Built in 1900, the Luther Ogden Inn features a large wrapround porch, magnificent chestnut woodwork, and columns. All 4 guest rooms have private bath, AC, and TV. Located just 1 block from the beach and 3 blocks from the Victorian walking mall, the inn is convenient to everything. On-site parking and a full breakfast are included.

Been staying at the Luther Ogden Inn for 14 years. Jan and Mark are wonderful hosts and Jan makes the best breakfast in Cape May, using herbs and veggies Mark grows. I could just live on the porch! Easy walk to the beach and shopping. Charming house. I wouldn't stay anywhere else!
Having you stay at the Luther Ogden Inn is like having an old friend visit! You love our porch as much as we do. It's always a pleasure to see you and catch up.

We've been going to cape may for about 20 years and have stayed in different bnb's. The Luther Ogden was well situated just a few blocks from the sea and from the pedestrian mall. We knew when we booked it that our room was the smallest. So it was. But perfectly adequate for a short stay. Great cross ventilation and AC that we could control ourselves. Breakfasts were very tasty and our hosts, Jan and Mark very sociable and helpful. When I mistakenly left my keys in the drawer, they found them and mailed them back to me which was a great relief.

The Luther Ogden Inn is in the heart of Cape May. It is situated near the beach, shops and plenty of fine dining and pub style restaurants. However, it is the breakfast that is served each morning on the rap-around porch that makes this inn very special. The owners are very delightful and have an extensive knowledge of Cape May. You will not be disappointed with their hospitality and friendliness.

We booked last minute, after we realized we had failed to make a reservation in town for the wedding we were to attend. Jan met us at the door, gave us the details and kindly directed us to a few spots in town. The room was small, but very comfortable, tidy and quiet. Lovely home and innkeepers! Oh, and the zucchini frittata was spectacular for breakfast. Really, I would pay to just have breakfast here again!
My award winning Zucchini Frittata is one of my favorites, too. We grow our own zucchini, onions, tomatoes and fresh herbs for a tasty farm-to-table experience! We're glad you enjoyed your stay.

We had a great weekend. The innkeeper Jan was very hospitable and welcoming. The room was small but comfortable. Good there was a portable heater in the room as the house itself was very cool
Christmas season is Cape May is magical. The Candlelight House Tours are beautiful, the Christmas Parade is small town America at its finest, and the trolley rides are geared to showcase all of the decorated homes. We are glad you enjoyed your stay. We do not have any portable heaters anywhere in the house. Each room has an electric fireplace with realistic looking flames with an optional heat producing switch.

A very needed getaway turned out to be a very relaxing visit to Cape May. The Innkeepers were like old friends and accommodating in every way. Our room suited us perfectly. The breakfast each morning was fantastic. You will enjoy your stay.
Thanks for your enthusiastic review! Actually, our return customers have become friends over the years. We enjoy catching up with them each time they arrive.

Wonderful place to spend a few days at the beach! Breakfast provided by hosts was excellent - and the beach is just a block away. Would definitely stay at this lovely Inn again- Jan and Mark are very gracious hosts.
Thank you so much for the 5 star review! We are so glad you enjoyed your stay at the Luther Ogden. Hope to see you again in the future!

Lovely old turn of the century house. The attic space has been converted into four guest rooms rather cleverly. Rooms could have been bigger but were comfortable enough for sleeping and showering etc. I enjoyed the ambiance of the place and the old fashioned courtesies shown by the owners. They enjoy sitting on their wrap around porch chatting with guests, and it was a most welcoming place in general. Breakfast is AT 9 am - don't be late! We sat eating and talking with other guests - most enjoyable overall. On the porch you can hear the ocean - two easy blocks away. No need to drive in the evening - we ate at two outstanding restaurants, both within easy walking distance. Nice touch in the room - a multi USB outlet, making a gadget nut like me very happy.
We're so glad you enjoyed your stay. Our porch is great....everyone loves it! Just to clarify, our rooms were converted from a spacious 2 bedroom apartment with full kitchen and living room. We were able to make 4 guest rooms and a Hospitality Room.

Jan was a public school librarian before becoming an innkeeper. She is active in the Chamber of Commerce and has served as scholarship chair. She is also in her 4th year as President of Cape May Historic Accommodations. Mark worked in the paper industry as a national sales manager. He likes fishing, boating and gardening. He is responsible for all of the landscaping at the inn and grows all of the vegetables and herbs we use in our breakfasts. In our spare time, we like to cruise.
