Another wonderful vacation at the mission inn! My boyfriend and I first stayed at the mission inn under the previous ownership of Sue and Ray. Although we were sad to hear they sold, they couldn't have put the Mission Inn in better hands. Wendy and Laura are awesome and we loved the addition of craft beer:). The food is amazing, rooms are beautiful and all the little extras make the mission inn a true standout. Wendy was so kind as to make a few reservations for us. If you're looking for a true vacation, this is the place, The Mission Inn is becoming a tradition and we already can't wait to go back!

We really enjoyed our 3 night visit to the Mission Inn in July 2017. A very special place. Breakfast exceeded all expectations on all three mornings. We will definitely plan to stay there next time we are in the Cape May area. A real find!

Great hospitality from Wendy and Laura for our entire stay. Breakfasts are always a standout here. We also enjoy having the bikes to use at our leisure. The Inn is immaculately kept. We especially enjoy the late afternoon snacks and happy hour. Great work from the entire team and we'll be back next year. Thank you.

My wife and I have stayed at the inn many times. We enjoy the fact that we are always treated like family and are very comfortable. The new owners Laura and Wendy have picked where Susan and Raymond left off ,food is great ,rooms are immaculate and the inn still has that great feeling. We continue to stay at the inn for years to come.

Multiple stays at the Mission Inn, new owners are doing a fine job. Rooms are immaculate , food is great , staff is excellent . We will continue our annual trip to the inn . Feels like home and Cape May is our favorite cape !!!!! Bruce and Marilyn Kolwicz Milford ,Ct.

We have been going to the Mission Inn in Cape May for 12 years. It gets better and better with every stay. The new owners , Wendy and Laura have continued the great service and food with even better enhancements. Now there are even craft beers available 24 hours a day. The food is outstanding for breakfast and the afternoon tea. You cannot do better at a B&B than the MIssion Inn in Cape May.
5 on June 25, 2017
The Mission Inn is the best B&B in the whole world. We spent our honeymoon there 12 years ago and we go back over and over. The new owners have kept up the same standard of excellence that the Inn is known for. Fantastic 2 course breakfasts every day and a many choice afternoon tea. Only a block from the beach and they provide all your beach needs from the beach service. Restaurant information is given and reservations are made for you. Once you spend time at the Mission Inn you will come back again and again.

My wife and I had heard good things about The Mission Inn so when our 20th anniversary rolled around I booked us a weekend visit. To say it exceeded expectations is an understatement. Every room is themed and meticulously decorated by hand. The Inn is rich in its own Cape May history. The food was delicious and our hosts Laura and Wendy couldn't have been more hospitable. The Inn is roomy with plenty of space but still felt cozy. We plan to return again and again!

My husband and I had a fantastic time at the Mission Inn. By far, this B&B is one of the best I've stayed at. The owners take comfort and relaxation to the next level. Between the 4 pm cocktail hour, the treats left out for everyone, and the wonderful breakfast, our stay could not have been better. We are already planning our return trip to the Mission Inn.

Thank you to Wendy and Laura for a wonderful way for us to celebrate our 7 years of being married. Sometimes in life, (I'm sure everyone reading can agree), the daily grind of work, kids, obligations, events, doctor appointments, etc, can become overwhelming. The Mission Inn was the ideal way to disconnect, relax, sip wine, and just be. We enjoyed chatting with other guests and the beautiful rooms. We stayed in the San Francisco room and it was unbelievable. The hot tub was awesome and the room was so relaxing. The decor throughout the Inn is amazing. Thank you to Wendy and Laura for being wonderful inn keepers and making us feel at home. Leslie, the food was delicious. Anyone looking for an escape from your busy life, check out the Mission Inn. We had a wonderful time. Thank you!

My wif e and I have beeen to several bed and breakfasts but there is nothing that compares to the ambiance, the decor, the hospitality, and the all around comfort provided. Laura and Wendy are extremely gracious hosts who go out of the way their to provide for any need you may have. The breakfast is beyond expectations. Snacks, wine, drinks provided. The room Econ is spectacular, unlike anything. New Jersey has to offfer. Along with privacy, each room has a mood enhancing fire place and an amazing in room jacuzzi. Kelly and I wish Laura and Wendy nothing but the best as we plan on only staying at the Mission Inn when we visit the Hersey shore. We consider them friends beyond hosts even though they are wonderful at that as well.

After researching B&Bs in Cape May, we chose the Mission Inn and it was a great choice! The Inn is unique in every way - each room has it's own personality and is hand painted to resemble old California Missions. We felt immediately at home thanks to our host, Laura, who made us feel welcome and like we had known her for years!!! The Inn is located 1 block from the beach and just a few minutes from the Cape May Mall and a great selection of restaurants so the location was great. Breakfast each day was a wonderful surprise as was the assortment of goodies which were put out daily from 4:00-5:30. I would highly recommend the Inn for anyone who is looking for a romantic, relaxing getaway.

We recommend staying here. We plan to be back ourselves, winter or summer. Even in our short stay, we were welcomed and felt at home. The atmosphere is unique but yet still classic Cape May B&B. The hors d'oeuvres and drinks were delicious and, the breakfast was delectable and well presented. We miss the warmth already. Thank you Mission Inn!

We have stayed twice at the mission inn and each time is better than before¿¿ It is a wonderful romantic getaway and the food is incredible!

Such a welcoming place. So comfortable and charming. We love Chris Ming to the Misson Inn. This was our 3rd visit and we booked again on our way home for the summer.

My husband and I stayed at the Mission Inn with another couple for a weekend in January to beat the post holiday blues and had a wonderful time. Wendy & Laura were wonderful hosts and took care of our every need. They even offered us discount coupons to local businesses. There were endless treats and it was so cozy sitting in front of their huge fireplace on a cold, rainy afternoon. We have already made our reservation to return in June and cannot wait.

I grew up in Cape May moving there after the March, 1962 storm with my family. I moved away to go to college ( 1980) and re-settled elsewhere...yet Cape May holds my heart and soul. I have re-visted frequently over the past years. Most recently, in a variety of Bed and Breakfasts in the town. This past weekend my sister and I stayed at The Mission Inn...a building I remember as a child but then as the residence of a local artist. WOW....I think The Mission Inn is my new home away from home! I wanted to put on my P.J's and slippers, cuddle up with a good book and enjoy the fire, the company of Laura and Wendy ( the owners) , and move in! There are not enough words to describe the accommodations, the hearty home made breakfast by Leslie and the warmth I felt during my all to short stay. I don't think I will ever stay anywhere else in Cape May!! If Laura and Wendy are reading this...your hearts will feel the warmth that cape may offers and your souls will be nourished by the seas everyday! Thank you , thank you , thank you!! Kim

We tried the Mission Inn for the first time last June. We had such a great time that we reserved it again for my wife Joanne's birthday weekend last week. We were a little concerned when we saw that the inn had been sold. Our fears went away after meeting the new owners Wendy and Laura. We had a great two night stay and were very happy with the experience. Both Wendy and Laura along with the staff could not have been any nicer. They made us feel like we were home away from home. The rooms are comfortable and well appointed.
5 on January 19, 2017
This past weekend was our first visit to the Mission Inn and it was wonderful. Wendy & Laura were great host and took care of our every need. They were great with suggestions for things to do and even gave us discount coupons to some of the local businesses. The only recommendations I could make are 1 - get a small dog to sit on visitor's laps and 2 - keep some ice cream on hand as all the ice cream places on Washington Mall were closed:-).

My wife I enjoyed another wonderful, relaxing stay at the Mission Inn this past December. It is really a beautiful place and the food and company were outstanding. Wendy and Laura are great hosts. We hope to return many times in the future.

Absolutely amazing! The property is gorgeous equipped with everything you could possibly desire and more! Wine, beer, snacks, port wine and games to name a few. The hosts/owners are incredible and the chef for breakfast is amazing as well! An absolute must if you intend on visiting the Cape May area!

I love food and this Inn is outstanding in that respect. The breakfasts and the afternoon refreshments are gourmet. The rooms are comfortable and beautiful. The new owners are keeping up the standards set by the previous Innkeepers. This is our favorite B&B in the whole world.

The Inn is well kept, the owners are super friendly and accommodating, the rooms are warm and cozy and the breakfasts and apps never disappoint. There's no need to look anywhere else on Cape May!

From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, the warmth and attentiveness shown by Laura was remarkable!!! The Inn is impeccably clean, the rooms gorgeous, the appetizers and food just wonderful! We got a last-minute room during a busy holiday lights weekend. The hosts were amazing, the food was fantastic (both happy hour apps/drinks and an amazing breakfast), and the atmosphere was lovely. The new owners are amazing, and they are doing a great job at running the place. We used the pristine bikes to ride around town, and the house was so cozy! We look forward to continuing to recommend the inn to friends.

As always The room was immaculate. The breakfast was gourmet and the appetizers and hors d'oeuvres were amazing! The owners of the and make you feel like you're at home. They go above and beyond in helping you to make your stay memorable. No matter what room you stay at at the mission and you can't go wrong can't wait to return!

We spent two nights at the Mission Inn from Oct. 10-12, 2016. What an incredible experience. From Susan and Raymond, our hosts, to the staff, we were treated as family not just guests. All our needs were met from having out rooms tidied up before we finished eating breakfast to getting a nightlight bulb replaced. We were treated to beautiful murals not only in our room but also all common areas. Our room was gorgeous and comfortable; plus we had full climate control. The breakfasts expertly prepared by the chef and absolutely delicious. And what a delight to be able to eat on the veranda our last morning. Hors d'oeuvres were served every afternoon. The Inn is located a bit away from the "downtown" area but in is a nice walk and does provide a quieter venue and a long day of exploring Cape May. Finally, Susan and Raymond are excellent hosts. Both engaging and accommodating, they made our stay relaxing and comfortable in every way. The Mission Inn is a "must do" in Cape May. Frank and Abbie Garbe

Staying here should be a earned privilege. Beautiful murals in every room and common areas. Exquisite, delicious breakfasts. Parking on site! Great shower facilities and relaxing baths if you choose. Friendly clientele. Bicycles, a fully stocked kitchen area, home made hors d' ouvers & cookies. Best of all, friendly, caring owners Susan & Ray. A truly relaxing and enjoyable experience.
5 on October 23, 2016
Susan, Ray and their Staff are the very best. They're more like friends than innkeepers. They're warm, friendly, and can't do enough to make your stay memorable. And the food -- fantastic! We always look forward to our stay and have never been disappointed.

The Inn is conveniently located by the beach, near excellent restaurants and the Inn Keepers, Susan and Ray are excellent hosts. Amenities provided (coffee and beverages at any time, snacks and afternoon breaks) contribute to the friendly atmosphere. Would go back again!

Such a great place to stay. The innkeepers/owners are the most thoughtful couple. The food is fantastic and you are made to fell at home.
5 on September 26, 2016
What a wonderful get away! The owners and the property are just lovely! A nice change of pace from the usual Victorian B&B's in Cape May with it's own distinct Mission character.

My boyfriend treated me to a stay at the Mission Inn for my 30th birthday. It was our second time staying here and it was just as wonderful as the first time we stayed last year. Susan and Ray are gracious and attentive hosts and we felt very welcomed during our stay. The rooms themselves are absolutely beautiful and I just love the painted designs on the walls and ceilings. The entire atmosphere is attractive and relaxing and I couldn't have asked for a nicer place to stay to celebrate my 30th birthday! As for Cape May itself; the entire town is a wonderful place to visit. There is plenty to do in a laid-back atmosphere all within a short walk or driving distance. We can't wait to return again!

We had a last minute opportunity to stay at the Mission Inn recently. WOW...what a find. How did we miss staying over all the years we have been visiting Cape May? We had passed the inn many times during other stays in Cape May. The décor and design of the inn surpasses any B&B we have ever visited in Cape May and beyond. The Innkeepers, Susan and Ray are naturals and quickly make you feel as though you are staying with family. Breakfasts are the best and the afternoon happy hours provide great snacks and libations after a day on the beach, shopping or biking. Every amenity that one could want in a B&B and more are readily available. Beach service for chairs and umbrellas included, additional clean and comfortable chairs for early or late trips to the beach, bicycles, storage for wine, etc. are all available and more. The inside and outside of the property are maintained for your comfort down to an immaculate outside shower cleaned twice a day - which I had never experienced. The location is an easy 1 block to the beach. Town is a short walk but located out of all the foot traffic. Ample transportation is available for anyone who would prefer not to walk. This is a "can't miss" property to visit. You will be singing the Inn's praises too if you are lucky enough to stay at the Mission Inn. Bob and Linda, Pennsylvania

This was our 5th straight year at this wonderful bed and breakfast and we will probably be back again next year. Susan and Ray are great hosts and everything you could possibly need is available. I enjoyed my morning bike rides after breakfast and than going to the beach which is only a block away. Met many wonderful people who were also guests at the Inn.
5 on September 08, 2016
We highly recommend staying at the Mission Inn! Susan and Ray are so accommodating and think of all the details. Breakfast is great. They also have an afternoon little happy hour with some great food that was unique. They had great recommendations for meals and they provide bikes, beach chairs, and beach umbrellas that made life so much easier! Looking forward to going back!

Located a short block from the beach and about a mile from the Washington Street mall you will really be in a perfect spot in Cape May. Your hosts Susan and Raymond treat everyone like family and your vacation can begin as soon as you arrive. Beach towels and passes as well as umbrella and chair service at the beach are provided free of charge. There are bicycles to use anytime as well. When you return from the beach there is a nice outdoor shower and wonderful happy hour snacks and drinks available to enjoy before you head out for dinner. The rooms as well as all of the common areas are spotless. Breakfast is always delicious with lots of home grown and local produce included. We have been back 3 times and are looking forward to our visit next year.

I just got back from a girls getaway to celebrate the GIFT of life as my Best friend is 10 years Cancer Victorious. Susan and Ray are unequivocally world class people who make you feel as part of their family. They create a amazing culture and everyone we happen to have met during our stay felt as if we known each other for years. Loved our porch talks during snack time and Leslie who is the amazing chef serves up the best Breakfast you will ever sink your teeth into! Exceptional place and let me tell you the owners are so over the top in everything.. there is no other B&B that can ever top this place..

What can you say about a place that has everything covered for your stay from the moment you get there until the minute you leave. OUTSTANDING!! Ray and Susan are the best hosts, they are friendly and caring while making sure you have the best stay possible. Every room there is immaculate, I have stayed in 3 of them so far and plan on staying in all of them just to experience each room. Breakfast every morning was spectacular, thank you Leslie. The grounds are beautiful, and always well maintained. Afternoon tea and hors d'oeuvres are plentiful and delicious. I can go on forever talking about our favorite inn. Susan and Ray are a second family and we will always go back. Highly recommended, and that is why you will never find a bad review. Thank you and looking forward to our next visit.

My husband and I just got back from our 5th trip to the Mission Inn. It is hard to put into words what this place means to us! Susan and Ray have become not only Innkeepers but friends. From the moment you walk in the door of the Mission Inn you are not only treated like special guests but family. The rooms are decorated beautifully after the CA Missions. The breakfasts prepared by their chef, Leslie are unbelievable! Afternoon hot and cold snacks are waiting for you when you get back to the Inn. Bikes, chairs and anything else you need is included in your stay! There is no other place for us in Cape May than the Mission Inn. They have set the bar very high for any other bed and breakfast anywhere for us!
4.8 on August 19, 2016
The Mission Inn is absolutely the best! I've stayed there twice, once on a girlfriends weekend and once with my husband. Boy stays were extraordinary. Susan and Ray run a wonderful place - all the guests at my last stay were return visitors which is a testament to the quality - met many people who come every chance they can. Their long time staff is a testament to the wonderful people they are as well!
5 on August 18, 2016
So happy to have returned to the Mission Inn. This is our second time, and it is fantastic. More importantly, we were greeted with a "the kids are home" welcome. This is exactly what it feels like when staying at the MI, that you are staying with family (except they cook much, much, much better breakfasts). See you next Summer....
5 on August 11, 2016
Once again, this is our favorite trip of the year. The Mission Inn is first class all the way. Ray and Susan, the innkeepers, go above and beyond to make all guests feel like family. They provide so much more than other B&Bs. Gourmet breakfasts every morning - never duplicated in the 6 years we've been going. Rooms are exquisite. Kitchen is available and stocked 24/7 (tea, lemonade, wine, soda, baked goods). They provide afternoon snacks - a selection of hot and cold. They provide bikes, beach chairs, beach tags, umbrellas - and you can also get an umbrella and beach chairs at the beach - for free - just show your room key. The Mission Inn is one block off the beach, easy walk to town and lots of places to eat and shop. Enjoy - we do!

My husband and I were so tremendously impressed by the level of service provided by our hosts Susan and Ray and their wonderful chef Leslie. We enjoyed our 3 night stay immensely! Beds were comfortable; the common areas of this home are big and breezy; and the homemade farm-to-table breakfasts on the beautiful veranda are luscious! We were surrounded by nature---the colorful gardens, gentle breezes, sounds of the ocean. Susan and Ray were the perfect hosts: Susan provided an important comprehensive welcome tour that included showing us the locations of the complimentary bikes; all of the complimentary 24 hour beverages and homemade cookies (jar was never empty!); games/puzzles; and tour guide books. The breakfasts were sumptuous and served hot out of the kitchen by their friendly chef Leslie. We had a wonderful bacon/arugula/peach grilled sandwich on whole grain toast one morning and a cherry clafouti (like a cobbler) that were some of the best breakfasts I've ever eaten. Each morning began with fresh seasonal fruit and unlimited coffees and juices. Ray and Susan were both available during our weekend breakfasts with a kind word and tips about the locale. They struck the perfect balance between host, tour guide, and concierge and now we are pleased to call them friends. They have thought of everything, leaving no detail regarding their guests' comfort to chance and, unbelievably, they make it look effortless! Hats off to you Susan and Ray! This beautiful establishment is only a stone's throw from the beach and an easy bike ride to town (with complimentary bikes!) We'll certainly be going back. Thank you Susan and Ray!

This is our 4th trip to the Mission Inn and it truly gets better and better. There are more amenities such as concierge service on the beach. Reservations for favorite restaurants are made on your behalf..no need to scramble...the food becomes more exquisite....gourmet does not do it justice...mid day "appe-treats" (as I will call them).willl satisfy the most discriminating palate...imagine coming in off the beach....hands free of course...an outdoor enclosed shower and fresh towels await you......get rid of the sand..and walk up to the covered veranda, a plate full of treats and a glass of wine...gets you ready for a beautiful journey into town and a fantastic meal. As bikes are provided (along with beach passes!)....you ability to explore Cape May secret hiding places become unlimited. For those of you who need even more pampering...check out the 10 head....10 head shower experience...you may never leave!

