Intimate and Romantic - The 1900 Inn on Montford invites you to be our guest and discover bed and breakfast comfort and hospitality with a warmth and graciousness that is reminiscent of Biltmore's Gilded Age. The Inn has been lovingly and thoughtfully restored to create the inviting ambience of past splendor and elegance. The residence was designed in 1900 by Richard Sharp Smith, Supervising Architect for Biltmore House. Today it is an elegant AAA Four Diamond Bed and Breakfast furnished with English and American antiques dating from 1670 to 1910. All of our exquisite rooms have private ensuite baths, king size beds, and fireplaces. All bathrooms have showers. Four bathrooms have whirlpool baths and one a clawfoot tub. Griffin Cottage, our carriage house has three deluxe accommodations: the William Morris room and the Rossetti suite on the ground floor and the 1300 sq ft Cloisters as the entire second floor. Tumbled marble is used throughout for the floors and shower walls. All have separate showers with steam baths and two person whirlpools. The living room in the Cloisters features hand-carved paneling. All of Griffin Cottage is "pet friendly" with enclosed back gardens and "doggy trundle beds" in the ground floor rooms. All rooms have wired and wireless high speed Internet access.

We recently spent a few days in Asheville at the Inn on Montford. Willy and Shawnie were gracious hosts who bent over backwards to insure we had a relaxing stay. The breakfast was great and the room was wonderful. We had Zelda’s Retreat because there were three of us. It was so comfortable and could accommodate more people if necessary. The bathroom was to die for and it even had a private deck. Loved the people and loved the place!! I highly recommend the Inn and Asheville itself.

The Rosetti room was fantastic and the breakfast was superb! Breakfast was always delivered on time by friendly staff. Room had everything you could need and very clean. Owners provided great information on how to work various appliances in the room. They also provided restaurant recommendations to several places and they were spot on. Enjoyed the live music on the porch in the evening. Location is excellent to downtown Asheville. We will definitely stay here again in the future!

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon and couldn't have made a better choice. It is beautiful and extremely clean. I didn't find a speck of dust anywhere in the entire house. The decor was exactly what I wanted in a B&B. The room was more beautiful than what we expected from the photos (Fitzgerald room). We had a fireplace which was wonderful and the bathroom was very modern and contained spa like amenities. Upon finding out we were on our honeymoon, we had champagne and balloons waiting for us. Wine hour at 6pm was a nice treat prior to dinner and the organic live music on Saturday night was wonderful. No detail was spared. There were brownies in the afternoons and complementary bottled water and sodas, as well as Flavia coffee available at all times. We have already talked about going back!! Lynn and Ron are wonderful, engaging hosts. We are pleased to have spent time with them in their excellent B&B.

This Inn was a delightful stay for us and we will return in the future. The wine social hour is so enjoyable as you meet the otter guests as well as the owners. Breakfast each morning was delicious. The accommodations were beautiful and tasteful. We received great advise for restaurants and places of interest in Asheville and got our tickets to the Biltmore from Ron and Lynn. The grounds are manicured and you will want to check out the special character (dog)at the back of the house. His name is Madison and he gets excited when you walk by him. Do not miss this great Inn.

While I have stayed in a couple of B&B's with our daughters, this was the first time we enjoyed one as a couple. Thanks in large part to Lynn & Karen's graciousness, along with the inn's incredible accommodations, my husband is now sold on the whole concept of B&B's! We live in the Asheville area & my husband planned this as a surprise getaway where we could still be near our children should they have needed us. Staying in Zelda's Retreat we loved the wonderful suite, yummy, three course breakfasts, and the relaxing bath. A bonus was visiting during December with all the lovely Christmas decorations & lights. Highly recommended!

We took a couples weekend with several of our friends and stayed here. The inn was beautiful and wonderfully decorated for Christmas. All of the rooms were unique and the bedding was so comfortable I actually purchased some sheets when we left. The breakfasts were delicious and unique. They had a cocktail hour every evening and served wine and desserts, and on Saturday night, they had a live band come and entertain. I will definitely stay here again.

Great place with great service! Lynn and Karen were both very friendly and very accommodating. House is well kept and very clean. Enjoyed one evening with live music in the foyer while sipping on some local wine. We are already discussing our future visit back here at the 1900 Inn on Montford.

Perfect! We celebrated our 25th anniversary at the 1900 Inn on Montford in Asheville, NC. The owners, Lynn and Ron, are superior hosts. I felt as if we were honored guests at a country estate. They're genuine concern for their guests' comfort is obvious in everything they do. Every morning they serve a three course gourmet breakfast and in the evenings they host wine on their porch. Once or twice a week they hire musicians to entertain their guests. My husband enjoys live music and that was a real treat for us. The inn was very clean and beautifully decorated in a gender neutral style that appealed to both of us. The rooms are very spacious and the bathroom was to die for! We stayed in the Fitzgerald room and the pictures can't adequately show how fabulous the bedroom and bathroom are! We'll be back, for sure!
