My wife and I decided to get away for our anniversary weekend. We were delighted to stay on the Widow McCrea House. The grounds around the house are beautifully kept and the outside lights accent the exterior nicely. There was a feeling of warmth as you walk into the house and see the beautifully vintage decorated dining room and continues with the very cozy living room with a fireplace. Our room was immaculate, spacious and very comfortable. As if all of this wasn't splendid already, the warm welcome and hospitality of the owner, Lynn, definitely put it over the top. She interacted with us in every opportunity she had and made us 2 delicious breakfasts. Her honey baked grapefruit and french toast are a must! The laid-back pace of the area, the coziness of the Widow McCrea House and the warmth of Lynn were just the experiences we were seeking and thankfully received. We would definitely recommend the Widow McCrea House for a nice getaway.

This is the third time we stayed at the Widow McCrea House and once again it was outstanding, Beautiful and immaculate suite, great hosts, and wonderful breakfasts. And you can easily walk to downtown Frenchtown. My favorite B & B!!

Even though you do get some noise from the nearby street, this is a wonderful place to stay. The rooms are quaint, and the breakfasts worth traveling for. This is my 3rd stay at this b&b and we will be back!

Widow McCrea House was a great place to stay in Frenchtown. I was in the Tuccamirgin Room which is a good size room with a large bath. Everything was clean and comfortable. Within walking distance of Frenchtown which is a cool little town to visit, especially in late September with the leaves starting to change colors. Lynn is a wonderful cook, delicious breakfasts, nice variety and the baked goods could be meals in themselves. She is very welcoming and I enjoyed our conversations. PS While I was working on this yesterday, I hope I didn't send it out accidentally. I was still trying to figure it out and when I came back to this page it was gone. Please delete that incomplete review if that's the case. Thanks

We stayed at the Widow McCrea from 2/18 to 2/20/2017. This was our second visit after 1 1/2 years and we were not disappointed. Beautiful, immaculate, delicious breakfasts and wonderful hosts. We stayed in the Anne James Suite and it is well worth the few extra dollars. Also, the Widow McCrea is a very short walk to downtown Frenchtown, so you can avoid driving when going out to dinner. We look forward to returning the the fall.

The Widow McCrea House is located in a wonderful area of New Jersey, tucked away from the main street to provide quiet and solitude yet close enough to the heart of Frenchtown to take a quick ride or walk in and enjoy the restaurants and shops. There are a handful of nice places to eat with great bars and views, as well as an eclectic ranges of shops offering artistic items and higher end housewares. The WMH has a welcoming and attentive staff with nicely adorned and comfortable rooms. On the first night they offered a bottle of wine as a welcome gift. The breakfast part of the B&B comes with a three-course meal that is plentiful and diverse, with offerings such as roasted grapefruit and challah french toast. If you are looking for a true getaway this is a great place to meet your needs. There is a tow path along the river that is exclusively for walking, running, and bicycling, with bridges and nearby small towns to visit on a short car ride.

We stayed here two years in a row in two different rooms and enjoyed it very much, though one room is very noisy and should be avoided. This year we stayed in the Privacy Suite and while the room is nice enough, it is very noisy. It is underneath an upstairs room and is attached to the kitchen, so early morning food preparation and sounds from the upstairs room until all hours of the morning made for a terrible night's sleep. I would not do that again. It's worth the extra money for the Anne Jaynes room inside the house, which is lovely.

Friendly welcome. Gorgeous rooms furnished with Victorian antiques. (I wouldn't bring small children here.) Parlor for enjoying a fire and the company of others. The only thing the room lacked was a surface on which I could have set up my laptop. Ditto for the parlor. Because of early departure I couldn't experience the three course breakfast, but hostess went out of her way to serve me scones, herbed eggs, and fruit at 7:00. She didn't have to do that, and I very much appreciated it!.

Stood in the cottage for 2 nights and it was worth every penny. Best part for me was the Jacuzzi with the sky view and the breakfast. The breakfast alone tasted like it was from a 5 star restaurant.
