At Bernerhof no two rooms are a like, it's not a cookie-cutter like you would get at a resort or hotel. The floor was uneven in the room, but the two person whirpool tub with rainfall shower more than made up for it. Breakfast and dinner were both amazing. As were the daily pastry they set out in the lobby. The staff were sweet and funny. It was a rainy weekend, but my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

My wife and I visited for a Valentine's Day getaway and had a great time. The room was nice, owners were friendly, and breakfast was delicious. It was our first time at a B&B and in the evening to our pleasant surprise the owner went out of his way to engage the guests. He got a game of Catch Phrase and then Cards Against Humanity going, which was a ton of fun. All in all a wonderful stay. Only downside was I had made a special request / reservation for some extras and unfortunately they were not in the room on check-in. We will definitely return.

We had a great time at the Bernerhoff, the innkeeper was exceptionally friendly and attentive but not overly so. The food was amazing and we totally enjoyed the breakfast every morning! The rooms were a bit small and it was hard to get comfortable to watch television (for those that still like the news) as there was only one char in the room. This is very conveniently located near so many wonderful sites that can be explored or to just go shopping in North Conway! We gave the cleanliness of the room a bit of a thumbs down due to dirt/dust under the dresser and the tub needed to be wiped out before usage.

Inn keepers were very friendly, breakfast was delicious. And the cute little goody bag upon checkout was a very nice touch. We even made use of the on-site car charger!

We were looking for a one night get-away and stumbled upon the perfect inn! We were warmly welcomed by Roberta and Carla, a mother and daughter team that were a delight and such fabulous cooks. We stayed in Room 1 right off the front lobby which we thought might be too noisy but, to our surprise, was not at all. Drinks (there's a full bar) were had in front of the fire. Dinner was delicious and reservations are a must. A three course menu is offered and is limited but varied. They were very willing to substitute or make allowances for dietary restrictions or preferences. Lemon water, coffee and tea are always available along with homemade cookies in the afternoon and homemade muffins (including a vegan option) in the morning for the early risers. There were three choices for breakfast (Denver omelette with homemade biscuit and home fries, choc chip pancakes, Chorizo burrito) and were proceeded by yogurt and fresh fruit. We were so stuffed! There is a nature trail on the premises with snowshoes you can borrow and a spa on site. They also have an agreement with Great Glen Trails so our cross country skiing was free. What a nice perk! Upon our departure, we were presented with a gift bag containing cookies, granola, and bottles of water for the ride home. How thoughtful was that?! We will follow Roberta and Carla where ever they go. It was a wonderful night away!

Carla and Roberta were warm and welcoming hosts. We were greeted with a smile, offered a quick tour of the home, and shown our room. Our room was lovely--spotless, pretty, and complete with a sweet decorative fireplace and a fabulous bathroom. We decided to dine in and enjoyed our Crab Cakes and Cobb Salad. Scamp was kind and attentive as she served dinner and mixed up the cocktails for guests. Carla had baked the world's best sea salt chocolate chip cookies, which were laid out for our enjoyment in the dining/common room area. In the morning, we were treated to fresh coffee, orange juice, yogurt parfait, and Eggs Benedict with a creamy, tangy Hollandaise sauce. All was delicious. We were sent on our way home with a generous goodie bag that included homemade cookies, a cup of mixed nuts, and two bottles of water. We had a wonderful time and I wish Carla and Roberta all the best.

This was my first time staying at a bed and breakfast and I was very hesitant at first, but it was an amazing experience! The Bernerhof is in one of the best locations on Route 302. It is close to skiing, shops, restaurants, trails for hiking, snowshoeing, etc. (Less than 10 minute's for all of these activities). It is also close to Mount Washington. As for the Inn itself, we stayed in a first floor room next to the kitchen (no noise from the kitchen at all!). There was a very cute fireplace and jacuzzi tub. It also came with a California King bed, which was amazing! We had access directly outside, which was nice with the snowy weather. Due to the weather, they had chili for us at no extra cost so there was no need to trek outside. They also offered cocktails later that night. The Inn was gorgeous and every one was extremely helpful and nice. We definitely will be staying here again!

This as our first time staying here and we were delighted with our choice. Our room was upgraded upon arrival. Steve was fantastic, so informative and fun. The breakfast each morning was amazing and we enjoyed being able to have a glass of wine in the Black Bear Pub. Oh and of course we loved our guided hike with holly. We look forward to going back and checking out their murder mystery weekend.

We stayed at the Berherhof B&B during a recent trip to see the fall foliage in NH, and could not have been more pleased with our choice! From the moment we walked in the front door, we knew we chose the right place to stay. Steve greeted us at the door, took us on a tour of the inn, and gave us fantastic meal recommendations for dinner. The accommodations both in our room and in the common areas are beautiful, comfortable, and clean! We enjoyed some time hanging out in the living room with other couples also staying at the inn... and Steve had both evening snacks (yummy), 24x7 coffee/tea available, and even an honor bar should guests over 21 want it. The breakfast the next morning was the best we had on our trip to Maine & NH. We had our choice of 3 entrees expertly prepared onsite by Steve and his family, enjoyed fantastic coffee, and enjoyed nice warm showers and the heat from our in-room fireplace! We will most definitely choose the Bernerhof next time we are in the White Mountains of NH!

Highly recommend the Bernerhof Inn - we took a two week trip from VA to NY - CT -MA - RI - ME - NH - VT - NY - Niagra Falls - PA., we stayed in mostly Bed and Breakfasts and the Bernerhof Inn was our favorite. The price - the service - the room and the food. The Breakfast was the literally the best we had on the entire trip. We had hoped to stay longer but it was booked. I would highly recommend staying - even for one night.!! And don't miss the breakfast.!!!

I'm not typically a B&B kind of traveler, In this case, I found the experience exceptional. The owner Steve is a wonderful host and is always working to make his guests happy. Steve aided in our regional travel and exploration agenda. He is a cool fellow that aimed to please. The accommodations were perfect and comfortable. The breakfast was made to order, and delicious. They had treats sitting out including cookies and caramel apples. It was just a wonderful stay.

My wife and I stayed overnight at the Bernerhoff Inn. We loved it and plan to return. Steve was a fabulous host and sent us to a great dinner right up the road. When we returned, we had a glass of wine outside around the fire pit and went inside to warm up even more in the hot tub bath in our room. We truly enjoyed visiting with Steve and breakfast was amazing!!!

Our two night stay at The Bernerhof Inn was a breath of fresh air. We left our three kids (under the age of 7) with the grandparents and came here for some freedom and luxury. Every moment of our stay was decadent, indulgent and utterly relaxing. We stayed in the Fryeburg Suite and took advantage of the whirlpool tub. The food was impeccable, and Steve was a hoot and a half. We had planned on hibernating for two days but he made everything so welcoming we couldn't resist coming out and partaking in afternoon snacks, and watching the presidential debate with everybody. This is my new happy place, and I don't think too much time will pass before we visit again.

My wife and I spent a couple nights at the Bernerhof for our honeymoon and couldn't have been happier with our stay. Steve, Katey and the family were incredibly professional yet warm and inviting. We had a very nice stay at the Bernerhof. We were immediately greeted upon arrival by Steve, who enthusiastically gave us a tour of the facilities, and provided some great recommendations as to nearby activities. He helped us arrange a reservation at a popular local restaurant as well. The dining/bar area is very cosy, and provides a wonderful breakfast as well as a nice alternative eat-in choice. We'll be back next time we're in the White Mountains!

We stayed in the Madison Boulder room and it was outstanding! The room was very clean and welcoming. The two person whirlpool tub with overhead skylight was romantic and just what was needed after a strenuous hike. the B&B is very well run and the hosts will make any effort to make your stay more comfortable. They are extremely helpful in giving advice on what to do, where to go and how to best enjoy the wonderful white mountains. Breakfast is delicious and freshly made, it varies every day. The only downside is that the B&B is located at the main traffic route 302 which may be noisy. But certainly a place to stay!!!

Even though we only stayed for one night at the Bernerhof Inn, we felt at home from the moment we checked in. My husband and I recently stayed at the Bernerhof Inn and we really enjoyed our stay. When we arrived, we were greeted by the world's most well trained and friendliest dog. What stood out to us most was the kindness of the owners. They are so cheerful and welcoming and you almost feel like they are old friends that you are reconnecting with. The Inn is lovely and has a very cozy and comfortable feel to it. Breakfast was utterly delightful and the staff is so respectful and likable. Katey and Steve are pros and they run a wonderful business. The only constructive criticism that I would have, and its more of a personal preference than anything, is that we do not care for carpeting and the Inn is covered in it. I do believe it is that way to keep noise levels down, but the Inn smells fresh and is clean, so unless carpeting in general gives you a problem, you should be fine. My husband is very asthmatic so he got a little stuffed up. Without reservation I would recommend the Bernerhof Inn to anyone looking for a superb getaway.

We celebrated our 44 th anniversary at this special inn and loved every minute there. The hosts, Steve and Katey, have warm and genuine personalities and are so very accommodating. And their rescue dog Holly is a gem! The room was spacious and well appointed. Food was served in a cozy dining area and the choices were excellent. There was always tea, coffee and some cold beverage available as well as cookies or scones. Location was also a plus....being near enough to outlets or The Mt Washington area, but far enough away from crowds. We would definitely stay there again and will let our friends and family know about this treasure!

This was our second stay at the Bernerhof and Steve made it even better than the first. We stayed in the 'Intervale' room this time and it was quaint and quiet. Breakfast is always delicious and their muffins/cake in the morning are really a treat. Fires on a warm summer night and a chance to talk with other guests makes this a place that I always want to come back to.

Had a great time at the Bernerhof inn for the mystery weekend. Steve did a great job bringing a diverse group together the first night with 'cards against humanity.' I cannot say enough about the great people I met (both staff and other vacationers). Great fun, a relaxed atmosphere and a beautiful environment. Kerry even made us cookies when we were hanging around getting costumes ready for the spy game Saturday.

My husband and I wanted to do something special for our 20th wedding anniversary, so we decided to splurge on a bed & breakast experience- our first one. We were NOT disappointed. We were able to book one of the larger rooms with a king size bed (the most comfortable mattress and pillow I've ever enjoyed). We had the extra bonus of our own private entrance from the lovely front porch, which overlooks a lush and fragrant garden. I loved the chance to soak in the whirlpool tub before bed! We also booked the package that included dinner both nights - and that was a great choice, too. We knew we could decide to eat elsewhere if we changed our minds, but after our first night's dinner, we were sure we'd be back the second night. My husband's quest to find the perfect meatball ended at the Bernerhof, and it hadn't been on the menu with the delicious lasagna - it was just a bonus! Chef Rene also made us excellent steak tips, crab cakes, ribs, and schnitzel. The full breakfast each morning was a real treat (made by our tireless innkeeper and served by his friendly staff), coffee was always available all day, and homemade baked goods appeared in the afternoons. We were spoiled for sure - and never hungry! Our Innkeeper, Steve, could not have been more hospitable, gracious, and helpful. We knew we could ask him for anything - he was all about serving and welcoming his guests. He recommended where we could go to enjoy easy, scenic walks and drives, and we spent our Saturday following his instructions. It was a relaxing and memorable weekend for my husband and me, and we will absolutely make another visit.