I am an engineer. And as you would expect I had a spreadsheet of websites with different criteria and ratings that I was looking for in a B&B. I simply wanted our vacation to be PERFECT. After I spent way too much time looking at everything in the area I picked The Mission Inn. I still wasn't 100% certain of my decision. However, my concerns were put to ease even before we arrived. They sent us an email asking for details of our arrival time and any dietary restrictions. Everything was perfect; from the beach bikes available to the beautifully laid out rooms. I hope you trust all the time I spent investigating for you. We will DEFINITELY stay here again when we are in town.

The title of this review says it all. From the time you walk in until the time you regrettably have to leave, you feel like you are at home, except everything is provided for you....including bicycles, beach chairs and beach umbrellas, and beach towels.... Just bring a simple change of clothes and a tooth brush. Breakfasts to die for....croissant French toast stuffed with blueberries and cheese. Susan and Ray are so much more than gracious hosts....this is their passion! We will be back!!!

The owners are like family. We have been visiting the Inn for 8 years. We have stayed in 4 rooms, each one offered a different appeal to us due to the time of year and amount of luggage! We have formed a relationship with the staff and Leslie's breakfasts are amazing. Our calendar is out so that we can choose our next visit.

The Mission Inn was AMAZING!!! It was clean, beautiful, and full of incredible detail. The hospitality was unparalleled, and we felt welcome from the first time we walked thru their doors. Our stay was lovely, and our only regret was that we could not have stayed longer! Breakfast was a special treat every day, with the chef (Leslie) tailoring meals to everyone's specific tastes/needs. The proprietor/owner (Susan) was so in tune to the needs of her guests, and she went out of her way to make 100% sure that we had everything we needed. He goal was nothing short of making sure every guest had a perfect stay.

Susan works hard so you don't have to! She and Ray have anticipated all your needs and provide a welcoming and comfortable experience. The friendly and superior service makes a difference! Beautiful, clean beach with chairs and umbrellas provided just one block away. Cruiser bikes (it is flat!) make it easy to tour the Victorian neighborhoods. If I didn't live 3000 miles away, I would be a regular. Just lovely.

We have stayed at the Mission Inn at least three times and it gets better each time. It is like being home. Susan and Ray are the best. They make you feel like family. There is nothing that need that they don't have ....towels, bikes, chairs and umbrellas at the beach, great afternoon tea (or wine which is always in the frig if you want it). It was three years since our last visit but it won't be that long again really missed them.

I can't say enough good about our stay at The Mission Inn. From the moment you pull up to the house you are blown away by how beautiful the property is. Each room inside is decorated to the nines, but still manages to feel completely comfortable. The owners, Susan and Ray, are extremely welcoming and know a TON about the surrounding area, so they can help you find the perfect place to eat or activity. You get a lovely tour of the property when you arrive, which is necessary because there are so many amenities to take advantage of. There's a fridge with pitchers of lemonade, iced tea and wine and cans of soda; a coffeemaker, tea, hot chocolate, pastries, popcorn and more all available for you to take any time. There's an afternoon "happy hour" with gourmet snacks laid out. There's a giant TV with a wide selection of DVDs, tons of board games, bikes to rent, beach passes to take advantage of...you will definitely never be bored. The room was quiet, clean and the bed was so comfortable we had to ask Susan what type of mattress it was. I can't recommend this place enough.
4.8 on June 26, 2016
The Mission Inn was truly spectacular. The rooms were beautifully decorated and clean. The service was unmatchable; I've never felt more welcomed and cared for. The location was great, just a block from the beach and a $10 cab ride into town. The breakfast on Sunday morning was incredible, three unique plates that were equally tasty. 5/5 stars.

Just wrapped up our 3rd stay at the Mission Inn and it continues to be outstanding. Every detail is thoughtfully arranged with guest comfort in mind. The rooms are gorgeous- each hand painted with unique detail. Romantic touches are everywhere, including in room fireplace and gorgeous two person shower. The breakfast and afternoon hors devours are always delicious and beautifully prepared. The amenities are great- beach chair service and a fridge stocked with wine to name a couple. And Susan, the Owner, creates a warm and friendly atmosphere. Absolutely One of my favorite places to stay.

This was our first B&B stay and I think it probably ruined any other stays that are not "The Mission Inn". The Hosts were absolutely awesome. They are extremely friendly and always looking to make your stay relaxing and enjoyable. The Breakfasts was out of this world and the town was a very nice relaxing couples town. We will be back because any other B&B I fear will be a disappointment.

My wife and I celebrated our 38 wedding anniversary at the Mission Inn over the Memorial Day weekend. Raymond and Susan, the proprietors, were excellent and made our stay memorable. The Breakfast meals were excellent and they also provided evening snacks. The Mission is is located a block from the beach and they provided us with beach passes to use as well as umbrellas and chairs. Would not hesitate to recommend this B&B to anyone

The utmost attention to every detail and the highest level of hospitality you will find anywhere. I proudly refer to the Mission Inn as my "second home". The innkeepers have an extraordinary commitment to service. You will be treated like family.

We just returned home from another visit to the Mission Inn in Cape May. This is our 4th visit and each time is perfect. When Susan greets you at the door with a "welcome home" she truly means it. The Mission Inn is our home away from home in New Jersey. There are so many great reviews and everything they say about The Mission Inn is true. From the rooms, to the service, to the cleanliness there is perfection. We think the real difference, however, is in the hosts, Susan and Ray. They are the most gracious and welcoming people we have ever met at any B & B, hotel, or resort at which we have stayed. They are 100% genuine; no pretense at all. We feel like family. We would be remiss if we didn't give a shout out to Leslie the cook who comes up with spectacular breakfasts every time. Her meals are creative and delicious. The afternoon snacks are unbelievable. Thank you Susan and Ray. You can count on us returning soon.

We absolutely love the Mission Inn. We recently stayed for the second year and will continue the annual tradition. The inn is gorgeous. Rooms are beautiful and common areas are warm and inviting. Susan and Ray are the most gracious hosts and make everyone so comfortable. When you check in, they welcome you "home". Staff is wonderful and breakfast is outstanding! Afternoon "snacks" are more like an array of appetizers, red and white wine before you go out for dinner. When you return, there is a freshly home made dessert waiting for you. We will make the Mission Inn our annual tradition. Carol & Vince, May 2016

My wife and I made a last minute reservation to the Mission Inn as the weather forecast predicted a mostly sunny weekend. Well, that was not the case; it rained all weekend! Regardless of the weather condition, our stay at the Mission Inn made our weekend in Cape May a very special getaway. This was our third stay at the Inn and we were extremely happy with our accommodations. The room was simply beautiful, the food (breakfast and happy hour h'orderves) was excellent, and Susan and Ray (owners) made us feel right at home. We will definitely be booking another stay very soon.

From the moment we walked in, we knew we came to the perfect place, Susan and Ray are the perfect hosts, this place is amazing, the gourmet breakfast was delicious and our room was BEAUTIFUL. We were a bit nervous, never stayed at a B&B, but what an experience, felt like we knew them for years and made us feel right at home. People that stay anywhere else are missing out on an amazing experience! Can't wait to go back!

A great place to get away from everyday life. Susan and Ray are the best. This was my fiancé and I first time staying at a bed and breakfast and we didn't know what to expect. We loved it, very cozy and relaxing, the room was spacey and very nice. Just had a little misunderstanding with the lady who cooks for breakfast who said something that was disrespectful and I'm sure she wouldn't had said to anyone else who stayed there but other than that it's a great place to stay.

Everything is just wonderful. Susan and Ray are nice and sweet. This is the best BNB we have been to.
5 on March 16, 2016
The Mission Inn is fabulous. Susan and Ray are welcoming, genuine, sincere and accommodating. You feel like you are home with family. The inn is gorgeous and has a calm and peaceful energy. When it's time to leave you feel relaxed and rejuvenated. Our first experience at the Mission Inn was in 2003 and we went again in February of 2016, it was everything and more when we returned. Thank you Susan and Ray ~ you are the "best."
5 on March 09, 2016
My husband and I recently stayed at The Mission Inn and this is not your average Bed & Breakfast. Susan and Ray go over the top in making sure your stay is perfect. They have everything you could possibly need from your homemade gourmet breakfast right down to appetizers and baked goods throughout the day. The Inn is decorated like the California Mission so it is not your average Victorian style Bed and Breakfast. That is what makes it so unique. I can't say one bad thing about our stay. It was absolutely wonderful! I would definitely stay here again.

This is the fourth time my wife and I have stayed at the Mission Inn. We will not stay anywhere else in Cape May. The rooms, atmosphere, cleanliness of the Inn, the breakfasts and afternoon hors d'oeuvres are outstanding. Susan and Raymond treat you like you are part of their family. The decor of the Mission Inn makes you feel that you are in one of the California missions. Thank you Susan and Ray.

I visited Cape May for a weekend escape with my Valentine, and we Fell In Love with the Mission Inn. I can tell you first hand this is a Great B&B. A GREAT B&B ! Our first time here and we couldn't imagine a better place to stay, in Cape May or anywhere else. Fabulous atmosphere, superb accommodations, impeccably detailed decor, wonderful bed, roomy bath, every comfort you'd expect, delightful breakfast, hospitality second to none, and the overall comfort of home. We felt like we belonged the minute we stepped through the door and were met with a big warm hug. Hugs continued much of the weekend. It seemed like every guest was having the same experience we were... and that led to more hugs. We left the Inn with a few more friends than we had when we arrived. Thank you Ray, Susan, Leslie, and staff. You made our Valentine's escape truly a memory to treasure.

I consider myself a connoisseur on Bed & Breakfast establishments because I have been to so many of them from New Jersey to Pennsylvania to New York. The Mission was by far the best Bed & Breakfast we have stayed at so far. From the beautiful rooms decorated in California style, the kind and attentive owners Susan and Raymond who made you feel like you were part of their family, to the amazing gourmet breakfast. I would highly recommend this Bed & Breakfast. You leave relaxed and pampered it’s a real “don’t miss” experience. Thank you so much Susan and Raymond for a wonder Valentine weekend!!
5 on February 17, 2016
My daughter first went to the Mission Inn and raved about it. My husband and I were skeptical but made the reservations to go Valentine's Weekend (one of the coldest on record!) But you know we had a wonderful time, met extraordinary people and Ray and Susan could not be more helpful and gracious. We along with the rest of guests unanimously agreed we would gladly live there year round. We enjoyed our stay so much that we made reservations after the first day there to return in September.

This B&B is probably one of the best in the country. The place is beautiful with murals painted on various walls throughout the rooms and the common areas. All rooms have gas fireplaces and many have jacuzzi tubs. Breakfast is amazingly good thanks to the chef Leslie. Appetizers are served in the afternoons from 3 to 5 which are also very good! The place is one block from the beach and in walking distance from many shops and restaurants. If you enjoy biking, there are bikes for your use during your stay. The owners (Susan and Ray) are fantastic. They truly make you feel like you are at home and you will want for nothing while there. My husband and I plan to make this an annual trip. We definitely were sad to have to leave!

The Mission Inn is a hidden gem. The California mission theme doesn't quite fit into the whole Cape May Victoriana vibe, but that's a good thing. It's beautiful and cozy and unique. The innkeepers, Susan and Ray, are the absolute best: warm, accommodating, gracious. Couldn't recommend it more highly.
5 on December 16, 2015
If you are looking for a well run B&B than I recommend you try the Mission Inn. The hosts Susan and Ray are wonderful, the rooms are very comfortable and the heated tile floors are great. The inn is very quiet and relaxing and the breakfasts are a real treat. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

Cape May is one of the Bread and Breakfast Mecca's in USA. Our stay at the Mission Inn with hosts Susan and Ray was excellent. They genuinely love what they do. The rooms are very clean, unique, and nice sized. The shower Jaccuzi was a very nice touch. Breakfast was superb. Everything blended very well our palates. Their location is close enough to walk to the many attractions yet far enough away to relax in peace and comfor on one of their decks, patio, or solarium. Hors d'oeuvres are served every afternoon and plenty on site parking. During the summer, they have free beach service. They will completely set up your favorite beach location. This and many other amenities included in your stay. Next year we will taking our friends to share this experience with us. For the price it's no wonder why they are rated number three in Tripadvisor.

There was absolutely nothing wrong with the few days we spent at the Mission Inn! Not one single thing! Susan and Ray are Aces not just as Innkeepers, but as people! They helped us to do a lot of relaxing in the short period of time that we had. The Mission Inn is a must!!!

My wife and I just returned home from our third visit to the Mission Inn in Cape May. The title of the review really sums it up. The Mission Inn is perfect. From the time you walk in the door until you leave you feel totally comfortable and at home. There is no stuffiness, or pretentiousness at all. Hosts Susan and Ray welcome you as a returning family member, and the welcome is absolutely heartfelt. If you've not visited here before, please go. Whether you're there for the first time, or returning, you'll be treated as family. We'd also like to mention two other people who assist Susan and Ray. Janet, who showed us our room was just as welcoming as Susan, and just a wonderful person to talk to. You will think you died and went to heaven when you eat Leslie's unbelievable breakfasts. They are delicious and incredibly creative. We've actually used some of Leslie's ideas for guest at home. We stayed in the San Diego de Alcala room this time. All of the rooms are great. You really can't go wrong. Then entire Mission Inn is modeled on Spanish missions, and is just beautiful, and such a nice change from overwhelmingly Victorian Cape May. Bottom line...go! You'll not regret it.

A very warm and friendly place. The hosts make you feel at home. The food is extraordinary. A beautiful inn in a wonderful location. It offers everything you need for a seaside vacation. Hosts are knowledgeable about the area - happy to give recommendations for dining and even simple things like where to park. I will return and highly recommend this extraordinary inn.

My boyfriend and I recently had the pleasure of spending a night at The Mission Inn B&B. We were greeted warmly by the owner upon our arrival, given a tour, and offered hors d'oeuvres. The interior design in each of the rooms and in the common areas is unique and beautifully done. There were plenty of brochures and maps in our room to help us plan activities to do during our stay. This was our first trip to Cape May and we enjoyed it immensely. It's a beautiful area and there's so much to enjoy that our only regret is that we couldn't have stayed longer! We hope to return and would definitely recommend The Mission Inn to anyone planning to visit Cape May.

The Mission Inn is truly a unique retreat. The staff are remarkable and have the perfect balance of being there whenever you need but discreet when you don't. The place and innkeepers cater to your every need and by the time of departure you feel like you are leaving family. The breakfasts and afternoon hor'douerves are unparalleled. This is a must visit spot..A very special treat for all who visit.

Our stay at the Mission Inn was wonderful as always. Warm welcome from innkeepers Susan and Ray, friendly, interesting guests, creative and tasty breakfasts (care of Leslie) and late afternoon appetizers (care of Janet). Beautiful murals and architecture. I discover new things each time we visit. Comfortable, roomy, plenty of extras, such as the shared refrigerator (great for storing leftovers from last night's dinner for lunch today, after heating them up in the microwave, plates, silverware and glasses provided), snacks, lots of information and advice about the Cape May area. The Mission Inn is unlike any other place we've been in it's warmth and creative atmosphere. We always leave with a smile, looking forward to our next visit, next year. Can not say enough. Wonderful! Keep coming back.

The Inn is very pretty. One complaint, the room was very small and the bathroom was tiny. It couldn't even fit the sink. My sister had another room which was larger and had a huge shower. Beyond that, the Inn was lovely and had free bikes, beach chairs, umbrellas and bikes for free. Nice robes too.

My husband and I just celebrated our 15th anniversary and decided to try out a new B&B, the Mission Inn. We were completely swept off our feet at the amenities offerred, the cleanliness and hospitality received by Sue and Ray. Our stay was wonderful and we plan to make this our Cape May home away from home!

The Mission Inn is the best B&B I've had the pleasure of visiting. Just eight rooms, but exquisite attention to detail, with artistic flourishes throughout. Located a block from the beach, and fully prepared to enable guests to enjoy the many treasures of Cape May. Hosts Susan and Ray are gracious and welcoming, and cook Leslie offers creative morning starters that transcend the norm. Highly recommended.

This was our third visit to The Mission Inn and it was as wonderful as the first two times! Susan & Raymond could not make you feel any more welcome . You are truly part of their family . The rooms are absolutely beautiful and meticulously maintained. The entire staff is wonderful and the breakfast prepared by Leslie are the best and most unique breakfast that we have ever enjoyed at a B&B ! It is no wonder that they have such a high ranking as a world class B&B.

Ex-Residents of California AND of Phoenix Arizona, it was like returning to visit many of the missions depicted on the walls of the inn which we visited, attended mass ,and in the case of our 2 years in riverside, Ca where., our children attended Catolic school in an aged mission school/church. The inns owners are genuinely concerned for the happiness of their guests and the breakfast was uniquely outstanding. Spent 2 of our anniversaries including our 51st at this fascinating inn. A short walk to the ocean completes your stay. Cape may also has several quality restaurants for lunch or dinner.A MUST FOR INN LOVERS!
5 on August 21, 2015
Five stars for this wonderful experience. Fresh breakfast each morning - customized for dietary issues, appetizers in the afternoon which were high quality eats, a refrigerator full of free drinks, free chairs and umbrellas set up for you at the beach, free beach passes, free access to bikes, and on and on! The rooms were large in size and didn't have any musty smell that some rooms have at the beach. Beautiful common areas. We are coming back!!

This is our 5th time staying at the Mission Inn and it was once again a wonderful experience. We started coming to Cape May in 2009 and ever since we found the Mission Inn in 2010, we couldn't imagine staying anywhere else. The grounds are beautiful and very well maintained and Susan, Ray, and their staff are always very friendly and helpful. The food is also very delicious and they go out of the way to make sure any special dietary needs are met. They've added a new beach service this year that makes getting setup on the beach very easy and is a nice addition to the many amenities they already offer. We would highly recommend staying at the Mission Inn for you next Cape May visit.

This is our 4th stay with The Mission Inn. This will be an annual trip for the two of us and we look forward to it all year. No other B&B can compare. The Mission Inn offers everything you could want and then some. The breakfasts are NEVER the same and always both delicious and beautifully presented. Afternoon snacks also are different every day, both hot and cold, and not to be missed. Rooms are amazing!
5 on August 06, 2015
Susan and her team always make us feel at home, we look forward to our return every year. Leslie's breakfasts are unmatched, I'm a picky eater, and she always seems to expand my palate and make awesome dishes. We always enjoy our stay at the Mission Inn.

