Recently attended a wedding in the area. When traveling we always look for an inn with a historic past. The Nutmeg Inn exceeded all of our expectations. Centrally located, clean, engaging owners, every detail attended to, delicious breakfast, beautifully furnished. Definitely would stay there again. :)

I stayed here with my mum, after a long and scenic day driving around the lakes and mountains. It has the softest sheets, the most comfortable bed, the hosts are interesting and friendly people and best of all the place just has the most positive energy around it. It is a luxurious b&b in a perfect setting. Meredith is just a short drive away, with a range of gorgeous restaurants. The breakfast was DIVINE. I will definitely go back if I can. My family spent a couple nights here over labor day weekend. We arrived very late our first night, but Mark and Lynne had everything ready for us and the room was large enough for our family of four. Breakfast was amazing both mornings. The building has quite a history and I would try to spend a little more time there next trip. We all enjoyed Mark and Lynne's hospitality - definitely will be back!

Mark and Lynne go out of their way to make your stay relaxing and enjoyable. The room is clean and comfortable. The breakfast is tasty and full of special goodies from homemade bread and granola with yogurt to fruit and an egg dish to round things out. There is beer in the fridge, wine and baked snacks for an afternoon pick-me-up. The Nutmeg is a perfect B&B. We hope to return.

We recently stayed at the Nutmeg Inn to attend a wedding in Meredith NH. The Inn was very accommodating to our needs (arriving early). The Inn is very quaint. The pool looked inviting, and the grounds were very nice. Our room was spacious. We wished we had more time to enjoy it. Breakfast was good. They offered bread, yogurt, granola, fresh fruit and a baked treat. Very filling.Coffee and juice was also plentiful. They have a refrigerator to help yourself to water and other refreshments. The innkeepers were very friendly and made our stay more enjoyable. We'd stay here again.

I would recommend staying at the Nutmeg Inn! Owners were extremely courteous, friendly, and accommodating in every way! The Inn is very unique and the grounds are beautiful! Great breakfast too!

I visited the Nutmeg Inn 36 years ago, it was a Thanksgiving meal and a first date with my late husband. When looking for a place to stay in the lakes region, the Nutmeg Inn came to mind. I looked it up and was thrilled to see that it was still in business and running as a B & B. It is still a charming place in every way. Lynne and Mark were fantastic host, they truly go overboard to make your stay pleasant. The clean rooms, the quiet nights and the delicious breakfast were very much appreciated. I won't wait 36 years to go back. THANK YOU!

The Nutmeg Inn is a B&B filled with history and is an amazing property. The entire property was very clean and well kept. The owners provide special unadvertised extras and a wonderful breakfast! Will definitely return for a longer stay. --PSW

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Nutmeg Inn. The Inn keepers could not have been more welcoming and accommodating. The breakfast was first class and the history of the Inn is fascinating!

The Nutmeg B&B is relaxing and charming. The room decor takes you back in time. My room had both a working fireplace as well as an attached bathroom. Breakfast was so tasty and filling. You can tell that Lynne and Mark put a lot if love and care in their Inn. I would highly recommend a stay at the Nutmeg Inn. I know that I will be back!

Stayed here 2 years ago for a wonderful relaxing weekend, I was hesitant to stay here again because my expectations were pretty high. Needless to say I was wrong to think the 2nd time would be a let down. Another amazing and relaxing weekend. Owners Lynne and Mark are really the nicest people. The Nutmeg Inn is such a special place with a delicious breakfast! Looking forward to another weekend away here. Kelly W.

Staying at The Nutmeg Inn is like coming home to family. Lynne and Mark were so warm and welcoming. The house is pristine, the rooms impeccable, and the breakfast superb! I still miss the freshly baked loaf of bread that Mark made every morning. We loved it and will be returning again soon. Thank you Mark and Lynne for the awesome weekend.

We stayed Thanksgiving weekend 2015. The atmosphere, amenities and hospitality were wonderful. We love the area in the summer. This was our first late fall excursion and loved every minute of our 3 days there. The food was plentiful and delicious. Would definitely Reccomend to family and friends!

We loved everything about this place. The location is convenient, the nearby town of Meredith is cute, the inn was lovely, the innkeepers were the right balance of friendly and not up in your business, and the breakfast was great. Definitely go for a room with a fireplace.
5 on October 20, 2015
Lynne and Mark will make you feel welcome and at home right off the bat. First a tour of the Inn with historical narrative. Then to your room.....soft comfy beds and nicely decorated. The common room has a great fireplace with room for games right in front. A most impressive Scrabble board. Off that there is a billiard room and separate video/TV room. And their breakfasts are DEEEElicious. Not your run of the mill fare. Snacks, coffee, tea and beverage always at hand. Meredith and Winnipesaukee very close. Plenty to do and see in area. We stayed here to attend a wedding at Church Landing at Mill Falls. "We" were four young sixty-something couples, but, The Nutmeg would appeal to all ages. Quite a variety of guests too. There were guests from the States and the UK, China and Canada. I could add more but you're probably ending your attention zone so in closing....The Nutmeg is WELL worth a try.