After a longtime I mean longtime patron of Attitash, recent changes left well. I read comments, have passed by at Night (wow), so decided to try. From the moment we arrived you will feel welcomed, and peaceful. Our hosts were beyond superb, true innkeepers. Our accommodations were spectacular, we did peek a view at others and the themes were spot on. The inn was a wonderful wandering in with reading nooks, a nature walk beginning right next to the Eco electric vehicle charging station soon to lost in the woods..but wait the "Inn Dog", quickly arrived to be our guide. The breakfast portion was also excellent with a European touch. Cannot wait to return maybe as a murder mystery guest or just for some most appreciated peace and comfort.

Before I get to my review, I want to mention that I have never written a review about any hotel or bed and breakfast prior to my stay at the Bernerhof Inn. That being said, after the great time and awesome experience that my girlfriend and I had, I felt it was only right to relay our experience to others that may be thinking of staying at this top notch bed and breakfast. My girlfriend and I stayed at the inn the first weekend of February 2016. Immediately when we arrived, we knew this would be our kind of place as we were greeted by Holly, a very friendly dog belonging to the owner/inn keeper Steve. Being dog lovers ourselves we thought this was a great touch and Holly immediately showed us to the front door. Once inside we found the ambience to be warm and inviting, as was the owner Steve who gave us a tour and some of the history of the inn. When we got to our room, we were pleasantly surprised at the size of our suite. The suite had both a bedroom and a living room, along with a jacuzzi tub. We could not have been more happy with the set up. In addition to the accommodations, the brunch was amazing. It makes sense since there is a functioning cooking school at the inn. Needless to say we were both thrilled with our meals. At the end of our stay we took a short hike on one of the nature trails on the inn property. We were happy to be joined by Holly on our walk, reminding us of our dog at home! We would both highly recommend the Bernerhof Inn and plan to stay there in the future. Matt and Jessica

My husband and I tend to buy a weekend escape as a Christmas gift for each other.. and we are so thrilled to have discovered the Bernerhof Inn. He is an avid hiker, so any excuse to be in the Whites is a good one! And I love good food and good company, so this Inn suited us both supremely! The accommodations are perfect- comfortable, private, and with personal touches galore. There is ample tech availability, with Wi-Fi, iPads for each room, and iMacs and printers throughout the inn. Immediately upon arrival we were greeted by Steve, who made us feel like old friends. We made ourselves at home, and then we visited the Black Bear Pub (which is too cozy for words) and right away met another couple with similar interests, and scheduled the Bretton Woods Canopy (ZipLine) Tour for the end of the weekend. After an evening out, we returned to warm ourselves by roaring outdoor fire, and then back to our little oasis. During the weekend, we enjoyed two fantastic breakfasts and a delicious dinner- and have the highest of praises for the Chef!!! We had plenty of fuel for our weekend activities. Words cannot express how much we enjoyed our stay at the Inn, and how much we look forward to the next visit!

AMAZING! Another wonderful weekend at the Bernerhof Inn B&B. Steve is the best! You can tell he genuinely cares about each and every guest. We always enjoy our time spent at the Inn. After a day of skiing and shopping, dinner at the Black Bear Pub, right there at the Inn, was amazing! The food and drinks were delicious! And breakfast each morning was made to order. With fresh fruit, yogurt, pastry, coffee, tea, etc. Steve and Chef Cheryl really took care of us! Connecting with other guests was so much fun too! Crossword puzzles, Cards Against Humanity! It was such a hoot to make new friends!! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! Can't wait to get back up there and enjoy some more quality time at this lovely Inn and, more importantly, with Awesome Steve!! Thanks again for a wonderful weekend! :) Love, Catherine and Paul (crossword master)

I chose the Bernerhof Inn based on the positive reviews I saw online and wasn't disappointed. My girlfriend and I only stayed for one night but we loved every minute of it. The room was clean and comfortable. We wanted to have a romantic night away and that is exactly what we got. The grounds were quiet and relaxing and the owner and staff were very personable and friendly. Since we left my girlfriend has made me promise that we get to back there and stay longer. If you are looking for a place to stay in North Conway you would be hard pressed to find a better spot.

Just returned from a 2-night stay at the Bernerhof Inn B&B. It definitely felt like a home away from home. Steve is gregarious, an outstanding host, extremely knowledgeable of the area, and made our stay a memorable one. Oh, and the breakfast was absolutely delicious along with the after pastry and cookies. The Bernerhof Inn is on the top of our "must return" list.

We stayed this past weekend at Bernerof Inn and it was one of the best rooms we've experienced. My wife and I actually had reserved one of the lower tier rooms but we were upgraded to a Suite at no extra charge. Steven didn't mention it but I assume it was an etiquette move in front of my wife. Bernerof was one of the most relaxing stays we've ever had on a getaway, even when including our honeymoon experience earlier in the summer. The inn had a lot of wonderful amenities, some of which weren't for us but we appreciated seeing anyhow. A complementary charging station for green drivers for instance was really nice to see There was onsite massage therapy and a really large jacuzzi tub (in our room) that we regret not trying out. Steven was really a great host, very friendly and did a good job making everyone feel welcome during meal times. My only wish is that the beer were a bit more extensive at the bar, and perhaps portion sizes on meals. Food was really delicious once you got more adventurous with your choices. I feel bad even complaining even slightly though. The stay was amazing. I'd recommend it to others as well as my friends, and would love to go back sometime.

We spent the day up in North Conway and stayed over that night at the Bernerhof. The owner was very pleasant, the room was very nice, and breakfast was amazing. Definitely would recommend this as a place to stay.

We stayed 2 nights arriving on Friday afternoon and were greeted vey warmly by the innkeeper Steve. The food service is outstanding and the overall atmosphere is fantastic. The two items we noticed regarding the room were that it needs another chair and the room wasn't cleaned during the stay. Not huge items but worth mentioning.

My husband and I stayed here last weekend, and out of the handful of B&Bs we've frequented near and around the North Conway area, this is our absolute favorite! We had taken a long hike at the White Mountains and spending a night at Bernerhoff Inn was exactly what we needed before making our way back to Boston. Steve was a very gracious host and although we didn't get to meet Katey, her radio station provided beautiful music during the evening hours which added to the warm ambience. We were so impressed with their attention to detail in providing comfort for their guests. We also particularly enjoyed the food and wine -- from the baked treats and coffee to the freshly made meals by the Black Bear Pub. Thank you Steve and Katey for a wonderful stay! We certainly hope to make another visit in the next year!

The Bernerhof Inn Bed and Breakfast is a delightful place to stay. The Inn itself is beautiful and welcoming. Steve and Katey are friendly, helpful and and warm people. The amazing breakfasts Steve creates are a culinary delight. We also enjoyed the spa services. If you are looking for treat, look no further, the Bernerhof Inn has it all.

My husband and I had a wonderful weekend at this beautiful bed and breakfast. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was very positive and engaging. We are looking forward to returning again and again. My husband is even excited about going back to Bernerhof Inn which is saying a lot as he was very reluctant to go due to our history with other bed and breakfasts in the past. We have recommended this Inn to several of our friends and they plan on going with us next time.

Bernerhof Inn is the perfect get-away spot! My husband and I had the best time here. We instantly felt right at home when Steve greeted us. Our room was so cozy and clean. The dining was delicious, and we experienced both breakfast and dinner there. They also have a top-notch bar that we frequented during our stay. We would recommend staying at the Bernerhof Inn during your time in the gorgeous White Mountains!

We stayed at the Inn for three nights in mid Oct. The weather had changed to cold but the Inn was warm and cosy. Steve, the proprietor was always on hand to answer any questions and also offered lots of advice. We were a little disappointed with our room as it was quite small and didn't have a table not much space to put things. I did have a sneaky look at other rooms when doors were opened, which far exceeded ours. We had a large double bath with over head shower. Being a short person, I found it very difficult getting in and out as it was very deep.We thoroughly enjoyed our drinks in the bar each evening with the fire on. We ate at the Inn on a couple of occasions and it was good. Steve's cookies for afternoon tea/coffee are delicious too! The best! We will definitely return to the Inn when next in the area but will ask for a different room.

Another great stay at The Bernerhof. Katey and Steve continue to be outstanding hosts. After an afternoon of driving and an arrival right at dinner time and even though it was a Tuesday when dinner is not normally served, I was treated to a wonderful meat ball stew preceded by a scotch on ice, just to take the edge off. You can also rely on your Bernerhof hosts to give you the best in recommendations for local activities and restaurants. looking very much forward to my next visit!

Staying at the Bernerhof was part of our anniversary trip through New England. We could not have been made more welcome. Steve was fantastic - we truly felt we were staying at a friend's home, and we were treated wonderfully. We loved Holly - hope she is well. There was great attention to detail, and our comfort was definitely a priority. Steve was extremely knowledgeable about the area, and gave us some great ideas on where to visit and things to do. The food was fantastic - love you, Chef! Zip lining at Breton Woods was incredible! We would definitely come back. Love you guys! Mallory & Hall Robertson

My husband and I stayed at the Bernerhof Inn for a long weekend to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. Steve is very welcoming and is a great host. We ate in the pub on our first night and the dinner was excellent, however the breakfast the following morning was even better! A choice for every taste. The location is close to so many outdoor activities that it makes it difficult to chose what to visit. We will definitely be back!

Wow! What a great first impression! Arriving after dark, we drove up to the Bernerhof Inn in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, and the outdoor fire pit was beautifully lit, all of the lights in the house were on, and the weather was crisp and cool. What a beautiful sight! Steve, the owner, greeted us when we arrived and was an incredible host throughout our stay. We had so much fun visiting with him throughout the stay as he provided us with great recommendations for sights to see in the area. Politics aside, we arrived back to the Inn after having dinner elsewhere, and hung out in the Black Bear Pub, having great cocktails, and had quite a fun time watching the presidential debate and enjoying our time with Steve and other guests. Our room was wonderfully comfortable and beautifully decorated. My only regret is this southern couple could not have enjoyed this incredible Inn for several more days (time did not allow). Would return in a heartbeat! Steve has a gift of hospitality and we feel we have made a new friend.

