Dormer house is still a reliable relaxed experience(the old), but a little busier and more businesslike and a bit less personal than it was with former owners(the new). Still a great value and generally pleasant experience

Labor Day at The Dormer House

Loved going back to The Dormer House. Nice meeting Diana, very nice. A little sad our friends Dennis & Lucille retired. We did have to go up the street for 1 breakfast-an adventure, but overall very good. Love the front porch & the quick walking time to down town. We will be back. Thank you Dormer House.

September getaway

This is our second year in a row at the Dormer house. We will be sure to make this a yearly getaway. The staff is friendly upon your arrival and departure. The rooms are beautifully decorated. Breakfast is fresh and delicious. We especially enjoy the evenings sitting on the beautiful porch watching the carriages go by. John & Kathleen Sweeney Roebling N.J.

My wife Cathy and I have been staying at the Dormer House (in Cape May) for years. It is truly our safe haven and refuge! You immediately are treated like family and not just a guest. It is laid-back and wonderful. We have stayed at many of the "famous" B&B's of Cape May, but we always return to the Dormer House as if it were our second home! Ed Cornell

What a great vacation !

The host and hostess were extremely friendly. Our room Lillian Hastings, was good but could have been a bit cleaner. There were cobwebs in the corners and dust on the walls. I don't think the room was vacuumed once during our stay. The bed was comfortable and the window a/c was adequate. There were loose floor tiles in the bathroom. I think I would have preferred a buffet breakfast. From the time I booked the room in January until we stayed at the Dorner House, it had changed owners. After 6 or 7 pm the staff were off site and although we had no major problems, it would have been nice to have staff 24-7 on site. The living room was like a museum and no one actually used it. There was no incentive to congregate there, I may have been expecting too much for this quaint b&b.It may have been more inviting if the original owners were on site, maybe board games, cards or late night coffee would have been a nice touch. It was very conviently located to the beach and the shopping areas. The value for the room was about right. We had beautiful weather. This was our first visit to Cape May but we will be back, and we would stay at the Dorner House again. Thank you Dianea and Mike. Peter and Jill Schulz
