When we arrived there was no clear signage directing us to the Inn desk. The foyer was all about the eateries. When we spoke with Cheryl, she stated she didn't do this...I guess she meant checking in folks. We hemmed and waited until she then got our key. We asked to see the room; she paused and looked at us. Then she got up and led us to the room. (We wanted to make sure the room was the one we expected. It was). There was a gentleman that attached himself to us as we went upstairs....don't know why. We asked who the Innkeeper was. Cheryl said there wasn't one for a number of years. We then asked who was managing the Inn. That seemed to create a bit of confusion. We were getting some mixed thoughts re: staying there. It turns out that Cheryl and the gentleman were the owners of the Inn...why they never said so when we first asked is a mystery to us! When we returned to the Inn after our obligation, the room was ready and very comfortable. The linens were fresh and all the towels and appointments were present. The breakfast the next morning was terrific! The chef was engaging and pleasant. w

Our extended family essentially took over the inn for a weekend as we were in town for a wedding. The staff was great - friendly and helpful. Each room has its own sense of style. I love older places and their quirks, such as uneven floors. Food was tasty. Loved sitting on front porch and chilling with family!

The staff at The Monadnock Inn were all amazing and extremely accommodating to our entire family while stayed there. There were many of us staying at the Inn to celebrate a wedding and they consistently checked in on us making sure we had all we needed and were enjoying our stay. Christina is an amazing cook and answered all of our questions while also coming out to talk to us after each meal. Gabe was a fantastic bar tender and also made sure to take the time to talk to us all, they both made us feel extremely at home there. I look forward to my next visit!

Our family of 4 (mom, dad, and 14-year-old twins) stayed here one night on our way through New England and hiked Mt. Monadnock the next morning. The Inn Keeper, Lorna, was 3 weeks new but extremely hospitable and friendly; and the executive chef Christina was also new with a great personality. When we arrived, it was around 6pm on a Monday, and the restaurant was technically closed due to a private party. Lorna volunteered to inquire with the executive chef to serve us dinner in the bar area, and Christina obliged with tasty choices (Asian salmon, bourbon chicken, steak, fish & chips offered). Gabe the bartender took great care of us. We slept like rocks in the comfy beds. Only regret is we had to leave by 7am, before breakfast (served at 7:30). The Inn itself shows some age and could use a bit of TLC, but all in all we were comfortable and well cared for.

Quaint and simple. Room was comfortable. Love the feeling of being in a room similar to how it may have been when the inn was built but with a comfortable mattress. We had a wonderful relaxing stay.

My husband and I stayed for one night. Lovely old house, beautiful porch and quaint restaurant and bar. The inn keeper was nice but lacked friendliness and seemed preoccupied with the kitchen (checking in and out-she was the only one who was responsible for this I guess). The room was fine. A little cold when we originally walked in but seemed to have warmed up later in the evening. The next morning we could hear other guests walking in the hallway which is to be expected, but what's not to be expected is the cleaning lady to stick her key in the door and start to turn the knob- I had to say HELLO very loudly to get her to not walk in on us in bed, being that it was only 9am and check out wasn't til 11. I was also very shocked that she wouldn't have knocked first!! Then, about 30 minutes later she just busts open the door and looked shocked to see me standing there in the room. She proceeded to make it seem like she was asking if we needed anything, but clearly just thought we weren't in the room for some unknown reason. How about KNOCKING first?! Very weird experience for us ... We can't comment on the food as we didn't eat there.

We stayed for only one night but we can’t not wait to go back! The room was initially very very cold and we talked to the inn keeper who helped to fix it and then she said because it would take a while that we could pick a different room that wasn’t so cold. We chose to stay in the original room but we most certainly appreciated the offer of another room! The restaurant on the first floor: we can not say enough good things about! We chose the dine and stay option when booking online and it included (for $60 or so more) dinner (2appetizers, 2 entree’s, 2 desserts and breakfast the next morning!) our meal was delicious! The bill would have ended up at around $130 for the two of us but because we had the dine and stay option we got spectacular food (yes filet minion for the both of us) for half price essentially! The bed was huge (a king) and very comfortable! And the views were fantastic! The breakfast in the morning was made by the (new) inkeeper and was fairly basic but very very good! As previously stated we plan on going back to take advantage of the deals and views and the hiking trails that are near by!