We had a fantastic time (my mother and I) at Bernerhof Inn. Steve greeted us and lugged our suitcases upstairs where we discovered a beautiful suite. We loved the historic touches throughout the inn and the homey feel. We ate supper at the Black Bear Pub at the inn enjoying the chicken schnitzel. The beds were super comfortable. In the morning we had four choices of entrees for breakfast with a substantial amount of food- we could not finish it all. We especially enjoyed the personal, friendly nature of the inn. When my mother left a few things, they went out of their way to look for the items. We definitely would stay there again and hope that life brings us back that way.

The rooms are incredible, stunningly styled, and comfortable. Innkeeper Steve is hilarious and very helpful. He assisted in helping my sister and I plan day activities and even scheduled a reservation at an awesome area restaurant. Don't miss the massages, you won't want them to stop and leave you feeling so relaxed. We did not have any meals during our stay however; there are afternoon and breakfast home made treats. They are so yummy! I plan to stay again in the future and I would recommend the Bernerhof Inn Bed & Breakfast to everyone looking for a beautiful place to stay within the beautiful White Mountains. Thank you so much Steve and Katie!

Stayed one night, really made us feel at hime. Great recommendations for local restaurants and attractions, a nice bonfire to watch the lunar eclipse, and a good night's sleep in a historic (and some say haunted) old inn. Exceptional gourmet breakfast the next day, and more great ideas for routes to our next destination. Recommended!

I had the absolute pleasure of staying at the Bernerhof Inn as part of a long weekend in New Hampshire. I can't say enough good things about my stay here. The Innkeepers Steve and Katey are outstanding, and the work they put into all the details that make this such a special place is amazing. The Inn itself is beautiful, welcoming and cozy. The classy onsite bar is a fantastic touch, and the cooked to order breakfast was amazing. The location couldn't be any better, a nice drive to Mt Washington and nearby plenty of restaurants, pubs and things to do. Theres also a walking trail right behind the inn as well as board games, or chatting with friendly folks around the fire outside, or cozy fireplace in the pub. The inn well exceeded my expectations and I can't wait to go back..with the events they have it's a destination in itself!

2015 foliage tour so location of Inn is great. Our room had two flights of stairs to get to our room which can be a drawback if you have lots of language. Another issue is they keep flood lights shining on the building all night long which means you room is not entirely dark at night even with all the curtains drawn. Steve was very friendly and helpful with everything. Breakfast was very good especially the ginger bread waffle with brandied apple compote.

My husband and I recently got married at the Bernerhof, and we could not have been happier with the entire experience! As soon as we walked in, we felt at home. Everyone was so warm and friendly that it felt like we had known them forever. Steve greeted us warmly and gave us a tour of the inn. We checked in early, and were not expecting our room to ready but it was. We spent much of the weekend with our families in the pub and seating area. It was charming and cozy, and Kathy the bartender was sweet and funny. The food was AMAZING. Perhaps the best breakfast we’ve ever had. Holly, the resident puppy, is a big sweetie who made up for us missing our own dog that weekend! She even showed us the nature trail in the back of the property. For the wedding ceremony itself, you would think we were the only guests staying there given how far above and beyond they went to make it special. They rearranged and redecorated the sitting room just for our ceremony. We had a semi-private area for dinner afterwards. The food for dinner after the ceremony was outstanding. They worked with me a few weeks before the wedding to make sure the menu met the preferences and dietary restrictions of us and our families. Whenever possible, we were told where the food came from and the story behind it (for example, the cake came from a woman who runs a spaghetti restaurant but also make amazing wedding cakes). Honestly, we could not have asked for a better experience, and were so impressed by the Bernerhof and everyone there. We will be going back for our anniversary next year!

Very centric for day trips to different areas of the White Mountains. Multiple loops that bring you back to the Inn at the end of your day. Rooms are large and clean. We chose the bernerhof as part of our honeymoon trip. We wished we had booked two nights. The home is breathtaking, everything from the antique family heirlooms to the 2 year old pup that leads you on a wooded walking path, it's perfection. Our room had an extremely comfortable bed and a two person hot tub. We are big people and we comfortably could enjoy the whirlpool tub. The breakfast was very good. Everything was very tasty and we were so happy we called in our way back through to stay again. Steve and his wife have done a great job. We highly recommend! We will definitely be back. It's also not far from town and the scenic rail. Great location, beautiful home and run with extreme care. We loved it!

A wonderful and relaxing inn! Steve was very welcoming upon my arrival - I felt like I had an instant best friend! I enjoyed a locally-crafted, delicious brown ale from the darling Black Bear Pub, and sitting by the outside fire while meeting other guests was the perfect day's end to my post-dinner arrival. After a full day of hiking, I thoroughly enjoyed the cooking class with farm-to-table cuisine - what a 5-course feast...and Steve made sure the wine was flowing! The next day, I was pampered with a message after another full day of hiking. The room was colored in tones of blue, with beautiful stained-glass windows, allowing for just the right amount of nature's light. If you're wondering what to do during the day or evening, Steve always has some great suggestions. My room was quite spacious, offering every ammenity! The breakfasts were divine, but "Clare's Wild Blueberry Pancakes" were heavenly! Bernerhof caters to your every whim! I was sorry to leave after 3 nights...

Steve and the Bernerhof Inn made our mini vacation to the White Mountains an unforgettable experience. The huge room with a big 2 person whirlpool tub was sparkling clean, well furnished and very comfortable. The cooked to order hot breakfasts with other guests were delicious and included 4 choices, something you don't often get in a B&B. The gatherings around the campfire at night made for great conversations with other guests and the convenient location near North Conway, Mt Washington, Ski mountains, etc. etc was perfect. We loved our 2 day stay that included one of the traditional Farm to Table cooking classes with a local chef in a group setting. The sour cream ice cream, fruit tart, Salmon appetizer, organic Chicken and special salad dressing were fun to make and delicious for our dinner after the class. What FUN!!! Did I mention we saw a Moose on Rt. 302 This place is a home run!!!

From the first phone call to the first time we saw the building to the tour we loved the Inn. Then we saw the room, AMAZING, my girlfriend loved it. The staff was very nice and inviting. Steve was eager to talk motorcycles and showed us a great route to take away from traffic. No doubt in my mind this was the place to purpose, and the staff was very helpful in making it perfect, we will definitely be making this an annual getaway.

Steve was so welcoming! Food was unbelievable! And their dog Holly that's guides you on a nature hike was so precious! Will definitely be coming back!
5 on September 08, 2015
Our goals for a two night stay in the White Mountains was to get a feel for the area, drive up Mount Washington and ...see a Moose. The choice of a B&B or INN was secondary. Now that we accomplished all our goals we realize that The Bernerhof was the best choice in a remote home we could have chosen. The breakfasts were spectacular, the room was sparkling clean, large and had an excellent bed with and enormous whirlpool tub in a huge bathroom. The ability to sit around a fire pit at night sharing stories with other guests made us feel completely welcome and at home. As a bonus we took the famous cooking class with a local chef that included a gourmet dinner at the end that we had prepared along with a nice white wine to help us in our cooking chores. Steve and his family know how to run this place and next time and I guarantee there will be a next time we'll use the Spa Services also located on the property. And yes, we saw a Moose about 20 miles away on Rt. 302.

We would particularly like to complement Steve on his hospitality. He went out of his way to make us feel at home. We felt very welcomed and truly enjoyed our stay. The room and common areas were very comfortable. The honor bar was a nice touch and allowed us to relax after long days exploring the White Mountains. Breakfast was just right and the flexible seating times were very convenient. Steve's recommendations about what to see and where to eat were spot on. We also enjoyed casual conversations with Steve on a variety of topics including his pickle and beet canning methods. We will certainly return on our next visit to the area.

My husband and I stayed one evening at the Bernerhof Inn. We attended a farm to table cooking class through their Taste of the Mountains cooking school....the chef, instruction and food were fantastic! Our room (#5) was very spacious and we didn't have any problems with the road traffic, however we did have the air conditioner running the entire evening. We spent that night enjoying drinks by the fire pit with the others guests. There was a good mix of guests from MA, NH and FL. The location was very convenient to the hike we had planned for the next day. We left wishing we had booked for a second evening. The entire experience was welcoming and friendly and we would recommend it to anyone looking for a social B & B getaway.

Katey and Steve were excellent hosts. The inn was clean and the room was large with a space-heater fire place, plus a jacuzzi. The breakfast was delicious with 3-4 options that you could choose each day. An "honesty policy" bar was fully stocked with craft beers, premium liquors, wine, and champagne. There were complimentary baked goods that guests were welcome to throughout the day as well. The inn is located in a nice clearing with a fire pit outside that Steve prepared for us one evening. Really great people that run a great bed & breakfast. I definitely would stay there again!

My wife, two sons and I recently stayed at the Bernerhof Inn for a Saturday night. We had done a rappelling tour that day, and arrived to the inn at about 6:00PM. We were warmly greeted by Steve, who gave us a quick tour of the beautifully renovated inn, and then showed us to our room. We stayed in the Jackson Suite, which has a connecting room with a trundle bed for the boys to sleep on. The room was nicely appointed. Quick showers and we headed down to the Black Bear Pub for some dinner. Kathy, our server, was very friendly and attentive. The food was delicious, far exceeding our expectations for a small inn. The atmosphere was quaint, with other inn guests dining around us and music from a local radio station in the background. After dinner the boys retired to their trundle bed to watch a little TV, and my wife and I enjoyed the lounge area for a nightcap and checked out the small selection of board/card games. We all slept very well in comfortable beds that night. No disturbance by a local black bear who apparently tries to get into the dumpster every night (ask Steve and he can share stories and pictures). Went back to the Pub the next morning at 8:30 for a wonderful breakfast. Eggs Benedict and pumpkin pancakes. Need I say more? Delicious. Back to the room, packed up and said goodbye and thank you to Steve before departing. It's a great area of NH, with much to offer during the different seasons. We will certainly look forward to staying at the Bernerhof Inn again...

Perfectly whipped hollandaise and cooked to order breakfast? Homebaked white chocolate macadamia nut cookies in the afternoon? Lovely rooms with jacuzzi, flat screen, and woodland view? Roasting marshmallows by the fire and hearing hilarious stories about bears? The cutest 2-yr old puppy (Holly) to greet you every morning? 5 minute drive to North Conway outlets and the great White Mountains? It's all here. We had a fabulous stay at the Bernerhof. Steve and Katey are welcoming hosts who go out of their way to make your stay perfect. They offer a variety of breakfast options (eggs in a nest, benny, french toast, and more), in a breakfast nook looking right out to the woods and mountains. My spouse accidentally ordered a breakfast meal she can't eat, and Steve took it right back and whipped up something just as amazing--seriously, I can't talk enough about the breakfast. But the angels are in the details. They love swing music, and we entered our room (the Madison Boulder, highly recommend) to light music playing from the stereo. They included mints and soft ear plugs by each bedside, bubble bath for the jacuzzi, Mac stations on each floor (don't do any work--go out to Mt. Washington, Cathedral Ledge, the outlets, Diana's Bath, and more), lovely local artwork for sale on the walls, complementary iPads during the stay, and a cash bar. We had a great time, and highly recommend! Go to the camp/bonfire Steve hosts every night--you have a great time meeting fellow tenants, listen to Steve's stories about the local wildlife, and see a sky full of stars. VERY reasonable prices too.

