Rustic & Upscale Bed and Breakfasting

4.6 on November 09, 2017

Fantastic Property with an amazing view. The Hudson River is not accessible from the property, but it makes up for it in comfort, cleanliness, and the amazing combination of Eric and Miriam. The town is less than a mile drive, has many farm to table dining experiences, antique & book shops as well as a couple dessert places. The B&B was comfortable. The house has been traditionally restored, and Eric and Miriam are gracious and attentive. They make every effort to make your stay as comfortable and relaxing as possible. The breakfasts are great, bacon is exceptional and coffee is fantastic. Highly recommend and was a great way to get our feet wet exploring the Hudson Valley.

Room with a View of Autumn

We spent an October weekend at the Renwick Clifton House, which is both charming and beautiful. Our cozy room had a view of the Hudson River - a lovely way to see the morning sun rise. The hosts were friendly and their breakfasts were decadent and delicious. They've made the house comfortable and elegant all at once. The porch was perfect for wine and star gazing at night. There is also a nice little trail at the bottom the hill - seeing a white tailed deer before breakfast was a bonus. I'd highly recommend this B&B for a romantic getaway to explore the Catskills and Hudson Valley region.

Great place to stay

They allowed us to stay for a night instead of required two nights. The place had everything you need and it really exceed our expectations. Breakfast was outstanding and the stay was amazing. We recommend this place.

Beautiful colonial B&B

A very charming home and hosts. Wonderful veranda with a Hudson River view. The breakfasts were tasty and we didn't leave hungry! The walls were a little thin, however, and our bathroom needed some towel racks. Very good location for enjoying the Hudson River Valley and all it has to offer.

Everything was wonderful. Pleasant hosts, comfortable accommodations, delicious food, gorgeous view, delightful porch, cozy/fun library room and sherry, no less. A treat to be there.

Just what we needed - beautiful, serene, peaceful setting

My husband and I spent a wonderful, relaxing, rejuvenating Labor Day weekend stay at the Renwick Clifton House. Eric and Miriam are the perfect hosts - there when needed but not at all intrusive. The house itself is decorated beautifully, ornate furniture and charming rugs, wooden floors. On the first floor there is a living room I spent quite a bit of time in reading, a library/game room and a dining room. There is also a deck with chairs, and we had our last breakfast on the deck. The backyard is almost as big as a footfall field, with two large hammocks, a trail, and bee hives (we had fresh honey from the hives and fresh syrup from the trees). The four course breakfast is stupendous (and you won't be hungry until dinner). I have only positive things to stay about this wonderful retreat.

Simply delightful

We stayed here during the HITS Horse Show as a wonderful alternative to a hotel. The house is beautiful and the view is incredible. The rooms are well appointed and clean. Eric and Miriam were delightful and provided wonderful service, even with my late arrival. Her breakfasts are to die for, especially those scones!! I would highly recommend this B&B and will most definitely stay here again upon returning to Saugerties.

The most wonderful stay!

We were totally impressed by the Renwick Clifton house, and its wonderful owners. They couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating. The house is impeccable and the love that the owners have for the house and accommodations is obvious. The views are magnificent. The breakfasts are gourmet delicious. If you want a relaxing, comfortable, care-free stay, this is the place to go. Dan

Wonderful stay at Renwick Clifton House

We had a nice stay at this inn. Innkeepers could not have been nicer. The inn dated back to 1812 was tastefully decorated. So many amazing details in every room. The back deck which was huge was a great spot to unwind and enjoy the view. Woke up to sunrise over the Hudson River from our room. Breathtaking view! We were welcomed that morning with a 4 course breakfast. Again, the innkeepers made our stay so enjoyable! Will definitely be returning. You will not be disappointed if you consider a visit to the Renwick Clifton House! Edith Puff
