We stayed here for two nights in July and found it cozy and relaxing. It's just a short walk from the beach and several good restaurants. If you need a break from the beach, the pool is a nice alternative, with music playing and a hammock to rest in. Eric was nice enough to open up the hot tub on a hot day for us, too. Eric and Margie were excellent hosts!! They went above and beyond when I lost an earring in the pool - they found it after we left and mailed it to our home.

Another amazing weekend at the OBX! Margie and Eric are the best at what they do! Great restaurant recommendations and ideas for visiting all the OBX has to offer! We are looking forward to our next trip!

This was our 2nd stay at Eric and Margie's gorgeous Bed and Breakfast in Nags Head. We can't say enough about what a remarkable place this is. The room was clean, spacious (and we had one of the smaller ones) and well-appointed. The breakfasts were delicious and not so large that you felt over-stuffed. Eric and Margie go out of their way to think of everything someone might need coming to the beach - beach towels, beach chairs, umbrella, even Boogie boards by request! There is a small shared refrigerator that we were able to store some drinks and snacks in and plenty of filtered ice in the ice machine for our drinks. There are multiple hammocks and relaxing chairs around the property and a pool complete with seating/tables and umbrellas (and another hammock). There's a hot tub, but we didn't use it as it was VERY HOT the week we were there this year. The beach is just across the street and there are many excellent restaurants nearby (ask the owners to recommend their favorites, but don't miss The Blue Moon Beach Grill!!!). We'll definitely be back again...

Wife and I spent 2015 Memorial Day Weekend at the Relax Inn. Margie and Eric were great host and saw to our every need. They spent time talking with us about the Outer Banks or any other topic that we had questions about. Our room was great. The hot breakfast each morning were great. The company was great. Most important of all is that it was Relax Inn which is exactly what we were looking for . Thanks for the hospitality.

Our stay here was perfect in every way, as the name says RelaxInn and it was so relaxing. Beautifully presented home cooked breakfasts served in the semi outdoor area, and a delightful touch, hors d'oeuvres and wine late afternoon. Margie and Eric were able to give us lots of advice on places to visit in the area. Our room, The Captains room was spacious and comfortable with lovely décor. It is in a great location, a few minutes walk to the beach and Jennette,s Pier and some good places to eat nearby. We had a wonderful stay and the time passed too quickly. We will certainly be back when we are back in N.C.

My favorite time to visit the outer banks is late September and October because it's less busy and frenetic which makes it more relaxing. The RelaxInn manages to capture this ambience year-round. A very nice property with easy going but attentive hosts.

My wife and I stayed here for three days in September 2013 and absolutely loved everything about Relaxinn B&B! We have been coming to the Outer Banks for MANY years, but this was our first B&B. The location is perfect. It is very close to restaurants and shops, the beach was across the street and over the dunes. Margie and Eric are perfect hosts! Breakfasts each morning (pancakes, omelettes, french toast, fruit, coffee...and wine/cheese/fruit at 4:00 p.m. every afternoon were wonderful. The grounds are beautiful, with LOTS of gorgeous plants. The pool, the numerous hammocks, the beach shower, the hot tub, the observation deck on the roof are all just perfect. We stayed in the Captain's Room on the ocean side...just right. The other two rooms are on the sound side, but any room will due...all are lovely. "RelaxInn" is the perfect name for this B&B. We will definitely stay here again next year.

Charming inn, delightful and accommodating hosts. Aptly named inn as we thoroughly relaxed during our stay. Eric & Margie attended to our every need - before we could ask. Delicious homemade breakfasts. Timely afternoon wine and hors d' oeuvres was just great. Inn was convenient to all we wanted and needed. Hardly needed or used our car at all. We'll definitely be going back.

Famous Island Omelette
The fluffy omelette is a refined version of an ancient food. According to Alan Davidson, the French word omelette came into use during the mid-16th century, but the versions alumelle and alumete are employed by the Ménagier de Paris in 1393. Rabelais (Pantagruel, IV, 9) mentions an homelaicte d'oeufs , Olivier de Serres an amelette, François Pierre La Varenne's Le cuisinier françois (1651) has aumelette, and the modern omelette appears in Cuisine bourgoise (1784).