The Bernerhof is absolutely wonderful. My husband has been deployed and we stayed at the Bernerhof as a quick getaway before he had to leave. Neither of us had ever stayed at a bed and breakfast before so we were not really sure what to expect. As soon as we arrived the owner Steve greeted us and set us up immediately even though we were a little early. We described some of the things we were looking to do for the few days that we were in town and Steve was immediately on the phone finding us the best places and making us reservations. We had the pleasure of enjoying the spa and it was amazing. I got a pedicure done by Katey (the owner and Steve's wife) it was by far the best pedicure I have ever gotten, well worth the money. My husband and I also enjoyed a couples massage which again was the best massage either of us have ever had. The breakfast was amazing each morning it by far exceeded our expectations and our room was absolutely perfect! I seriously can't say enough about this wonderful place. The owners Steve and Katey go above and beyond to make sure that you have everything you need and that your stay is perfect while you are at the Bernerhof. What more could you ask for really!! If you have never tried a bed and breakfast before please try this place it will make you never want to stay in a hotel again.

The inn owner Steve was the best. There wasn't a thing wrong with the weekend. Had great time at their bar the first night. Breakfast both morning was exceptional. Dinner was perfect. I cannot think of a single negative thing about this inn

We had a very nice stay. The room was quaint and clean. The bed wasn't as supportive as both of us need and we went home pretty sore, and the jets in the tub echoed TERRIBLY because of the set up, but it was still a nice stay. Steve was amazingly accommodating and helpful, the breakfasts were all good, and the grounds and inn were beautiful. There's not too much to do in the area besides hike, but there are gorgeous views of all difficulty levels for you to enjoy.

Planning a last minute wedding only weeks prior, and the fact that my soon to be Bride has always Loved the appearance of Inn everytime we drove by,I decided to book our stay there(fully knowing that we may not get to book on such short notice).Well, not only we're we able to book, but while discussing our inability to attend a cooking class due to it being held simultaneously to our wedding ceremony we were gifted with an upgrade. And in saying that, and after having the opportunity to visit most of the rooms, getting an upgrade may be a misnomer,as all rooms are phenominal. And our host Steve? I cannot say enough about his efforts ,and his personality and character. He made us feel like we had been friends for years.Holly the dog gave us our "away from our pups" pet fix. We will certainly be returning,we live nearby and do not usually stay overnight ,but due to the comfort and friendly atmosphere,it is well worth the rejuvenating factor to stay.

We were very pleased with our stay at Bernerhof B&B, which we kept extending. Steve was a thoughtful, accommodating host who guided us in local dining choices since they do not serve dinners during weekday, when we were there. Holly, the tail wagging canine hostess, guided us on our nature walks with enormous enthusiasm. We hope to return in the fall.

Stayed a night for our anniversary and had the room and dinner package. The room was excellent. It was clean, comfortable and quiet. The dinner and breakfast were tasty and it was nice that we didn't have to go out to get it. The staff was very friendly, but we had our privacy as well. I would go back every year!

What an AMAZING Bed and Breakfast. Steve and Katey are fabulous and even helped my fiancé plan his proposal without me even having a clue! Thank you so much for such a memorable weekend. We will surely be back in the fall :-) Xoxo - The (FUTURE) Hastings

We haven't been out without the kids in years. This was the perfect getaway. The food was great - the best breakfast I have ever had. The cooks are always coming up with that extra something to give your taste buds a treat. We are looking forwards to our return!

Our first time at the Bernerhof Inn and it was outstanding. We would highly recommend the couples massage which was first on our agenda for the night. The food was fantastic and the staff so friendly. We learned a little about the inn history from the staff which we found very interesting as well. We will definitely be returning for another romantic weekend in the near future. Thank you Steve and Katey your inn is wonderful.

The in keepers Steve and Katy really know how to make you feel at home and comfortable . The drinks and breakfast was spot on and the room was so comfortable and clean. I love the robes. The music and fireplace in our room was much enjoyed. We really love all the help Steve gave us finding dinner locally amd we did a snowmobiling tour and received 10 percent off by mentioning Bernerhof name. Can't wait for next year.

Last weekend we took a weekend getaway to the Bernerhof Inn to celebrate new beginnings, and I couldn't have asked for a more perfect location. We stayed in the Fryeburg Village, which was gorgeous. There is so much close-by that you can enjoy the area, yet there was so much at the Inn itself that it was nice to come back and unwind. The food was fantastic (whatever you do - do NOT skip out on breakfast!!) and we loved hanging out at the Pub as well. Attention was paid to every detail - I highly recommend the Bernerhof for anyone looking to unwind. We can't wait to go back!!

As skiers in the North Conway area, the Bernerhof was the perfect place to stay for all 5 nearby mountains. Steve is a terrific host and a Rotary president to boot. Great stay, wonderful evening long conversations by a warm fireplace and cocktails from the Pub. Who could ask for a better winter eve. Breakfast was also wonderful. We will be here again & again. Thanks Steve for a most delightful stay. Jim & Char

Very pleasant stay with hosts who were friendly and helpful on the phone for reservations and when calling we would be late, also at check in, and through out the stay. I want to first complement the fact that pets of customers are not allowed. We travel all over USA and overseas. More and more places in USA are allowing pets which means the room I move into has pet residue in smell, hair, or what not. For the prices we are paying in travels I should have a room that feels clean same as not allowing smoking in rooms. The Bernerhof Inn makes sure the rooms are clean and always pet free. Meaning I walked into the room and felt at home. Don't get me wrong I am not a pet hater. We loved the fact the owners have a very well behaved and exceptionally friendly dog on site. It was nice being greeted by their dog Holly at 5:00am on the stairwell as the first guest awake and going to the coffee/breakfast area. The pub style lounge was comfortable with just the right size items on the menu. Though we were up and out each morning before breakfast was served, the owners went out of their way to make sure we did get some of the morning fresh baked pastries and even a quick egg breakfast sandwich. Very hospitable. My one request would be to have a larger towel rack in the bathroom for the bath towels. I don't mind smaller bed & breakfast Inn style bathrooms but due to the smaller size I would like to have the towels up and hanging out of the way. We requested and received Room 8 - Intervale. Nice each room is named after a White Mountain area. Very happy with the room and it was exactly as it was described on the web site. Thank you.

I cannot say enough good things about the Bernerhof. The inn itself is beautiful and very cozy. We had a wonderful suite - the bed was comfortable and the whirlpool bath felt great after skiing all day. The hot water was plentiful and even the pressure was fantastic - nice to find in such an old building. But the best parts of this place are the innkeepers themselves. Steve and Katey are wonderful hosts! Steve welcomed us and made us feel right at home the minute we arrived. The breakfasts were all delicious as were the homemade goodies we found waiting for us at the end of the day. The attention to detail was outstanding - for example they picked up on things we were drinking in our room and we'd find new cans and a bucket of ice upon our return from skiing. They truly made us feel like we were visiting friends rather than staying in a hotel. We aren't sure when we'll be back in New Hampshire but we are we fully intend to stay here again!

I seriously cannot say enough good things about the Bernerhof! My husband brought me for my birthday and I was completely wowed! Steve was so hospitable and within minutes of meeting him we feel felt like we were old friends. We didn't get the chance to meet Katey, but from what we hear we seriously missed out! The room was beautiful and included a bathtub the size of a small swimming pool. You would expect in an old building the water pressure/temperature to be lacking but not at all, I took baths both days! The bar in the restaurant area was definitely the place to be and we met some great friendly couples on our first night. We only ate in the restaurant once for breakfast but the food was great, we just wanted to try some other places in the area as well since it was our first time. We were able to peek in some of the other rooms while we were walking around and they were all beautiful! The location was fantastic, Conway in ten minutes, Attitash in ten minutes the other direction. We drove up from CT and took the Kanc from Lincoln on the way in, which was well worth the extra time. We will definitely be back to the Bernerhof, it was an amazing birthday trip!!

My husband, best friends, and I stayed here for 1 week this February (2015) and it was amazing. My husband and I had stayed here 2 times before and it just gets better every time we come. Our innkeeper, Steve, gave us a warm welcome when we arrived. He was very flexible and accommodating to our needs and made sure we were comfortable and had everything we could possibly need for a great stay. Steve is a great innkeeper with a lot of attention to detail and making sure his guests are well cared for. The room was great! This B&B has all the charm of the past with the modern amenities of today. Every morning there was a delicious selection for breakfast and just the thing before a long day of skiing. There were always fresh baked goods throughout the day, as well as coffee and tea. We even had dinner at the Black Bear Pub a couple of evenings and that was delicious too! We had a massage at the new spa. It was a relaxing and much needed after being on the slopes for 4 days. Would highly recommend having a massage here. This B&B is close to many mountains to ski on which is great. There are many restaurants and even shopping nearby. We were never bored and had an amazing week here!

We stayed jan 30- feb 1, 2015. Such a welcoming staff! Steve gives you a little tour upon check in which is really nice. We checked in earlier in the day on that friday so we were one of the only couples there so I got to poke my head in some of the empty rooms before other poeple checked in for the weekend. Every room is unique in its own way and very quaint and cozy. The food was very good and the bar drinks were very tasty. We have never been in this part of NH so it was nice that steve had tons of info and brochures that were very helpful. Upstairs there is a dvd library which is a cute added touch. There are baked treats out during the day with the keruig for tea and coffee which we enjoyed by the cozy fireplace in the sitting area. Have nothing but good things to say about the bernerhof inn. Can't wait to come back! Ashley & Nick

This was our first time at a B & B and we loved it! The only reason that I didn't rate the room higher was because of its location. We booked late and took the last room available so we were in the room that was located right off of the dining area so it was a little noisy in the evening and early morning, but it really was fabulous! Steve, the innkeeper was wonderful and let us see many of the other rooms on check out day so that we will know exactly where we want to be next time! We plan to go back and take friends and family! Can't wait...

Steve and Katey, the innkeepers here, are both charming and friendly, available, and accommodating. My girlfriend and I stayed one night only, but we wished we could have stayed forever. The room, "Villages of Conway," was very nice, clean, with a comfy bed, nice shower, jacuzzi, television, and DVD room conveniently located right next door. The breakfast options were terrific, including some of the best eggs benedict I've come across. The area itself was ideal for a winter getaway; there are many terrific dinner options, pubs, and steakhouses nearby.

