About

Mountain Creek B&B is a 3400 sq. ft. custom red cypress log home carved into the side of the South Mountains set on 5 1/2 acres that has three walking trails & a creek with a spacious deck for relaxing to the sound of the cascading water. The 65 ft. front deck provides beautiful views. Upon entering the property, crossing the bridge & driving up, you will see the cabin nestled in the mountain. As you enter Mountain Creek, you will be greeted by a grand log staircase, two floor-to-ceiling cypress trees and a 25 foot stone fireplace in the Great Room. Private Swedish Massages are available by appointment with our licensed Massage Therapist, Deborah Trivett. Our two king suites are on the 2nd floor on opposite sides of the cabin which gives our guests a real sense of privacy. The loft area in between the suites has a coffee station with all the amenities and has a basket of brochures of places to go and things to do as well as magazines to browse through. We serve breakfast at 8:30 AM & includes one of the following French toast, Belgium waffles, spinach or ham & swiss quiche & a hearty Frittata. For those guests that prefer a lighter morning meal, homemade muffins and oatmeal are always available! We also offer an "EXCLUSIVE STAY" package that will guarantee you will be the only guests during your stay with us. Before making your reservation call 828-403-7987 for details, discounts and special offers.

Genuine Warmth & Gracious hospitality

5 on November 02, 2017

Nestled in the side of its very own mountain, Mountain Creek Bed and Breakfast is a hidden gem waiting to welcome all who ascend its lovely, winding driveway. Proprietors Nancy and Peter Kampf are its hosts, extraordinaire, eager to fulfill their guests' requests with genuine warmth and gracious hospitality. When they discovered our son was running the Peak-to-Creek Marathon nearby, Peter printed us a colored map for navigation. And to welcome him back from the race, Nancy had a warm home baked cherry pie. Imagine! Mountain Creek's accommodations are truly impeccable; its breakfasts absolutely divine. This exquisite cabin chalet envelopes its visitors in grace and beauty, beckoning them to return again soon! We can't wait! Carol & Mike - Hutson House, SC

About the innkeepers

We are from Long Island, NY. While we enjoyed raising our three children and spending as much time as we could on the south shore in our boat, we wanted to retire in western North Carolina & live in a log cabin in the mountains. In 2010 we moved to Morganton NC and now we have the opportunity to share our log home with you! We love to meet new people and hear of their stories too! Before making your reservation call us at 828-403-7987 for discounts and special offers.

Signature Dish

Frittata
Our Frittata is a favorite of our guests! Maybe because the onions, peppers and potatoes are sauteed in bacon fat & then sprinkled with bacon salt?! Of course, the combination of cheddar cheese and american cheese helps too! Whatever your taste, the Frittata will leave you full and satisfied with its side of sliced smoked sausage and choice of toast or english muffins and our variety of jams and jellies! Our crustless quiches are also a favorite with our guests. The spinach quiche is made with sauteed onions & seasoning mix, and freshly grated munster cheese makes it extra creamy. The ham and swiss quiche is flavored with finely chopped carrots and onions & seasoning mix and the eggs are combined with a baking mix which gives it a firmer texture. They will both have you calling for seconds! For those with a sweeter taste we serve Belgium waffles which we have been told are the fluffiest and lightest waffles our guests have ever had. And our french toast is made with fresh sweet french bread that is thick sliced and dipped in flavored batter that leaves it crisp and firm. Top these with our variety of syrups and side of bacon and you will be set for your days activities!
