The Garden Room was beautiful, and perfect for three of us on a girls trip. Rhonda, Rosemary and Simon the Inn cat made it truly feel like being a guest in someone's home. Breakfasts were delicious. We were sorry to have booked such a short stay.

My husband and I came for an anniversary weekend. We arrived late and Faith made us very welcome and got us settled in beautifully. I loved it that there is a pantry for guests where we could make tea - it had the first electric kettle I've seen in America outside my own home. As a Brit, this is important! Rosemary also leaves out a plate of sweet treats for late night cravings, and there's a microwave available. Our room, Vanity Fair, was spacious and comfortable with a beautiful bed (though the mattress was on the soft side for my personal taste - I like firm). Efficient a/c and bathroom (it's not a clawfoot tub, it's a built-in with sliding glass doors and big shower head). Bathrooms are hard to retrofit in old houses and this has been done well. (Warning: the water pressure is low and so is the lavatory pedestal!). Lots of nice towels and robes and an umbrella supplied. Breakfast starts at 8 with cold food put out: fruit, yogurt, cereal. You help yourself to coffee and juices. On Saturday morning there was also pound cake and for our hot breakfast (served 8.30-9.30), Rosemary gave us a very good waffle with fresh strawberries, sausages and ice cream!! On Saturday evening, there was a cocktail hour with cheese and crackers and the charming Fabrizio gave us a choice of red or white wine. Sunday breakfast included blueberry cake and peach cobbler (both very good; Rosemary is an excellent cook) and Eggs Benedict with a really good Hollandaise. They really don't want you to go hungry! Rosemary also gave us a downtown map, advice on parking, help with planning our day trips and she keeps binders with menus from local restaurants so that we could choose where to eat. The Albemarle is a lovely house, beautifully kept and imaginatively decorated - it even has a nice cat called Simon. It was a lovely weekend break, many thanks for your hospitality.

My husband and I approached this stately looking white southern Inn in Asheville, NC and we knew immediately it was going to be a great stay; and we were not disappointed . The host and hostess were extremely courteous and accommodating from the start, could not do enough to please us. Surprised me with a cake on my birthday morning and arranged a massage for my husband and I, made fantastic dinner arrangements and even when I lost a make-up bag, they found it and mailed it to me. Their breakfasts were superb, beds were really comfy and the Inn is in a great location. Highly recommended and we would stay there again. Nancy and John Carpitella

We arrived on Monday, June 26th, 2017 for a 2 night stay and thoroughly enjoyed our time in the Inn. Rosemary was a gracious host and the breakfast was enjoyable both days. She recommended restaurants in the area for lunch and dinner which definitely enhanced our visit. We will definitely return!

A friend recommended the Albemarle and it far exceeded our expectations. So quaint and comfortable and the rooms were immaculate. The owners were wonderful hosts and the staff made sure we had everything we needed. Our new favorite spot to stay in Asheville.
1.8 on May 10, 2017
The Albemarle has lots of potential, but fails to live up to it. First the pluses. It is an interesting old house (National Register) in a quiet middle class neighborhood a short drive to downtown. The room was large. But the carpeting in our room was very worn, rippled and spotted in many places. The blinds in the room were cheap mini-blinds. The bathroom looked to have been a do-it-yourself remodel project using cheap fixtures from Home Depot. Half of the bathroom was under the sloping rafters so that a 6 foot adult could not stand up. The shower was the smallest I have encountered in the US. Even the toilet paper was super cheap thin industrial TP. There was a hole in the wall where the towel bar had been ripped from the wall. All of this surprised us since the Inn was well rated on TripAdvisor and by AAA. We've stayed in very nice bed and breakfasts, and this did not measure up.
We are very sorry that you found your room to be so disappointing, with many issues. We assure you that we are working constantly on room renovations & repairs, trying to raise them up to guests' expectations. Sorry about the TP-it is not that we are being cheap. We have a note in each bathroom stating that our 110 year old plumbing cannot tolerate the fluffy, perfumed papers. We would have been pleased to move you to one of our recently professionally renovated rooms with large showers & high ceilings in the bath, or to relocate you to a modern hotel if you had wanted. But you never let us know of your unhappiness during your stay.

