.

Our weekend stay at Oak Hill was fabulous. The accommodations were first rate, the food was delicious and the hospitality was over the top!

We arrived at Oak Hill for a short getaway. The spectacular pictures on their website do not do this Bed and Breakfast justice! The entire property was absolutely breathtaking. Deb and Shell were splendid down to every detail. They were very warm and made us feel just like part of their family. There are a variety of good dining choices nearby. Waynesville offers a unique collection of shops and is only a short drive to Asheville. Deb and Shell were able to give us directions to anywhere we wanted to go as well as suggestions on what to do when we got there. It was the most relaxing and amazing vacation we've had. We are counting down the days until we return to Oak Hill - we never wanted to leave. Deb, Shell and the property are the BEST.

The pictures on their website reflects accurately what guest experience and more. This elegant B&B shown on their website is exactly the way we found each room. There is attention to detail in amenities and service. We were pampered throughout our stay. From the special consideration for our diet, offering snacks/drinks, and providing allergy friendly bedding and an filtered air system. The amenities offered here are better than the ones we’ve found at 5 star hotels including white glove cleanliness. What is not reflected is Deb & Shells passion for creating the ultimate relaxing experience. We look forward to our third stay in a few weeks.
5 on March 09, 2009
Shell & Deb did everything they could to make us feel at home and we did ! We stayed an extra night. An excellent location, just a short walk to Waynesville's wonderful main street. The decor of the Inn is just perfect.

Shel and Deb are the complete hosts. We spent three wonderful days over the Valentines Day weekend at Oak Hill. Every request was handled quickly and to our total satisfaction. Their attention to detail was oustanding. The food was delicious, the room was perfect, and the service was very attentive.

Everything was just wonderful. The rooms were well appointed, inn-keepers were very friendly and the breakfasts were delicious
4.4 on February 23, 2009
The innkeepers went out their way to make our stay enjoyable. The food was excellent, and the free drinks and snacks were a welcomed bonus, we've not had at other B&Bs in the past. The downtown and surrounding areas, offer a good variety of things to see and do.
5 on February 10, 2009
We had never stayed in a B&B before, so I was wary of booking somewhere that did not look like the pictures on the web. I was attracted to Oak Hill online because their website was so easy to use and the pictures of the rooms looked perfect. When we arrived we were so in awe of the house and grounds - no yucky floral patterns and weird smells at this place! We were there only one day but we were treated very well and would definately return!

My husband and I stayed at Oak Hill for our 10th wedding anniversary. It was a perfect getaway. Quiet and sunny rooms. Lovely decor. Excellent service. Very clean. Great location close to town and a great view of the mountains and town. The innkeepers are delightful people who went out of their way to be helpful and kind to us. We will definitely be staying there again when we need some time to relax.

We stayed at Oak Hill for our anniversary for a coupe of days. The inn itself is absolutely beautiful. The way it is decorated makes you feel so pampered and relaxed. Deb and Shell are so kind and helpful. They helped us book reservations and also gave us some ideas for things to do. The food was delicious. My husband was so spoiled by Debs wonderful baked goods. They even catered to my diabetic needs. We will definitely be coming back and recommend this inn to anyone.

Our visit to Deb & Shell's B&B this past September was one we'll never forget. The entire stay surpassed our expectiations and we couldn't have been more pleased. Everything they do is first class all the way, but most impressive were Deb & Shell's warmth & hospitality. They make you feel comfortable from the moment you book your reservation. We can't wait to return!

Oak Hill is a remarkable blend of place and hospitality. Within walking distance of picturesque historic Waynesville, this historic inn exudes the warmth of the home it has been through the years. Shell and Debbine combine 5-star professional attention to detail with genuine personal warmth and helpfulness.

We have stayed with Shell & Deb twice and both visits have been wonderful! They truly make you feel so welcomed and pamper you the entire stay. The food is wonderful, several courses you receive! You never go away hungry. The Inn has been tastefully decorated and is located is a desirable area of the city. We have stayed at several b & B's but this is one of our favorite Inn's. One needs to treat themselves to an experience at Oak Hill.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Oak Hill. Deb and Shel are outstanding hosts and went out of their way to make us comfortable and welcome. And the FOOD! We will enjoy being repeat guests and finding reasons to return to Waynesville.