We had our first ever bed and breakfast experience at The Mission Inn in Cape May New Jersey last week and we will never stay at any other place in Cape May after this experience. Susan and Ray are wonderful innkeepers and their B&B is immaculate. Every room is exceptionally clean and the house is so warm and welcoming. The attention to detail that has been put into the home is incredible. The paintings are beautiful all throughout the home. Every morning was a treat when the chef Leslie brought our breakfast to us while sitting outside on the veranda. The fruit was so fresh and the breakfast dishes were off the charts good. There is a beach service so you don't have to drag chairs and umbrellas back and forth. You just walk to the beach and tell them you are with The Mission Inn and they bring the chairs and umbrella to you and then you just leave them there when you leave the beach. Everything about The Mission Inn is off the charts and we highly recommend this bed and breakfast. Anyone who spends anytime there will not be disappointed. When we first arrived, Susan welcomed us home and that is exactly what our time spent there felt like. We were so spoiled! We feel badly for all the other B&B's out there because it will be next to impossible to top our experience at The Mission Inn. We will be returning there every time we visit Cape May NJ.

The Mission Inn was perfect once again. This was our second stay and everything from the room to the food to the staff, was excellent. Susan is the hardest working innkeeper in the business. She has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to Cape May, any questions, ask her. There is a reason that the Mission Inn stays atop the charts as the #1 B&B in Cape May, just stay a few days and see for yourself. Scott R.

Went to the Mission Inn for our honeymoon 10 years ago and returned for our 10 th anniversary. We have been to a lot of B&B's in Cape May and this one is the best. Susan and Ray are gracious hosts and want everything to be right. The breakfasts are excellent and the afternoon refreshments cannot be beat. All the rooms are comfortable and the common rooms are equally fine. Add in the bicycles, towels, beach umbrellas and chairs and you cannot have a bad time. Our favorite B&B!

Our recent off-season stay at the Mission Inn in Cape May, NJ quickly became our "annual anniversary getaway!" Innkeepers Susan and Ray are warm, welcoming, beyond accommodating - they and their staff were consistently friendly, went out of their way to go above and beyond in every conceivable - and many surprising! - ways. We will be back year after year, again and again - what lovely memories, the gorgeous accommodations, hospitality and feeling of instantly being enveloped in a familial home had us wishing we didn't have to leave!

My husband and I stayed at the Mission Inn to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We have stayed here before, and each visit exceeds our expectations. The rooms are cozy and comfortable, with all of the amenities you need from the basics (shampoo, soap) to the luxurious (robes, spa tub, fireplace). The breakfasts are delicious - often, we like to try different places for breakfast/brunch, but the chef who prepares the breakfasts here is so amazing, we really see no need to eat anywhere else. The hosts, Raymond and Susan, are absolutely wonderful. They make you feel so welcome, and are present but not overbearing. Truly the perfect balance when staying at a B&B. We truly enjoy every stay we have at the Mission Inn and can't wait to go back again soon.

The Mission Inn is a true gem! My fiancee and I stayed at the Inn 3/20/15 and 3/21/15. From the moment we made the reservation to the moment we walked out of the Inn's doors, everything exceeded our expectations. On the day we were supposed to check in, a snow storm hit northern NJ. We were afraid that we would not be able to make it to Cape May due to the weather. Ray, one of the owners, called us and assured us that he and his lovely wife Susan would be there waiting for us whenever we arrived. We arrived over an hour late, yet Ray and his wife accepted us with open arms. Upon arriving, Ray gave us a wonderful tour of the property. All of the rooms are gorgeous. Ray and Susan pay attention to every single detail and it definitely shows. We were staying in the Santa Barbara room. The Inn's common rooms are also lovely areas. The main common room has a refrigerator for guest use, a Keurig machine, sweet treats on the counter, a large selection of games and various movies to be used by the guests. After an unforeseen plumbing problem arose in our shower on the morning of our second day, Ray showed us the other available rooms and let us chose which one we would like to switch into. He was apologetic about the switch and made sure that we were comfortable in our new room, San Francisco de Asis. The San Francisco de Asis room has a gorgeous beamed ceiling and a two person jet tub. Breakfast each morning was delicious. You eat in a lovely room with the other guests staying at the Inn. Since I do not eat meat, Ray and Susan were gracious and made accommodations to my meals. The Mission Inn is true work of art. The property is immaculate and clean, the owners are welcoming and accommodating and the location is one of a kind (a two minute walk from the ocean!). We recommend it wholeheartedly without a single reservation!

Thank you Susan and Raymond for making our 20th Anniversary memorable! We stayed in the San Diego de Alcala..loved our room. It was very spacious and immaculately clean! We got to see the other rooms...a couple of them where just a bit smaller but they were all gems! The owners were very friendly, informative and passionate about what they do. Last but not least, breakfast and hors d'oeuvres were delicious and very filling. Best B&B we have ever stayed in. San Francisco de Asis is our next stop!!! Can't wait! Ozzy & Heidi 3/2015

Our room was exquisite, the main part of the house is so inviting and our afternoon appetizers and Port Wine ( which is available all the time) was lovely. Susan and Ray are gracious, caring and warm people who truly care about their visitors and their home. It's a good walk to downtown, only a block from the beach (the quieter part). We will be back for sure. There's nothing quite like the Mission Inn in Cape May..a true must stay

The MIssion Inn was our first experience at a b&b. I am scared to book at another inn as I am scared that it will not compare...The inn was decorated tastefully for the holidays. Snacks and breakfast were prepared with love and they were accomodating to all of my food allergies (which is especially appreciated). We were welcomed and left with a feeling as though we were a part of their family... A must stay!

My husband and I needed a quick getaway to unwind. After much research, I was surprised to find out that one of the top BandB's in the entire country was right in our state! I had to experience it for myself. The Mission Inn did not disappoint. Susan, her husband and staff lived up to their much deserved reputation and more. Susan is so welcoming and pleasant. She instantly makes you feel at home. She is very thorough and covers all necessary details including restaurant recommendations and reservations. Food: The breakfast was amazing both days and don't even get me started on how wonderful the late afternoon/evening hors d'oeuvres were!! The oatmeal cookies were to die for and my husband loved the brownies accompanied by a nice glass of port. Room:We stayed in the San Francisco de Asis room for two nights. We loved the room because it was spacious with high ceilings and a Jacuzzi tub. We melted into the bed every night thanks to the most comfortable mattress topper I have ever encountered. After touring the inn, I can see why people say every room is a good room. You can not go wrong with the Mission Inn! We can not wait to return and after hearing about our unforgettable experience, my parents want to stay here as well. I just wish we would have stayed one or two nights more!

We have stayed at the Mission Inn at least 6 times now and hope to return once a year.

Unique, warm and friendly, great breakfasts and afternoon hors d'oevres. Comfortable rooms and comfortable common areas both inside and outside. This is a wonderful place to visit. A destination itself. Also much to see and do in the Cape May area and Susan and Ray are full of helpful suggestions if you run out of ideas. Just wonderful: the inn, the inn-keepers and the Cape a May area.

I planned a sunset proposal in Cape May followed by a weekend at a Bed and Breakfast, and things couldn't have been more perfect. The Mission Inn met and exceeded my expectations from the second we walked through the door. Ray and Susan go above and beyond in every way possible, reaching a level of hospitality that other business owners could only dream of achieving, and they do it so naturally. Words cannot express the amount of gratitude I have for all that they have done for me and my fiance to make our weekend truly memorable and enjoyable. From the warm welcome upon arrival to the hug goodbye and everything in between, The Mission Inn deserves not 5, but 6 stars. We cannot wait to return to our new home away from home in the years to come!

Our sixth visit was wonderful as usual. We can't wait for number seven.

We always have a wonderful time at the Mission Inn. The host and hostess are fabulous, the rooms are very comfortable and delightfully decorated. The breakfast is excellent as are the refreshments served every afternoon at 4:00. The staff are also great. We have a very relaxing time when we go to the Mission Inn which is much needed with both of us having stressful jobs.

Loved the Mission Inn. Friendly, clean, warm, welcoming...will go back!!!
5 on September 07, 2014
It began with the warm welcome by Susan and a personal tour of the property and facilities. Since this trip was our first to Cape May Susan made excellent suggestions for what to do and where to eat. She made us feel very welcomed at her home. If the Mission Inn is not on your bucket list, it should be

Susan & Raymond were perfect hosts. The breakfast was unique & different everyday. The San Diego de Alcala room is very nice with the 2 person jet-air tube & oversize spa shower. You're just a block from the beach which is great.
5 on September 02, 2014
There was nothing we didn't enjoy. The food was good, the atmosphere was friendly and relaxing. We didn't want our visit to end. Best honeymoon destination for two people to getaway. We will be back for our future anniversaries. Jason and I really enjoyed the easy going, care free attitude the hosts displayed. They were very helpful if we needed anything. They had everything we could think of covered. Thank you for such a nice time.

The Mission Inn is that rare perfect blend of warmth and excellence. Our three day weekend was our first time at the Mission. Even after reading so many great reviews, I was very impressed with just how good everything was. Loved the room (they're all good). Loved the location (one block from beach). Food was amazing. Afternoon snacks included real food and the best brownies and oatmeal raisin cookies ever. Best of all was the commitment to every guest by Susan, Ray and their wonderful staff. If you are going to Cape May, this is the place to stay.

We always love that we don't have to pack anything but our clothes. We can get chairs, bikes, beach tags, etc. The owners are more than accommodating with most requests. We feel very at home there.

I love this B&B. The attention to detail, the coziness, the location to everything. The breakfast is to die for!

Vacations at the Mission Inn are nothing short of pure heaven! Susan and Ray and their staff pamper their guests from the moment they walk through the door until the moment they leave. They provide everything to make your beach stay a true vacation free of all worries. Once you spend time here, you will want to return again and again.
5 on August 11, 2014
My husband and I just returned from another beautiful week at The Mission Inn! We chose this B&B last year based on a friend's recommendation. We were overwhelmed by the hospitality, service and whole experience. Susan and Ray treat you like a family member home for a visit. They can not do enough for you to make your stay in Cape May the perfect romantic getaway. The breakfast prepared each morning by Leslie is scrumptious. The afternoon snacks and wine are a great way to unwind on their large porch from a day on the beach, shopping or touring the many other attractions Cape May has to offer. Everything you need is supplied by the Inn: bikes, towels, beach chairs, umbrellas. The rooms are beautifully decorated and the staff or as we like to call them, the "Room Fairies" kept our room immaculate from start to finish. If you are looking for a place to stay that treats you like one of their own, try the Mission Inn. You won't be disappointed! We hope to return year after year!

We needed a place to stay for one night in Cape May. Found the Mission Inn on Trip Advisor, where it was highly rated. The proprietress did everything she could to accommodate our brief stay. The room was clean and appointed with everything we needed. We only wish we could have stayed longer.
5 on July 25, 2014
The mission inn was like a home away from home. The breakfasts, snacks and unlimited drinks were amazing. The room we stayed in was amazing. Susan and her staff were the friendliest and we can't wait to go back again.

My mother and I had a wonderful 4 day stay at the mission inn this July. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable, and the service was absolutely spectacular. Highly recommend it! Nice and close to the beach too.

Reviews can be a nice tool of guidance for vacation advice. Everybody has different taste and opinions. So I am just leaving my review about the Mission Inn, Cape May NJ, really just to send a huge thank you to the hosts Susan and Raymond, who are absolutely and simply GREAT people (along with their staff), and very knowledgeable about making your stay in Cape May NJ a memorable trip. This was our first stay, and we will make sure to return. We want to stress that everything about the Mission Inn is so clean, the premises, the room, the beach gear (looks like new), everything. We had a great use of the bikes too, around town and to the vineyards. The Mission Inn is just perfect. There are so many exciting things to say about it, from the surroundings, the room, the location, breakfast, hors d'oeuvres, anything that is being offered at the Mission Inn: this is the place to go, don't look for anywhere else. You want the perfect get away trip, call Susan. B. rgds, Wine Lovers, from Long Island NY

The Innkeepers, Susan & Raymond, have tended to every detail, in order to create a most welcoming & enjoyable environment. Each room is unique, lovely & comfortable. The breakfasts are delicious, as are the afternoon hors d'oeuvres. Beach chairs & umbrellas, towels, bikes, even rain umbrellas are provided, as are beach tags, with a refundable deposit. The Inn is in a best part of town, close enough to walk or bike anywhere, yet quiet & only a block away from the beach. Perfect! We are looking forward to our next visit to The Mission Inn!

Recently, we stayed with Susan at her home and she welcomed us right in. Most vacations are missed, but happily come to a close for sense of normality. Susan makes you feel as though her house is yours, and she maintains such amazing hospitality that your biggest worry is what to do for dinner. Our vacation was so relaxing that we did not want to leave and can't wait to go back, as her home feels like ours and we left a little piece of our heart with her and in Cape May. We are so happy to find her and her wonderful bed and breakfast.

A most luxurious B and B where the hosts take great care to cater to individual needs. The rooms are beautifully decorated and extremely well furnished and the breakfasts are exquisite. The hosts also provide many additional amenities such as beach chairs and towels to take to the beach and bicycles to ride that one would not normally expect with a B and B.

While I have stayed at many B&Bs in Cape May, I would report that this one has the most unique look and feel. Breathtaking decor with a designer's flare- the artist who decorated the Mission Inn has made the stay feel like a vacation within a vacation. Susan and Raymond ensure that their guests feel 'special' - and the environment they establish inspires a warm feeling between residents who comfortably chat over the best afternoon hors d'oeuvres in Cape May. My husband and I were thoroughly impressed by the breakfast, the hors d'oeuvres, the rooms-- and the extra special oatmeal cookies (always available, along with coffee / beverages) and evening dessert. The rooms are in perfect condition, comfortable with plenty of space to hold your belongings. Thank you Susan and Raymond for your hospitality and your dinner recommendations! We will join you again at our next opportunity!

My husband and I had no doubt that we would be spending our honeymoon in Cape May. We are so happy that we decided to stay at the Mission Inn. The warm welcome from Susan, delicious and satisfying breakfast, and beautiful, romantic setting made for an unforgettable experience. We will definitely be returning to celebrate our anniversary each year! Thank you to the staff at the Mission Inn for making our time in Cape May effortless and completely enjoyable.

Wonderful WELCOMING spotless inn-delicious gourmet breakfast and innkeeper who cater to any of your needs. You will want to come back every year. The Mission Inn sets every standard for how a bed and breakfast should be!

We stayed for 2 nights and had a wonderful time. Susan and Raymond are fantastic and they make you feel so welcome. The breakfasts they prepared were out of this world. It was a totally relaxing experience staying there and we would definitely return for another visit. It was a 1 block walk to the beach and the weather was perfect. If you are looking to stay a few nights in Cape May, I would highly recommend staying at the Mission Inn.

Had a great time. The Mission is so relaxing and just like being at home. The service and the food were outstanding and you could not have had better hosts. We loved it and wouldn't go anywhere else
5 on July 02, 2014
Our stay at the Mission Inn was delightful. The room was clean and comfortable and and we were warmly greeted and cared for by the innkeeper. She gave us excellent dinner recommendations and ideas of what to do around town since it was our first time there. The breakfast was perfect out on the veranda. Fresh and expertly prepared. The location can't be beat - a block away from the ocean - and it's a little out from the very center of shops, etc., so it was quiet without being too far removed from the action. I look forward to going back again sometime.

From the minute we arrived at the Mission Inn Susan Babineau-Roberts greeted us with a friendly smile and a degree of warmth one hopes for from these kind of establishments but doesn't always get. Susan was full of recommendations for things to do and places to eat and went so far as to call a number of restaurants to check on their hours for my wife and I. Our room was immaculate and the southwestern décor was pleasantly understated. There's a DVD player in each room with a collection of films available in the library found in the main sitting room. This spacious sitting area has a number of very comfortable chairs and sofas to sit there and read or just chill out, If you have a meal at the Mission Inn you have the option of eating outside on the veranda or in the dining room and the food is top notch. An added plus is that the Inn is located just two blocks from the beach and three or four blocks from Cape May's shopping promenade. The only negative for me is that I didn't have an opportunity to meet Susan's husband Raymond who is a fellow Civil War buff! Maybe next year.

My stay at the Mission Inn was fantastic. It was the perfect spot to share my wedding night! My husband and I received excellent service from Susan and Ray. They provided Champaign and delicious snacks. Breakfast was always delicious. My husband and I just left a few days ago and we are already planning our next stay there!

5 on June 16, 2014
This was my very first experience staying at a B & B and visiting Cape May. I found both to be a wonderful experience. I can see why The Mission Inn was recently named #3 Top B & B in the country. We had a very enjoyable visit and look forward to returning in the near future.

Susan and Ray are the most wonderful people I have had the pleasure of meeting. They make you feel at home. The whole entire house is extremely cozy. The rooms are exquisite. The food OMG is so delicious and once you open your door in the morning the smell of breakfast is beyond yummy. The beach chairs, umbrellas, bicycles, drinks, baked goods, hor'dorves are just a few more of the exciting perks. We wouldn't imagined a more perfect getaway and will be back time and time again .

Wonderful stay with another couple for 2 nights. The Inn is magnificent and the Innkeepers Susan and Ray don't leave anything to be desired. The Inn is beautiful and stands apart from the rest from the theme to the attention to detail. We can't wait to go back again next year. A job well done! The Mancilla's.

Cape May offers a lot of B&B choice (and we've done many), but the Mission Inn has become our favorite. The owners are the perfect couple for a B&B, warm, outgoing, engaging, and very knowledgeable about the whole area. Can't recommend this place enough!
5 on May 24, 2014
This place is the perfect location if you are looking for a nice relaxing vacation. They have nice, new bikes to borrow for free which is really convenient for Cape May. The location is perfect as its far enough to get away from the traffic and crowds but close enough for a 5 minute walk or bike ride to restaurants. Would definitely recommend.
5 on May 18, 2014
Good bye Victorian. This lovely B&B has a California flair, great breakfast and cocktail hour, wonderful hosts, and all modern conveniences in usually stodgy Cape May. Although somewhat of a walk from the Mall, we walked to dinner there or even as far as the Black Duck and also during the day. I'll be returning next time in Cape May.

My husband and I received this bed and breakfast stay as a wedding present. I have to say that we could not have been any more please with out stay. The owners could not do enough for you and the food was outstanding. We have stayed at other Bed and Breakfasts before but after staying at the MIssion, this is the only place I want to stay.

