The Hemlock Inn is beautifully situated on the top of a small mountain on the edge of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The emphasis is on quiet and relaxation, whether rocking on the front porch or walking the trails. For the more active there is whitewater rafting on the Nantahala River or hiking in the National Park. You'll appreciate the friendly informality, the clean, attractive rooms, the honest-to-goodness homecooking and farm fresh vegetables served bountifully from Lazy Susan.

Four siblings and their spouses stayed over the weekend. We visited scenic Bryson City and hiked in the GSMNP. Rooms were nice, host was excellent and food was superb. View was unbelievable! Plan to visit again with my children and their families and do a little tubing. Highly recommended!

My wife and I love the Hemlock Inn, which is why it is difficult to write this review. We went there on our honeymoon 34 years ago and loved it. For various reasons we didn't make it back until 2013 and decided to try and return at least once every year thereafter. We didn't make it in 2014, but just went again in 2015. The Inn is a wonderful place, one where you can immerse yourself in the peacefulness of the mountains or you can use it as a place to make day trips for all types of activities. The food is still great! The dining area and other portions of the main building are great and appear in very good shape. The grounds are well maintained with lovely landscaping. Unfortunately, the rooms are a bit dated and some need some maintenance, things like chipped paint on doors and cracks in ceiling, some non-functioning light fixtures, etc. - just little touches here and there could really improve the rooms. The overall appearance of the rooms are good. We recommend the Hemlock Inn.

I was a wild young man of 18 when I visited the Hemlock Inn with relatives. No T.V., No Radio, No Swimming Pool, and no people my age. There was shuffle board, chairs to sit and read, and walking trails. They would ring a bell for meal time and the food was excellent as was the service. This was 1964. I was never so bored in my young ;life. I remember we all went to the passion play. It was very good. The rooms were nice and clean. Now 50 years later I still remember that stay. I must admit even though I was bored I enjoyed my stay and have thought about going back several times over the years. If you are traveling through the Smokey Mountians I would highly recommend staying at the Hemlock Inn.

I would highly recommend this inn to anyone who wants to spend some quiet time in the mountains. The staff goes above and beyond to respond to special requests. The family-style meals are delightful and promote friendships among the guests. Most of those who come once come again, and that is surely our intention!

Sure, you can find residential "log" houses with lesser rates, but why cook for your self? Why deal with cleaning? Why deal with cable and TV? You can stay home and do all those. The Hemlock Inn is just as the pictures describe, safe, carefree, and a world away; but, right on the door step of all Smokey Mountains activities. Visit once, and you will be back.

Our stay here was the highlight of our trip! Wonderful hosts, delicious foods, outstanding scenery and to dine family style and meet folks from all over the country was a treat! We will definitely be back!

This was where my wife and I spent our honeymoon forty nine years ago. Would recommend it as very enjoyable place to stay. Food was great. Room was clean and very well kept.

Hemlock Inn is a real treat. The lounge, dining area and games facilities are exceptional. When we arrived we chilled out on the back porch as the sun went down. The food served family style was so lovely as we were able to meet people from all over the US and it really felt like a family gathering complete with pre dinner blessing. We enjoyed doing a jigsaw which was kind of relaxing except for the fact there were some pieces missing which added to the challenge! Fireplace was lit in the morning which was a lovely place to have coffee before breakfast. All in all a beautiful place would highly recommend it

We have been coming here for a couple years now. If we are staying in bryson city or somewhere close to bryson city, we always stay at Hemlock Inn. Everything about this place is just amazing!!

We enjoyed our two-night stay. The staff are exceptionally warm and friendly. The breakfast and dinner were filling. We enjoyed the prayer before meals, which added to the peaceful atmosphere. We met other guests who return to the Hemlock Inn annually. I got to play a couple games of ping pong.