My husband and I stayed three nights from 12/26/14 to 12/29/14 for our 5 year anniversary. We have been in the area for our one year anniversary but stayed at another Inn. We absolutely enjoy it so much, we plan on going back for our six year anniversary. I can't say enough about how awesome our stay was from the minute we walked in Steve was so hospitable. I want to go back now. When we got home on Monday, my husband was asking when are we going back and why didn't we stay longer. We love New Hampshire and we now love Bernerhof Inn Bed and Breakfast! My family and I stayed here for 1 night over the Christmas Holiday and we couldn't have been happier with our pick! The Inn is immaculate, the owners and are so so friendly and personable and the rest of the staff was great too! We didn't eat dinner there but had breakfast there in the morning and it was delicious! They are very accommodating to their guests and have an adorable little bar area where you can sit. We were incredibly happy with our stay and look forward to going back next year!

There is nothing I would change about the Bernerhof and it's wonderful Inn keepers, Steve and Katey. Was a perfect weekend. Our Murder Mystery weekend began with a friendly welcome and tour. Lead to a beautiful room, with corner fireplace and the heat set perfectly for our arrival, dinner suggestions and a late nite session at the Bar. It was a real bonus to have a fully stocked, generous bar on location, to wind down the drive from Ottawa.(Every moment worth the drive) Met wonderful local regulars and others from out of town, everyone so friendly. Woke to a rejuvenating deep tissue massage by Katey at the onsite Serenity Spa( recommend highly!) Breakfast was incredible both days. Our first afternoon, we toured the grounds and Lovely North Conway. Returning for the Bernerhof's first ever, Murder Mystery Weekend, 20's style. You would think they are old pros, went off without a hitch. The italian wedding soup and Lasagna, were incredible, made onsite in their chef inspired kitchen. Steve's talents in the kitchen are equal to his ability to host and make you feel at home. Another late nite ended with a card game around the fire with our newly made friends, sipping nite caps and laughing..such a perfect stay. We will be back again, now knowing when we need a perfect getaway, we have somewhere that will welcome us with great hospitality.

A must is to walk the trial on the property with their dog Holly. Holly loves to show you the way around this beautiful trail. Nice little trail to stretch your legs after a great breakfast. Already making plans for next year to come back and visit.

This stay was a very short one night stay over. The Inn was everything that we expected. I selected this B&B because it had everything that we were looking for. Besides a place to sleep, it had the spa, restaurant and pub, all which we utilized. Though we enjoyed the food, drink and other guest, I must say that Steve was probably the most enjoyable. I have never met an Inn Keeper with so much enthusiasms and desire to please his guest, it must be exhausting. If I could change one decision I made, that would have been to have selected one of the suites. Though cost drove me not to, after seeing one, I wish I had paid the extra for one. We did a room/romance/ dinner/spa package and it all came together nicely. Good job Steve, much success to you and Kate and your family. Though we never frequent the same place twice I would highly recommend Bernerhof Inn to anyone.

My wife and I visited the Bernerhof Inn for a New England late fall getaway and our visit was thoroughly relaxing. I fully agree with others and cannot overstate how welcoming, helpful and friendly inn managers Steve and Katey are with their guests! The Bernerhof is a warm and charming place set within the serene New Hampshire White Mountains. The entire property resembles an enchanting Victorian home where you can sit or relax in the inviting pub or sitting areas conveniently located on each floor. Steve took great care to ensure we maximized our experience and created a tailored driving tour our first day due to the inclement weather. Later during our second evening after my wife finished her enjoyable 90 minute massage in the on-site Serenity Studio, Steve invited us into the inn's beautiful cooking school kitchen for a delicious impromptu dinner (fresh New England clams!) with other inn guests which we will forever treasure. The gourmet breakfasts were a pure delight and we enjoyed the changing daily menu. Steve takes considerable pride in stocking regional beers and spirits in the adjoining warm Black Bear Pub which fondly reminded us of our English travels. We were thoroughly delighted with the hospitality and felt like family during our entire stay. The company, surroundings and inn's character were a genuine delight as one of our very best B&B experiences. We will certainly be back again! Thank you Steve and Katey for such an unforgettable experience. - Jason & Suzie

Went to see the fall foliage and everything about our stay was just great. Wonderful atmosphere, location, accommodations, breakfast and terrific hosts. The only regret is that the stay wasn't a little longer. If you needed something, all you had to do was ask, couldn't get much better than that. I strongly recommend staying if your going to that part of the state.

Great Inn. Great Room #9. Steve was very sociable with us and easy to have a conversation with. The Bernerhof was warm and inviting with ample areas for guests to hang out. Access to all the amenities including kitchen and bar area(honor system) made you feel at home. The only disappointment was having to leave one night for dinner. As guests we did not want to venture off at night as the Bernerhof was so comfortable. I might suggest to Steve/Kate a level of dinner service be offered daily. We also indulged in a couples massage in the on site Spa. What a treat after a longs day of hiking. Would not hesitate to return.

It started off with a great looking home. My girlfriend and I walked in a little nervous, but only because we were really excited about our vacation. We then met Steve. What an amazing host! He was cheery and excited and funny and good guy all around. He gave us a tour of the place and then let us free to roam and opened up his kitchen and bar to us. Everything taken based on honor system which I totally love and respect. We walked around on the trails around the b&b with some champagne (after unloading our suitcases and gear into our room). I don't want to make this too long so I will now keep it simple. Steve recommended the BEST dinner spots in town. Best Indian food I've ever had and the restaurant down the street called the cider house or barn , something like that, he will tell you. And breakfast each morning was perfect. Really. It's just what a breakfast should, plus I learned a new recipe. If you want a romantic, comfortable, and straight up amazing room, go with the Jackson Room. It is the best I've ever stayed in. I had such a relaxing vacation, well we both did. It was perfect. Everything from enjoying the white mountains to the best restaurants in town (including breakfast), to a great feeling of being at home if you grew up in a mansion. And all for a great price, and I'm cheap. Haha. Sooooo, I don't know how else to say it but, if you're trying hard to find that perfect place to stay with your loved one, definitely stay here. You will not regret it and your spirit will be rejuvenated. Peace and love. And thank you for a lovely time. I've already recommended this place to my family and friends and continue to do so. We stayed two nights at The Bernerhof Inn. We were welcomed by Steve. The owner of the Bernerhof. He gave us a short tour of the Inn and made us feel like we were at home. The Jazz music was playing in the background and we relaxed at the Bar and had some warm squares made by his wife Katie. There are many games you can play and if you don't know how to play them Steve will teach you. Steve helped plan our motorcycle ride in the area for the next day. He knows the best roads and his way around as he is also a motorcycle rider. The next morning we woke up and were offered a few choices for breakfast. Best of all the food served is mostly local. Coffee/Tea and Ice Water was always available. In the afternoon there was always some sort of home baking. I enjoyed the full two hour massage and reflexology in their beuatifully decorated massage room. I wished we could have stayed longer as I really loved the area and would've loved to explore. I hope to be back again one day. Thanks for making us feel so welcome. Tracey

We were in for 1 night only and regretted not being able to stay longer. Warm and inviting, friendly and sociable hosts (Steve and Kate), delicious supper in the Pub, luxurious Jacuzzi tub, very comfortable bed, and scrumptious breakfast.

My husband and I were looking for a quiet, nice, not too pricey place to "get away" from the kids for the night to celebrate our 4 year wedding anniversary. I'm really glad we did our research and found the Bernerhof Inn. Katey and Steve were very welcoming and understanding of our need to just relax in iur room for most if the time. Beautiful rooms, beautiful inn, amazing breakfast in the morning. We could not have asked for a better overnight getaway.

This was our second time staying at the Bernerhof, and the service and breakfast experience was terrific as usual! Steve and Katey make you feel quickly at home and are wonderful hosts. My only complaint (which wasn't an issue during our 2013 visit) is that the jacuzzi area of our room had several live spiders in its ceiling corners and there were a handful of large dead insects visible in the enclosed overhead light. A little gross and not what I would have expected for the cost of our night there. Otherwise the room was very clean and comfortable. If we find ourselves in the area again I'm sure we'll consider another stay at the Bernerhof. Thanks! Luke & Ashanna

Where do I start?! This is the best Bed & Breakfast we've ever been to. After our long drive from Newton, Ma, my husband and I were exhausted and wanted to just relax...driving into the lot we knew we were going to get just that. The establishment is beautiful, peaceful, and very welcoming! Upon arrival, Steve greeted us as if he already knew us, a friend with an amazing personality:) He upgraded our room and we LOVED it, perfect for our special occasion. Their breakfast and dinner were delicious as the reviews said, we didn't want to eat anywhere else. Steve even personalized our dessert with little sweet messages. The cute little bar downstairs was a great place to chill, listen to music, and just relax. Katey made me a delicious Martini cakes "The Buzz", my new favorite! I will be making it at home for friends and family:) I also loved the fact that Steve and Katey were able to be themselves and have a drink with us and another couple down in the lobby. We had great conversations and laughs...made us feel like home...like family. Who can forget Holly their dog! Holly is the sweetest...she ran and waited for us at the entrance of a trail then guided us the whole way through...love her¿¿ Thank you for the memorable 2-night stay...you guys made us feel very special. -Jackie & Tony

Steve was exceptionally accommodating, upgrading us to a larger room with a spa bath upon arrival. He went above and beyond to serve us an earlier than usual breakfast so we could climb Mt. Washington early. The Inn is well-maintained, in a great location, with extremely gracious hosts. Highly recommended!

I always enjoy my stay at the Bernerhof B & B. Very quiet, clean and relaxing. My only issue would be that the spa tub was not working during our stay. Other than that, we enjoyed every moment.

My husband had a job to look at in Glen, NH so we decided to make it a getaway weekend. And enjoy the North Conway area. The Bernerhof Inn did not disappoint! Everyone there was very friendly and staff was very attentive. We stayed in the Jackson Village Room and it was beautifully decorated and very clean. We enjoyed the pub atmosphere and there was a duo playing live music during dinner. Breakfast was amazing! Katey and Steve made us feel very welcome!

What a wonderful place! I traveled there alone for a short getaway and I can't believe I didn't discover it before now. I stayed at the last minute in the Fryburg room on the first floor. Well-appointed, elegant and spacious, will little extra touches such as immediately replenished water bottles and a flower on the freshly made bed when I returned at the end of the day. The innkeepers, Steve and Katey are the perfect hosts-warm, helpful and friendly without being intrusive. The staff was young and earnest. I have already booked for the following weekend, as I can't wait to introduce my boyfriend to our new escape! I plan to be a regular!