We just got home from The Mission Inn and although the weather was not great our stay at The Mission was. Susan was by far the best Inn Keeper we have ever encountered. Her food was fabulous and she made us feel like family. If you are looking for a wonderful place to unwind and re-energize this is the place for you!
5 on May 01, 2014
This is the second time that I have stayed at The Mission Inn at Cape May, New Jersey. It is the loveliest Bed & Breakfast! The innkeepers are totally interested in your comfort and satisfaction with your stay! They go above and beyond what I have experienced at any other destination. They take the time to get to know you and to make your stay enjoyable. The property is so unique and beautiful. The food is excellent. There is accommodation for any of your preferences for food and drink. They serve appetizers in the late afternoon and provide beverages, snacks and desserts at all times. The rooms are beautiful and clean with special features like fireplaces in the rooms. They are located one block from the beach and within walking distance to the town for dining and shopping. The room rates are higher than some in the area, but for what you get for your money it is well worth the extra expense! I would highly recommend this B & B to others and will return again myself!

I have been to the Mission Inn last October with my husband for our Anniversary. This past visit was a girls weekend and I could have gone to a local hotel that was hosting a "girls weekend", but after my visit at the inn, I don't think I will ever stay any where else no matter the reason for my visit. Susan and Ray open their home to you like you are family! The place is so comfortable and relaxing! The atmosphere they create is pampering and reviving! The rooms are absolutely beautiful with all of the extra touches! My girlfriend and I ate only 2 other meals for the weekend, we were so full from the breakfast and hors d'oeuvres(plus the oatmeal cookies)! Breakfast was served like a 5star restaurant! If you have any special needs, diets or requests they are so accommodating! We rode the bicycles all over town and was provided water bottles and maps! I am already planning two more visits this year!!! Thank you Susan and Ray! Jeanette

We celebrated our 40th anniversary at the inn and we were not disappointed. The atmosphere, the decor, the food and the service were all wonderful. Susan and Ray were great hosts. The staff were wonderful. We've stayed at several bed and breakfasts, but this has been the best to date.

This was our first time staying at a B&B and we enjoyed it. The room was great. The staff/owners were great as well. They made it a very relaxing and enjoyable experience. No pressure to socialize with guests, just to be there, come and go as we please, and do what we feel like. Food was great and so were the afternoon snacks.
5 on March 27, 2014
Susan and Ray are the finest innkeepers. The Mission Inn is THE place to stay on Cape May. Every facet of this place is fully devoted to customer service and comfort. The rooms are amazing, the food is gourmet and your every need will be attended to. Far better than several 5-star hotels we've stayed at.
5 on March 17, 2014
Stay in luxury with dreams of California Missions playing in your head. All 8 rooms are styled after a different mission and all are a perfect treat for the senses. The owners, Susan & Ray are the perfect hosts and there can not be a better experience in Cape May. We were so impressed with everything that we made another reservation for July before leaving.

We recently returned from a late-February stay at the Mission Inn. We had never stayed at a bed and breakfast before, but knew that it was something we had wanted to try. Though a bit skeptical about staying at a non-Victorian style b&b, the reviews on this website, and many others, made us feel very comfortable in our decision to stay at the Mission Inn. First, the rooms were impeccable - bright, roomy, and very clean! The common areas were warm and inviting. The common “kitchen” was stocked with anything you might need, including many different beverages and delicious cookies baked daily. We were there for two delicious breakfasts. The food was presented as if it were being served in a 5-star restaurant. Our breakfasts included an egg pizza and stuffed French toast. Also, in the afternoon, appetizers were served in the solarium. The appetizers are homemade, but were also quite tasty! Susan went out of her way to make sure there were a variety of different items. We had arrived with no plans for dinner and Susan was able to make wonderful recommendations for places in Cape May and we had delicious dinners on both evenings. Perhaps what was most impressive about our stay were the other guests. We were lucky enough to dine with 3 different couples at breakfast. Each of the couples was there for their 4th, 5th or 7th time! That spoke volumes to us about the Inn! Upon our arrival Susan found out that we were expecting our 2nd baby. Mission Inn hosts many “babymoons” for parents with little ones on the way. Susan and Ray left a bag full of goodies – including pickles – for our now-expanding family on the day of our departure. What a special addition to an already relaxing weekend. Susan and Ray were wonderful hosts making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. We were pampered and spoiled the entire weekend. We cannot wait until we are able to return.

We chose "The Mission Inn" because it sounded a little different than the other B&B's and I was so happy we did. Ray and Susan were terrific. Our only regret was that we didn't stay another day. We would have liked to finish that puzzle we were working on.
5 on December 26, 2013
I suprised my wife a Babymoon getaway in Dec.as a nice suprise and our last trip before our baby in March. Sue & Ray our some of the greatest people I have met on vacation. They LOVE what they do and it shows in the detail of the Mission Inn and there passion for people and creating a relaxing and cozy environment. I have already booked 3 days for August 2014 and can't wait. If your looking for a cozy, clean, unique and cheerful B&B in Cape May this place is a must stay..you won't regret it!

5 on November 11, 2013
My wife and I just returned from our second visit to the Mission Inn. There simply is not a better place to stay than this. From the moment Susan greeted us at the door with "welcome home", to breakfast the following morning, it was just perfection. Many reviews have stressed the amenities, which are all top notch. The rooms are beautiful and clean, the snacks in the sun room are great, and Leslie's breakfasts are delicious. Each room is different, and as many have stated, you can't go wrong with whatever room you choose. The late afternoon snacks are wonderful, and I especially enjoy a glass of port on our return later in the evening. What stands out to us is summed up in Susan's "welcome home" on our arrival. It was not phony, or scripted; it was heartfelt. Whether this is your first visit, or a return visit, she makes you feel truly welcome and valued in her home. She really wants you to feel like it is your home also during your stay. Susan is most informative about Cape May, and interested in what you have to say. You feel like you have known her all your life. We will definetly return again.

We are not B & B people, but I wanted to do something special for our anniversary, so I booked a weekend at The Mission Inn. We were both so pleased with our experience that we will stay again!
5 on October 28, 2013
The Mission Inn is by far, the best Inn we've stayed in. The home is sparkling clean. The staff is friendly and Susan, the innkeeper is knowledgeable about the area. It is a unique inn, close to the beach and shopping! Just remember to book early; it fills up fast!
5 on October 26, 2013
We knew this was going to be different when Susan met us at the driveway and took our big suitcase to carry up the steps. She would not accept "no" when I told her I could do it. She carried it. The premises were immaculate and the bedroom the best we have had anyplace. We wanted to live in the group shower. Such pampering! The meals were top quality. Our only complaint was with the afternoon "tea". The food was so good that it almost ruined our dinners. Anything we wanted was there, even a cell phone charger. This was the finest b and b ever and we can't wait to return. Sue and Al Erlick

I saw all the positive reviews and I thought it was to good to be true. How can a place have so many good reviews? Well, we found out. It is amazing. I don't want to ruin the fun by telling you all about it. I'll just say you won't be disappointed. ;)

On our recent visit to Cape May, we originally intended to stay somewhere on Beach Avenue so that we could see the ocean. Instead, we chose to stay at The Mission Inn on New Jersey Avenue (one block from the beach), and we were not disappointed in the least. The lovely hosts of this most beautiful Inn, Susan and Raymond, could not have been more gracious and accommodating. Every detail was perfect and our every need was anticipated before we could even think to ask. The murals painted on the walls of the Inn are so beautiful and creative. A most delicious and unique gourmet breakfast was served on the veranda (or optionally in the dining room or solarium) each morning and at 4 pm a very substantial and inviting spread of hors d'oeuvres was set out for all to enjoy. In addition, drinks, popcorn, and homemade baked goods were available at all times. The patio in the back of the inn was peaceful and warm, as we basked in the afternoon sunshine reading our books and watching the Monarch butterflies in the gardens. It was hard to tear ourselves away from the Inn so that we could see some of the Cape May sites. We had a memorable September weekend in Cape May and are looking forward to returning to The Mission Inn in the near future.

This is a very lovely and cozy bed and breakfast. The owners, Susan & Raymond, are exceptional hosts. They make sure you enjoy their stay. If you let them know ahead of time your dietary restrictions they will make sure they have what you need. Mission Inn is very allergy friendly. I have a special diet and they met my needs with no problem.

Warm, welcoming, tasteful, a luxury treat to both body, soul and taste buds. Cape May made easy! Easy access to the beach, short walk or cycle tour to down town. Great restaurants in the very close neighborhood. We can't think of a better place to stay. Of course we will be back! It was just perfect.

From the moment we arrived we were warmly greeted by Susan and Robert and the staff and made to feel like family. Our room was amazing with painted walls and ceiling to make us feel like we were in California. No detail was spared. All the amenities (beach chairs/umbrellas, bikes, etc) were kept in pristine condition and we were encouraged to enjoy them all. Breakfast was very delicious and our dietary requests were met with welcome. We can not wait to go back again!

We are recently back from our third stay. As a true testament to the Mission Inn, we were already planning our next visit on day 1 of our vacation. We were greeted by our wonderful hosts, Susan and Ray, and settled into our room just as cocktail hour began. Not the typical cookies and tea, we were served white wine and an assortment of hot and cold hors d'oeuvres. Our hosts made our dinner reservations and then we settled into our comfortable room, complete with fireplace and spa tub. We appreciated that the Mission Inn supplied beach towels, sand chairs, and beach umbrellas...less for us to cart from home. Bicycles are also available for your convenience. We are always impressed with the beauty of the inn. The details of the painting and hand carved headboards are amazing. The gourmet breakfasts are always delicious and the warmth and comfort of the Mission Inn make it our absolute favorite place in Cape May. We can't wait to go back!
5 on September 15, 2013
This was the best B&B we have ever stayed in. The owners take great pride in their Inn and it shows in every respect. So many included amenities to mention but the bikes were one of our favorites. The rooms were beautifully decorated and very comfortable. We were only able to book a room for a single night so we had to stay at another B&B for our second night which was nice but it did not compare to our stay at the Mission Inn. We cannot wait to go back.

This was our first visit to The Mission Inn and it will long be remembered as an exceptional way to visit the NJ seashore. The reviews of all those who preceded us were right on and we can confirm The Mission Inn is amongst the best of the best.

My room was called California de Asis. It was absolutely amazing. The murals on the walls are gorgeous... a must see. You are made to feel at home! The cook is great. Breakfast was delicious. I loved the people. I wish I had stayed longer. Absolutely wonderful... I recommend the experience to all.

We often stay in B & B's when we travel. The Mission Inn is the finest we have ever stayed in. There are no surprises except it surpasses your expectations. So many B & B's show one thing on its internet site, and are unfortunately another when you arrive. At the Mission Inn, what you see on its site is what you get; no, you get more. There is no way to adequately describe how nice it is. The owners really want to "take care of" you, but don't get in your way. They always have a good suggestion for a meal or a place to visit. All of the "equipment" they loan you for your stay (beach bikes & chairs, umbrellas, towels, etc.) are always in good working order. The breakfasts & mid-afternoon snacks are delicious, satisfying, & gourmet. I could go on, & on, & on. ~~Vivian & Steve

Susan and Ray have thought of everything to make a stay here very pleasurable.

I cant say enough about our stay at the Mission Inn. Susan makes you feel at home as soon as you walk in the door. The breakfasts and mid-day snacks were amazing. There are so many "little things" that are taken into consideration that just makes everything about the Mission Inn perfect. If you are going to Cape May, there is no better place to stay.

Our four night stay at the lovely Mission Inn was our second visit. Innkeepers Susan and Ray are the warmest, most gracious hosts and make their guests feel like dear relatives. From the incredibly comfortable beds (and I am 6'8") to the sumptuous breakfasts prepared by Chef Leslie, to the late afternoon appetizers prepared by Janet, it is like being in a mission-themed resort condensed to the dimensions of a B & B. My wife, daughter and I felt pampered and cared for and we will definitely return to this special place.

The Inn is extremely clean and modern, the large community room is comfortable and contains everything you need for either relaxing, watching, reading and playing. Susan and her staff make you feel like family and will do whatever it takes to make you feel that way. Breakfast was always a surprise for your taste buds, kudos to the cook and the afternoon treats were just delicious. The location is perfect close to the beach and away from the noise of town. We have stayed at a few other B and B's in Cape May and so far the Mission Inn is tops.

Susan and Ray have really done everything right at the Mission Inn! From the atmosphere to the gourmet breakfasts, to the rooms and amenities...your stay at the Mission Inn is definitely one you will remember! Susan, Ray and their staff are so welcoming and have a wealth of knowledge to share regarding restaurants, sight seeing, shopping, wineries, etc... The hospitality is second to none!!! We recently spent a week at the Mission Inn and it was truly one of the best vacation experiences we have had! Only one block from the beach, chairs, towels, bikes available for use, plus more. We highly recommend the Mission Inn and will definitely be back again! :)

The Mission Inn is as comfortable as your own home. That is if your home has a gourmet chef and a staff that is courteous and thorough. The hosts, Susan and Ray are terrific. They genuinely care about your experience. Many of the guests come back year after year and are received as if they were part of the family. We will be back! Bob and Mary Jo

If you are looking for a truly unique getaway, PLEASE check out The Mission Inn. The hospitality, food, atmosphere, cleanliness and grounds are really something to experience. It is like staying with family. The inn is close to the beach and shops which is a plus. We had an amazing experience thanks to the owner Susan and her amazing family at the inn. Her chef Leslie makes breakfast an "experience". We can't wait to go back and stay in a different themed room. Each room has its own charm and character. The art work throughout the inn is unreal. There are carved replicas of a different mission above each of the eight beds. You are in for a great experience by staying at The Mission Inn.

My husband and I have been returning to the Inn for many years. Everyone makes us feel like we are coming home. We always request the Santa Barbara Room because we really like the large shower. One year we renovated our own bathroom to be similar to the one we enjoy while on vacation. The innkeeper has provided all the little details from equipment for the beach, to access to stocking the kitchen with drinks and little snacks. We have only been gone for a few weeks and can't wait to go Home again.

Suesan and Ray are terrific hosts. They make everyone feel comfortable. Of course, can't forget Janet. They set the standard for how The Mission Inn ought to run. Everyone is lovely. The food is delish - breakfast and hors d'oeuvres. You feel like it's your own home. Make a reservation now! You won't be disappointed!

We've stayed at may B&B's but this by far surpasses every one of them. The food, location, hospitality, cleanliness and staff were top notch. Susan and Ray are GREAT people and made our baby moon extra special. We will be sure to visit again.

Susan and Ray pay attention to every detail in making your stay as wonderful as possible. The Mission Inn consistently exceeds our expectations. They just don't miss a beat in providing highest quality of services. Simply the best value you can find in the cape.

Excellent....Susan & Ray are awesome hosts. Afternoon treats, breakfast on the veranda, bicycles & beach ware, they have their act together. This is the best B & B we've ever stayed in (anywhere). Their rooms give plenty of privacy, and the common areas are very comfortable & welcoming (your not afraid to be in them). They treat you like family. Jim & Bonnie

Awesome place, host and hostess! We don't like staying anywhere else when we come down to Cape May! The hospitality is beyond compare and it is our home away from home!
5 on July 08, 2013
The Mission Inn is absolutely beautiful and very well kept. Very clean throughout. Susan and Ray are wonderful hosts - willing and able to set up anything you need to enjoy your stay in Cape May, and they are just genuinely nice people. If they can't please you, I don't think any innkeeper will. You can enjoy as much privacy as you desire, yet breakfast and appetizer times can be sociable. Breakfasts were fantastic each day- creative and tasteful. Also liked having quality beach chairs, umbrellas, and bikes available, and the beautiful beach is only a block away. Can't say enough about the Mission Inn. In our opinion, the best place to stay in Cape May. Can't wait to return.
5 on July 07, 2013
We can't say enough about the Mission Inn. The inn is outstanding, from breakfast to afternoon tea, it just does not get any better. The staff is helpful & the cook prepares delicious breakfasts & snacks everyday. We're spoiled, could not stay anywhere else. Thank You so much Susan & Ray, you're the Best! Jim & Kathy Carmello

From maps and suggestions on better places to park while we went about our day, to making sure we had whatever refreshment we wanted while relaxing outside on the porch, Susan and Ray were exceptional hosts. Every room has something to explore with painted ceilings depicting beautiful clouds above walls with filled with adobe buildings. Even the room doors were ornately painted to resemble old wooden doors with iron grill work.

The Mission Inn is unique in Cape May since it is not a Victorian B&B as is the traditional of Cape May, a Victorian town. Rather it is a building recreated with a historic California Missions as the central decorative theme. We love the creativity of the murals decorating every wall, each guest room is decorated to match a different Mission and it's amazing to see the decorative variety throughout the Inn. The creative and uniquely delicious, healthy breakfasts each morning are another favorite. Appetizers at 4pm. Everything you could want is available: beach tags, beach chairs, bikes, knowledgable advice about local places to visit, to shop, to dine......... We love going walking each day at the various birding sites near Cape May in the mornings and then going for walks in the town full of such interesting and historical architecture and finally walking down the boardwalk to view the sunset over Cape May Point with the Cape May Light House in site. The Mission Inn is one block form the beach, several blocks from the center of town, a perfect placement, for us, away from the crowds when we want quiet but close enough to walk downtown and enjoy the activities there whenever we wish and the beach is one block away and not as crowded as it can be closer in to town. The balance is wonderful. So, Cape May is wonderful, but The Mission Inn is truly exceptional.

Ray and Susan couldn't be more wonderful. They are always available and willing to accommodate your every need, including mapping out fun ways to spend your day. The rooms were and absolutely gorgeous, and the breakfasts-just unbelievable. I cannot wait for my next stay in the hopefully near future.
5 on May 30, 2013
We've stayed in many Cape May B&B's and this one truly stands above all of the rest. The Inn is truly gorgeous with absolutely stunning murals throughout the inn- even in each of the bedrooms. My husband and I stayed there over Memorial weekend with our two teenage boys. Even though the weather wasn't great, the Inn experience made it a truly memorable stay. The inn was booked, but we were treated by Susan and Raymond (the owners) like we were the only people staying there - that's how welcome you feel and how much they cater to your needs. The food was very creative and delicious - we looked forward to breakfast each morning and the delicious treats served each afternoon. It is a very close walk to the beach and they provide chairs, umbrella's, beach towels and even bikes (for free). Honestly, we felt part of the "Mission Inn" family and will not stay anywhere else in Cape May (a quote from my kids). We've been won over.