My wife and I visited Albemarle Inn for a long weekend and we enjoyed every moment at the Inn. The Inn itself is very cozy and has a great vibe. We spent the days in Asheville but I found myself wanting to return to the Inn to soak in the atmosphere and to really enjoy the surroundings. Tasha tended to our every need and really cares about providing exceptional service. The Inn has a 100% health rating and it will take you about two seconds to see why. Every part of the Inn is immaculately maintained and I can honestly say that I've never seen a room as clean and perfect as the suite that we enjoyed during our stay. We opted for the suite with the jacuzzi and are glad that we did. It allowed us to relax after long days on our feet. I also really enjoyed the 5pm Happy Hour, as it was a nice break in the day and I found myself chatting up the other guests and really enjoying everything that Albemarle had to offer. We will certainly be returning many times in the future and plan on visiting again around the Christmas holiday. Great Inn. Great people.

My husband and I chose to visit Asheville for a romantic Valentine’s Day getaway. The Albemarle Inn was wonderful! The breakfasts were delicious and the room was just as pictured. We were greeted at the door by the assistant innkeeper and given all the information we needed. The only issue we had was that the house cat sat outside our door and meowed late into the night. Other than that, it was a wonderful stay. We would definitely stay here again.
Thank you so much for your wonderful review of our home, the Albemarle Inn! We are glad that you were pleased with your stay, our breakfasts, and services. We are so sorry that you were bothered by Simon, our cat at nighttime. We want to assure you that we have made changes, and no longer allow him in the front of the Inn overnight. We would be pleased to offer you a quiet nights'stay in the future as our guest to compensate for the trouble he caused you.

Loved the home - no Victorian junk! Clean, beautifully decorated, lovely fireplaces in living room & dining room. Extra dining option was a lovely enclosed sun room off dining room. The in room 90 minute massage was a HUGE hit as was our day at the BILTMORE ESTATE! Tickets handled thru the B&B!! If you want a lovely weekend this is your B&B. Only suggestion was that a full protein breakfast option be offered every morning.
Thank you for your great review of your stay with us here at the Albemarle, and your visit to our city, Asheville! We so enjoyed helping you plan your Mother/Daughter trip, with all its activities, and were pleased that you enjoyed them together. We thank you for your suggestion regarding breakfast. We do try to let our guests know that if they do not want the Daily Breakfast Menu, we are pleased to make substitutions for them. We are considering to print a Daily Breakfast Menu for the future. It will give guests the options, and highlight our ability to accommodate any special diets or requests. Thank you again. We hope to see you back soon!

We picked this property at the last minute (the night before!) a weekend getaway for my birthday. In the past we have stayed at the Grove Park, but that has become so very crowded and expensive. Although we would book further in advance to get a second floor room instead of the third floor room we had this time, we definitely would stay here again. Beds, linens and amenities all were very nice. Breakfast and included snacks were all we could want. The inn is in a 100 year old (approx) Greek revival mansion in a very nice neighborhood. We walked to the Grove Park for dinner one night and were happy to get back to enjoy the last of our bottle of wine in front of the fire at the quiet, comfortable Albemarle.

My wife and I really enjoyed our two night stay at the Albemarle Inn. It was very clean, quiet, outstanding breakfast, and has great hosts. The furnishings made you feel you were in another time, which was great. Plus, it's close to downtown, just off the beaten path, so no traffic noise at all. Needles to say if we're in the area again, that's where we will stay.

I met my old college roommate for a girls' weekend in Asheville and we had the most amazing and memorable stay at Albermarle Inn! From the moment I walked through the door I felt like I was visiting old friends. Besides just being a gorgeously renovated old home with so much charm and character , the whole atmosphere is is warm and inviting. I was met at the door by a gracious Innkeeper who made me feel like I was the only guest she was expecting all weekend. I think it took us 30 minutes just to tour the facility because we just kept chatting about anything from my plans for the weekend to the adventures of our dogs. The personal attention continued throughout the stay by all staff and even the owners. All my needs were tended to including doing some laundry! We had gotten caught in a downpour so they washed, dried, folded and delivered our dirty wet clothes and towels. The breakfast and cocktail hour were lovely. And delicious! It was such a beautiful peaceful setting. I wanted to stay forever. Thanks for such a special weekend! I will definitely return and I will tell my friends to go too! Laura Denoma

This B&B is in the restored large home of a bygone era on the Registry of Historical Sites. It was built "back in the day" when such homes were built with grandeur. The nice sized guest bedrooms and bath are furnished with lovely touches to insure comfort. There's a spacious front veranda with lots of room to sit, read, and enjoy the beautiful yard and garden. The hosts gave excellent recommendations for local restaurants and attractions. The delicious full breakfast is served on a light filled white wickered enclosed porch.

