Mountain Creek B&B is a 3400 sq. ft. custom red cypress log home carved into the side of the South Mountains set on 5 1/2 acres that has three walking trails & a creek with a spacious deck for relaxing to the sound of the cascading water. The 65 ft. front deck provides beautiful views. Upon entering the property, crossing the bridge & driving up, you will see the cabin nestled in the mountain. As you enter Mountain Creek, you will be greeted by a grand log staircase, two floor-to-ceiling cypress trees and a 25 foot stone fireplace in the Great Room. Private Swedish Massages are available by appointment with our licensed Massage Therapist, Deborah Trivett. Our two king suites are on the 2nd floor on opposite sides of the cabin and are separated by the loft area which gives our guests a real sense of privacy. We serve breakfast at 8:30 AM & includes one of the following French toast, Belgium waffles, spinach quiche, or a hearty Frittata. For those guests that prefer a lighter morning meal, homemade muffins and oatmeal are always available! Morganton offers many restaurants, parks, local breweries and attractions. The Catawba Meadows is the home of the Beanstalk Journey Zip line and also hosts the annual Red, White and Bluegrass Festival July 1st - 4th. South Mountain State Park is only 15 minutes away. Ashville, Charlotte, Hickory and Boone are all within an hours drive & the Blue Ridge Parkway offers a scenic route to many others sites as well.

Beautiful B&B with wonderful owners, we couldn't have been more pleased. Our room was perfect for us. Private bath, private TV, easy chairs with reading lights, and a king sized bedroom. Oh, and breakfast was fit for a king. Loved it. Dean and Gerry

I can honestly say the breakfast was the best I have ever had. I would recommend Mountain Creek Cabin to anyone wanting a unique and fun experience! Thank you!

My husband and I stayed at Mountain Creek B & B two nights for our 59th anniversary. Peter and Nancy are wonderful hosts and have a beautiful log home. Our room was large and very comfortable, as was the bathroom also. Nancy prepares a yummy breakfast and provides muffins for a snack while your sight-seeing.and will even share her recipe. One night they even shared dessert with us. We came as guests and left as friends ! Sincerely, John and Karen Chase

Wow! What a beautiful log home! We enjoyed our 2 night stay in this home with a huge bedroom and large bathroom. Our hosts, Peter and Nancy, are two of the friendliest people we have ever experienced in a Bed and Breakfast and provided everything needed for a comfortable stay. The breakfasts were wonderful and so were the snacks! It was also very thoughtful of them to provide a bottle of sparkling cider and card for our Anniversary stay! John and Karen

Where to begin? When we first arrived, I adored the welcome sign. Its the little things for me. Then once entering the cabin, we were warmly welcomed by Nancy and Peter. The hospitality that these people gave was outstanding. We were the only guests for that weekend which to me, made it so much more special. What an easy sweet lady Nancy was. She certainly gave off that loving mother vibe. For being a new mother myself, she was just what I needed for leaving our little one with family in Charlotte. And her cooking & baking... I seriously drooled when I had her food. Peter isn't in the picture as much but its the perfect amount. They sit down with us during breakfast and have nice easy conversations. I cant rave enough about my experience here and want to go back in the worst way. What wonderful friends we made by choosing to stay at the Mountain Creek B & B.

I'll start with breakfast, served in the large open dining area. We enjoyed delicious frittatas and bacon, coffee and muffins. We also took a couple of blueberry muffins to go. Our hosts, Peter and Nancy, are the warmest, friendliest people you could meet. The house is even better than the pictures--light, airy, spotless. The bed was comfortable and the room was quiet.

My wife and I stayed at the Mountain Creek B&B for 4 nights. Nancy made us feel right at home! We felt like we were part of the family. The log "cabin" was warm and inviting. We stayed in the western room which was very spacious. We were on a tight schedule for our visit and while breakfast is normally after 8 a.m., Nancy had our breakfast ready at 7 a.m. The food was excellent. The muffins are the best we've had in a long time and Nancy packed us a to-go snack of muffins everyday. We asked her to join us at the breakfast table which she did. We are eventually moving into the area and we asked her a ton of questions. She was extremely helpful. Her husband, Peter, works but one afternoon we had the pleasure of sitting on their deck, enjoying the warm sun and exchanging stories. It doesn't get any better than that. My wife and I enjoyed this stay with Nancy and Peter so much that we have decided that we're using their house as a base for future trips to the region.
The Western room has a hand made king size log bed and end tables along with an old saddle resting on a barrel, cowboy boots, guitars, native American art work and many other small details that give this room a "come on in and rest your feet" feeling. The roomy seating area with ottomans make you want to sit back & relax while planning your stay with us! Your view will lead you to the tall rock mountainside and backyard lawn. The en-suite is detailed with its woodwork ceiling and also has a striking view of our mountainside. In the fridge you will always find complimentary bottles of natural artesian water. Enjoy a Swedish Massage by our licensed Massage Therapist in the privacy of your own room.

The Elk Room also boasts a king size hand made log bed and will remind you of an elegant hunting lodge. Furnished with antique side tables and dresser along with an antique suitcase, child's chair, pictures of our creek in different seasons flanking the bed and the eight pointer on the wall give reason for its name. The suede chairs with custom foot stools made from old crates upholstered with warm corduroy call you to kick off your shoes and stay a while! The en-suite bathroom is spacious with its floor to ceiling walls and a view of the rock mountainside! In the fridge you will always find complimentary bottles of natural artesian water. We are originally from Long Island, NY. While we enjoyed raising our three children and spending as much time as we could on the south shore in our boat, we wanted to retire down south in western North Carolina. We wanted to live in a log cabin in the mountains. So in 2010 we moved to Morganton NC and now we have the opportunity to share our log home with you! We love to meet new people and hear of their stories too! Please call us if you have any questions about making your reservation!
Full gourmet breakfast
I love to bake and have some wonderful recipes for homemade muffins which include, apple, blueberry, pumpkin, banana/walnut and raspberry. Of course they would not be complete without a homemade strussel topping! If you have a favorite, please mention it when you make your reservation!