I have nothing but good things to say about our stay at the Mission Inn! Susan and Ray are wonderful. It was our first time to the cape and they helped us get reservations, gave directions and other helpful advice. Breakfast each morning was delicious and filled us up! Our favorite was the Tropical French toast and orange, peach, mango fruit juice. I have an allergy to black berries and never had to remind them. We stayed in the St Francisco de Asis room and it was great as well. The bed was really comfy, and the room was immaculate. Each morning we got up and by the time we got back from breakfast the room was mad up. We decided to go to the beach on our last day and were able to use the beach chairs and umbrellas that the Inn provided. Lastly Susan and Ray also gave us a wonderful gift bag for our daughter who is due to make her appearance this July! They truly made us feel like a part of their family. All in all it was relaxing and memorable! We hope to be able to return to cape may soon and will def be staying at the Mission Inn

The Mission Inn is beautiful and beyond comfortable. It was the perfect spot for celebrating our 25th anniversary. We enjoyed the ammenities of our room, lounging in the common rooms and riding the complimentary bicycles. Breakfasts are superb--especially on the sunny veranda. Susan and Ray are the perfect hosts. We plan to make this a biannual get away place for R & R and some pampering. Linda and Linda

5 on May 08, 2013
I can't say enough about the Mission Inn, Susan & Raymond run a great B & B. From the wonderful rooms to the common room with places to gather to the food, it is all fantastic! This was our second and certainly not last visit to the Inn. You might not think a southwest style Inn fits with Cape May, but open yourself up to life beyond the Victorian B & Bs. The Inn provides so much from beach chairs & umbrellas to bikes or DVDs & books from days away from the beach. Susan can suggest where to eat, what to see, and where to find that special item you've been shopping for to take home with you. The only thing I can say against the Inn is we can't get there enough (& that's our fault not theirs)!

Hospitality is top-notch. Food is memorable. Our favorite place to stay not only in Cape May but along the entire Jersey shore.

My husband and I went to the Mission Inn to celebrate our 23rd wedding anniversary. Once we walked thru the front door and meet Susan & Ray we knew how wonderful our night would be. The Inn is absolutly beautiful with a warm feeling. We will definitly return.

My wife and I just returned from an overnight stay at the Mission Inn for our 32nd anniversary. It is just outstanding in every way. From Susan's welcome at the front door as we arrived, to the superb rooms, to the wonderful breakfast we were treated like family and made to feel so welcome in her home. The decor of the Inn is beautiful with a different mission depicted in each room. We stayed in the Santa Clara and it was wonderful with a great shower and an in-room jacuzzi. The little things really added to the experience, like the great afternoon appetizers in the sun room on the side, and the coffee, tea, and other beverages available throughout the day. I especially liked the port when we arrived back from dinner. The breakfast the next morning was great. Possibly the best omelet I have ever eaten, and I still can't believe Susan remembers all of the juices she offers. There must be around 10 to select from. Susan, and her husband Ray have created a great place to visit, explore, and relax. Every review we read prior to our visit was spot on. Our only regret is that our visit was only one day. We plan to rectify that on our next visit! Thank you Susan and Ray for a great visit.

The wife and I took a little trip to Cape May for our 26th anniversary. We booked a night at the Mission Inn. Our host, Susan, greeted us as we pulled up and made us feel at home the entire time. She was very helpful in suggesting a restaurant to go to that evening. She put out a tasty late afternoon snack for us, complete with wine and other beverages. Breakfast was excellent and very filling. We look forward to returning for a longer visit.

My wife and I planned an overnight stay at the Mission Inn on 3/27 to celebrate our anniversary. From the start of our stay our innkeeper, Susan made us feel very welcome. Our room was awesome. I loved the mission theme but also thoroughly enjoyed all the modern amenities. Breakfast was delicious and very filling. We look forward to returning for a longer visit next time.

Stayed at The Mission during Valentine weekend. Hosts were amazing, the Inn was amazing. As soon as we arrived Susan geeted us, gave us a tour, explained everything clearly and in great detail. The "family room" has a refrigerator available for your personal storage AND all kinds of beverages for the guests, including beer, wine, soda, fresh juice & water. Late afternoon appetizers are set out on the counter. You could make a meal of these. At nite fresh baked cookies are on the counter. Breakfasts were exceptional. Presentation and quality were top notch. The hosts are well acquainted with local attractions and will make all of your reservations, make inquiring phone calls and offer suggestions of their favorite places to visit and eat. We plan on returning this Fall. We have stayed in B&Bs all across the country and rate this Inn in the top 3 of our choices. You will not be disappointed. Ray & Kathy

We were here for out first anniversary and we loved the whole experience. Susan and Ray were charming and friendly. The love they put into everything from the decor to the appetizers to the conversation was terrific. We felt very relaxed and welcomed. I called ahead and had roses delivered and Susan was very helpful to make sure they were in the room waiting for my love. A true gem. Don't let this wonderful experience pass you by. Lori

The fiancée and I stayed at The Mission Inn this past weekend. We were visiting Cape May for the first time with hopes of learning a bit about the area before committing to a full-on move this summer. The Mission Inn is beautiful. There are large common areas downstairs which include: an entrance room sitting area with fireplace; a side room (den) replete with a fridge full of complimentary wine, soda, and fresh appetizers in the afternoon; and a large dining room for breakfast. Susan and Ray have made many modern improvements to the Inn. We stayed in the San Francisco de Asís room. You can get a feel for the room from the pics on their website but when you are standing in the room itself, it is quite an improved experience. The deep jacuzzi tub sports soothing jet streams and bath salts. The bathroom's shower is large and has six different settings that include four low, knoblike shower heads that align to specific upper or lower back muscles. The recessed, electric fireplace is a nice touch that has two settings: "heat" and "just for aesthetics." Take a few steps on the soft, fluffy rug with bare feet and you’ll think twice before collapsing onto the king sized bed. But then again, that mattress topper is tough to beat when your whole body sinks into it. Here's an interesting detail: when you turn the fan on low at night, switch on the desk lamp and the sky painting on the ceiling turns into ocean waves. It's quite tranquil. Susan is also a font of knowledge and can help you with any questions you may have about anything Cape May related. Susan and Ray take pride in their home and their hospitality translates to a happy visit for all who enter. We only stayed for one night and we had a lot to do in just under 24 hours, but the time that we spent at The Mission Inn made us feel at home. Oh, and breakfast was creative, delicious, and tailored to our individual tastes.

Another quickie, one-night in Cape May, proved to be outstanding at the Mission Inn B&B! Susan & Ray treat you, with honored guest status, throughout your stay.Relaxed atmosphere, exceptional afternoon treats, wonderful common areas, plenty of extras for your buck. It is a very impressive retreat for couples to unwind and discover a unique settings, in tastefully appointed bedrooms. Breakfast has an incredibly distinctive and delicious flair on comfort-food. Pampered hospitality exudes from every aspect of the Mission Inn.

My wife and I decided to go back to our favorite Cape May Inn for our 25 year anniversary. We had stayed at The Mission Inn once before and loved it. It was February at the shore and while it was freezing cold outside the warmth of the beautifully appointed MIssion Inn kept us cozy and happy. Susan, Ray and their staff were welcoming and we wanted for nothing. The room, which we were upgraded to was fantastic. A warm fireplace, fully appointed bathroom with two person jacuzzi tub and shower kept us very happy. The beautiful artwork that decorates all the rooms and most of the Inn(including stained glass windows) is so much fun to look at and admire and made my wife very happy. The breakfast in the morning was outstanding and served with total attention to detail by Susan and her staff. My wife and I cannot recommend The Mission Inn more highly and we will certainly be back as soon as we can. Greg Landes

I don't throw 'Outstanding' around lightly, after all, how can you improve on that? However, that's where I ended my train of thought, how can you improve on the comfort, the hospitality and the quality of food on offer at the Mission Inn? Susan and Ray offer their guests a uniquely personal service and clearly take great pride in their work. We'll be back... soon.

The Mission Inn is the perfect place to stay in Cape May. Susan and Ray are gracious innkeepers and they have an outstanding staff. The inn is warm, cozy, and inviting. It's a pleasure to relax and enjoy space in the common areas. The Christmas decorations were exquisite. We were first time visitors travelling with friends who had been there several times. We were very pleased with the entire weekend and would strongly recommend The Mission Inn.

We have been staying at the Mission Inn on Cape May since 2002. At the Inn, the proprietors, Susan & Ray Robers and their staff, never fail to provide the best and most personal service of any inn we have visited. This excellent service brings in guests of high personability and friendliness. And yet, the atmosphere provides one with privacy or friendly interaction, whichever a guest prefers.

I have been vacationing in cape may for 20 years rentig a house or staying at a motel. I have taken the b&b tours but none fit my bill. Several years ago when roaming around capemay.com I saw The Mission Inn. I like the fact that it was not in the Victorian style. We planned a long weekend and had the best experience - making you feel like family, but giving you your space that you felt like friends of the family. The experience is totally luxurious but not over the top. The breakfast is my favorite meal and Leslie does not disappoint - the food so fresh and creative! Susan and Ray take care of you and want you to enjoy your stay with them AND in Cape May. If you don't stay here at least drive by when you get to Cape May. I bet you'll think about staying there on your next visit! We now stay here at least two long weekends a year and hope to do more!

This was our second stay at The Mission Inn, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We had a great time meeting the other guests at the delicious breakfast, and had a hearty debate on politics and religion (of all topics). The Inn is within walking distance of the downtown area, and also perfect for an early morning run along the beach. Susan and Ray are wonderful hosts, and we will definitely be back.
5 on October 21, 2012
Kudos to Susan and her staff! Home away from home. Relaxing atmosphere, with beautiful decor from the moment you enter the inn. Stayed only two nights but the breakfasts and appetizers were out of this world to win any palate. From the time we arrived we were treated to complimentary bottle of wine in our beautifully decorated room the San Buenaventura. Comfortable King size bed, walk in closet, fireplace and jacuzzi tub. Susan would ask if we needed help to decide on where to have dinner and would supply excellent recommendations. Beach a block away, close to shopping in town. Short drive to the lighthouse and Sunset Beach. Truely worth coming back but next time for a longer stay.

Mu husband and I spent two wonderful nights at the Mission Inn as a getaway. It is one of the most unique B&Bs, with each room having a unique theme of an old-time mission. The rooms were a feast for the eyes and the provided breakfasts and afternoon snacks were a tasty feast. We loved Susan and her staff who could not do enough to make you welcome.

This was our first time visiting Cape May and staying in a Bed and Breakfast. I am happy to say that we will definitely be going back to both Cape May and the Mission Inn. Susan and Ray are wonderful "hosts" and have made the Mission Inn a special place to call home for a few days. The breakfasts were very good and our room, the San Diego, was very clean and accommodating.

Hospitality beyond belief. Felt like I was in my own home with good friends! Susan and Ray are the most genuine hosts you could ever ask for. Not in town so not in all the craziness, but very easy walk not only to the beach, but to center of town and restaurants as well.

Away from the madness of the center of town and the cookie cutter Victorian B&B's is nestled a Spanish Mission style compound of comfort and relaxation. The innkeepers, Susan and Ray make you feel welcome and at home immediately. They are so warm and genuine that you arrive as guests and part as friends. The inn itself is beautiful from the guest rooms to the courtyard. Taking breakfast on the porch is such a wonderful experience. The dishes served each morning and the appetizers served each afternoon are creative, delicious and comforting. All it took was one visit to hook my wife and me. We have no desire to stay anywhere else in Cape May and have chosen The Mission Inn as our honeymoon destination in 2013.

We stayed at The Mission Inn for my birthday weekend in August. First time there and we will definitely return. The room was beautiful, clean and comfortable. Breakfasts everyday were fantastic and unlike any other we had ever experienced at a B&B. Having beach gear, beach badges and bicycles at our convenience was an extra bonus. Also, the appetizer hour during late afternoon was a pleasant surprise. Susan and Ray are the epitome of the word "host". If you look up the word in the dictionary, their picture is probably there!

I spent three days over a long holiday weekend at the Mission Inn. Susan and Ray, the owners, are incredible hosts. From the moment you check into their lovely Inn, you feel cared for, welcomed and appreciated. Susan manages all aspects of the Inn with impeccable taste and demeanor. Her staff are delightful, the food is superb and service with a smile literally in every moment you are fortunate enough to stay here. The rooms are all unique and special.........just like they are! I will be staying here every time I have the great fortune of visiting Cape May! Bravo!

Upon arrival at the Mission Inn, we were greeted by Susan who encouraged us to make ourselves comfortable in our new "second home". As we settled in and began to explore this beautiful inn, we realized how true her statement was. Each room invites you to come and enjoy the peace and tranquility. There is no detail that is overlooked. Afternoon refreshments and the morning breakfast are as pleasing to the eye as to the palette. In other words fabulous! You will NOT be disappointed at the Mission Inn. Susan and Ray are most gracious hosts and truly enjoy helping each guest to experience all that this wonderful Inn has to offer... a little of heaven!

The owner goes out of her way to make you feel at home. She goes above and beyond what you expect from the run of the mill b & b. So much is provided for you that you barely have to pack a thing. We have come back 4 times so far. We feel so pampered when we stay here. We will return. We have stayed in 4 different rooms so far. Can't wait to try out the rest.

Very nice B&B. Susan's attention to detail at the Inn is evident, in that everything is near perfect. Staff is very nice, friendly and the little extras that they give you show they really do care about you having a great time. The murals through the Inn are outstanding.

The Mission Inn was simply amazing! My Wife and I stayed there for our honeymoon and the hostess was simply incredible. We were impressed with all of the perks such as beach chairs, beach passes, the hostess even called and made reservations for us to one of the best restaurants in the area. The breakfast served was absolutely memorable, they have a great chief. My wife chose the hotel because of the themed rooms, the decor was impressive and the room itself was very comfortable, I wish we could live there! You will not be disappointed.

While we only had time to stay for 2 evenings, it was well worth the drive! Before we checked in we discussed future stays at different B&Bs. But after our first night, we decided that nothing could hold a candle to the Mission Inn! Thank you for a fabulous retreat!

As repeat guests of The Mission Inn, we once again had a truly enjoyable stay. Breakfasts are out of this world. Innkeepers Susan and Ray went out of their way to make us feel welcome, comfortable and at home. They provide bikes, beach chairs and umbrellas, which is so convenient because it's less we have to worry about when packing :). Susan was full of suggestions on things to do and places to eat. They really do make it easy for the guests...they even provide Q-tips, cotton balls and robes in every room! We've stayed in 3 different rooms--each beautiful and uniquely decorated. And being only 2 blocks from the beach, we enjoyed coming back late afternoon for hors d'oeuvres--of course different variety each day--YUM!! Staying at The Mission Inn is a wonderful experience...and the only place we will stay when visiting Cape May!
5 on June 28, 2012
Quite simply the best B&B we have ever been to. A beautiful quiet setting . Susan and Ray are very attentive and yet not intrusive. The breakfasts are a visual and culinary delight. Afternoon tea is a meal in itself. And, they have wooden puzzles! This will become a regular get away for us. Jim and Wendy Emrich

We loved our stay at the Mission Inn... this bed and breakfast is so beautiful and charming.. The location is wonderful One block from the beach and a short walk into town.. so we didn't have to get in our car once the whole weekend. The breakfast was delicious too. The best part about the Mission Inn is the wonderful innkeepers who attended to our every need.. forgot suntan lotion - they had it! Bikes were available as were beach towels, chairs and even an umbrella. Delicious appetizers waiting for us each afternoon too.. A fabulous Bed and Breakfast.. 5 stars across the board in our book! Thank you Susan and Ray

Everything was PERFECT. Susan and Ray were wonderful hosts and their staff was fantastic. Our first time there but won't be our last. They thought of everything. Rooms were beautiful, food was great and we felt like family. Pictures do not do it justice. I cannot say one thing negative. Oh yeah I can -- we only stayed one night -- we should have stayed longer, much longer.

My wife and I finally got a weekend away (just the two of us, no friends, no family, no kids) after about 5 years and The Mission Inn was the perfect spot. The mission was well appointed and the room that we stayed in was spacious. It could rival any luxury hotel we've stayed at. The bathroom was nicely updated and the shower experience was phenomenal. You had access to 8 total body sprayers! Yes, 8! The room was very clean as well. What helped make the stay amazing was all the extras that are provided free of charge as well as Susan and Ray (the innkeepers). With your stay you have access to beach cruisers, beach chairs, and beach towels just to name a few. That's all you really need. Everything was either within walking distance or biking distance. Susan and Ray are an amazing and super friendly couple. They were very sweet and very accommodating. If you needed reservations, they were always willing to help out. If you needed anything special, they would do their best to accommodate. I would highly recommend The Mission Inn to anyone looking for a nice, quiet, quaint B&B in Cape May. Oh, I forgot to mention that the breakfast was delicious and what was a nice surprise was the afternoon appetizers and hors d'oeuvres.

This is one amazing Bed and breakfast!!! When we travel we like to stay places on par of where we live if not better, but this place exceeded that!! From the moment we were greeted by Susan the owner she made us feel like we have stayed many times. Her and her husbands warmth were felt our entire stay. We have been to Cape May many times and unfortunately overlooked The Mission Inn but will never stay anywhere else from now on. Rooms, service, food and hospitality were all superior. Cudos to Susan and Ray for keeping up such a beautiful "Home"!!!! Hope to see you again in the very near future. Eleanor and Nick Fenkner

My wife and I stayed at the Mission Inn for our anniversary weekend. Susan and Ray have done and outstanding job with creating a very unique inn. They pay the utmost attention to every detail. We got there early and were lucky enough to have a tour of all the guset rooms, they are all beautiful! From the moment you arrive, you are made to feel like family. They are very helpful and knowledgable about the local area and can recommend the perfect thing for you. The breakfasts and afternoon treats are incredible! We are looking forward to our return visit.

We were looking for a quiet, comfortable getaway. The Mission Inn was the ticket. We enjoyed creative gourmet breakfasts on the terrace, took long walks on the beach only one block away, enjoyed delicious hors d'oeuvres late in the afternoon and tucked into our cozy, beautiful room for three nights. It was hard to leave Susan and Ray’s welcoming hospitality. They even went out of their way to help us find a rental for our family to return in the summer. We fell in love with the Mission Inn and will be back!
5 on May 01, 2012
The Mission Inn is unlike any other B&B. I do not like the lace and frills and "oldness" of ordinary B&Bs and this has none of that! The attention to detail, the decor, the hospitality, and the food are in a class all by themselves. I will never be able to stay anywhere else but here ever again! They spoil you form the minute you walk in until the minute you leave - which we did not want to do - leave.