My sister and I had a most delightful two-night stay at The Nutmeg Inn. Mark and Lynne were most kind, friendly, and accommodating. The food was hearty and out-of-this-world delicious. The premises were immaculate. It was the perfect choice for our first visit to the beautiful state of New Hampshire. An unforgettable experience.

Lynne and Mark are delightful hosts ... open, friendly, helpful, and stimulating conversationalists. Their Inn is truly a historic, pre-Revolution property, with a fascinating story, and they clearly are proud and responsible stewards of this wonderful old home. The bed in our spotless room was outstanding ... unusually comfortable, and the comforts and amenities are everything you could hope for in such a historic B&B. The common areas are beautifully appointed, comfortable, and serve to highlight the historical ambiance of the Inn. Oh, and their breakfast was really extraordinarily good. All in all, a top notch B&B ... a place that's on our list to return to!

Everything about our stay was amazing, the rooms were nice and cozy. The breakfast was amazing, homemade sourdough bread and oh the pancakes, the best I have ever had! Can't forget the service of the innkeepers, they made us feel right at home!

My husband and I were celebrating our wedding anniversary and a former guest recommended The Nutmeg Inn to us. From the start, Mark, Lynne, and their dog, Sophie made us feel welcome and relaxed. We arrived a few hours before check-in time, but no worries, Mark showed us around, explained the vast (and very interesting!) history of the property and let us into our room early. We continued to receive excellent treatment, recommendations, and kindness during our stay. The breakfast was good - although when I made reservations I indicated I ate sugar-free and there was French Toast on the menu - they were able to accommodate my request. Even when Mark and Lynne had to leave for a day during our stay, they left us in great hands - the former Innkeeper! I highly recommend this bed and breakfast, I only wished we stayed longer!

The owners, Lynne and Mark, made our stay great. They were so friendly and helpful. They helped with restaurant choices and made us reservations. They got up at 4:30 one morning to make sure coffee and a light breakfast was available for those of us participating in a local triathlon. The regular breakfasts were wonderful. Every morning Mark makes homemade sourdough bread. The snacks throughout the day are delicious! I know because I sampled every one! Spending time around the Nutmeg Inn was nice too. There is an unground pool and a nice deck to relax on outdoors. There is also a nice pool table and a bunch of board games to entertain you indoors. Our room wasn't one of the more expensive rooms but it was very large. We would highly recommend the Nutmeg Inn!

Amazing place, with great hosts, you will be living in 18th century with a royal breakfast. Loved everything about the stay from fresh homemade breads, and cookies to cozy(but not tiny) rooms. Ours had a separate entrance which was a plus if you want to have privacy. The Inn has lots of fireplaces and a pool table, that's an antique... There's a lot you can do in the area, so don't hesitate to try it out. Thanks again to Mark, Lynn and Sophie

Long weekend in the fall, after everything in the area has closed. Lynne and Mark still went above and beyond to provide us a memorable weekend. Any lodge can provide a clean bed and shower, but there needs to be that 'little more' that makes it stand out, and encourages you to return. This place has it. I can write words that describe Marks breakfast feast - you'll just have to try it yourself! See you next year!

We found The Nutmeg Inn by chance online and couldn't be more thrilled. We will absolutely return. Lynn and Mark are so lovely, helpful and warm. The home is a historic jem! Lynn and Mark go out of their way to make your stay wonderful - especially their homemade breakfast which is beyond compare. I took recipes home! Can't wait to go back!

The nutmeg inn was everything we hoped for and more. Mark was an outstanding host. Took us on a tour and talked about the history of the nutmeg when we arrived. The food was gourmet quality and very unique. I would highly recommend the nutmeg and hope to return someday! The rooms were cozy, comfortable and picture perfect!

Though co-host Mark was wearing a temporary shin cast, this inn is hardly dragging its feet when it comes to charm, entertainment, breakfast, service, and history. Mark's sly wit warms up the welcome, as does the red-felt pool table guests can enjoy. There's a nice one-mile forested residential loop one can take to work up a breakfast appetite--you'll need it!

We stayed at the Nutmeg for 2 days. The room was amazing - we had a fireplace and a nice bed. We got great dinner recommendations both nights, had lovely breakfast on both days, and could have coffee, tea, water, soda, and snacks anytime we wanted. The Inn is very historical and an interesting place, and Mark, the host, was great.

We stayed for two nights in the suite. The property is lovely, and the hosts even better. It's a nice Colonial property with a lot of history, nicely and cozily decorated. The place is quiet with pretty surroundings. The hosts are wonderful, and do everything to make sure you enjoy your stay and have everything you need. This includes fresh-cut flowers in your room, care-package breakfast (I had to leave at 5 am for a race), and they are so friendly and accommodating, I felt I was at home. I will go back next year. A++ experience all around! I wish I could have stayed longer.