What a beautiful home and wonderful inn! The proprietors are quite pleasant and most helpful with regard to service, directions, recommendations, etc. Excellent hosts! The room was extremely quiet and comfortable. We slept like rocks. The breakfast was delish as well. Spent the day at the Biltmore and had dinner just up the hill at the Grove Park. Really enjoyed our stay and wouldn't hesitate to book at the Albemarle Inn for our next visit to the area.

My boyfriend and I made the drive up to Asheville for the first time over a long Fourth of July weekend. I found the Albemarle online - it's the first bed & breakfast we've ever stayed in. We did not get the room we selected when we registered because a previous guest extended their stay. The innkeeper was not very apologetic nor did she offer any accommodation for the change (eg. some kind of discount.) The bed while very comfortable was in a corner which made it hard to get up and down on the wall side. Linens were clean and lovely. Room was a bit dark and overhead lightbulb was out. Bathroom was small but clean and nicely appointed. Breakfast began with blueberries I lemon curd. Main dish was cheddar and broccoli quiche with not so tasty sausages and cookies for dessert.

All in all, this is a beautiful place, an old mansion set in a very quiet peaceful neighborhood. The Grove Park Resort is about a mile away. The large porch is lovely to sit on in the evening. The interior is dark and sticks pretty much to the Victorian style it probably began with, long ago. I think it needs color and updating. The rooms are not equally comfortable, but they are generally so - look carefully if you have a choice; I recommend the blue room. The owner Rosemary is pleasant and helpful; she will accommodate most all needs and questions. The breakfast room is light, beautiful and calming, though breakfast hours are strictly limited. Our only disappointment was the breakfast itself, which did not in any way measure up to the many wonderful, "gourmet" breakfasts we've had at other upscale B & Bs, and even at some chain hotels: it seemed ungenerous, uninteresting and cursory. We left hungry. If such things don't matter to you, Albemarle is an excellent, relaxing place to stay and is easily accessible from the highways and downtown.

The 3 course breakfast began with a large slice of ice cream with choped candied pecans. Second course--waffle with thick caramel sauce and whipped cream. Third course--a few Madeleine. ...all fat, sugar & carbs. Breakfast is only served from 8:30 to 9:30. It started late and we were one hour late for our hoped for start time at the Biltmore estate visit. Very nice women, newly employed, introduced themselves as the innkeepers. They were not familiar with Asheville and couldn't recommend restaurants.

We will be back if our travels take us back to Asheville

By far the best B&B we've stayed in to date, resulting in an absolutely perfect stay. The Inn is elegant, beautiful, excellently appointed and wonderfully maintained. Rosemary and Fabrizio were incredible hosts who anticipated our every need, made great area-activity recommendations and provided superlative hospitality. We found it quite remarkable that they effortlessly anticipated and seamlessly blended personal interaction, comradery and privacy. The breakfasts and snacks were delicious, innovative and expertly prepared and served. First off, let me say that the pictures on the Albemarle's website are all wrong. This isn't, contrary to the pictures, grandma's house. We stayed in the Ribbons & Roses and found that, instead of the ribbons and roses with lots of lace and junk, we got a nice, clean, stately room with a brand new bathroom with walk-in shower. Second, let me say that this is a pretty awesome mansion, with quite the portico out front and large, spacious areas inside. None of the rooms were cramped or crowded (a common problem for older B&Bs). Third and finally, unlike many B&Bs that force you to eat breakfast at a specified time with strangers, this one, thankfully, does not. You get your own table, either on the enclosed porch or inside, by the fireplace, and breakfast is served whenever you sit down.

The Décor was like walking back into time. The room was pristine and the common areas were comfortable. We enjoyed our time at the Albemarle and plan to return one day when the gardens are in full bloom. Could not ask for a more welcoming greeting and the service was the best!