The Mission Inn was a wonderful experience for my husband and myself. From the moment we arrived Susan was so welcoming and showed us everything. The Inn is quite unique! We loved the way it was decorated from every space on the walls to the rooms with the jacuzzi tubs and large showers. The other guests were also very friendly. Our breakfast was amazing! The juice selection, fruit and the chef prepared a beautiful main course that was scrumptious! Our coffee never got cold because Susan and Robert were extremely attentive. To top off the wonderful place there were delicious horderves in the afternoon and cookies all day long! We can not wait to return there!

My husband and I recently enjoyed a 3 night stay at Mission Inn at Cape May. We have stayed at many bed an breakfsts and this was the best. The Inn ismeticoulsly maintained, with fresh flowers everywhere, wonderful snacks and amazing breakfast. The Innkeepers treat you like royalty but also like a part of their family. The rooms are very comfrotable, great sitting areas both in and outside. If you are looking for traditional victorian cape may - this is not it....this is something different with the mission motif, but someething truly special. Enjoy!!

You will not be disappointed with the bathrooms! The owners are terrific and make you feel like part of their family from the moment you make your reservation. Every effort was made to make you feel at home and was successfully done. This will be our bed and breakfast destination for every future trip to Cape May!

We have been going to Cape May for 20+years and have stayed at many different inns and hotels. Two years ago we decided to try the Mission Inn. We will never stay anywhere else! The inn and the innkeepers are so welcoming, the rooms impeccably appointed, and the breakfasts truely gourmet. It has two large common rooms to relax, read, nap or sit in front of the fireplace. Dining on the veranda for breakfast you can watch the ocean, what a way to begin the day! Susan and Ray went above and beyond to help with dinner reservations and the like. Please, treat yourself and go to the Mission Inn!

Susan and Ray were excellent hosts, they made us feel like we were staying at a favorite aunt's home. We can't wait to return. I know my girlfriend agrees because she has said at least a dozen times that this was the best valentine ever. Thank you

Sue & Ray- My husband set up this romantic weekend for a night (Only night away with the children) We came from Ocean Grove, N.J. which is not a long ride at all. He asked me if I wanted anything specific. I said, "Yes-please find something with a hot tub / big bath tub and BOY he did. He said that he hunted around on the internet for close to 6hrs (Not at once) and found this place. Something drew him to it and here we are! Something drew me to it also as we pulled up I was so excited and so relaxed. One thing we enjoyed very much is that it was NOT in the middle of the summer and it was so beautiful and so pleasant. As I am sure it would be in the summer as well. Sue and Ray made it so special and so beautiful from the moment we arrived they made it feel as though it was our home away from home as well. You are surrounded my beauty and love. The meals were excellent! I am even making my daughter that breakfast tomorrow morning before school. ( I wont tell you what it is then I will ruin your surprise) It is a MUST that you go check this place out. You will be hooked as my husband and I are now. I even said, "Are kids alloud here" Then my husband hit me in the arm...HeHeHe what was I thinking NO-WAY I love you my children but this is our home away from home now. We will be back and we are looking to spend time here at least once a year and nothing less. This is how beautiful and pleasant it was for us as it will be for all of you as well...........See you soon Susan and Ray. Next time we will try another room and hit them all up after each different stay! Love always, The couple from Ocean Grove, N.J.

My husband and I were thrilled to stumble upon the Mission Inn on our search for a babymoon location. Our hosts were more than gracious and generous. We were greeted by their smiling faces, friendly recommendations, and delicious appetizers. They even gave us an adorable gift bag filled with baby goodies to celebrate our upcoming baby! The inn was immaculate and beautifully decorated. Breakfast the next morning was absolutely incredible. The juices were fantastically yummy and the food was just as exceptional. The entire time our every need was met and we felt cozy and comfortable. We will definitely be returning!

This was my husband & my first B&B experience and we were SOLD! I truly feel sorry for other B&B's because the bar the inn keepers Susan & Ray set us at was above and beyond a 10!! Their inn from the moment you walk in smells and feels warm and like home. They are fully stocked in beverages, have enough room for you to keep stuff in the guest refrigerator so you can store stuff to reheat later! the rooms are all different and are beautifully decorated. The breakfast in the morning made by Leslie is AMAZING!!! i thought i would never be left speechless after eating breakfast but i WAS!! The appetizers made by Susan EVERY evening are simply to-die for! We have already booked additional stays for the remainder of the year and this time next year! We wanted to secure "our room". Everyone you MUST go to The Mission Inn!

Warm and welcoming. Jacuzzi tub for two adds to the romance of the well appointed and well decorated Spanish mission themed rooms. Great hors d'oeuvres and a scrumptious breakfast were a real treat. My favorite was the always open, well stocked fridge on the sun porch. It's perfect for a late after dinner drink back in the room. Will definitely stay here again. Thanks, Susan and Ray!

I have never stayed at a B&B before and only chose the Mission Inn off of reading reviews and I could not have been happier with my choices. We just stayed there last night and left this morning and already planning our next visit!! I took my boyfriend here for his bday present and he had no idea where we were going or where we were staying!! First meeting Susan and Ray he was wowed about how they make you feel at home as soon as you walk in and then after Ray showed us to our room Jim was just in aww about the room the house everything it was a perfect choice!!! Susan and Ray thank you again so much!! The decor and the rooms and the murals are just amazing!! Our breakfast was fabulous!! Everything I can't say enough!! And the best part is Susan and Ray keep this gem so clean you could literally eat off the floor!!! You will not go wrong choosing The Mission Inn for your stay!!!

A beautiful B&B with all the quaintness of Cape May, but with a unique flair. The replications of the California missions are stunningly accurate. The accomodations are elegant and modern, while maintaining the soft style that is Cape May. We received a warm welcome and friendly hospitality from Susan & Raymond. Finally, the breakfast was by far the best we've had in the Cape. We have enjoyed visiting a new B&B each Christmas time, but now I believe we have found our annual stay!

Service better than most 5 star hotels that I have stayed at. Attention to detail, attention to comfort and especially the attention to my wife and I, were once again, extraordinary. Don't believe the endless 5 star ratings that the Mission Inn continues to generate? Try a night or two at this remarkable establishment and see if find any reason to rate it less. Susan & Ray are born inn keepers. Their love of their guests and of their creation rings out in every detail, accommodation, hors d'oeuvre and breakfast. The inn is more an art gallery/spa than just a nice place to eat and sleep. Choose a room; any room, and see what true commitment, attention to detail and honest hard work yields. We've already booked again for next holiday season. See you there!

The gourmet breakfasts on the veranda starts your relaxing time. Ready for some exercise? My wife and I decided to spend our 15th Wedding Anniversary in Cape May. My wife and I arrived and were greeted by the owner Susan. She welcomed us into her home and showed us around. As we toured the Inn, she explained her labor of love and how her and Ray had transformed the Inn. We made our way to our room, the San Francisco de Asis room. Wow, what a beautiful work of art. As with several of the other rooms we got to tour, our room was so inviting and perfect. Susan and Ray have thought of it all, they provided us with bikes to ride, beach chairs and umbrellas to take to the beach, and always offered us beverages to take with us. Before we left, the staff asked us what we were thinking of for dinner. Janet provided us with menus to look at and then made the reservation for us. After returning from biking, we enjoyed the afternoon hors d'oeuvre and met some of the other guests. That night the bed was so comfortable and provided a great night of sleep. The next morning we woke to the smell of breakfast filling the house. Words cannot explain just how great the breakfasts were. Our taste buds were in heaven! From the linens, to the great smelling-soft towels and robes, to the toiletries in the bathroom and along the tub, Susan and Ray didn't forget a thing. We were amazed at such great hospitality. Before we knew it, the weekend was over and it was time to leave. What a sad reality check. But what a perfect weekend! The staff and the comfort of the Inn made it perfect. We will definitely return and look forward to that day. Thank you Susan and Ray!

Sue and Ray, We were so lucky to get such nice days for our fall stay. The inn is beautifully painted with murals of the California Missions and as an artist it was a delight to be in such artistic surroundings. Our room was large with a jacuzzi a fireplace. We both felt like we were at home but even better. I don't make snacks at 4:00 everyday. The breakfasts were wonderful too. We plan on coming back again soon. Thanks Susan and Ray.

My wife and I recently enjoyed a three night stay at The Mission Inn. While we have stayed at dozens of B&B's on both coasts over the last 30 years, we must say that our stay at The Mission was, while brief, the most enjoyable we have experienced. Susan and Ray are the friendliest, most caring and most courteous inn keepers we have met. They instantly make you feel 'at home' and as though you are a long time friend. The breakfasts and afternoon Hors d'Oeuvres are hand made from scratch, taking into consideration personal dieatary resrtictions. A lovely experience that we plan on enjoying again as soon as possible! Dr. Ralph and Terry

Fabulous anniversary/babymoon weekend at the Mission Inn! After 5 wonderful years of marriage and our first little one on the way I had to make sure that I planned something relaxing but still extraordinary in my search for the right B&B in Cape May. I searched the 61+ offerings in the Cape May area and knew once I saw the pictures online of the Mission Inn, that this was a special place. It was a last minute accommodation but Susan was extremely helpful to get me reserved for the LAST room available. The pictures online are great but once you step foot inside The Mission Inn you get a true taste of the west and the Inn Keepers' commitment to bringing a truly unique B&B experience. Our room was perfect, king size bed, jacuzzi tub with shower and murals and detail to take you to what seems to be another part of the world. The Inn is a block off the beach (walking distance) and offers all the necessary ammenities, beach towels, bicycles, chairs, ice packs for coolers and umbrellas! Finding out what was being served for breakfast each morning was like Christmas morning! Each morning something new, fresh and homemade served on the outside patio (weather permitting) was the perfect start to each day. The afternoon snacks were a great way to hold yourself over till dinner later that night. Susan and Raymond (Inn Keepers) have created an incredible place of relaxation with great service in every aspect! We look forward to numerous future getaways at The Mission Inn! (Many of the other guests had been there numerous times before) Thank you for the memories!

My wife and I have been visiting Cape May for over twenty years, and have stayed in several Bed and Breakfast Inns, over that time period. We had previously settled on the Duke of Windsor, as the best and most enjoyable Inn in Cape May to stay at. Unfortunately the owner sold that Inn a few years ago. When we asked her for her recommendation of a new Bed and Breakfast in Cape May to stay at, she unconditionally recommended the Mission Inn, and no others. We have now stayed at the Mission Inn on seven or eight occassiions over the past few years, and each time, when it comes time for us to leave, we always regret leaving the Inn. Each time, we are made to feel welcome immediately upon arriving. Immaculate rooms, decorated in a California MIssion theme , exquisite and delicious breakfasts, and hosts that make you feel like family and friends. We have found out that our opinions aren't the exception, but the norm for the folks from all over, that we have met time and again at the Mission Inn. Susan and Ray, are people that you will never forget, and as the Hosts with the mostest, they are second to none. Mel & Marge, Brick, N.J.

My husband and I celebrated our 10th Wedding Anniversary in Cape May (where we met!) and stayed at the Mission Inn. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel at home. Susan and Ray are wonderful hosts. The afternoon snacks are scrumptious and the breakfasts fantastic. One block from the beach and a easy walk to the center of town. They think of everything from beach towels, chairs/umbrellas and bikes. Would absolutley come back and could thin of no other place I would stay when in Cape May!

I have traveled a lot and have stayed at many places and the Mission Inn is by far one the best I have ever stayed in. Your hosts are true professionals, the food amazing and delightful and rooms fantastic. You want from nothing when you stay here. We are already booked again for next year.

The Mission Inn is outstanding in all respects, rooms are one of a kind, unique, in every way, romatic! The breakfast is gourmet! The service is very warm, good, and personable. I would and will go back. Great place for a couple of days when you want to go to Cape May. Highly recommend.

We just came back from 3 days at The Mission Inn. My husband and I have been to several other Inns in Cape May over the past 20 years but have never been treated like we were family. Susan and Ray couldn't do enough for us. They are exceptional people. The food was fantastic. The Inn is beautiful and cozy. We will definitely be back. Louisa & Dennis Montague, NJ

We have returned to The Mission Inn over the years because it's the perfect fusion of easygoing elegance and warm hospitality. A great location, attention to detail, and the sparkling personalities of the hosts make this a special place. Go...enjoy...you won't be disappointed! -- Myra and Ray

We were very happy with our visit to The Mission Inn in Cape May, NJ. The owners and staff were very friendly and warm. As were the other guests. The Inn is close enough to town to make easy access but far enough away to avoid overly crowded areas. The room was very spacious and the general open areas for all guests was spacious as well. This Bed and Breakfast was the best thought out and best designed of all of the ones we've been to in Cape May over the years. I have no reservations in recommending The Mission Inn. I don't have room to list everything there is to say. The guests are thought of at all times while the atmosphere was warm and friendly at the same time. Perfect balance of everything. Can't wait to go back!

From the time we checked in until checkout Susan and Ray made us feel like family. This was our third trip to the Mission Inn and it just keeps getting better and better. The breakfast that they serve is delicious and if its possible,it gets better each day.Our room was clean and well stocked with towels and toiletries, the decor is beautiful and it seems they are constantly making improvements to their inn. The afternoon social hour is a nice touch with wonderful culinary treats and an oppurtunity to meet some of the other guests. Iwould recommend The Mission Inn to anyone looking for a relaxing few days in a casual, yet elegant setting.

My husband and I have been going to Cape May for the last 25 years and have stayed at several places, BUT, by far The Mission Inn has been the best. You can tell that Susan loves and enjoys what she it doing and that makes a big difference in how you enjoy the stay. We enjoy Cape May for the laid back atmosphere and our vacation was perfect. What a beautiful place to stay! The wonderful Innkeepers, Susan and Raymond, and their fabulous staff, make you feel comfortable & at home the moment you get out of your car. We stayed in the Santa Barbara room & it was just lovely. We really wanted to take the shower home with us, but I guess we'll just have to go back again to use it :-) Everything is kept nice and clean. The breakfast were delicious & the afternoon "appetizers", which were more like a light meal were fantastic! It was fun to see what fabulous surprises we would have each day. The Inn is only one block from the beach & within walking distance of some really great restaurants. They've thought of everything, all you have to do is pack some clothes & get ready to be pampered & taken care of. We hated to leave and we will definitely be going back again.

My girlfriend and I booked a three night stay at the Mission Inn in August 2011 based on the reviews we read online. The reviews don't serve the inn the justice it deserves. Truly the best vacation of our lives. I have stayed at Ritz-Carltons, the Waldorf-Astoria, Omni Parker House, and W Hotels and they could learn a thing or two from the quality of service the Mission Inn provides. Breakfast is outstanding, location is just off the beaten path but well within walking distance of town and the beach, but most importantly the owners are genuine and genial. Would and have highly recommended to everyone I know!

When the Stones roll in, we are at our home away from home. We have visited Susan & Ray, our attention to detail host and hostess - at the Mission Inn each summer and many autumn and winter seasons too - over the past 7 years. The Inn is lovely and the food is superb. The Roberts are always upgrading something significant as they consistently reinvest in their 100 year old showplace. Love the beach tags, great bikes and beach chairs & umbrellas too!

Susan & Raymond were Fabulous hosts!! They thought of everything a guest could want before we knew we even wanted it. The Inn is warm & comfortable and you barely even knew the staff existed-you went to breakfast and poof-your room was cleaned & refreshed by the time you returned. We went bike riding into the quaint city center, sunned on the beach and had wonderful dinners in town; bikes, umbrellas, & beach towels provided by the Inn were all in tip top condition, just like I'd provide the guests that visit my own home in Florida! Dining recommendations were spot on-never had a bad meal, especially Susan's breakfasts - WOW!! It will be our home away from home when John & I are in Cape May (or anywhere close enough to drive to from there)- but better because I don't have to cook or clean, Susan & Raymond take care of all that and more!! We had a great experience with our hosts, their other guests and the town. We'll be back again & again. Thanks, Deborah Roche

Wished we could have stayed longer. We were only able to get away 1 night but it was perfection. The owners, Susan & Ray are warm, friendly and charming. The inn is clean, comfortable and well appointed. Between the fabulous, hearty breakfast and scrumptious hors d'oevres and sweets, you don't need to eat much else. We will definitely visit again!

My husband and I fell in love with this B&B & decided that this will be the place we will always stay at when visiting Cape May, NJ. All the rooms are beautifully hand-painted offering a luxurious yet cozy feeling. The food was outstanding; I couldn't wait to see what they were going to serve every morning. The owners, Ray & Susan, were extremely nice. They make it feel like you are visiting your family’s beach house for the weekend. They offer a lot of complimentary amenities that we haven't seen before (my husband couldn't get enough of their homemade lemonade; it is the best he's ever had). The Mission Inn has definitely set the bar high for any other B&B's we decide to stay at.

We just spent four nights at The Mission Inn in Cape May. The accommodations were beyond what we expected. Susan and Ray are wonderful hosts who do anything they can to make your stay comfortable. Breakfast each morning was fantastic! Our room was spacious and beautiful. The location is terrific. Only one block to the beach and an easy walk. Well worth the money! We can't wait to go back!

We only had time for a one night stay and found the Mission Inn had one night available in the San Diego de Alcala room which we found to be clean, cool, comfortable, spacious and well-appointed with terrific Mission decor. The bed was a little too firm to suit me, but my wife found it to her liking. The shower was the best I have ever been in. Susan was an excellent hostess and Leslie an imaginative chef. The Mission style was a nice departure from the the Victorian B&B's that dominate Cape May. Being a short 15-20 minute walk from the busyness of the downtown shopping areas was nice as it was quiet at night with only the sounds of the ocean which was a very short walk away. The Inn offers bicycles, beach chairs, umbrellas, towels and free passes as well as a convenient bath house facility to wash the beach off before re-entering the Inn. All in all, a delightful place to stay. We are ready to return.

Very unique accommodations.. Spacious, very very clean and pleasant. Breakfast is a real treat!!! We will not stay anywhere else in Cape May. Susan and Ray are the ultimate hosts... Just pack your bathing suit, some clothes and a few personal items.... everything else is at your finger tips at this absolutely beautiful B&B.