We stayed at the Oak Hill on Love Lane while attending a wedding in Waynesville and expected nothing even above average. I should have known just by the couple conversations with Deb reserving a room that it was going to be something special. Shel and Deb literally took care of us before we even arrived to the inn! Once we got there, WOW is all we could say. The room was beautiful..the service spectacular...and the breakfast was out of this world! My husband is gourmet chef and we were blown away! Shel and Deb just took fabulous care of us and it almost felt like we met some old friends! We are looking forward to coming back soon!!

Last year my husband and I stayed at a bed and breakfast in Asheville which is featured in the book "1000 places to see before you die." After that stay we decided nothing could compare to that, we were wrong. Our recent stay at the Oak Hill on Love Lane surpassed that stay in Asheville. The food, rooms, hospitality, and wonderful innkeepers made it the best place to stay on our list. We can not wait to return!

My husband and I stayed at Oak Hill on Love Lane August 9th for my Mom's Birthday celebration. Our expectations were exceeded! Deb and Shell went out of their way to make us feel welcomed and pampered. We've stayed at many luxurious B&B's and Oak Hill is one of our favorites. The gourmet breakfast and afternoon treats were wonderful!!! You won't be disappointed staying at Oak Hill...the hospitality and graciousness will be the highlight of your trip to this hstoric B&B. We're returning this fall...can't wait!

My husband and I had such a wonderful time at Oak Hill. Shell and Deb have made their B&B into a cozy, elegant home in which we felt welcome the moment we arrived. The location is prime, with views of mountains and the city of Waynesville. They have renovated the house in such a way that all of the history remains in tact yet the modern touches have been added. Deb and Shell have a way of making you feel as if you are staying with friends, yet you have all of the touches of a five star resort. The breakfasts were delicious and were outstanding in presantaion. The Innkeepers also helped us make dinner reservations and help us with area attractions. We plan to stay at Oak Hill agian when we are in NC. Oak Hill is one B&B you will not want to miss! Until next time--The Martins

I stayed with my husband at Oak Hill on May 24th-26th. The hosts were awesome and there for our every need. Great food, beautiful location! I look forward to visiting again soon, if you are remotely close to western NC you have to stay here. This is by far the best B&B I have found in Western NC. KI

We stumbled on this property by accident. It has just reopened after extensive redecorating and remodeling. This place is like a fine New York Hotel. I would have paid twice as much (hope the owners don't read these) and been pleased. The hosts are so friendly and nice - paying attention to the smallest of details. You'll love the linens, towels, soaps, sitting area (our room as a sitting room w/ fireplace and I believe some others do as well.) This area is so much more relaxing than Asheville, although it is only 30 minutes away if you have to see the sites there. This is the classiest place I've ever stayed and will return to do nothing, but sit on that front porch looking over dowtown and the mountains of Waynesville.
5 on May 26, 2008
We stayed at the Oak Hill on May 24-26th which is about 15 min from Asheville and in a beautiful small town named Waynesville. This is by far the best B&B that we have ever stayed with! If I could give more than 5 stars I definitely would. The colors of the rooms are so comforting and relaxing, Deb decorated the house very well. Deb and Shell were both great hosts, and were there to help with any need we had. The breakfast provided is similar to what you would find in a fine restaurant for breakfast, it was so delicious. They use local products which were high quality. We look forward to visiting Oak Hill again, hopefully we can get up there for the fall colors. Thanks so much for a great getaway! Ben & Kristie

Oak Hill is a "gem". Conveniently located outside of Asheville, in a quaint little town. Beautifully appointed, well-cared for. Bright, quiet rooms. Exceptionally comfortable beds. Great attention to detail. Terrific breakfasts. Deb & Shell are friendly, helpful and accomodating. Our plan is to return over and over.