My wife and I just returned from spending three nights at this beautiful inn celebrating our 20th anniversary of meeting each other (and the 20th anniversary of our first trip together -- to this very inn). To say that Steve and Katey were the perfect hosts would be an understatement. They both went to incredible lengths to make sure that everything was perfect for this surprise trip for my wife, from tracking down my wife’s favorite flowers for our room from local florists to making sure the champagne was chilled in time for our arrival. My wife and I are both somewhat picky eaters (only eat seafood, only eat certain kinds of cheese ….) and, when we mentioned it to Steve at the bar on our first night, he took it as a challenge. The next day, he went shopping just to make us our own delicious scallop dinner for two (not on the menu) that evening. (At the same time, another guest asked about a kind of liquor that Steve did not stock at the bar and, on the same shopping trip, he picked up a bottle so that he would have it for that guest the next night.) Our room (The Bretton Woods) was immaculate, and featured an in-room Jacuzzi and our own private porch area. The massages that we got in the inn’s spa (both by Caryn) were among the best we have ever had anywhere in the world, from Thailand to the Caribbean. And, Steve and Katey’s one-year-old dog, Holly, is one of the best guides you could ever have to show you around the property’s nature trail. Everything at the inn was better than we remembered it from 20 years ago. But, the real difference is that Steve and Katey are there now, and they make the inn special and make you feel special.

It was the best stay I have had anyplace! The inn keepers were amazing it was beautiful and so relaxing me and my wife could not have asked for a better place to stay on our honeymoon and plan on going back to stay again in the future!

I took my wife here this past weekend to celebrate our 5th anniversary. It was my first ever trip to a bed and breakfast. The one negative is that the bar is now set way too high. I know that because my wife has been to many and she said this was the best she has ever been to. The room was clean and comfortable. The food was above average, especially the breakfast. Drinks were made to our liking. The grounds were well kept along with a nature trail. The spa on site made you feel like you were on vacation. That paled in comparison to the way Steve and his team treated us. The service was top notch and made this trip worth the money spent and the 3.5 hour drive. We highly recommend Bernerhof Inn to anyone.

From the first phone call to saying goodbye on Sunday, Katey, Steve and Holly (the gentle resident dog) made you feel like olde friends. This was our first stay here and the warmth and charm of the Inn as well as the comfortable pub and rooms, have us already planning our return trip. The brews are micro ( great) and the food-from breakfast to dinner (or pub fare) is all homemade and well served. The chicken schnitzel and the 'famous' hollandaise sauce was excellent. We enjoyed the Wellness Spa and massages-highly recommended-and the in-room Jacuzzi was wonderful. This B&B is very very well run and we agree with other posts that Steve and Kaety could teach a master's class in how an Inn should be run. We have stayed at other B&B's, but this is by far the best and well worth it. We can't wait to return!

Although only about a 50 minute drive from our home in southern Maine, my wife and I enjoy our annual weekend getaway to the White Mountains. We prefer the bed and breakfast lodging as opposed to the typical hotel for the "at home" atmosphere and home cooked breakfast. Scanning the internet I came across the Bernerhof Inn and found the perfect room with the amenities we like was available for our chosen weekend. Upon arrival we were greeted on the porch by Steve, checked in, and shown around the sitting area of the Black Bear Pub, dining area, and coffee/tea nook. Our room, the Villages of Conway, which was room 9 on the 3rd floor was absolute perfect, including our 2 person jacuzzi. Although we didn't take part in dinner, our gourmet, home cooked breakfast was truly amazing in quality as well as presentation! A perfect atmosphere to just make yourself at home, lounge around inside or on the porch and make new friends! We will most definitely make many more returns!

We had an awesome time staying at the Bernerhof Inn. Steve greeted us upon arrival and served us a delicious dinner.Steve was super friendly and we really enjoyed chatting with him and yet having our own time as well. The inn is absolutely adorable and we loved our room. The Black Bear Pub was so comfy and just so nice to relax in. We went midweek during the off season and so we happened to have the whole place to ourselves but with other guests I'm sure it would be just as comfortable. The breakfast in the morning was just as yummy as our dinner the night before. We were enjoying our time so much we didn't want to leave but had to in order to get Wildcat for a day of skiing. We will definitely be back and look forward to meeting Katey and their dog Holly next time!

I had the pleasure of staying at The Bernerhof Inn last Thursday evening and was absolutely delighted with everything about the inn. As a frequent visitor to the White Mountains, I know that the Bernerhof has had some ups and downs over the past few years but it has now been lovingly restored to its former beauty and Innkeepers Steve and Katey have the infectious enthusiasm of proud new parents. They are committed to making sure that everything about your stay with them is nothing short of perfect, and its refreshing to see their commitment to the community as well as evidenced by their exhibiting of works by NH area artists, including cute rubber ducks in each bath as part of a local family's fund raiser for a medical research foundation, and sourcing local products as much as possible. Not only is the Inn impeccably clean and nicely decorated, but there is a an evident pride in home and community that can be felt in every detail. Just a wonderful experience, all the way around!

Been going here for years and been through thick and thin the past few years but now Steve and Katey own it and they bring a love and excitement for this beautiful old Inn again. These are really nice folks that greet you with a smile and can't do enough for you to make your stay memorable. Breakfast included, good food and drink. And, the Black Bear Pub is open again and just as much fun as ever. Most rooms have Jacuzzis and are spacious. This is a great value and I highly recommend staying here. Just up the street from Attitash, Wildcat and through the notch to Bretton Woods.

We cannot say enough about the wonderful service we received from our hosts, Katey and Steve. They went over and above the call. The room was pleasant and comfortable, but the jacuzzi did not hold the water. We had to keep adding more to keep the jets going. The breakfasts were fine and prompt. The only complaint has to do with noise. The room was on the first floor next to the kitchen. Apparently the family lived just above the room. So, we were awakened each morning early be the sounds of their kids getting ready for school. A little more sound insulation would help.

Bill and I needed a break from worrying about my up-coming mastectomy, so at the height of the 2014's Polar Vortex we headed north to New Hampshire. We're we crazy? No -- We left the cancer at home. We spent four days at the Bernerhof Inn. Although the weather outside was frightful, inside it was as warm and welcoming as you can possibly imagine. It was as if we were in our own home (only cleaner :-) and we didn't have to cook.) We went cross-country skiing, slept late, read to each other, went shopping, enjoyed the double jacuzzi in our room, borrowed DVDs from the Inn's library, and had a couple's massage. (Okay, we fooled around too.) Our second day there, I walked into the Inn and asked why does it always smell like fresh-baked cookies in here? Steve, the co-owner, said, "It better smell like that." And sure enough there were fresh-baked chocolate chip cookies in the breakfast nook. Yum! The home-cooked breakfasts were varied, creative, and delicious -- pancakes, French toast, egg Benedict, etc. There were numerous great restaurants nearby for lunch and dinner. The temperature outside ranged from 10 Degrees F to minus 39 Degrees F at times, but there was always a fire going in every fireplace and the opportunity to share good conversions with Steve and his wife Katey and with the other guests. Even the dog, Holly, was welcoming with her tail wagging. These folks are professionals who know how to make you feel at home away from home. The only problem we had was, with it being so cold outside, our room was sometimes too warm at night. Better that, than too cold. So, for us, it was the perfect. The cancer stayed at home and we relaxed! So, if you're looking for a romantic winter get away, try the Bernerhoff Inn. (I know this review might sound like I work for Steve and Katey, but I don't!)

My husband and I stayed here for a few days in August after being drawn in by the technology pull. Our room on the first floor was gorgeous and comfortable. The owner truly enjoys running this inn, and took great care of helping us find things to do in the area and when preparing our delicious breakfasts. We also took advantage of the Wellness Center and got a couples massage- definitely worth it! Probably the most amazing thing was that I left a small, sentimental, stuffed object behind that became misplaced. The owner found it weeks later and mailed it to my husband as a surprise for me! If you are looking for a sweet getaway and a helpful, passionate staff- definitely try the Bernerhof Inn! We would definitely come here again- perhaps in the winter to experience the sport.

My fiancée and I recently stayed at the Bernerhof inn. After a terrible travel experience to a tropical place, Steve and Katey welcomed us in as if we had known them forever! The rooms are unbelievably comfortable, warm, and welcoming. The gourmet breakfast was absolutely to die for! I cannot say enough about the customer service. It was as if we were the only ones at the inn! They truly take the time to cater to your every want and need. It was so nice and refreshing to meet such great people. We had such a great experience, that we decided to travel to the Inn at least twice a year from now on. I would absolutely recommend this place to everyone I know.

My husband and I were looking for a place to stop for a couple of days on our way back home....and we couldn't have been more pleasantly surprised. The reception was second to none and the breakfasts were delicious and satisfying. Whether you're getting ready for a day on the slopes or replenishing after a run, you're set for the day! The ambiance of the Inn is warm and welcoming; and guests felt at home. We had a lovely time sipping our wine with new friends made during our visit and having the Innkeepers join us made the evening more special. I simply could not finish this review without saying how much we enjoyed Holly's company (she is an amazing dog) and having the opportunity to play with her outside was a blast! I would most definately recoomend this establishment to anybody wanting a memorable stay!! Merci BEAUCOUP:)

Steve and Katey are wonderfully welcoming. The breakfasts are huge as well as delicious. Little nibbles are available throughout the day as well as coffee and tea. The rooms are elegant and individualized - ours had a jacuzzi for two as well as a shower. Nice hiking loops on premises, games, puzzles and movies for indoor distractions. Some really wonderful dinner places nearby. Oh, and don't forget about the wonderful spa on the premises. Hot stone massages for couples, which are hard to get.

We will return.

This place is amazing. My husband and I went for our 1st year wedding anniversary. We loved it, it was an experience. To me, it was all special from the moment I walked in. Warm, cozy, homey. The place is full of beautiful warm fireplaces. And it has this wonderful fragrance about it. Breakfast is delicious as well as anything they serve there. The Inn Keepers, Steve & Katey, enhance the experience and make it all that more special. Beautiful people. We plan to go back. No doubt, a New England charm. Located in the White Mountains area, part of the Mt. Washington Valley. About 10 mins from North Conway, which is another beautiful city. I just love the whole area, it's a culture in its own. Lovely.

Katey and Steve were great hosts. The whole inn was picture perfect and the hospitality was wonderful. Breakfast had multiple selctions and each had their own distinct flavor. We also had the opportunity of to have a stress free massage which was the icing on the cake. Steve was very knowledgeable about where to have dinner and we had some very flavorable meals at local restaurants. We highly recommend to anyone who is headed to North Conway to try out the Bernerhof. You will not be disappointed!

If you are looking for a New England Inn, then this is it. Fabulous location, excellent service, rooms are awesome (highly recommend the Josiah Bartlett). Service impeccable. amenities numerous. cant say enough. 5 star B&B!!! if I had to come up with a negative it would be that there were places that were in need of some paint or minor repairs, but they were truly minor. STAY AT THE BERNERHOF.