I've been reading reviews on the Internet for years but have never before written a review. I knew that a place would have to be outstanding to compel me to write. I have found that place in "The Mission Inn." We chose the Mission Inn after seeing their rating and reading all of the glowing reviews. Since we only had 2 nights to spend, we wanted to make sure it was perfect. It was! We were greeted by Susan upon our arrival and shown to our luxurious, immaculate room, the San Juan Bautista. Our walls were hand painted, and our king bed headboard was a replica of the mission made out of hand-carved wood. We had a fireplace and our bathroom was complete with wine glasses, a television, a 2 person jacuzzi tub and a spa shower. We were lucky enough to get a peek at the other rooms and were amazed at the detail of the painting and decorating of each room. The food was amazing...truly a gourmet experience! We loved riding the bikes and were pleased to know that we also had access to beach badges, beach chairs, beach towels and umbrellas. Susan has a gift of making everyone feel special! I would recommend to everyone that they stay at the Mission Inn. Once you stay there, you'll never consider anyplace else. We can't wait to go back again! Thank you to Susan & Ray for our wonderful experience! Room Tip: Every room was jaw-dropping beautiful...you can't go wrong with any one of them!

Most wonderful place to stay in Cape May. Susan and Ray are the greatest inn keepers and two of the nicest people you could want to meet. The inn is beautiful, breakfasts are superb and the amenities are awesome, bikes, beach chairs, umbrellas! NOT ONE SINGLE COMPLAINT! Worth every penny and a memorable vacation!

Our stay at the Mission Inn was beautiful and relaxing. When Susan, the owner of the Mission Inn, discovered that it was my first time in Cape May, she gladly talked to my boyfriend and I about what kind of activities were available. They provided ample amounts of literature to give us any additional information that we needed. She was the loveliest host and she made us feel so welcome. It really feels like you're a part of a family when you stay at the Mission Inn. We were introduced to the other guests as they came and went. Everyone was so unbelievably friendly. The other guests gave us restaurant recommendations and were extremely interested in what we were going to be doing on our trip. It was great to get feedback from others about what they enjoyed doing in Cape May. We stayed in the Santa Clara room and it was absolutely beautiful. The entire Inn is so exquisitely decorated. Susan told us about all of the renovations that they had made and are currently making. We saw a mural being worked on little by little during our stay. It's wonderful to know that Susan and her husband Ray are adamant about continually making improvements to the property. I'm not quite sure of what amenities the other bed and breakfasts supply but the Mission Inn is very accommodating. They supply beach passes, bikes, beach chairs, towels, umbrellas, and boogie boards. They have almost everything that you could possibly need for a day at the beach. Susan and Ray have really made life so much easier! We loved the Mission Inn so much that we're already trying to plan our next visit!

From the moment we entered the Mission Inn we were welcomed and pampered. Susan and Ray are such personable hosts and their genuine care and thoughtfulness make you feel so very special and appreciated. Truly one of our best B&B experiences. Everything was fresh and new. The breakfasts were relaxed and delicious and we came home with a new recipe.

The Mission Inn is the only B&B my husband and I have stayed in and it is the only Inn we will stay in when in Cape May. We have been going to the Mission Inn every year for the past 6 years and every year we enjoy our stay more and more! The inn keepers are the most gracious hosts and treat guests like family. The chef prepares delicious gourmet breakfasts each morning and there are delectable snacks served each afternoon. Every year there are beautiful design enhancements made to the interior. Each room is designed to represent a California Mission. The details to design including carved headboards and painted murals is extraordinary. The Mission Inn is just beautiful, warm and inviting. We just returned from the long July 4th weekend and cannot wait to return to this gem of Cape May.

If you want quality R&R at the Jersey shore, and do it in sheer luxury and comfort, The Mission Inn in Cape May is the place to go. We've been to many B&B's....however, none compares with The Mission Inn. Susan and Ray are sweet, accomodating and personable innkeepers and the breakfasts (as well as the 4 pm hors d'oeurves) were fabulous. The inn amenities include a comfortable reading/game room where guests enjoy friendly chatter, plentiful coffee, tea, cold drinks, cookies, a private back patio with comfortable lounges, huge porch for eating/reading, and a charming living room with fireplace. Just one block off the beach, Susan and Ray also provide beach tags, chairs, umbrellas and bicycles. These factors alone give The Mission Inn an "A" rating....but what makes this B&B so very special are the spectacular rooms, each unique in its own southwest decor, with 5-star state-of-the-art showers (and in some rooms, hot tubs). But....don't expect any computer....this is still a B&B....and if you're like me, you'll be grateful to take a few days off from the internet!

In late June,I spent two nights at the Mission Inn. An old friend from out of town and I decided to leave the husbands behind and have a girls getaway. The innkeepers were gracious, friendly and made you feel like they were welcoming you into their own home. The accommodations (every room has a king size bed) were first class. The place was immaculate and every important detail was addressed to provide comfort for the guest. Each room is unique and every wall was painted with gorgeous murals. The shower stall was something out of an exclusive spa. The common rooms also were painted with murals, had very comfortable furniture and a full size refrigerator stocked with soda, iced tea, lemonade, seltzer and white wine for the guests. Designated shelves were available for the guests' personal items to be refrigerated. Breakfast was wonderful, though a large man might be a little hungry and afternoon hors d'oeuvres were delicious. The Inn is only a block from the beach and beach tags, umbrellas, beach towels and chairs are provided. I can hardly wait to go again!

My wife and I recently stayed five nights and had a lovely visit. We were asked ahead of time about any food issues, so the breakfast and the late afternoon snacks would not present unwanted surprises. Everything that would be necessary for an enjoyable stay in Cape May was provided. We were warned ahead of time that the particular room we stayed in had a very small shower/commode arrangement which is beyond their control to remodel; that was indeed a tight space, but, it was not a surprise for us. All in all, we would highly recommend The Mission Inn to friends - and we already have!

Very gracious owners who made us feel so at home in our recent June trip. Can't wait to go back.

We had the most wonderful, relaxing, luxurious weekend at the Mission Inn June 24-26, 2011, which was our first visit to Cape May. Every need and wish are fulfilled by the most professional owners and staff. The Roberts' have thought of EVERYTHING and truly make the Mission Inn your home for your stay: after the overwhelmingly-lovely tour, the combination to the front door is yours and the entire premises are your own 24/7. Delicious breakfasts, delightful afternoon snacks, friendly and attentive staff, casually-elegant and quiet atmosphere, one short block from the beach, all beach needs provided (including towels), wonderful bicycles, and perfect location. We parked the car there and never got back into the car (until we sadly drove away) as we walked or biked everywhere in beautiful, bike-friendly Cape May. We cannot wait to come back!

We had a wonderful stay at The Mission Inn in Cape May. Susan and Ray are wonderful people and their service, hospitality and attention to detail are impeccable. Some of the most beautiful, creative and original rooms that we have ever stayed in. The food was inventive and healthy with a variety of fruits, juices and vegetables to compliment every breakfast. We would stay here again and are already planning another trip to The Mission Inn. Thanks again Susan and Ray, it was a pleasure meeting you! -Jon and Rebeka Mesker

We are planning our next get away!!

We had the MOST fabulous experience at the Mission Inn in Cape May, NJ. The Mission Inn is a Bed & Breakfast that oozes with style and uncompromised luxury. It is located in a serene area just one block from the ocean. The accommodations were FIRST CLASS all the way. The team at the Inn works as fine machinery, leaving NOTHING to be desired. Sue and Ray are the owners and more, as husband and wife they complement each other perfectly. If you have a special day, or if there is a person you want to delight, Mission Inn is the answer.

We stayed in the San Luis Rey Room. It was perfect. We almost couldn't tell the bricks and scenes were real or faux. The breakfasts were delicious (coffee, tea, special juice, appetizer and meal). The nightly appetizers were plentiful and almost a light dinner (though Susan was available for restaurant recommendations/reservations). Everyone was friendly. Easy walk to the beach (Inn provided chairs, umbrellas, beach tags, bicycles). Excellent adult weekend in Cape May.

We've stayed at over a dozen B&Bs in Cape May and the Mission Inn is definitely the best of the best. My wife and I constantly marveled at the attention to every detail - from the room to the gardens to the breakfasts and snacks - everything was truly outstanding. We've never stayed at the same place twice - up until now! I know we'll stay at the Mission Inn in Cape May again very soon. Bob & Carol Ann

Our room was spacious and airy, and beautifully decorated. The california mission theme was a welcome change from the many typical victorian accomodations. The bathrooms have new fixtures and the over sized tub and shower were exactly what we hoped for. The owners could not have been more helpful. The evening we arrived, Susan helped us plan reservations for dinner for the four nights we were there, made helpful suggestions for fun things to do, and provided us with maps and keys to our bikes for the next day. (Bike's are provided which is a nice perk) The breakfasts were delicious, something totally different every morning, and presented beautifully. We would love to make a return visit!

Breakfast is delicious - the rooms are comfortable - the bathrooms are luxurious. One block to the beach - the Inn supplies chairs, umbrellas and towels. There are plenty of bicycles to use - and I recommend taking a ride at least once, it's a great way to get around. I can't wait to go back!

The breakfast was wonderful, and afternoon snacks were more like lunch! Delicious! The rooms were beautiful and non-victorian making this inn the most unique B&B in Cape May. The History the inn told with its unbelievable decor and comfortable rooms made our stay a vaca we will not forget.

We stayed at the Mission Inn to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary and had a wonderful stay. The Inn is simply magnificent, the photos and pictures simply cannot do it justice. The rooms are spacious, impeccably decorated, and immaculate. Susan was a wonderful hostess and a terrific cook, our breakfast was terrific! The Mission Inn provides everything you need for a memorable stay, from well maintained bikes and beach chairs, to games and high end bath products. Our only regret was that we couldn't stay longer.

We couldn't have been more delighted nor picked a better place to stay to enjoy a long weekend away to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. Our honeymoon had been in Cozumel, Mexico. Our 10th anniversary had been as well. But that was before we had a son, who we were luckily able to leave in the trusted hands of good friends, but who we didn't want to be so far away from in case of any emergency. Cape May is beautiful, but what made it special was Suzanne and Ray, the hosts/owners of The Mission Inn. Suzanne was a wealth of information and concierge-oriented duties achieved with grace and kindness; Ray was a welcome reconteur and host, as well as groundskeeper. We met several couples similarly celebrating anniversaries, including birthdays, and felt as they suggested almost a part of Suzanne and Ray's family. If you're looking for a quiet, clean, relaxing base on Cape May from which to explore, we can't recommend The Mission Inn enough...

Our stay at the Mission Inn in Cape May recently as the other stays over the years was wonderful! The rooms are tastefully decorated in various Mission styles with many amenities. No matter where you are in the Inn, the outside areas, the sitting areas, the dining areas are over the top. Susan and Ray are attentive and go out of their way to make your stay unforgetable. Also the food is great. Bill and Maryann Ziobrowski

Treated my mom to an overnight for her birthday--and it was just perfect! Susan and her staff were amazing, attentive and kind. She knew just the right restaurants to suggest as well as new things to check out while in town. The hotel itself is just beautiful to look at--I could've wandered for hours just taking in the murals!

From the moment we entered The Mission we knew we were somewhere special. The Mission is a beautiful experience from the handpainted murals and custom headboards to the gourmet dining. We relaxed and "cruised" our way through Cape May. We left saying we would return in a few months. No regrets whatsoever. The hosts went out of their way to make our stay memorable.

This was our fourth stay at the Mission Inn (3rd since Susan & Ray became owners). Everything about this B & B is 1st rate---the ambiance, decor, hospitality and food. The chef, Leslie, has been with Susan & Ray since the beginning and she never ceases to amaze with her innovative and scrumptious breakfasts. Always a feast for the eyes as well as the palate. Coming back to the Mission Inn is like revisiting good friends----can't wait to see them again soon!

We have stayed at the Mission Inn 3 times so far, staying in 3 different rooms. We are ALWAYS so impressed with the rooms, the food, and of course, our hosts, Susan and Ray. They really go out of their way to make us feel comfortable, from recommending a restaurant for us, to making sure we have enough hors 'devours in the afternoons. We will come back to the Mission Inn time and time again.

Ray and Susan, our host and hostess, were very hospitable and just couldn't do enough for us. Their goal was to make sure everything was perfect during our stay - and it was. The rooms (and the entire Inn) are very clean, quiet and comfortable. We highly recommend his lovely quaint Inn if you desire rest and relaxation. You won't be disappointed.

This past weekend my husband and I stayed at The Mission Inn. This was our 2nd time at the Inn and our stay was even better than before. Our 1st time we stayed in the San Diego room which was beautiful. This time we chose the San Juan Bautista and it was spectacular. We were able to tour each room on this visit and all rooms have so much to offer. They are each unique in their own way. The Inn is so relaxing and is decorated beautifully. Susan and Raymond have thought of everything from the warm and friendly great room to the luxurious spa showers and jacuzzis along with fireplaces in some rooms. Susan's breakfast along with afternoon refreshments are delicious. They have thought of everything needed for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. The Inn is so accomodating! Can't wait to go back for another visit!!

We recently stayed at The Mission Inn and enjoyed it thoroughly. This was our first time at a b&b so we were not sure what to expect. Our host was wonderful and thought of every detail. There were homemade cookies when we arrived and a bottle of champagne in our room. Every room was immaculate and beautiful. Breakfast was superb and our host catered to our nutritional needs. The only downfall was that we were only able to stay there for 1 night. We can't wait to go back!

I found the Mission Inn while searching for a special place to take my wife for her birthday. Little did I know how special a place it is! Ever since then, it is the only place we stay when we go to Cape May. The rooms are spectacular, the breakfast is gourmet (and delicious too), as well as the afternoon hors d'oeuvres. The Inn is also located within a block of the beach, and is within walking distance of most of Cape May's restaurants and shops But above all, Susan and Raymond are the most gracious hosts you can imagine. They are part of our family now, and we consider ourselves lucky to have found them, as well as their wonderful Inn. If you ever plan to stay in Cape May, be sure to book your room at the Mission Inn. You WON'T be disappointed!

The Mission Inn in Cape May is tremendous both in the total charm of the rooms and common areas to the graciousness of the hosts. We highly recommend the Mission Inn.

My weekend trip and stay at the Mission Inn was a beautiful start of the holiday season. Susan and Ray invited us in as if we were family coming in to visit for the holidays. The rooms, food and guests was delightful. I will be definitely starting my 2011 Xmass holiday with them again. Book your time quickly though, their weekends do fill up.---TDN DEC8

We did not want our stay to end at the Mission Inn. The accomodations are first class and the hospitality and welcome by the innkeepers, Susan and Ray provide an experience of visiting "old friends". We plan to make the inn an annual event, especially during the busy Christmas season. We stayed at the inn a few days before Christmas and enjoyed the break from all the hustle and bustle that the season brings, while enjoying the "Victorian" Christmas that Cape May is known for. The memory of our visit will be with us for years to come. Thank you Susan and Ray.

The Mission Inn is a wonderfully unique inn. It stands out from the majority of the B&B's/inns in Cape May, which are predominantly Victorian style. Innkeepers Susan & Ray are very welcoming, friendly, and most certainly accommodating. Each of the eight rooms boasts modern amenities, yet, is tastefully decorated to resemble the old California Missions. It is just steps away from the beach and a short bike ride to the town's center. I would definitely recommend The Mission Inn to anyone who is looking to stay in the area.

I stayed at The Mission Inn this past weekend and have been raving about it since. The innkeepers are kind, thoughtful, and their hospitality is unmatched. It's clear they know the area very well, and made great recommendations. Their chef made spectacular breakfasts. The rooms are spacious, updated, clean, and comfortable.

This inn is absolutely fabulous. The owner's are kind, loving and make you feel like family. Don't miss breakfast served everyday! It's one of the highlights of the day and I guarantee you have not had a breakfast like it. Kudos to Leslie. The design & decor is so beautiful it should be featured on HGTV. Stepping into my room gave me the feeling I first had when I saw "The Wizard of Oz" when Dorothy opens her door and sees Oz. The room was serene & peaceful, I felt like I was in a fantasy.

Susan and Ray (innkeepers/owners) are so very hospitable! The Inn is very cozy and welcoming. I think the website does give you a good preview of what the Inn is like, but it is truly so much more! You will not be disappointed!!

Our experience at the Mission Inn was nothing short of perfect. Hosts Susan and Ray sincerely made us feel like family. Accommodating is not a fair word - better would be harmonizing. The taste, aroma and feel of the inn make you just want to melt into the walls. The rooms, or should I say art-chambers, were one-of-a-kind lodgings more typical of an art gallery then a bedroom. Spacious, marvelously decorated and immaculately clean, the room itself is reason enough to stay at the inn. Breakfasts by Leslie should be chiseled into the dinning room walls! Unique and delightful, you won't find these masterpieces at your local diner. That goes for the afternoon appetizers as well. Great stuff! One block from the Atlantic Ocean and the beaches and a 5 minute drive to open-air mall in the center of Cape May gives you all you'll need whether you come in the summer or winter (Christmas season is a special treat). We have already booked for 2011. GO!

Susan and Ray have created a warm, relaxed, and friendly atmosphere at The Mission Inn. The accomodations exceeded my expectations. The breakfast was outstanding. The location is a block in from the beach and very convienent to shopping and restaurants. The inn is beautiful but I think it is the hospitality of Susan, Ray and thier staff that make The Mission Inn a great choice for some R&R.

My wife & I were reluctant to stay in a B & B but wanted to try The Mission Inn based on friends' recommendations. It was exceptional. I'm hoping my great recommendation won't make it difficult for me to get a reservation next time.

The Mission Inn is a truly unique B&B in Cape May. There decor is wonderful with hand-painted pictures throughout the home. The room we stayed in (San Fransisco room) was beautifully modeled after the Missions in California. Along with the decor, the room offers lots of great amenities like a spa shower, fireplace, and jacuzzi. Its was a joy to come back from a brisk walk to a room were you can lay in the jacuzzi or by the fireplace. The breakfast was also great and the cranberry, coconut, oatmeal cookies were easily tops on my cookie list. Also, Susan and Ray went out of their way to accommodate any of the requests we have. Bottomline is that the Mission Inn is one of the best places to stay in Cape May, and because of the great room amenities, it can be enjoyed year round.

The Mission Inn is the greatest place we have ever stayed. The owners' hospitality cannot be matched. They make us feel at home each time we visit. The food is out of this world and the rooms will please you. We cannot wait to get back there.

