Azalea Inn Bed & Breakfast and 3 cottages are beautifully situated behind a white picket fence with an original birdhouse collection and blue ribbon flowers with a view of Horse Bottom Ridge in the heart of Banner Elk. There are 3 cottages and 2 suites with lodge decor; great king cedar log beds and FP, along with seven other guest bedrooms with private bathrooms beautifully appointed with hardwood floors and ceramic tile. Some bathrooms with clawfoot tubs and whirlpool tubs. Bedrooms beautifully decorated with antiques, quilts, color TVs and down comforters. Walk to fine dining or grab a burger nearby. The Banner Elk Winery is only one mile away and offers daily tastings and summer tours of the vineyard. Great shopping, scenic drives along the Blue Ridge Parkway, or take in one of the many festivals: fine arts and crafts, local farmer's market, and summer theatre at Lees McRae College. Hike magnificent Grandfather Mountain, or ski and snowboard nearby Beech Mountain and Sugar Mountain. North Carolina's High Country has nature in her autumn finery during the Wooly Worm Festival and the Apple Fair in Valle Crucis on the third weekend in October each year. The color and pageantry of the Grandfather Mountain Highland Games occurs on the second full weekend in July annually. Drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway and enjoy shopping and dining in quaint Blowing Rock, a resort town established in the 19th century for the "cooling off" of the residents all over the warm South.

We stayed in the Fox Suite just after Christmas after our wedding. This place is comfortable, easily accessible, and everything in town is easy walking distance, Also very close to Beech and Sugar mountains for snow skiing that we enjoyed. Frank and Karen are great hosts and serve up an awesome breakfast. If you're in the area, I highly recommend the Azalea Inn. Z & T

Frank and Karen are low-key but very knowledgeable of the area. They personalized our visit by being available, but now intrusive. The place felt like home. The gardening is spectacular. A bonus is a walking trail behind the house.

We stay at the Azalea Inn each year now. It is perfect. Clean, comfortable, located very well and the owners are the nicest people ever. The breakfast is wonderful....the only problem is I never want to leave.

We had a very enjoyable stay at the Azalea Inn although the weather was pretty cool. Frank and Karen prepared a great breakfast every morning. They made sure everything met our approval. Our room was very spacious and well kept. I hope we can plan more trips to the inn.

Our stay at the Azalea was a pleasant surprise. The inn was quiet and the hosts, Frank and Karen, were the perfect blend of friendly and informative. The grounds were beautiful and I could easily see hosting a family reunion here. The breakfast was the best B&B food we have ever had. Plenty of privacy and plenty to do in the area plus shops and restaurants right across a side street. Would highly recommend this B&B

Frank and Karen go out of their way to make your stay pleasant. The breakfast is great and you won't go away hungry! You can walk to several good restaurants for dinner. The grounds are absolutely beautiful!!! My personal favorite thing at the Inn is Karen's "Watch Dog" on the mantle! A great Inn at a great price. Joanne and Kirk (Waller)