We really enjoyed our stay - the Innkeeper was very friendly and helpful with local restaurant suggestions, there were several great options for breakfast and the food was very good, and the inn was very clean. The ONLY negative for me was the busy two lane highway next to the inn. Our room was located on the "highway" side and the traffic noise was fairly high in October. In spite of this, I would definitely stay at this B&B again.

Wonderful place to stay because of the attention to guests and their needs. We stayed three nights and Mike guided us, in great detail, to every destination we had on our list, even making some superb suggestions for out-of-the-way places and dinner. Rooms were big and the beds very confortable; a little extra training for the house cleaning staff probably would be helpful. We would go back. . .

Bernerhof Inn was certainly one of the most beautiful B&B's I've stayed at. The breakfast, including being able to order off a menu, was definitely the best. Not just fufu B&B type food, but real breakfast food. How about lobster benedict for breakfast, with a full claw on each, or homemade corned beef hash? Mike is the chef, and obviously takes great pride in his cooking. Mike is a great host, and even has a beautiful bar on the main level where guests can congregate. I understand why Bernerhof Inn is booked solid; what better place to stay?
5 on August 10, 2013
Overall my stay at the Bernerhof Inn was spectacular. Walking in the door it immediately felt like home. Mike was so welcoming and knew so much about the area it was like having our own personal travel agent. The room was beautiful. I loved the Madison Boulder jacuzzi- It was definitely a nice touch to a mid week get away. The pub located at the inn was awesome. It was great to meet all the guests and have a drink at the inn with Mike. Mike did a great job of creating a community like atmosphere at the inn. Upon leaving, I knew many of the guests and enjoyed spending time with everyone. The food was SPECTACULAR. When Mike found out that my boyfriend and I loved lobster he added "Lobster Eggs Benedict" to the breakfast menu. Overall, my stay at the Bernerhof Inn was AMAZING due to the magnificent accommodations and wonderful hospitality of Mike and staff. I can't wait to go back! Hopefully next time I'll meet Claire. Haha.

We were pleasantly surprised at these upscale accommodations in the Washington Valley. Mike runs a beautiful, clean inn with elegant gardens tended to by his daughter Jordan. Upon arrival we were given an unexpected upgrade to a spacious suite. Mike gave us a very early breakfast the day we hiked Mt. Washington, and the little pub area off the common sitting room, run on a honor system, provided a refreshing beer and wine beverage afterwards. The wide, comfortable porch is the perfect spot to relax with that beverage. I don't often write reviews, but wanted to be sure the Bernerhof Inn got credit for its excellence, and for being one of the friendliest places to stay.

Me and my fiance really enjoyed the stay at this place. We just stayed one night but wish we had stayed longer. Although I booked a room online the owner of the place was nice enough to provide us with a better room which was more spacious. The place provides complementary drinks, afternoon tea and breakfast. The place is run by the father and the daughter. Very nice people and very welcoming. Also, the place is located in a very nice quite area. It was worth for the price we payed. I highly recommend it. If you ever consider going to this place, please use GPS coordinates and it will take you right to that place. The address cannot be found in the navigation device.

We had a last minute trip to StoryLand the weekend of June 15th. I called Bernerhof Inn Bed and Breakfast and spoke to Mike, The Inn keeper, and he was able to find me a room. It was Bike week in New Hampshire and we were having a hard time finding a hotel. I think LUCK was on our side. We had a wonderful time and the B&B was absolutely beautiful. Even our 6 year old was asking when we would be able to stay here again.

My daughter and I had a wonderful time at the Inn. We were greeted by Mike with warmth and a smile. We lucked out and had our room upgraded to a slightly bigger one including a Jacuzzi, thanks Mike! Our room was very nice, the Inn was immaculate, the food was great and Mike was very outgoing and there to help you with whatever you needed for your stay. The first morning after breakfast we used the snow shoes available at the Inn, first time ever that either one of us used them. We had a great trek through the trail onsite after a new fallen snow the evening before. After dinner we spent some of our evening enjoying a cozy common area on the floor our room was on, me surfing on my iPad using their free Wi-Fi available to the guests and my daughter using the Macintosh computer for the guests to use. The next morning my daughter was greeted with her name on the breakfast menu next to one of the items that she had ‘special’ ordered the previous morning, it certainly put a smile on her face and was a great personal touch! We would definitely come back to the Bernerhof Inn and look forward to it!

This was our first time at the Bernerhoff and definately won't be our last. Our weekend was just what we needed. The Inn was comfortable and everyone from the quests to staff were extremely friendly. Mike goes above and beyond to make you feel comfortable. Thanks Mike, Wendy

We've been coming to the Mt. Washington Valley for skiing for almost 50 years, and been staying at Bernerhof since the early 90's. The current owners and managers - Mike Luciano is the innkeeper - are doing a great job. I don't know that I've stayed in a B&B with a guy cooking breakfast before, and Mike's are a treat! Ask for his country breakfast if you have an appetite, or "Wanda's Oatmeal" if you want to stick to your diet. The Bernerhof is only a few miles from great skiing either alpine or cross-country, and if you get your passes at the inn they're either discounted, or in a few cases, free. Call Mike or go online for snow conditions. Those vary. Mike is a skier and grew up in the Valley so he knows his way around.

My boyfriend & I recently stayed at the Bernerhof Inn. We could not have asked for a better place. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming from the moment we walked in. Everything was perfect and right out of a magazine. Our room was the Madison. It had a very comfortable queen bed, fireplace and jacuzzi tub. There is a bar/common area on the main floor where you can relax and interact with other guests. It's less than 10 minutes from local dining and shops and about 15 minutes from Settler's Outlets. All around, we were very pleased with our stay. I would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to anyone planning a trip to North Conway.

My husband and I stayed here for a couple nights and couldn't have been happier with our choice! The room was clean and comfortable, the area was quiet and relaxing. The innkeepers were very friendly and helpful with the area, restaurants, and whatever was needed at the inn. Highly recommend this place!

We enjoyed our stay very much and found the innkeeper to be very thoughtful and enjoyable, as well as being a good cook. We had chosen a room that was smaller than we realized, but it was very nice. Looking around the inn before checking out, we were impressed with the size and attractiveness of the other rooms. I would recommend this B&B to others, and we would love to return for future stays.

My husband and I stayed at the Bernerhof Inn for 4 nights on our honeymoon. The Inn has a magical character about it with luxurious bedrooms, bath and common spaces along with beautiful artwork displayed throughout. There are common use computer stations with printers on each floor, the complimentary use of an iPad in room, a large movie and book selection in the library and attentive housekeeping. Moreover, we were made to feel at home by the Innkeeper Mike who cooked up the most fabulous gourmet breakfasts each morning and made great suggestions for local restaurants to sample. We also took advantage of the on site Wellness spa and had a couples massage, a perfect way to relax on our trip. We can not express how much we enjoyed our stay at the Inn and how accommodating and friendly Mike was to us. We look forward to celebrating future anniversaries at the Bernerhof in years to come.

My wife and I stayed here in September for a little rest, relaxation and wilderness. Well I must say this was the best spot on our two week trip. Mike and Brett made us feel like we were part of the family, great company in the evening and very professional, courteous and at tentative to our needs. We will stay here the next time we are in the area and I would recommend it to everyone. Oh and the chocolate chip cookies are amazing!

Mike and his staff were very welcoming. We felt like we'd known them for a long time. The Inn was beautiful and extremely neat and clean. The breakfast was delicious. One of the best breakfasts we've ever had at a B&B. We truly enjoyed our stay.

My girlfriend and I were skeptical at first about a B&B thinking, that’s only a place older married couples go. To our surprise when we showed up we were immediately met with both the married older couples we envisioned but also younger couples that we had a great time with into the early morning hours just sitting at the bar talking and laughing with. The onsite bar was definitely a huge perk I didn’t expect to utilize. It’s perfect for after dinner with a great selection of beer and wine. Also this is a good time to note we stayed right next to the kitchen and breakfast seating area and weren't awoken by any noise which we were originally concerned with when we saw the location of our room. However, it wasn't even the slightest issue. Mike and Tina also made us feel like they had known us for years from the moment we met them both. They were actually so much fun to hang with we were all disappointed when they had to leave to attend an event for the evening. The food was top notch. The location is outside the busy hustle and bustle of North Conway's small town center, but only five minutes away from unique shops and sightseeing. We definitely enjoyed that secluded and relaxing feel. The room was large with a large two shower head stand up shower and a jacuzzi bath tub next to the fireplace. There was plenty of storage space for extended stays as well. The room also came equipped with a private entrance and patio which my girlfriend and I had planned on using but decided because we were enjoying everyone else's company so much that we would eat out in dining area. Also our server Kerry was exceptional, a great down to earth person who also makes you feel right at home always trying to make sure you have everything you need and a great time to talk to. I don't think we could've had a better experience or would consider staying anywhere else in the area. We only wished we were actually staying longer at the end of our stay. It's definitely worth a visit.

Everything was wonderful couldn't be better. I've been to several B&B's but this is certainly the tops. The breakfast was superb, the rooms even more beautiful than on the website. I can't wait to return.

The bed and breakfast inn were greatly cozy, the innkeepers were very friendly. We visited there in October, therefore the scenery was highly beautiful, and there were so pretty decorations for Halloween near the entrance. In addition, their breakfast was fresh and hot.

My husband and I stayed at this inn for our 27th anniversary . Overall we were very pleased with the entire experience. From the cleanliness of the rooms to the warm welcome from the inn keeper. We will certainly return in the near future to enjoy the fabulous breakfast prepared by Mike. My husband couldn't stop talking about what a wonderful time we had. Oh I can't forget about the spa, the couples foot treatment was out of this world. Found the spa to be very up to date and the staff were very pleasant and down to earth.

The owners were very nice, the rooms were very clean, and the breakfast was the best we have had on our trip so far. The Ipads available with your room rental are also a nice touch.

The in is very warm and inviting, Mike is excellent; he made you feel welcomed at all times. Bed was a little softer than we are use to, but was very comfortable. It is a very charming Inn and in a good location, close to Mt. Washington but out of the crowds of North Conway.

Impeccable grounds, warm inviting victorian Inn located just north of the Conway area. The innkeeper and his assistants were so great. They helped me make our anniversary very special. He was very knowledgeble of dining in the area and places to see. The room was spotless and had all the amenities of a 5 star hotel. What a cozy warm feeling we had in our stay hear. Mike prepare a great breakfast every morning, the pub had quiet the selection of beers and wines. A great place for a romantic get away or family reunion. My wife and I look forward to our next stay hear.