This was a wonderful, relaxing weekend. The service was outstanding and the innkeepers were willing to share information, including historical info, about the area. One is able to meet other guests and get acquainted in a relaxed, home-like setting, but also enjoy the privacy of guest rooms with TV and DVD players. The food is delicious.
5 on September 13, 2010
Dear Susan and Raymond, Words cannot express the hospitality and warmth you show to all your guests. It was truly a blessed experience along with being amongst the finest bed and breakfast in NJ. It was the "personal" attention and kindness that truly won us over. The rooms were immaculate and the food was above and beyond our expectations. The cookies to go reminded me of leaving my family's home on the holidays. Thank you again - I know God's blessing upon you will overflow and be in abundance. Jackie and Marc

A week at the beach! We both loved our stay at The Mission Inn, our second visit, planning the next time right now. Susan, Ray, Janet, Leslie and the rest of the competent and gracious staff enhanced our visit. The weather was hot, hot, but our room was cool and a refuge. We have only explored the tip of all Cape May has to offer. So much more to Cape May than is readily apparent, a fascinating history. The Mission Inn will be a good home base. Thanks so much. We just returned from our stay at the Mission Inn - it was absolutely perfect!! Super clean, friendly and helpful staff, delicious food - the afternoon appetizers were my favorite - beautifully decorated, very comfortable, and every amenity you can think of and many you wouldn't have, but will enjoy. We never stayed at a B&B in Cape May before - only motels/motels with our family. This was our first full weekend away from our kids and we had so much fun. They have bikes you can use - we rode into town several times to shop, eat. The beach is one block away - they also have beach chairs, towels, umbrellas, and tags you can use. They even have an outside shower for when you come back. The kitchen has sodas, water, coffees and snacks - all very convenient. They really do think of everything and make it a joy from the minute you arrive. We will definitely stay at the Mission Inn again.

Service excellent; hosts Susan & Ray make everyone feel like part of their family. Terrific location, 1 block from the beach. The Inn is designed as a California style mission & is unique in Cape May with a 100 year history. Room was large & airy, high ceilings, jacuzzi, etc. No wonder this was our 7th visit !!!!!!

What a wonderful time and beautiful B&B!!! They thought of every little detail! Our room was great, the food was delicious and the atmosphere was perfect. We would highly recommend The Mission Inn and we look forward to going back there again soon. Susan and Ray were amazing hosts and gave us a great dinner recommendation.

My wife and I chose this B&B because of the awesome reviews that it received. I questioned the fact that it had almost NO negative reviews, but after staying here I can say that the Positive reviews were totally correct, and the negatives were probably from people who need to complain about something anyway. We felt totally at home at the Mission Inn and HIGHLY recommend it to couples wanting to get away for a few days. We were spoiled (to put it lightly) and felt at home the minute we walked in the door. Only one word of caution for those staying in the San Juan Capistrano room, the bathroom is small (they did warn us of this before our stay, just THIS bathroom though from what I understand). I'm only 5'7" tall, if I were taller than say 5'10" it wouldn't work. Other than that, the room and the B&B were great, especially Leslie and the awesome variety and creativity at breakfast. Thanks Susan and Ray, you run a great B&B in Cape May.

My husband and I have stayed at this inn twice over the past three years and will come back again. It is just the best of the best. The rooms are beautifully decorated and appointed, the breakfasts are so delicious, and the help and the owners just make it feel like your home away from home. Could not ask for more. You are on a quiet street not far from the beach or the downtown, yet not bothered by loud noises and traffic. It is a favorite getaway for us.
5 on July 14, 2010
We just started staying at B & B's 3 years ago. This is far and away the best yet. If they are all like this, I will never stay in hotel again. We felt welcome as soon as we set foot in the door and felt sad when we left. It is a rare feeling when you think you get your money's worth for anything but that is the feeling I got. Friendly, helpful, great room(s), and great food. The only regret I had was that I didn't find out Ray was into the Civil War until I was leaving--would have loved to talked to him about that. Go to this place--you won't regret it.

My husband & I go the Mission Inn the third week in September for a week. This year we decided to add a long weekend in June. No matter when you go to the Inn, Susan & Raymond treat you like family. The breakfasts are always different and everything is made with fresh produce. When we are there we never want to leave. Susan & Raymond have thought of everything when renovating to make your stay a wonderful and memorable experience. Thank you. See you in September.

Our trip to the Mission Inn in Cape May, NJ changed our minds on what a Bed and Breakfast Inn can be. On past visits to other B&B’s we were not completely comfortable, feeling that we were staying in the house of someone we did not know. At the Mission Inn, the efforts of hosts Susan and Raymond made everyone feel like they were long time friends and any request or preference was enthusiastically acknowledged and addressed. Only 1 block from the beautiful sandy beaches, we found the rooms were clean and comfortable, the food was delicious and beautifully prepared, and the service was exceptional. This was the most enjoyable B&B experience that we have ever had and we hope to be able to return soon.

We enjoyed the most fantastic 4 days and 3 nights we ever had in Cape May. The Mission Inn is the place to stay. The Innkeepers Susan and Ray are such gracious, warm, caring, detailed oriented hosts. They make you feel like family and nothing is to much trouble. The Mission Inn decor is stunning with the murals of different Missions from California and it is also very cozy and comfortable. The gourmet breakfast and the late afternoon fare was delicious. Can't wait to go back.

Susan and Ray are very special Innkeepers.

I had never been to Cape May and wanted to find a nice relaxing Bed & Breakfast to unwind. The Mission Inn more than exceeded my expectations! Even though the weather was not ideal during our stay, my boyfriend and I had a wonderful, relaxing time. The Inn is beautifully decorated and the hosts made you feel very welcome – we had never met them before, but felt that after a few minutes, they were old friends! Food was outstanding and we will definitely return for another visit as soon as we can!

To be thoroughly spoiled, catered to and comforted. A lovely visit - and we're going back in 2 weeks (having visited at least a dozen times). Wonderful innkeepers and staff, delicious food, cozy & comfortable bed, great bubbly jacuzzi. Only a few steps to the beach, for great beachwalking & shells in the off-season. All our dinner reservations were made, yummy afternoon treats. Susan's cookies are a delight!

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at The Mission Inn. From the moment we walked inside, Susan and Raymond made us feel at home. The Inn is decorated tastefully, and murals relating to California Missions are fantastic. The room, bike rides and just sitting on the porch enjoying the ocean view. Breakfasts were delicious. It's just a great place to get away and share it to our friends - that's exactly what we are going to do next time. Nana and Mike More from tripadvisor.com »

The Mission Inn is a welcome and refreshing option to Cape May's Victorian B&B's. We have stayed at a number of them but since we first stayed at the Mission Inn a few years ago, we are "hooked". The innkeepers, Raymond and Susan, can't do enough for you, as well as their small yet attentive staff. The rooms and bathrooms are comfortable and quiet, and the Inn itself is a perfect place to find a relaxing spot to "nest". It's like a home away from home. The breakfasts and afternoon snacks are gourmet!

It was not only the peaceful setting of this California themed B&B that made our visit special, but it really was all the attention to details and the personal touches that the innkeeper, Susan, provided that made this visit go above and beyond any other B&B I've ever visited. I wanted to move in. The breakfast in the morning was healthy and fresh. Just one block from the beach. Beautiful environment. We will definitely return there in the future for a relaxing getaway.

The Mission Inn is a uniquely decorated B&B that provides attention to every detail. The entire Inn is classy, but comfortable, lovely gardens, delicious food & beautiful, artistic decor throughout, made our stay perfect. The hosts, Susan & Raymond, were delightful.

Part of the allure of a Bed and Breakfast is the intersection between your private fantasy of home and your personal concept of an earthly paradise. That's why The Mission Inn is the place we return to time and again. It's graced with a tranquil back patio with its own proverbial trumpet vine and fig tree, has a jar always brimming with fresh oatmeal cranberry cookies, and (in our favorite room) has a luxury shower with eight spray jets and a rainfall shower head. When we trailed back from the hot beach to find ginger peach soup and bowls chilling in the freezer, we knew we were in Eden by the Atlantic. The airy, pleasing decor is a refreshing spin on California coastal missions, the food is incredibly creative, fresh, and tasty, and Susan and Raymond sparkle with warmth and joy in what they do. Go see for yourself. Enjoy. Just leave me a cookie or two, please.

My husband and I thoroughly, thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Mission Inn in July 09. The food was exceptionally good and the service was stellar as well. One of the best things about this Bed & Breakfast is the very unique and beautiful decor of the rooms. The gorgeous spanish-style detail adds such a special feeling to each location of the house. The Innkeepers are ABSOLUTELY wonderful, but the food was just delightful! We really enjoyed ourselves-especially staying in the room with the TV in the bathroom. I always wanted to sit in the tub and watch SCRUBS. HA! What a fantasic little trip. It will be nice to go back again.

After returning from the beach we were greeted by Janet and served afternoon beverages and hors'doeuvres that were so enjoyable as well as talking with the different couples saying there! The amenities could not be any better. We stayed in the San Francisco de Asis and just loved this beautiful room. This was a special treat to celebrate my husband's birthday and he just loved it. We are bicycle riders and loved being away from all the crouds of people where all other Bed and Breakfasts are generally located. This is only one block to the beach. 5-years ago my wife and I stayed at the Mission Inn at Cape May, NJ. We both left being totally impressed. Good firends of ours asked for a recommendation and we recommended the Mission. Asked if we and another couple would like to go along. Well it is hard to believe that you could improve on perfection, but that was the case with the Mission. When we returned home we sat around discussing the weekend trip and everyone felt exactly the same way - it was awesome! Susan and Ray, the Inn owners are just great. Feel like I've known them for many years. I would never hesitate to recommend the Mission.

Three times a charm. This was our third visit to the Mission Inn, and once again it exceeded our expectations. Susan, Raymond and their staff are the ultimate hosts. I've been going to Cape May since I was a child, and have stayed in quite a few places in Cape May. Nothing compares to the Mission. Bright , airy, clean with no clutter is the best way I can describe it. Our decision has been, from now on whenever we plan a trip to Cape May, this is our home away from home. Where else do they welcome you and bid you farewell with hugs! John and Mari, Wilmington, DE

The Mission Inn is the place to stay in Cape May. My wife and I "got away" at the Mission Inn in Cape May during the last week in April. You would never know that it was midweek or preseason. There was not a single detail missed. Susan was fantastic! Her establishment was impeccable. It is a clean, well done Mexican themed mini resort. No amenity was missed. A classy environment complete with multiple fire places, up to date electronics, nice homey rooms, and wonderful bathrooms and showers. Hors d'oeuvres, wine, port, cookies, fruit... You name it. They didn’t miss a beat. We were greeted on arrival as if Susan had known us for years and we were old friends. A full tour was given so that instant comfort was established. We were shown to our room, which was fantastic. We freshened up in their one of a kind state of the art dual head showers. We then stepped out to a delicious dinner at Peter Shields Inn up the road. Stopped by a club for a drink then headed back to our room for a night cap and a movie. We wrapped up our evening with some good sleep on a firm comfortable king size bed with a nice ocean breeze though the multiple windows. Woke up in the morning and came down to hot coffee, ice cold juice, a newspaper and a fantastic 3 course authentic Mexican breakfast, followed up with some great conversation. I will return to The Mission Inn in the future and I would not hesitate a firm recommendation to anyone I know. I was very impressed. 5 Star

I have stayed in several B&Bs in Cape May many times in the past ten years all who tout in their advertisements of their warmth and hospitality during your stay.My girlfriend and myself stayed in the Mission Inn recently for the first time. The stay was fantastic. The breakfasts, rooms and attitude of Sue and Ray were the best I have seen.Rather than the aloof and cold atmosphere I have expierenced in the other B&Bs I felt like I was visiting with good friends at the Mission Inn.We live two hundred miles away but we will be back many more times including this spring.I would like to thank Sue and Ray for a very delightful stay.

Stayed one night, off season, week night, but have stayed at many B&B's up and down the coast. This clearly ranks among my favorites. The food was the best, absolutely outstanding. Susan was just a pleasure to speak with. The showers are awesome. A must stay!

We went to the Mission Inn with a group of lifelong friends for a relaxing, fun preChristmas weekend. This is, by far, the best B&B we've visited in Cape May. Susan and Ray welcomed us and our friends as family. The large comfortable common room was a cozy and warm gathering place for our group. The accomodations were perfect. Leslie's breakfasts were beyond our expectations and Cathy's afternoon treats were just what we wanted as we relaxed after a busy day of shopping and got ready for an evening tour. You will not be disappointed if you stay at the Mission Inn. We will definitely return for a summer getaway.

The Mission Inn and it's keeper Susan, far exceeded our expectations. As new empty-nesters we were due for some pampering and relaxation after getting our girls off to college. Susan has not left out a thing at the Mission Inn. Exceptional gourmet (and healthy) breakfasts and afternoon appetizers, beautiful unique rooms, gorgeous gardens, and lots of personalized attention, makes this Inn a must. Cape May in the fall was a peaceful get away from life's usual hectic pace.

The Mission Inn is the only place that my husband and I will stay in Cape May. Susan and Raymond have thought of everything with their beautiful B&B and even have a "Babymooner" program for expectant couples such as ourselves. We have not met more warm and inviting people and look forward to a return trip this Fall. This is an absolute must if you visit Cape May.

My husband and I like to vacation in Cape May every summer. Since discovering Susan and Ray's Mission Inn, this has become our favorite Bed & Breakfast. This is the place to which we return each year. We love the bright, warm atmosphere of this beautiful Inn. Susan and Ray have thought of every detail to make your stay comfortable and pleasant. The breakfasts and afternoon hors d' oeuvres are wonderful. The rooms are beautifully decorated, very clean, and comfortable. Susan and Ray are fantastic and always make you feel so welcome. They make each visit interesting by sharing information about new additions (stores, restaurants, etc.) to the town and the current happenings in Cape May. We always look forward to a return visit to The Mission Inn!

The Mission Inn is an amazing place to stay. The rooms are styled after the missions in California and the paintings make it all seem to come to life. The Spa tubs are great to relax in and the Showers will leave no one cold no matter where your standing. Susan took great care of us and made our stay very special. The breakfast was beautiful to see and taskted great. I really liked the fruit plate. Everyone that saw the rooms in my family plans to make the Mission Inn part of a future vacation!!!

My husband and I love The Mission Inn. Sue and Ray are wonderful, caring hosts. They have thought of every little detail, whether it's breakfast, the beautiful room, the beach equipment, etc. We go back every other year (but wish I could afford every year!) We have stayed at many other B&B's in Cape May and they do not compare!

The Mission Inn is wonderful! I went with my boyfriend for his birthday and we had a great time. The inn is beautiful, and Susan and Ray are fantastic, warm, and caring people. Their attention to detail was evident everywhere; they clearly put a lot of thought and effort into making this inn so fabulous. We stayed in the San Juan Bautista room which was beautiful. Susan and Ray thought of everything you could possibly want in a room-large TV in both the main room and bathroom, fireplace, chocolates by the bed, wine glasses next to the huge jet-air tub, little flower petels in the tub, and bath salts and gel on the side. Everything was so luxurious!! We really felt pampered! In terms of the food-it was delicious! In the afternoon they had some yummy snacks including corn dip, crackers, artichoke dip, vegetables, chocolate covered strawberries, homemade cookies, wine, and iced-tea. It was a nice time for us to relax and get to the know the other guests a little bit. Everyone was so friendly that it was easy to feel at home. For breakfast we started off with a variety of fresh fruit, which was great. Then we got a ham and cheese panini with pesto-asparagus on the side. A banana-chocolate muffin completed the meal-delicious! Susan and Ray were so thoughtful; they knew that we were there to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday, so they put a candle in his cupcake as a special touch! We loved the Mission Inn and would strongly recommend it for anyone who would like a nice, relaxing, and luxurious time away from home. We'd definitely stay there again!

My husband stayed for the weekend and it was our first trip to Cape May. We stayed in the San Francisco room and it was AMAZING! Susan and Ray have thought of everything. The rooms was absolutely clean, neat and everything was provided. Susan and Ray are so warm and friendly and made us feel like we were indeed at home. The breakfasts were absolutely delicious! They have a gourmet chef there and she is wonderful! We will be sure to come back and stay the Mission Inn again!! It's worth every penny!

The Mission Inn offered us our romantic weekend. The owners Sue and Ryan were warm, inviting and the inn had all the comforts of home. Gourmet hordoerves were served in the afternoon accompanied by teas, coffee and wine. Our room was large, comfortable and clean as whistle. The gourmet breakfast was outstanding. We also enjoyed riding bikes to the lighthouse, visting the local shops, long walks to watch the sunset and dinner at the many outstanding restaurants. I would highly recommend the Mission Inn, Sue and Ray made us feel most welcome.

Not your typical stuffy Victorian Cape May B&B. Updated, contemporary/traditional style with an Italian flair. Beautiful murals everywhere! I highly recommend it! Perfect common areas for reading, eating, and games.

From the moment you arrive the owners make you feel right at home. Everything is at your fingertips, from toiletries to wonderful bicycles to tour the town and beach. Fabulous beach just one block away. Breakfast was an absolute treat each and everyday morning served on a beautiful porch where you feel the ocean breeze. Afternoon hor'd were different each day serve w/homemade lemonade, ice tea or wine which was served in beautiful handpainted wine goblets. The homemade oatmeal cranberry cookies and blonde brownies were awesome! A fabulous location near enough to town but far away enough to be removed from the hustle and bustle of a resort - easy to walk to whatever you need and return to your hideaway - totally quiet in the evenings - a must visit for a first time or seasoned B&Ber!!! Give Susan and Ray our best from Connecticut !!!!

The Mission Inn innkeepers were warm and gracious folks. Great detail went in to decorating each guest room and common area and it is truly a pleasure to experience the artistry and beauty of the Inn. Our one discomfort was when our "neighbors" were using their whirlpool tub at all hours of the night--unfortunately the walls are thin and each time their tub was turned on our whole room rumbled from the powerful sound. Otherwise, we were genuinely pleased by the very clean and comfortable rooms--bed size and comfort, linens, bathroom accommodations, toiletries, outdoor views, natural lighting, storage, and warm atmosphere of the spacious common areas. We also were completely relaxed while reading and snacking in those common areas, too. Often it's easy to stay only in your individual room, but at the Mission Inn the comforts truly extend to every room in the house.
We are most appreciative of our guests comments. Our goal is to provide the utmost comfort for you. A previous guest had brought to our attention the late night use of our Jet Air Tubs. In the Fall of 2006 we implemented a time restriction for the use of these tubs of which all have graciously complied with. Thanks to folks such as yourself, having made us aware of ways in which we can better serve our guests, we are able to accomplish our goal of providing a casual elegant environment for all of you.

Innkeepers are over the top in hospitality, very inviting, sometimes too much. Thoughtful appointments in the room and bathroom. The decor is also a bit over the top. Bed was uncomfortable.