We recently stayed overnight at this historic inn (our second visit) in the Thyme room, which was very spacious and comfortable (accommodated three of us). Mark was gracious and friendly as always and even prepared the breakfast we requested for our son's birthday (banana-stuffed French toast--yummy!). The cold fruit soup and homemade sourdough bread hot from the oven was superb! Mark, thanks for another great stay!

This little inn was very comfortable and welcoming, so much so that we wanted to move in permanently. From the beautiful room to the scrumptious breakfast, everything offered went above and beyond the normal level of quality of such a place. We would go back in a heartbeat.

We stayed at the inn for two nights this July and really enjoyed our visit. We stayed in the Rosemary room. It was very large and had a wonderful view of the yard and pool. The room itself was wonderful however the bathroom was very small with a vanity that seemed jammed in between the toilet and the shower. Also our room had one fire log but no matches in the container. The inn keepers were very nice and they even had a tray with just about anything you could have forgotten complimentary even though stores aren't far. The rooms and the common areas of the inn were very clean. I feel like if you had a group of people in separate rooms you could have a lot of fun in the common areas. If the room had a better bathroom situation I would say it would meet my expectations as far as value is concerned but the bathroom being tiny made the room seem overpriced. As for the food, it was pretty tasty. Fresh homemade bread and granola, cinnamon buns, fruit with some kind of cream dollop, and an egg casserole. It was all very good though the casserole had a bit more in it than I'd have liked and didn't seem to have much egg.

This place is beautiful! We were greeted by Mary, the most helpful and energetic person you would ever want to meet. She showed us all around and told us lots of history about the inn. The owners of the inn are warm and welcoming as well. We had the Teaberry room. This room has its own private entrance out to a deck. It was decorated in white wicker. Very lovely and romantic. The food was incredible. There was so much of it as well. They even had snacks out during the day if you needed a little something to nibble. We loved this place.

My wife and I planned a long awaited vacation to New England and chanced upon the Nutmeg Inn. It was a wonderful find. Mark, the Innkeeper went out of his way to call and check on our arrival time and plans. We arrived well before dinner and had plenty of time to learn the history of the Nutmeg Inn and its amazing past. Mark was awesome and a pure gentleman. We felt like long friends before we left. The breakfast we had cannot be given describe with any success. It must be only experienced. Mark awakes at 4:30 to make fresh bread each morning, and that was just part of the 4 courses of delight. We will be back when we adventure out this way. LOVED IT..thats all I can say

My fiance and I stayed two nights (mid-week) at this lovely B&B. Just finding that the structure is 250 years old blew me away! Improvements and structural maintenance have been carried out over the years, but the integrity of the Inn is phenomenal - such as original hand-hewn beams on the ceiling and original hardwood flooring. Each evening there was a beautiful fire in the main (original) fireplace where we could sit and play games or just relax. Our room was lovely with a very comfortable bed. I felt very "at home". I think it was named "Cinnamon". Mark, the proprietor, was a great guy. He was very warm and funny, always wearing his Hawaiian shirt! His cooking was great and creative as well! He always had homemade bread available along with other homemade snacks and drinks. The grounds are beautiful and we were a short drive to various towns and antique stores. I would definitely go here again maybe in the summer when I could enjoy the pool! We were there this fall to enjoy nice weather and beautiful fall foliage!

We stayed in the Parsley room for one night over leafing season. The owner of the property greeted us on arrival and gave us a very interesting history of the house. We were delighted to be offered free hot coffee, apple cider, home-made muffins and bottles of beer that are available to all guests. They have a beautiful pool table and we enjoyed playing on it. There is also a smaller TV room and board games available for entertainment. After the tour, we were shown our room which was probably the smallest in the house and furthest distance from the main entrance. The room was charming with nice bedding and sheets. The only thing we noticed was that the bathroom is very small - about the size of a very narrow hallway. We didn't take a shower there because it was too small. We liked the fact that they offered very nice toiletries though - and if you forget your toothbrush or toothpaste they have plenty. Breakfast is served relatively early for us - between 8-9:30am, although you can sit and stay past 9:30am at your leisure. You sit on communal dining tables and are served a few courses of what the kitchen has to offer. We loved the freshly baked bread and assortment of juices. The main meal was a sausage baked into a pancake served with maple syrup - a special recipe. We enjoyed breakfast - however we would have loved to eat some eggs, bacon, or vegetables which were not offered. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would come back. There is a lot to do in Meredith and the scenery is spectacular. The value for your money is also very good.

Lynne and Mark are simply outstanding hosts. The house is beautifull and incredibly well kept. Quality bed and linens (and we stayed in ginger which is one of their smaller rooms). Very copious breakfast. I don't really see what else we could ask for. Too bad we stayed there only one night. We'll be back!

An outstanding structure built before the US independence. Most important are the beds which are great. The owners care for detail far exceeds what you would find at your typical B&B. A fire in the fireplace morning and night adds to the ambiance. Better visit quickly before the local beer provided in the frig is gone.. .Don't be afraid to talk technical with the hostess. She is a retired scientist.