Every year we've stayed at the Bernerhof Inn has been an outstanding stay. Seeing that there was new Innkeepers this year made me slightly hesitent because our past stays had been so perfect, something that shouldnt be messed with. My worries were unfounded though since Michael Luciano proved to be an outstanding fit for the Inn. he was very friendly, personable and informative and a made a great breakfast! Only wish we could of stayed longer! Looking forward to our next visit! Somehow a perfect Bed & Breakfast has improved! Great job Michael Ethan & Renee Iwanicki

The Bernerhof Inn was the ideal stopover on our way back to Canada after spending 5 days touring New York, Newport and Boston. The rooms were impeccable, the food was awesome and Michael and Derek were the perfect hosts. If you just want to hang around the Inn, there are plenty of activities to partake. We recommend the Bernerhof Inn to anyone wanting some R&R after shopping, skiing or hiking in the North Conway region of the White Mountains....Sean and Julie. (BTW, Michael, Russell Wilson is starting to look like the real deal. Good luck this year)

We were a little apprehensive about staying in a B&B, but this establishment was more like a boutique hotel, with a very personal feel. We are planning to book a family getaway one weekend next summer in a family suite. Thank you to Mike and Derek for a lovely stay!

My husband & I recently spent 3 days at The Bernerhof and we were blown away by the warm atmosphere, friendly innkeeper(s), beautifully appointed rooms and spectacular scenery. This is an excellent choice for your stay in the White Mountains -- close enough to the action in North Conway, but far from bad traffic. Near to great hiking and beautiful scenery. We're glad we have 3 nights here... it was a good amount of time to soak in everything. We'll be back!

My girlfriend and I used the buy two get one free deal in the middle of August. We showed up early and Mike was very generous to let us check in early. We stayed in the Jackson Village suite and it was beautiful, exactly what we wanted. The room had a ton of space. I was able to use the daybed area for work and morning routine while my girlfriend could continue sleeping in peace. The whirlpool tub easily fits two people and made the experience even more romantic. Mike & Derek were very generous to let us use the fridge in the pub area for all our wine & beer needs during our stay. Both my girlfriend and I are not breakfast eaters on vacation. We did have breakfast the last morning while checking out and it was fantastic. We were both served a very good portion of yogurt, granola and fruit followed by a spinach, feta and tomato omelet or cinnamon raisin pancakes and breakfast sausage. There was also a french toast with blueberry compote option that we did not have. The whole experience was very personable/comfortable and I would go back to Bernerhof in a heartbeat.

We enjoyed a wonderful celebration at the Bernerhof Inn! The Inn is beautiful and Mike and Tina are such gracious hosts! When we arrived we were warmly greeted by them and were given a tour of the house. After we were brought to our lovely room we noticed they had even left us an anniversary card. What a personal touch! We stayed for 3 nights and enjoyed amazing breakfasts each morning - we loved the fruit sundaes! Mike and Tina made us feel as if it truly our "home away from home." Thank you again for a memorable 25th anniversary celebration! Mark and Karen

My husband and I recently stayed at the Bernerhof Inn this past July 2011. Our stay was absolutely perfect! We stayed on the first floor and had a private entrance as well as a beautiful private patio. Mornings were beautiful as we sat out with our coffee on the patio looking into the woods. Our room had a jaccuzi as well as a large rain shower, the bed was very comfortable and upon returning to our room in the afternoon it was spotless. The Inn Keepers could not have been more hospitable, offering to serve breakfast to us on the patio and although they had times listed for breakfast they again offered to serve at our convenience. The food was very good and plentiful. Snacks were put out in the afternoon as well as coffee and tea were available all day. They have a wonderful little bar with beer and wine available. We enjoyed talking to all 3 of the Inn keepers as they were very friendly and helpful with our first stay to the White Moutains. I realy can't say enough about this wonderful place, we had a very relaxing and wonderful time. Although we missed the bear in the morning we hope to catch him next time we visit!

I found the Bernerhof Inn last minute as I stayed on June 15 -16 to run the Mount Washington Road Race. It is a great location for the race - close by but not overly crowded as other hotel venues. The service was great and accomodating with early breakfast to help prepare for the morning race. Highly recommend and I am sure would be a great location for Fall foliage. I would go back again - as it has a great nostalgic/cozy feel. - Greg

My wife and I spent a night at the Bernerhoff as our first getaway since our teenagers were born. And what a wonderful visit! The rooms were great, as was the food for breakfast. But, the best part of our visit came from getting to know our innkeepers, Mike, Tina and Derek! What great people! Hospitality and caring are natural to these folks and I can promise that this may have been our first visit to the Bernerhoff, but it won't be our last. 4.5 stars!!

This bed and breakfast is an absolute treat. My fiance and I stayed one night this past week and we are kicking ourselves that we did not stay longer. The rooms are beautiful, the bed is comfortable and the whole place is newly renovated. Mike and his son took great care of us and are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. They don't have their own restaurant, but there is a great family owned place right across the street (Spaghetti House...great Lasagna) We will definitely be back!

Out of a half-dozen B&Bs we stayed at in New England, this was the best. Our room was very spacious, clean and quiet. Great beds. Thick, padded carpet. Never heard a sound from other rooms. It is next to a major road, but with a/c running we didn't notice traffic. Otherwise a low-key area with small town feel. The inn keepers were the most genuine and friendly hosts we found in NE. Breakfast was above average.

My husband and I just visited The Bernerhof, this was our first time to stay in a Bed and Breakfast and we were quite pleased. We found the Inn to be very charming and were appreciative of all the special touches afforded us during our stay. In our opinion, The Innkeepers displayed the best kind of hospitality; there when needed and out of sight when not. The hot, freshly prepared, from scratch breakfasts were delectable but I would also like to point out that the all day, complimentary goodies were equally delicious and an added value. We found we were full enough to for go lunch. Another reviewer mentioned noise levels, I will say that we too experienced the same issues but fully agree that we would not let that deter us from visiting again. However, if you are particularly sensitive to noise you may want to pack some earplugs. Nevertheless we are confident you will enjoy your stay at the Bernerhof Inn Bed and Breakfast as much as we did.

The Inn was beautiful, very modern. We were impressed the second we walked in. The rooms were very nice, good size for 2 and clean. The breakfast each morning was delicious. We only saw one Inn Keeper, once when we checked in then again when we checked out. The only complaint I would have is very thin walls and the noise from the street outside made it a little difficult to sleep at night but nothing that would make me not go back. i would highly recommend this Inn to anyone that wanted a nice romantic getaway for two. I do not see this Inn being for families.

And we will be back again. My wife and I were so happy with our recent visit to the Bernerhof. We had stayed there many years ago. We knew it was re-done and although we miss the restaurant, the space was so nicely decorated and the pub is still there. The rooms we lovely. Breakfast was great. And an added bonus was the free IPAD use and all the modern technologies. We will return, again and again.

My daughter and I had the occasion to stay at the Bernerhof Inn and we were blown away by every aspect of the Inn. From the moment we walked in the door, we felt "at home". We had read read reviews from both TripAdvisor and Bed and Breakfast before making our reservation and believed them to be very honest opinions from everyone. Although I am sure they were and that everyone has different expectations, both my daughter and I wondered "how can anyone think that this Inn was anything but PERFECT" From the decor, to the outstanding and kind service of the Innkeepers to the Breakfast. The scones were delicious, the breakfast outstanding. And the value--well how can you get a room for $148 to include a breakfast and service worth $200??? My compliments to Len and Melissa. We will be back...

We stayed in February 2011 and were pleasantly surprised by the warm welcome from Len, along with the coziness of the inn. We felt completely at home and had a beautiful room in the Villages of Conway #9. The traffic noise would be my own complaint if you are a light sleeper. You should bring ear plugs. That is completely beyond their control though. When you drive up to the inn at night it is lit up beautifully. We had to video it since it was so enchanting. The breakfast was delicious. Homemade whipped eggs, pancake, fruit parfait. There are also scones and tea that are wonderful. You have to try the cookies in the afternoon as well. The IPad was a nice touch and great publicity for it. It was very user friendly. We are planning another retreat next year and I can't wait!

Where do I begin? How about getting out of the way the only negative: the description for our room having "your own very private seating area on the porch." It was our very own but not at all private. Okay, other than that it was absolutely outstanding and we'll certainly go back, next time with a Jacuzzi in a room. Leonard and Melissa were incredibly gracious and attentive and friendly. The rooms were very clean and just like home with fresh, quality furniture and accents, all beautifully done. Fruit and cheese anytime – gratis. A wonderful touch from Leonard to us: a bottle of champagne and box of wonderful local chocolates within minutes of our arrival. We were very moved… I think he recognized two soul mates fairly quickly. Thanks Leonard. Breakfast was all homemade with meats, eggs, fruits and scones. Good coffee and as always, great service. Didn't get to partake of the self service bar (remember the champagne :) ). We'll definitely stay there on our next trip the White Mountains.

We just returned from 3 romantic nights at the Bernerhoff Inn. My wife and I toured the inn last fall while staying at another inn. The Bernerhoff will now be our first choice when staying in the North Conway area. We have stayed at many of the fine inns in the area, but the Bernerhof, with its wonderful bedrooms, jacuzzis, sitting areas, and pub, has moved to the top of our list. The owners, Melissa and Leonard, are gracious hosts, who yearn to make your stay a wonderful experience. We will be returning before the summer is over, for sure. A special thank you to Cindy, who always made sure our needs were filled. Thank you!

I highly recommend this B and B. The hosts were friendly and accomodating yet let us have privacy and space. The room was beautiful and bed very comfortable. There was a pot of coffee always available , usually with cookies in the daytime or fruit in the am before the scrumptious big breakfast. Because of the location smack in the middle of the white mountains, we were able to easily hike most of the day on both Sat and Sun making for a memorable weekend. Thanks!!

This was our first visit to the Bernerhof with Melissa and Len as Innkeepers. What a change from our previous visit! They have done a fantastic job with the decor: beautiful colors, luxurious bedding, updated bathrooms. The mattress was the most comfortable I have ever experienced. Breakfast, prepared by Melissa and served by Len, was outstanding (homemade granola, yum!) My husband loves gadgets, so the iPad, flat screen TV and computers on every floor made him very happy. Can't say enough about the kindness and generosity of Len who was very responsive to any request we made. We will definitely recommend this B&B to our friends and can't wait to return ourselves.

The Bernerhof Inn was absolutely great. The website is easy to utilize, informative, and portrays the B&B perfectly. It is well kept, clean, and quiet. Breakfast is made fresh and is delicious! I would absolutely recommend Bernerhof Inn to anyone and would stay there again. The only two downsides were that we could hear the road noise from our room, and the bed was squeaky - both very minor cons.

This inn is spectacular both inside and out. The staff were friendly and totally accomodating. The atmosphere is warm and romantic. The bed in our room was extremely comfortable. The food, which was prepared by the owner himself, was out of this world. We cannot wait to go back again. This place is perfect for a romantic getaway in the beautiful area of the White Mountains.