Fabrizio, Rosemary and their staff were the perfect hosts, the room very comfortable, food was excellent. We were given lots of information about different places to visit in the area. The house is positioned in a nice residential area with easy access to the town. We would stay there again. Margaret and Barry Lea, United Kingdom

Recently My Wife and I booked a night at the Albemarle Inn on our way to the Smokies. We found the House to be so nice till we called another Foursome of family members to join us for the evening at the Albemarle. What a great job of decoratings, we had to visit each of the eleven rooms and found all of them to be outstanding. When our other party members arrived we found them to be just as happy with their rooms as we were with outs. It was a great visit short but really nice, and I can assure you when we travel that way again, we will stay at the Albemarle Inn. Jerry Bass Jacksonville, Fl

My husband and I stayed there in August 2011. The place is wonderful, looks just like on the pictures. There is enough room to relax on the porch or inside the house. The breakfast outstanding, love the dinning setting. The bed was very comfortable. We just had a great time!

Our son gave us a get-a-way weekend for my birthday-Jan 6-9, 2011. We had the Inn to ourselves Thurs and Fri nights - other guest arrived on Sat. Sabrina and Tracy were fabulous and made us feel right at home. Great conversations at breakfast, too. The food each morning was fantiastic and the service was simply devine. The evening receptions were wonderful - when Sabrina prepared them just for us HA!. Then Sat eveing when others checked in - the cheese, crackers, fruit and wine was so enjoyable. Jim loved the hot spice drink, too. We had a wonderful weekend at a beautiful Inn - Thanks for making us feel special. Sabrina you were great. Enjoyed meeting the owners and Managers as well. We'll certainly tell our friends about your lovely home. The snow was extra special, too. Of course the snow followed us home that weekend. HAH. Albemarle Inn will always be highly recommended by us. Again, thanks for your southern hospitiality.

We chose the New Year weekend to visit Asheville and stay at the Albemarle Inn, and it became a home run in every way. The holiday season provided us the opportunity to enjoy in addition to the inn the Biltmore experience. All expectations of inn were exceeded. The owners were gracious hosts, serving breakfast each morning and offering assistance in planning evening dinners and venues. Our room was the perfect getaway; very quiet, plenty of room for sitting and reading, and a large bathroom. Its hard to leave when you feel spoiled with such great care and attention.

My husband and I celebrated our Anniversary & New Years at the Albemarle Inn. We were delighted with the warm, freindly and gracious staff at the Inn. We felt like we were at home from the minute we checked in and met the staff. Our Breakfast each morning was delightful and included several courses. An unlimited supply of coffee, teas and soft drinks were available at any time from the guest kitchen. If you want a relaxing, quiet, comfortable B & B, this is it. We will return very soon.

Several family members of my husband's family spent the night at Albemarle Inn right after Christmas. It is such a great place to stay for family gatherings. From the wine and snacks at 5 p.m. to the gourmet breakfast the next morning, everything was perfect. There are plenty of places to congregate and play games or just sit and chat. It was a very memorable experience and I hope to go back in the spring when we can take advantage of the glorious front porch! While we didn't get a chance to meet Larry, we met his wife Cathy. She is a very gracious owner and the other Albemarle Inn staff are warm and friendly as well.

Our second trip to this wonderful in still exceeded our expectations. It was the perfect romantic getaway. From the warm greeting of our Innkeeper Cathy, to the pampering amenities of our gorgeous guest room (complete with canopy bed) to the fabulous breakfast by the fire in the morning. Perfect from start to finish, we will definitely be back.

When we arrived a little after 5 p.m., there were hors d'oeuvres and wine being served which was perfect after a long day of driving. All were very good. The room was very clean and comfortable. We were able to connect to the internet with no problem. The B&B staff were very hospitable. Breakfast the next morning was absolutely delicious. It exceeded our expectations. We would certainly return to Albemarle if in the area in the future and would highly recommend a stay to anyone visiting the area.

The house, grounds and area are beautiful. there is a sun-porch for breakfast and a beautiful outside lanai for afternoon tea or wine. Appointed with every detail. The Blue Ridge Room is glorious. The bathroom is too "cutsey." Shower needs to be updated - more modern fixtures necessary.

We had a wonderful experience. The rooms were beautiful, everything was extremely clean and the food was delicious. The one thing I would suggest is to have breakfast earlier.

This inn is very comfortable and relaxing...a retreat in the city!!!! The staff were the best we have encountered at any B&B or hotel. They were friendly, attentive without being overbearing and antcipated needs beautifully. The veranda is lovely to sit on in the evening. The afternoon refreshments and morning breakfast were superb...Try the vanilla, berry tea in the afternoon, it is addictive!!! We were only there for 2 days but felt rejuvenated as if we'd been on vacation for a week.
